Where are my Dredger enthusiasts at? (I love this lil fella!)

HC of the day: Used to be an Ex-sailor, traveling the sea to find high-quality scraps until p03 decided that dredging up the metals from the sea is more efficient and would help him get to the old_data. Dredger still misses sailin' around but it is what it is.

ALSO DO YOU SEE MY VISION???? (this is the second crackship I've come up with and obsessed over. first one being Trader and Grimora. don't ask. I just like old people being in love.)

Okay. Am I the only one who doesn't think Dredger is like grandpa vibes? Is that just me because of my experiences with my grandparents or more accurately lack there of?

Like what I see most often is he's really really old, and his relationship with P03, Inspector and Melter is really parental. Which is really nice at times, but I hate that it is ALL I see of him. And it kinda feels like people don't want to give him a personality beyond "grandparent bot"

Let's not forget that there are more age groups than just "young adult" and "grandparent". Personally, I feel like if Dredger were "grandparent vibes" he would be retired.

Personally i see him as a very kind and respectful late 20s - mid 30s gentleman.

I know he is somewhat rusted but that doesn't automatically mean old. He works in the part of the factory which is most exposed to the elements and the sea. Salt water+ sea spray+ wind + metal = not a good combination.

Exciting News Inside! Action No. 87, dated 12 November 1977. This was the final, final issue with the title being merged with Battle. Spinball's Black Gladiators look as if they are saying a farewell to the reader in the last panel but were back in the merged title.

Photo: U.S. Coast Guard On the afternoon of November 2, the 107 meter long, 11,014 dwt dredger Stuyvesant (IMO: 7915838) caught fire at the entrance to St. John’s River off Jacksonville, Florida. The fire started in the dredger’s engine room with the vessel requesting assistance. Both local authorities along with the U.S. Coast Guard dispatched crews to assist in extinguishing the blaze. Cavern Society: Dredger

A Dredger’s most obvious role is to help the newly descended reach shore, but it’s not like it is all that they do. It’s not just humans that drop from above, but objects and animals too. While most of the animals can at least make an attempt to swim, the objects are unlikely to be buoyant. And so it falls to the dredger to dive after them. Why not just let them collect at the bottom? Who said there was a bottom? This is a massive hole that takes ages to fall through, why would it stop at water level? And so the Dredgers race the objects to the depth of no return, hoping for some new thing from above that’ll shake up society.
