i just finished Spare Me Your Mercy and I have to say that the finale was really well done and i'm so glad we finally brought the focus back to the characters themselves and not just The Themes And Moral Debate. It just goes to show that the the show would have been even better if they'd put just a little more focus and effort on KanTew and the romance. I get why they didn't but they really really didn't have to do much!

I could literally pitch you a Spare Me Your Mercy update patch that would fix almost everything that was lacking in the middle of the series: just make Kan and Tew teenage sweethearts who broke up and went on to med school/being a cop in Bangkok. Whichever tumblr user had that idea originally was galaxy brained. like literally that's almost all it takes. Instantly there is more believable motivation for them to be both drawn to each other, as involved in each others business as they are, and for Tew to dismiss the idea that Kan's Doing Euthanasia until the reveal. Instantly more of an emotional connection. Add one or two thematic flashback scenes, MAYBE a half hour runtime added to the show's overall total including fleshing out their reintroduction and stuff, and BOOM. Done. Your show goes from a 7 to a 9. I wouldn't even change the ending.

The Eye Colors being dual-toned was a suggestion by my friend Bunn a super-long time ago, and it's stuck ever since! <3

The final looks of the Tawhiri and Ruamoko were inspired by a combo of this artwork and this artwork! I mentally had Vulcanell and Eirlys down, but those two I was struggling with until that fanart came along!

Harumi being a trashy fanfic writer and Sally's last name being muse came from my other friend King!

I think Jesse (eventually) getting earrings came from an ask from another friend, but I can't remember WHICH friend but it's been a while it might've been Chaos and/or King

...Same with him eventually getting a tattoo that I can't believe no one has asked me about yet/still

A couple things from Indirect Action and Learning To Love (again) I plan to implement eventually

Literally 80% of the fankids were born from peer pressure gentle persuasion I couldn't resist

Jamie, Nici, and Lucy, but adjacently. Olivia gets a potential partner, Sunni gets a cousin, and Aftershock gets another cheerleader through this hgfdfgd. I especially have to mention Jamie cuz he's made it into a few significant sidestories

If I ever write a DR!fic, I owe this for Zane vs Jay battle (even if the og idea was technically mine more or less kjhgfgfd)

Less of a fan suggestion, more of an effect of fan reaction, but Kai and Olivia's dynamic was never supposed to be as...involved as it is, and also indirectly led to the further development of Bridget's character as a result

Also I guess everything beyond S10 getting added can count too cuz I really wasn't going to tackle any of that either until ideas and questions started coming at me from left to right and I was cursed with What Ifs as usual...and now the story truly wouldn't be complete unless I go up to Crystalized T-T)9

(and yes the whole thing with [REDACTED] would also technically fall under this because that DEFINITELY wasn't part of the og plan, and now here we are ._. )

My chickens all have old-fashioned girl's names (Agnes, Florence, Hazel, etc. -- my first blue chicken is always Regina from the Latin word for queen) and ducks have old-fashioned boy's names (Monty, Waldo, Eugene, etc.) Pigs are named after famous philosophers (Aristotle, Epicurus, Hegel, Nietzsche, Marx, etc.). I always have a rabbit named James Bunn, a dino named Baby Sinclair, a cow named either Brownie or Blondie (depending on whether she's white or brown) and an orange cat named Dr. Sinister. I never get sheep, but if I did I'd probably name them for yarn weights (Worsted, Fingering, Chunky, Aran, etc.)
