I really should get more of a set mascot for this blog. A Mweor would probably fit the best (since it was the petsite this blog was made for), but which one? Dovesky, my starter? One of my tab holders?

wcs world building potentially vs what we got is sad like they didn’t do ANYTHING to explain why the clans are separate other than fish stinky but they like fish or dayum they fast we ain’t ooph lmao sooo my proposition on how we could make these better (moon yaps)

rc: rc would be most spiritual with meditation and crap active prayers to starclan at night and stuff, but they would be more accepting of unusual romantic pairings (cross clan and the gays) with a kinda “go with the flow” attitude. Names are water birds, fish and aquatic creatures amphibians not included, emotions and characteristics of fur, water related, or abstract concepts. so like Crappiedamp, Swantide, Foamdream, and Drowsydrench to name a few. these would be stuck to pretty closely and it would be considered bad luck to go against them.

wc: windclan would be the least spiritual and basically just think of starclan as their ancestors and be completely fine with the fact that they could be wrong unlike the other clans. They still have tunnelers in this version and as such have the second best night sight after shc. They would probably replace reverence for starclan with strong familial bonds and be the most tight-nit clan. They would be the most averse to inviting new cats in bc they could be a threat. They most suspicious clan by far, borderline paranoid lol. Their names would be herbs, rabbit names, farm animals, wind motifs, words to describe running, and noises. Examples: Whistlehare, Galestreak, Thymesong, and Sheepbreeze. They would stick to these less that rc but still rather strictly

tc: first they would live in the mountains im nuking the forest bc it’s the same as skyclan and doesn’t make sense for thunder. they have the most strong storms and are physically the strongest. they are second most spiritual to rc. They now are quite like the tribe in their hunting tactics and mostly hunt large birds. They mostly name their kits after strong and powerful animals especially from the old clan lore of tiger, lion, and leopard clan, and legacy names but this is typically only for the prefix actions, fire, and storm motifs are mostly used in suffixes. Examples: Lionfire, Cougarstrike, Hawkhail, and Bearbite. They are the second to least accepting of unusual romantic pairings(cross clan and gays)

shc: Shadowclan was the original “evil” clan so i’m playing on this for my take. They value strength, power, and cunning. and are much more accepting of killing in battle. They have a different afterlife to starclan instead having a more dark forest like afterlife but still can visit starclan and move inbetween they just prefer their darker home. They are now nocturnal and live in a pine marsh. (a combination of old shadowclan lands and new) They are the least accepting of crossclan and gay relationships as they belive that to be betraying the clan or “nightclan” (their starclan) Their names are typically more violent, have night motifs, night birds, or amphibian based. Examples: Salamanderstrike, Owlclaw, Darknewt, and Herondusk. Bird names don’t have to be from the area just heard of by word of mouth.

sc: First things first “sky” doesn’t describe them i’d go with Canopyclan so ima now refer to them a cc. They now get the boring deciduous forest home but they hunt in the canopy of the trees. They are still the most accepting of outsiders, actively recruiting them! they don’t care about odd relationships either. Starclan is important but not the revered entity it is in canon. They have their camp in the trees and rarely touch the ground. they have made aqueducts and such to move water to the trees now having a role called “builders” they also have therapists bc god then need them. Elders are revered most in cc and lead the clan as a conglomerate instead of one typical leader, but they still have a front for the other clans (like a council and council leader) They would be named after tree species and birds as well as sky motifs. Examples Dawnmaple, Dovesky, Birchdown, and Downyash.

That was just some spitballing but if the erins out even that much thought into clan traditions and customs the world building would be so much better. idk erins shoulda done better moon will stop yapping

Alternatively, give dovewing a new suffix. Dovesky, Dovebriar, Dovepounce, Dovelight, Dovefur (after Bluestar bc Firestar being nostalgic and missing his mentor)

I just wrote a really long ramble about that AU I was talking about earlier... I've decided I want to change Dove's name and someone in a Discord I'm in suggested the name Palerain and I like it but I want to keep her prefix but Doverain sounds... eh. Do you have any thoughts on what I should do?

palerain is super pretty! so unless u really want ‘dove’ then i’d say do that

HOWEVER i also love the prefix ‘dove’ so um... i guess if you like ‘rain’ as a suffix but not ‘doverain’ then there’s some similar suffixes?

That AU thing was amaaaaazing! What's everyone's powers? Or at least that you know of. C:

Everyone is a lot, but I can tell you about ThunderClan! Some names are canon, some are Redux, and some I’ve changed to fit into one of the classes. Note that cats don’t get renames in this AU!

Bluestar (Bluestone as a warrior) and Dustpaw have Earthen powers. Bluestar particularly excels at telekinetically chucking rocks at you.

Patchpool (Patchpelt) is ThunderClan’s only Aqueous cat. He’s basically a waterbender, it’s pretty cool.

Lionheart, Mousefire (Mousefur), and now Firepaw, are Pyromancers. Fire powers are fairly rare, but pretty straight forward. Fire breathing and all that stuff. They seem to be less rare in ThunderClan, for whatever reason.

Whitecloud and Smallstorm are Stormbringers. They can make it rain, thunder, whatever. They can also attack you with lightning.

Frostfur is a Frostmaker. Ice powers and such.

Redtalon (Redtail), Ravenpaw, Sparrowpelt (Halftail), and Dovesky (One-eye) are Flightfuls. They can summon magical wings to fly, and some of them can talk to birds!

Willowpelt is an Arboreal, so tree powers! She’s helped to construct ThunderClan’s elaborate den system.

Goldenflower is a Floral. Florals have various flower-related abilities, as well as healing abilities.

Tigerclaw and Specklethorn (Speckletail) are Thornbringers. They excel in combat, using their powers to fling thorns and create great spiky barriers.

Darkstripe, Brindleface, and Dappletail are Chameleons. They can blend in seamlessly to a background, and also have some abilities related to shadows and darkness.

Lizardtail is a Channeler. Channelers are pretty rare. They can transform into their animal and borrow useful traits from it. Lizardtail’s always a little sour because being a lizard is kind of useless.

Cats with dual powers are somewhat uncommon, but present. Spottedleaf is a Chameleon/Floral, but has mostly developed her healing powers. Teaselwing (Runningwind/Teaselfoot) is Floral/Flightful. And Sandpaw is Earthen/Stormbringer, and is already whipping up some great little sand tornadoes.

this is THE dovesky song so of course i had to draw her. this song really put me in my feels and helped me figure out my characterization for her. anyways this specifically corresponds with the second verse, go listen to the song it's really good.

Dovesky! I don't really imagine her like this I don't think? But then again I'm not sure how I DO imagine her. I think in my head she's a lot more buff and Lorge with a lot of fur, but her daughters and all three of her siblings are smaller and very sleek (except for Snowspiral, she's super tall)

How come Snowyfeather has feathers instead of herbs like the other medicine cats?

Okay let’s see if I can answer this coherently!

Snowyfeather has two dove feathers to represent her mother Dovesky. Dovesky was a RiftClan queen who sent her kits Cliffkit, Icegaze, and Snowyfeather to live in GlenClan with their father Hickorystar because RiftClan has a REALLY strict culture about Clan loyalty, especially concerning half-clan relationships. The relationship between these two Clans at the times was under especially high stress due to fights surrounding rights to the river. Had the half-clan nature of her kits been revealed, Dovesky likely would have been banished and while her kits wouldn’t have been punished, they would have led significantly more difficult lives.

Though it is uncommon, Snowyfeather isn’t the only healer to have feathers. Tumblefeather (PineClan healer apprentice Tumblepaw in the allegiances) has brown feathers in his neck fur, and past healers Swallowbird hand Ravenspeckle also had feathers in their fur

Hey so I'm thinking about renaming medicine cats to just healers?? Because as well as not having parallels to the term 'medicine man,' it's just way less of a mouthful and has a better ring to it when you think in terms of terms like. medicine cat herbs and the medicine cat den and the medicine cat code vs healer's herbs, healer's den, healer's code. However, I'd have to go back into a bunch of posts and the toyhouse pages and everything and change them (which i'm not averse to doing, it would just take time).

I'm also considering removing feathers as an option for med cat herbs, which would frankly make more sense because feathers aren't anywhere close to being herbs anyways, but i love the lore connotations with snowyfeather's specifically lmao. soo thoughts?

hiya! i'm working on charts of all of the clan leaders, and here's part one with glenclan! information about each leader is under the cut, it ended up longer than i expected haha

Sorrelstar (Sorrelfoot, he/him)- GlenClan's founder, he was the ThunderClan deputy in the lake territories before the second migration. He was first to establish his Clan, made up of former Thunder, Sky, and RiverClan cats. He was a total sweetheart and ended up living a SUPER long time. Leader mark is a white tail-tip.

Stagstar (Stagheart, he/they)- Sorrelstar's grand-nephew, a stern and somewhat abrasive cat who holds his Clan's needs above all else, sometimes to the detriment of others. Leader mark is a stripe below each side of their mouth.

Dewstar (Dewripple, she/her)- a kind, patient, but ultimately very naive cat. She established the agreement with PineClan over ownership of the Sunstones, and was promptly killed by her deputy Barkfang. Leader mark is the inner ring on her face stripes.

Redstar (Redgleam, he/him)- was chosen by StarClan to lead GlenClan after Barkfang was poisoned by the healers. Was a wise and determined leader. wears feathers from the cardinal that was the StarClan omen choosing him as leader, leader mark is a grey spot on his back.

Laurelstar (Laurelfrost, they/xem)- no one is quite sure how they became leader after someone as capable as Redstar tbh. xey were vain and a bit lazy, but incredibly charming in a way that made other cats like and trust them. They were eventually poisoned by Dawnshatter so that Hivesting could be leader. Leader mark is dark circles around xeir eyes.

Hivestar (Hivesting, he/him)- oh, Hivestar. For as long as he could remember, he wanted to become leader, and was disilusioned with Laurelstar's leadership. His mate Dawnshatter strategically poisoned several cats to get Hivesting into a leadership position, only discovered after he had successfully killed Laurelstar. Hivesting banished them, and became leader. He was a good leader, but was always followed by the fear that he didn't deserve his position. Leader mark is the dark part of his muzzle.

Ashenstar (Ashenpelt, he/him)- Ashenstar was a proud, powerful cat, and the instigator of the war between GlenClan and RiftClan over rights to the Great River. He became guilty over his actions later in his life, and made attempts to fix the mess he'd made before he died. Leader mark is pale grey paws.

Hickorystar (Hickoryleap, he/him)- a short-lived leader, Hickorystar was a meek, sad cat who lived most of his life with an immune disorder that often left him sick. He began the process of making amends with RiftClan, spurred on by love for his former mate and mother of his kits, the RiftClan warrior Dovesky. Leader mark is large spots down the sides of his tail.

Sandstar (Sandstripe, she/they)- Sandstar was made deputy rather young, with Hickorystar hoping that a young leader would have a different perspective on the fighting with RiftClan. She is the current leader, a proud, humorous, but stubborn cat beloved by her Clanmates. Leader mark is dark stripes along her nose bridge.

Greenstar (Greenshade, they/she)- the future leader after Sandstar, Greenstar is an observant, introverted, deeply intelligent cat. They lead their clan with wisdom and foresight almost unmatched by any cat alive. Their leader mark is a black stripe on each whisker pad.
