Hey! The timing on your latest posts was truly God-led because my mom and I have been looking into being healthier in the new year. We’ve been looking into milling our own wheat and refining our own sugar from sugar cane. We also want to revamp our garden for veggies and prepping with storing more beans, wheat, etc. I’m trying to convince her that red meat is not the devil, but she’s worried about colon cancer. Do you have any insight on that? Thanks in advance!
That’s awesome that you’re taking those steps to remove the processed junk!
There are three great doctors who have YouTube channels who talk about meat-heavy keto and carnivore diets and how they help with various health issues. Their names are Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Shawn Baker, and Dr. Ken Berry
Here’s Dr. Chaffee talking about treating colon cancer with diet.
All three have tons of long-form videos, Q&A sessions, and shorts addressing different topics relating to diet and health.

I'm thinking of doing the carnivore diet:
What do I need to know to not die?
I'm glad you're interested. But to go ahead and let you know that Carnivore is not for everyone. But if you wish to try it, I'll happily give you some helpful advice. This diet consists of only eating meat (mostly red meat), eggs, water, and sea Salt. Animal based foods. No plant based foods. No fruits, vegetables, sugar, fructose, artificial sweeters, or other types of seasonings. Cook them on a cask iron skillet 🍳. Or if you have a grill, that's good too. Salt to taste. Redmond real Sea Salt is the best. But if you can't get some, pink Himalayan sea Salt and Celt salt are good alternatives. For the first few days, you might hit a sugar withdrawal. Which might feel overwhelming, but hang in there, you're not dying lol. There's also good videos from Dr. Ken Berry on YouTube and you can also go to my search bar and Carnivore for other stuff I posted and rebloged on the subject. I hoped this helped. And good luck on your journey. 😉 let me know if you got more questions.

Hello again it's me sorry if I'm being annoying I'm just so tired of doctors and want to take my health into my own hands. Anyways I recently took your advice but only ate sardines, eggs, saltwater, tea and regular water without meat (couldn't afford it currently) and to make a long story i felt like actual garbage I had night and day palpations, dizziness, fatigue, irritable mood swings, heavy breathing, leg cramps and so fourth ,But then I ate garbage (McDonald) and woke up without palpations and had good sleep like wtf??? So yeah I guess my body is too accustomed to garbage so I have to gently ween myself off of it before I try anything new anyways thanks again for all the advice and sorry again for being annoying..
(Not relevant but I had to fish sandwiches and a few sips of a vanilla milkshake)
That sounds pretty spot on for transition symptoms. If you are coming from a carbohydrate-heavy diet into a zero carb diet, your body will be forced into ketosis, which is the metabolic state of utilizing fatty acids to produce ketones in the liver, which are then burned for energy by the body. When you eat carbs, your body will never use fatty acids for energy and will instead just store them, and you will always be in a state of glycolysis, or carb-burning. Most modern people have been in glycolysis for almost their entire lives, as only breastfed babies stay in ketosis, and then that ends once they start eating the carb-based modern diet. Because of this, lack of use means that your body doesn't know how to make and utilize ketones efficiently. It has to learn how to do this, which can take as little as four days or as long as two weeks, depending on the individual.
During that time where the body is acclimating to this new way of functioning, you can feel all sorts of awful. This transition period is most commonly known as "keto flu." It ranges in symptoms. Everything you experienced is a symptom, and a couple others include skin rashes, nausea and diarrhea. Essentially the body is flipping out trying to figure out how to use this new fuel source, and at first it will be bad at it. But don't worry, those symptoms are transient and they won't do any long term damage to you. However, if you find them to be unbearably severe, what you can do instead is back off and transition into the diet slowly. Keep your carbs, but increase your animal-based food intake, and over a period of time start reducing your carbs while increasing your meat intake. It can help minimize the negative effects.
Also, lots of fat and electrolytes are your friend.
I would highly recommend looking into the videos of Dr. Ken Berry, Judy Cho, and Bella the Steak and Butter Gal on youtube. They have lots of overview videos with tips/tricks, advice, and pitfalls to avoid when starting the diet or trying to make adjustments to optimize it. Between them they have far more knowledge than I do. Not to say I don't like answering questions, but I want to make sure you're in the best hands possible :)

Here’s a tribute to all the teachers at the Lucyverse University!
Tumblr media
Jean Valjean Raymond (Apache Dancing) played by Shepard Menken in “The Adagio” (1951). Ethel suggests the recently-arrived cousin of someone at the French laundry to teach Lucy how to dance the Apache. He turns out to be more interested in amore than apache!
Tumblr media
Percy Livermore (English / Grammar / Elocution) played by Hans Conried in “Lucy Hires an English Tutor” (1952). Naturally, tutor Livermore has show business aspirations. Conried also played various teachers and instructors on Ball’s radio sitcom “My Favorite Husband.”

Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Robert Dubois (French) played by Alberto Morin in “The French Revue” (1953). A waiter moonlighting by giving French lessons, DuBois is really in show business and wants to audition for Ricky at the Tropicana. In reality, Morin was not French, but born in Puerto Rico!
Tumblr media
Kitty Winslow (Dance) played by Lucille Ball in “K.O. Kitty” (1958), an episode of the Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse. The dance instructor turns boxing coach when she ‘inherits’ a prize fighter. Lucy Carmichael also coached a prize fighter (played by Don Rickles) in a 1967 episode of “The Lucy Show.”
Tumblr media
Henry Taylor (Math) played by William Windom in “Lucy Digs Up a Date” (1962). Although Jerry calls him ‘Old Man Taylor’, he is a new young bachelor recently relocated to Danfield from San Francisco. He replaced teacher Mr. Lucas (a character we never see). In various episodes of “The Lucy Show” Jerry also talks about teachers named Mrs. Lopus and Miss Clementine.
Tumblr media
Vito (Fencing Instructor) played by Vito Scotti, also in “Lucy Digs Up a Date” (1962). He gives lessons at the new Danfield YMCA.
Tumblr media
Professor Dr. Gitterman (Singing and Acting) played by Hans Conried in “Lucy’s Barbershop Quartet” (1963) and “Lucy Plays Cleopatra” (1963). The roles are reversed when Lucy uses his breath control techniques in “Lucy Teaches Ethel Merman to Sing” (1964).
Tumblr media
Dr. Adrian Vance (Chemistry) played by Lou Krugman in “Lucy and Viv Take Up Chemistry” (1963). Vance teaches night school at Danfield High.
Tumblr media
Mr. Sheldon (Judo) played by James Seay in “Lucy and Viv Learn Judo” (1964). Sheldon runs a Judo and Karate studio in Danfield. During the lesson he is assisted by his prize students, Louis Coppola and Ed Parker, who were real-life martial arts experts hired for the episode.

Larry Wilcock plays the Math teacher
Barbara Babcock plays the English teacher
Olive Dunbar plays the Biology teacher
Donald Randolph plays the History teacher
Tumblr media
Ken Jones (Dance) played by Ken Berry in “Lucy Helps Ken Berry” (1968).  Jones teaches a course of tap and soft shoe for $25.
Tumblr media
Sister Mary Alice (Grade School Teacher) played by Mary Gregory in the film Yours, Mine and Ours (1968). Sister teaches Lucy’s son Philip and objects to him using his adopted name Beardsley, insisting he is still legally a North.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Mike Howden plays a Ski Instructor in “Someone’s On the Ski Lift with Dinah” (1971).

Tumblr media
Jack Scott (Auto Mechanics) played by Robert Rockwell in “The Not-So-Popular Mechanics” (1973). Scott teaches night courses at Valley Trade School. Rockwell is probably best remembered as biology teacher Mr. Boynton on “Our Miss Brooks” (1952-56) opposite Gale Gordon and Mary Jane Croft, a series filmed at Desilu Studios.

Today’s book is:
Lies My Doctor Told Me Second Edition: Medical Myths That Can Harm Your Health by Ken Berry
“Trust me; I’m a doctor” no longer has the credibility it once did. Nutritional therapy is often overlooked in medical school, and the information provided to physicians is often outdated. Advice to avoid healthy fats and stay out of the sun has been proven to be detrimental to longevity and wreak havoc on your system, and yet many doctors still regularly espouse this “wisdom.” What kind of advice is your doctor giving you? Is it possible you’re being misled? Dr. Ken Berry is here to dispel the myths and misinformation that have been perpetuated by the medical and food industries for decades. This updated and expanded edition of Dr. Berry’s bestseller Lies My Doctor Told Me exposes the truth behind all kinds of “lies” told by well-meaning but misinformed medical practitioners. In this book, Dr. Berry will enlighten you about nutrition and life choices, their role in your health, and how to begin an educated conversation with your doctor about finding the right path for you. This book is a survival kit on your journey through the confusing, and often misleading, world of conventional medicine and includes such topics as: • How doctors are taught to think about nutrition and other preventative health measures—and how they should be thinking • How the Food Pyramid and MyPlate came into existence and why they should change • The facts about fat intake and heart health • The truth about the effects of whole wheat on the human body • The role of dairy in your diet • The truth about salt—friend or foe? • The dangers and benefits of hormone therapy • New information about inflammation and how it should be viewed by doctors Come out of the darkness and let Ken Berry be your guide to optimal health and harmony!
You can buy the book here (Amazon link).
