ah, this got long haha, so its under the cut

oh sure!! like my hyperfixation atm is i have no mouth and i must scream (actually im working on a informational website for it rn hee hee) but if you are interested in it its a horror short story about a computer that tortures people as a pastime (pdf link) but like trigger warning for mental and physical abuse and graphic descriptions of torture theres also a radioplay, comic adaptation and video game, all of which can be found on archive.org! the author sucks imo but this short story has been taking brainspace in my head for literal years now, and i could spend hours analysing it so :shrug:

then there is also transformers!!! im legit sosoo soooo in love with the franchise and the characters, but most of all the comics!!! transformers on its own spans like 50 years by now, and is almost exclusively marketed toward children, but if you want a dark, more gritty (but still not particularly realistic) war story, with legit beautiful gay relationships and great plottwists, not to mention the GORGEOUS artwork, the idw comics are great!!!! (here are some covers from them, new and old ^^)

also my url comes from one of the comic original characters, nautica!!!!

the comics are great but there are also a Lot of other stuff, from the classical goofy campy 80s cartoon, and THE transformers movie, which was so controversial kids were leaving the theaters crying (i love it, the animation is a bit better than the cartoon, which was INFAMOUS for its NUMEROUS animation errors)

the critically acclaimed for its characters and mature storylines (for children at least) the BEAST WARS cartoon of the 90s (i know this looks like ass but 1. it only adds to the accidental (and often not accidental) comedy, but the voice actors are doing a BANG UP job god, i think everyone should watch beast wars)

there are the animes, but tbh i havent watched any besides transformers: armada, and i didnt like it, so i dont have much to say about it. it is important to mention tho that a lot of these things i havent watched had a MASSIVE influence on the franchise, the tropes and character archetypes, so for a Complete Transformers Experience i guess you should watch em all.

but i digress, onto with the. bayverse (those big name transformers 2007 mov ies that people loved for some reason) which fucking sucked because 1. michael bay was more concerned with making poor megan fox “sexy“ for no fucking reason and the over ���blockbusterification“ of a cool stupid basically low stakes cartoon. 0/10 i dont like it, the only good thing so far was the knightverse (bumblebee movie). there are also more movies coming out next year and the following one, THANKFULLY not directed by bay AND involving characters and concepts from the beast wars era (!!!) so 

also they made hotrod french???? ill never forgive them im sorry

ok not comes a cool one, transformers ANIMATED, which was 1. amazing, 2. pivotal for the development of the franchise and establishing a Lot of conventions and settings for the future continuities, also the art director and a big chunk of the team went on to write and animate teen titans so the visual style is on point

(transformers continuities are basically every major reinvention of the characters and setting, for example g1 (80s cartoon, movie, failed reboot, and marvel comics (they dont get a mention cause i havent read them (yet))), beast wars (cartoon, tie in materials, and the collectors club magazine which will be briefly explained later), the unicron animes (armada, energon, cybertron), baymovies (baymovies) and now were at: animated!)

the bay movies and the animated cartoon basically debuted at the same time (eh. roughly) BUT 2005/6/7 ALSO saw the launching of my favorite continuity, the IDW2005 continuity!!! idw is a comics publisher (that loses the transformers license later this year but oh well) and they had a transformers universe from 2005 till 2019, where they basically hard rebooted it, with new characters, stakes, settings and stories

idw. god idw... theres SO much to say okay so. it was divided into 2 phases (technically 3 but the third ran concurrently to the second and was made mostly of crossovers with hasbro properties, so i dint really like it as much or consider it a standalone phase), the first written by known misogynist and homophobe simon furman (who sadly was a pretty talented transformers writer) who basically got free reign to write the new transformers mythos from the ground up, starting some good, some bad, some useless and some fucked up storylines,

the notable ones being All Hail Megatron, Last Stand Of The Wreckers (written AND illustrated by the absolutely IN CRE DI BLE nick roche, it won a Lot of awards) and the various spotlight issues, that focused on one character at a time. all in all it was almost a self contained story, if plagues by bit clicheed writing and absolutely annoying lack of women

anyway here are some of the covers

phase two.... it is THE part that makes people fall in love with the franchise. basically there two concurrent stories running after the end of the 6 million year war, one a political intrigue, a struggle of power on the cybertron, and its very dark and intense. its a genuinely fascinating and concise story with twists that make sense in hindsight, and a Lot of new characters that became fan favorite. it also treats its’ viewers very maturely even though its still technically a comic for teens

the other one \ is a wacky space adventure with gay people, dark comedy, overall comedy, monster of the week esque storytelling, inceredibly cool and funny and relatable characters, compelling interpersonal relationsships, impecaccable visual gags, overall art that fucks tremendously. and most importantly, the MOST GUT WRENCHING STORYTELLING youll ever experience. its great, i have to allocate time weekly to think about the final issue or my brain shuts down (not a joke, i once started thinking about by accident while driving and almost crashed the car cause it was fucking me up so much. it is VERY emotional). it has also won awards but idk which ones

its wayyy more than i can describe so do yourself a favor, start reading the comics today!

anyway i love transformers

there are some things im obsessed with, that im never gonna make content of, horny or otherwise, mostly because they are SO much. like things that whenever you think about them your thoughts start spinning faster and faster, thinking about the themes and meanings and characters and their relationships and you just sit there and stare at the wall cause ur brain cant compute. a thing like that is orv. its a LONG webnovel about well, a guy reading a webnovel that comes to reality and him manipulating the events to play out more favorably. i think im just gonna link you to a post by ot3 that basically made me read it,
