And we have the second archetype of Secret Slayers, which is technically the third archetype in the set, and it is actually three different co-working archetypes.

*First card is Eldlich the Golden Lord, which was revealed previously.

*Second card is Cursed El Dorlando, a Continuous Spell that forces you to only attack with Zombie monsters.

**Once per turn, you can pay 800 LP, add 1 Eldlich monster or Golden Land Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. 

**Once per turn, if this card is sent from Spell/Trap zone to GY, you can send 1 Eldlich monster or Golden Land Spell/Trap to the GY.

There is only one Eldlich monster so far, so keep an eye on this.

*Third card is Eldlixir of Black Awakening, a Normal Spell.

**Once per turn, Special Summon 1 Zombie monster from your hand or Deck in Defense Position. If you do not control an Eldlich monster, you can only Special Summon an Eldlich monster with this effect. For the rest of the turn after this effect resolves, you can only Special Summon Zombie monsters.

**Once per turn, you can banish this card from your GY, set one Golden Land Spell/Trap directly from your Deck to your field.

Second effect is fairly strong, since Golden Land cards are predominantly Traps, and specifically they are Trap Monsters, which will be discussed later.

*Fourth card is Eldlixir of White Fate, a Quick-Play Spell.

**Once per turn, Special Summon 1 Zombie monster from your hand or GY in Defense Position. If you do not control an Eldlich monster, you can only Special Summon an Eldlich monster with this effect. For the rest of the turn after this effect resolves, you can only Special Summon Zombie monsters.

**Once per turn, you can banish this card from your GY, set one Golden Land Spell/Trap directly from your Deck to your field.

This card is marginally better than Black Awakening, since outside of being a Quick-Play Spell, your Eldlich will likely be mostly in GY, since that is how Zombie decks work generally.

*Fifth card is Eldlixir of Red Splatter, a Normal Trap Card.

**Once per turn, Special Summon 1 Zombie monster from your Deck or GY in Defense Position. If you do not control an Eldlich monster, you can only Special Summon an Eldlich monster with this effect. For the rest of the turn after this effect resolves, you can only Special Summon Zombie monsters.

**Once per turn, you can banish this card from your GY, set one Golden Land Spell/Trap directly from your Deck to your field.

This card may seem weak, but the following Trap monsters can Set this card directly from the Deck, so this card is actually really strong, but people will likely prefer White Fate.

*Sixth card is Guardian of the Golden Land, a Continuous Trap Card.

**Once per turn, you can Special Summon this card to your Monster Zone as a Normal Monster (Zombie/LIGHT/Level 8/ATK 800/DEF 2500) (This is still treated as a Trap Card). Then, if you control Eldlich the Golden Lord, you can make 1 face-up monster’s ATK 0.

**Once per turn, during the End Phase, you can banish this card from your GY, set 1 Eldlixir Spell/Trap directly from your Deck to your field.

Our first Trap Monster, and it is the highest Level one so far. Its ATK is a bit too low, but second effect makes it. Sadly, it is also shared by others. Use him for Rank 8 shenanigans.

*Seventh card is Huaquero of the Golden Land, a Continuous Trap Card.

***Once per turn, you can Special Summon this card to your Monster Zone as a Normal Monster (Zombie/LIGHT/Level 5/ATK 1800/DEF 1500) (This is still treated as a Trap Card). Then, if you control Eldlich the Golden Lord, you can banish 1 card from either GY.

**Once per turn, during the End Phase, you can banish this card from your GY, set 1 Eldlixir Spell/Trap directly from your Deck to your field.

Probably the best Trap Monster overall. You can use it for Rank 5 shenanigans, since it is still a bit weak for a Level 5 monster.

*Eighth card is Conquistador of the Golden Land, a Continuous Trap Card.

***Once per turn, you can Special Summon this card to your Monster Zone as a Normal Monster (Zombie/LIGHT/Level 5/ATK 500/DEF 1800) (This is still treated as a Trap Card). Then, if you control Eldlich the Golden Lord, you can destroy 1 face-up card.

**Once per turn, during the End Phase, you can banish this card from your GY, set 1 Eldlixir Spell/Trap directly from your Deck to your field.

The summon effect is actually good since it doesn’t seem to target. But since it is weaker than Huaquero in terms of ATK, you will only use it for Rank 5 shenanigans and field clearance.

*Ninth card is Everglorious Golden Land, a Counter Trap.

**Once per turn, when a Spell/Trap card or monster effect is activated, and you control 1 Eldlich monster, Tribute 1 Zombie monster, negate the activation and if you do destroy it.

Very standard but good Counter Trap.

*Tenth card is El Dorado Adalento, a Normal Trap Card. If you control an Eldlich monster, you can activate one of these two effects.

**Once per turn, you can Shuffle 3 of your banished Eldlxir Spell/Trap cards with different names into the Deck, and if you do, destroy all cards on the field.

**Once per turn, you can Shuffle 3 of your banished Golden Land Spell/Traps with different names into the Deck, and if you do, halve your opponent’s LP, and then gain that amount of LP.

Second effect is considerably better, but the first effect is a very nice suicide effect that is irrelevant in a Zombie deck.

The overall theme of this archetype, or rather archetypes is to protect the Golden Lord as much as possible, and if it is destroyed resummon it.

Because the archetypes depend on Trap Monsters, it is better to use Xyz Monsters alongside it, rather than Synchros, despite the fact that Uni-Zombie is being reprinted with this theme.

A lot of people correctly assumed this theme would have only one monster, due to Eldlich’s slot in the Secret Slayers as the first card, despite being the cover boss monster. However, a lot of people assumed the deck would be similar to Sky Strkers or a mill focused Deck, and I guess I am one of the few ones that rightly speculated it would be focused on Trap Monsters, since that is generally how Continuous Traps are used in these sort of themes.

I adored the Eldlich’s design from the get go, and I absolutely adore the overall design of the theme, even if some artworks are not as pretty as others.

With Adamatia covering 14 cards, and next currently unknown Plant archetype covering 12 cards, this theme seems to be the shortest, being composed of only 10 cards. Hopefully this means further support, because we need more LIGHT Zombies and more archetype-specific Zombies overall.
