its 1am and i have no life. heres another drdt post. it's about ace and levi now.

drdt ch2 ep16 spoilers

levi and ace. levi served as the one person ace considered to be a friend in the killing game, whereas levi could never understand ace no matter how hard he tried and found himself getting frustrated.

these two never got their proper goodbye - the last thing pretty much that levi will remember ace saying to him is how he should kill himself (or something close to that). he's too busy being full of holes like a bloody sponge to hear ace yelling at arturo to save levi. teruko ruined their last goodbye with her arrogance. which is a bold statement but like. girl. it would've taken you literally a few steps out of the way 😭 this is NOT your main character moment!!!

ace's execution just served to prove how deep rooted his fear was, to the point where it could be considered pathetic maybe. even knowing it was prolonging the possible death of his friend, ace was still so scared to die, scared enough to risk anyone's life. he did it with arei, and was prepared to get everyone killed to win the class trial, and even while levi was bleeding out, ace still fought for his own life. he was telling monotv to 'get it over with quickly', but he then did the exact opposite. ace couldn't live up to the bravery he had to try and conjure up out of nowhere. the fact that he even tried in the first place, for levi, amazes me, since he's been so mortified by the idea of dying throughout this whole game.

i wonder how levi will be when he wakes up. he risked his own life for someone else despite having no empathy for others. does he really have no empathy for others? he seemed upset about never understanding ace, no matter what, but was that just about his death or about the missed opportunity? i can't say for certain whether levi really viewed ace as just that 'distant stranger' he described people as (because im sleepy), but either way.. no more husbands!!! :)

Ace's motive to kill arei is so human. Its the greedy selfish human feeling and justification that he wanted to live and he is scared of dying. He had a completely normal reaction to being put in a killing game, he is a teen, a young adult at best. And not sleeping at night because u know that tomorow u might die just because someone has your fate in theyre hands is so natural, it's just like sayaka all over again, if ur put in a situation where its either you or 14 other people, the most understanble reaction IS picking yourself, no matter ur morals or sence of ethics, nothing will make you logically pick others over yourself unless you are a genuine good person. (Which is also relative)

Can u tell I like ace ? Can u tell I have too much free time ?

DRDT CHAP 2 EP 16 spoilers

Doing research on cardiac arrest (for character design) and I wanna let yall know. It usually takes minutes for someone to die via cardiac arrest. So Ace's body was lying there, slowly dying, for minutes. :)

DRDT CHAP 2 EPISODE 15 SPOILERS

This is about the tape (again), spoilers under cut!

So that was a crazy episode and it's all I've been thinking about for the past 12 hours but anyways. I'm genuinely so confused how Ace took the tape? So he woke up after being almost killed, grabbed the roll of masking tape (which masking tape is huge, I mean like most masking tape is as big as hand) and then ran off with it, in his hands???

I just don't understand HOW he took the tape without Teruko or Eden noticing? It's not like he has a bag to put the tape in or anything, so surely at least Teruko would've noticed a roll of masking tape in his hands.

I might be missing a detail or something, so if anyone has an explanation for it PLEASE SHARE, its been bugging me for hours

Whit the man that you are what is this man wth is this new whit sprite. I screamed so bad when I saw this wth. I may redraw this I am so ill cause wth is this

ALSO THE WAY HE KEPT CARING FOR CHARLES EVEN WHEN TERUKO WAS ALMOST GOING TO DIE AND WHEN LEVI PROTECTED HER LIKE ???? BRO DGAF THAT THE REST ARE DEAD THAT IS SO WTH

Also the end with teruko and blaming herself. All the ace/arei and teruko parallels like man. Thats so sad and crazy istg.

Motivation problems, weak willed in some ways, when I get upset due to other people, I do sometimes repeat stuff other people have said (if it's about me-) David does that- Example- MonoTV criticizes him for interrupting it's speech- David later says basically the same thing just in a ruder way. Also I believe Teruko says something about how everyone else is going to die, but also David says that in/after the first trial and then he pretty much said it during the second trial- Also, I guess I have similar clothing to him- and ik he doesn't like his star hairclip- but I do like celestial/galaxy things and would gladly wear it- and I can be sarcastic and snarky sometimes- I used to be worse with it in the past- Also August birthday-

Veronika:

I like horror, not as much as she does- but still- We have the same birthday my natural hair color had streaks in it- I don't like boredom. I rant a lot when I like something-

J:

I used to dress very girly when I was younger- I like doing SFX (Even if it's just SFX makeup-) I do not like pink by itself- I have dyed hair

Whit:

I try to joke to distract myself tbh- I sometimes wear my hoodies/jackets like he does- but mine are long sleeved- I have dyed hair

DRDT Headcanons!! (1/idk)

Decided to post some headcanons for various characters!! (there might be some mild projection on my favourites lol) idk if i'll do more for other characters?? Also, sorry for less Teruko HCs,,, i meant to do 5 for each but uh,,, you can tell who my favourites are i guess??

Also, disclaimer, these are headcanons!! I wrote these before Chap 2 Part 2, they may be disproven and become out of date in the future!!

Ace:

He grew up on a farm.

His parents had a ton of kids in the hopes that at least one would be successful. Whoever got the best test results/ won an award/ has the highest salary (based on age, idk how old Ace's siblings are) was the favourite and showered with attention.

This meant Ace and his siblings grew up willing to literally and metaphorically shove eachother face first in the mud to be the favourite child. There was a lot of sabotage, insults and threats constantly.

He struggles to form meaningful friendships due to trust issues.

He'll hold a grudge for years. He probably still despises and talks shit about some kid who stole his chair when they were 6 or something.

He used to love animals until one day he woke up and the world was more terrifying than he remembered. The comforting bark of a dog is now a horrifying sound that sends him spiraling with panic.

He's overly sensitive to light and sound.

He chews his lip, bites his nails and scratches his arms/wrists when bored or uncomfortable. Maybe that's why he always wears gloves, to do less damage?

Nico:

Sometimes when it's too much they'll go non verbal. They're fluent in sign language as a result.

They sometimes judge the things people name their pets. They'd never say it out loud but they think certain pets have really stupid names.

They struggle with tone, often coming across as sarcastic and fed up when they're being genuine.

If they get postively overwhelmed (like flustered due to compliments etc.) they make cat noises instead of speaking (like meows, chirps, etc.). They find in really embarrassing.

If they are in a downward spiral, they'll grip something (their cloak, hair, a soft toy, etc.) and just hold on to try and ground themselves.

Nico took a couple skirts from the dress-up room to wear in private.

In a non killing game au, they'd join Rose in painting more frequently. They end up preferring watercolours though.

They may have a journal where they might talk shit about certain individuals in the class.

Teruko:

Despite her trust issues and bad luck with relationships, she's a romantic at heart. It may take a while for her to admit her feelings but she'd like someone to give her flowers and take her to dinner just as much as anyone else.

She likes horror films because she can experience the thrill without being in danger. I think she'd also like those rollar coaster simulators since an actual rollar coaster would probably be too dangerous with her luck.

She loves sliced cheese because she can avoid having to cut cheese with a knife. Similarly, she'll spread spreads with a spoon because it's less risking than with a knife.

Due to constantly moving, she owned a couple of those plastic picnic sets (the plate, bowl, cup sets) and had to wash them frequently. As a result she's secretly super grateful to Hu and Eden for cleaning after meals because it's one less thing to worry about.

She had to remind Charles to seperate his dark and light washing a couple times, even after the initial explanation of washing machines.

Levi:

He's on the Asexual spectrum. Like he'd never consider it himself but if his partner wanted to, he'd be comfortable with it because he likes making his partner happy.

He's usually trying to keep the peace but he will argue with friends or customers if they try to pick/buy a god awful outfit.

He worked at a boutique before becoming a personal stylist. He kept giving customers unwanted fashion advice that made their outfits the talk of the town. Word spread and after a little while people started showing up for the advice.

Does not understand humour or sarcasm at all.

He's fond of baby animals but would never hold one out of fear of hurting it.

In a non killing game au, he'd probably find out peoples fashion preferences so he can get them suitable clothes as presents.

He's probably the only cast member to politely listen to Veronika's rambles without wanting to throw up. He'd probably get roped into movie nights after Arturo and Ace triple locked their doors to avoid such movie nights.

Various people have caught him raiding sweet foods (sometimes even just eating sugar straight out the bag) at like 3am on multiple occasions.

Ermmm okay.... how do I even start. ACEVI SHIPPERS WE LOW KEY WON, them yelling a at eachother was really sad but I cant belive they ACTUALLY had a moment, Levi saving teruko was so crazy, mono TV really is cruel, making ace die quickly because he knew if he stalled for time Levi would die IS EVIL. I actually love this trial end, a minute of silence for ace pls.

I really liked the execution, maybe it would have been fin for it to be related to horses or maybe even his 3D but I like that fact that he died of a fear induced heart attack it very like him. UM PROPS TO THE VOICE ACTORS???? Specifically ace, teruko and Levi, the art was gorgeous, drdt devs ate (our hearts) once again. I really wanna see levi's reaction to knowing ace died early so Levi could survive.

[DRDT CHAP 2 EPISODE 7 SPOILERS]

okay so everyone knows this whit line right??

no, i'm not going to bring up the hanging joke, but i do wanna talk about it! it says a lot about whit's perception of the situation.

in this line, whit's talking about arei as if shes perfectly fine. this is after monotv implied that she was dead, so i find that alone quite interesting. it's as if he's in denial about the situation, insisting to himself that arei is fine, she's just resting somewhere! it's not like monotv was being subtle about it, and even if it was whit surely would have caught onto its meaning by the other's reactions. it says a lot about how he deals with the situation. if you don't acknowledge the reality of the situation, it can't get to you! not to mention him and arei seemed to be quite close, or at the very least on good terms. this is also supported by his reaction to min's execution, which i'm sure we don't have to go over. in conclusion, to quote @/charwhit-syndrome,

"For Whit, it's simple. Immerse yourself in the sea of blissful ignorance, where you can hear nothing but your own sweet and saccharine delusions."

just a little thing i noticed!! spoilers for danganronpa despair time chapter 2 :)

i was rewatching a little bit, as i havent kept up with the series in a while and needed a recap. i screenshotted the rules because i got an odd feeling.

i noticed something. rule 14 is a bit vague. it says:

'All murderers must be held accountable for their crimes.'

i know this is definitely supposed to refer to execution but it gives me a weird feeling idk i feel like there could be a twist to this? again, could be for a more sinister effect, but the rules of the blackened and what happens in the case of a murder are explained earlier, in rules 2, 3 and 4.

so i had a bit of a thought?

we know that levi is a murderer, right? he admitted it himself.

rule 14 says all murderers must be held accountable for their actions, not just blackeneds. levi said he was never held accountable for his actions, because hope's peak cleared them or something i forgot?

so isn't levi technically breaking a rule??

sorry if im kind of clutching at straws here but i feel like this would be a good twist, like maybe him and ace get executed together considering ace is a blackened and levi supposedly admitted to breaking school rules

not sure tho, even if it was true monotv has been lax on rules, he let arei put a rope around his neck etc i don't think it's too likely

any feedback on this? tagging it as a theory, but it's more of a rant thingy :D

Anyway, as ironic as Ace's death was, he's not really gonna look that much different in my Ghost AU, unfortunately. I'll probably look at the execution again to see if I can give him anything extra. (Like making him damp due to the "fear of drowning section")
