Timah, the Malaysian made 2020 San Francisco award winning Whisky. It might be award winning but not my liking . Warm yellow undertone. It’s very, very, extremely peaty. Drank it pure with just ice and water. Definitely had a peppery palate taste, oaky. First sip for me be like, *cringe face* now I remember why I don’t like whiskey since I was 17. They say you develop taste for whiskey as you grow older, but this was still just ew for me. Haters be hating but hey it’s my diary 📔. Anyway TGIF! A massive thank you to the little elf that put me on this gifted list 🎁 I was over the moon when the postman came this morning. Bringing a wonderful boozy @drinksbythedram Gin Advent Calendar, the likes of which I haven't seen for a while now! I loved these when they first came out. Then after a few years writing on the contents every day in December I fancied a little break but I did miss it! This turning up today has been a lovely surprise and I cannot wait for it all to begin, because this box is going to be jam packed with all sorts of tasty tipples! I am dreaming of a Gin Christmas and the countdown is really on now! 🎄 I have created 2 delicious little gin sips from the gifts of Gin in this incredible @drinksbythedram Advent Calendar. 🎄 I used the Peaky Blinder Spiced Dry Gin and Kent Dry Gin to create these 2 delicious sips. 🎄 30ml Gin 15ml Fresh Orange Juice Candied Ginger Muddle the Ginger in a cocktail shaker and add the juice and gin. Shake vigorously until combined. Double strain into glorious Christmas glasses. I think I’m actually just as excited for the 1st December as I am for the 25th, thanks to @drinksbythedram 😍. Their advent calendar is filled with booze and because I’m living with three of my best friends, we can all take it in turns to enjoy the tipple of the day. In my eyes, this is the perfect way to countdown to Christmas, with their award winning samples of the finest sprits all in one advent calendar. My only issue with a dram is that there isn't a second one! I do like to be able to really test a gin in plenty of ways, well at least that is my excuse for a gin a day, its research! That said being able to get a feel and taste for a new gin without splashing out is no bad thing. I reckon this gin is worth splashing out on though. @sadlers_ales Peaky Blinder spiced dry gin is a much more delicately spiced gin than I was expecting and no less delicious for it. Mr Gintabica and I thought it had a more liquor like flavour, like moonshine, but this was not a bad thing, it gave it a really spicy, dryness that was complemented by the addition of a dry slice of grapefruit. I opted for @fevertreemixers tonic but I had read somewhere that fever tree aromatic tonic is a good pairing so now I want to try that too! I think this will be a great winter gin, warming and medicinal, not like the exotic summer-y flavour of Opihr, something more British, more subtle. That said maybe it would be a more appropriate choice for what is turning out to be a long cold spring!
