I think Elysium is probably in their early 40s but looks/acts more like... early 30s. so people don't realize how much shit they've done before this current endeavor

It's alot of scavenged materials making close, functional buildings. Things aren't frivolous unless they can afford to be. Dragons tend to build their homes or shops (usually connected, to save space) out of whatever they used to travel through the Abiding Boneyard to the clan. Wagons, motorcycles, cars, the odd wrecked plane. They're all usually too beat up to function anymore, so tearing them up or building into them often seems like the best option before just buying or building a new means of transportation. Otherwise, any scrap metal, stone, or wood to be found or bought is used. Windows tend to be reinforced heavily, but aren't necessarily hard to come by, with sandstorms bringing materials in regularly.

Most roofs and floors are made of similarly scavenged materials. Animal hides, old leather, abandoned clothing and blankets found in the wilderness, dried out wood, thin layers of stone, even more scrap metal for places that need protection. Water waste from sinks and showers tends to be piped over metal roofs and the side of these metal buildings (its no less clean than unpurified wasteland water, really) to keep them from overheating. Otherwise, rope nets (often adorned with bones, amber creations, or other trinkets), and sometimes entire layers of fabric on top of that, laid over these walls and roofs warn dragon not to touch.

There's also a few ruins about (such as a broken cathedral and old church) and odd, gigantic obsidian buildings that the clan was originally built around (one serves as the clan center, but another at its edge has been claimed by the Coven). They're typically treated as "first come, first serve," but Hela still has to approve the claim.

Despite everything, the place is still almost a beacon in the Scarred Wasteland.

Is there a specific style to them? What’s the location like and why are the houses shaped/made the way they are? 

Are they built to the environment?

Houses on stilts for areas that flood often? Tunnels, dens, and huts woven out of the tall grasses in the area because there’s no trees? Stone buildings built to withstand the hottest fires?

anyways here's my guardsbians

First is Lucienne, a librarian whose charge is language in general. As long as she's helping spread literature, she's protecting it. Which means she has free time to get to know her (rather cute) new friend Ptolema better...

Next off is Ptolema, who's on the Search for her charge and... hasn't exactly figured out that Lucienne, who she's got a massive crush on and hates imagining being without, is just what she's been looking for.

Third is Chthonia. She doesn't know she's a lesbian yet and is kind of in a state of perpetual confusion and anxiety. Also she has no tail. It's fine.

Then it's Charmeine, whose charge is her wife Lyska. She used to be a singer, and would love to get back to that life, but has had to go on the run with Lyska after some threats arise.

Last is Lyska, whose charge is a (nondescript) artifact which curses its claimed wielder over time. But as long as her wife, Charmeine, has it more often than her, the curse shouldn't disfigure her further. Unfortunately, they've got some dragons on their tail looking to obtain the artifact and forcibly make it unclaim her through the only lethal method which works, making them go on the run...

Hela: Since I know first-hand the kind of trauma cults cause and the ways they can harm a clan, I'm going to personally ensure that my clan will never harbor any.

Hecate and Klesyn: *create an extremely secretive coven with no discernable motives that continually brings more shady dragons into the clan, but doesn't seem to pose a threat yet*

Elysium: *starts gathering and sheltering undead dragons under promises of sanctuary and spiritual redemption, but while also staying fairly open with Hela about their intentions and actions and not helping anyone too dangerous yet*

Leech and Ira are just casual because, 1) they're basically coworkers so it'd be awkward if it didn't work out, 2) Ira says, "No, you may not see me with my guard down, how dare you try to find my weakness," when Leech does so much as softly touch hir cheek and fluster Ira for 1 (one) moment, 3) if Leech ever tried to be honest about what she really wants them to be, it'd just go like;

Ambrose for the dating thing?

Pros of dating Ambrose:

- smells like incense all the time? actually might not be a pro but you do certainly have to deal with it

- he would be a very upstanding gentleman. very careful not to make you uncomfortable or unhappy

- soft. soft? soft.

- doesn't care about looks, both because he's a pale coatl and because he can barely see through his cloak

Cons of dating Ambrose:

- completely oblivious to flirting, even from other coatls

- he would be a very upstanding gentleman. no kissing til marriage and no hand holding til you're courting

- would probably drink a lava lamp if he knew no one was watching. he knows it's bad but. forbidden juice? also he just drinks olive oil with his morning milk or coffee in the morning sometimes. says he likes the "bite"

- collects candles. either doesn't light them or forgets to put them out

I love Charmeine and Lyska so much and one thing's been stuck in my mind

Like, imagine, you meet this woman, she's beautiful, and she invites you to a performance of hers. You go, because you'd be an idiot not to, and she's a lounge singer which, of course, absolutely slaughters you, because you're a simple gal. You keep talking to her and going to her performances. And then, about a week in, this woman, the most gorgeous and talented woman you've ever met, just kind of nervously goes "Hey, can I talk to you in private?" which, oh gods, that could be anything. So you talk to her and she's slightly freaking out and just goes "Yeah, so... I think you're my Charge. Hope that's cool with you?" at which point, well fuck you're in this for the long run then.
