Gary Miller (born September 15, 1958), better known by his stage name Dr.Know, is the guitarist for one of the first all-black punk bands, Bad Brains. He is one of the best guitarists in punk/hardcore. I’ve been a fan of the band for nearly 20 years. The band is known for its high energy and setting, helping to set the standard of high-energy sounds and shows. Bad Brain was led by singer H.R. and was known for his high energy and wild stage antics, but the necessary guitar work of Dr. Know helped balance it out. The band did more than play punk. They expanded into reggae and metal. At the height of their career, Dr. Know played punk with more “ layers” than most punk bands. Dr. Know was able to adapt to reggae and to metal quickly. Years ago(1999), a friend said,“ People think Agnostic Front wrote the blueprint to hardcore; they didn’t. It was Bad Brian.” Dr. Know’s metal chops are on full display in the album Black Dots and one of my favorite albums, Quickness. Unfortunately, Dr. Know had a bit of a health scare a few years ago but has been back playing the punk music that fans of Bad Brains have grown to love.

Dr.Know
to WRITE to whomever giveth us thoughts, of men, of its origins, (is it?)a thought or a whisper? (is it?) a sigh or a hymn of the heart?
it speaks for what it is, are you listening to me your sister i am a mother and a brother to you yet you ignore though my heart speaks the truth, but then again in this generation, i am always “uncool”
do i not seek what you seek? love what you love? then again who is blind? we are! for we do what is right in our sight nowadays do we live wth what is true or what we want is what we want to live by? till when do we fool ourselves? you say you are wise do you believe in impossibilities? do you believe in “cover-up” facts, pseudo reality, a “ready made” for it is easy to consume, chewable man-made crap
do you believe in spirits do you believe in GOD we know for sure..
science of ever prover ever preaching reality of what is life it heals it saves it reveals the secret of every atom in the universe, to interpret the mind?dreams phenomenon of the mind? and so they will eventually dictate our mind shall speak freely make music (out of it) so we say we know will know for we are wise?
may i ask dr.science, who had form your genisis you genius mind and body truly you are the body of knowledge made up of billions, zillions thoughts and put it to test and you are always right what is common good?
very well then, do you have the formulae of the spirit? the one who whispers this words from the tree? the sun, the moon the stars, the clouds the earth and the seas made perfect for us men cause to exist to the ultimate chemical reaction that evolved us to men surely , you are getting closer
can you explain the maker of the source, the MAKER of the MAKER perhaps, till when will you cover up the truth till when will you ignore the voice which tells you this to accept that there is someone a spirit the one who crafted this marvels the one who weaves time now speaks to you
is it a pride and fear of being named a fool to believeth in something you do not see feel, hear without logic is FAITH and you wear it in shame for it remains unnamed you wait for the sap from the breasts of knowledge consume it like a hungry beast and you wear it upon your sleeves ignoring the limb devine whispering to you now do you? you have heard something
this i tell you brothers and sisters we have been concealed in the dark helpless and inoccent trapped for we were caught in the net of the wicked basterdizing the truth and mislead us provoked the truth to anger and hidden itself and only for the ones who seek he who’ll find
pray that you hear the truth pray that you see the light pray that you live in the truth of life which whispers
