Most common problem with toilet The most common problem with toilets can vary, but some frequently encountered issues include: 1. Clogged Toilet: This occurs when excessive toilet paper, foreign objects, or waste build-up obstructs the drain pipes, causing water to flow slowly or stop completely. 2. Running Toilet: A common issue where water constantly runs into the toilet bowl even when it's not being flushed. This can waste water and may be caused by a faulty flapper valve or a problem with the fill valve. 3. Leaking Toilet: When water leaks from the base or tank of the toilet, it can cause damage to the floor and waste water resources. The cause may be a faulty wax seal, loose bolts, or a cracked tank or bowl. 4. Weak Flush: If your toilet doesn't flush properly, it could be due to a partial blockage in the trap way or drain pipe, issues with the flapper valve, or inadequate water level in the tank. 5. Overflowing Toilet: This can be caused by a blockage in the drain pipe, a malfunctioning fill valve, or a problem with the float mechanism. It can lead to water damage and should be addressed promptly. If you are experiencing any of these common toilet problems, it's best to consider contacting a plumber.

The septic saga continues. The tank is drained but I heard gurgling from my toilet. I assumed it was just air but it didn't stop so I went to check it out. Toilet and bathtub were both filling from the drain, I've had a bad day already and now I'm panicked at 7pm thinking I need an emergency plumber. I think there's just a blockage in the pipe between my bathroom and the tank. I plunged it carefully several dozen times and both toilets are flowing normally. Very done with today

It's so great that Jon just assumes Georgie's worried about the tape recorder and she has to be like, 'No, idiot, I'm worried about you!' with a side note of 'I use actual recording equipment at my job.'
Georgie is trying so hard to reach out and be there for Jon and he's just like ...alright, I can take a hint. :( I'll move out. :(
Hurray!! It's Sebastian Skinner!! I often joke about statement-givers (and Archivists) being oblivious, so naturally I'm a fan of the most oblivious man in the podcast.
Okay, time to start a List of Things Sebastian Failed to Notice:
Megan is a literal mannequin with a painted on face and a suit of stolen skin.
Also, I've gone back and forth in the past on whether Megan is Nikola or not. There's definitely evidence both ways, but I think I've settled on her being a random Stranger avatar and not Nikola.
Love Megan posing dramatically in the entrance, expecting terror and screaming, and then being thrown by Sebastian's absolute inability to notice anything ever. She simply has no idea what to do with this man.
List of Things Sebastian Failed to Notice:
Megan is a literal mannequin with a painted on face and a suit of stolen skin.
The room she took him into smelled like blood because there was a pile of bodies in the corner.
There was a pile of bodies in the corner.
Also it was full of still-living decapitated heads being skinned.

The people doing the skinning were not people at all.
A massive pool of blood around the drain he is actively working on.
Poor Megan, so uneqipped to deal with Sebastian's single minded focus on plumbing that she has to resort to just straight up telling him that's she's going to cut his skin off. And he still doesn't react!

A literal mannequin whispering threats to skin him alive.
I wonder how Megan thought this was going to go. Like, obviously she wanted to terrify the plumber and take his skin, but she's been actively trying to show him horrors from the moment he arrived. What about the blocked plumbing? It's broken and needs to be fixed, that's why she called the plumber in the first place. Unless she was just going through the phonebook and calling anyone with a thematically appropriate surname? But that doesn't make sense because the pipes were actually blocked. If she needed him to do the job, shouldn't she have been trying to hide the horrors from him until after the blockage was removed, and then take him to the flensing room?
I know it doesn't matter because Sebastian the champion simply did not see, but I'm still confused about how this was supposed to play out.
I think that Jude's presence here indicates that the Stranger and the Desolation are allied with each other in a similar way to how the Eye and the Lonely are allied. Megan called Jude in to help her clean up her flensing warehouse by burning everything down and Jude agreed because it's mutually beneficial to both their Entities.
First up, the clown costume. It's totally valid to read Megan as being Nikola, but I still think she's a seperate thing. The colours of the costume are the same as how Nikola has previously been described, but without the pom-poms that I think are essential to the look (although it's very possible that Sebastian simply did not notice them). This is a meta point, but I also think the podcast has moved on from casting Nikola as a generic clown and promoted her to the role of ringmaster. In universe, she should be wearing a ringmaster's outfit by this point.
My read on how Sebastian is involved is that Megan realised that his utter lack of ability to be aware/afraid of things being just slightly wrong makes him utterly unsuitable to feeding the Stranger, so she's offering him to the Desolation in payment for Jude's help. That's the meaning behind Megan and Jude's exchange when he arrives and the reason why Jude starts laughing.

A Hard Day’s Work
Koopa Castle may be a mighty fortress, but it’s not without its share of mundane problems. Luigi is happy to take any plumbing job that pays, and his expertise finds appreciation from an unlikely source – the Koopa King himself.
1,385 words · Rated G · (Also on AO3)
“All the sinks and drains on the east wing of the second level are overflowing,” Kamek explained, wringing his claws in agitation. “It’s not the lava, not this time. I’m afraid there might be something blocking the pipes.”
Luigi nodded in sympathy. “That sounds like a problem. I’ll see what I can do.”
“So I’ll leave you to it, then?” Kamek asked.
“I’d appreciate if you’d have someone escort me. I don’t know my way around the castle as well as, ah. Some people.”
“Oh! Yes. Of course, of course.”
Kamek adjusted his glasses and called for one of the guards, who gave Luigi a shallow bow before gesturing for him to follow. “I’ll send someone to check on you soon,” the wizard said before disappearing in a puff of light and glitter.
“Does he do that a lot?” Luigi asked the guard, who managed to keep a straight face for a few seconds before breaking into a grin.
“Gosh. Luigi, sir. It’s amazing to meet you!”
“Charmed, I’m sure.”
“I heard the boss called a plumber, but I never dreamed it would be, you know, a celebrity. Wow. Luigi himself, right here in this castle!”
The guard continued to chatter as he guided Luigi through a maze of stairs and corridors. Despite the brutal shock and awe of the first floor, the second level was actually quite pleasant. Or rather, it would have been were it not for the water flowing down the main hallway in murky trickles.
“I can take it from here, thanks.” It was rude to leave the guard behind so abruptly, but Luigi figured it was only a matter of time until the koopa began asking about Mario. In Luigi’s experience, the only people who treated him as though he was famous had ulterior motives. More often than not, they were not-so-subtly attempting to bask in the reflected glory of his brother. He’d been hurt by this before, but now he saw it coming a mile away and simply found it annoying.
Luigi followed the water to its source, a room dominated by a huge bath. The tub was so enormous that it was more of a swimming pool, really. Aside from a shallow pool of standing water at the bottom of the tiled basin, the floor was dry.
No doubt about it. The blockage was in the pipe connected to this drain. Luigi set down his equipment, rolled up his sleeves, and got to work.
Less than ten minutes later, he’d managed to extract a Mario doll. What it was doing in this particular castle or how it got down this particular drain was anyone’s guess.
“Just can’t stop yourself from causing trouble, can you, brother?” Luigi muttered as he wrapped the battered doll in a waterproof sheet of plastic to be disposed of later. Once the stagnant water disappeared from the tub, he set out into the hallway to check the other drains.
There were no chains or spikes or lava pits in any of the bathrooms, which were shockingly normal despite being built to accommodate people of varying sizes. This wing of the castle must have been intended for guests, not that Luigi could imagine who those guests might be. He had little interest in Mario’s battles, but even he understood that the Koopa King wasn’t big on diplomacy.
As he tested the faucets in what he hoped was the last of the bathrooms, Luigi felt a chill on the back of his neck. He glanced into the mirror and was horrified by the sight that confronted him. A dark shadow towered in the doorway, its red eyes glowing.
“Can I help you?” Luigi asked, hoping against hope that whoever it was couldn’t hear the quiver in his voice.
“I came to check on you. You know, see if you need anything.”
Luigi summoned his courage and turned around. Just as he feared, the person Kamek had sent to check on him was Bowser himself, as tall as a mountain and just as wide.
“No. I’m, um. I’m done here. All finished. I’ll just be going… now.”
“Not so fast,” Bowser growled.
Luigi swallowed but couldn’t respond. His voice was frozen in his throat.
“Aren’t you going to write an invoice?” Bowser asked.
Luigi doubted he could write his own name at the moment. What did Bowser intend to do with him? With a sinking feeling, Luigi realized that he and Bowser were completely alone in an otherwise empty room on an otherwise empty floor.
“I’ll send you, um. I’ll put the invoice in the mail,” he stammered.
“Sure.” Bowser shrugged. “I’ll have my people keep an eye out. So what’s the damage?”
Luigi shot a glance at Bowser’s fangs. “The… damage?”
Bowser furrowed his massive eyebrows. “Is everything okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“A ghost?”
“Wait. You didn’t actually see a ghost, did you? Cause we got ghosts. Little buggers get into everything. We try to keep them in the basement, but there’s not much you can do if they decide they’re going places. Not like we can put gates on the stairs, right? You wouldn’t boo-lieve how much trouble they are.”
Bowser laughed at his own joke and exited the room. He held the door open for Luigi, who was beginning to entertain the possibility that he was not in fact on the verge of being murdered.
“I wouldn’t call it ‘damage,’ per se,” Luigi ventured, “but someone shoved a, um. I found a toy down one of the drains. It was the large bath down the hall.”
“That’ll be one of the kids. The castle is lousy with them. Wish I could stick them in the basement with the ghosts, but that’d be cruel to the ghosts.”
Luigi couldn’t tell whether Bowser was joking. He decided it was probably best if he didn’t know. “The toy was unsalvageable, but the drains are clear. You might want to open the windows and put some portable fans on the floor, if you have them. Mold spreads fast, even in dry air. You can’t be too careful.” A thought suddenly occurred to him. “No offense against mushrooms.”
Bowser laughed in appreciation. “You’re not bad, Luigi,” he said. “So what do we owe you?”
That was a tricky question. Back at home, a job like this was barely worth the price of a house call. What would a king expect him to charge? Was someone like him supposed to charge a king money to begin with? Bowser wasn’t the sort of clientele he was accustomed to, to say the least.
“Don’t worry about it,” Luigi replied. “It wasn’t any trouble. Let’s say this was a service, and you’ll know who to call the next time there’s a problem.”
“That doesn’t seem fair. You came all the way out from Toad Town.”
“I live in the suburbs, so the commute wasn’t bad. Besides, there’s not much use for money in a post-scarcity economy. I mean, ah.” Luigi glanced away, embarrassed to catch himself speaking as though Bowser was just another guy in Brooklyn.
“I hear you. A post-scarcity economy, I like that.” Bowser guffawed, flashing his teeth. “There’s enough bread and circus to go around. It’s nice to meet someone who appreciates that. We’ll call this a favor, then. I owe you one. How about you stay over for dinner tonight?”
Luigi was embarrassed to find himself blushing like a schoolgirl. “I’m not sure… I mean, that is to say…”
“Don’t worry about that brother of yours.” Bowser’s booming voice echoed down the hallway as he clapped Luigi on the back. “You can tell him I kidnapped you.”
It was hard for Luigi to say no with the warmth of Bowser’s smile aimed directly at him. Come to think of it, he was a little jealous of the princess. It might be nice to be kidnapped every once in a while.
“All right, sure,” Luigi answered. “I’d like that. As long as you don’t serve mushrooms. I wouldn’t want to get you in… truffle?”
Bowser’s eyes widened in surprise before he burst into laughter. Luigi finally allowed himself to relax. Mario’s job might be more glamorous, sure, but his own work had its share of benefits. And like Bowser said, it was nice to be appreciated.

CCTV Drain Surveys: How They Work and Why You Need One in Maidstone
Blocked drains Maidstone can lead to a myriad of plumbing issues, from minor inconveniences to major emergencies. To effectively diagnose and address these problems, many homeowners are turning to CCTV drain surveys. But what are these surveys, how do they work, and why are they essential for maintaining your drainage system?
What is a CCTV Drain Survey?
A CCTV drain survey involves using advanced camera technology to inspect the interior of your drainage system. A small, high-definition camera is inserted into your pipes, providing real-time footage of any issues within. This method allows local plumbers Maidstone to assess the condition of your drains without invasive digging or disruption.
How Do CCTV Drain Surveys Work?
Preparation: Before the survey, our team at Greywater Drainage Solutions will prepare the area, ensuring that access points to your drains are clear.
Camera Insertion: The CCTV camera is inserted through a manhole or access point into the drainage system. It is equipped with powerful lights to illuminate dark pipes and provide clear visuals.
Live Feed: As the camera travels through the drains, it sends live video footage to a monitor, allowing our technicians to see any potential problems, such as blockages, cracks, or root intrusions.
Analysis: After the survey, our experts analyze the footage to determine the cause of any issues and recommend the best course of action, whether it be drain cleaning Maidstone or repair services.
Why You Need a CCTV Drain Survey
Early Problem Detection: Regular CCTV drain surveys can identify problems before they escalate, saving you money on costly repairs. By detecting issues like cracks or tree root intrusions early, you can address them promptly.
Accurate Diagnosis: Unlike traditional inspection methods, a CCTV survey provides a clear view of your drains, leading to accurate diagnosis and effective solutions. This helps in pinpointing the exact location and nature of the blockage, ensuring targeted repairs.
Preventative Maintenance: A CCTV drain survey is an excellent tool for preventative maintenance. By understanding the condition of your drainage system, you can implement maintenance strategies to avoid future issues.
Peace of Mind: Knowing the state of your drains gives you peace of mind. It reassures you that your wastewater management Maidstone is functioning correctly and reduces the risk of sudden drain emergencies.
In conclusion, if you're experiencing issues with blocked drains Maidstone or want to ensure your drainage system is in optimal condition, consider investing in a CCTV drain survey. At Greywater Drainage Solutions, our team of experts is ready to help you maintain a healthy drainage system with our state-of-the-art services.

We're having the worst backing up drain problem so far, with no luck getting things even vaguely unblocked so far. And I am really hoping that this will finally be the final straw that gets him after the housing association.
This has been a repeated periodic issue. We're effectively at the bottom of an apartment building--and most likely plumbing--from the late '60s (with just a laundry room under our place). So, All The Sewage seemingly randomly comes up our shower floor drain, since not long after we moved in. Good thing proper wet rooms are standard here, is all I can say.
It's a lot more than we could have possibly put down the drain, especially on this occasion.
There really does seem to be no connection between anything we've been doing and the periodic drain geyser. Neither one of us had been near the bathrooms for at least an hour when it loudly started glugging and flowing up this time. There does appear to be some kind of blockage point in the shared line past where ours joins up, with everything flowing downhill but not always so smoothly in these aging pipes!
He's been busy trying to budge that enough to get the filthy water to go back down out of our floor again for hours now, with a side mission out to Clas Ohlson to pick up more Drano equivalent. We can usually get it knocked loose from here enough for the drains to actually drain it off again, but it's being particularly stubborn this time. Our toilets are flushing again, but all the water is coming straight back into the main bathroom floor. It's enough of a foul lake already. I will spare y'all pics.
We are also paying hefty general maintenance fees to live in this condo-equivalent, and I think it is well past time that this apparently shared building plumbing issue is brought to their attention. Emphatically. At the very least, it is looking well past time to try and get an actual plumber to look at the problem, in case it is coming from inside the house after all. I know it's been unpleasant enough for him, playing amateur plumber trying to get things unblocked, that I really do not understand why neither thing has happened already. Other than everyone's neuros diverging in this household, whether or not he sees it that way.
I am just kind of frustrated at this point, partly because I don't feel like I can reasonably take over trying to get this dealt with. I'm not even sure the best way to get in touch with the housing association OR a plumber locally on semi-urgent basis, and my Swedish skills at the moment do not make either prospect easier on multiple levels. Mostly just needed to vent a little.

That was fun. I woke up to what in context I was guessing were likely plumber noises. (Yep!)
Can't actually find when I posted about it the first time our persistent drain problem (which is down to the building plumbing 🙄) really needed professional intervention. But yeah, the main sewage drain has kept getting blocked up through nothing we can control, and it was pretty bad again when I went to bed.
(Weird backflow keeps blocking things up where our plumbing meets the main line. It's apparently at a terrible angle or something. We are also on the bottom floor, just to make it better.)
After working on it pretty much the whole time I was gone last night (not least with a bunch of drain cleaner, after going out yesterday evening to get more before the store closed). No luck, and we were hoping it would unblock overnight like it's done before.
No such luck. He came out this morning, and accidentally left one of the toilets running after flushing it again. (I think that needs a valve replacement or something, because it keeps sticking open and needing the flusher jiggled.) He can't really hear it when it is running, though the noise drives me crazy. Anyway, then he came back a little bit later to find nasty water starting to spill out into the hall. 😱
For context, this is indeed a basic Swedish standard wet room setup we're talking about, with a slightly sloping floor leading toward a big floor drain that the bathtub empties into and a lip at the threshold.
Every previously dry towel in the house is heaped in the tub now. He has actually gone to IKEA to buy more, because Out Of Towels Error. Those sodden filthy ones will also need to be hauled to the basement laundry room whenever we can book a time. 😩
That's how we get Sewage Lake going whenever that drain backs up. It just comes up that floor drain under the tub.
Similar deal in the current wreck of a small bathroom, though it doesn't have a floor drain which is why there is still some standing water after the plumber came. Otherwise a wet room setup, and (thankfully cleaner) water managed to start overflowing the sill because that was the stuck-running toilet culprit.
At any rate, he saw that little flood and was going "oh shit, we really need a plumber STAT!" when apparently some essentially condo association staff person came a'knockin' to see if we had a leak. Because someone had already reported water dripping in the laundry room right under us.
So yeah, at least this time they did arrange to get a plumber in stat! Dude apparently had to pump the horrible water out into an outdoor drain, and no wonder they were here so long.
The blockage did get successfully rooted out, and Mr. C already cleaned the big bathroom floor out with bleach so it's vaguely usable. The small one still has a bit of standing water for the moment, because Out Of Towels Error. I may have to thoroughly clean them both myself before my actual OCD feels relatively OK with not treating them like particularly nasty public restrooms in my own house.
With the disgusting flood actually breaching containment and leaking through outside our apartment, hopefully this will make them more inclined to fix that plumbing junction which is causing the issue. Can't say I'm holding my breath, though. 🤨 This has to be a long-term thing already, and I would be amazed if previous owners hadn't kept having the exact same issue. And possibly getting nasty floor water dripping down to the laundry room, which frankly may have been considered lower priority since it isn't somebody else's apartment under there.

London's Top 5 Plumbing Emergencies and the Solutions to Get Them Sorted!
Tired of madly searching for "emergency plumber near me" or "London plumber" whenever a plumbing issue happens? We’ve got the solution for you.
Even with a plumber booked and en route, waiting for them to arrive can feel like an eternity when you're facing a burst pipe or a clogged drain. It's an anxious race against time as you try to minimise the damage and keep your cool. Fortunately, we've got some tips up our sleeves to help you hold your pipes while you wait for your local Fixer to come to the rescue.
Don't let plumbing problems dampen your day! Let's dive into the top 5 plumbing emergencies in London and learn how to keep things under control until your plumber arrives.
Burst Pipes: From Drips to Disasters
Picture this: water gushing out of a burst pipe, flooding your home, and turning it into an impromptu swimming pool. It's not a pretty sight, but keep calm! If you can safely access your main water supply, shut it off to minimise further damage. Use buckets or towels to contain the water, and mop up excess water to prevent slips and falls. Our skilled plumbers specialise in emergency repairs and will arrive equipped with the right tools to fix that burst pipe and prevent further water damage to your property.
Blocked Drains: Bye-bye, Drain Drama
Blocked drains can be like unwanted visitors who show up at the most inconvenient times, causing slow drainage, odd odours, and even flooding. According to a 2019 study in the UK, 48% of people said they put oil and fat down their kitchen sink, which is one of the main reasons for drain blockage.
While you wait for the plumber to arrive, try using a plunger to clear the blockage. Avoid using chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage your pipes. Our experienced plumbers will arrive with specialised tools and pressure techniques to unclog those drains, leaving you with smoothly flowing water once again.
Leaking Taps: Drip, Drip, No More!
Leaking taps can be irritating, wasteful, and even damaging to your property. According to Wired, London loses more than half a billion litres of water to leaks every day. In the meantime, you can try turning off the water supply to the affected tap and placing a towel or bucket underneath to catch the dripping water. Our certified plumbers will diagnose the cause of the leak and fix or replace any needed components, putting an end to that annoying drip-drip and restoring it to function perfectly.
Toilet Clogs: The Dreaded Blockade
A nightmare for any homeowner: a clogged toilet that refuses to flush. According to Water UK, people flushing wet wipes down the toilet account for 75% of drain blockages in the UK. So, next time, don’t forget to #BinTheWipe.
Also, bear in mind that a single faulty toilet could leak more than 400 litres of water in a single day. While you wait for the plumber, avoid flushing multiple times, as it may cause the toilet to overflow. Instead of panic flushing (don’t worry, we’ve all been there), try using a plunger to loosen the blockage. Our expert local plumbers are equipped with the right tools and skills to tackle that dreaded blockade.
Water Heater Issues: No More Cold Showers!
Stepping into a cold shower on a chilly London morning is not a pleasant thought. Before anything, check if the pilot light on your water heater is lit. If it's not, try relighting it following the manufacturer's instructions. If that doesn't work, avoid tampering with the water heater further and use the Bokafix app to instantly book a certified gas engineer.
If you're unsure whether your boiler needs replacing or just fixing, make sure to check out our blog post ‘Is Your Boiler Ready for Replacement? The 7 Common Warning Signs’, you may find it useful. Once at your house, our qualified local Fixer will correct the issue, ensuring you have hot water flowing again in no time.
What To Do in Each Emergency
Plumbing emergencies may be stressful, but Bokafix is here to make things easier! In just a few moments, you can book qualified plumbers or gas engineers who can tackle Londoners' most common plumbing emergencies with expertise and efficiency.
So, say goodbye to the "emergency plumber near me" search. Download Bokafix today and bid farewell to plumbing troubles….help is just a few taps away!

[Playful Affection prompts || accepting]
"...Do you do that to every plumber that comes to your apartment?"
Bucky would look around, except that he's currently stuck under Barton's sink working on getting a leak fixed. Well. That's what he was originally fixing; it's turned into removing a blockage that will then become fixing a leak because apparently no one's ever told Clint not to pour used cooking oil down the damn drain.
