Psych 2: Lassie Come Home Easter Egg and Reference Guide

The following contains spoilers for Psych 2: Lassie Come Home.

As fun as 2017’s Psych: The Movie was, its 2020 sequel Psych 2: Lassie Come Home will likely supplant it in Psych-Os’ hearts, because it’s got 500% more Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson). But how does it stack up to its predecessor in terms of Psych callbacks and pop culture homages? Using our Spencer powers of observation, we’ve tried to catch every recurring inside joke between Shawn (James Roday Rodriguez) and Gus (Dulé Hill), plus all the episodic-specific bits. It’s a feature-length Hitchcock homage, but it’s also the toughest Easter egg hunt of your life. C’mon, son!

Psych 2: Lassie Come Home Easter Eggs and References

The title is a reference to Lassie Come Home, the 1943 Lassie movie about the beloved dog making her way home from Scotland. A German-language remake came out early in 2020.

It’s always a treat to hear the Psych theme song “I Know, You Know,” performed by creator Steve Franks and his band The Friendly Indians.

Lassiter wakes up to Shawn and Gus hovering above him at the recovery clinic is a throwback to when they kidnapped him for his bachelor party in “Deez Nups” and he came to with them screaming “Surpriiise!”

Morrissey the rescue dog reprises his role from Psych: The Movie in being adorable, incredibly nosy, and oblivious to Shawn’s hissing commands.

Sarah Chalke’s nurse character Dolores is most likely a nod to San Francisco’s Mission Dolores church and cemetery, the location for Carlotta Valdes’ grave in Vertigo.

Right out the gate, Dolores is treated to the requisite Gus nickname: “My name is Shawn Spencer, and this is my partner Bill Poopingtons.” However, Shawn and Gus take a sidebar for a very meta argument about their ongoing bit (while fitting in another bit):

“Gus, don’t be the night your dad fell asleep inside your mom. We can’t just stop doing bits we’ve been doing for ten years. We have fans, they have expectations, there’ll be a huge backlash.”

“Shawn, we are two dumbasses, we do not have fans.”

Compromise: Gus gets right of refusal until they land on a nickname he prefers. And so:

Gus also calls himself Jermajesty, channeling some Jackson Five energy.

“Black Jello” was Gus’ nickname in their adult dodgeball league.

The Herschel House is likely a nod to Herschel Daugherty, who directed over two dozen episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents…

Gus and Shawn are still bickering over driving the drivers ed car, even if we don’t see it in the movie. They do manage to be just as bad at turning the right direction when riding a motorcycle together.

“Now I know this ‘goofy little white guy/sexy black dude’ routine the two of you have going like the back of my scrubs.” Sarah Chalke played Elliot on Scrubs, whose JD/Turk bromance walked so that Shawn/Gus could run.

Shawn calls Dolores “the nurse from Color of Night,” the 1994 Bruce Willis erotic mystery thriller that won a Golden Raspberry for Worst Picture.

The boys get Jamba Juice because you never turn down an opportunity for a Jamba.

Shawn likens Gus’ pubic hair to Eddie Murphy’s mustache in his 1987 stand-up film Raw.

Shawn offers the dismembered hand to Gus to “knuck it up softly,” per their penchant for fist-bumping.

They later do fist-bump outside the old Psych offices, but not before channeling Han Solo and Chewbacca in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: “Gus, we’re home.” “[Wookiee sound]”

Psych has become a French-themed cat café… for now, at least. It’s not an alternative universe from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but the current subletter’s pop-up business. The proprietor (not the girl from Orphan) is played by Allison Miller, James Roday Rodriguez’s co-star in A Million Little Things.

“I am a psychic. He is a sympathetic pooper.” Poor Gus’ intestinal system gets called out again.

Henry’s (Corbin Bernsen) put-on voice gets compared to Tom Waits, Kathleen Turner, Harvey Fierstein, and Diedrich Bader.

Shawn neglected to tell his landlord that he’d moved, which tracks with his behavior in the series finale “The Break-Up.”

Henry reveals that in addition to telenovelas, he enjoys zeitgeist-y sobfests: “You left behind a slow cooker with a three-pound roast in it. You nearly This Is Us-ed the entire block.”

“This Is Us—Dad, why are you watching that show? They have the same show on ABC but newer”: Shawn’s shoutout to A Million Little Things.

Lassiter mistakes Reese Kessler, his supposed shooter, for country music singer Conway Twitty.

Lassiter’s to-do list includes “tape Galavant,” the short-lived musical comedy fantasy series created by Dan Fogelman (This Is Us), in which Timothy Omundson played King Richard. It also includes items poking fun at Lassiter’s crankiness (“yell at nature,” “chirping bird d-day plan”) and tenacity (“solve black dahlia”), and heartstring-tugging items (“pre-register for ironman” as in the triathlon). He also has written down Shawn’s S.E.I.Z.E. mantra from his short-lived career as Lassiter’s life coach in “S.E.I.Z.E. the Day”: Seize Eggs I don’t know Zebra Eighties.

Juliet (Maggie Lawson) lying to Shawn sounds strange, though not as strange as Lupita Nyong’o—the Tethered Lupita—in Jordan Peele’s Us.

Shawn’s “romantic dinner” for Jules is the menu from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (jelly beans, pretzels, buttered toast, popcorn, and ice cream sundaes) because it’s all they had at the gas station on the way home.

That prompts an iconic “C’mon, son!” from Gus.

Gus’ ringtone is “I’m Mr. Bootyman,” which is both Henry’s ringtone and the song featured in Buzz McNab’s bachelorette party stripper routine in “Deez Nups.”

Gus’ (technically Jules’) green snuggie bears a striking resemblance to official Psych contest merch.

Lassiter spotting mysterious bleeding figures out his window is an homage to Rear Window.

Richard Schiff (as Dr. Herschel) was Dulé Hill’s co-star in The West Wing.

Potterhead Gus wants to know if there are any people hiding in the pipes of the Herschel House, “speaking in their own tongue, perhaps Parsel.”

The Psych boys’ map of suspects briefly includes the Hell Hag from Gus’ dreams in “A Nightmare on State Street.”

Shawn has only been to Norway once with his brother-in-law Ewan O’Hara (John Cena), but they don’t talk about that… Maybe that’s where Psych: The Movie went after its cliffhanger ending?

Ova’s Norwegian song/chant toast at the Viking’s Ice Den is very similar to the Swedish toast in “Right Turn or Left for Dead.”

Ova’s violent son Per is first described as “the bearded Daryl Hannah.”

Shawn’s excuse to Detective Buzz McNab (Sage Brocklebank) for being in Santa Barbara is that he forgot a frisbee signed by German writer/director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Shawn’s first reaction to Jules potentially being pregnant: “You know the windows in the loft don’t even fully close, right? I’m gonna have to replace them, otherwise this is Baby’s Day Out all over again.” As Gus reassures him, he always did get worked up over John Hughes’ worst idea.

At the old Psych offices, Shawn pulls out the jousting lance from “100 Clues”—as well as a pineapple! He looks about to ask, “Should we cut this up for the road?” (his question during the pineapple’s first appearance in the pilot, plus at the end of Psych: The Movie) but stops himself.

When Lassie believes that fellow patient Mr. Wilkerson (Kadeem Hardison) has been walking around, Shawn and Gus have to go “full Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” to interrogate the supposedly catatonic patient.

Shoutout to Jessie Spano’s infamous “I’m so excited, I’m so excited, I’m so scared!” speed speech from Saved by the Bell.

If it’s not Scrubs, the boys are getting compared to Ren and Stimpy.

Mary Lightly (Jimmi Simpson) returns in another incredible, extra-hallucinatory look into Shawn’s brain… this time as a baby, since Shawn’s got fatherhood on the brain.

“We got jackaled!” Gus shouts upon learning that Wilkerson can walk—a reference to “hitting the jackal switch,” or going into stealth mode.

Shawn has always had a thing for singer Jewel, even after the Civil War movie (1999’s Ride with the Devil) and the Bollywood song.

Of course there’s a nasty dance when Shawn and Gus figure out who they think is behind everything.

Gus declares that “I am not going to let you shoot Shules’ baby!” only for the Chief (Kirsten Nelson) to ask, “What’s a Shules?” That’s the fans’ name for Shawn/Jules, a cute nod to a series OTP.

And of course, we can’t forget the fact that Jazmyn Simon, who plays Selene, is Dulé Hill’s real-life wife.

More than once, Shawn quotes The Handmaid’s Tale in reference to Gus and Selene’s baby: “Praise be” and “Blessed is the fruit.”

Dolores compliments Lassiter’s “chest of hair plentiful enough to wake all of Destiny’s Child.”

Shawn comes up with possible names for Gus’ child: Shaft, Shaftie, or D’Shaft—just like Gus’ nickname Sh’Dynasty (with a “God’s comma,” or apostrophe) from “Santabarbaratown.”

They also both coo “c’mon son” to Selene’s womb.

Selene’s proposal to Gus includes his negotiation that he and Shawn have adjacent homes with connecting pools, a callback to Shawn and Gus talking about their dream setup in “The Break-Up”; as well as Pluto! She asks, “Will you make me the happiest woman on this planet, on Eres, and Pluto?”

Shawn tells Juliet that “you’re my person,” the iconic Grey’s Anatomy line (though one would argue that Gus more accurately is his person).

When Lassiter stands (shut up, you’re crying) to meet Marlowe (Kristy Swanson), they place their palms together—like they did when he would visit her in jail, like they did at their wedding. My heart.

Chapter 121: Heroes and Villains

"Mom...do you know what realm they're talking about?" Snow asked.

"I'm afraid so, snowdrop. It's a place called the Land of Untold Stories. Time does not move there," Persephone revealed.

"Does this group have a name? Beside the Home Office?" Emma questioned. They nodded.

"They call themselves the Order of the Jackal. Anubis is kind of a mascot of sorts," Annie answered.

"And who is this leader?" David asked. Annie and Adrian exchanged a glance.

"Dr. Henry Jekyll…" they answered.

"Whoa...like Jekyll and Hyde?" Emma asked.

"Like exactly that. However, his story is quite different than the one known to the Land Without Magic," Annie replied.

"So he doesn't become Mr. Hyde part of the time?" Snow asked.

"Oh no...he does. He's quite obsessed with exploring dark and light. Good versus evil...it's probably too much to get into now. But trust me, with him as Author, that would be extremely terrifying," Adrian answered.

"Yeah...like his own story, his story lines would be classified in the horror genre," Annie shuddered.

"Okay...well maybe you can tell us more on the way. Right now, it's time to confront Greg and his detective friend," David said.

"Do we know if the Dragon has a way to get back into Storybrooke? I mean, surely he wouldn't have left unless he had a contingency plan," Snow said.

"She's right...I'm going to go talk to Circe," Hades replied.

"She'll never tell us anything, but we have to try," Persephone agreed, as they joined hands.

"We'll meet you at Granny's later," Hades said, as they used one of his invisi-portals and stepped through. The rest of them did the same and they found themselves in Storybrooke in front of Granny's. David stormed in and scanned the diner, but was disappointed that he didn't find Greg.

"I guess it makes sense that we never see him here. They are probably have been eating at odd hours so as not to run into us," Emma reasoned.

"I really hope so, Em...or I'm losing my touch," he complained. She scoffed.

"Dad...you just got chosen by Prometheus' flame and held Excalibur. I doubt you're losing your touch," she reminded. Snow smiled and slipped her arms around him.

"She's right...they've probably been going to great lengths to move in the shadows. Plus, it's not like we haven't been busy," his wife reminded him. He nodded.

"Let's see if they're in their rooms," he suggested, as they went over to the Inn side.

"Granny...can we look at your bookings?" Snow asked. She shrugged and handed over the book.

"They're not here…" Snow said in confusion.

"Surely they haven't been tenting it in the woods for three years," Emma said.

"No...maybe they're not staying in Storybrooke," David suggested.

"Because most of the real estate is owned by Mr. Gold and Granny would have told us if Greg was hanging around her Inn," Emma surmised. He nodded.

"Then they could be staying in any number of Kingdoms. All the hotels and Inns are modernized now," Snow realized.

"And most of the homes for rent too," Emma added.

"Damn...finding them might be harder than we thought," David said. Emma smirked, as she got an idea.

"Or maybe not," she said, as they looked at her.

"The Author...Annie said that they've been recording footage of magic for the last three years. So...let's give them something to record and use a little of their own technology against them by setting up cameras right on Main street," Emma said. They smiled at her.

"What did you have in mind?" David asked. Their daughter smiled.

"Follow me," he said, as they followed her with the double stroller in tow and the babies.

"Our daughter is genius," Snow said to him. He smiled.

"Like her mother," he agreed.

Arthur stormed into his castle, still livid and seething about what had just occurred at the most recent Council meeting.

"I can't believe this!" he hissed, as he paced his Throne room.

"Sire...just say the word and we will rally Camelot's army if you wish to declare war on Misthaven," Sir Gawain stated.

"Yes...we stand with you, my King," Sir Tristan added.

"Then you'd be going into sure defeat!" Arthur hissed.

"Weren't you paying attention?" he raged.

"King David now holds a sword that was reforged by the Promethean flame. It now rivals Excalibur, if not surpasses its power," he said.

"But no other mortal weapon can defeat Excalibur," Gawain said, horrified by the possibility.

"One can when Excalibur is not complete," Arthur reminded, as he looked at his broken sword.

"Not to mention that he has the backing of the Gods," he added.

"My love...perhaps we do nothing. King David seems reluctant to go to war with us," Guinevere said.

"But he will. He thinks my rule is unjust and that our people need freed from me," he reminded.

"That's absurd...the people of Camelot will not stand for it," Tristan offered.

"He's right...Camelot stands with you, my King," Gawain added. And thanks to the sands of Avalon, that was true. But now that the flame had chosen David and his daughter, who happened to be the illustrious Savior, he knew that they had the power to discover how to release his people from the effects of the sands. They hadn't discovered how yet, but he knew they would come here when they did. And that was why he had to stop them.

"No...we must find a way to reforge Excalibur. We must force King David or his beloved daughter to use the Promethean flame for our benefit," Arthur said.

"How do we do that?" Guinevere asked.

"He already refused to reforge Excalibur at the cost of the Dark One's life," she added.

"Yes...but if he was forced to choose between them, say the life of one of his young children or his wife, he would choose them over the Dark One. Any good husband and father would," Arthur said.

"Arthur...not a child," Guinevere admonished in horror.

"I will not resort to that unless I am forced. But he would choose his beloved wife over anyone else. He gave her half his own heart, after all," Arthur said.

"But she is the daughter of Persephone. Such a plot will not be easy to enact," Gawain replied.

"No...it will not. We will need help from other magical sources. It may be time to make some new alliances," Arthur said, as he gazed out the window over his Kingdom.

"And with the right help and resources...we can and will succeed. I will not be denied my birthright and our research will continue," he said.

"We will find the answers we seek," he added, as they followed him to do just that, leaving Guinevere to watch him leave her side again in one of his endless quests.

Greg popped into the small house they had been renting in a small Misthaven village for the past three years.

"What are you doing?" he asked his roommate, as he saw Landon packing up his camera.

"Haven't you heard? I guess there's a Dragon terrorizing Storybrooke. This will make for some great footage," he said. Greg sighed.

"You have enough footage. Have your heard from your friend at the bureau?" Greg asked.

"Yeah...the coordinates we gave them naturally show that it's in the middle of the Maine wilderness. So they're not believing there's any town here. Unless we can present them a suspect in front of them, they're not going to come. Unless...we show them that there's something here. Thus why we need as much footage possible," Landon reasoned.

"They're never going to believe it's real footage," Greg said.

"Maybe not at first, but they'll get their best people on it and they will determine that it's not fabricated. Then they'll want to talk," Landon replied. Greg sighed.

"You better be right...I've waited too long for justice," he snapped, as they left the house and headed for Storybrooke.

The guard unlocked the cell block door, letting Persephone and Hades through the gate. The pair approached their intended destination and looked on through the cell at Circe herself.

"Well, well...it's not every day that I get visitors. Let alone visitors from such high and mighty rulers," she drawled.

"We're here to talk to you about something very important," Persephone said sternly.

"Oh my...the Supreme Goddess wants to speak to little old me?" Circe mocked.

"This is a waste of time," Hades said, having little patience for this woman's antics. But his wife put a hand up and continued.

"Your father has apparently been quite busy in the outside world, but then you know that, don't you?" she questioned. She hummed.

"He might have mentioned it here and there," she answered flippantly.

"If your father has left Storybrooke...then he would not have done so without having a way back in. You need to tell us how he is getting back into Storybrooke and who is he bringing with him," Persephone demanded.

"I'm not telling you anything unless I get something out of it," Circe responded.

"You're not getting out of here. That's not even on the table," Hades refuted.

"Well, then I guess you'll have to chase down dear old dad yourselves," Circe said, as she laid back on her cot and gave them a smug glare. Persephone pursed her lips and contemplated their options, until she felt her husband's hand on her arm.

"We don't need her to figure this out. I think I might have another idea," he said, as he glared back at her. Persephone gave her one last stern look, before they walked away. Letting Circe go free was not an option, no matter what she might know. They would have to explore other avenues to get the information they were seeking.

The dragon roared and David rolled away from the fire being breathed down upon him. Snow fired a few arrows, but they failed to make any kind of impact, as she dodged the dragon's tail.

"We need to lure her away from town," Emma said.

"Great idea...but not really sure how to do that, Em. She clearly wants to destroy the town," David replied.

"Unreal…" Landon said, as he filmed the footage from the alleyway near the square.

"When this goes viral...I'm going to be rich," he said and Greg rolled his eyes.

"If anyone believes this is real, which they won't," he reminded.

"Not true...all the footage I've collected is irrefutable and soon these woods will be crawling with law enforcement and civilians alike. And when I let people in, you can get the cops to arrest the woman that killed your father and I can charge admission to all the curious civilians," he boasted.

"That's going to be pretty hard to do from inside a prison cell," a voice said, as they froze and then looked behind them, finding Snow White there with an arrow trained on them.

"What?" Landon said in confusion, as they watched the dragon disappear in a puff of magenta smoke and a woman reappear in place of the dragon. David sheathed his sword, as Lancelot moved into cuff both Greg and Landon.

"Thanks for helping with the ruse," Snow said to Maleficent.

"We all have children to protect and neither of us welcomes the idea of outsiders," the dragon Queen said, as Regina sided up to her.

"You…" Greg hissed.

"You should have just left town when you had the chance three years ago," Regina stated.

"You killed my father!" Greg cried, as he struggled against the cuffs.

"You're going to lock me up while she walks free?!" he shouted.

"That's exactly what they're going to do, but they won't get away with it. You have no legal reason to put me away. I haven't done anything," Landon challenged.

"You're a threat to my family...to every family here. The author told us what you've been doing, but we're not going to let you release any of that footage to the world," David refuted. Landon smirked.

"Too late, chisel chin. It's already done," he goaded, as he showed him his phone.

"All my footage, the reports, and information I've gathered just went live," he boasted. David grabbed his phone and smashed it on the ground. The former detective rolled his eyes.

"Smashing it isn't going to change that," Landon said derisively.

"Maybe not, but we're not going to let you do anymore damage," David retorted.

"Most aren't going to believe any of that footage is real. I know what people are like in the Land Without Magic. Unless it's smacking them in the face, they'll never believe in magic. And even then, it would be questionable," Emma said. He shrugged.

"Maybe...maybe not. But the FBI has identified the remains of Greg's father and the lure of closing the case might draw them here," Landon warned.

"Doesn't matter…they can't get in," Emma refuted, as she cuffed him.

"You hope," he leered, as she marched him and David followed her with Greg in tow.

"I can't believe this! You go on about justice and yet my father's murderer walks free!" he yelled.

"Regina may not have served time in prison, but she has paid for her crimes in other ways. She's come a long way in repenting for those crimes," Snow declared.

"Oh save your hope speeches, princess!" Greg snapped and David whipped him around, grabbing him by the collar.

"She is Queen of Misthaven and Storybrooke. Show some respect," David said.

"Fat chance of that happening," Greg snapped in return.

"Look...I actually do understand where you're coming from. Captain Hook killed my father, but he gave up his revenge and became a better man. I was able to forgive him and I can tell you that it lifted a huge weight off me once I did," David advised.

"Thanks for the advice, but you got your father back. I didn't," Greg reminded.

"You have everything...literally everything. We have nothing in common. You have it all!" he raged.

"You're right...I do have it all. I have an amazing and stunningly beautiful wife, true love, children...everything. But that does not mean you cannot have the same things. But you won't have them with revenge in your heart," David warned.

"Oh but it does!" he said, as he looked around at everyone that the spectacle had drawn and his eyes noticed the author and her brother.

"I've read Henry's book and what does it say, author?" he questioned, but she didn't answer, because she knew he was being rhetorical.

"It says that villains don't get happy endings! VILLIANS!" he shouted.

"Except that everyone standing here knows that's a load of crap!" he continued.

"Because the villains DO get happy endings!" he called.

"The Evil Queen...Rumpelstiltskin...Captain Hook. They all got their happy endings. They killed probably hundreds and committed just as many other atrocities, but yet they found true love. They have children and happiness now and live in lavish castles!" he ranted.

"Villains do get happy endings!" he announced.

"Even Maleficent and your evil twin brother got happy endings," Greg spat at him.

"And they got their happy endings, because of your so-called heroes, people!" he shouted.

"They didn't really give up their revenge! No...they just conceded to these heroes, because they knew it would get them what they wanted!" he continued.

"They told Snow White and Prince Charming that they were sorry and these two ate it up like cake," he said, as David glared at him and they heard commotion spreading through the gathered crowd at his words.

"The villains learned that if they repented to the heroes that all the doors would open for them and it worked. So the book is wrong! Villains do get happy endings! They have fooled these heroes and fooled you! Because people don't really change...least of all the Evil Queen or Rumpelstiltskin!" he hissed.

"You're wrong…" Snow refuted.

"No I'm not, Your Majesty," he snapped.

"Even Hades himself got a happy ending! Your beloved Snow White forgave his atrocities as well!" he announced, furthering riling up the crowd.

"He has changed! They all have and they earned their happy endings!" Snow shouted back, but the crowd seemed too riled by Greg Mendell's speech.

"Your sentiments are endearing, Queen Snow...sweet even. But like you, they are a fairy tale. Because villains do get happy endings. You should change the book, author," he said, looking at Annie, who looked none too pleased by his words either.

"But do you know who doesn't get happy endings?" he shouted to the crowd.

"Us!" he cried.

"The normal people! The peons! The background players that no one pays any mind to!" he called.

"Because we're too busy getting screwed over by the heroes and villains alike!" he shouted.

"That's enough from you," David growled, as he started marching him toward the station.

"You all know I'm right!" he called.

"We're just bit players. I can't wield Excalibur or the Promethean flame like our valiant Prince Charming here," he said.

"I'm not the child of Persephone or the Savior born from the truest love in all the lands!" he continued to rant.

"We're peons...we don't get happy endings, because we're barely blips on the radar in that book," he added.

"You could have found happiness. That's the difference between you and Regina. She let go of revenge and then found love. You could have too," David told him.

"Keep telling yourself that, handsome. Just don't compare us again. Because I'm not Prince Charming...you are. You'll lock me up and be hailed as a hero. Then you'll return to that beautiful wife and those precious children and that perfect little family. And I'll rot in a prison cell for trying to prove my father's murder. That's real justice," he said sarcastically, as he and Landon were led to jail.

But as Snow, Regina, and the others looked around, they wondered if his words truly had an impact. There would always be some dissension, but if people truly started to believe they didn't matter, then Snow worried about her people.

"He made a lot of good points, as much as I hate to admit it," Regina whispered to her. She swallowed thickly.

"I don't believe that…" she refuted.

"Snow…" Regina started to admonish.

"I don't...I won't. You've changed and not because you conceded to us. You did it, because it was right. You did it for family and Henry, but most importantly...yourself," Snow said, hoping she was loud enough for most to hear, even as they had all started to disperse with weary looks upon them in passing.

"We just have to make them see that Greg is wrong," she added.

"And how do you plan to do that?" Maleficent questioned.

"Because at the end of the day...you're Snow White and we're still the Evil Queen and Maleficent to many of them. Greg Mendell's words didn't just plant these thoughts in the dissenters. He doesn't have that kind of power or presence," the dragon Queen continued.

"His words only awakened thoughts that were already in anyone that agrees with him," she concluded.

"Maybe so...but we'll find a way. We always do and we'll always have critics. We know that, but he's wrong. People do change," she said.

"And those that want to see it will," she added.

"And for those that don't...we'll always be what we are. Villains," Maleficent said, as she disappeared in a puff of smoke before Snow could say anything else.

"Don't mind her...she's naturally leery of most people," Regina said.

"Quite the crowd," Hades mentioned, as he and Persephone arrived. Snow hurried to them and hugged them both.

"Oh…" Persephone said in surprise, but then hugged her daughter tightly. Hades did as well, while Eli approached, having been there to witness the spectacle as well.

"What is it, snowdrop?" Persephone asked, as Hades hugged her tightly. Snow shook her head.

"I let Greg Mendell get under my skin and I shouldn't have," she said. Persephone looked at her ex and he nodded.

"Greg Mendell and his friend made quite a spectacle. You can watch the whole thing, I'm sure. People were recording it on their phones," Eli said.

"And worse...his friend claimed that he leaked all his footage and information before David smashed his phone. Supposedly, it's all out there on the Internet. There's no telling what kind of ramifications it's going to have," Regina added. Hades rolled his eyes.

"No one believes in anything in this land. They'll think it's some amateurishly made movie or something," Hades said.

"That's what Emma said...but apparently, they sent Kurt Flynn's remains to the FBI lab and they have been positively identified. We might soon have the woods crawling with law enforcement and civilians alike," Emma said, as she and David returned. Snow went to him and he hugged her tightly, as he pressed a kiss to her hair.

"But...they can't get into Storybrooke, right?" Henry asked, as he arrived with James and Regina put her arm around him.

"I'm hoping the answer is no. Did you get anything from that witch?" Regina asked. Persephone shook her head.

"She'll only talk if we set her free and we cannot do that under any circumstance. But Mushu is out there and he's as slippery as his serpent form would suggest," the Goddess said.

"She's right...he wouldn't have left Storybrooke if he didn't have a way to get back in. I'm almost certain of it," Hades agreed.

"Then there's no telling who he could let in. We really could have buses driving down Main Street soon or worse," David said.

"Yes...but I think I might know how to prevent that," Hades replied.

"How?" Eli asked.

"We don't wait for them to come to us. We go to them," Hades replied.

"You mean...out there?" James questioned. He nodded.

"We find Mushu and this Order of the Jackal. We go to them," Hades said, as he looked to the author.

"Do you know where their base of operations is?" he asked. Annie and Adrian nodded.

"We do...but you have to understand that the pen has absolutely no power to change or fix anything that happens in the Land Without Magic," she warned. He nodded.

"We understand. But I think you all misunderstand. I don't want to go to the Land Without Magic, at least not yet," he said and they looked confused.

"I want to go straight to the man himself, before we go to the base out there. We're going to find a way to the Land of Untold Stories. It's time I have a chat with Dr. Jekyll himself," Hades added.

"Going to the head of it...that makes sense. He's the main head of this Hydra so to speak," Persephone agreed.

"Just so you know...I don't have any power in the Land of Untold Stories either. People go there to pause their stories indefinitely. I'm expressly forbidden to meddle there," Annie warned again.

"We understand," Hades assured.

"Okay...so we get a bean from Anton and be on our way," Emma said.

"It's not that simple," Persephone said, with a wince.

"What do you mean?" David asked.

"She means that you can't portal into the Land of Untold Stories. Only with one of the rare keys to it can you enter," Hades answered.

"Okay...so how do we find one of these keys?" Emma asked.

"I may know where one is…" Hades revealed, as they listened closely.

The Land of Untold Stories

The tall, dark skinned man stormed through the barracks in the asylum. He was used to the moaning and screaming of the asylum's unwell patients and if he was affected by their screams and moans of sheer misery and insanity, he did not show it.

Upon entering his Master's lab, he witnessed a familiar scene. Dr. Jekyll was in the middle of another painstaking experiment and his current test subject struggled with the restraints, as they struggled to get free. But he had fastened those restraints himself and knew there was no give.

"Easy...there is nothing to fear," Jekyll assured, as he mixed his potion and added the new ingredient he had acquired. It turned the desired color that he wanted and he swirled the vial.

"Excellent...perhaps this is the one. Now to test it," he said, as he motioned to Mr. Poole, who came forward and held the victim's head still, allowing the doctor to pour the liquid down the man's throat. They stepped back then and watched the man convulse and squeal in painful agony, as he started to separate.

"Yes…" Jekyll said, as his eyes gleamed with a twisted glee behind his thin rimmed glasses. The convulsions and spasms became violent and the man threw up blood, as the machine monitoring his heart beeped wildly. The man then collapsed to the table, as he flat lined and the doctor slammed his fists on the table.

"Dammit…" he growled, as he experienced yet another failure.

"What am I missing?" he lamented, as Mr. Poole covered the body with a sheet and proceeded to wheel the unfortunate victim out. He rubbed his temples. Another headache was coming on and he was no closer to a solution once more. But he would continue his search and his quest for knowledge...

21 Goals of the Illuminati and The Committee of 300 by Dr. John Coleman (ca. 1993)

1. To establish a One World Government/New World Order with a unified church and monetary system under their direction. The One World Government began to set up its church in the 1920:s and 30:s, for they realized the need for a religious belief inherent in mankind must have an outlet and, therefore, set up a "church" body to channel that belief in the direction they desired.

2. To bring about the utter destruction of all national identity and national pride, which was a primary consideration if the concept of a One World Government was to work.

3. To engineer and bring about the destruction of religion, and more especially, the Christian Religion, with the one exception, their own creation, as mentioned above.

4. To establish the ability to control of each and every person through means of mind control and what Zbignew Brzezinski called techonotronics, which would create human-like robots and a system of terror which would make Felix Dzerzinhski's Red Terror look like children at play.

5. To bring about the end to all industrialization and to end the production of nuclear generated electric power in what they call " the post-industrial zero-growth society". Excepted are the computer- and service industries. US industries that remain will be exported to countries such as Mexico where abundant slave labor is available. As we saw in 1993, this has become a fact through the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement, known as NAFTA. Unemployables in the US, in the wake of industrial destruction, will either become opium-heroin and/or cocaine addicts, or become statistics in the elimination of the "excess population" process we know of today as Global 2000.

6. To encourage, and eventually legalize the use of drugs and make pornography an "art-form", which will be widely accepted and, eventually, become quite commonplace.

7. To bring about depopulation of large cities according to the trial run carried out by the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. It is interesting to note that Pol Pot's genocidal plans were drawn up in the US by one of the Club of Rome's research foundations, and overseen by Thomas Enders, a high-ranking State Department official. It is also interesting that the committee is currently seeking to reinstate the Pol Pot butchers in Cambodia.

8. To suppress all scientific development except for those deemed beneficial by the Illuminati. Especially targeted is nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Particularly hated are the fusion experiments currently being scorned and ridiculed by the Illuminati and its jackals of the press. Development of the fusion torch would blow the Illuminati's conception of "limited natural resources" right out of the window. A fusion torch, properly used, could create unlimited and as yet untapped natural resources, even from the most ordinary substances. Fusion torch uses are legion, and would benefit mankind in a manner which, as yet, is not even remotely comprehended by the public.

9. To cause. by means of A) limited wars in the advanced countries, 😎 by means of starvation and diseases in the Third World countries, the death of three billion people by the year 2050, people they call "useless eaters". The Committee of 300 (Illuminati) commissioned Cyrus Vance to write a paper on this subject of how to bring about such genocide. The paper was produced under the title " Global 2000 Report" and was accepted and approved for action by former President James Earl Carter, and Edwin Muskie, then Secretary of States, for and on behalf of the US Government. Under the terms of the Global 2000 Report, the population of the US is to be reduced by 100 million by the year of 2050.

10. To weaken the moral fiber of the nation and to demoralize workers in the labor class by creating mass unemployment. As jobs dwindle due to the post industrial zero growth policies introduced by the Club of Rome, the report envisages demoralized and discouraged workers resorting to alcohol and drugs. The youth of the land will be encouraged by means of rock music and drugs to rebel against the status quo, thus undermining and eventually destroying the family unit. In this regard, the Committee commissioned Tavistock Institute to prepare a blueprint as to how this could be achieved. Tavistock directed Stanford Research to undertake the work under the direction of Professor Willis Harmon. This work later became known as the " Aquarian Conspiracy".

11. To keep people everywhere from deciding their own destinies by means of one created crisis after another and then "managing" such crises. This will confuse and demoralize the population to the extent where faced with too many choices, apathy on a massive scale will result. In the case of the US, an agency for Crisis Management is already in place. It is called the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), whose existence I first enclosed in 1980.

12. To introduce new cults and continue to boost those already functioning which include rock music gangsters such as the Rolling Stones (a gangster group much favored by European Black Nobility), and all of the Tavistock-created rock groups which began with the Beatles.

13. To continue to build up the cult of Christian Fundamentalism begun by the British East India Company's servant Darby, which will be misused to strengthen the Zionist State of Israel by identifying with the Jews through the myth of "God's chosen people", and by donating very substantial amounts of money to what they mistakenly believe is a religious cause in the furtherance of Christianity.

14. To press for the spread of religious cults such as the Moslem Brotherhood, Moslem Fundamentalism, the Sikhs, and to carry out mind control experiments of the Jim Jones and "Son of Sam" type. It is worth noting that the late Khomeini was a creation of British Military Intelligence Div. 6, MI6. This detailed work spelled out the step-by-step process which the US Government implemented to put Khomeini in power.

15. To e xport "religious liberation" ideas around the world so as to undermine all existing religions, but more especially the Christian religion. This began with the "Jesuit Liberation Theology", that brought an end to the Somoza Family rule in Nicaragua, and which today is destroying El Salvador, now 25 years into a "civil war". Costa Rica and Honduras are also embroiled in revolutionary activities, instigated by the Jesuits. One very active entity engaged in the so-called liberation theology, is the Communist-oriented Mary Knoll Mission. This accounts for the extensive media attention to the murder of four of Mary Knoll's so-called nuns in El Salvador a few years ago. The four nuns were Communist subversive agents and their activities were widely documented by the Government of El Salvador. The US press and the new media refused to give any space or coverage to the mass of documentation possessed by the Salvadorian Government, which proved what the Mary Knoll Mission nuns were doing in the country. Mary Knoll is in service in many countries, and placed a leading role in bringing Communism to Rhodesia, Moçambique, Angola and South Africa.

16. To cause a total collapse of the world's economies and engender total political chaos.

17. To take control of all foreign and domestic policies of the US.

18. To give the fullest support to supranational institutions such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Bank of International Settlements, the World Court and, as far as possible, make local institutions less effective, by gradually phasing them out or bringing them under the mantle of the UN.

19. To penetrate and subvert all governments, and work from within them to destroy the sovereign integrity of the nations represented by them.

20. To organize a world-wide terrorist apparatus [Al-queda, ISIS, ISIL, etc.] and to negotiate with terrorists whenever terrorist activities take place. It will be recalled that it was Bettino Craxi, who persuaded the Italian and US Governments to negotiate with the Red Brigades kidnapers of Prime Minister Moro and General Dozier. As an aside, Dozier was placed under strict orders not to talk what happened to him. Should he ever break that silence, he will no doubt be made "a horrible example of", in the manner in which Henry Kissinger dealt with Aldo Moro, Ali Bhutto and General Zia ul Haq.

21. To take control of education in America with the intent and p urpose of utterly and completely destroying it. By 1993, the full force effect of this policy is becoming apparent, and will be even more destructive as primary and secondary schools begin to teach " Outcome Based Education" (OBE).

Builder Ed Christie

Edward Gustav “Ed” Christie (b. May 20, 1956) is a puppet designer and builder who has worked with Sesame Street and Henson Associates since an internship with Henson in 1978. Christie graduated from UMass/Amherst with a BFA/Education in 1979.

The first Muppet Christie created was Butch, originally designed as a sabertooth tiger used in the “Toothbrush” skit of the Caveman Days series on Sesame Street.

After years of learning Muppet design techniques, and building many of the classic Muppet characters, he was promoted to Muppet Supervisor in charge of Sesame Street (1991-1996). He was later promoted to Vice President/NY Muppet Workshop Supervisor (1997-2004) as well as Art Director for Henson on Sesame Street. He also contributed his skills to Henson Licensing and Publishing.

In 2004, Christie left Henson and was contracted by Sesame Workshop where he is currently designing characters for the domestic version of Sesame Street and Sesame Street International. He has designed the Muppet characters for Sesame in the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Russia, Israel, South Africa, Egypt, China, Poland, France, Mexico, Canada, Japan and others. Christie is featured in the 2006 documentary The World According to Sesame Street.

He has won eight Emmy Awards for his work on Sesame Street and many nominations for other Henson productions. Christie’s work was also seen in the Broadway productions of Doonesbury, Peter Pan, Sugar Babies and Encores! Carnival. He also designed, built and performed in the 2007 production of Carnival! at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. From December 5 to January 25, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum displayed the exhibit Rods and Monsters: the Puppets of Ed Christie.

Christie lives on Cape Cod and is an artist represented by the Alden Gallery in Provincetown, MA

Hobbies and Talents -Drawing, reading, finding more ways to make medicine Backstory: In the very beginning Long ago about 4,000 years, there was a tribe of Mexican brown bats called, “La Tribu Escondida” (The Hidden Tribe in Spanish). They had a beautiful goddess of healing named Paramecia, who only appeared to them when they needed her magical healing ability to heal the sick and injured by saying a little prayer to her: “Oh mística diosa de la curación, venga a nosotros en nuestra hora de necesidad, bañarnos en tu luz de gloria y cura nuestras almas. Paramecia, surgir!” (“Oh mystical goddess of healing, come forth to us in our hour of need, bathe us in your light of glory and heal our souls. Paramecia, arise!”) Once this prayer is said, Paramecia will show herself to her followers and heed their call. Being a tribe not interested in fighting like their Goddess, they were left very vulnerable to outside predators. This led to search for willing neighboring tribes to partner with. The tribe sent out two scouting bats to search the area for friendly neighbors. The first few tries weren’t successful but soon they came upon a village down by the stream filled with Long Eared Hedgehogs. They seemed on edge at first, but once they saw there was only two bats and were unarmed they eased up and tried to communicate with the bats. After some time learning each other’s culture and languages, they were able to come to an agreement. The bats will gain protection from anyone wanting to attack them plus jewelry the hedgehogs were very skilled in making, and in turn for that they will help keep the hedgehog warriors in tip top shape and heal anyone that is injured or ill. For several years everything was fine and they lived in peace with one another. Until a neighboring tribe, The Knuckles Clan, sought to take the goddess away. They had heard of her mystic healing ability and sought the power for their own selfish gain. The Hidden Tribe, wishing not to fight, but also refusing to give up their precious healing god, sent two bats to warn the Knuckles clan, that if the goddesses’ power was abused she would die. Due to the ambition of the clan, this message was not able to be carried out and the two bats never returned. Paramecia was alerted by the spirits of the fallen there was little time to prepare for an attack. The Knuckles clan had sent a group of warriors to attack the bat village, just as she expected. In desperate attempt, the bat tribe called to their goddess of healing to protect them. Paramecia set up a temporary shield to protect her followers and push back the forces of the Knuckles clan, but her shield won’t hold out for long. There were a few Long Eared Hedgehogs in the village when the knuckles clan attacked, they prepared for battle as soon as the shield went down. For days, the bloody war went on between the Long Eared Hedgehogs and the Echidnas. Paramecia and the bats did the best they could to help the warriors, but their adversaries were relentless. The Long Eared Hedgehogs were losing their ground fast, they knew they weren’t as strong as these echidnas. Until they finally broke through the defenses and into the bat village. Attacking and killing anyone that got in their way. Paramecia was cornered and unsure of what to do now, she apologized to her superiors for what she was about to do. With her arms open wide, her mystical light showered the raging echidnas coming at her, she took the lives away from every single echidna there, including the lives of the fallen bats and hedgehogs. The positive lives she took wasn’t enough to purify the anger and hatred the echidnas had, she couldn’t control them. Unable to return their energy back to the earth, Paramecia was transformed into a raging spirit, corrupted with sadness, anger, and hate. She attacked her own followers and her hedgehog allies. Taking lives away and destroying homes. Her rage didn’t last long as a divine light showered down on her, it was the God Apollo her great-great grandfather. He punished her by stripping her down to a small child, filled with innocence and purity and sealed her away in a diamond. As part of the punishment, Paramecia can’t come out of her diamond and only radiate her healing through it to heal whoever needs it. He then handed the diamond to the Bat chief; Yatzil, to care for it. The bats and hedgehogs still traumatized by what happened, put the diamond away in a cave, guarding it so no one can steal it or miss use it. When healing is needed, one or two visitors are allowed in the cave. Over time, the next generations grew distant from the goddess of healing for their own peruse of medical herbs and first aid. They considered moving away to a new location, and since it’s been awhile since their last journey to the cave they had forgotten in which cave the healing goddess was concealed in. So they left without her and only told stories of the past to the next generation of bats to come of the goddess and the heroics of the Long Eared Hedgehogs. Fast Forward to several centuries later… A young bat named Bruno loved listening to the stories of his ancestors. He fantasized about finding Paramecia, which the other bats laughed at. Bruno wasn’t worried, as he trained for his adventure with the help of his girlfriend Conchita. One day, a plague swept the village. Their arts couldn’t cure it, causing many deaths. And though Bruno was among the few who were safe, Conchita wasn’t so lucky. Lives were now at stake, including hers. Bruno followed old maps to the ancient bat civilization in his search for the healing goddess. He searched for days among vegetation and caves, but couldn’t find the diamond the goddess was sealed in. Bruno nearly gave up, until he recalled a prayer in the old stories. After chanting the prayer, Bruno followed the glow of a soft green light that appeared near the summit of the mountain. He found the diamond inside a cave but slipped as he exited. The diamond shattered on the ground and the healing spirit was released. She embedded herself into his body and overwhelmed him. When Bruno woke up, he saw the shattered diamond and cried in grief. A burning sensation in his hands snapped him out of it, as he noticed he now possessed the healing power. With new hope in his heart, he returned to the village and cured everyone. Bruno married Conchita and became the village doctor, taking care of the bats for years. But he fell ill before his son was born, as overuse of the powers finally claimed his life. The loss of their healer devastated the villagers, who called it a ‘curse’ for abandoning Paramecia. Almost a year later, Bruno’s son Cezar was born. As time passed he displayed his late father’s healing power at an early age, but his mother told him to keep it in check and the village bats avoided him, fearing the ‘curse of Paramecia’. Cezar grew up healthy and studied to be a certified doctor, but years of oppression got to him. So he left the village in search of a new home where he would be accepted. Cezar’s travels took him to Royal Hill Zone, a town in the West Side Island that was run by the Kingdom of Acorns. There, he met a lovely long eared hedgehog with a royal sash. Her name was Marie and she introduced herself as the weapons designer for the kingdom. She invited Cezar to join the army as their doctor, a chance Cezar was eager to take. Cezar proved himself to King Nigel Acorn the next day and was hired into the army afterwards. With his new found purpose, he created a name for himself among the new town as time passed. Times were peaceful when Cezar joined, until one tragic day. Dr. Robotnik, the kingdom’s commander, had turned traitor. He secretly built an army of animal-powered robots and taken Sir Charles’ Roboticizer, weaponizing it for evil purposes. A great war followed and the kingdom fell, forcing King Nigel to hide with his people in Knothole village as the Acorn army suffered heavy losses. The survivors didn’t know how to attack the robots without hurting the animals or former allies. Jules and Lena, two married hedgehogs in the army, figured out a way to stop their enemies without hurting them. The army regained the upper hand and drove Robotnik’s forces from their sanctuary, then fought him for years until he was seemingly defeated. Peace swept through the land at last. Ties That Bind Us Comic Issue 1: After peace returned to the land, Lena falls ill. Jules discovers that his wife is pregnant and they retired from military duty to raise their baby. The two hedgehogs wonder if it was the right decision, as they worried that Robotnik may return. 5 months later, Lena and Jules were expecting their baby when Robotnik attacked Knothole Village with a new robot army. The hedgehogs fight back alongside Marie, but a stray bomb nearly kills Lena and her baby. Jules takes his wife and unborn child to the military medic, hoping to save them. Cezar’s powerful healing ability didn’t seem to be enough. Desperate to save Lena, Cezar pulls out a chaos emerald and amplifies his power. This unexpected trick manages to save Lena’s life and she delivers her baby one month later with no complications. (You can read this issue in my gallery under The Ties That Bind Us tab) The born baby, now named Sonic, showed signs of high velocity when crawling, walking, and running. Concerned, Jules and Lena took him to Cezar for an explanation of this strange behavior. Cezar concluded that, when he used the chaos emerald to save Lena’s life, Sonic’s DNA must have been infused with its energy. Cezar reassures the couple that their baby is healthy and shows no complications with this power of speed. Sonar’s Story Begins: With their worries put to rest, Marie announced that she was finally pregnant. In the middle of celebrations, Cezar announces his plan to return home with his family. King Acorn granted him approval to build a hospital clinic in the bat village and, should Robotnik attack again, Cezar’s family would be safer there. The two hedgehogs knew that this was for the best. After saying their goodbyes, they moved back to Mystic Ruins. 6 months passed, the hospital clinic was ready for services and another baby was born. A hybrid of a bat and long eared hedgehog, with huge deep brown ears. A small bundle of joy, named Sonar. The first few months were fine, but the hospital needed full attention from her parents. Marie was the technician keeping the machines running properly, while Cezar was the doctor performing miracles and surgeries. They focused on the patients staying there, but didn’t have time to raise their little girl. Cezar’s mother, Conchita, stepped in to help raise Sonar. She learned to speak Spanish as her first language, picking up English when her mother was home in the evenings. One day, Cezar noticed Sonar didn’t show his trademark healing ability. He tried to show her how to bring out this power, but she simply didn’t have it in her. Disappointed in this realization, Cezar just gave lessons to Sonar about first aid, emergencies and picking herbs to keep her busy and away from him. At 2 years of age Sonar displayed excellent knowledge of plants to make elixirs. She was happy to learn and make her father proud, but Cezar just pointed out her mistakes and got mad over missed details. He rarely noticed Sonar’s hard work. It made her feel worthless to him. 2 years later, life changed for the worst. Conchita passed away, so Sonar now had to visit the hospital every day so her parents could keep an eye on her. Kids in the neighborhood picked on her, destroying her herbs. And though she befriended some sick kids, they didn’t have the energy to play with her for long. Sonar felt completely alone, holding on to her grandmother’s heart earrings to remember her by. Even with odds against her, Sonar was determined to be the best doctor there ever was. So she spent most of her time reading about the Mobian body and drawing to the best of her ability. However, an evil force attacked the bat village one day. Big hairy wolves on the hunt for Sonar’s parents. Marie hid her daughter and told her to escape if they didn’t return. Sonar found herself in the village bunkers, with Cezar’s medic bag and Marie’s cloak. The assailants hailed from the Black Iron Kingdom and were hunting Cezar out of revenge. Once, he refused to heal their sick queen after the birth of her second son. Their king, Alfalo, held a grudge on Cezar for this and now sought to make his family suffer for condemning his kingdom. Cezar and Marie fought as hard as they could, but they were captured in the end. An hour later, the village was left in ruins but Sonar was still in the bunker. Her parents didn’t return, so now she had to escape by herself. She struggled for weeks in the wilderness, learning from experience. One day, however, she discovered a strange metallic capsule in a forest. She approached it only to be captured, leaving her stranded again. She couldn’t break free, but her screams alerted a certain blue hedgehog. He saved Sonar and introduced himself as Sonic, but called her ‘Noisy’ over those screams. Sonar claimed she didn’t want his help and argued with him over attacking robots due to the animals trapped inside them. They got off to a rocky start on their unexpected bond. As the years passed, Sonar began to manifest powers of her own. By saving animals from capsules and robots, she felt useful and grew closer to Sonic. However, one day a tense argument led to them going their separate ways, putting an end to their 4-year-long friendship. Sonic met new friends and embarked on adventures to stop Robotnik, while Sonar healed the sick and injured people in towns and villages. She constantly thought about her friend and regretted parting ways with him. Before she knew it, though, she caught the attention of the Black Iron Kingdom and was captured at last. Prince Henry took interest in Sonar when she arrived at the castle, but his father disapproved. King Alfalo hated Cezar for letting the queen die, so he ordered Henry to enslave Sonar and make her suffer in return. Henry was no stranger to abusing and dominating women, so Sonar was no exception. But being exposed to the castle’s dark energies also made her feel ill. She was too weak to resist the darkness as it twisted her mind. In time, she embraced Henry’s commands and abuse as a sign of love. At age 12, the darkness within Sonar evolved. Sensing new power within her, Henry gave her a simple order: Kill his father. This was her chance to get back at the King for all of his hatred towards her, so she gladly accepted. Henry watched as his father was suddenly eradicated, his life taken by Sonar’s darkness. She proved her love to him and he proposed to her in return. Soon, the Black Iron Kingdom had a new ruler and Sonar was at his side. She would become his Queen, feared by the slaves and respected by others. Any who opposed her would be vanquished like the former King, her dark heart could not be happier about the life she had now. But was she proud of herself? Before her heart could waver, Henry revealed that Sonar’s parents were being held in a lower chamber. She relished the opportunity to see them again, but it was no reunion. Like the fools at the castle, they had caused her so much pain in the past, and now she had the power to take revenge for what they did. Tried as they might have, they couldn’t reason with her as she smirked. In a flash, their souls were now hers. Nothing else remained. Sonar had come to enjoy her new life. She was soon to be the wife of a powerful ruler who she loved, despite how harshly he treated her sometimes. All that changed in a year, however, when a small female jackal arrived at the castle. She was abused by Henry and the guards, just like Sonar herself was. Memories stirred within her mind and she found herself running to the jackal’s side, intending to protect her from her would-be husband. Appalled by his future wife’s behavior, Henry ordered her to take the small jackal’s life or else. Sonar felt conflicted for the first time in so long, torn between the child’s safety and the true behavior of the man she loved. She couldn’t do it, so Henry forced her to wear special gloves that suppress her dark powers. Just like that, Sonar was a slave once again, forced to endure mockery and beatings from the Mobians who once feared her. Not even rolling into a ball kept her safe, as Henry had the guards rip out her back quills. All she could do was take the pain and promised the child, Kerry, that they would escape together someday. A year passed. Henry felt confident in arranging a wedding with Sonar after seeing she had become obedient once again. She no longer loved him and didn’t want to marry such a man, but she accepted to protect Kerry. As Sonar stepped to the altar, the castle shook. The dark energies stirred and the Mobians panicked as they feared for the Kingdom’s safety. Seizing the opportunity, Sonar took Kerry and ran away in the ensuing chaos. They left the Black Iron Kingdom behind, but Sonar kept the special gloves on, fearing the darkness within herself. She vowed never to use such powers again. A year of constant movement was rough for Sonar and Kerry, as they needed to avoid the Black Iron guards and so couldn’t afford much food or rest. They reached the outskirts of a city known as Spangonia, but were suddenly attacked by a scientist; none other than Eggman himself. He detected Sonar’s energy signature and forced her to cooperate for experiments by capturing Kerry. Not wanting to see her hurt or disappointed, Sonar waited out her fate, until a blue blur swept the room. Sonar and Kerry were free all of a sudden, so Eggman called in robots to attack the intruder he knew all too well; Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic easily defeated Eggman’s robots and took the girls to safety. Aboard an airship called the Sky Patrol, Sonar and Kerry met a group called the Freedom Fighters, rebels sworn to protect Mobius from Eggman. They suspected that he wanted the power within Sonar and vowed to keep her safe, even as she kept to herself and refused to talk to her new allies. With only Kerry’s confessions and Sonar’s troubled rest to go on, the team could only guess what horror she had to endure. As weeks passed, Sonar and Kerry felt more comfortable with the team and learned about events they missed out on during their slavery. One incident in particular was the global crisis caused by an ancient beast known as Dark Gaia. When Sonic and the Freedom Fighters defeated it, its darkness shook the world as balance was restored. As Sonar realized this allowed her to escape a year ago, Sonic recognized his childhood friend at last. He was excited to see her again, but his joy turned to sorrow when Sonar didn’t recognize him. Months had passed when Eggman suddenly launched a full-scale assault. The Freedom Fighters rushed to the scene but Eggman grabbed Sonar while they were distracted. Before she knew it, she was placed inside a machine that extracted her power. As her life was drained away, Sonar lamented not having a chance to be the doctor she always wanted to be. Sonic arrived just in time to break the machine, but instead of stopping the machine, it caused the dark energies to surge back into Sonar. Her gloves were destroyed in this surge and her body was overtaken by the darkness once more. Sonic blamed himself as Sonar escaped. By the time the Freedom Fighters caught up, Sonar had changed. She had grown sharp talons, bat wings and fangs. Her pupils were no longer visible and her body was engulfed in a dark arura. Wherever she flew, innocent lives disappeared. She spared no one, not even a small child who tried to remind her of a promise before her life was taken as well. Kerry’s last words were useless. As a desperate measure, survivors called upon a military force, the Guardian Units of Nations. The soldiers prepared to kill the monster, but Sonic still wanted to save her. He knew that Sonar’s rampage wasn’t her doing, but rather the lingering influence of Dark Gaia. Fortunately, the Freedom Fighters had a desperate measure of their own; the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic’s friends had the foresight to hold on to them for such emergencies. Harnessing their power, he transformed into Super Sonic and rushed at Sonar before the G.U.N soldiers opened fire. As the dust settled, Sonic and Sonar had disappeared. Sonar found herself in the arid sands of Shamar, far away from innocent people. She tried to defend herself from this golden warrior who dared to challenge her, but he was too fast for her. She struggled to fly away as she wasn’t use to her new wings and she couldn’t take the life she couldn’t catch. All she could do was to endure powerful blows as her energy depleted. She seized an opportunity to grab the warrior and tried to take his life with what little strength she had left. She locked hands with the warrior and Sonar got a good look at his face…something about it was familiar. Memories began to stir within Sonar and, moments before a powerful head-butt finally knocked her out, she recognized the warrior who stopped her… Sonic. As Sonar plummeted to the ground, the darkness lost its grip on her mind. She could now see the lives she had taken and feel their pain as if it was her own. Sonar no longer wanted them to suffer any more, so she apologized for everything she had done. The darkness manifested as the monster she had become in one last attempt to trap her, but Sonar had made up her mind by then. Super Sonic watched over the crater Sonar had created from her harsh landing. The dark aura surrounding Sonar vanished with one last pulse that overwhelmed Sonic and transformed him into a monster as well: a werehog shape he had taken during the crisis of Dark Gaia. Sonic resisted this familiar darkness as he saw many souls flowing from Sonar’s body. Soon both of them had returned to normal and Sonic took her back to his friends, watching as the souls flew into the distance. Back at Station Square, recovery efforts were already underway. Sonic explained to G.U.N. that Sonar was under the influence of Dark Gaia, like so many others in the past. Trusting Sonic’s experience in dealing with Dark Gaia, their general approved and Sonar was given proper healthcare for her injuries. Sonar returned to the Freedom Fighters after a few days of treatment, but people were still afraid. Sonar was tempted to run away in guilt, until Sonic told her about the souls that escaped her body. He felt that someday they would return after healing up, just like she did. So in order to redeem herself, she vowed to become what she always wanted to be; a real doctor. In order to help Sonar with her redemption, the Freedom Fighters recommended getting help from a proper expert in the medical field. Most doctors turned down the so-called monster, but one doctor in the city of Chun-Nan accepted the offer; Allure the Orchid Mantis. She saw a familiar potential in Sonar, who proved herself to be very smart in medical subjects, much like an old student of hers. Allure wanted to visit them at a hidden bat village years ago, but an invasion by the Black Iron Kingdom made her believe her student died. As Sonar told her about her time as a prisoner, both student and master realized who they were talking about: Sonar’s father, Cezar. After this realization, Sonar opened up about the abuse she endured as a child, especially at the hands of her own father. Allure realized Cezar had become bitter over trying to control the life of another but reassured Sonar that she already had the potential to be a better healer than her father, she was merely allowing her fears to hold her back. Over 2 years, Allure taught Sonar to care for others without hatred in her heart, to seek kindness rather than revenge and to forgive the fleeting pains of life. By the time Sonar completed her training, she felt alive once more. She couldn’t wait to return home and turn her life around. Promising to stay in touch with her master, Sonar returned to Royal Hill Zone. The Freedom Fighters welcomed her and helped her to fix up an old home, turning it into a clinic for Sonar to establish her new life. The team also had one more surprise for her as they took her to a new place; Sanctuary, a safe haven for young kids affected by warfare. Among those young kids was a familiar face… a small child who didn’t recognize Sonar at first, but whose tears fell just the same. For the first time in years, Sonar shared a hug with her first friend, Kerry. Over the next few months, Sonar received formal training to discover her potential as a Freedom Fighter. She learned how to control her speed, fight at close quarters and even various tricks with her voice. Life was finally looking up for Sonar, until the Freedom Fighters received an ultimatum from an old foe: the newly-crowned King of the Black Iron Kingdom; Henry. A transmission received by King Acorn requested a meeting with the Freedom Fighters at the Black Iron Castle, or else two prisoners would be murdered. Sonar recognized their faces… her parents were alive but far from safe. As memories of her past crawl into her mind, Sonar was determined to overcome her fears, save her parents and defeat Henry once and for all. The Sky Patrol approached the Black Iron castle at Scrap Brain Zone, when artillery suddenly opened fire. The Freedom Fighters split into two teams, with Sonar and Sonic leading one into the castle. Dark Gaia monsters ambushed the team, but Sonic’s friends decided to hold them off so he and Sonar could rush to the throne room. Soon they faced Henry, who wanted revenge for Dark Gaia’s defeat and the decaying state of his kingdom. While he planned to kill Sonic himself, Henry summoned a dark entity to keep Sonar busy. It looked just like her corrupted self and even sought to take over her body… but Sonar had no intention to run from the darkness this time. The two were evenly matched as they struggled for dominance. However, Sonar recalled a lesson from her master and realized fighting the monster would get her nowhere. So she stopped resisting and allowed it to engulf her. Instead of being consumed by the darkness, Sonar’s healing powers flowed from her body and purified the monster, allowing the darkness to return to its rightful place. Sonar was weakened by the battle, but she felt at peace for a brief moment as she returned to her friends. Unfortunately, Henry had embraced what darkness remained and became too powerful for Sonic to handle. During their struggle, Sonic was slammed into a pillar and part of the ceiling crumbled. Sunlight filtered into the throne room and vanquished one of the monsters. Now the other Freedom Fighters knew what they needed to do. Bunnie the cyborg rabbit fired her weapons at the ceiling so more sunlight could fill the room. Her husband protected her from the surviving monsters and Amy Rose swung her hammer around to take care of the resulting debris. Thanks to their teamwork, the monsters were vanquished and Henry was backed into the remaining shadows. Sonar pointed a tranquilizer gun at him, hoping to bring him to justice at last. But he simply laughed and vanished, claiming the battle wasn’t over yet. Suddenly the castle began to crumble and large chunks of debris fell on the team. Sonic and Sonar were able to avoid them and Bunnie blasted them out of the sky, but Amy and Antoine weren’t so lucky. The inhabitants of the Black Iron castle ran for their lives, but Sonar’s parents were nowhere in sight and Bunnie cried for the safety of her friends. Sonar panicked about what to do, but Sonic entrusted their lives to her as he ran. Sonar relaxed in the midst of the chaos and unleashed her power, saving Amy and Antoine from seemingly fatal injuries. They were impressed by Sonar’s healing powers and grateful for her help. She smiled and collapsed soon after, having exhausted herself at last. When Sonar finally woke up, the battle had ended. She was worried sick about her parents, but the Freedom Fighters comforted her as Sonic arrived, with Cezar and Marie in tow. Sonar felt overjoyed to see them alive and well, so the team backed off to let them have their long-awaited reunion. Sonar’s happiness turned to fear as she worried about what they thought of her, after everything she had done. Marie reassured Sonar that she fixed much more than she broke and Cezar apologized for not believing in Sonar sooner. They felt responsible for the abuse that had made their daughter this way… and yet, they were grateful to have each other again. Sonar couldn’t agree more. Sonar was one of the many heroes praised for their actions in ending the tyranny of the Black Iron Kingdom. Without their king, the guards surrendered. The slaves and maids were taken to hospitals for treatment. The darkness had vanished from Scrap Brain Zone and the world finally knew Sonar was more than just some monster. She was born a long-eared hedgehog, once a former servant of darkness, now a certified doctor. A redeemed hero. Sonar’s love life Past experiences taught Sonar not to open up about her feelings, out of fear of breaking her heart. Sonic was unlike any man she met, however. His humor, passion for life and fun-loving attitude made Sonar feel alive. She cherished their training sessions and couldn’t stop thinking about him even as she worked in her clinic. Sonar was hardly the only girl who felt this way about Sonic, though. He was constantly chased by other girls, Amy showed interest in him and even Sally herself used to date him. Sonar felt she had no chance with Sonic and so hid her desire for Sonic, feeling she would just cause fights with her teammates. One day, Sonic showed up at her clinic. He wanted to grab some ice cream in Apotos and Sonar took the chance, having just closed the clinic for the day. A seemingly calm night on the town felt awkward, as their emotions brought them closer. Sonic confessed to Sonar that he had been thinking about her for so long, that this was the first time since Sally that he felt so strongly for a girl. Sonar was thrilled to know he felt the same way, but worried she was just one of the many girls to Sonic. He simply laughed it off and reminded her of the difference: they chased him, but he sought her out. It was a choice guided by passion, like so many others Sonar had come to cherish form her blue hero. Neither of them knew exactly what to do next, so they just closed their eyes and embraced each other. It was an unforgettable night for Sonar… the first kiss with her beloved hero, the day their fates ran together. The feelings that trapped Sonar had set her free at last. Finally after 9 years it is done, her full out backstory. GEEZUS!!! But anyways, yeah, hope you enjoy and actually get to know and understand Sonar a lot better now.
