Curious. What did everyone else playing Builders 2 do after they finished Moonbrooke..?

Personally, I knocked down the entire castle (bar the throne room), stole the shiny new throne and put a toilet in its place lol

But yeah, I’d love to know how everyone else reacted as soon as that arc was over - or did you go back later post-game to dole out your justice? Lmaooo

Just finished Dragon Quest Builders 2. Hearing Malroth tell Hargon, "I hope in your next life you'll make a few friends" and having the priest then scoff at the idea of friendship and building for fun legit gave me an idea for a fanfic where Hargon is reincarnated as the female Builder and Malroth's child.

Now he's trapped in a sea of friendship and building with the expectations that he'll either become a great warrior like Malroth or become an amazing builder.

I think I might write it and then probably give up after 3 chapters like I always do but I gotta get it out of my brain somehow.

'Your Heart' and how it correlates to Builderoth

Started listening to IN2MINDS again, and happened to remember just how Builderoth coded this album was. So uh...*throws a Your Heart Builderoth analysis at you*

I'm going to preface this by saying that the song, in my mind, takes place from Malroth's point of view.

"So many nights I've watched you sleep/Tried to resist but it got so deep" - No matter platonic or romantic, all Malroth has grown to desire over the course of the game is the Builder.

"My soul is dark, I seized the night/But you're the angel that showed me the light/And I try to be strong but I still long for you" - Malroth has always been a creature of darkness. This is a fundamental part of who he is. No matter what, he always seems to return to darkness and destruction.

"You tamed the beast, I bleed for you/You showed me love, that's something I never knew/I'll take the blame, my life's a shame" - Malroth does anything for Builder. He dies for them, lies for them, even when he's sure they've betrayed him, he still loves them.

"Don't wait for me/I'll never be (a part of your world)" - Malroth being so sure that they'll never being able to coexist due to how different they are.

So what rank in the Defense Force does Malroth take?

Malroth is actually Vice Captain for the 4th Division so he's qualified for scheduled visits with the Hibino Family. High enough to be in important meetings but also allowing his personal schedule to remain flexible. Some members of the Defense Force call him 'Malroth the Breaker' as he's been known to break through even the toughest kaiju hides like sandpaper with his signature club weapon.

He's still a bit socially awkward but is happy no one in the DF doesn't really mind. Plus being able to destroy things or kaiju in a way that benefits others also makes Malroth quite ecstatic from this arrangement. If the Fourth Division ever found out what he really is then their opinions of him wouldn't change.

Malroth is still their friend and Vice Captain.

I haven't actually touched the game yet my dad is the one who's playing it and I have to give cursory glances at the TV as I walk by to catch a glimpse of Malroth. Hence. Discreetly.

i remembered the malroth fight being much more annoying than that 🤔 i guess if you keep circling him and keep shooting, he's not that much of a challenge, huh

It's DQB2 's 6th anniversary! Even if it only recently re-entered my life and became my main interest, it's a game very dear to my heart. 💖

Started playing the Dragon Quest games on mobile in order! Before doing this, I've only finished one DQ to completion and that was DQ Builders 2 years ago, a big fave. I was so happy while playing DQ2 that it's world was the basis for Builders 2!

TBH I didn't know anything about DQ outside slimes and what I played from Builders. It's been a joy reliving a game series I didn't know had sequels past 1 during the NES days.
