Theo was already corrupted before the Dread Doctors got to him.
In 5x19 they literally say it point out that he was basically already evil to some extent. At 31:05 "Not a complete failure. We learned from you"
And what they learned is that you need someone "innocent/good" and corrupting them to create the perfect evil. Hence why they took Mason.
Theo was a failure because he was already corrupted, because he was already to some extent "evil"
(5x19)
The dread doctors didn't "torture" Theo to the extent some people make it out to be either. He WAS a willing participant. Yes, he was a child so there for, yes it's iffy, and I am not saying Theo didn't get affected by the Dread Doctors at all and what happened.
The thing is he isn't some innocent little kid they just choose to corrupt. He wanted to be a Chimera, that's why he killed his sister. So that the Doctors could transplant it into him making him a natural Chimera.
In 5x11 Dr Valack explains that Theo was the first step in the right direction for the Dread Doctors for making the "perfect evil" and is the reason they changed their methods in creating one.
They changed their methods to "corrupting something truly good" to create the "perfect evil" because they originally thought to create the "perfect evil" they had to start with the "perfect killer" that is said as stated before.

Reasons to love the fic: We can start with me vibrating with excitement over dark! Scott. I was soo excited. We can then add how much I love aus and especially canon divergent ones. I love all of the little hints about how things are different and how things are the same filter through Theo's eyes here. Gyahh. This fic is so fun, and I am eagerly awaiting the next part!
Be sure and let the author know if you enjoyed the fic!

After getting to hospital with our dads, Stiles and I were standing at the nurses station… and I was getting frustrated.
“Stilinski and Thomas, right?” the nurse asked.
Stiles nodded while I let out an exasperated, “Yes.”
“You said their insurances are with the county? They're deputies?”
“No, he's-- Stilinski’s the Sheriff. He's the county Sheriff,” Stiles said.
“Thomas is the deputy,” I said. “Okay, they're covered!”
“I mean, they should be covered,” Stiles said.
We both sighed as we felt hands on our backs. Looking over our shoulders, we saw that the hands belonged to Melissa.
“I'll take care of it,” she said. She grabbed a clipboard as Stiles grabbed my hand, the two of us walking with her down the hallway.
“I texted Scott,” she said. “He's coming as soon as he can. I can call Malia.”
“No, no, no,” Stiles said. “Don't-don't call anyone.”
“Is there anyone else we need to notify? A next of kin?” the nurse asked.
I looked over my shoulder at her. “Yeah. My mom. Deputy Thomas' wife. Rose Carter.” I turned back around and sighed deeply, trying to hold myself together.
“It's just me for the Sheriff,” Stiles said.
Melissa walked Stiles and I to the waiting room, where we sat side by side in the chairs provided.
I was leaned back in my seat, hand rubbing Stiles' back as he leaned forward, elbows on his knees, hands rubbing together. He looked up and put his hands up to his mouth, and I just knew that he had tears in his eyes. So, I did what any other girlfriend would do; leaned forward and rested my chin against his shoulder. He turned his head slightly in my direction, careful not to knock our heads together.
“It's gonna be okay,” I whispered. “Your dad's gonna be okay.”
“You're not worried about yours?” he asked.
I nodded. “I am. But I also have Mom to do all the worrying and crying for me.” I scooted forward until I was almost on the edge of my seat, facing him more. “You've been my rock since we were kids. It's my turn to be that for you.”
He sighed and put his forehead against mine. “I love you.”
“I love you more,” I whispered. I pulled my head back a little. “Come here.” I leaned back and put my hand on his shoulder, guiding him to sit back some more. “Try and get a nap in. We both have had a long day.”
He nodded a little, but put his arm around my shoulder, guiding me to lean against him as best I could. I felt him press his lips to the top of my head as I closed my eyes. Within a few minutes, I was asleep. I wasn't so sure about Stiles, but I'm sure he fell asleep not long after I did.
~~~
I wasn't sure how much time had passed before I felt Stiles jump a little, which caused me to wake up.
We both were breathing heavily just a little as we both noticed Melissa sitting in front of us. I only knew that he also noticed her because the grip he had on me loosened a little.
“They're okay. They're both okay,” Melissa said. “Dr. Geyer is stitching them up right now.”
Stiles and I looked at each other in relief.
“Okay, I wanna see him,” Stiles said. He started to get up, but with mine and Melissa's hand on his shoulders, we sat him back down.
“Okay, okay,” she said. She looked at me for a second before looking back at Stiles, addressing the both of us. “The anesthesia needs to wear off. It's gonna be at least two hours.”
“Okay, yeah, but everything's gonna be okay though, I mean, he's okay?” Stiles rushed out.
She hummed in agreement, and nodded a little.
“What about my dad? Is he gonna be okay, too?” I asked.
She looked at me and smiled a little. “They're gonna be just fine.”
I watched as Stiles sat back in his chair, tears filling his eyes as he sighed, “Oh, thank God.” He put his hands up to his mouth in relief. I was happy that my dad and godfather were going to be okay, but something deep inside of me told me that wasn't the case. I just needed to figure out what.
Deaton told me once that my abilities were gonna be a little more powerful than Lydia's. I'm guessing this is what he meant; that I would sense and feel bad things. I still had to be that rock for Stiles right now, though. I had my mom to do all the crying for me about my dad.
Stiles and I had gotten up from our seats to go see our dads. Something wasn't right when we looked at them. I sighed and closed my eyes, shaking my head. When I opened them up, they were Green... like always.
“Scott, Parrish... Lydia?” I whispered.
“What?” Stiles asked.
“Few pack members are here.Nothing to worry about.”
I felt as Scott's presence got stronger as Mom, Stiles and I were standing in front of our dad's rooms, talking to Dr. Geyer.
“What do you mean you don't know?” Stiles asked. “Two hours ago, they were fine. Now it looks like somebody took a baseball bat to their necks.”
“There could've been some minor internal,” Dr. Geyer said.
“Did you say minor internal?” I asked. “Since when is anything internal minor?”
“Kids,” Melissa said.
“No! We need to know what's going on with our dads, okay?” I said, looking right at Melissa. I looked at Dr. Geyer with my next words. “Dr. Geyer, somebody needs to tell us what's happening.”
“Somebody needs to tell us what's happening to them!” Stiles said, voice a little louder than mine.
As I took Stiles' right hand in my left, I wrapped my right hand around his arm, tears filling my eyes as Melissa looked from us to my Mom to our dads then back to us.
“We don't know,” Melissa said.
Stiles and I looked at each other before I looked out the window to the other side of the hallway. From the corner of my eye, I saw Stiles look over. We both watched as Scott stood at the other door to our dads rooms. I'm sure all that Stiles saw was red because he started walking towards Scott.
“Stiles,” I said.
He shoved the door open and stalked towards Scott. He grabbed Scott's jacket and slammed him against the wall then turned him and slammed his back against the ground.
As I started running towards them, I heard Stiles say, “Where were you?”
“Stiles!” I said, grabbing his shoulders to pull him off our best friend.
“You trusted him,” Stiles said, eyes locked on Scott. “You believed him. Right, huh? So where were you?”
“Melissa! Mom!” I said, turning my head over my shoulder to address them.
They both came running over, saying, “Hey, hey, hey!” to get Stiles' attention.
“Where the hell were you?!” Stiles shouted.
“Babe, stop!” I said, having help getting Stiles off of Scott. When we had both boys apart from each other, I stood in front of Stiles.
“Okay, alright, alright,” Stiles said. There were two other officers from the station that helped us get them apart. One standing beside me and Stiles, the other by Scott and Melissa. I looked over at Mom, who looked horrified at the scene she'd just witnessed.
Looking back up at Stiles, I put my hands on his cheeks, guiding his eyes to mine. “Babe, stop,” I said, calmly. “Not here. Now's not the time.”
“But he--”
“I know. I know,” I said. “Now isn't the time nor the place.”
He was still panting when he looked from me to Scott. Putting my hands on Stiles' chest, I turned my body a little to look at Scott, all three of us staring at each other.
“Your dad's not the only ones who got hurt,” Scott said.
“Oh, you'll heal,” Stiles snarked.
I sighed. I was pretty pissed at Scott as well, but not this pissed.
“Em?” Scott said. “Got any comebacks?”
“You're a damn idiot, Scott McCall,” I said. “We warned you and you didn't listen. Stiles is right. You'll heal.” I sassed the last two words.
I looked down at his shirt, seeing blood seeping through right before he moved his jacket to cover it.
“I'm not talking about me,” he said.
My eyes widened. “What room is she in?” I didn't wait for Scott to answer as I bolted from where I was standing to the elevators, clicking on the button of the floor I knew she'd be on. Stiles followed suit. Once we got to the floor we needed, I ran out of the elevator and down to her room. I took two steps when I felt Stiles behind me.
Laying on the bed with her mom sitting beside her was Lydia... looking catatonic. Tears filled my eyes once again at the sight of one of my best friends lying there helpless. Who the hell did this to her?
Mrs. Martin looked back at us, anger in her eyes. “No,” she said, standing from the bed.
“Mrs. Martin,” I tried.
“No, you don't. Neither of you are coming in here.”
Stiles moved around me a couple of steps.
“Get out!” Mrs. Martin said.
“Just wait, wait. I think I know who did this, okay,” Stiles said. “Let Emma look at the back of her neck.”
“I know who did this. You!” She shoved Stiles back, causing him to stumble back towards me. “All of you! Get out!”
“Mrs. Martin,” I said.
“Lydia was right to no longer be friends with you,” she sneered at me.
“Mrs, Martin, please. Just listen to us,” I said, tears falling from my eyes. “You just gotta check the back--”
“Just get out!”
“Just check the back of her neck!” I yelled.
“Out!” she said, successfully getting us out of the room before shutting the door in our faces.
Stiles put an arm around my shoulders, guiding me away from Lydia's room. He led us to the morgue. I guess this was gonna be our regular meeting place in the hospital...
Once Parrish, Scott, Mom and Melissa were in the room with us, we told them what we saw of Lydia. Parrish and Scott already knew because apparently Parrish found her like that at the Nemeton and Scott had helped bring her to the hospital.
“It could be a side effect of shock,” Parrish said.
“She's catatonic,” Stiles said, putting his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his side. “It was Theo digging his way through her mind.”
“Why would he do that?” Mom asked.
“What was he looking for?” Melissa asked.
“The same thing he's always looking for,” Scott said. “An advantage.”
“So what did he gain by trying to kill Stilinski and Thomas?” Parrish asked.
“It left me alone with Liam. Theo wanted to take sure no one would be there to stop him from killing me.”
“Okay, so he gutted our dads as a distraction,” I said, wrapping my right arm around Stiles' back and placing my left hand on his chest.
“We need to find this kid,” Parrish said.
“Isn't that a little dangerous?” Mom asked.
“Yeah, especially since he almost killed my kid?” Melissa said.
“Yeah, but he said he didn't want our dads to die,” Stiles said.
“And you both believe him?” Parrish said.
“I'm not sure what the hell to believe anymore,” I sighed.
“He told me where to find them,” Stiles said.
“So, maybe he also knows how to save them,” I added.
“What do you want to do?” Mom asked. “Talk to him?”
“If it saves Dad and Noah, then yeah,” I said, looking at my mom.
“I'll come with you. He doesn't know that I'm alive,” Scott said. “Maybe that gives us an advantage.”
“He'll know you're there,” Stiles said, moving around me to walk towards the door. “I just need to talk to him, not fight him.”
“Babe, you can't go alone,” I said.
“That's why you're coming with me.”
“Does anyone even know how to find him?” Parrish asked.
“We don't have to find him,” Stiles said. “He'll come to me.”
He looked at me and I sighed deeply.
~~~
When we got to Scott's, we left the door open. Stiles sat down the stairs, facing the doors while I stood in front of him, blocking the door for the time being.
“You sure this'll work?” I asked, arms crossed.
“It has to,” he said, quietly. “I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't.”
I sighed and stood on the last step, to which Stiles put his hands on my waist and placed his head on my stomach. I put my hands on his shoulders and rubbed his arms up and down.
He picked his head up and softly squeezed my waist after a couple of seconds, causing me to look down at him. Motioning his head for me to come here, I leaned down at the same time he sat up a little straighter. Our lips connected in a soft kiss. Pulling back, we placed our foreheads against each other as I sighed.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
“For what?” I asked.
“Always being there.”
I chuckled. “Always, babe. And thank you.”
He furrowed his brows. “For what?”
I smirked. “Being my hero.”
He chuckled a little. “I hate it when you do this.”
“Please?”
He sighed and looked down. “I'm not a hero, Em.”
I placed my finger under his chin, lifting his head up and looking him in the eyes. “You'll always be my hero.”
I turned around and sat on the step below him, tilting my head back while he placed his arms on my shoulders, lacing his fingers in front of me.
About two minutes later, Theo walked up to the door, standing at the line of Mountain Ash.
Stiles and I looked at him as he stood there, looking at the Ash. He looked back up at us and stepped over the line, causing me to raise a brow with sass.
“Nice to see that you still have your sass, Emma,” Theo said.
“Yeah, it probably won't ever go away,” I sassed.
He chuckled. “I guess we're all telling the truth now.” He looked up at the staircase. I was really hoping at this point that he wasn't sensing Scott standing up there.
Stiles tossed Theo Scott's shirt that he'd taken off as part of our plan.
“You killed our best friend?” Stiles said.
“And don't lie. I know you did because his name came bellowing out of my mouth. Banshee senses and all,” I said.
Theo looked at the shirt then back up at us. “Let's be honest, guys. Was he still really your best friend?”
“Are you gonna let our fathers die?” I asked.
“If I wanted them to die, I wouldn't have told Stiles where you can find them.” He tossed Scott's shirt off to the side.
Stiles moved his arms and tapped me on the shoulder, asking me to get up. So that's what I did. I stood up and moved off to the side.
“Then why are they saying both their bodies are shutting down?” Stiles said, standing from the staircase.
I leaned against the wall, crossing my arms, tears now filling my eyes. “That some toxin is poisoning them and they don't know how to stop it.”
“I'm not the bad guy, Emma,” Theo said.
“Oh, how I wanna believe that,” I sassed.
“I'm just a realist. I'm a survivor. If you knew the things that I know--”
“Yeah, but what do you know?” Stiles asked.
“I know what's coming. And so does Emma,” Theo said.
The face I gave him read anger.
“We know what the Dread Doctors created.”
“Uhm, you do. I just know that death is coming. For a lot of people.”
Theo looked at me. “Would you quit interrupting?” He sighed and looked back at Stiles. “And I know what Parrish is. Lydia figured it out. I saw it in her memories.”
“Right after you drove her out of her freaking mind,” I said. I uncrossed my arms, fully intending on attacking him, but Stiles grabbed my hand. He just knew me like that.
“Collateral damage,” Theo said.
I launched myself at him, but Stiles wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling my back flush against his chest.
“But if she's right about Parrish, then things around here are gonna get a lot worse.”
“I don't care,” Stiles whispered.
“You should,” Theo said. “Because if both your dads do survive, they're not gonna be Sheriff and Deputy of anything much longer.”
“What's happening to them?!” I yelled. I pushed off Stiles, really wanting to kick this Chimera's ass.
Theo just turned around to start walking out the door.
“Hey, tell us!” Stiles yelled. He walked up to Theo and turned him around by his shoulder.
Theo did turn around. However, he pushed Stiles back by his chest against the stairs and pushed me onto the floor of the living room.
I heard a thud, like Stiles had hit something on the stairs.
“Stiles?!” I yelled. I got up and moved to the stairs, seeing him laying there, almost lifeless. “Stiles!” I placed my hands on his cheeks, rubbing my thumbs against his skin. “Stiles, you have to wake up. Babe, wake up. Open your eyes. Please. Wake up.” I looked up the staircase. “Scott! Get down here!”
Scott came running down the stairs, jumping over Stiles' body.
I looked back down at Stiles. “Stiles. Stiles!” He opened his eyes and locked them with mine as I sighed in relief. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
“I'm fine,” he said, getting up.
I stood beside Scott as Stiles stood in front of us.
“Babe, you blacked out,” I said.
“I'm okay,” he said, holding his hand out for me. I took it as he pulled me into a hug.
We both looked back to Scott.  “Did you get anything from him, Scotty?” I asked.
“Nothing. He was calm the entire time,” he said.
“What about his heart?” Stiles asked.
“I heard it jump, but only once, and only for a second.”
“That doesn't mean he was lying, does it?”I asked.
“No,” Stiles said.
“Not really,” Scott said. “The rest of the time it was steady.”
“When did it jump? What were we talking about?”
Scott thought about the conversation for a second. “It was when you said your dads were poisoned.”
Stiles and I looked at each other. “That could be something,” I shrugged.
“A jump could mean surprise, right?” Stiles asked.
“Yeah, yeah, I think so,” Scott said.
“Alright, so why would he be surprised that our dads are still dying?” I asked.
Scott looked at me like he knew something. “Oh, wait. He didn't say that he was the one who attacked your dads, did he?”
“No,” Stiles and I whispered.
“Well, then this means it was probably someone else,” Stiles said.
“Another Chimera,” Scott and I said.
The feeling of our dads dying hit me like a bus. “We gotta hurry and find out who it is,” I said. “They're dying... and fast.”
~~~
Stiles and I jumped into my Jeep. He's lucky I'm letting him drive it. After we both closed the doors, he locked them, not wanting Scott to come along.
“Stiles,” I said. “Don't.”
Scott tried to open the door behind me, but couldn't because... well, it was locked.
“Stiles?” Scott said.
“Yeah, we can do the rest ourselves,” Stiles said.
“We don't even know where to start,” I said.
“Emma's right. All we know is that it's another Chimera,” Scott said. “Do you even know where you're headed?”
Stiles started the Jeep up.
“Come on. Let me help. I can find the clues that you can't.”
Stiles put the Jeep in drive, fully prepared to drive off without hearing another word from Scott. Didn't work 'cause Scott just moved in front of my Jeep.
They both looked at each other like the other was crazy. I sighed and opened my door.
“Where are you going?” Stiles asked.
“We can't do this alone, Stiles,” I said, authority in my voice. I got out and took steps towards Scott. “Now, I get that we're both equally pissed at Scott, but that doesn't mean that we can't work together on not having our dads die. If you two don't get over all this shit with Theo in order to save our fathers lives, then I don't want any part of this. Count me the hell out.”
It was silent between us three for a few seconds before Scott spoke up. “She's right, Stiles. You can't do this alone, okay. You need me. You need all of us. I can get more help. I can text Liam.”
“Liam just tried to kill you,” Stiles said.
“Okay, then at least let me help,” Scott begged.
“You believed him?”
“You trusted him, too.”
I got back in the Jeep, closing the door behind me. “Theo got to all of us.”
“Babe, he doesn't even know the real story,” Stiles said, looking over to me.
“He doesn't need to. At least not right now. All that matters right now is our dads, handsome.”
He kept his eyes on me as he sunk in the seat a little bit.
“Come on, Stiles. Emma's right here,” Scott said.
I looked over at Scott, seeing him nod his head, telling me to keep going. Stiles always listened to me in serious situations like this. I wasn't about to stop now.
“Look at me,” I said. Stiles turned his head over to look at me as I took my hand in his. “We survived an Alpha pack, a Dark Druid, professional assassins. You survived Nogitsune.”
“You survived Peter, Matt and the Kanima,” Stiles countered back.
“Yeah. Because I had you and Scott by my side. We're The Three Musketeers. Hell, the Three Stooges, even.”
He looked at me, nothing but love and understanding in his eyes.
I put my hand on his cheek, feeling him lean into my touch. “We can survive Dread Doctors and Chimeras, too.”
He picked his head up and danced his eyes around. “We're not looking for a missing Chimera. We're looking for a missing teenager.”
~~~
Stiles ended up driving the three of us back to his house, where he and I took showers and changed.
After I got dressed in my room, I walked into Stiles' room, watching as he worked on whatever it is they agreed upon.
Scott picked his head up from where he was looking. “Oh, good. You're here.”
“Uhm, yeah?” I said.
“Next time I'm here, can you two not go at it in the shower?”
“Your fault for listening in,” I sassed. I walked into the room more and around the crime board.
I guess Stiles just ignored what Scott said because he walked over to us with his phone. “There was a call a few hours ago about a sophomore from Beacon High who never came home last night.”
“What's his name?” Scott asked.
“Noah Patrick.”
We looked up at the list of Chimeras we printed, Scott pointing to Noah's name.
“You're gonna need a scent, right?” I asked, looking up at Scott.
“Where are we gonna get one?” Scott asked.
~~~
We went to the school and ended up finding his locker.  “Break the lock and get his jacket,” I said.
Scott broke the lock on Noah's locker, opening it and grabbing the jacket that was inside.
“How did you know this was in here?” Scott asked.
“I keep one in mine in case someone hurries me out the door and I get cold. Doesn't everyone keep a jacket in their locker?” I said.
He sighed and made an impressed face. “Well... now we can catch his scent.”
“Like I've said.”
He turned and tossed the jacket into the hallway. I didn't see who caught it until I looked around Scott.
“You called her?” I asked.
“Em, we need all the help we can get,” Scott said. “I should be calling everyone.”
“And I know what this kid looks like,” Malia said.
She and I looked at each other, still trying to be civil. I keep going back and forth with her, but I can't help but be a little salty towards her. I mean, she did threaten my life at the same time while confessing her feelings for Stiles.
I sighed. “Alright.”
I wasn't too happy about this, but I guess I would have to deal.
~~~
We drove to the old abandoned train station, where Malia hopped out and walked down a set of stairs from the ledge into the tunnel where the train would pass through. Scott and Malia were a few steps ahead of us when Stiles decided to stop for a couple seconds.
I turned around and saw him standing by the ledge, looking for something. “Babe?” I said, causing him to quickly stand up straight.
“Yeah?”
“You okay?”
He sighed and looked down at the ground. “Yeah, I'm fine.”
It was my turn to sigh as I walked over to him, standing in front of him. “No, you're not.”
“How are you so good at that?” he asked.
I smirked and chuckled a little. “We've known each other since we were in diapers, been best friends since and have been dating for over a year. I think I know when something's wrong.”
He looked at me for a couple seconds. “I don't know. I guess it's our dads. I mean, everything that's happened to them has been because of us.”
“Hey,” I whispered, putting my hand on his arm. “Don't blame yourself or us for all of this. Someone's bound to get hurt because of the supernatural. It's been that way since Scott got bit. You know that.”
“Yeah, but I didn't think the first person to get seriously hurt by it would be you,” he said, voice soft.
“Shit happens. I survived. Our dads are gonna survive,” I said, emphasizing the last few words. “We're going to figure this out, take whatever information back to Melissa, and they're gonna fix Dad and Noah back up, and then they're going to heal and be back to normal before we know it. Okay?”
He looked at me for a few more seconds before nodding his head and pulling me into a hug. I placed the side of my head against his chest as he rested his chin on the top of my head, and breathed in his scent, loving this moment we're having. It's felt like forever since we've had a moment to ourselves like this.
“Where the hell is she going?” Stiles muttered.
“Hmm?” I said. I turned my body around some, seeing Malia walk into the ledge, basically. “Strange. Didn't know we all were going to Hogwarts.”
Stiles snickered as we walked down to meet Scott to walk into the wall. Hogwarts, here we come! When we got inside the wall, we were met with wind, weird, and tunnels.
“I got it,” Malia said. “I got his scent.”
“What else would you get? His number?” I sassed.
Scott turned to look at me as I saw Malia's shoulders tense up.
“Not the time for jokes, I get it,” I said, hands up in surrender.
Malia started walking down the tunnel, us following her after a few steps.
~~~
After following Malia down the tunnels for God knows how long, she stopped at a pipe and swiped her finger across it. I looked at her finger, seeing blood on it.
“Please tell me that's yours,” I said.
“This is Noah's. He was here,” she informed.
“Touching other peoples blood. Lovely.”
“I think he's close,” she said, ignoring my statement. Good job.
Scott walked down a tunnel that was behind us. “Guys. I think we've been down tunnels like this before, like when we were looking for Liam and Hayden.”
Stiles and I walked over to Scott, standing in front of him.
“Okay, so what?” Stiles said.
Scott looked down the tunnel. “Maybe, it means we're closer than we think. Maybe there's something else down here. Something that we haven't found yet.” He turned his head back to face us.
“Yeah, nothing that helps Dad and Sheriff, Scotty,” I said.
“Look, she's right. We can't just be standing around here waiting for something to--” Stiles said.
I was knocked out of the way by an unseen force, sending Stiles to collide with the wall.
“Not again,” I said, crawling over to him. “Stiles. Babe, wake up. Wake the hell up or I'm gonna slap you.” I placed my hands on his shoulders, rubbing his arms. “Stiles, wake up.”
He lifted his right hand up by my face, so I grabbed it with mine, lacing our fingers together. “Babe. Stiles.” He opened his eyes as Scott helped me stand him up. He pulled me into another hug.
“You okay?” I asked.
“Yeah, fine,” he said.
“One more hit like that and you're gonna also be in the hospital.”
Malia's growls stopped my train of thought. I looked over and saw that she had a kid pinned to the ground.
“Freaking hothead,” I mumbled.
“Let me go, please, please,” the kid said. He looked over at Scott, Stiles and I. “They're coming.” He looked back up at Malia, who looked at us, fangs on display.
We all heard the sound of the Dread Doctors. Scott and Stiles looked to their right while I looked to my left down the tunnel, seeing if we were gonna be able to see them to no avail.
Stiles turned his head as Malia let the kid, who I soon recognized to be Noah, go. He let go of me and stopped Noah from running past us, pinning him to the wall.
“You're not going anywhere,” Stiles said.
“I said I don't remember,” Noah said.
I walked over to them. “You don't remember anything?” I asked, eyes narrowed.
“No. Not when it happens. Not when I change.”
“You clawed our dads half to death, okay, and now it's poisoning them,” Stiles said. “So you're gonna start remembering every detail right now.”
“Scott, I hear them,” Malia said.
“Yeah, I do, too,” Scott said. “Hey, guys, get him out of here. Go to the hospital. Figure out a way to save both your dads.”
“We're not gonna be able to stop them.”
“But we can slow them down. Stiles, Emma, go.”
Stiles looked back at Scott, who nodded his head. He looked back at me and I raised my left brow as I said, “As unbelievably hot as you're being right now, we really need to go or else we're gonna be attending a joint funeral for our dads, okay? Let's go.”
Stiles looked back at Noah, shoving him forward. I followed after them, hearing Scott grunting in pain. I couldn't think about that now. I just had to think about saving Dad and Sheriff.
I heard gunshots and was very confused by it. Why the hell was I hearing gunshots as we were running for our lives? We ended up at a gate that was locked with a chain around it.
Stiles picked it up, not believing we were being stopped by this lock. “Oh, damn it.”
“Step back,” Noah said. “I think I can break through it. It's just sometimes, most of the time, I lose control. So, you both better step back.”
“Okay,” Stiles said. He moved in front of me, backing me up a little with his arm out in a protective stance.
Noah rolled up his sleeves, ready to break this lock. He groaned as bones came out of his skin. He lifted his arm and slashed through the chain, unwrapping it from the gate, and pulling it open.
As he was doing this, I looked at one of the pieces of bone on his hand, seeing a little bit of blood.
“Babe, the bone on his hand, look. There's blood,” I said.
After Noah got the gate open, he looked at us. “Let's go.” He ran without seeing if we were still behind him or not.
Stiles took a couple of steps forward. “Call Melissa.”
I pulled out my phone and dialed her up.
“You got something?” she asked.
“It's bone marrow. There's bone in them,” I said. “A Chimera with Berserker type bones must've stabbed them, leaving a piece of bone in them. It's bone marrow poisoning.”
I hung up without another word, hoping to hear good news later.
~~~
We made it back to the hospital, walking through the doors. Melissa stood as she saw us walk in, giving us a relieved look and a nod.
Stiles and I ran from Scott, Malia and Argent. Didn't know he was back, but kudos. We made it to both our dads room. I laid beside him in his bed, carefully putting my arm around his middle. Mom sat in the chair beside the bed, holding his right hand since I was on his left.
I looked over at Stiles, a small smile on my face at the sight of our dads looking healthy again.
We both must've fallen asleep to the sounds of the heart monitors. I had woken up to the feeling of someone rubbing my arm. Looking up, I connected my eyes with my dad, tears filling them instantly.
I carefully hugged him, careful not to yank any cords. “I thought I was gonna lose you,” I softly cried.
“Never, sweetheart. I promise,” Dad said. He kissed the top of my head.
I opened my eyes, seeing Sheriff put his hand on Stiles' shoulder, causing Stiles to wake up. He sat up a little and looked at his dad.
“It's okay, Stiles. You still got me,” Sheriff said.
Stiles grabbed his Sheriff's hand before he turned his head over his shoulder, looking at me for a split second.
I held my dad just a little bit tighter before I fell right back asleep.

My Future
Derek Hale x OC
Samantha, Stiles and Scott are always joking about the impossible. Who wouldn't when your best friend's dad is the sheriff of Beacon Hills? All jokes stop when they realize the impossible is indeed possible.

Chapter 45: Break In to Break Out
"What I'm about to show you isn't supposed to exist," Deaton explained. They looked confused as he pulled out a bunch of pictures. He placed the first picture on the table.
"This is the only surviving evidence of Dr. Valack's time as Chief Medical Officer of Eichen House."
"This is fucked…", Sam muttered, looking at the picture.
One person had no skin around his mouth visibly showing teeth.
"To call it human experimentation would be charitable.", Deaton frowned.
Scott took a picture of a woman that was covering her ears and seemed to be yelling in pain. "A Banshee. She died screaming."
The teens watched as he placed a couple more pictures, but these victims had drilled holes in their heads.
"So, he drilled holes into their heads?", Stiles asked. "All of them?"
"That was the experimentation part," Deaton explained. Stiles frowned, concerned. "He did it to Werewolves, Banshees, Wendigos, any creature he could get his hands on. And Valack found that trepanation would initially heighten their powers, but to levels that it couldn't be contained."
"So, he's trying to make Lydia more powerful.", Sam said.
"Yeah. Except she's going to end up like them.", Stiles said. "Worse, actually.", Deaton said. Sam's eyes widened. "How worse?"
"Lydia's abilities were already pretty exceptional, to begin with. Putting a hole in her head will be like causing a leak in a nuclear reactor. She'll hear everything. Every death, every dying scream, all at once.", Deaton explained.
"That's going to kill her.", Scott said, worriedly.
"Not only that…", Deaton started. "Her own dying scream could be so powerful that it might actually kill everyone around her as well.", he said, making everyone shrink with dread.
"There's four steps.", Stiles said, walking them through his plan. "We get into Eichen, we get into the Closed Unit, we get Lydia, get out."
"And we have to do all of this while getting past orderlies," Scott brought up. "Guards, electric door locks, and a Mountain Ash barrier."
"You have a plan for all of that?", Malia questioned.
Stiles held up a pass. "I stole this last night off an orderly."
Sam was ready to scold him, "Stiles–"
"But it's useless 'cause they reset the codes each night.", Stiles explained quickly.
"So why did you take it?", Kira asked.
"I'm getting to that.", Stiles replied.
"The only way to get Lydia out of Eichen is to make that keycard work again.", Scott said.
"How are you going to do that?", Liam asked, and Sam nodded in agreement.
"We're getting to that," Stiles repeated, "Okay, just listen." He turned his computer towards them. "I pulled all the history off the key card. Two weeks ago, there was a brownout and the security system rebooted. During a reboot, all of the key cards revert back to a default code."
"So, if we trigger a reboot…"
"The card goes back to the default code." Liam finished.
"It'll work again."
"Okay, so how're we gonna cause a brownout?", Sam asked.
"That's Kira's part.", Scott said, looking at Kira. "You're going to draw power from the mainline." She looked a bit worried. "But only enough to cause the brownout."
"Not a blackout," Stiles said, firmly. "Do that and you send Eichen into a lockdown which would be bad. Very, very bad."
"There's an electrical room behind the reception counter.", Scott said and pointed to the room on the blueprint. "The main power line goes into two breakers that run power to all of Eichen."
Kira laughed nervously, "Okay, slight problem. I don't know how to do that."
"That's okay." Scott replied. "You have time to practice."
"Okay, let's say all this goes perfectly.", Sam said. "How do we cause a brownout and how does that help us get into the Closed Unit of Eichen?"
"The system takes five minutes to reboot.", Stiles replied. "In that five minutes all the alarms will be turned off and the key card should work."
"Liam, Sam, we'll get Stiles to the gate of the Closed Unit," Scott explained. "But after that, he has to go on his own. We can't get past the Mountain Ash barrier. And when we're gone, all anyone's going to think is that there was a security system reboot caused by a brownout."
Stiles nodded in agreement then looked at all of the rest, "Uh, any questions?"
Liam looked confused, "How do we get into Eichen House in the first place?"
"What's our worst-case scenario?", Malia asked.
"What if I can't do it?", Kira asked worriedly.
"Okay, admittedly, a lot could go wrong," Stiles said.
"Everything could go wrong," Liam said.
"That's why we need to make a good plan.", Sam said, making her friends look at her. "If we don't do this right, we could lose Lydia."
"She's going to die in there tonight," Scott said. "And she might take a lot of innocent people with her."
The next day, Scott, Sam, Stiles and Liam went to prepare for the break-in, while Kira and Malia were practicing at the school instead.
Melissa went to hand out some black body bags to Liam but then handed it to Scott instead. Liam's face dropped slightly.
"Just promise you're not coming back in one of these.", Scott's mom warned them.
"We're coming back with Lydia.", Scott assured.
Melissa nodded and relaxed her shoulders a bit. "Okay."
"We still don't know who's actually doing this." Liam said. "Who the Beast is."
"We'll find out.", Scott reassured.
Melissa grabbed more bags.
"Someone we know?" Liam asked.
"Might be, knowing this town.", Sam said, grabbing some bags from Scott's mom.
"You think he even knows he's doing it?", Liam questioned.
"How are you so sure it's a he?", Melissa asked and practically threw some more black bags at Liam with a glare.
Sam looked between Liam and Melissa before looking at Scott with a raised eyebrow.
He gave a weak smile and mouthed, "Theo." Sam rolled her eyes.
"You still mad at me?", Liam asked, nearly shrinking under the older woman's glare.
"No.", Melissa replied.  "But if you try to kill my son again, I'll put you in one of these myself.", she said, making Sam's eyes widen at the underclassman.
Liam took a step backward and Scott looked at his mom with slightly widened eyes. She turned around while Sam gave Scott another questioning, concerned look.
"She's still mad," Liam whispered, looking down.
The next day, the supernatural teens went to school and discussed the plans in the library.
"My Dad's got the lab working on the shoe prints," Stiles said. "But, uh, we're both kind of mystified about how giant clawed werewolf prints turned back into a pair of sneakers."
"Argent said it wouldn't be like anything we've seen before.", Scott said. "Did he say it was going to defy the laws of physics?" Stiles asked.
Sam chuckled. "You know, you can be really dramatic."
The trio stopped as they saw Theo standing by a bookshelf and pretending to look through a book.
Sam immediately felt defensive. "What the fuck is he doing here."
"I still need to graduate, Sammy.", Theo said.
"No. No.", Stiles disagreed. "What you need is to be beaten severely with a lead pipe wrapped in barbed wire…"
Theo cut him off. "Okay, I admit that mistakes were made."
"Murders.", Stiles corrected. "Murders were made."
"Not only that, you drugged me and kidnapped me.", Sam added.
"Technically, Tracy did it.", Theo said before flipping a page in the book he held. "You know how the Soviets helped us win World War II?"
He looked back up at Stiles. Stiles rolled his eyes, not responding. "They knew how to make it through a Russian winter." He looked at Scott expectantly.
"That it?", Stiles asked. "Okay. Thank you, Theo. Very informative."
Stiles pushed his two friends away from Theo but stopped as Theo continued. "If you're planning to break Lydia out of Eichen House, you still need to get past the Mountain Ash."
Stiles crossed his arms. "We can make it through. You can't."
"What do you really want?", Scott asked.
"I know you saw the fresco," Theo replied. The trio looked confused. "Two seriously pissed off creatures, the Hellhound, and the Beast, fighting over a pile of dead bodies. I don't want to be one of the bodies, it's that simple. I can get you to Lydia."
Sam let out a laugh. "Please. You want us to trust you?"
Theo shrugged. "Or we can see who gets her first." He placed the book back onto the shelf and walked away.
Sam shook her head. "I hate him."
"There's no way he knows what Valack's doing.", Stiles said. "Why's he so interested in her?"
"He probably thinks what we're all thinking," Scott said. "That Lydia's got something bigger to do with this. That, maybe, she's the only one who can actually save us."
"How far can we get without the brownout?", Liam asked. Kira practiced, but she blew up the whole grid.
The teens went to Scott's house, figuring out how to get Lydia first. "The front door." Stiles said sarcastically after watching Kira fail multiple times.
"We're going.", Scott replied.
"Scott, we went through boxes of light bulbs," Kira said.
Scott turned to Kira, "It doesn't matter. You can do this."
"Their key card won't work unless there's a reboot.", she said. "And there's no reboot without a brownout."
Scott moved closer to her. "I know you can do this." Scott turned around to look at his friends. "Anyone here thinks she can't?"
Everyone looked at each other.
"Not me," Liam answered.
"I was the one who put you in the plan." Stiles reminded him.
Then Stiles looked at Sam and Malia.
"I believe in you.", Sam said, shrugging, and looked at Malia.
"What?", she asked.
"I believe in you too, Kira.", Stiles whispered.
"I'm the one who's going to be locked in an electrical room with her.", Malia said, with furrowed eyebrows. She turned to Kira. "You can do it."
She glared back at Stiles as Scott nodded in approval.
Kira shook her head and looked back at Scott, "You guys are all crazy. We're gonna die."
The teens were placed in body bags, settled in the back of Parrish's cop car. The car suddenly stopped, causing the teens to set themselves straight.
They heard Parrish roll down his window then a few footsteps steps approaching the cop car.
"Delivery to the morgue," Parrish said.
"I don't see you on the list.", someone said.
"You heard about the animal attacks, right?", Parrish asked.
"The hospital ran out of refrigerated drawers and Eichen's got the only other up-to-code morgue in the county.", Parrish said.
"Let's have a look.", the man replied.
"I don't think you want to do that," Parrish warned. "The stench back there almost made me pass out while driving."
"Open the back of the van, please.", the man replied, annoyed.
Parrish sighed and opened his car door and then slammed it shut. The teens froze as the back door opened. A light shone over their bags.
"I'll need to log the names off the toe tags." The man said. "There's significant decomp.", Parrish replied. "They were found in the county tunnels past rigor."
"Open them up, please."
Parrish went on and unzipped the only bag that had an actual dead body inside.
Scott and Liam tried their best not to gag.
The man gagged and Parrish started unzipping Sam's bag really slowly. "No, no.", the man said. "Go, just go."
Appreciatively, the back doors slammed shut.
Parrish entered the car and drove on. After a couple of minutes, the back door opened, and each teen was taken and laid on top of tables.
Once they were left alone, they hurriedly poke their fingers through the zipper and unzipped the bag.
Sam and Liam gasped for air as Stiles glared at Scott. "Never again.", he said, and Sam nodded in agreement.
Scott sighed and nodded in agreement. He looked down at his phone. "Fifteen minutes," Scott said. "Starting now."
Stiles rushed to get out of his bag and fell. "Ow."
The three werewolves just shook their heads and got out of their bags.
Scott and Sam ran to the door and pressed their ears against it. They heard footsteps getting nearby, but then slowly faded away.
They stepped away as Scott opened the door and rushed out of the room with them.
They crept down some hallways and all jumped back as they saw some of the staff waiting by the door at the end of the other hall.
"What the hell are they doing here?", Sam whispered.
"I don't know," Stiles replied. "Their rounds should've ended five minutes ago." He leaned a bit forward to see what was going on.
"I can take them," Liam said, bravely.
"We're not doing shit unless we have to.", Sam shot down. She shrugged. "Well… I could knock them out."
"No. No one is taking anyone.", Scott scolded.
"How much time?", Stiles whispered.
Scott took out his phone. He sighed. "Three minutes."
"I'll just knock them out and hide their bodies," Liam said, making Sam look at him with wide eyes. Stiles looked at him and shook his head. "Oh, my God, please stop."
They jumped at the sound of a loud thud and saw a patient appeared in his room. His door was transparent as he glared at the teen in front of him and pressed himself against the glass.
"Did you take the doctor?", the patient asked. He looked their age or at least younger than them. Liam frowned. "What?", he whispered.
"Did you take the doctor?", the patient asked again.
Scott glanced over at the staff and leaned back.
"I haven't had my medication. I need ten milligrams at 8 am, 15 milligrams at 1 pm, and no more than 20 at dinner.", the patient said.
"We'll get the doctor," Scott whispered.
"Dr. Fenris.", the patient replied. "Dr. Fenris." Then he started sobbing. "They took Dr. Fenris." He slammed his hand against the glass window, making the teens jump.
The patient continued slamming both of his hands repeatedly. "I haven't had my medication. I need to see the doctor. They took Dr. Fenris." He slammed his hands once more.
"Hey, somebody shut him up," Stiles said, annoyed.
"I need to see the doctor."
"Shut him up," Stiles said, looking at Scott.
They watched as Scott's eyes turned red. He let out a low growl at the patient.
The guy's eyes widened, and he took a few steps back. The staff opened a side door and left, making the teens let out a simultaneous sigh.
Stiles motioned them to follow him. They ran down to the small door at the end of the hallway. Suddenly, the emergency lights turned on.
"She did it.", Liam said, astonished. "Kira did it."
"Five minutes to get to Lydia," Scott said. They made it to the door and Stiles grabbed the handle but paused in shock.
The card reader wasn't there.
"Where's the card reader?", Stiles asked. They looked around the door. "It should be here. It has to be here."
"They must have taken it out when the Dread Doctors got through," Scott said, frustrated.
"We came here for nothing?", Sam asked.
Liam shook his head, "We don't need a key." He looked at Sam and Scott. "Not if we can break it down."
The three werewolves started pushing on the door.
"There's no way this thing is this strong. Why can't we just ram it?", Sam asked.
"Guys, we're running out of time," Stiles said. The werewolves stopped, realizing the sudden weakness.
"We can't.", Scott told him. "The Mountain Ash. It's too much."
"Hit me.", Liam whispered to Scott.
"What?", Scott asked, confused. Liam turned around to him.
"Hit me." He repeated. "I'll get angry then I'll get stronger."
Scott looked at Sam and Stiles confused. Stiles encouraged him. "Hit him." Scott looked at him with concerned eyes. "Hit him!"
"I tried to take your powers." Liam told Scott. "I tried to kill you. Hit me!"
Stiles instigated. "He also left you for dead."
"I wanted you dead!", Liam said angrily then Scott threw him a punch straight into his face.
Liam groaned in pain. "Do it again.", he said, looking at Scott. Scott punched him once more. Liam yelled in pain.
"It's gotta be harder than that.", Stiles said.
"Do it!", Liam yelled. "Do it!"
"Yeah!", Stiles encouraged, then Scott threw another punch, growling. Liam yelled in pain and huffed. Both boys were angry now.
"You angry?", Scott asked. Liam looked back at him, his eyes glowing with golden anger.
"Let's do this.", Sam said and then they pushed at the door once more, finally clattering off of its hinges.
Stiles went ahead and Scott shook his head, "Only two minutes."
"We're never going to get through," Scott said. "We have to. If something happens to Stiles, we won't be able to get to Lydia.", Sam said and started pushing against the invisible barrier.
"There's Mountain Ash in half of the building, Sam." Scott said, groaning. "The key card doesn't work anymore,"
"Scott, are you or are you not the true alpha?", Sam pressed, looking at him with hardened eyes. Scott frowned and walked next to her, pushing against the barrier.
The older werewolves let out a groan as they shoved against the barricade that flashed a blue light.
"You've gotten through it before, though, right?", Liam asked.
Scott huffed, wrapping an arm around his side. "Ah, it was a life-or-death situation," Scott said.
"Scott, this is a life-or-death situation. Literally.", Sam said, continuing to push against the barrier.
"Stiles and Lydia had five minutes to get in and out.", Liam whispered. "It's been almost ten. The reboot's over."
"And then there are the four security guards," Liam said, looking behind them.
"What guards?", Scott asked, gaining Sam's attention. Scott turned around and they saw four guards coming their way.
The guards looked furious, and each held an electrical baton.
Shit.
Just before a guard could swing on them, Sam knocked one of them to the side by their shadow, groaning and panting softly in sudden fatigue.
The mountain ash was stronger than she thought.
Another guard slammed his baton into her, and it electrocuted her. Sam fell to the ground as well as Scott and Liam, while the guards managed to hold them down on the ground and electrocuted them.
The supernatural teens let out yells of pain as the guards pressed their batons into them further. Scott's eyes brightened in red as he looked at Sam and Liam. Their eyes brightened as well as they got up and fought the guards off.
The three werewolves huffed, and Scott looked at his betas. “Let’s go get Lydia.”

Thinking of the episode where Deaton is abducted by the Darach and the appearance of the moths. Moths symbolize many things in different cultures, including transformation, rebirth, regeneration, omens, the underworld.
Why has nobody talked about the fear Deaton must've felt when he knew he was next? He saw the moths and his experience and knowledge told him that he was being targeted so he called Scott reluctantly because he doesn't want to drag him into this kind of thing. But Scott comes to his rescue in that dark vault like he's saving him from the underworld.
Tumblr media
Here's something that the vast majority of people in the fandom miss consistently: Deaton is one of the most powerful characters in the show.
And the reason they miss it? Deaton is one of the most benevolent characters in the show.
The interplay between benevolence and power is often overlooked, which is extraordinarily weird because it's a dynamic that is central to the stories being told. I've talked often about Teen Wolf's recurring theme that the pain a character endures does not give them the right to inflict pain on others. We see this especially in the stories of Peter, Derek, Gerard, Matt, Deucalion, Jennifer, Meredith, and Monroe. We also see its antithesis in Scott's evolution into a True Alpha. But many people miss the same theme embodied in Alan Deaton's behavior.
Most likely they miss this because Deaton's power and benevolence are expressed in terms of boundaries. There are things that Deaton will not do (as opposed to cannot do) and there are things that he will not allow others to do.
Deaton's power isn't flashy, but it is undeniable. His preternatural calm in the face of danger, his courage, his undeniable intelligence and the breadth and depth of his knowledge, all reveal that he could be a formidable force of destruction if he allowed himself to be, but it is also coupled with a respect for others, even others he does not like. I think it's necessary to site some instances to remind people.
He was kidnapped and beaten by Derek Hale in Season 1. While the narrative's intention to create suspicion about him being the alpha might have obscured what he actually did, his response to this was not to get Derek in trouble. He could have easily have influenced the Sheriff, his friend, that Derek Hale, a person once arrested on suspicion for killing his sister, had attacked him. Unlike Laura's murder, Derek did do this. While fandom natters on about Deaton not helping Derek, he absolutely did help Derek by covering for him.
He also helps Derek in Season 2, even without Derek making the slightest gesture of apology for his actions in Season 1 (a Derek specialty). He provides Derek with the ketamine (a completely illegal act that could have cost him his license) and cares for Derek after Peter uses him and leaves him unconscious in the burned-out Hale House. In their rage over his criticism of Derek's behavior, fandom misses that Deaton, especially after Derek assaulted and slashed up his protégé, could have chosen to give Derek and his pack over to the Argents. He could have advised Scott to stay out of it, instead of giving Scott the information about the Argent Bestiary that helped solve the mystery of the kanima. But he didn't because he avoids the resentment that other people indulge in and acts for the good of others.
I could do this for every season, because in each one Deaton constantly assists others through actions that vary from infiltrating Yakuza families to enduring Dr. Valack's stare to visiting secret Russian biowarfare labs. But the way he helps the most is about offering advice and guidance, which, according to Peter Hale, is "what they do." And like most good advice, it remains only that. There is no manipulation, because Deaton derives absolutely no benefit from anything he suggests. And it is always done with an awareness of the autonomy and value of other people, even when acting in an emergency, such as when he takes the time to ask Lydia to help him with a de-aged Derek: "Lydia, I'm going to try something. I want you to keep holding his hand if that's okay."
The important thing to remember is that he was under no obligation to act this way. There is no evidence of an exterior force enforcing behavior; the only thing governing his actions, as Jennifer demonstrated, was his own will. Imagine what he could have accomplished if the person who turned to Kali and said "Not here, you won't" or snuck up on and poisoned a nogitsune had chosen differently.
That's why the thing that always struck me in the scene you talk about above is his reluctance to involve Scott. He knows that the Darach is sacrificing people. He knows that he fits the sacrificial profile. He's being attacked in his place of power, but he realizes the Darach is significantly stronger than him (which is obviously due to his own choices). His only hope for survival is turning to the young man whom he's been mentoring for great things, but he prefaces his request for aid with how much he regrets it.
Too often, narratives signify power in what a character can do. Teen Wolf had a character who signified the power he possessed in what a character chose not to do. It's not just Deaton choosing not to be a villain, but he also chose not to be the power behind the throne. He could have given Scott his marching orders; I'm sure Scott would have many times wanted an adult to tell him what he needed to do, especially if he trusted him like Scott trusted Deaton for good reason. Unfortunately, in the present cultural environment, it's easy to miss.

It had been a little over a week since your conversation with Melissa, taking you by surprise. Having kids wasn’t something that you thought much about, life in Beacon Hills was so hectic, you and Derek only had a little time with just the two of you, and having a kid was not only unexpected but also very time-consuming. Your head was spinning, you didn't know what to do. You knew you had to tell Derek eventually, you could only hide something like this for so long before something bad happened.
The two of you were laying in bed, with Derek wrapping his arms around your stomach while you had your back towards him.
He didn't know you were awake and you didn't know he was either.
The Deadpool was over, but that didn't mean Lydia’s prediction was wrong, and it didn't mean Derek wasn't still dying.
You turned to face him, seeing his eyes open as you frowned slightly.
“Why are you awake?” you asked him.
“Why are you awake?” he replied.
You stroked his cheek softly before he pressed a small kiss to your hand.
“What’s on your mind?” he asked.
“A lot,” you shrugged.
“Well, I can’t sleep until you do,” he replied.
You had to find a way to figure out how he felt about kids, but without being obvious, not knowing how he’d react.
Maybe later
“Derek, it's been a week since the Deadpool ended,” you started, while he nodded softly.
“Do you think that everything is supposed to be back to normal?”
“What's your definition of normal?” he replied.
“Do you think that you’re safe now? Because the Deadpool is over?”
“It’s been a week of nothing. Why are you still stressed out?”
“Because you can still be dying and now we’re just laying here doing nothing to try and help you!” you exclaimed, slightly frustrated.
“Besides losing my powers, I feel fine, (Y/N),” he tried to assure you.
“You still lost your powers, Derek. That doesn't just happen,” you said.
“I don't want to get into this argument with you again,” he said.
“We put it off for a week. Lydia predicted that you're going to die,” you said.
“(Y/N),” he started.
“No, don’t (Y/N) me. Banshees aren't ever wrong,” you shook your head.
“There’s a first for everything,” he scoffed.
You rolled your eyes, before jumping, hearing the alarms going off as you shot up.
You saw Derek reach for his gun, while you slowly got out of bed.
“Stay behind me,” you whispered.
“I’m the one with the gun,” he argued.
“And I’m the one with the functioning powers!” your eyes glew purple as you took slow steps forward, walking to the door.
You could hear the sound of Derek’s heartbeat, along with another’s coming from the other side of the door.
You pulled open the door, tensing up before seeing Lydia on the other side, soaking wet, while she gave you a blank expression.
“Lydia?”
---
“I just think that you should wait for me, Chris,” you whispered into the phone, making sure Derek wasn't around to hear.
“I’m going now, (Y/N). I don’t want to kill Kate or Peter. But I know you do,” you rolled your eyes, sighing softly.
“Chris-”
“I will keep you updated on what happens. But for now, focus on Derek. Have you heard from Deaton yet?” you went quiet for a second, before sighing.
“No, not yet. Last I heard he was talking to Doctor Valack at Eichen. I’m going to the school in a bit to get Lydia, and then we’re gonna go to Eichen,” you replied.
“Okay. Stay safe, kiddo,” Chris said.
“Yeah, you too,” you hung up the call, running your fingers through your hair.
You felt guilty about lying to Derek, it made you feel sick. Of course, that was probably the pregnancy, which was yet another thing you were hiding from him.
It was obvious that you hated Peter, but maybe there was some more reason as to why he was working with Kate.
You walked out of the room, receiving texts from both Cora and Isaac.
You rolled your eyes, putting your phone away before overhearing Scott talking to Derek.
“I know about Lydia’s visit here last night,” you stayed quiet, listening to the conversation.
“Go to school, Scott,” Derek replied.
“I just want you to know. If anyone can figure out what's going on with you, it’s Deaton.”
Crap
You didn't tell Derek about Deaton going to find Dr. Valack, and trying to figure out what was wrong with Derek.
“I don’t doubt it. I’ll see you later on,” you heard the loft door close as you walked down the stairs. while Derek sighed, crossing his arms.
“You’re endangering someone else’s life to try and save mine,” you could feel your chest tightening as you looked down.
He scoffed, shaking his head.
“Please, stop,” he asked softly.
You felt tears well up in your eyes.
“No matter what you say, I’m not okay with you dying, and I’m not going to be okay with it,” you replied.
He stroked your cheek softly, pulling you in.
“I need to go get Lydia, I’ll see you later on,” you said softly.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead, before pulling your hand softly.
“I love you, (Y/N),” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
“I love you too,” you wiped away your tears, before kissing him and leaving the loft.
---
“I’m assuming you didn't tell Derek about Deaton?” Scott stood across from you in the hallway of Beacon Hills.
“Nope,” you shook your head.
“Oh, I’m sorry about that,” he apologized.
“Don’t worry about it, he had to know sooner or later,” you shrugged.
“Yeah, is Lydia ready to leave yet?” you looked at the clock, shrugging.
“Oh my god,” you saw Mason rushing to you and Scott, while you frowned.
“Uh, there’s something wrong with Liam,” he started, while you tensed up.
“What happened?” you asked.
“I don't know, but he’s trying to lift 300,” he explained.
You ran to the room, Scott and Mason close behind you while you could hear Liam yelling out in pain.
You pushed the door open, your eyes going wide to see the bar pressing down on his chest.
“Vitae,” your eyes glew purple as you used your powers,  lifting the weight off of Liam and placing it back onto the stand.
Liam pushed himself off the bench, falling to the side, coughing loudly as Scott ran to him.
“You don't have to be with us, that's fine. But don’t push away your friends,” you saw Liam’s gaze go past you, staring at the wall as you frowned, before realizing.
“Liam, are you hallucinating the berserkers?” you asked softly.
You could see a pained expression on his face before it changed to anger.
“No, I'm fine!” he stood up, walking away from you and Scott.
“How could you tell?” Scott frowned.
“I don’t know. He just looked scared,” you replied.
Scott went quiet, raising an eyebrow for a second, confused.
“What? What is it?” you asked.
“Sorry, I thought I heard something for a second,” he shook his head.
“Something like what?”
“Like a heartbeat. It doesn't matter. I’ll see you later on,” you hid the expression from your face till he walked away, letting out a breath of relief.
“Are you okay?” Lydia walked to you.
“Yup, now let’s go,” you grabbed her arm, taking her with you as the two of you left the school.
---
“So they think he’s paralyzed?” you asked, while you and Lydia stood around Deaton.
“Yeah, and if he doesn't snap out of it, they’ll admit him,” she replied.
You ran your fingers through your hair, before sighing.
“Well, let me see what I can,” she nodded while you put your hands on either side of Deaton's forehead.
You clenched your jaw, taking deep breaths as your head began pounding.
“Cogitationes revelare.”
You could barely make out the flashes, the one thing you could see was a church.
It was La Iglesia
You backed away from Deaton, taking deep breaths.
“What was it?” Lydia asked.
“Something to do with La Iglesia,” you sighed.
“The church?”
You nodded softly, before wrapping your arms around your stomach, taking deep breaths.
“Are you okay?” Lydia asked.
You nodded your head softly, before sighing.
“Don’t worry about it,” you said.
You heard your phone begin to ring, while you frowned, receiving a call from Parrish.
“Parrish?” you answered.
You had trouble making out his words, most of it was distorted.
“I can't hear you,” you frowned.
“Argent!” he yelled.
You immediately felt yourself stiffen.
“What about him?” you asked.
“...Peter…. Tunnels… Vault…” his voice kept getting cut off as you felt a sense of fear wash over you.
“I-I’m on my way,” you hung up the phone, before telling Lydia to stay with Deaton as you ran out of the room.
---
You traced Parrish’s phone, running into some old stormwater drainage system. There was water dripping from all around the place as you froze, seeing Parrish standing with Chris in the distance.
Your heart stopped, seeing something buried deep into Chris’ stomach, with Parrish trying to help him.
“Oh my god,” you ran to him, putting your hand on the bent pole that ran through him, and through the wall.
You saw the blood dripping from his mouth, his face, and body in pain while you saw tears visible in his eyes.
“Go… C-Call an ambulance,” you said to Parrish.
“Maybe I shouldn't leave-”
“Go!” your eyes were purple as he paused, nodding his head before running away.
“C-Chris, can you hear me?” your voice wavered as you stroked his cheek.
“Yeah, I can,” he replied.
“You should've waited for me!” you exclaimed.
He didn't reply, instead, you heard his shaky breath.
You put your hand on the pole, taking a deep breath as you tried to control your tears, feeling your heart racing.
“Traho,” you pulled on the pole, using all your strength and magic as you clenched your jaw, hearing Chris yelling out.
It didn't even budge.
“I-I’ll try again,” you took another deep breath, pulling on the pole.
“Stop! (Y/N)! Please, stop,” he begged.
“No, we have to save you,” you shook your head.
“How are we gonna do that? You can’t move this pole either,” he sighed.
“Then we’ll keep trying until we get it,” there were hot tears in your eyes as you looked up at him.
He sighed, reaching for your hand softly.
“(Y/N), maybe this is supposed to be a sign,” he said softly.
You froze before frowning.
“I don’t understand what you mean,” you scoffed.
“The Argent name has been around for four hundred years. Maybe it's time it came to an end,” more and more tears came to your eyes, while there was an expression of anger on your face.
“Y-You think you’re just gonna give up? T-That this is the end? A-Are you insane? Are you stupid? This isn't the end. Parrish is calling for help. You’re gonna be okay. I-I’ll call S-Scott,” you were shaking, looking down at your hands which were covered in his blood, while you gasped softly, closing your eyes.
You gripped onto the pole again, before he stopped you.
“(Y/N). Enough,” he shook his head.
“No! I need you, Chris. You’re not giving up. Not now,” maybe it sounded selfish, but there was no one else in the world that meant more to you and Chris, not even Derek.
Chris had always been there for you and always cared for you. He was your father.
“Then maybe it’s time for you to move on,” he said softly.
“No. You need to stay alive. You need to fight this,” your voice broke as you continued to pull on the pole, hearing him yell out in pain.
“Chris, you need to fight this. You’re the last Argent. You always told me that I needed to fight because I was the last of my bloodline, so why not you? Fight to stay alive. For Allison. For Victoria. P-Please, Chris,” he went quiet, more and more tears in his eyes as he stroked your cheek softly.
“It doesn't matter if I choose to give up or not. I’m stuck like this,” he shook his head.
You took a deep breath, shaking your head.
“I have an idea,” you said softly.
“What idea?” you saw the concern in his face as you took a deep breath.
If you could heal like a werewolf, then there was no reason why you shouldn't have the strength of one too.
You can do this, for Chris
Your eyes glew a light blue, while you slowly gripped onto the pole once again. You focused all your power and energy on the pole.
“(Y/N)?”
You took a deep breath, while you continued pulling onto it as hard as you could.
You could hear Chris’ yells while you tried your hardest to focus, letting out a grunt as you continued pulling.
The pole shifted, you could feel it coming out slowly, before you pulled as hard as you could, pulling it out of Chris as he gasped, falling to the floor while you immediately caught him, your eyes reverting to their normal color.
“Consuo,” you held him up, while he leaned onto you.
“H-How did you do that?” he asked.
“Shh, we have to get you out of here. Come on.”
You continued to hold him up, while the two of you rushed out of the sewer.
---
“You should really go home and change, (Y/N),” Melissa sat next to you, while you shook your head.
“I’m not leaving him,” you said.
“He’s safe,” she replied.
You sat next to Chris’ bed at the hospital, your clothes and body completely soaked in his blood.
“I’m not moving until he wakes up,” your voice wavered before she sighed.
“Fine. How do you feel?” she asked.
“I feel fine,” you muttered softly.
“(Y/N),” she pulled you in softly, wrapping her arm around you.
Your eyes watered as you continued to stay stiff, trying to block out anything and everything.
You saw Argent stir slightly, while you tensed, standing up.
“Chris?” you asked softly.
You walked to his side, stroking his cheek softly.
“How do you feel?” you asked.
“Like I was run through with a pole,” you scoffed slightly, reaching for his hand.
“Are you going to tell me how the hell you did that?” you could immediately see the worry in his face.
You knew you would have to tell him.
“Uhm, I figured if I could heal, then maybe I could use werewolf strength too,” you muttered.
“What? Are you turning into a werewolf?” he tensed, sitting up slightly before he winced.
You shook your head no, taking a deep breath.
Just say it, (Y/N). It's Chris
“I’m pregnant,” you said quickly.
You couldn't read the expression on his face, as you clenched your jaw.
“I gave Allison the safe sex lesson, I didn't think I needed to tell you too,” you sighed, rolling your eyes.
“Chris-”
“Who else knows?” he asked.
“You, Melissa, Cora, and Isaac,” you replied.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
You nodded slightly, letting out a shaky exhale.
“I’m happy for you,” he gave you a small smile as you shook your head.
“I don’t know what to do,” you ran your fingers through your hair.
“I think you need to start off by telling your boyfriend,” you nodded softly.
“I still don't know how to say it. And we got into this argument today, a-and he’s dying,” you stopped yourself, your eyes watering slightly.
“Hey, it’s gonna be okay, (Y/N). No matter what argument you get into, you still love each other and you’re both strong enough and smart enough to figure this out.
You sniffled softly, nodding your head before you heard someone knock at the door, frowning slightly.
Derek walked into the room, while you tensed slightly.
“Melissa called me,” he said.
He walked to you, wrapping his arms around you. He turned to look at Chris.
“Are you okay?” he asked Chris, while he nodded.
“Are you okay?” he turned to you before you nodded as well.
“Let’s go home,” he said softly.
“I think I should stay with Chris-”
“Go home, (Y/N),” Chris interrupted.
“But-”
“Go,” he said again.
You nodded softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead before making your way out of the hospital, wrapping your arm around Derek.
---
You continued to hold his hand while he parked his car, turning to face you.
“You’ve been really quiet the ride back,” he said.
You shook your head, sighing.
“I’m just tired,” you said softly.
“Well, maybe it’s time for us to take some rest. I was thinking a movie, maybe I’ll make you some dinner,” he raised an eyebrow.
“A date night?” you asked.
“Why not?” he replied.
You chuckled softly, nodding your head.
“It’s been a while,” you said softly.
“Which is exactly why we need one,” he said.
You nodded softly as he smiled.
“Well,” he got out of the car, making his way around to open the door for you, reaching for your hand.
“Let’s go then?”
You held his hand, pressing your lips against his.
“I love you, Derek,” you said softly.
“I love you too,” he led you inside the building, while you wrapped your arm around his waist, using the elevator.
As you exited the elevator, you could immediately smell something. It was blood. Your face dropped, while you pulled open the loft door.
“Oh my god,” you could see some blood spilled on the ground, lights flashing as the alarms went off. Everything was broken, as well as the windows.
Scott and Kira were gone.

Lydia Martin; Muse Info
Tumblr media
Full Name; Lydia Martin Nickname; Lyds Face Claim; Holland Roden Gender; Female Pronouns; She/Her Marital Status; Single Sexuality; Bisexual/Polyamorous Age; 18/21 Date Of Birth;  March 19, 1994 Occupation; Student Residence; Beacon Hills Species; Banshee Family;  Natalie Martin Verses; None Biography; Lydia Martin is a main character and the current female lead of Teen Wolf. She is the daughter of Natalie Martin and Mr. Martin, and the granddaughter of Lorraine Martin and her wife Maddy. She is also the best friend of Stiles Stilinski, Scott McCall and Malia Tate. When first introduced, Lydia could be as described as a shallow, vain, mean girl who played dumb to hide just how smart she truly was; however, after she became friends with Allison Argent, Scott McCall, and Stiles Stilinski, Lydia began to shed this persona and has since grown into a brave, compassionate person who genuinely enjoys helping others who are struggling, particularly those who have been traumatized by the supernatural like herself. At the end of Season One, Lydia was attacked and bitten by then-Alpha Werewolf Peter Hale, but in a shocking turn of events, she neither died nor turned into a Werewolf herself, a feat that was virtually unheard of in the supernatural community. However, she began to hear voices, go into fugue states similar to sleepwalking, and have terrifying hallucinations about Peter, revealing that, unbeknownst to her at the time, Peter's attack had activated the latent Banshee abilities that she had inherited from her paternal grandmother. It was eventually revealed that his attack against her also allowed his spirit to live on in her mind, affording him a connection with Lydia that he could use to manipulate her into resurrecting him with a special ritual on the Worm Moon. Even after he had vacated her consciousness, Lydia began to be drawn to dead bodies in Beacon Hills, particularly those whose deaths were related to the supernatural, and began unconsciously screaming, which steadily began to worry her. It was eventually revealed to her by Jennifer Blake that Lydia was, in fact, a Banshee, also known as the Wailing Woman, a harbinger of death who was drawn to the dead and the supernatural. Since this revelation, Lydia has struggled to learn the full scope of her powers and how to use them, often lamenting the fact that her powers were passive, spontaneous, and largely out of her control, unlike the comparatively easier-to-use powers of shapeshifters such as her Werewolf and Werecoyote friends that could be used both actively and defensively. Despite her frustrations, Lydia's ability to sense imminent death has given the pack numerous advantages in battles, though very few people give her credit for just how powerful she is. When the Deadpool started in Beacon Hills in January 2012, Lydia was the second-highest valued target at $20 million, both as a result of her powerful ability to foretell death and the equally powerful and unique pack who was sure to fight to protect her. Recently, due to injuries sustained when Theo Raeken entered her mind to sense her memories, Lydia became temporarily catatonic, causing her to be admitted into the supernatural ward of Eichen House. While there, Dr. Gabriel Valack performed trephination on her, which amplified her abilities to the point that she briefly possessed extrasensory perception. It was confirmed by Alan Deaton in Amplification that Lydia is an exceptionally powerful Banshee, even though Lydia still does not yet know the full extent of her powers, which is likely at least part of why Valack was so determined to use her to figure out the identity of the Beast of Gevaudan. As of Lie Ability, Lydia was rescued from Eichen House and returned to her loved ones, with Alan Deaton using mistletoe paste to reverse the effects of Valack's trephination and causing her to lose her extrasensory perception. However, thanks to Meredith Walker, a fellow Banshee and a friend an ally of Lydia and the McCall Pack, Lydia has since learned how to use her voice as an offensive weapon, allowing her to channel the power of her voice through her hands to create concussive blasts that can forcefully throw a grown person backward away from her. This combined with her newly learned close-quarters combat skills, taught to her by Jordan Parrish, has given her the ability to better defend herself from threats even if the pack is not around to assist her. In Season 6, Lydia's powers have continued to grow, which included Lydia experiencing an astral premonition of a past event in 1987 where she was able to physically interact with another Banshee, Lenore, and she demonstrated the ability to use her scream to kill a Ghost Rider and the phantom version of Claudia Stilinski that they conjured. As of the end of the first half of the final season, Lydia has graduated from Beacon Hills High School and has been accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she will be starting college as a junior. Lydia is a member of the Martin Family and the McCall Pack.

To say that I was sleep deprived was an understatement. After getting home from Eichen last night, sleep never came to me. Not sure if it came for Stiles, but definitely not for me. We ended up going to our own rooms when we got home. I wasn't up for it, but wasn't gonna argue with him about it.
As I was tying my Converse laces, I heard a timid knock on my door. I got up from my bed and walked over to my door, opening it.
“Sorry,” he said, looking down.
“It's okay. Space is good sometimes,” I said, also looking down. “Why does this feel like a breakup?” I whispered.
Stiles lifted his head at the same time I did, my eyes filling with tears. I didn't want them to spill over because of fresh mascara and all.
“It's not,” he said, taking a couple of steps into my room, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. “It's not. My mind is everywhere still. Ya'know, with Donovan and now the Dread Doctors.”
“I know,” I said, sniffling. I stepped out of his arms, turning to my vanity mirror. I sighed in relief when none of my mascara ran.
I heard chuckling behind me, so I turned to look at Stiles. “What's so funny?” “You're such a girl.”
“Hey. I just put a fresh coat on about two minutes before you knocked on that door, okay, buddy? I didn't want it to already get ruined.”
He smirked and tilted his head down, looking at his shoes once again.
I walked over to him, lifting his head up. “Hey. It's gonna be alright. Everything's gonna be alright.” I smiled a little and started singing that part in the song Three Little Birds by Bob Marley & The Wailers. “Every little thing is gonna be alright.”
He chuckled again, tilting his head back down, so I lifted it back up. “Don't doubt that, alright?”
He nodded his head, casting his eyes down.
“Alright. Come here,” I said softly. I shifted my hand from his chin to his cheek, cupping it. I brought his lips down to mine, giving him the sweetest kiss I could muster, feeling him give it right back.
We pulled apart, putting our foreheads against each other, eyes closed.
“I love you. So fucking much,” he whispered.
“I love you, too.”
~~~
We decided after our sweet moment at the house to go to the station. We wanted to try and help our dads with this case we've got going on. After we had gotten there, I needed to go get something from my dad's desk, so that's where I went for a few minutes.
Sheriff was putting an X on Tracy's picture when I walked back into his office and over to Stiles. “Chimeras,” Sheriff said.
“Two dead Chimeras,” Stiles answered.
“And eight new ones,” I added.
“So, that's 10 in all.”
“We're thinking maybe 11,” Dad said. He pinned a picture of Donovan on the cork-board. I reached over and laced my fingers with Stiles', letting him know that I was there for him. He looked down at me as his dad spoke.
“Our station tech guys confirmed something for us... they said both the holding cell lock and cameras could've malfunctioned because of something electromagnetic,” Dad said.
Sheriff reached over and picked up the book that Malia had dropped off before we got there. “You said that, uh, these guys--”
“Dread Doctors,” I said.
“Are we really calling them that?” Sheriff and Dad asked.
“Again with the tag teaming,” I sighed. “So they broke Donovan out then?”
“It's how they got into Eichen, isn't it?” Sheriff asked.
I looked from Donovan's picture to Stiles then back to the picture. I squeezed his hand then let go, walking towards my dad and Sheriff, lawyer voice on now. “Donovan's a Chimera,” I breathed.
“Yeah,” Sheriff said, putting the book back down.
“But... is he a failure like Lucas and Tracy?” Dad asked.
I felt Stiles walk away a few feet. I guess that part of my abilities was coming back. Looking at the picture of Donovan and knowing exactly what happened to him, I did the only thing that I could think of in order to protect my boyfriend. Lie. “If he is, he's probably dead.”
Dad grabbed the red marker Sheriff had previously used, getting ready to mark an X on Donovan's picture. I grabbed his wrist before he could. “Daddy, you're a Deputy. Shouldn’t you wait until you've seen a body to mark his picture?”
He smiled at me a little. “You're just like your mother.”
“Yes, she is,” Mom said, walking into the office.
I turned to look at Sheriff. “You should really start paying her, and us, for how much time we spend here.”
He chuckled and turned to face Stiles. “You're uncharacteristically quiet.”
Stiles turned around, facing us once again. I knew exactly what he was doing. Thinking about Donovan. “Yeah... Sorry, I'm, uh... I'm just trying to think about it. Uh...” He took a few steps towards the desk at the same time Mom did. “These are teenagers, right?”
“That's true,” Mom said. Lawyer game on.
“So, now shouldn't we be trying to figure out why these teenagers?”
I decided to back up his claim. “If the Dread Doctors, if they went through all that-- burying them, killing them, breaking one of them out of jail--”
“They couldn't have been chosen at random,” Sheriff said.
“They had to have something in common,” Dad added.
“Something that made them right for this experiment,” Mom said.
All five of us were on the right track.
“Something that made them special,” Stiles said.
~~~
Since we were at the station almost all day trying to help figure this case out, Stiles and I left to go to Scott's house, where we were having our very own book club. All of us gathered around the glass table in the center of the living room.
“My mom's book club usually has more wine,” Lydia said.
“You know they don't actually read books, right?” I sassed.
“You also know that Friday Night Lights is a TV Show, right?” Lydia sassed back.
We all shared a light chuckle.
“Back to Natalie's book club, they also probably didn't read books that cause violent hallucinations,” Stiles said. We looked at each other, reaching over and lacing our fingers together.
“That's why Malia's here,” Scott said.
“So none of us go running into traffic?” Kira asked.
“Or worse.”
“Like what happened to Judy,” Malia said. We all gave her a confused look. “Chapter 14.”
Lydia bent down and picked up the paper back cover of the book. “Maybe I should have my mother read it. She might remember a girl with a tail leaping off the ceiling and attacking everyone.”
“Yeah, if it works,” Stiles said.
“Wait, Tracy attacked your mom?” I asked.
“Yeah. You were at the hospital when it happened,” Lydia said.
I sighed. “Great. Last to know about that, as well,” I mumbled. Didn't go unnoticed by the Weres in the room. “Well, this has to work. It has to.”
“What does that mean?” Scott asked.
“I think I saw them during my surgery,” I said. I looked up at Stiles, seeing confusion and concern laced in his eyes. I looked back down at the book in Lydia's hands. “As I'm looking at the cover of the book... it's almost like...” “A memory trying to surface,” Theo said.
I looked at him, eyes narrowed a bit. “Yeah.”
“Isn't that what Valack wanted when he wrote it?” Kira asked.
Malia nodded as I responded, “If they did something to me, I wanna know what the hell it is.” I picked up one of the stacks and walked over to the couch, sitting down on it. I flipped the front and back page over as Stiles sat down in front of me on the floor. Reaching forward, I put my hand through his hair, gently scratching at the back of his head while I read the first few pages.
Page after page after page we all read. My eyes were getting tired, which was weird for me. Normally, I could read around 80 pages before Stiles would have to take my book away, and my eyes would not get tired. I was blinking every two seconds, what seemed like, trying to get my vision back to where I wanted it. It felt like the words were running together in my mind.
“Anyone feel anything yet?” Scott asked.
“Tired,” Kira said, drowsiness laced in her voice.
“Hungry,” Lydia said.
“I think he meant the book,” Theo said.
I sighed and placed my stack down on the side table. Leaning forward, I put my hands on Stiles' shoulders. “I'm gonna go make some coffee. I think we all need it,” I said. Chuckles were heard around the room as I stepped over Stiles' long gazelle legs.
After walking into the kitchen and successfully making a nice batch of coffee, I grabbed all the mugs that I could find for the seven of us. I heard someone sit down, so I looked up, seeing that it was Stiles.
I smirked while looking at the mug I was pouring coffee into. “Need some coffee?”
“I was hoping I'd get a kiss,” he said, softly.
I chuckled and put the pot down, walking over to him and placing my lips on his as softly as I could.
We pulled apart so that I could go get my own cup and his.
I turned back around, seeing him rubbing his shoulder. I saw Malia and Theo looking at us from the living room. Looking back at Stiles, I gave him a look that said act stupid.
“What did you do to your shoulder?” I asked.
He looked at me from his stare down with the counter. “What are you talking about?”
“You've been rubbing at your shoulder for days now. What happened?”
“Jeep died on me again. I went to check the engine, and the hood fell on it.”
“That's... weird. I've helped you with the hood before. Didn't know it could fall like that after gently being placed on the windshield.”
“Wind must've caught it. Come here,” he said, motioning for me to come over to him... so, I did. Naturally.
As I sat sideways on his lap, he put his hands on my waist and thighs, keeping me from falling off.
“How much do you remember anyway?” he asked. I knew he was asking about my surgery. “With your surgery. Was it like a movie playing in your head or were you in it?”
“In it,” I shrugged, looking down at my hands.
“Nothing else?”
I shook my head. “Nothing. Just saw them right before the anesthesia kicked in and knocked me out.”
I looked behind Stiles' head, seeing Theo turn his head away from his hearing position... ya'know, with his ear facing Stiles and I.
I looked back at Stiles as he lightly tapped my leg.
“You're gonna be okay. We're gonna be okay,” he said.
I leaned my head against his shoulder. “I hope so.”
I'm not sure how much time had passed since Stiles and I sat back down in our spots, but almost all of us were passed out from reading.
Lydia was passed out in the chair, Stiles and I on the couch, Scott leaned against the couch with a pillow against my legs, Kira had gone up to Scott's room to lay down on his bed, and Theo in the other chair... or at least I assumed he was.
~~~
When I woke up the next morning, Stiles and I had somewhat got into a different position... this one involved me laying on him with my legs between his. He had his arms wrapped around me, holding me to him. Scott wasn't leaning against the couch, and Lydia wasn't in the chair anymore... neither was Theo.
I popped my head up at hearing footsteps. Scott's. We locked eyes for a minute before I shifted mine to Kira behind him.
“I gotta take Kira home so she can get ready for school. Lock up when you guys leave,” Scott said.
I nodded. “See you at school.”
Him and Kira walked out as I looked down at Stiles. I smiled a little and pressed my lips against his.
It took him a second to respond, but he kissed me back. His noise of protest caused me to chuckle as I pulled away.
“Nooooooo. Come back,” he whined, voice laced with sleep. The most sexiest sound I think I'll ever hear.
“We gotta go home to get ready for school,” I said.
He sighed and finally opened his eyes. “Fine.”
We got up, walked out of the door, locked up, then finally to the Jeep. His hand was laced with mine the entire ride home.
After we got home and changed for the day, I sprayed myself with some body mist and walked out my room, Stiles doing the same not two seconds later. We walked out of the house and got back into the Jeep, him driving us to school.
We met Scott and Kira at the front of the school, walking through the doors.
“What if we need some kind of trigger?” Scott asked. “Wasn't Malia driving when she remembered the crash?”
“Yeah, but how are we supposed to trigger a memory that we don't remember?” Stiles asked, him and I looking at Scott.
“Maybe it's a delayed thing,” Scott said. “Maybe you have to wait a couple of hours to see what happens.”
The lights flickering above our heads caused us to look up and stop in our tracks, stopping after a couple of seconds. I looked over at Kira, which caused the boys to do the same.
She looked at all of us before stating, “That wasn't me. I swear.”
“We keep an eye on each other today, okay?” Scott said.
“Yes, and keep an eye out for eight other potentially homicidal Chimeras,” Stiles said. He reached over and grabbed my hand.
“And keep an eye out for the Dread Doctors,” Kira added.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand break,” I said.
Kira and Scott chuckled at me as they walked to class, leaving Stiles and I standing in the hall by ourselves.
“Starting to see the appeal of a third eye,” he said.
“Wanna say that louder for the people upstairs?” I sassed.
He gave me an unimpressed face that didn't last long. He leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to my lips, almost dragging me down the hall afterwards to walk me to class. We kissed once again before I walked in my AP Bio class.
Mrs. Finch got right to the assignment as the last bell rang. “Emma, good to have you back in class.”
I nodded once at her, not really liking that she put me on blast like that.
“So while introducing the African Cane Toad, sounded like a good way to deal with Australia's infestation of the grey-backed beetle, unfortunately, the toad also decided to eat everything else in sight.”
I looked at Lydia as she discreetly sent Theo a text. I didn't get a chance to read it. I was too focused on the assignment at hand.
“And everything that tried to eat the toad, from crocodiles to household pets, quickly died from the poison they secreted. A perfect example of an invasive species. One-hundred and two toads introduced in 1935 became 1.5 billion by 2010. Once an invasive species is introduced, everything changes.”
I watched as Sydney got up and placed a form on Mrs. Finch's desk.
“Wise decision, Sydney,” Mrs. Finch said.
Wow. What a bitch...
Lydia got up as Sydney walked out.
“Lydia, you know it's for the best,” Mrs. Finch said. Lydia walked out without saying a word.
I looked over at Scott and Kira as they looked at each other. Scott then looked over at me, giving me a questioning look. I shrugged, not knowing what was going on.
Something moving near the tree line caught my attention. I got up without saying a word, walked out of the classroom and down the hall. I didn't register Scott, Kira, nor Mrs. Finch calling my name. I walked out of the school and straight to the tree line. For some reason, I decided that following a pair of Alpha eyes was the way to spend my day.
The moment that I stepped into the tree line, the sun vanished and the moon was out. I was all alone, nothing but trees surrounding me. When I got out about halfway into the woods, I turned around, trying to find my way back home, but couldn't make out which way I had come and which way to go.
I was starting to get terrified. My breathing was getting heavier, my hands were starting to shake. Hearing leaves rustling and voices calling my name, I turned my head in that direction. When I turned back to face the way I previously was, I saw a pair of icy Blue eyes to my left, and to my right were those same Alpha Reds I had seen just a few years prior, along with the same coyote growling I had heard.
My breathing got so heavy, I did the only thing I wanted to do. Scream. So that's what I did. Not my Banshee scream, but my normal, terrified scream.
The feeling of being lifted from my feet caused me to scream even louder. I thrashed in the person's arms, not caring about who it was.
“Emma! It's me!” the voice said.
I hadn't realized that I was crying before I opened my eyes, seeing that the voice I knew so well belonged to the boy that was like my brother.
“You're okay,” Scott said, pulling my head to rest on his chest. “You're gonna be okay.”
I let out a sob, not caring if anyone else was around us.
I cried for about 30 seconds before I felt a hand on my knee. Opening my eyes, I saw that the person was Theo. Picking up my head to look at Scott, I sniffled, “I'm fine.”
“You saw something, didn't you?” Theo asked.
I shook my head, tears gathering in my eyes. “Not about the Dread Doctors. Nothing about them or the surgery.”
“What was it?” Scott asked as he and Theo helped me to stand.
“That second night in the woods. Freshman year,” I said. All I wanted in that moment was for Stiles to hold me like he did that night.
“Emma? Emma?” Like an answer to my prayers, Stiles' voice came through the woods.
“Stiles!” I said. Scott backed away, revealing us to each other.
Stiles visibly let out a relieved sigh, quickly making his way over to me. He scooped me into his arms, holding me tight against him. A few tears fell down my cheeks, neither of us caring. He let go, but only for a second, to pick me up, bridal style.
“We gotta get back to class,” Scott said. “Keep us posted.”
I felt Stiles nod and press his head against mine. “You alright? What happened?”
“I'm fine,” I said, holding onto him a little bit tighter.
“What is a vision? A memory?” he asked.
I sighed and nodded my head. “Like I said, I'll tell you later.” I started coughing, almost like I couldn't breathe. It lasted for about 30 seconds before I could breathe again. “Get me out of here. Out of the woods, school. Away from this area.”
“Alright, beautiful.”
~~~
Stiles ended up taking me home... so that I could get my keys. “I'm driving.”
He didn't say anything, just followed me out to my own Jeep. I drove straight to the hospital.
“Baby, why are we here?” Stiles asked.
“I want more answers,” I said as we got out.
“Okay, then why are we here if you've already had your suppressed memory?”
I walked over to him, lacing my fingers with his. “According to Lydia, it wasn't the right memory. I remembered my second night in the woods, the night you practically saved me. There was nothing to do with the surgery, nothing to do with the Dread Doctors. So, if I've read the book, why don't I have the full memory of my experience with them?”
“I'm not supposed to know that, am I?” he asked, a hint of sarcasm laced in his tone.
“Babe, not the time to use sarcasm,” I said, stopping my steps. “No, something... happened during the surgery, but now Lydia thinks it has more to do with me being a were-banshee.”
Stiles almost looked like he wasn't following.
“It's not my memory, babe. It's someone else's.”
~~~
Stiles and I walked into the room where I had my surgery. Noticing the lights were off, I looked at him, asking, “Can you turn the lights on, babe?”
“Uh,” he mumbled, turning around. Seeing the light switches behind me, he walked over and flipped the switch.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand nothing. Great.
“Uh, not going on,” he said.
“Yes, I'm aware. Thank you,” I sassed. He gave me an unamused look, to which I sighed at. “Ask someone, babe.”
“Okay, I thought this was more of an auditory thing.”
“I still wanna see what I'm hearing.” I started to walk around slowly at this point, looking around.
“Make sense,” he said, before walking out.
~~~
THIRD PERSON POV
After leaving Emma alone in the operating room, Stiles went in search of someone to ask about the lights not coming on in the room when he ran into Melissa.
“Hey, Melissa,” Stiles said. “What's going on in the operating room?”
“We've been having issues for the last hour,” Melissa said. “Maintenance is coming to check it out. For now, that floor is down to back-up lighting.” She picked up a patient folder out of its holder from outside a room. She turned to Stiles to ask her next question. “I thought you said this was more of a hearing thing.”
“Auditory, yeah,” Stiles said, trying to correct the nurse standing in front of him.
“Yeah,” she said, tone saying it's the same exact thing. She walked away to go back to her job.
“It's also an Emma thing,” he said before walking off to the elevators. He stepped in and hit the button for his desired floor. When the doors closed, he noticed a figure standing in the back left corner of the elevator. Confused, he turned his head to the side, not knowing who this woman was.
She walked out as the doors slid open, Stiles watching her. He walked after her, coming to the realization of who this woman is.
~~~
FIRST PERSON POV
Not long after Stiles had left, I started hearing noises. Beeping noises, like the heart machine. I looked over at it, interest piqued, and started walking towards it. I leaned in close and put my hands on it, hearing indistinct whispering. I put my ear up to the screen, hearing that same voice whispering one name. Hayden.
I picked up a few cords that they put on you when you're either emitted or going into surgery, and what I saw terrified me. The Dread Doctors and a kid I've seen around school.
“Please,” the kid said. “Please, don't hurt me. Please. Please, don't hurt me.”
What I saw next grossed me out, but I was too caught up in what I was seeing to react. The Dread Doctors pulled back some of the kid's skin at his left ribs, revealing what I could only describe as glowing blue light.
“Your condition worsens,” The Surgeon said.
~~~
THIRD PERSON POV
Stiles continued to follow the woman down the hall, finally realizing who she was as she turned a corner. “Mom.”
He followed her to the roof, where she was standing on the edge. “Mom?” he asked. He walked towards her asking, “Mom, what are you doing?”
Sheriff walked right by Stiles to get to his wife. “Claudia.”
Stiles just watched as his father walked towards his mother, and climbed up to where she was standing on the roof as she turned around.
“What are you doing up there?” Sheriff asked.
“I couldn't stand to be in that room anymore,” Claudia said. She started to climb down from where she was standing. “Not with both of them looking at me like that.”
Stiles looked down at his hand as he felt someone grab onto it. Looking up at the culprit, her eyes were full of tears as they looked at each other. She nodded her head, letting him know that she was seeing it, too.
“Claudia,” Sheriff tried.
“They're trying to kill me,” Claudia breathed.
A tear slipped down Emma's cheek at what she was seeing, remembering.
“I don't care if you don't believe me, but they are. They're trying to kill me.”
Emma and Stiles watched as Sheriff held out his hand to Claudia, offering to help her down, her softly crying. Emma's grip on Stiles tightened, to which he returned as another tear slipped down her cheek.
“No,” Sheriff said. “That's not true. Come on down.”
Claudia walked towards the ledge with help of her husband, who then lifted her off the edge down his level. Sheriff wrapped his wife in a hug, sighing. “You have to remind yourself. It's the disease.”
Emma looked up at Stiles as a tear fell from his waterline.
“Remember what the dementia does?” Sheriff asked. “It gives you delusions.”
Stiles looked down at Emma, who was already looking at him. He let go of her hand, putting his arm around her shoulders.
“It makes you think that people are out to get you--”
“You don't see the way they look at me,” Claudia interrupted.
“Claudia, they're 10 years old,” Sheriff said.
She started crying a little bit harder. “He's trying to kill me.” She looked over at Stiles and Emma. “And she's putting it into his head.”
The two teenagers looked down at the ground, realizing that they're seeing their shadows, but as the ten year old's Sheriff mentioned not ten seconds earlier.
“Stop it,” Claudia said. “Stop looking at me like that. Stop it!”
Stiles pushed Emma behind him, trying to protect her like he always did.
Claudia fought against Sheriff, getting out of his grasp, running at the teens, yelling, “Stop looking at me!”
“Mom-- what are you do--” Stiles stammered as his mom hit him on his arms, repeatedly. “Mom--”
Emma moved out of the way so as to not be trampled by her boyfriend as he fell down to the ground.
“Claudia! Stop!” Emma tried, but it went on deaf ears as she continued to slap at Stiles.
Emma was the first to start coming out of the shared memory, seeing the same kid she'd seen before on top of Stiles, hissing at him. She screamed as she fell to the ground, feeling a sense of electric shock come through her, as well as not being able to breathe, almost like she was having an asthma attack.
She couldn't see what was going on, just hearing grunts and fighting going on.
Meanwhile as Emma was laying in an unknown pain, Stiles was getting slashed at by whatever supernatural was attacking him.
Theo jumped in, grabbing the kid's wrist and growling at him, trying to get him to stop. He did so by pushing him hard, sending him flying across the roof. Sparks flew as Theo  jumped in front of him. Theo blocked a swing from the kid, hitting his other arm before grabbing both arms, kneeing him in the side. Theo then twisted the kid around by his arms, letting go to let the kid spin in the air a little before landing on his back.
Theo went to grab his hands, but the kid kicked him back before getting up. Theo lurched towards the kid, wanting to fight back, but the kid pushed Theo up against the chain link fence that was to the side of them, sparks flying from inside.
The Kid knocked Theo's right leg from under him, sending him down to the ground. He stepped on Theo's wrist, causing him to let out a cry in pain.
Emma still laid on the ground, wheezing and gasping for air, knowing instantly that it was Scott. She then took a deep intake of breath, coughing to get her breathing back to normal. Sitting up to see what was going on more clearly, she saw Theo toss the kid to the ground.
The Kid stood back up, trying to swing at Theo again, who blocked him... yet again. Grabbing his arm, Theo twisted the Kid's arm back, breaking his bones before grabbing his throat.
Emma looked away as the urge to scream hit her like a bus. She heard everything; Theo ripping out the Kid's throat and the blood splattering to the ground. She stood as she heard someone whisper her name.
Her and Stiles ran at each other, meeting in the middle in a tight embrace. With their arms still around each other, they turned to look at Theo.
“Stiles... Emma...” Theo said. “You can't say anything. Please, don't say anything.”
Stiles and Emma looked up at Theo as he quickly looked from them to the Kid then back to them.
“Why not?” Stiles asked.
“Because I never said anything about Donovan.”

Moodboards for @artisticentropy’s tw wolf story, which you should definitely go read. It’s called Rending Shadows and features a Dr. Valack who never gets a cell in Eichen House but instead gets his hands on a very unwilling Void!Stiles and not so coincidentally real!Stiles. And oh? Stiles has a magic spark of his own? How very interesting. It’s delightfully dark and angsty and I’m excite to read the rest.
