My love got me THE Dressing a Galaxy book for Christmas I’m gonna lose my mindddd!!!

While it’s true that Padmé didn’t want Anakin to give up on his life as a Jedi, precisely because she was okay to settle, she’d have Anakin in her life regardless due to them being so intertwined in their lives, and because Padmé is loyal to justice and she knows Anakin is a hero most needed by the Republic, and most of all she couldn’t bare to see the love of her life give up on his life long career and childhood passion just for her (even if that’s what he truly wanted overall.) it’s important to remember that Padmé also shared Anakin’s dream of wanting to run away and live peacefully together, raising their kids. And that this was her heart’s true desire.

She wanted to leave behind duty as far back as AOTC, and she says as much multiple times in the novelizations. Or even that she could just have the luxury to be Padmé and not Amidala from time to time.

Even by the time of ROTS, Padmé is keen on running away with Anakin. She said she wanted to raise their baby on Naboo. They’ve talked about it so much, and after Anakin convinced her that he wanted this as well, they both agreed to run away.

Padmé is also shown constantly asking Anakin to just leave with her when things starts going downhill in ROTS, she even says that all she wants is his love. She knows the Republic was failing, that’s why she helped put together the Rebellion, but after all that had happened, she only true desire was to leave with Anakin and their baby. Go somewhere with they can live peacefully and stay safe. Her inner truth vs her duty. She finally chose herself, and was going to run away with Anakin. She became more desperate for this dream of theirs the more he slipped away from her arms and we can see the very truth of this in her dialogue and through her expressions. It’s truly heartbreaking.

(Granted that it’s worth the mention how if in an AU, Anakin and Padmé managed to run way together, and live peacefully. They’d still be doing their parts on working to make the galaxy a better place. Their loyalty to peace and justice, and fighting oppression is a core value they both share. They’d work on the sidelines and from behind the scenes, doing what they can to contribute and help. It’s apart of who they are.)

Sharing this here as well - the well-known Star Wars costuming book Dressing A Galaxy has a limited edition that includes actual fabric samples, but is insanely rare and expensive. I managed to buy one of only 2500 of these in existence and I plan to scan the whole thing so noone else has to pay that ridiculous amount. If you pledge, you can get those scans as well!

Also I REALLY need that money back. No joke, this was four months' worth of my rent. Any little helps!

Thinking about how Padmé even after she dies, took pieces of Anakin with her and her spirit returns to the places which reminds her of him 💔

Yoda and OWK agreeing to bury Padmé with her Japor Snippet, because they can tell it was precious to her and OWK can feel the soaring echos of “transcendent love” alongside an “unendurable heartbreak.” 😢 thus Padmé took a piece of Anakin’s soul and heart with her to her grave (because the Japor Snippet always served as a proof of Anakin’s goodness, hence why she handed it to OWK in her dying moments confidently affirming him of her husband’s nature.)

And my absolute favourite, Trisha Bigger designing Padmé’s funeral dress based off the lakes on Naboo, to where Padmé’s spiritual return was because that’s where she and Anakin fell in love, and that’s the very same place she wanted to run away to with him.

Padmé said it herself that her and Anakin will always be together no matter what, they’re always going to be one. True soulmates. True loves. One and only.
