augh i couldn't choose a specific character to ask about but 💥 (collision) and 🙉 (hear no evil) for whoever you think has the most interesting response?

[oc ask game] ahaha i have thought extensively about both questions here bc the soul hunt arc of kc examines these questions for each of nine pairs of characters. i have tons of options, so naturally i’m gonna talk about one of the guys who isn’t even mine (peter). but first for one of my guys (kai):

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with? for kai

at first glance kai is the least interesting person to answer this for bc dude really doesn’t show emotional turbulence at all… he deals with conflict smoothly, he always has a serene smile, his patience is nigh infinite—and while this is true to his nature, there is an undercurrent of rage in him, especially when it comes to defending those he loves, and he hates it. rational, cool-headed kai agrees to postpone saving his wife. every minute that she is in danger stirs something dark within him that he refuses to acknowledge. rational, cool-headed kai is not a vindictive person. every fiber of his being itches to exact revenge of the worst kind against the necromancer. kai will not process this contradiction until he is confronted with the opportunity to rip this man into pieces with his bare hands. he’s going to snap soon and i’m so excited to let it happen.

🙉 HEAR-NO-EVIL - what is the worst thing your oc could hear from someone? for peter

so many characters over eight campaigns have tried and failed to find the answer to this question for peter bc the dude really does not take offense to anything. he doesn’t take criticism, and he acts so carefree and callous towards others that it’s hard to see any of his insecurities—but there is one easy way to shake peter to his core. tell him people care about him. tell him that because these people care, his recklessness will endanger both them and the mission. tell him that his death will achieve little, and those left behind will mourn. he won’t believe you at first, but the idea will fester over time until he is forced to consider the fact that maybe he cares, too, and it’s worth finding another way to avoid hurting them.

as a 19 year old he’s most occupied with making sure that everyone forgets what he was like during middle school. on a more serious note i think he’s gonna sidestep how much the barovia and count strahd in question scared the shit out of him when the party escapes fr. like haha all in the past now gang B) i was not worried (he was literally freaking out 80% of the time

full disclosure i have no idea where this ask is going to end- i think i remember you mentioning in the tags at one point that you are a physics major and i did see you said you have a mechanics final coming up (godspeed on that o7) and i think i just want to say,

as an english major being forced to temporarily ignore the siren call of calc II i'm pointing at you and waving excitedly. big fan of your work

thank you for the exam wishes ^-^! I have been staring at my textbook for probably a bit too long wishing it would tell me something new and helpful. we need english majors for many reasons but I think a big one is that most stem majors couldn't write a textbook to save their dog/cat/other beloved pet XD.

and sadly the siren call of calc 2 imo is less of a siren and more of a really big dragon that will eat you and hates everything and everyone so so much. you must kill the dragon with the most unwieldy terrible sword known to man that also happens to require knowing how to do trig substitution to use. I am praying for your success and giving a forced-grimace thumbs up in return as I am about to be crushed by an anvil under projectile motion :3.
