You know how some people train years and years for, like, the Olympics or something? Yeah that's me with motherhood
#guys i want to be a mom SO BAD YOU HAVE NO IDEA#i always have. ever since i was like a little girl#like my very first career day?#like you know how sometimes when you were little at school you'd have a say where you dressed up as what you wanted to be when you grew up?#yeah all my friends were doctors and firefighters and vets and stuff and here's four year old margin toddling in#dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with a baby doll in a miniature baby carrier#i was. a stay-at-home mom#and when you're four the kids are like oh! okay and you all go to snacktime and move on with your lives#but then you get older and you realize you're coming of age in a society that actively looks down on motherhood#and calls you “brainwashed” and says you have “internalized misogyny” and tells you that you'll be “wasting your life”#that “strong empowered women” don't have time for children. that “strong empowered women” actually KILL their children#before they even have a chance to take their first breath#because children will only get in the way of the careers of “strong empowered women”#and of course. me being the contrarian that i am. and also knowing the deep dignity and sacredness of motherhood.#i'm like. “screw that” (pardon the language)#and while i do want to be a teacher and a spiritual mother to my future students#my first and deepest desire for my earthly life is to raise a family. and if i must choose between my career and my children?#i will ALWAYS choose my children. /IF/ it comes to that. God willing it won't but if it does. i know what choice i'm making#and these are things i will be telling any prospective husband by the way.#i will only marry a man who is open to the possibility that at some point we /MIGHT/ be a single-income household#(in an ideal world i'd be able to be both a teacher and a devoted mom. God willing that's what my future holds)#but. anyway. yeah that's all i've got for now#margin rambles#motherhood
