Another banner for the Wildborn AU, featuring Arduinna Ward—aspiring Oracle Tract student of Chiro Academy—and her draconic mentor, Arwain the Seeress!

 Whereas Tristan and Aedh are aligned to the fire element, Rina and Arwain specialize in water magic, on the reasoning that scrying—another form of divination—employs the use of a reflective medium, be it a crystal ball or any body of water.

(On a side note, I also consider this practice for when I inevitably draw Sisu from Raya and the Last Dragon >v>)

So, I saw The Wild Robot on Saturday—tears were shed, and it has not left my head since, and I needed an outlet. One of these days, I’ll do something more cleaned up, but for now, have a little doodle I did at my work place.

Biological Description:

In the treacherous wastes of the Brimstone River, the sparse jungle that comprises its outskirts might seem a welcome respite...yet to the unwary, they are a death sentence. For when the night falls, a demon emerges, shrouded in a cloak of red mist. The wise know to flee in fear, whilst the brave roar their defiance, only to be met with blood-tipped spears. Life stolen in the blink of an eye, their bravery in the end amounting to nothing, as they become no more than food to this dark carnivore...

With all this in mind, the Buradogora quickly paints itself as a fearsome creature to both human and monster alike, yet it is not without reason. Given the limited range of its preferred forest habitat, most individuals of this species are fiercely territorial, competing amongst themselves along with other wyverns of similar caliber, including its relative Najarala who shares its locale. That said, the Blood Wyrm is just as likely to consume its rivals as it is to fight them off—its usage of the dragon element greatly accelerates its metabolism, rendering it an obligate hypervore. Anything and everything, to it, is fair game, provided it is not too much trouble to kill, thus making low tier monsters such as Larinoth and Bishaten their much preferred prey.

Such indiscriminate feeding, of course, is the only way to fuel the element that is both its strength and Achilles' heel. When it is hunting or in a fit of rage, dragon energy is discharged via vents in between the overlapping scales of its neck, collecting along its spines which act as conduits. At night when it is most active, this is often used to create a perpetual shroud, disguising its true form from prey whilst also intimidating would-be attackers. During battle, this collection of dragon element allows for the employment of particularly lethal attacks, one example being its ability to charge the spear-like growths on its tail before jamming them into the ground, causing a devastating elemental explosion that ruptures the terrain as well as harming anything unlucky enough to be within its vicinity. Breaking the tail, however, can dampen the impact of this, and the amount of dragon energy it has available to it can be reduced if its head and neck are broken as well.

I will admit, I do feel somewhat robbed seeing this, as this design could have worked just as well as, if not better than, the one we ended up getting in the final product.

That being said, I’m not mad about the loss of extra detail? Cause at the end of it, that’s all it really is. If you compare the two, there’s not really THAT much big of a difference.

The general silhouette is still the same between them, and I find that to be the more powerful element. The extra detail is a beautiful bonus, but I still enjoy the final version even without it.

Sketch will have the quickest turn around time, comprising a polished version of my rough drawings.

Clean Up has a moderate turn around time, comprising of line art and base colors, but otherwise no shading/rendering.

Shaded will have the longest turn around time, with the completed drawing possessing depth and rendering not present in the aforementioned types.

Dragons, dinosaurs, and anything reptilian in nature are my go-tos in regards to drawing. I do attempt to study all animal anatomy in general, however, and am more than willing to try out out other forms.

Humans I am also willing to do, though they do not shine as much as my creature designs.

Furry and Anthro characters I may attempt (price will not change) but bear in mind they are NOT my forte.

I am more than happy to assist in character design if needed. Price will vary depending on complexity, but the base is usually $50 as a standard.

If there is something you have in mind that isn't shown as an example, do not be afraid to ask me about it! I'm usually willing to try anything at least once! (Emotes, banners, icons, etc.)

Refunds are only valid for PayPal and Venmo payments. If you find that you are no longer satisfied with my services, a refund will be distributed based on the progress. A portion of the total price will be taken away depending on the stage the work is currently in. All canceled commissions will still receive a .png file of the artwork in the state that it is.

"I should have just gone bare-legged if I knew I was going to be wading this much, but that Kulu gear is literally the only armor I've got. Great for the desert and jungle, sure, but definitely not swamp wear. But who am I kidding, I'm too stubborn to swap for anything else.'

"Right. Context. The local ecologist wanted a report on some monster species that had been pushed from the Frost-laden Wastes, so Toru and I went out to go find some. Though I guess it's more accurate to say that they found us first. A pair of Giaprey—about my height, a little on the skinny side, and apparently more interested in chatting up a storm with Toru than fighting. I suppose it makes sense—these guys are supposed to be more social than their regular cousins.'

"That does make me wonder how Toru feels about all this, however. He's never really seen any of his own kind since...well, since we left Schrade. I know these two aren't exactly the same, but...who knows? Maybe this will be good for him. I hope it is."

“Raptorial Tendencies” Quest for Monster Hunter Riders!

"Toru and I tracked this monster for quite a bit, eventually taking us into a depression deep in the Badlands. The temperatures in the desert already can be overwhelming, but here, unless you're a monster specifically built to take it, you're practically asking to be cooked alive. The whole area is rife with geothermal springs and tectonic activity, with mineral buildup having accumulated here for what I can only assume to be centuries."

"In the New World, Dodogama feeds primarily on crystalburst. Here, there's no crystal, but the mineral buildup more than makes up for it, and we were lucky enough to catch our quarry in action as it dug up its next meal. The yellow deposits appear to be its favorite, so I pocketed some samples once it had moved on. Not exactly something I want to do again, however—the rotten egg smell is enough to make your stomach turn."
