ensaymada with rocky and liam, cause i love their teammate dynamic!!

i know i haven’t exactly showcased rocky and liam’s teammate dynamic that much but promise that i’m goin ham after this submission to explore their silliness and chaos

ALRIGHT SO “nobody knows just why we’re here / could it fate or random circumstance?” reminds me of how they’re very alike yet vastly different, and neither of them can figure out if being teammates would be beneficial or detrimental to their friendship in the long run; especially when they’re both arguably good drivers but the team realistically can only prioritise one driver

“if the universe conspired to meld our lives, to make us fuel and fire” is how much they really complement one another as teammates and drivers, because their friendship to me is one of those friendships you find later in life and have a meaningful impact (especially when you compare the friendship to what she has with logan and oscar) and “know wherever you will be, so too shall i’ll be” is quite literally how they’re tied together now as teammates

“as though the world would never understand / this unlikely union and why it still stands” is how teammates in f1 are typically portrayed by everyone in a sense that they never turn against one another and even behind the scenes are quite helpful to one another iykwim?

these 4 up here are more liam coded towards rocky especially when you’ve read the fall from grace chapters in which rocky is the one pulling away even though everyone is quite literally trying their best to keep her in their grasps

and in a sense that while rocky is obviously struggling and is very unhappy with the car, she doesn’t realise that it’s also tearing liam apart with the performance and the addition of his teammate literally pulling away without any explanation… it sucks for him too and it’s very much in the “when no one understands / i’ll believe” and it’ll make more sense when i post the remaining parts of fall from grace i promise

YO HI thank u for order an ensaymada because i was super excited for this one HEHEEEHEHEEE

a quick disclaimer is umm,, under that read more option is actually me unhinging my jaws and going absolutely batshit insane for anything rocky related and it's a long explanation of me being too committed to my fic so here u go xoxo

"barefoot and a bottle of wine" always reminds me of the living situation especially in the last scene where they're drinking wine and they end up on the ground together! (that scene was actually inspired by maroon by taylor swift) but this one still really makes sense to me especially with the way they'd stayed together all night until logan hauled rocky's ass to her bedroom and their friendship has always been them just saying what's on their mind, even if there's an ounce of possibility that the other would not be agreeing

"when you're with me no judgement, we can get that from everyone else, you don't have to prove nothing" is sooooo very real to me because when you see the parallels of logan's very real 2023 season and rocky's 2025 season, it kind of emanates a similar vibe the way the public was ridiculing them and being harsh... ya knows? so to me this lyric is literally the basis of their friendship where they don't have to have insane results to stay friends, especially when they're always on the receiving end of insane backlash ykykykyk

"i hope we never change, even though we both know that we'll move on again" brings me back to when logan moves out, because they've lived together for half their lives at that point and have relationships of their own, which almost always means that the friendship will be in the backseat

"i'll keep your secrets safe, until the time we both find ourselves alone again" actually includes oscar,, because of all that time spent growing up, watching each other mature and change and grow up, i'm sure there's a lot of ghosts and dirty laundry that they don't want people finding out (especially their long term partners ya know) and they only ever talk about those moments when it's the 3 of them again
