The Comprehensive Guide to Finding the Best Podiatrist Near You: PRINE Health’s Expertise in Pediatric and Senior Foot Care
Introduction
When was the last time you thought about your feet? They’re easy to overlook, yet they support us every day, taking us where we need to go. Proper foot care is crucial, and that’s where podiatrists come in. If you’re searching for terms like pediatric podiatrist, podiatrist doctor, or podiatrist near me, you’re in the right place. Let’s explore the world of podiatry and how PRINE Health can help you maintain healthy, happy feet.
Tumblr media
What is a Podiatrist?
Definition and Scope of Practice
A podiatrist is a medical professional specializing in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Their expertise ranges from common issues like bunions and ingrown toenails to complex conditions like foot deformities and diabetic foot care.
Types of Podiatrists
There are various types of podiatrists, each focusing on different aspects of foot care:
General Podiatrists handle everyday foot problems.
Pediatric Podiatrists specialize in children’s foot health.
Sports Podiatrists treat sports-related injuries.
Geriatric Podiatrists focus on foot care for seniors.
Why You Might Need a Podiatrist
Common Foot Problems
From blisters to bunions, many common foot problems can benefit from professional care. Issues like plantar fasciitis, athlete’s foot, and flat feet can significantly impact your quality of life.
Specialized Foot Care Needs
Certain conditions require specialized care. Diabetic patients, for example, need regular foot check-ups to prevent severe complications. Similarly, athletes might need specific treatments to stay in peak performance.
Pediatric Podiatrists: Caring for Young Feet
Tumblr media
Importance of Pediatric Foot Care
Children’s feet are constantly growing and developing. Ensuring proper foot care early on can prevent long-term issues. Pediatric podiatrists are trained to address the unique needs of young patients.
Common Pediatric Foot Issues
Conditions like flat feet, in-toeing, and heel pain are common in children. Pediatric podiatrists can provide treatments that guide proper foot development and alleviate pain.
Finding a Pediatric Podiatrist Near You
Searching for a pediatric podiatrist near me can help you locate specialists in your area. Look for practitioners with experience in pediatric care and positive reviews from other parents.
Senior Foot Care: Podiatrists for Seniors
Challenges of Senior Foot Health
As we age, our feet undergo changes that can lead to pain and mobility issues. Seniors often face problems like arthritis, reduced circulation, and decreased sensation.
Services Offered by Podiatrists for Seniors
Senior podiatrists offer services tailored to older adults, including diabetic foot care, treatment for arthritis, and custom orthotics to improve mobility and comfort.
Locating a Senior Podiatrist Near You
When searching for a “podiatrist for seniors near me,” consider factors like the podiatrist’s experience with geriatric patients and their ability to provide comprehensive care.
Choosing the Right Podiatrist
Tumblr media
Qualifications and Certifications
Ensure your podiatrist is board-certified and holds the necessary qualifications. This ensures they have the expertise required to provide high-quality care.
Experience and Specializations
Look for podiatrists who specialize in your specific needs, whether it’s pediatric care, sports injuries, or senior foot health. Experience in these areas can make a significant difference.
Patient Reviews and Testimonials
Reviews from other patients can provide insight into a podiatrist’s competence and bedside manner. Positive testimonials are a good indicator of quality care.
Podiatrist Services: What to Expect
Initial Consultation
Your first visit typically involves a thorough examination and discussion of your medical history. The podiatrist will assess your condition and recommend a treatment plan.
Treatment Plans
Treatment plans can vary from lifestyle changes and orthotics to more intensive interventions like surgery. Your podiatrist will tailor the plan to your specific needs.
Follow-Up Care
Regular follow-up appointments ensure that your treatment is effective and allows for adjustments as needed. Consistent care is key to maintaining foot health.
The Benefits of Regular Podiatric Visits
Preventative Care
Regular check-ups can catch problems early, preventing more serious issues down the line. Preventative care is especially important for diabetic patients and seniors.
Managing Chronic Conditions
For those with chronic conditions like diabetes or arthritis, podiatrists provide ongoing management to prevent complications and maintain mobility.
Enhancing Mobility and Quality of Life
Healthy feet contribute to overall well-being. Regular visits to a podiatrist can help you stay active and enjoy a better quality of life.
Finding a Podiatrist Near You
Online Directories and Reviews
Online platforms like Google and Yelp can help you find local podiatrists and read reviews from other patients. Look for highly-rated practitioners in your area.
Insurance Networks
Check with your insurance provider to find podiatrists covered under your plan. This can save you money and ensure you receive care from reputable professionals.
Personal Recommendations
Word of mouth is a powerful tool. Ask friends, family, or your primary care physician for recommendations.

Thorn in My Side || Jessie Fleming
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings : mentions of injury and surgeries. insinuations of cheating and false accusations. angst. happy ending and smut will be in part two.
summary : you get injured, its Jessie's fault. or so you thought.
a/n : as i type this, i think i've figured out how to incorporate the smut! i'll get to writing as soon as this is posted! i'm not sure if it makes much sense, here's to hoping. enjoy.
“for your UCLA Bruins, number 21, Jessie Fleming!”
Jessie steps forward and smiles, waving to the flood of Bruins fans in the stands cheering them on. You clap with a scowl on your face, watching as the girls in the stands ogle and fawn over her. You’re admittedly jealous of her for reasons unbeknownst to you, but seeing the 5’5’ Canadian made your blood boil.
She was good on the football pitch and was smart to go along with it. Jessie had it all. Being called up for most of her time in school and playing for her national team made her well-known in the soccer world from the moment she was here in America.
She was ferocious on the grass, a fearless midfielder who put everything out there.
The game was a close one, tied at the half 2-2. There were lots of contact, tackles, and battles that made it clear to anyone watching that there was tension between you and Jessie. One always found the other; if one had the ball, the other wanted it.
You had possession, running towards goal. There was a flash of blue and you were on the ground yelling in pain, hands clutching at your ankle. There was a loud pop and your ankle began to swell. The trainers came over and were hauling you off on a stretcher almost immediately, the ref showing Jessie a yellow for the unsafe tackle. It wasn’t a red card because really you fell a little weird and her studs were nowhere near your ankle.
She looked genuinely sorry, taking your hand in hers as you were stretchered off. You were in too much pain to care, shoving her hand out of yours and your teammates pulling her away from you.
A broken ankle was what they said. It was a clean break but you needed surgery and that meant no more soccer for the season.
Just great.
They put you in a wheelchair before you head to the hospital, your parents are already at the stadium to take you. You hear the final whistle blow and your teammate rolls you in, the girls all feeling sad when you tell them the news. There’s a little Bruins blue in the sea of Trojans in front of you and there’s a Canadian standing there digging her cleat into the grass, wanting to apologize.
Megan and Kasey stand beside you just in case things get a little heated. Jessie steps forward and looks more sorry for you when she sees the bandages and you in a wheelchair.
“Is it broken?” she asks genuinely, looking at your leg and then at you.
“No thanks to you,” you snide, rolling your eyes at her. “What do you want now, Fleming?”
“I wanted to apologize, I didn’t mean for this to happen,” she says sincerely but you’re too bitter to hear her take ownership of her actions.
“You knew what you were doing, Fleming. You’ve always been out to get me our entire college career and now in our final year you finally get what you want!”
You don’t know the tears were starting until they did, pouring down your face hot and fast. She looked a little mortified and pale, backing away and saying she was sorry over and over before a sea of Bruins pulled her away to celebrate their win.
The whole car ride to the hospital you spent weeping, thinking about how you’re not going to be able to play your senior year out like you had hoped. But more so of the look of pure horror on Jessie’s face when you accused her of hating you so much that she would purposely hurt you.
She looked on the verge of tears. Like hurting you scared her.
You scared her.
||
“The break is clean, but rehab will take a while if you’re not careful,” said Dr. Jeff, the attending podiatrist.
“How long?”
“You’re looking at 14 to 16 weeks, kiddo. Two years if you’re stubborn like most of my patients are.”
“16 weeks sounds great.”
“Smart kid you got here,” the doctor tells your parents with a smile, “I’ll schedule you in for surgery today, you should be out of here by the end of the week.”
The doctor leaves and your mother begins to fuss, propping up pillows and getting your nurse to bring you more jello. Your father, on the other hand, has a look of all-knowing on his face.
“I’m sorry Dad,” you begin, head hanging low the moment your mother leaves the room.
“Don’t be sorry, peanut. These things happen. Better now than when you’re on a professional team, yeah?”
“She didn’t really make me break my ankle did she?” you ask, looking up at your dad who was rubbing your back as the tears filled your eyes again.
“It was the perfect tackle, kiddo. You just fell a little funny is all.”
“She looked so horrified when I said she did it on purpose,” you sob, leaning into your father’s stomach. He held you tight and cradled your head, your heart hurting more than your broken ankle, the face Jessie made when the words left your mouth etched behind your eyelids.
||
There are plenty of flowers in your room the moment you wake from surgery. Lots of cards and get well soon balloons hung from the ceiling. You were still groggy when your teammates visited, Megan was sure to bring lots of Sharpies to sign your cast with, all the girls leaving a nice note for you on it.
There was an hour left for visitations and your parents just left to wash up at home. You were mindlessly scrolling through the terrible TV channel selections while finishing your 5th Jello cup when there was a knock on the door.
“Come in!” you yell, thinking it was a nurse coming to check your vitals again. What you didn’t expect was to see a brunette Canadian poking her head through the door.
“Hi,” she said sheepishly, standing by the door unsure if you really would want her to come in.
“What are you doing here?” you ask as kindly as possible, eyes flickering towards the clock above the door, “it’s late, why aren’t you back at school?”
“Spring Break, my parents are down from Canada so I asked to see you before we drove back,” she says quietly, stepping in a little more. “Can I come in?”
You nod, unsure if your mouth would be polite enough. Anger still seethed in your bones but the look of sheer horror on her face was still fresh in your mind.
“How bad was it?” she begins, still standing near the now-closed door.
“Clean break, should take 16 weeks if I’m careful.”
“That’s good. The doctors here are great.”
“They are quite convincing, they know how to get a patient to stay on their medical plan.”
“Did you get Dr. Jeff?”
“He accused me of being stubborn.”
Jessie laughs and you smile, a light blush creeping up your cheeks. It’s an adorable sound and her face of laughter replaces the one of fear you had burned into your mind.
“I’m really sorry for all this,” she begins but you cut her off.
“It wasn’t your fault, my dad said it was a clean tackle. I just fell funny.”
You looked up at her and saw the relief on her face and she stepped forward, taking your hand in hers. You took a deep breath and reciprocated her ownership of her mistakes, feeling the weight lift off your shoulders the moment you looked her in the eyes.
“I shouldn’t have said what I said the other day Jessie, that was not fair to you.”
“Heat of the moment love, don’t worry about it.”
Your heart clenches hard when the pet name slips out of her lips and you smile, hoping she didn’t see your eyes dilate and feel your skin warm up. She nods and bids goodbye just as her phone rings which tells you her parents are waiting outside.
You sit there giddy and a little starstruck as she disappears out of view. Your hand is warm from her touch and you can still feel her hand holding yours. You thump your head back and curse loudly, before grabbing your leg in pain temporarily forgetting that you were actually hurt.
You giggle and bite your lip, shaking your head when your phone dings.
Maybe: Jessie Fleming.
“You look cute when you’re flustered.”
You clap a hand to your mouth and smile, face heating up with a dark blush.
“You did this, you better fix it.”
“I think we can make that happen, love.”
You don’t think you slept much that night, texting till the sun came up. Your parents came in to check on you in the morning and found you with your phone still on call with Jessie but you two were asleep. You woke up to your doctors talking to your parents and discussing your rehab plan. There was another text from Jessie, making your heart skip a beat.
“You’re also very cute when you’re sleeping.”
Over the next few weeks, you two talked constantly. Jessie kept you company when you were bored at rehab and you kept her company while she was training on her own. You called her every night before bed, giggling and laughing well into the night most nights.
“How is rehab coming along?” Jessie asked as you were lying back on the examination table to relax your ankle. She was in her bed, looking as stunning as you had been denying yourself the chance to admit.
“Good, looks like I can put pressure on it by next week if Tiff lets me,” you say, side-eyeing your trainer Tiffany who was doing cupping on another teammate’s back.
“Girl, I will hold your papers hostage, don’t test me,” Tiffany jokes, waving the lit fire stick at you.
“Yes ma’am I’ll be super-duper extra careful!” you answer with a salute, making Jessie laugh so loud it rings through the room. Most of your teammates know the thing you’ve got going with her and think it’s cute.
All but one.
Megan.
She stood at the door listening to you ramble on about Jessie this and Jessie that, her blood boiling at the thought of you being buddy-buddy with the girl she believed to be the one who hurt you.
Megan was a freshman who was from Florida. She was a great pick from her high school team, and the best defender on the East Coast. She made the team here at USC and to say the least, she fit right in.
There was homogeny that wasn’t there before she joined and the linkup between you and her helped you take her under your wing. She looked up to you and was so ecstatic to play with you after watching you on TV.
She felt that Jessie took away her only chance to play with you before you graduated.
Jessie needed to pay.
“Hey, weird question,” Jessie starts, one night while you two were tucked in bed and on the phone with each other.
“Yeah?” you ask, turning over onto your side. Jessie looked a little concerned but you shrugged it off, the girl was known to constantly look worried.
“Someone sent me this photo but it’s from an unknown number, I thought it was weird.”
Sent.
You looked at it in shock.
It was you. Kissing a girl on the basketball team.
“Jess this isn’t me.”
“I’m not blind you know, that’s you.”
“Jessie, I swear this was doctored! I’ve never talked to this girl, let alone fucking kissed her!”
“Then why did the fucking photo come with a text that said, “She’s not who you think she is,”?”
“I don’t know! No one else but the girls know about you and me! I promise Jessie please!”
“I need some time to think. Leave me alone.”
She hangs up.
The tears fill your eyes as you stare at this photo. You don’t even think you’ve crossed paths with this girl, having not been the biggest fan of basketball. But your face was clearly there and hers was too. Her lips were on yours and you looked like you were enjoying yourself.
You think and you think hard. You didn’t go to any parties lately with your leg and you haven’t been to any games of theirs. You stared at the photo for hours, wracking your brain for some kind of explanation.
An explanation as to why Jessie looked so hurt at the thought of you with someone else.

A Sweet Moment With Lulu. She Has My Number. Why Does Anyone Have A Donkey?
I was talking about our farm at the podiatrist’s office this morning, and Dr. Daly asked me, “Why do people have donkeys?’ I had to pause. I got a donkey, I said, because they are good guard animals and they would protect my sheep (and they have, no coyote or stray dog has come near the sheep in 15 years). But they have come to mean more than that to me and Maria. They are intelligent,…

Fav Larry Fics I Read in February
Swallow the Knife - whoknows @crazyupsetter
“You came,” Louis says, still breathless, clinging to Harry, uncaring that his sweat is getting all over Harry’s presumably clean dad shirt, or that he’s making Harry hold up all of his weight. “Of course I came,” Harry says. He shifts, one arm curled underneath Louis’ arse, the other spreading wide in the middle of Louis’ back. “If I ignored you every time you pissed me off we would have stopped being friends a long time ago.” Louis already knows that, of course. It doesn’t do anything to stop the pleased squirm in his belly every time Harry proves it, though. They fight like nobody’s business, both of them too stubborn to pull their punches when they’re arguing, and it used to get them in trouble, but they always make up. Adrenaline makes Louis loose-lipped, and they both know it. He tightens his arms around Harry’s neck, buries his face in his hair. “I missed you,” he confesses, quiet. “Doesn’t feel the same up there by myself.” 76k [Took me a criminally long time to get around to reading this. Read it just as LTWT began lol. But this is the type of dom/sub relationship I live for in fics.]
From the Start - allwaswell16 @allwaswell16
Louis has no idea that one act of kindness will cause his life to spiral out of control. But that's what happens when his new friend fake proposes to him and a video of it goes viral. 32k [Their relationship slowly grew to be so intense, it was so interesting to watch it develop.]
Blood Pomegranate - docklands @hershelsue
Louis Zinchenko is an orphan. Like many others, he ends up being kidnapped by the heads of the Silver Man project, a scheme run by the USSR government to create genetically enhanced soldiers. After he manages to escape, he is taken in by the Russian mafia, where he finds a home. His artificially baneful organism serves the organisation well and his status as public enemy quickly rises. A titanium body, a staggering amount of money and immoral glory seem to indulge him abundantly. During a mission, however, Louis’ particular universe shifts when he stumbles across Dr Harry Styles, an English geneticist who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. 47k [I loved this fic. The concept is so unique and I adored the specificity of the word choices. Watch the TW!]
An Unbalanced Force - kingsofeverything @kingsofeverything
Harry has the rest of his life planned. Marriage. Career. Kids. Happily ever after. But sometimes plans don’t work out. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. 110k [Felt extremely realistic, which I do love in fics. But also the pacing was immaculate.]
You, Who Never Arrived - abrighteryellow @a-brighter-yellow
“That was him, Niall.” He claps a hand over a disbelieving laugh. “My soulmate – the person I’ve been waiting for since I was nine years old. That was him on the other end of the phone.” “But it can’t–” Niall stutters, unsure of what to do, how to put a stop to this. “That wasn’t real.” “Wasn’t it?” Louis rushes past him, zipping up his fly. He grabs a black denim jacket from a hook near the door. “Then who did I just talk to?” “Where are you going?” Niall demands as Louis pockets his keys and swings his front door open. “I just have to get a look at him. I just have to see, that’s all!” “You’re not serious. Louis, it’s already late.” “He’s at the airport. Fifteen years I’ve been expecting him around every corner, and now he’s half an hour away. I can’t just sit here.” “Bu–” “I’m not going to do anything crazy, I promise. I just–I have to see him. This is my chance. Maybe my only chance.” Louis Tomlinson is days away from marrying a perfectly nice podiatrist when he gets a phone call that changes everything. Or, the Only You AU in which Louis has a soulmate and it's definitely not Harry Styles. 40k [Just felt like I was on the adventure/mission with Lou and Niall and I liked that a lot. I was taken by surprise at some of the things.]
Call It True - abrighteryellow @a-brighter-yellow
With dreams of being a successful novelist, Harry’s been working so hard that he almost doesn’t notice the smoothie shop that just opened down the street. But he can’t miss the mysterious, irresistible boy who works there, nor the strange but entirely positive effect his drinks seem to have. Harry needs to know what’s going on and he wants to get close to Louis, though not necessarily in that order. 48k [Is it obvious I binged all the fics by this author? Just felt really magical and the concept was brilliant.]
Falling Slowly - LHStylinson
You'd be surprised how much you can have in common with someone completely different from you. Or Louis is a quiet and shy famous football player who has a secret obsession with fish and Harry is a photographer who talks enough for the both of them. 43k [This, this, this, this. the biggest comfort fic for me anyways... i have a high angst tolerance.]
Secrets Don’t Make Friends - devilinmybrain
5 times Louis' crew knew too much, and the 1 time they thought they knew, but didn't really. Not at all. 30k [okay wow.] *has similar vibes to the fic below*
Lovin’ Online - pleasinglouis, levelofcharm @levelofcharm , @softloulove
“Huh?” Harry asks, muffled by his forearm. He feels lips on his face and the tip of Louis’ nose against his ear when Louis repeats himself. Brain sluggish with sleep, it takes a moment for him to process the words, but his eyes snap open, and he’s met with darkness. He's got to be dreaming, there’s no way Louis just said what he thinks he said. “What did you say?” He can see the vague shrug from Louis before he turns around to toss the towel with the pile of their discarded clothes. “Did you say…” he starts slowly, automatically slinging his arm around Louis as he gets back into bed and throws the blankets over them. “That we should make a sex tape?” Louis asks rather nonchalantly for such a big proposition. He cuddles easily into the warm body and confirms, “Yes, I did.” the soft frat bros sex tape(s) 27k [How was it so soft and so dirty at the same time???] *has similar vibes to fic above*
Bonded - juliusschmidt @juliusschmidt
Louis cannot remember his life before Harry. He had one- Harry is, after all, two years younger than he is- but he cannot pull up even one memory that is not somehow intertwined with Harry. the one where they are bonded, but it's not like that and they have to pretend like it is. 20k [I am obsessed with this concept and am already reading some random Hockey rpf fics to get more of it.]
Made For Lovin’ You - cuddlerlouis @cuddlerlouis
“I’m in,” is all Louis receives. He blinks a few times, making sure he’s reading this right. “For real?” he asks, just to be a hundred percent sure. “Yes,” pops up. “How do you wanna pursue?” The alpha adds, like he’s on a special mission or something. “I’m gonna call us a cab to go to mine. Once I know it’s here, I’ll leave and join you there,” Louis explains. “I’ll text you to go around five minutes before it arrives, so it doesn’t look suspicious, and our friends don’t notice us leaving together.” “Noted.” So Louis does, and ten minutes later, he’s sat in the backseat of a cab, next to Harry Styles, the person he hates the most but unfortunately still finds attractive. They’re on their way to fuck in Louis’ flat. Splendid. - Or the one where a quick, horny decision ruins Louis’ summer plans, but may also lead to unexpected discoveries. Featuring the road trip of dreams, misunderstandings, and a bit of fate. 52k [This fic had me hooked, I read touch depri and I’m there.]
The Sidelines - RedRidingStiles
"Alright, I know you guys are the best of friends but I'd like you to do this for the rest of the team,” Cowell says, making the rest of the team snicker. "So I want both of you to compliment each other." "I hate your trainers. I mean that in the nicest way possible. They're very...yellow," Louis says, arms crossed as he offers a fake close-lipped grin. "It's really nice of you to blow anyone you find slightly attractive," Harry replies, a sickening sweet smile on his lips. "Thank you, children, let me remind you this is a college hockey team. Try again," Coach says, completely unamused. Or Harry and Louis play hockey for Penn state and can't stand one another, since they can't keep their hatred off the ice their coach and team do what they can to keep their hard earned spot in the playoffs and their two star players from killing each other. 47k [One of the best enemies to lovers fics I’ve ever read.]

My old OBGYN office had a really cool door with frosted glass with like pressed lavender separating the waiting room and the exam rooms! I too wish all offices had cool touches that make the drs office more exciting
that does sound cool :) it also reminds me of a funny story from my college years I totally forgot about. tmi maybe if you don't like feet I guess
when I was a freshman, very early in my first semester I started to get, uhhhh...warts. On my feet. it was crazy. I have no idea what happened. like it was a ton of tiny white warts but also a couple of very painful one. so I called the health center to make an appointment with someone.
Very explicitly, I explained I needed someone to check my feet. They asked why, I said warts. on my feet. they say okay, coming in for warts, and I was like yep for my feet. cool they scheduled me for later.
I came in and they told me to go to floor x room y and when I get there I notice it's sorta...gyno. there were posters of female anatomy, and everything was very very pink. Pink chairs, pink curtains, soft pink walls. Just very pink and soft and comforting. I was like....uh, weird. But maybe not weird. I am a woman.
Finally the nurse calls me into the room from the waiting room and starts asking me the standards...do you smoke, do you drink, do you do drugs, are you pregnant, when was your last period...etc. And she has this very soft and gentle demeaner about her. I felt like I was being treated like I was made of glass. The examination room...was also a soft pink, and the curtains were drawn giving the room a very dark but safe feeling. So I was starting to think "omg this woman thinks I'm here bc of an std...and I'm not."
So then she she finishes up her notes, turns to me with the most sympathetic look on her face, and says in the most calming and soothing ways, "tell me why you're here."
"Well I have warts..."
"And when did they show up"
"Well...okay like a couple weeks ago but -"
She lays a concerned hand softly upon my knee.
"Do you have an idea how they were transmitted?"
And I was like, "They're on my feet."
Immediately her face and voice changed. "This is the genecology wing." I felt like I was being told off. I mean, this was a waste of her time but like...I didn't come here for a joke. So I was like "yeah I got this sense but I told them it was for my feet."
Hard to remember, but I get the sense she was not nice and told me I should go and talk to the front desk and be very specific about why I'm here. Embarrassed and frustrated I left. Of course the front desk was like "okay whatever, come back at this time" which was much later. It hurt to walk which is why I called in the first place so it was frustrating because I was hoping they could be freezed off quickly.
Come back, get sent to literally the most opposite side of the building, and this wing is like a morgue. The fluorescents were BLARING, the walls were WHITE, the floor was GLEAMING, no posters no curtains, nothing. I'm immediately hustled into a room there is no fucking wait for me at the Foot & Wart wing of the building.
The room I'm in is huge like it's some sort of part time classroom. The doc comes in almost immediately and was like "So you've got some warts on your feet. let's see them." It was like night and day from my experience from earlier. Wham bam you're here for warts that are no where near your vulva, let me take a fucking LOOK. She grabs my foot with such confidence and intention. Pokes around and says "I can't do anything about this, I could freeze them off but you have too many you might not be able to walk. you should go to a podiatrist." Go on, get. Practically shooed out of there with a broom like a rat in a pantry. Class was probably starting in 8 minutes.
Anyway, I think I booked an appointment at home for thanksgiving but by the time it rolled around they literally...disappeared. gone. Never came back. weirdest experience, but the night and day difference between me being treated like a porcelain doll when I had the Unspeakables and me being treated when my illness became foot funny, it stuck with me lol. Although I guess I forgot about it but I'm glad I was reminded.

If you experience any lesion that causes discomfort while walking, it is advisable to schedule a visit with a podiatrist. What is the most effective treatment for Athlete's foot?
Athlete's foot is the commonly known skin problem caused by fungus. Although the problem isn't severe, it sometimes can cause a lot of discomfort. However, with some home remedies, one can effectively treat any case of athlete's foot. But you shouldn't neglect to schedule an appointment with a foot and ankle Phoenix specialist. Coming back to the home remedies, check out the most common treatment options.
Tumblr media
Home Remedies
There are a number of home remedies that can be efficient in killing the fungus causing the athlete's foot.
1.                    Tea tree oil
The oil is famous for its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Thus, it works great to get rid of an athlete's foot. In fact, a study revealed that tea tree oil works better than the placebo in relieving the athlete's foot issue between the toes. Further, the study revealed that using tea tree oil for athlete's foot helped about 64% of people, while only 31% were cured using Placebo.
However, you must be careful while using tree tea oil as it can be irritating to the skin. To use the oil correctly, you need to place a few drops of the oil into a carrier oil like olive or coconut oil and rub it on the feet, or else you can purchase tea tree oil in the form of creams and salves.
2.                    Garlic
Garlic, since ancient times, has been used for medicinal properties. In fact, several studies have revealed the effective use of garlic against bacteria and fungi. Soaking feet in fresh garlic cloves water is a great way to get relief from an athlete's foot. For this, you need to crush 3-4 fresh garlic and mix them into a tub of water. Now, leave your feet in the water for 30 minutes twice a day for a week for better results.
3.                    Hydrogen peroxide with iodine
Iodine and peroxide are most popularly used to disinfect wounds and cuts or kill the germs on the skin. To try this home remedy for athlete's foot, you need to mix hydrogen peroxide and Iodine solution in a large bucket. You can purchase an iodine solution at any drug store. Now dip your feet in the solution and apply the mixture to the affected areas using a cotton ball.
Keep in mind not to use iodine directly on the skin without diluting it as it can damage the skin. Further, peroxide might stink if the skin is irritated or broken and can even bleach fabrics and hair. Therefore, make sure to apply the mixture in a shower or bathtub to prevent bleaching or unwanted stains.
4.                    Baking soda
Baking soda with its antifungal properties makes a great home remedy for athlete's feet. To use this effective home remedy, you need to make a baking soda soak. To make the foot soak, you need to mix half a cup of baking soda in a bucket of warm water. Now put your feet in it for 15 to 20 minutes a day. Once done, make sure to dry the feet thoroughly but not rinse with water.
Treatment
In case none of the home remedies work for you, or if the problem has been creating an issue for more than 2 weeks, it is better to look for foot specialists near me and connect with them to receive adequate help. The doctor might advise you to use some antifungal creams on medications in case the infection does not respond well to home treatments.
Connect with a specialist for better guidance

Introduction:  When I get older my main goal is to eventually become a pediatric surgeon. From a young age I had always  known that I had wanted to be a doctor because it was what me grandparents had pushed me to do as they had noticed I had real knack for  constantly wanting to help. as I got older  and gain more insight on what I had wanted to be I realized I wanted to be a pediatrician because I had loved working with kids. Then, in 2017 I took a trip to India to do a medical internship and fell in love with surgery and  realized that what I truly wanted to become was a pediatric surgeon. Becoming a pediatric surgeon is not only a dream of mine but its somethings the rest of my family looks forward to as well because id the first actual doctor in my family.

1st question: what was the toughest part about medical school for you?
Answer: learning how to study/ figuring out how to study, getting to med school I quickly realized that my study habits weren’t efficient because there was so much information constantly being thrown at us and I first I couldn’t keep up so I had to adjust .
2nd question: what part of the mcat was the hardest for you or what part do you suggest I study the most?
Answer: anything pertaining to physics , you know chemistry biochemistry and. Bio were my thing but anything pertaining to physics was a no-go I didn’t understand anything it was like a foreign language to me.
3rd question: is calc 2 required for medical school (im sorry this was super specific but I had been trying to find the answer online for months and I couldn’t find it anywhere).
Answer:  I would think so, I think the requirements have changed since ive been in school but when I was there took calc 2 so would assume its still a requirement.

Google Local Filler Content Is Poor UX and Needs Improvement
Tumblr media
Have you ever sent in a school assignment full of ramblings.
Thinking your instructor wouldn't notice that you hadn't read the prescribed book?
I admit that I once helped my younger sister meet a word count requirement by using analogies like
"waves smashing against the rocks of hardship" when she, for some reason,.
Skipped reading The Communist Manifesto in high school.
She received an A on her report, but it isn't the grade I would give
Google when there isn't enough information to properly complete local packs,
Local Finders, and Maps.
In response to significant local inquiries, the appearance of irrelevant listings:
It makes it excessively difficult for searchers to locate what they are looking for.
It makes it more difficult for relevant firms to compete.
Creates the misleading appearance of a plethora of local resources, resulting in a poor UX.
Today, we'll look at some original data to try to quantify the scope of the problem.
And see what Google and local businesses can do about it.
What’s meant by “local filler” content and why is it such a problem?
The screenshot above shows the local pack results for a
Specialized search for a gastroenterologist in Angels Camp, California.
Google has jumbled together results that are two-thirds unrelated to the actual purpose of my query.
Because I am not searching for an eye care centre or a pediatrician.
The third result is superior, although Google had to go around 15 miles from my selected search city to obtain it.
Because Dr. Eddi is, at the very least, a gastroenterologist.
It's a little disappointing to see Google allow the one accurate specialist to be outranked.
By two random local medical firms, maybe because they're closer to home.
It clearly won't do to have an optician or a pediatrician counsel with me on gut health,
And the issue becomes even odder when we go to the local finder.
Only two of the twenty results
Google has gathered to make up the first page of the local finder are gastroenterologists,
lost in the weeds of podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, general MDs,
and a few clinics, with no clarity as to whether their presence in
the results relates to having a digestive health specialist on staff.
None of the gastroenterologists mentioned are in the town I've chosen.
The relevancy ratio is rather low for the user, and it creates a frightening atmosphere
for competent practitioners who must be located in all of this muck.
You may have read my previous posts about local SEO attempting to create an online mirror of real-world communities.
That is the ideal: providing towns and communities with an outstanding digital reference guide to local resources.
However, when I verified with the real world (calling medical practices in the area),
I discovered that there are no gastroenterologists in Angels Camp,
despite Google's results implying that there should be.
According to residents, you must either go 25 minutes to Sonora to visit a
GI doctor or drive one hour and fifteen minutes west to Modesto for adequate treatment.
Google has partnered with AI,
but the current state of search leaves it up to my human intellect to recognize
that the SERPs are making hollow promises and that there are no GI docs at Angels Camp.
If I were thinking about moving to this neighbourhood and wanted to be close to specialists,
this is what a neighbour, primary care doctor, or local business group would tell me.
But Google informs me that there are more
than 23 million organic options related to my needs, as well as hundreds of local company
listings that are so near to my purpose that they deserve to be at the top of 3-packs, Finders, and Maps.
The most tangible outcome for the Google user is
that they would likely feel unnecessary weariness while wasting time on
the phone phoning irrelevant doctors at a time when they are in desperate need of assistance from a qualified specialist.
As a local SEO, I'm conditioned to look at local company categories and can almost instantly sort out superfluous material
as a result, but is the ordinary searcher noticing the shortened "eye care cent..." on the preceding listing?
Since Google opted to hide listing categories years ago,
they almost likely aren't utilizing a Chrome plugin like GMB Spy to view all of them.
On a more philosophical note, my problem with local SERPs
that are comprised of useless filler material is that they present an inaccurate image of local bounty.
The job of local companies (and local SEOs!) takes on new significance when they provide and promote vital local resources.
Google's false representation of plenty may, inadvertently, lead to popular indifference.
The truth is that the United States is facing a severe shortage of doctors,
and anything that does not reflect this reality risks undermining public action on issues
such as why our country, unlike the majority of nations, does not make higher education
free or affordable so that young people can become
the medical professionals and other essential service providers we unquestionably require to be a fun place to live.
When local businesses (and local SEOs!) supply and promote essential local resources, their role takes on new meaning.
Inadvertently, Google's misleading depiction of plenty may lead to public apathy.
The truth is that the United States is facing a severe shortage of doctors,
and anything that does not reflect this reality risks undermining public action on issues
such as why our country, unlike the majority of nations,
does not make higher education free or affordable for young people so
that they can become the medical professionals and other essential service providers we unquestionably require.
Just how big is the problem of local filler content?
If the SERPs behaved more like people, my search for “gastroenterologist Angels Camp”
might provide anything akin to a featured snippet indicating,
“Sorry, our index shows there are no GI Docs in Angels Camp.”
You should search in Sonora or Modesto for the nearest options.”
It would not have resulted in the current predicament of, "Bad digestive system?
The present results imply that you should see an eye doctor.
I wanted to know how big of a problem this has become for Google.
Using the search keyword “gastroenterologist” and each of the locations,
I examined the local packs in 25 towns and cities across California with vastly varied demographics.
I took note of how many of the results returned were in the city
I had chosen in my search, and how many included the term "gastroenterologist" as their major category.
I even gave Google an edge in this test by including entries in
Google's wins column that did not include gastroenterology as their major category
but did have some form of that term in their business title (making the specialty obvious to the user).
Google offered 42 percent of the information in local packs that had no clear relationship to gastroenterology.
To be honest, it's a startling figure.
Consider how many tiresome, useless phone calls patients
may be made in search of digestive health advice if over half of the practices listed are not in this field of medicine.
In my tiny sample set, I observed that larger cities produced the most meaningful findings.
Smaller cities and rural regions have significantly lower relevance rates.
Meanwhile, Google is more precise when it comes to delivering results inside the city of the inquiry.
The problem is that what appears to be a win for Google here isn't truly a gain for searchers.
In my data sample, where Google returned accurate results from my stated city, the entities were frequently not GI physicians.
There were times when all three results were correct about the city, but none of them were correct about the specialty.
In reality, there was a one really strange example.
Aside from welders, keep in mind that our original Angels Camp
example illustrated how a searcher seeing a pack with filler ads in it and going
down further into the Local Finder results for assistance may wind up with even less relevance.
Instead of two-out-of-three useless local pack entries,
they may wind up with two-out-of-twenty worthless listings, with relevance relegated to obscurity.
Of course, filler listings aren't limited to medical fields.
I decided to conduct this small poll because I had seen how frequently,
in category after category, the user experience is less-than-ideal.
What should Google do to lessen the poor UX of irrelevant listings?
Keep in mind that we're not talking about spam here.
In Google land, that's an entirely different headache.
In my data, I found no instances of spam.
The welder was not attempting to pose as a doctor.
Rather, it looks like Google is favouring location terms above goods/services keywords, even when it makes little sense to do so.
To enhance UX, Google should create logic that eliminates very irrelevant items for specified head keywords.
What are the chances that this logic will work?
1. Google might depend more heavily on its categories.
Returning to our initial example, where an eye care centre is a top-ranked result for "gastroenterologist angels camp,"
we can utilize GMB Spy to see whether any of the categories selected by the company is "gastroenterologist."
Of course, Google can see all of the categories, and the absence of "gastroenterologist" among them should be a strong "no" vote on providing the item for our query.
2. Google may cross-reference the categories with the frequently overlooked business description.
Again, there is no mention of gastroenterological services.
Yet another "no" vote.
3. Google may do sentiment analysis on an entity's reviews to see if they contain the search keyword.
There are several references to eye care, but there are none to digestive health in the body of the reviews.
Yet another “no” vote.
Google may cross-check the supplied search terms against all of
the information gleaned through crawls of the entity's website.
This action should establish that there is no evidence on-site indicating
Dr. Haymond is anything other than an ophthalmologist.
Then Google would have to perform a calculation to reduce the significance of
the location (Angels Camp) based on an internal logic that specifies
that a user looking for a gastroenterologist in a city would prefer
to see gastroenterologists a little farther away than seeing eye doctors (or welders) nearby.
As a consequence of our question, this would be another "no" vote for inclusion.

5. Finally, Google may compare this crawl of the webpage to their overall web crawl.
This should serve as definitive proof that Dr. Haymond is an eye doctor rather
than a gastroenterologist, even though he is in our preferred location,
and provide us with a fifth “no” vote for putting his listing up in answer to our question.
The web is huge, as is Google's work,
but I believe the answer to addressing this sort of filler material is for
Google to depend more on its understanding of an entity's vertical and less on its location.
A diner may be ready to substitute tacos for pizza if there is a Mexican restaurant
a block away but no pizzerias in town, but the same rationale should not apply in these YMYL categories.
When Google's existing reasoning informs them there isn't a good solution,
it's fairly unusual for them to block local results from displaying at all.
It's easy to argue that fixing the filler content problem requires
Google to increase the number of results for which local listings aren't displayed.
However, I do not believe this is an acceptable option because
the user would frequently view irrelevant organic entries instead of local ones.
Conclusion
Society wants accurate search results supplied by diligent providers,
and rural and urban regions require equal quality standards
and a more sophisticated strategy than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Too frequently in Local, Google fails due to a failure to recognize real-world realities.
Let's hope they start using their abilities to their best.
