EUSTACHE DESCHAMPS "And Remedies Against Said Plague"
Contaminated air, poisoned ground, Infected bodies in the cemetery, and the dead Scattered in the fields in grievous wars, Latrines piled with infectious dung, Stench from garbage dumped In fields, towns, and castles, Great filth and heaps of excrement, Refuse which is foolhardy to make, Stale, polluted air, and swine: All of these cause plague in many places.
To have a gluttonous mouth, scurrilous life, To drink and eat without appetite, To sit long at table is dangerous to do, And likewise to eat too many courses. Eating overly salted venison, beef, oxen, and pork, Tench, eel, conger, all beasts, Ocean fish, dairy products, fruit, leeks, Onions and garlic, cheap wine with murky dregs, Hard bread and unleavened cakes: All of these cause plague in many places.
To live on water from swampy ground, To be in heavy air when fog is thick, Waking too early, leading a lewd life, And to be stiff with anger are death. To be too hot or too cold when doors are open, To partake of spas and baths among those Who are infected, putrid, and depressed Engenders many similar diseases, And such matters as in these prime examples: All of these cause plague in many places.
Prince, one would do well in these special cases And scurrilous circumstances, for one’s health, To flee from them all, or at least some. One should purge the body and keep warm, Since without protection from such defects, All of these cause plague in many places.

NJPW G1 Climax 2019 Day 3.
Our first match of the day is a big one. Lance Archer vs. Bad Luck Fale. The two biggest guys in the block facing off. As Archer came down to the ring. he was kicking the crap out of young lions, looking dangerous and badass. Archer quickly put Fale on the outside, and gave him a suicide dive, showing who the more agile one of the two competitors are. Jado got involved quickly by hitting Archer in the back with the kendo stick. Archer no sold it, but while he was distracted by Jado, Fale was able to get the advantage by throwing him through the crowd. Archer was able to beat the count into the ring, but was still very much on the backfoot. The two had tests of strength, which neither really came out on top of, but Archer was able to take Fale down with a crossbody off the top. Archer was doing his walk on the top rope, when Fale grabbed the ref, allowing Jado to nail Archer in the leg with the kendo stick. Fale then gave Archer a superplex, and the ref actually flew into the air, but only a near fall. Fale then went to the middle rope, but Archer caught him and tried to hit blackout, but Fale countered out with a grenade for another near fall. Archer went to give Fale a chokeslam, but Jado ran in the ring for a kendo stick shot. Archer caught the stick and drilled Jado in the face. That allowed Archer to hit a chokeslam for a near fall, and then gave him the EBD claw for the pin. Archer: 4, Fale: 2.
Grade: B. This was a pretty good big man battle. These two can sell when they want to, and that really helped this match. The two were very even in strength, so Archer used his agility to stay in the lead, while Fale was cheating quite a bit. This is an even bigger win than the one over Ospreay, so I think he will be a big deal in this tournament. Maybe he won’t beat the big four in his block, but I don’t really see him losing to anyone else. Fale will probably have a simlar run, but will more than likely beat at least one of those big four guys in his block.
Up next was Will Ospreay vs. SANADA. Ospreay’s music is still be changed due to international rights, so that sucks. His is some of the best music in wrestling. Sanada started with some technical wrestling, but Ospreay picked up the pace quite a bit. Sanada offered a handshake and Ospreay took it, only for Sanada to try for a kick. Ospreay caught the kick, and tried to do a paradise lock, but didn’t know the technique, so Sanada fought out. Sanada then locked Ospreay in the paradise lock for real, but Ospreay actually slipped out of the hold. The two then had an exciting yet technical match, using well placed strikes to beat each other down. Sanada was able to get the paradise lock on Ospreay again, this time in the ropes so that Ospreay really couldn’t get out, followed with the low dropkick. Ospreay kept trying to go hold for hold with Sanada, rather than taking the contest into striking territory where he may have the advantage. This match really showed that Ospreay was the master of counters, constantly making Sanada work for his signature maneuvers. There were several instances of signature moves taking a full minute to hit, like when Sanada went for a TKO and Ospreay went for a powerbomb. Ospreay followed up that powerbomb with a beautiful shooting star press, but only a near fall. Ospreay then tried for the stormbreaker, but Sanada reversed it into skull end. He then go for the moonsault, but Ospreay dodged it, and went for the os cutter, but Sanada again reversed into skull end. Ospreay fell out, nailed a ripcoard hook kick, and then hit the os cutter. Instead of going for the pin, Ospreay held on and picked Sanada up for a stormbreaker and the win. Ospreay: 2, Sanada: 2.
Grade: A-. Great stuff from these guys. They were countering everything that their opponent had. It left us with a very interesting and fast paced match that anyone could win at any time. This was a really good win for Ospreay, and not too damaging a loss for Sanada. Ospreay is more than a Junior Heavyweight at this point, he could believably beat most heavyweights. Both of these guys will have an interesting tournament, and I’m excited to see which of them will end up with more points.
Then we had a huge Champion vs. Champion match, which really should’ve main evented the show: Kazuchika Okada vs. Zack Sabre Jr. Sabre was struggling to really sink in a deep hold on Okada early on, taking a few interactions before really forcing Okada to the mat. Sabre nearly got the win with a series of quick rollups, but Okada was able to fight out each time, so Sabre opted for a groin submission and leg submission at the same time. Sabre tried to toy with Okada, but got far too cocky and lost control of the match. Okada started to work over Sabre’s neck, with various DDT’s, a knee drop on the neck and a tombstone. After Okada started to try for the rainmaker, Sabre opted to start to work the arm so that he wouldn’t be able to hit the finisher. Sabre even started to work some strikes in there, peppering him in the face and chest with slaps and chops. Okada nearly had him in another tombstone, but Sabre broke his grip and continued to attack the arm. However, the attack on the arm did not stop Okada, as he was able to hit a spinning rainmaker, followed by a proper rainmaker for the win. Okada: 4, Sabre: 0.
Grade: A-. Another great match from these two, but I would argue that this was the weakest of their trilogy. Great nontheless, as Sabre looked amazing with his various counters and submissions and improvised submisssions and modifying the submissions. If anyone is going to tap out Okada, it will be Sabre. Okada advances to 4 points, and continues to look strong. Sabre is off to a slow start, but he may start to pick up in the next few days.
Into EVIL vs. Kota Ibushi, and they started off super hot with a violent slugfest. It wasn’t even 3 minutes in when Evil started to assault Ibushi’s ankle. Evil worked with a combination of his normal striking and ankle submissions, which seemed very effective on Ibushi. Ibushi valiantly tried to fight through the pain, but most of the time was losing to Evil. Ibushi tried for a move off the top rope, but Evil met him at the top and delivered a huge superplex. The two then traded german suplexes and even hit each other wise huge clotheslines at the same time. The two them traded strikes in the middle of the ring, and while it looked like Ibushi came out on top, Evil attacked the ankle to get himself out of trouble. Evil’s attempts on the ankle struck quite the nerve with Ibushi, who started to play a bit dirty himself, but got stopped in his tracks when Evil shoved the ref into him. The two then brawled without a ref, and Ibushi put Evil on the mat with a huge kick. He went for the pin, and Evil kicked out and locked in a scorpion deathlock at a low angle to target the ankle. Ibushi then dodged a top rope senton, and nailed two bomaye’s, one to the back of the head and the other to the face. Ibushi tried for Kamegoye, but Evil counter and tried everything is evil, but Ibushi got out and the two traded blows, with Evil coming out on top after a spinning forearm and a huge clothesline. He then hit darkness falls for a 2 count, and then everything is is for the win. Evil: 2, Ibushi: 0.
Grade: A-. A really good slugfest that incorporated Ibushi’s injury. In a straight up fight, I would have chosen Ibushi to win, so it was interesting that a brawler like Evil got the win here. I loved his work on the ankle throughout the match, and I really expected Ibushi to tap out here, but I suppose they don’t want one of their top babyfaces to tap out to anyone. Really good stuff here, and a huge win for Evil that may propel him into being one of the high scorers in the block. I think we will really be able to confirm that after his match with Sanada on Day 5.
And in the main event, we had KENTA vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi. Katsuyori Shibata came out to be on japanese commentary, as he is a close friend of both men. The two started slow, just trying to feel each other out, with Kenta landed a huge slap early on, which Tanahashi giving him one back, prompting a brutal striking contest in the middle of the ring, which Tanahashi won after some shots to the midsection. Tanahashi tried to do his air guitar, but Kenta kicked him in the back of the head as he tried. Kenta blatantly disrespected Tanahashi several times during the match, sort of making him a heel, but he did a simlar thing in his match with Ibushi, and shook his hand at the end. Back to this match, Tanahashi finally got control after catching one of Kenta’s kicks and hitting a dragonscrew leg whip, which proved to be one of his best tools in this match. Kenta fought back into the match with some devastating kicks, finishing off a combination with a delayed dropick and then a flying double stomp. Kenta looked to hit the GTS from there, but Tanahashi grabbed the leg and hit a dragonscrew, followed by an inverted dragonscrew, and then locked in a cloverleaf. Tanahashi wanted to take out Kenta’s legs, because those kicks are his best weapon in this match. Tanahashi then hit several twist and shouts, and slingblades to do some damage to the neck. Tanahashi was able to hit a standing high fly flow, and went for it again while he was on the ground, but Kenta got his knees up right at the last second in a brutal bump. Kenta then forced Tanahashi to the ground with a sleeper, and then went for a pique kick. Tanahashi caught the kick, but Kenta nailed him with a knee strike before Tanahashi could hit the dragonscrew, and then hit a pique. Kenta then hit the go to sleep and won the match. Kenta: 4, Tanahashi: 0.
After the match, Tanahashi refused to shake Kenta’s hand. Interesting.
Grade: A. This was really really good. Two aces of Japanese wrestling going out there and beating the crap out of each other. It almost seemed like Tanahashi knew that Kenta could beat him, and he tried to take out his strongest weapons in the kicks, but Kenta’s strikes just didn’t stop. He peppered the ace throughout the match, and no matter how many times Tanahashi tried to counter him, Kenta kept throwing more hits. This is a huge win for Kenta, and now I have to wonder if he will beat Okada. He beat Ibushi and Tanahashi, so I don’t know who else will take him down. His run is definitely one that I am interested in, and I’m excited to see more of his matches. This was the match of the night hands down. Hopefully Tanahashi can start picking up some wins in the block now.
Overall Grade: B+.
Pros: All matches
Cons: Ibushi’s ankle injury seems like it may affect his matches going forward.

Toni Storm vs Alexa Bliss
DING DING DING. As the bell sounds, both women take off full speed at each other meeting in the center of the ring. Toni reacts first, taking the high route and tackling Alexa to the ground. Toni hopes on top of her, grabbing as much hair as possible and begins to slam the back of her head off the mat. With each shake, it seems as if Alexa gets looser from her grip before finally slipping out from under Toni and getting to her feet. Toni tries to get to her feet, only to catch a kick to the ribs. Toni rolls around the ring in pain and Alexa sees this as a chance to get the upper hand. Alexa reaches down and flattens Toni’s shoulder, before drop a big elbow right across the chest. Alexa goes for the pin. ONE… KICKOUT!. Toni throws one of her legs into the air, getting her shoulders off the ground. Apparently a win isn’t going to come easy. Alexa grabs Toni by the hair and lifts her to her feet. She snapmares her back to the ground before taking off and bouncing off the ropes connecting with a dropkick to the face! Alexa pulls Toni back to her feet and whips her off the far side ropes. Alexa tries to throw a closeline, but Toni ducks under it. Instead of bouncing off the opposite ropes, Toni waits behind Alexa. Alexa turns around only to receive a dropick from Toni! Toni goes for the quick pin. ONE… TWO… KICKOUT! Toni smacks the mat in frustration, thinking she caught Alexa off guard. Both women get to their feet and begin to circle each other, waiting for the other one to try to make a move. Toni is the impatient one and charges first, only to be on the receiving end of a kick to the gut. She bends over in pain and Alexa tries to secure the lock around her neck for a DDT, only for Toni to reverse it and whip Alexa off the ropes. Toni bends down, trying to flip Alexa over her, only to have Alexa to use the momentum of the ropes to hit a Twisted DDT! Alexa assesses the damage caused and shakes her head, claiming she isn’t done yet. She picks Toni up and hits a snap suplex! Alexa goes for the pin. ONE… TWO… KICKOUT! Alexa can’t believe it! She lets out a yell of frustration before going back to attack Toni. Alexa throws a couple elbows to the downed Toni before bringing her to her feet and whipping her into the corner. Alexa backs up to gain speed, before charging right at the unsuspecting Toni! You can almost see a grin across Toni’s face as she drops down to the ground, taking out Alexa’s legs and sending her shoulder first into the ring post! Toni wastes little time and grab Alexa by the legs, using all her strength to quickly pull her out from the ring post causing her to hit the mat face first! Toni hops on the back of Alexa and locks in a choke hold. She’s trying to make her tap out! Alexa grabs onto the nearby bottom rope and the referee signals for the lock to be broken. Toni lets go and gets to her feet. As Alexa tries to regain herself, Toni throws a kick to her side, causing her to drop back down to the mat. Toni throws her hands in the air as the crowd watches. She’s taunting her opponent! Alexa finally gets back to her feet, still dazed from the earlier abuse. Toni is up and ….Strong Zero! Storm down for the pin. The referee makes the count! ONE… TWO… THREE! “And your winner is….Toni Storm!”

WWE 205 Live 7/16/19
We started out with an ominous Drew Gulak promo, where he said that his win over Tony Nese only proved that he was at the top of the division, and that he would rule with an iron fist. This is his 205 Live, and we just have to deal with it. Awesome, love Gulak.
Our first match of the night was Akira Tozawa vs. Samir Singh. Before the match, the Singh Brothers cut an annoying Hollywood promo, just sorta putting down Tozawa and saying that he isn’t worth their time. Samir had a couple good shots at the beginning, but Tozawa quickly turned the tide in his favor. Tozawa had the match won, but Sunil and Brian Kendrick were arguing on the outside. Samir tried to take Tozawa off the top rope, but Tozawa scored a rollup instead, getting the win.
After the match, the Singh brothers attacked the faces. They were about to hit Tozawa with their Bollywood award, but Kendrick got them to back off. Tozawa then posed with the trophy, which Samir was super pissed about.
Grade: C. Effective match, but boring. The Singh Brothers are good heels, but they are not very good wrestlers. The match wasn’t all that good, but I do like to see Tozawa.
Then we had a video package featuring Humberto Carrillo, just getting to know him. Fun times.
Then we had Mike Kanellis vs. a jobber. Kanellis came out without Maria, so I guess they are actually carrying the story from Raw into this match, which suuuuuuuuucks. Maria was watching from backstage. Kanellis won after some of his normal transitional moves, nothing huge or impressive. He hit the power of love for the win.
He kept attacking the jobber, and then got on the mic. He called out Drake Maverick, and yelled at him about how much he is worth. Maverick came out, and stood in the ring with him. Mike said that he could have left WWE, but he didn’t. He wanted to be the Cruiserweight Champion, and he wanted to kick Maverick’s ass. Maverick said that his performance in the division was his own fault. They both jabbed at their rolls on the other shows, which was clever. Maverick said that he wouldn’t fight him, but Kanellis yelled back at him that he has been neglecting his duties, and making the cruiserweights look like idiots with the whole 24/7 stuff. He said that Maverick isn’t a man, because men don’t back down from fights. He got right up in Maverick’s face and was insulting him inches from his face. He started to insult his wife, and Maverick went ballistic.
Grade: A-. This was a good promo. Finally we are getting a feud between these two, probably an actual match, and that will be very exciting. I just wish they weren’t being used in completely different roles on Raw and Smackdown, because it kinda takes me out of it. But this was awesome. They are incredible on the mic, and I hope we get some more promos like this before we move on to an actual match.
And in the main event, a rematch from the botch a few weeks or months ago. Jack Gallagher vs. Chad Gable. The two shook hands before they started, and went right into some grappling. They went hold for hold with each other, and kept trying to one up each other with interesting counters and escapes. The two eventually progressed into heavy strikes and power moves, which they both showed in spectacular fashion. At one point, Gallagher went for a suicide dive, but Gable failed to really catch him. He then picked Gallagher up and gave him the same high angle german from their last match. However, when Gable went to beat the count, he decided against it and threw Gallagher back in the ring. Gable then gave Gallagher a huge powerbomb, and reversed the kickout into an ankle lock, where he looked a lot like Kurt Angle. In an awesome move, Gable caught Gallagher as he went for a corner dropick, and then flipped him into a DDT for a near fall. Gable then went for a moonsault, but Gallagher countered with a foot in the gut and a vicious corner dropkick, but still a near fall. In the finish Gable was eventually able to counter a superplex into a crossbody, giving Gallagher a chaos theory for the win.
After the match, Gable helped Gallagher to his feet, and then walked away without words.
Grade: A-. Yeah, they certainly lived up to the hype from their previous match. They started with some fantastic mat stuff, and slowly built things up until they had the crowd in the palm of their hands. These two are supremely talented and work great together, so I’m glad we actually got to see this match. Gable looks like the future of the 205 Live division, so I hope to see more of him here rather than on the main roster. If WWE doesn’t know how to use some of their smaller guys, send them to 205 Live, they will be used well.
Overall Grade: B+
Pros: Maverick and Kanellis Promo; main event
Cons: Tozawa vs. Samir
