OH holy crap this slammed into me like a brick wall!!!
So I read a few fics were Zeref gets redeemed and his curse is lifted or altered in some way so that he can be around people again. In some of them there is even a nice reconciliation between August and Zeref where Zeref learns about the son he never knew he had.
(like in World's End: Aftermath by CairnCircles which is a fantastic story and Cairn deserves all the love)
But anyway one thing I've never seen is the fact that Brandish considers August to be her grandpa...
Just think for a second.
About the sheer hilarity.
That would come from that realisation.
Not only would Zeref have gained another son (if he finally recognised Larcade as his son too instead of leaving the poor guys behind) but he also would've gained a pseudo-great-grandaughter.
Then you've got the opposite where the news finally breaks to everyone about Augusts relationship with Zeref and everyone is shocked that something like this has gone unknown for so long. Then you've got Brandish in the background freaking out because if August is her grandpa what does that make the emperor then?!?!?!
Ughhh okay I feel much better now that that's out of the way.
(You've also got the added hilarity of Natsu finding out that Brandish is his kind of not really great-niece and him absolutely committing to the role of great uncle whether she wants him to or not)
#fairytail#fairy tail#natsu dragneel#zeref dragneel#tea speaks#august dragneel#brandish#ft brandish#dragneel family shenanigans#dragneel brothers#I can absolutely see brandish committing to the bit though and calling Zeref great-grandpa in front of everyone#gone is any sort of formality he's her great-grandpa now#invel would be having a coniption#Zeref can't do much of anything either it's not like he had any control over her to begin with since she was hired

ah. this explains many of my obsessions. literally so much of what i watch. to name a few:
once upon a time: specifically emma swan and killian jones, but really all of them. there was a point in time where i loved each and every one of these characters with my entire SOUL. and even though the show soured some of the characters for me (mainly regina and rumple. also neal but i still love bae so....), i still want to rescue them from what the writers did to them bc deep down i really do still love them. just can't stand them in canon.
miraculous ladybug: save these kids, please. i love them all (except lila and gabriel). but i'm so bitter about a lot of things that have happened over the course of the show. like master fu's treatment of both marinette and adrien (still love him though). chloe's redemption arc that wasn't. all of the times chat noir is purposely left in the dark that STILL happens and never really gets addressed. all the loose threads in season 4, including lots of build up to a big fight/argument between ladynoir that just.... got swept under the rug. the lack of time spent on building up the reversed lover square. it was just suddenly switched in season 5. we sorta saw ladybug fall in love with chat noir for a few episodes (sorta). but adrien went from 0-100 in terms of being in love with marinette. and the only explanation we got was that he'd been falling in love with her since this one episode in season 3, but we never SAW it. also i'm mad that ladrien never got a kiss, but all the other sides did. and don't get me started on the season finale. i'm still bitter about that
star trek: enterprise: listen. this is my favorite star trek. is it particularly good? no. but i love the potential of what it could have been. and i love all of the main characters. especially phlox. he's my weird little blorbo (i'm biased towards the star trek doctors, okay?)
the office: i'm only here for jim, pam, and dwight. and all the shenanigans that entails.
fairy tail: i'm here for silly guild (read: found family) shenanigans. just the warm fuzzy feelings. (also the dragneel brothers content. natsu and zeref have my heart forever)
star wars: okay, i'm not the biggest star wars fan (sacrilege, i know). i couldn't get into the original trilogy. and i've seen a couple of the newer movies and the kenobi series they made. but even with all that. i might not be able to sit down and watch the original trilogy. or (most of) the prequel trilogy. or the sequel trilogy. or- well, you get it. but i will watch the phantom menace (put away the pitchforks). is it a good movie? not really. but i love qui-gon jinn, okay? i will watch that movie a thousand times just for him.
lore olympus: okay, yeah. not a tv show or movie, but i feel like it still applies. i have recently fallen off the fan bandwagon and onto the critical side of the fandom. there are many issues with the comic, but i still love the potential. what i interpreted the characters to be back when i still wore the rose-colored glasses.
I’m actually kind of amazed how many people do not understand this concept

Fictober 5-Sentence Challenge: Day 20 - Crunchy Leaves
Fandom: Fairy Tail
Lucy searched for her family all over their home; upstairs, downstairs, the kitchen, the bathroom and even her study.
Exiting from the kitchen door, Lucy could now hear muffled laughter. Following the sounds she saw her husband sitting cross-legged and tossing handfuls of leaves on top of a wiggling mound.
Natsu turned, giving Lucy an exaggerated wink, “The crunchy leaves are so noisy I can’t find Nashi - maybe I should burn these leaves?”
Lucy plopped down next to Natsu, reaching for and taking his hand, “That’s a good idea - Nashi hasn’t had lunch yet and I’m sure she’ll come running!”

B2+Nalu stealing clothes @heres-a-cookie request HS-modern setting AU/Alpha/Omega AU fluff
“Mo—m! Have you seen my dragon shirt?” Natsu Dragneel yelled from his bedroom, searching his closet to no avail. The Alpha teen was frustrated that he couldn’t find one of his favorite t-shirts. Come to think of it, he hadn’t seen it for over a week.
“No,” the reply came from somewhere in the house. “Maybe it’s still in the laundry room waiting to be washed.”
“Ugh!” Natsu groaned and grabbed an alternative. The high school senior had wasted too much time searching and needed to get to school before he was late again. This was the second t-shirt to go missing this month!
He plops onto his first period seat just as the school bell rang, an annoyed look on the teachers face greeting him. But Natsu merely shrugged at the man with a wide brimmed smile. What was Mr. Gildarts gonna do? He’d made it on time and he was a star pupil. The lesson droned on. Then second period, and third period passed by with nothing out of the ordinary.
As a popular Alpha, Natsu fielded a lot of attention, especially from the Omegas, but he never let it get in the way of his education. He’d learned to ignore the wanton scents left behind by irresponsible Omegas. Everyone was supposed to wear suppression patches in public, but the rule was rarely enforced unless there was a problem and that mostly happened if they weren’t suppressing a heat spell or rut.
Thankfully it was time for lunch, and since he’d missed breakfast, Natsu was starving! The cafeteria was filled with students by the time he’d arrived, but as his eyes searched, it keyed in on their usual spot. His friends were mostly sitting with their trays in conversation, so Natsu quickly grabbed his food and joined them, taking a seat next to his best friend, and fellow Alpha Gray Fullbuster. It was typical high school banter, projects coming up, some gossip like so-and-so just started courting, blah, blah, blah. Natsu didn’t really pay much attention to such things. Not that he didn’t like a certain blonde Omega, but they’re still young, and frankly he wasn’t interested in following traditional rules at the moment.
Okay, that was a bit of a lie. While he may be an Alpha, that didn’t mean he wasn’t socially awkward when it came to the idea of dating. Alphas are expected to take the dominant position, make the moves, so-to-speak, and he was afraid to. There is supposed to be a proper way to court the person you like, giving proper gifts, etc and Natsu was too nervous to even walk into those stores to buy anything. Plus, he didn’t know if the Omegan felt the same, and the last thing he wanted be was rejected.
“You okay, dude?” Gray nudged Natsu’s side. “You’re like, distracted today.”
“Huh? Oh, yeah. I was just trying to think where I might have left one of my shirts. I couldn’t find it this morning.”
“Am I rubbing off on you? Picked up my stripping habit?”
“Pfft! No! I’m sure I’ll find it.”
But he doesn’t. Natsu searched his locker at school, all over his house, and never found it. Two weeks later another piece of clothing disappeared, then a month later another. The tally was up to three t-shirts, a pair of socks, a hoodie, and now his favorite scarf. Okay, the other items he could deal with, but the scarf held a lot of meaning for him because his father gave it to him for his 10th birthday.
Natsu vented about the missing scarf at school the next day to his friends. How it was really strange that stuff was going missing from his room. Everyone tried to give suggestions, maybe he’d simply misplaced them or stress from school was affecting his memory. One person even commented that ruts were affecting his brain. Pfft, no they weren’t! He was very careful to control and suppress his rut times to avoid its affect on the unmated.
Then something new occurred in the clothing shenanigans. A couple of days later, he found his scarf back in his room, neatly folded, but hidden in his closet. Had he simply missed it? No, he was pretty certain he’d checked well and the scarf had not been in his closet. The only person who’d been in his room that week aside from himself was his mother and Lucy Heartfilia.
“Could it have been Lucy?” Natsu wondered aloud, while wrapping the scarf around his neck. They’d known each other since primary school and the blonde never struck him as a thief. There must be a logical explanation. “I’ll just drop by and ask her,” since he needed to give her his notes for a class anyways.
It took him only a few minutes to arrive at Lucy’s home a couple of blocks over. Natsu knocked and was greeted by Virgo, the family maid who welcomed him in.
“Miss Lucy is in her room,” the woman gestured towards the stairs with a gleam in her eyes. “Go right on up.”
“Are you sure it’s okay if I go up there?”
“Oh, yes! I’m sure she’d be happy to see you. Just knock upon entering.”
“Thank you, Virgo,” he smiled and walked to the stairs.
Natsu knew where Lucy’s room was, but it had been a couple of years since he’d gone inside it. When they studied, she always went to his house, or they’d study in her living room. He assumed it was because they were older now, and it wasn’t as proper for a male to go into a girls room. Which was fine with him. He didn’t want to see anything inappropriate by accident that could trigger his instincts.
He knocked as he opened the door. “Hey Lucy, you in—” A shriek rang out as he stepped inside and was confronted by a sight he wasn’t expecting. Nothing R rated! But... “I-Is that?”
“Omg what are you doing here?!” The blonde screamed as she scrambled, failing to hide things.
“I have the notes for the test... Lucy, is that my shirt?” Natsu spied the familiar dragon logo he’d been searching for in over a month.
All the blood runs out of Lucy’s face at being caught. “Um, I-I... I can explain.”
Just as expected, Natsu’s Alpha instincts kicked in the moment he sensed the distress blooming in the Omegas scent. Lucy wasn’t wearing a suppression patch since she was at home, so he could smell her feelings immediately. And what he was seeing was clearly a nest based on what they’d learned in health class. It all made sense now. “I’m not angry,” his face softened, almost chuckling. Frankly, she was adorably embarrassed and he couldn’t help the preening sense of pride growing in his chest. “You took my stuff to add to your nest?”
The blonde averted her eyes. “Yes. Your scent is comforting during my h-heat cycles,” her voice petered out at the last part. “I didn’t think you liked me in this way, so I took them when I was at your house.”
It shouldn’t surprise him that she felt this way about him. One of the reasons they’d grown close over the years was because their scents were comforting to each other’s. Natsu closed the gap between them, taking her hands gently into his. “Lucy look at me,” he coaxed her brown eyes up. “I’d be honored to court you properly, if you’ll let me.” He then removed the scarf from his neck and wound it around hers, “consider this a promise gift.”
“Is this for real?” The words wisp out from Lucy’s lips as if unbelieving what the Alpha was saying.
He chuckled and swept in to place a soft kiss on her lips. “It’s as real as you’d like it to be.”

i'll be home for christmas [stingue, gratsu] When a taxi refuses to take Sting to the airport because they won't accept his service dog, a charming stranger named Rogue offers to drive him instead. The act of kindness gets Sting home to his brother Natsu and the rest of his family in time for Christmas, but Sting can't help hoping that he'll run into Rogue again.

Without another choice, he agrees to go with a stranger - a man who is remarkably charismatic, and a lot cuter than Gray is willing to admit. It's supposed to be platonic (Gray's straight, right?), but Paris isn't called the City of Love for nothing.
then the skies will seem more blue [gratsustingue] (co-written with @gray--dragneel) Sting's getting ready to come out to his Oma, but she's the only family he has left, and she's worried what she'll think about his partners.
and a partridge in a pear tree [stingue] It's almost Christmas, and Sting starts receiving mysterious gifts.
maybe christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more [stingue] After an afternoon of sledding and gingerbread houses with their nieces, Sting and Ryos head home to have some fun.
your welcome has been so nice and warm [gratsustingue] (co-written with @gray--dragneel) It’s Christmas Eve, and it’s Gray’s turn to come out to his family about his relationship with Sting, Rogue and Natsu.
all i want for christmas is you [gratsustingue] (co-written with @gray--dragneel) Gray’s work Christmas party only lets him bring one partner, forcing him to choose between his boyfriends. Shenanigans ensue.
you are the brightest lights in my dark, dark sky [gratsustingue] (co-written with @gray--dragneel) It's almost Diwali and Natsu's missing his family. His boyfriends have some plans to make the holidays feel right.

10 Fave Fandoms
Name your top 10 favorite characters from 10 different fandoms (and tag 10 people unsuccessful LOL)!
Hahaha, I was never active enough on Tumblr before to have people tag me in things. But thanks @rekutopia
1. Noragami - Yato. I had a tough time between him or Hiyori. Adachitoka does such a wonderful job of creating complex and deep characters. Picked Yato because he’s so... Resilient and hardworking. He was born for tragedy, but decided he wanted to make people happy. Not to mention, what he did for baby Yukine... 💔
2. Classroom of the Elite - Suzune Horikita. This one I also had trouble deciding since I really liked Kiyotaka, but Suzune was the more relatable one since we have similar personalities (especially when it comes to getting the things we want.) 😏
3. D. Gray-man - Lavi Bookman. His character is so complex, with his duty to his clan, but slowly yet surely, learning about things like friendship, family and emotions even though it’s not allowed... It’s kind of tragic. He’s also hilarious. Lmao.
4. Full Metal Alchemist - Roy Mustang. He’s suave, badass and funny. Also, I have a thing for fire bois. 😏
5. Avatar: The Last Airbender - Zuko. Bruh. This has to be obvious.
6. Horimiya - Toru Ishikawa. He’s so precious and sweet, even though sometimes, he’s not the brightest crayon in the box. LOL. His reactions to things are also hilarious. (Manga versions of the characters are much better imo)
7. Akagami no Shirayukihime - Obi. Dark, dangerous, but also sweet, kind and funny. He’s grown from an assassin to a wonderful knight. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR.
8. Soul Eater - Soul Evans. He looks so good in a suit and playing the piano. I love hardasses that enjoy/can play instruments. Lmaooo.
9. Fairy Tail - Natsu Dragneel. He might not seem like it, but I love how grounded Natsu is. When shit hits the fan, instead of wallowing in doubt, he smiles and thinks: we’re gonna kick ass. He also never takes anything personally, which I wish everybody in irl would be like. But I mostly enjoy his stupid shenanigans and when he’s whooping ass.. #FireBois
10. Digimon - Mimi Tachikawa. This one goes wayyy back into my childhood. She’s normally not the type of character I like/relate to but beneath the prissiness and being spoiled, she’s very honest (brutal/radical honesty that sometimes end up unintentionally hurting people) and I loved how confident she grew up to be doing whatever the fuck she wanted.
I’m not sure who to tag/who got tagged already so I’m just gonna randomly pick from the people I follow/followers. LOL.

Sense of Home
AU: More than a year after her father passed away, Lucy Heartfilia sat surrounded by 200 unpacked boxes in the apartment she moved into months ago. Ashamed of being incapable of unpacking, she shut herself out from the rest of her friends. But one pink-haired idiot of a boy decides to take a risk and show her what it feels like to be home. One-shot.
Fandom: Fairy Tail Word Count: 3000 Characters: Lucy, Natsu, Gray, Erza, Mirajane, Gajeel, Levy, Lisanna, Jellal, Loke Rated: K Genre: Friendship & Hurt/Comfort Can also be found here
*Inspired by a post floating around on tumblr, just so I can get my feet wet in a new fandom. Please let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is very welcomed!
.
.
.
Lucy Heartfilia unlocked the door to her apartment, keys jingling as she stepped inside and closed the door behind her. She slipped off her ankle-high boots and shrugged off the light jacket she had worn to keep away the autumn chill in the air. As if it were routine, she pulled a frozen dinner out of the freezer and popped it in the microwave, before moving to pour herself a glass of wine.
As the microwave hummed and she sipped on a glass of Merlot, her dark eyes scanned the living room with half-hearted interest. Boxes sat piled haphazardly throughout the apartment, black lettering scrawled on the sides. She was sure she had dishes packed away somewhere - beautiful china that had been in her family for generations - and a more suitable glass for wine other than the plastic disposable cup she was currently using, but the dread of unpacking heavily outweighed the desire to have finer dishware.
Her cell phone buzzed from its place on the counter, and she reached over to read a text message that had come through.
[Hey Lucy! Will you be home Thursday night?]
She sipped on her wine thoughtfully as she pondered her best friend's question. Natsu Dragneel certainly wasn't one for asking questions before action, which made her curious as to why he needed to know her plans.
[Yeah. Why?]
It took about a minute for her phone to buzz again with his response. [Can I stop by?]
Lucy rolled her eyes, part of her apprehensive about how she was going to reply. For all intents and purposes, Natsu was a very good friend to her. She couldn't say how many times he made her laugh until her sides hurt, and held her when she needed a crutch to lean on. But his insistences over the past few months were beginning to wear on her, and honestly she wasn't sure if she was up for his company this week.
Her gaze trailed to the rest of her apartment. He had already seen the disarray several times, but if she was being truthful, every time he laid eyes on her unpacked apartment, she felt mortified.
It had been over a year since her dad died. She really couldn't recall ninety-percent of what had happened in that year. One minute she was crying in a hospital room, the next she was an orphaned college student in a new apartment with an inheritance she never asked for.
She couldn't remember packing away her father's things - or her things, for that matter - as she moved from the grand estate she had called home into an apartment that was no bigger than her old bedroom. And every night as she came home from class to stare at the boxes taunting her from every corner of her new living quarters, she felt ashamed.
Lucy couldn't unpack. Months had passed since she moved, and for some reason, she just couldn't find the will power to empty the boxes that held her home. Natsu had been the only guest she had allowed over because she had known him since the fourth grade and thus her oldest and dearest friend. She knew he wouldn't judge her, but she still felt humiliated knowing her life remained packed in cardboard boxes.
Like, how could she be unable to unpack? "Just open the damn boxes" she would curse to herself every time she found herself staying in and staring at the offending objects. But the more she stared at them, the more she felt the heartsick eat away at her.
After the first night in her apartment, she cried for nineteen days straight.
Glancing back at her phone with Natsu's text message waiting patiently for a response, Lucy let the wine make the decision for her and decided she needed some kind of company to off-set the silence of her past.
[Sure. I'll be home by 5]
He sent her a winkie-face in response, which only caused her to smile with amusement. As she exited out of his message, she let her gaze wander to the list of other texts she had received, some she had never responded to.
[You are loved <3 <3 <3]
[We need you bunny girl]
[Smile Lucy!]
[You're amazing. Don't forget that.]
The few she had responded to left a biting tone, words between the lines asking them to leave her to grieve in peace.
[Doesn't matter, but thanks]
Lucy knew her friends were only trying to make her feel better, but they couldn't. They knew she was struggling and felt helpless. Lucy understood that. However, her friends couldn't take away the ache in her chest and she was sick of them putting in the effort.
So, she had left the last few messages untouched. Alone with her glass of wine, she padded to her bedroom - occupied by a mattress that sat on the floor - pulled out her laptop, and began streaming a movie she had seen a dozen times before.
She ignored the two-hundred unpacked boxes that mocked her as she did so.
At six o'clock on Thursday evening, there was a knock on her door. Lucy unfolded herself from the one chair in her living room and mentally prepared herself for a Natsu-shenanigan-filled night. "I'm coming," she called as she side-stepped a stack of boxes and reached the door.
When she opened the door, she was in no way prepared for the barrage of people who pushed their way into her apartment, saying, "Surprise, Lucy!" while bearing platters of food, cleaning products, and complete unconcern for her, "Wait… You can't come in here! I haven't unpacked yet!" protestations.
Her apartment filled with chatter as people she had grown deep friendships with began moving about the space - pointing in different directions, walking down the hallway to scope out the layout, setting up the kitchen as if for a party. There were her old classmates and work friends and people she hadn't physically seen in years. And at the end of it all stood Natsu with a cheeky grin on his face.
"Hiya, Luce!"
"Natsu!" she practically screeched, hands curled into her hair with panic as her eyes skirted between him and the group of people who were now scattered around her apartment. "What are you doing?!"
He slung an arm around her shoulders, both of them watching as her friends began dividing up the rooms and unpacking what was left of her life. He pulled at her blonde hair playfully. "We're here for you."
Before she could corner him and question exactly what the hell he meant by that, he had disappeared into the kitchen, more than likely about to gorge on some of the food platters their old friend, Lisanna, had begun unwrapping. Lucy could only open and close her mouth like a fish as she watched her perfectly stacked boxes begin to take shape of disarray.
"Hey there, Lucy," a silver-haired woman greeted with a smile.
She turned to look up into bright blue eyes. "Mira?" She hadn't seen the woman since working as a waitress at a bar before her dad died. "What are you doing here?"
She shrugged and swept her gaze to the rest of the organized chaos. "Natsu sent us a group text the other day. He told us you were struggling and you needed our help. So he asked us to all come over and help unpack your apartment for you. He told us to bring food." She giggled. "And to make it fun."
As if on cue, Levy McGarden (a friend she had met in her Creative Writing class two years prior) pulled out a Bluetooth speaker and put on some tunes that made it seem more like an actual party instead of Lucy's personal pity party. Levy threw up a wave in Lucy's direction, her expression forming an unspoken apology as she shrugged.
"Wait," she tried again, hands up to grab the attention of all her uninvited guests. "I didn't know about this. You guys can't just come over!"
"Give it a rest, Bunny Girl," a man named Gajeel Redfox (who she met at a college Halloween party) said as he pushed passed her with a case of beer and bag of ice. "You ain't gettin' rid of us that easily."
Mirajane Strauss giggled and nudged Lucy in the side. "Just try to have a little fun, okay?" she said with a wink before disappearing into the throng of friends that crowded her apartment.
Lucy stood with wide-eyes, watching as Levy unpacked her fifteen-hundred books and found places for them on her bookshelf (in alphabetical order by genre, if she knew Levy). Her hands wrung nervously as her friend Loke (the son of one of her father's old business partners) hung pictures on her walls. Her heart felt like it was beating right out of her chest with anxiety as her friend Erza Scarlet (a woman who forced her friendship in the cafeteria one day over strawberry cake) organized her closet and put away all her clothes. Sometime during the evening, Mirajane and Lisanna had managed to set up a taco-making station in the kitchen, as Gajeel filled a cooler with the beer and ice.
Before she could process what exactly she was going to do next, another knock came to her door, and Lucy turned to answer it. On her doorstep stood Gray Fullbuster (a man she met senior year of high school out by the baseball dugouts) with a grin and a handle of Jack in his hand.
"Hey, Lucy. Sorry I'm late."
"L-Late?" she stuttered. "You aren't even supposed to be here!"
He shrugged with a lazy grin. "Well, I am. So put me to work."
"Um… well…" she tried, her brain fumbling to come up with something to say, because they weren't supposed to be here! and she didn't know what he was supposed to do.
"Perfect! Fullbuster, give me a hand!" Loke called from within the apartment, and Gray gave her arm an affectionate squeeze before he pushed passed her. Lucy shook her head in complete awe, softly closing the door, and turning to look at the commotion.
She somehow managed to make her feet move from beyond the doorway and found her way to Loke as he ripped open the paper wrapping on a framed picture. "I'm really good at measuring stuff," he answered her as she approached, Gray with an amused smile as he examined another framed picture nearby. Loke flashed a confident grin as he stood to look at her walls. "Let me put these up in your hallway."
Curling blonde hair around her finger nervously, Lucy hovered near Loke, not wanting to give up control. She watched as Gray held up a picture on the wall, Loke scrutinizing its placement, before pointing to another one instead. "Wait," Lucy said, pointing to a different spot on the wall. "Put that one there, maybe?"
Loke chuckled, but never missed a beat. "Go away, Lucy."
And without even meaning to, she did. And he was so much better at hanging stuff than she was! For the first thirty minutes, she had been embarrassed about her unpacked boxes, but as the night wore on and her apartment began to take shape, filled with distracting conversations and laughter she hadn't felt in forever, she let it all go.
They took a break for dinner, everyone's paper plates overwhelmingly full of tacos, as they sat on unopened boxes, on the floor, on the one chair in the living room, on each other's laps, someone resting a dinner plate on her DVD player. Some of them had never met before, some of them were the best of friends, some of them had only crossed paths. But they found conversation between them, lives intertwined, interests abound.
Lucy watched as this group of misfits of her friends found a common objective and came together so beautifully it made her heart ache.
"Speaking of date night," Erza interrupted as Mirajane finished telling a story about a first date gone horribly wrong. "Lucy, I'm concerned for your abundance of intriguing choices of underwear. What occasions do you have a need for such things?"
Heat seared her cheeks as Lucy turned a cherry red, her eyes widening as she practically choked on her food. Gajeel laughed out loud as Levy waved her hands dramatically in the air, saying, "Erza! You can't just ask a girl that!"
Natsu scrunched up his nose with a thoughtful look, before adding, "A family party?"
"Definitely not," Gray immediately responded with a shake of his head. "You got flames for brains?"
Her best friend was immediately on his feet, empty plate sliding to the floor as he clenched his hands into fists. "You wanna fight, pervy flasher?"
And true to his words, somehow during the evening, Gray's shirt had disappeared. Lucy hoped she wouldn't stumble across it later.
"That's enough, you two," Erza attempted to intervene, standing between them. "There will be no fighting."
Gajeel cracked his knuckles. "Aww, come on, Scarlet. Let us go a few rounds."
She silenced him with a glare that could kill.
Natsu grinned, pumping his fists into the air a few times. "Yeah, come on, fight me! I'll take you all on."
Mirajane giggled, circling the group as she gathered empty dinner plates, taking note of the warm flush to Natsu's cheeks. "Oh dear, I think someone needs to be cut off."
Gray rolled his eyes. "I told you not to drink Jack, you moron."
"I feel like the idiot's only job is to drink," Gajeel grumbled, leaning his chin in his hand.
"Do I have to make you all play nice?" Erza threatened again, her frustration peaking from being ignored.
Gray smirked. "Play nice? We don't 'play' or do 'nice'."
Lucy suddenly laughed, and all eyes turned to the surprising yet welcoming sound. She laughed until her stomach hurt, as her friends joined in, and tears came to her eyes. Here she was, Lucky Lucy Heartfilia, not even able to do the simplest of tasks. And nobody had judged her. Her friends simply swept into her apartment like superheros, somehow finding a way to do what she couldn't.
As dinner was cleaned up and everyone returned to work, she was overwhelmed by the sight of all her crazy friends turning themselves into Santa's workshop. On her behalf. Without asking her. They just showed up and barged in. They were all so practical and bossy, she couldn't even hold onto her embarrassment.
At the end of the night, Lucy looked at Erza's fiance, Jellal - a quiet, tactiturn guy who drove a tugboat on the Hudson, a practical man of few words - and she just gazed at him, speechless. She had no idea how to say thank you, especially to such a tough, resilient, self-sufficient man.
Jellal looked down at her with a gentle smile, sweeping his blue hair from his eyes. He saw the expression on her face, and he understood everything that was behind it. "Listen, Lucy," he said, squeezing her shoulder reassuringly. "What we did today was a barn-raising."
And Lucy nearly cried right then and there as he wrapped her in a tight hug.
When they all swept out of there four hours later, her place was a home. Lucy gazed around the newly-furnished apartment - her crocheted blanket she spent winter nights curled under, a picture of her parents sitting on the fireplace mantle, decorative towels hanging from her oven door - and then turned to Natsu, who stood by the door with a toothy grin and a flush to his cheeks. "Better, Luce?"
Not only was everything put away, but now it had a memory attached to it - a group memory. Friends, laughter, dirty jokes, hard work.
This pink-haired idiot took a risk. It very well could have ended badly. Lucy could've lashed out. She could have been really offended. But this silly man with a spirit of fire took a risk and sent out a text to all her local friends.
"Yeah," she whimpered, wiping a tear away as it spilled down her cheek.
He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her, Lucy breathing in the scent of ash and charcoal from his time on the railroad. She could've been offended, insulted, hurt. But Natsu took a risk.
The 'ask for help' advice was well-meaning, but not really thought through. There was shame. There was the enforced helplessness. There were the feelings she wasn't worth it. But her friends didn't wait for her to ask for help. They showed up. They took over. They didn't ask.
And they left her realizing that no matter what happened in her life, what tragedies she faced, home wasn't a place. It was a feeling. Somehow, her weirdo of a friend had found a way to create a sense of home for her here.
It felt authentic. And true. And everything she had ever longed for.

Nalu Fluff Week 2017: Within the Law, Chapter 1
fanfiction by impracticaldemon Words: ~2500 | Also available on FFnet and AO3
Author's Note:
Once again, I'm too behind on writing to be able to complete all the prompts for this ship week, but I did want to contribute at least a little!
The main prompt for this story is "Rain" (Day 2). I am also throwing in "Vacation" converted to "Work" (Day 3), and a smidgen of "Fashion" (Day 4). I haven't yet decided what else I may do for this ship week but you can probably look for a couple more pieces. Please remember: "a fanfiction author is never late, nor is she early, she publishes precisely when she means to." Thank you, Gandalf (and Tolkien, I suppose).
I hope that you enjoy the following shenanigans!
Chapter 1 ~ Sunshine in the Rain
Law school was tough—it turned out that Professor Porlyusica's class on Trusts was just as bad as they'd told her—but this was infinitely worse. Here she was in downtown Magnolia, wearing her best—and currently only—suit, a tailored white blouse, sheer nylons and conservative dark heels. And she was lost. Not very lost, just momentarily stymied. Any one of the three mega-towers in with entrances onto the plaza looked like it could house the prestigious Makarov & Vermilion law firm that had granted her this precious and not-to-be-missed interview for a summer student's position.
Unfortunately, a small contretemps at a subway turnstile involving a little white dog, an oddly bluish-grey cat with a green bandanna for a collar, and a guy rocking a great suit and neon pink hair, had caused Lucy to drop the paper with the firm's street address. The guy had been apologetic, sort of—he'd viewed the whole thing as more funny than serious. Then he'd told the animals to meet him at the 'usual place' and off they'd trotted without further fuss. It had been a little weird. The man looked like he worked at some high-powered job—Lucy had assumed that the animals weren't his.
"Don't worry," pink-hair-great-suit had told her, "you didn't hurt Happy or Plue."
That hadn't been Lucy biggest concern, but she'd murmured something appropriate and gotten a wide grin in return. She'd even returned the guy's wave as he rushed off—though whether to his job or to rendez-vous with his pets was unclear. He wasn't to be seen getting on the subway, in any event.
"There's a map in the lobby if you need one," said a voice behind her just then, making her jump.
"Um, yes, thank you. I guess I'll just go take a look." In fact, Lucy was having a tough time convincing herself to go into any of the buildings. Unfortunately, the person behind her probably worked in one of the towers and would find it really strange if she just went on standing rooted to the pavement.
"Oh hey! I just realized it's you! Sorry again about earlier…"
Great. It was the pink-haired guy who'd seen her almost fall on her butt in the subway station. He had a nice voice, Lucy thought—not too light, but bright and cheerful without being sharp or nasal. A half-turn confirmed her first impression of the suit. It fit him too well not to have been either custom-made or at least tailored by somebody who knew exactly how to accommodate square shoulders, a trim waist and lean, narrow hips. Okay, just stop that right now.
Lucy shook her head at herself; it was really rare for her to notice somebody's looks that much before getting to know them. Mostly because she made a point of not noticing—man, woman, whatever… nobody and nothing was going to get in the way of proving to her dad that she didn't need his money, his connections, or him in order to be successful at what she wanted out of life. His comment had been dismissive, as usual: "Lucy, I've got no problem with paying for law school, but remember that Heartfilias hire lawyers—we don't become lawyers."
He didn't understand that once she'd learned all the tricks of the trade from the pros, she was going to turn around and use them working for the people who really needed lawyers—small businesses, new entrepreneurs, creative people with a dream… Her family's company swallowed them up and spat them out because they couldn't afford a professional who could read the footnotes to the fine print.
There was a polite cough, and the man beside her surprised Lucy by saying, "You're looking for Fairy Tail, right?"
"What—well… yes, actually. And you are?" Lucy waited politely for the stranger to respond. She was suddenly on high alert. Only lawyers called M&V 'Fairy Tail'. (Of course, they were probably the only ones who cared, but still… it was just one of those things that you learned: the names of the judges of the Supreme Court, the fact that most modern consumer protection law could be traced back to tainted ginger beer, and the real name of M&V.)
"Me? Oh right—I was in a rush before—Natsu Dragneel." He held out a strong, blunt-fingered hand and smiled encouragingly.
That's one hell of a smile, thought Lucy, trying not to stare. It really stood out in his tanned, olive-toned face. Fortunately, she was in interview mode and she automatically shook his hand—warm, but pleasantly dry—and responded: "Lucy Heartfilia. And my interview's in ten minutes, so…"
"Oh that's right!" Natsu forgot to let go of her hand, and Lucy eyed him with a sinking suspicion that she wasn't going to like what she heard next. "You're the one all the fuss is about." He held up the bag he had in one hand. "Special treats for the meeting—um, interview. They're pretty excited about having you join the firm."
"Because of the connection to Heartfilia Enterprises?" asked Lucy bluntly.
"Well, yeah… sort of?" Natsu looked puzzled, and then realized that he was still holding Lucy's hand. He returned it to her with a final squeeze and without any noticeable embarrassment.
Lucy tried to swallow her disappointment. They were giving her this interview because of her family connections, not because of all her hard work over the last year and a half. As if in response to her suddenly dark mood, the early spring sunshine was blotted out by a large, heavy-looking cloud. It reminded Lucy of a star destroyer from Star Wars—and every bit as ominous as one of those gigantic, triangular ships had ever looked to a fleeing Rebel cruiser. A drop hit the tip of Lucy's nose and a change in the breeze brought the smell of incipient rain. Petrichor, thought Lucy. The smell of rain—though really it's the smell of plants getting ready for rain.
"I really should get going—" Lucy tried again.
"You know, that cloud looks exactly like a Star Wars battle ship—a star destroyer." Natsu was now staring up at the cloud above them. Then he looked down at Lucy and blinked. "Uh, sorry… old sci-fi stuff is a big hobby for me."
"Yeah?" Lucy perked up a little. She was trying not to think about the umbrella she'd left at home because it had been so sunny earlier. Another drop hit her and she noticed that the plaza was emptying fast.
"Oh, sure! How about you?"
Lucy didn't know quite what to say. Natsu—because 'Mr. Dragneel' didn't suit him in the slightest—seemed perfectly prepared to stand there and chat, while the heavens were clearly getting ready for the opening act of what now looked like a major storm. She shouldn't have skipped the weather report this morning.
"Well, actually, um, Natsu—I mean, yes I like some of the old TV shows and movies too, but—"
Lucy was forcibly interrupted by a combination of drenching rain and Natsu grabbing her hand and dragging her off at a sprint, oblivious to her heels and demure-but-narrow business skirt. Apparently she should have acted on her instincts sooner and gotten under shelter right away. She would have had to forcibly ditch her new acquaintance, however.
Moments later, they stood panting in the lobby of the smallest of the office towers—or rather, Lucy stood panting while her companion went back to the door to look anxiously out at the rain.
"You know," he said over his shoulder to Lucy, "you really should've come in out of the rain before it started. Couldn't you smell it?"
Lucy finally snapped. To heck with trying to be polite!
"Yes, I could smell it, Mr. Dragneel, but every time I tried to get you to move, you just, just ignored me!"
There was a pause while Natsu processed Lucy's irritation. Then—why was she not surprised?—he grinned, and used his hands to comb some of the water out of his cotton candy hair. The result was a spiky, yet ridiculously perfect mess.
"Yeah, I guess I might have—I was keeping an eye out for Happy and Plue. Sorry about that. No harm done though, right? I mean, at least you're in the right building now, and it's just rain." He caught Lucy's expression and laughed sheepishly. "Well, yeah, okay a lot of rain. Heavy rain, you might say. But you look fine, really."
Lucy decided that they had bonded enough over the star destroyer cloud for her to get out her compact and do a quick check of her face and hair in front of him—something that normally she would never do. Thankfully, she did look okay, courtesy of a well-pinned bun and minimal, but expensive, cosmetics. On the other hand... She barely repressed a yelp at the jagged tear in her stocking. She restrained herself from shaking Natsu for having dragged her along at such a pace, and tried to make him pay attention to her anxiety over the time.
"Mr. Dragneel—Natsu. I would like to be on time for my appointment. I have three minutes to get there. Your pets appear to be quite good at looking after themselves. I expect that they are waiting out the rain under cover somewhere. Please tell me where to go."
With an abrupt change of demeanor, Natsu gave her a quick nod.
"You're right, my bad. It's just that I'm watching Plue for a friend, and I kind of had to sneak away from work to let him out for a bit and, well—come with me."
With impeccable manners, he swept her towards a bank of lifts, waving at a sleepy-looking security guard whom Lucy hadn't even noticed. Lucy thought she saw a look of apprehension flit across Natsu's face as the lift doors closed behind them and he selected one of the upper floors. What was that about?
When they stepped out at the thirty-second floor, scant seconds later, Natsu turned and leaned heavily against the marble-faced wall. Despite now being extremely worried about the time—even to the exclusion of fretting over her torn stocking—Lucy paused to see if she could help. The rain was now pounding against the windows, all but drowning out the inevitable soft music of the floor's tastefully neutral lobby area.
"Um, Natsu?" Only years of controlling her anxiety around her father allowed Lucy to ignore her damp, less-than-pristine appearance, the fact that she was late for an interview for her dream job, and the way that the storm outside was competing with Elton John for her attention. (Why Elton John? And why the Musack version? Did it really need to be even slower and sappier than it already was? Plus, the song was older than she was and she probably knew it better than Elton at this point, courtesy of a thousand upscale office tower lobbies just like this one.)
"… Sorry…" Natsu looked positively ill. He waved a hand at her feebly. "… 'S'why I usually take the stairs."
"To the thirty-second floor?!" asked Lucy, appalled. Then again, he did seem to be in very good shape. Maybe this was why.
"Oh, don't worry about Natsu, Ms. Heartfilia," said a distinctly amused male voice from behind her. "He's terrible with elevators. And cars. And boats, trains, trams, pony-wagons, children's pedal toys—"
"Shut up, Gray," growled Natsu. His voice was still distinctly rough around the edges.
The man who had come into the lobby looked to be about Natsu's age—maybe a year or two older than Lucy. She was surprised that he wasn't wearing his suit jacket, since most city lawyers she'd met over the years wouldn't leave their office without one. Still, the icy blue tones of his slim-fit shirt worked just fine with his dark hair and eyes. Again with the personal appearances, she sighed. What is with me today?
"Are you really going to be alright, Natsu?" For some reason, Lucy found that she already missed the pink-haired guy's slightly overwhelming smile.
"Yeah," said Natsu. This time he managed a slightly happier expression.
"Yeah, he's okay, I promise," said his colleague, at almost exactly the same time. He still looked like he was laughing at Natsu, but his tone indicated that he had answered seriously. "I'm Gray, by the way—Gray Fullbuster. It's nice to meet you, Ms. Heartfilia."
They shook hands, and Lucy found Gray's grip to be firm and dry like Natsu's—but cool instead of warm. It was an odd sensation, in fact.
"Lucy's fine, Mr. Fullbuster."
"Sure—just call me Gray, then. I hope Natsu met you like he was supposed to? We tend to find people standing outside in the plaza looking confused… Anyway, Natsu volunteered to leave early to find you, so you could get inside before the rain hit." Gray quirked an eyebrow, somehow sensing that something was up. "Was there a problem?"
Lucy froze. He was supposed to meet me and bring me straight here? Her mind quickly ran through images of the collision with Plue and Happy at the turnstile, followed by Natsu running off to somewhere while she boarded the subway, followed by Natsu looking for his pets while the clouds rolled in… and then dragging her willy-nilly into the building after the downpour started. She glanced out the window at the wind-lashed rain and then momentarily at Natsu, who was now leaning more casually against the wall, his hands shoved deep into his pockets and an irrepressible smile at the corners of his lips.
"Actually, everything was just fine," said Lucy, lying through her teeth for no discernible reason.
Natsu looked surprised and then grinned. Lucy blinked. How did he do that? For just a moment, it was as if the rain had stopped and the sun had come out. I'm living a cliché, she thought, rolling her eyes at her own sentimentality. She decided to make a start on appearing professional.
"I'm ready whenever you are," she told Gray. She'd just have to ignore the stocking.
"I'm good to go, too," added Natsu.
Lucy looked between them in surprise. She hadn't expected a job interview to include more than one junior associate, and Natsu and Gray just couldn't be that long out of law school. Gray's lips quirked.
"We've been working here for years, Lucy—only our degrees are kind of new. I'm the head of our forensic law and tax services, and your cover letter mentioned you had some interest in learning current methods for tracking multi-layered companies and complex transactions." Gray paused, then shook his head. "And Pinky over there"—he ignored an obviously automatic "hey" from Natsu—"believe it or not, is the head of our corporate and securities law group. Basically, if you're serious about the kind of law you have in mind, you'll be working with us—mostly Natsu."
Natsu finally pried himself off the wall. With a total disregard for personal boundaries, he walked over and gave Lucy a short, one-armed hug.
"It'll be great!" he assured her, beaming.
Lucy just nodded. But when she sat down for her actual interview, which was conducted by the famous Makarov Dreyar himself and his equally well-known protégée, Erza Scarlet, her heart wasn't hammering against her ribs the way it usually did during important interviews. Even her stomach butterflies had faded substantially. Strangest of all, the storm had abruptly blown itself out, and the sun was shining. All she needed was twittering bluebirds to complete the scene.
Oh well, Lucy thought, resigned. At least it's a good cliché.

How It's Supposed to Be

Lucy didn't really have a plan for running away aside from just running, but coming across the infamous Fairy Tail vigilante group wasn't part of it. Coming face to face with Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail's leader, was definitely not part of it. Self-harm in some chapters, but there are warnings in them.

— I just wanna say thank you so much to everyone who followed along, your comments and suggestions along the way really helped to bring this story to life! It’s my longest fic to date, and to think it started as a one-shot for nalu day 2020 lol. YOU GUYS HELPED MAKE THIS HAPPEN! 🥳🥰🥰 ILY YOU ALL!💜💜💜💜
@mcornilliac special shout out for you help with the toughest part 😘
Even after all these years, riding on a train still brought a small flutter to Lucy’s stomach as she remembered the long ago evening when she’d met her husband. From an innocent meeting to a death defying experience, talk about a roller coaster ride. And yet, if she had to do it all over again, Lucy wouldn’t change a thing. Crazy sounding yes, for why would anyone not want to avoid what she’d gone through? Touka had truly pushed her sanity to the breaking point, but well, the therapist was right in the end and Lucy felt almost invincible now. All that pain, all the struggle she’d pushed through had made her the strong and resilient woman she was today. Happily married to Natsu with their fraternal twins Nashi and Ryuu. Mrs. Natsu Dragneel, Lucy smiled to herself, there was no way she’d change a thing.
Of course, it hadn’t been easy. After Natsu proposed and Lucy had accepted, there were still a lot of work to be done. But that measure of acceptance and affection did wonders. Any worries she’d had that he wouldn’t want a broken woman melted away and gave her the confidence to get better. With each passing therapy session, her strength grew, and by the time they graduated college, Lucy could honestly say she’d been cured to a functional degree. No longer struggling through nightmares and panic attacks, her anxieties were under control and the debilitating depression a distant memory where it belonged.
Yeah... Lucy sighed happily as she watched the landscape pass by from her train seat. Meeting Natsu was the best thing to ever happen in her life, well, aside from the kids. They’d married about a year after graduation on the anniversary of their meeting. It was a beautiful affair at an indoor venue, with close friends and family to join them. They’d gone a more modern route for the ceremony but did take pictures at a garden dressed in the traditional attire for sentimental reasons. Lucy wore the shiromuku white kimono while Natsu a montsuki haori hakama. And no, it wasn’t train themed! Levy was the Maid of Honor and Gray was the best man. By then, Levy and Gajeel were also married and Gray in a serious relationship with a girl named Juvia Lockser. Lucy was so happy for them both. All of their lives were moving in the right direction.
Everything was perfect. Great jobs in their fields of interest, lives settled into a comfortable routine, when 5 years later Lucy was pregnant with fraternal twins. It was a total surprise since twins didn’t run in either of their families. Always the jovial optimist, Natsu joked that they’d been doubly blessed because of what they’d gone through, and Lucy couldn’t help but love such a concept. Of course, once the euphoria of the motherhood prospect waned, reality set in that she was having twins! Two! Double the babies meant double of everything, from the pregnancy concerns to raising them. Growing up without a mother and as an only child, Lucy didn’t have a lot of experience with small children. But Natsu patiently assured her, that she’d do just fine. Think of it as a new challenge, and after overcoming one pretty tough situation, this would be a walk in the park. On the bright side, Levy was also pregnant with the couple’s first child so the two best friend’s kids would grow up together.
And Natsu was right, there were a few bumps in the road but nothing too difficult. During her fourth month Lucy was diagnosed with gestational diabetes as well as some minor gastrointestinal issues, so Natsu swayed the doctor to put her on bed rest. Better safe than sorry. The babies were healthy, but by the 7th month, she really couldn’t move much, and she was miserable being stuck at home all the time. Lucy missed her job because she genuinely enjoyed working for the magazine. But in the end, it had been a good thing. She could manage her health easier that way and it gave her time to do something she’d thought about doing as part of the healing process. With Natsu’s support and permission, it was time to put her writing skills to good use and write a book about their experience.
It became an instant hit, especially with female readers. The book was not only an autobiographical reflection of what had happened to them but focused on shining a light on the dangers of stalkers, as well as the importance of taking the warning signs seriously. Lucy didn’t hold back in her re-telling, even pointing out the serious flaws in Japan’s laws in protecting citizens from stalkers which at the time were nonexistent. Feminist organizations working to change those laws used her story with permission for their cause. She had no intentions of becoming a poster child for the movement, but in the end her role may have played its part, because 2 years after the publishing, Japan finally adopted anti-stalking laws making it easier for police to string together harassment cases, as well as for victims to get the help they needed.
Her life was nothing but exciting to say the least! And with two young children, now age 10 certainly kept them on their toes. Their daughter Nashi was just like Natsu, very outgoing, friendly, but a bit of a daredevil while her brother Ryuu born 4 minutes after her was the quieter of the two. He preferred books like his mother to adventure. Of course, that never stopped Nashi from dragging him into shenanigans! But the best part was how close they still were and fiercely protective of each other. Lucy and Natsu couldn’t be prouder of them and hoped this would continue throughout their lifetimes.
Fifteen years... come to think of it, their wedding anniversary was coming up shortly. With Natsu now a senior fire inspector for the Tokyo prefectural government, he was often busy. Lucy did mind it, because frankly it gave her some peace and quiet. She chuckled at the thought. Not that it was all that peaceful with the twins. But she digressed. His success meant their lives were very comfortable, and her own journalism successes while not as financially based, were still celebrated in their relationship. Natsu never waned in being the dutiful and supportive, always loving husband that Lucy felt blessed to grow old with.
‘Two more stops, pick up the kids from school, stop at the grocery store for dinner...’ Lucy tapped out on her phone a to-do list of ingredients to pick up at the store. Perhaps katsudon... ‘Mmm, or maybe nabe,’ hot-pot soup since it was expected to be a bit chilly that evening.
Lucy looked up briefly, really just spacing out in thought when someone catches her eye. At the other end of the train car, she noticed a woman facing slightly away, but enough to where she couldn’t quite see a face. It couldn’t be... Lucy looked away not wanting to stare, but somehow... for some reason the woman was awfully familiar... looking exactly like Touka. Well, not exactly, but enough to make the hair on the back of her neck stand up. It was a blonde, with a different hair style— and that could always be changed. Similar body type, the facial side-profile features that Lucy could see resembled Touka...
Now despite being better, her anxieties still bubbled up from time to time, so she immediately switched to her coping techniques to calm them down. ‘You’re fine,’ Lucy talked herself through it, ‘no point in getting riled up.’ The woman hadn’t done so much as looked in her direction, so it must be okay. Contrary to popular belief, things like depression and anxiety never fully goes away, especially when someone has experienced a severe level of it. Those emotions and irrational thoughts are forever programmed into the brain, but there are ways to keep them at bay and Lucy’s successfully done just that for 15 years.
‘Just go back to what you were doing. Katsudon or nabe? And don’t forget you need to pick up milk...’ But, fifteen years... could Touka have been released by now? Lucy shook the thought away again. ‘Stop it! Everything is fine. It’s not her!’ The train was semi-full of passengers all minding their own business... including the woman. There was no reason to start panicking now. Lucy adjusts her position on her seat away from the woman’s direction. If she couldn’t see her, she could pretend she didn’t exist. ‘Maybe I should pick up ingredients for both, that way I don’t have to shop tomorrow.’ Lucy thought to herself, and with the kids with her, they could help in carrying the shopping bags. ‘Yeah, we’ve got a plan…’
After figuring out her shopping list, Lucy pulled up social media to keep herself distracted and for a few minutes it did the trick. Silly videos of entertainers never got old. The train reached the next stop and she felt it come to a stop. Since it wasn’t hers, she didn’t pay it any mind as she scrolled through her feed. But as the disembarking passengers funnel past Lucy, her eyes pick up on a pair of pink high-heels peeking from over the edge of her phone. Her body instantly stiffened up from the similarity to the ones worn by the woman, while her curiosity slowly got the better of her. ‘Breath, act nonchalant!’ Lucy’s eyes tracked the high-heels moving past her until they left her periphery. She then slowly sat back up, pretending to readjust her position, when she caught a pair of eyes looking back. Lucy’s breathing hitches with a shaky exhale. “Oh, my god—"
Standing at the doorway with one hand on the frame, the blonde woman smiled at Lucy then winked before stepping off the train.
It was Touka!
