I love your art style. I want to start making short comics but I feel like mine resembles a kindergarten coloring book, where did you learn to draw and what apps do you use?

Thank you! That means a lot! I am a self taught artist, so everything I know I basically learned through Youtube and DragoArt (if any of you remember DragoArt hey ily/p) I've used almost every art program out there lol, MSPaint, FireAlpaca, TVPaint, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Autodesk Sketchbook, hell I even used to draw with Ibis X Paint on my phone with my finger in high school.

The ones that I found have been the best for my needs are Clip Studio Paint and Procreate. Procreate is the main one I use now. I've mentioned this before, but I actually used to get bullied in school about my art (granted it was terrible but still) and I was consistently told how much better other art kids were than me. It was a weird conditioning that there was only one way to draw. And there's not. There is no right way to draw. I quit drawing for a long while, and the bullying settled down, but I was unhappy. So, I forced myself through a self-made bootcamp. I binged so many art tutorials for the longest time, I analyzed other artists work, I studied as much about anatomy as I could. All to have an art style that matched everyone else's, only to end up wishing for something more...unique. That's when I got super into My Hero Academia. I absolutely adore the art in MHA, it was so new and different to me. So, MHA really affected how I draw today. Another inspiration of mine was Jordan Persegati , a horror artist on Youtube. His art style is amazing! I basically just took bits and pieces I liked from each of my favorite art styles, meshed them together, and added my own little twist! So, I have what I dubbed as an "animen't" style. It's very influenced by anime, but it's not anime. And now, I actually feel really comfy in my art style for once! So, the best advice I can give you is, if you want to improve, learn as much as you can from other artists and don't be afraid to ask questions! But, keep in mind, there is no one way to draw. So, I say, go for it! Make those comics!! And if you make them, let me know! I'd love to read them!!! I hope that answers your question! Sorry this was so long lol.

How'd you get into drawing? Also, in what ways did you practice in order to get so good at it?

ive always kinda drawn? like ever since i could remember ive always loved art esp as my mother and older sibling were talented it just kinda .. happened lol !! i grew up drawing in my notebooks and on printer paper of like dork diaries fanart and mine and my siblings gem girl ocs (we came up with steven universe first js ..) and monster high ocs (I will draw them one day..)

i got more "into" it when i was around 11 bc thats when i got into anime and i used to watch mark crilley art tutorials on youtube :") i then moved onto dragoart if that website is even still up ?? by going on it after school in the library and just using their like stolen anime art tutorials to draw art that looked like the nightcore anime girls lol

getting into digital art when I was 12 and just watching so many undertale speedpaints like my favs at the time were walkingmelonsaaa (i think their user has changed) and kiwibyrd and just using their videos as inspiration on how to paint digitally super helped (2015 undyne was my first ever digital drawing ^_^)

what really improved my art substantially though was genuinely getting into homestuck like my art has improved so so much like if you scroll down to my 2020 pre-march art my art is so different and having that fixation on media and constantly drawing and being interested and enjoying it really helped me improve

in a more real sense though I did life drawing last year and drawing from real life and anatomy irl really helped when it comes to drawing proportions right and just using references really super helps

Heyo some more posts sorry it took so long to get back onto this my laptop broke recently and that was where I did most of my blog work and research, it also stores a lot of precious stuff on there as well so I’ve been somewhat busy trying to get it fixed ASAP.

Let’s get started on some of that research though ^v^

Starting with a more simple of a link from a site know as drago art with a quick tutorial on how to draw lizard people with a step by step process

The site shows a very Thorough step by step breakdown of how to draw lizard people, this is incredibly valuable as I can utilise the tips and advice from the cites process breakdown to try and create lizard designs of my own if I were to go down the project path that would involve them, though I may distinctly break away and alter some aspects to better work in my aesthetic for instance I may Italian more exaggerated features lie bigger eyes and more simpler spike and scales patterned as well as thicker lines to better fit with my art style.

Sinopsis: Un renacuajo sin nombre ni recuerdos, despierta flotando entre una balsa de aguas negras, aparentemente, dejado a su suerte... ¿Cómo un híbrido tan pequeño podía sobrevivir en un mundo tan cruel? Quizás necesitaba algún milagro que acuda a su rescate...

I’m trying to learn how to draw realistic animals, so the first one I drew was a lion and learned how to draw this from dragoart, and if you guys don’t know that site, it’s amazing, you need to check it out, it’s definitely the best if you want to learn how to draw any art.
