Fight for Joy
Rise!Raph x Fem!Reader
Thank you @shadyfancherryblossom I love this request, I think itâs so cute! Please enjoy!
Raph was only 27
Only 27 when it happened, the day everything changed, the day he became a father
You gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl, she had a lot of turtle-like features with some human aspects blended into her body
Her name, Athena; and who better to name your child after than the goddess of war herself
Raph was considering naming her in honour of Karai but didnât want to place that pressure on her
From day one you two were the ultimate parenting duo
And you best believe Raph helped with everything, this man is pure husband material and will cater to your every need
During the Krang war things got bad
Everything was going moderately ok and you had managed to somewhat raise Athena while battling against a nuclear alien threat
That was until Raphâs passing
It was a heartbreaking day for everyone but especially you
Knowing you would have to be a single mother, explain to your daughter why her father was gone
It didnât feel real
Athena would grow up with you as an incredible mother
The rest of the group assisted in raising both her and Casey
They grew up together, trained by Leo with free schooling from their knowledgeable uncle Donnie
April worked to be the best supporter she could for you with Mikey providing his usual cuddly comfort
Both served as the Athenaâs secret therapists as she grew older
Not a day went by where you didnât think of him
When Cassandra passed you fell quickly after
Both children were heartbroken
But once Athena saw you in the past, with Raph, looking bright and cheerful
She knew things would be ok, sheâd make sure of it
It was an emotional roller coaster but Athena appreciated it
While Casey stayed she chose to go home due to the space-time complications
Mikey somehow managed to send her back without completely falling apart and Athena was eternally grateful
She was able to return home to a happy, healthy, fully alive family
And you got spend the rest of your life alongside Raph, raising your gorgeous warrior daughter
I hope you liked my interpretation of your request, (I also hope itâs ok that I dove a little into the movie timeline). Funnily enough, Athena is actually a character I made in another tmnt fanfic Iâve been thinking up for 2012. Iâm still not sure how I plan to do the x reader element but I might put some polls up to help me decide. Anyway thank you for reading, I hope you have an amazing day/night wherever you are!â¨

The Last Goodbye
When they are Kia
Cod characters x f! reader
Inspired by MW3 and the tragic events that occurred this will be a three-part series if I do not get writers block lol.
So sorry for the not posting as much! Itâs been a really crazy month and a lot of things had happened and caused me to have a bit of a depressive episode so thank you all for being super patient!
Warnings: mentions of death
John Price
You saw it on the news first before you got the visit. Your breath hitched when you saw the news of the air strike that had hit the base where your husband of 12 years was stationed at everything was decimated. And you couldnât call or check to make sure that he was all right as he would not have his personal cell phone with him. It wasnât until two days after the attack did two uniformed military officers showed up at your door holding prices old hat and SAS badge and dog tags. How they got them so quickly, you werenât sure, but the news came like a sudden wave of cold water. â we are so sorry for your loss.â One of the officers told you. The body would be arriving shortly within a week or so for proper burial you two had purchased side-by-side grave plots. And the will was already drawn up well before all of this had happened. John was a very precise man and always make sure to think 12 steps ahead. He knew his job was rough and he knew that at any moment he could drop dead. He made sure that his life insurance would be going to you, which was some relief sense the army didnât pay much.
How to tell your daughter, that her father was not going to be coming back. What is the worst thing you could ever do to her young heart. She was only eight years old. She adored her father practically worship the ground. He walked on. She was always his little girl, and now the war stripped her of him. Stripped you of him..
When she came home from school, you had to sit her down. You held her hands, and with tears, you told the heartbreaking news. The young girl did not understand at first on why her father wasnât coming back, and once again, you explained that he had died in action, and he would never be able to come home youâre a little girl started to cry, and when he tried to comfort her, she bolted from your arms and ran to her room, slamming the door, and she could hear her wails. You yourself cried yourself to sleep for the first few weeks all the way up until the funeral your friends and family members gathered around you doing everything that they could to comfort you and your daughter people were calling in every single day talking with you for hours on end, while other people stopped by to bring you food.
Every day it felt like a horrifying nightmare. The one that reoccurs every single time slightly more horrifying than the last. As you were going through your stuff and trying to decide what if his you wanted to keep and what of his you wanted to donate you noticed on your phone you had gotten an email from Kate Lasswell. She had sent a video to you actually several saying in the email that he wanted you to have this and gave her explicit instructions in case if he was to ever die.
Pressing the play button, you watched as his face appeared in the camera as he sat down and smiled at you. The way, his eyes twinkled and the crows feet around them creased. â hello doveâ he started at first and you had to pause the video because you were overwhelmed with the emotions. When you stabilized yourself again, you continued. â I know itâs been a long time since Iâve talked to you and I know that if youâre seeing this, it means that I have passedâŚ.. mission was going to be botched no matter what I just didnât want to tell you the statistics at firstâŚâ he paused himself, as he seem to be collecting his words in his own voice was shaking â I really wish I could come back home to you. I told you that this would be the last mission that I would do before retiring⌠I promise to take you out on that date that you wanted to go to that fancy restaurant.â he paused again, closing his eyes, and releasing out a large sigh.
â Iâm sorry I never got to take youâŚ. I had so many plans to do with you and Alice⌠it doesnât seem fair that I didnât get a chance to do thatâ once again, you had a pause the video so that you could take a minute to cry. The plans that you had with each other right now by the wayside. You unpause did it again, and continued on listening. â I know right now youâre depressed.â he stated, folding folding his hands, and leaning on the desk in a slightly business fashion way. â in the email that Kate sent you there is several groups that you can join that are for the spouses of the deceased militant partner. Please join one as well as make sure our daughter also goes to one for kids. Sheâs going to need that support⌠you both are.â he smiled again, but it was a Sad smile. â I also made sure to have a college fund started for her. You donât have to worry about it until sheâs ready. There should be plenty of money for her to attend all the way up until graduate year as long as she goes to a decent university. Make sure itâs only used for that if she chooses not to go to university or to go to a less expensive one, you can use the money to buy her a car or whatever she needs to get her life startedâŚ. Iâm sorry this had all come to thisâŚ. As you know I have set aside a life insurance, and the beneficiary goes to you. I also saved up a lot of my savings as well. Feel free to use it as necessary.â he knew that you were going to be smart with the money. â He paused and looked at you âyou are my belovedâŚ. Iâm so sorry my dove that you have to face this alone. Please take care of yourself. Find a husband that loves you like I did and a good father figure for our daughter.â This made him tear up. âI will wait for you in heaven and I will watch over you both. You mean so much love. No one or nothing can separate this love. The email that is sent to you also has several videos for Alice. For her birthdays, graduation, moving out to university, marriage and their child. I made sure to make a video for all of that⌠I also left many for you. Please donât hesitate to just let me listen to you⌠I love you.â
The video ended and you sat in the chair, Thinking things though. He set life up for you and your daughter. He was still looking after both of you. You cried for a bit before getting up and knocking on your daughters door. Your little girl opened up with tears on her face. âHey baby⌠daddy sent you something.â She sniffed as you picked her up and took her to your old husbandâs office. After sitting down with her in his old chair, you turned on the next video. âHey Angel!â Johnâs face lit up when the camera started you could see he had been crying. âAngel, im not coming home, itâs not that I donât want to but itâs because I got called up to heaven. I want you to do something for me my sweet, I want you to watch over momma ok? She is going to need you and you are going to need her. He glanced up as if looking at you then looked back down at his daughter. âYou are such a special little girl. I love you so much. Momma has the other videos for you to watch when you grow up. Iâm so so sorry to leave you like this. I did not
I did not want to go. I know you were looking forward to see me and so was I⌠you are my sunshine. My only sunshine.â He stated singing the song he sang when she was down or sad. âYou make me happy, when skyâs are grey. You never know dear, how much I love you, so please donât take my sunshine awayâŚ. I love you my angel.â The video ended. Your daughter looked at you. âWhat now?â She asked. âWell⌠now we do what daddy said⌠we do our best to move on, but not to forget him. We will be OK.â You held her as you too watched the sunset fade beneath the horizon, a beautiful white dove landed on he window, cooed and looked at you before flying off into the golden rays of the pink sky.
Simon Riley
You were cleaning in the kitchen when you heard a knock at the door. Putting the sponge back in the soapy hot water. You wiped your hands and made your way to the door. Two military officers took at the door, Solum faces as they greeted you. âHello can I help you?â You asked
âMrs (y/n) Riley?â One of them asked.
âYes that is me.â You looked at them worried.
âIâm sorry, Lieutenant Simon Riley was killed in action.â The officer said gravely as he handed you a box of his things.
You took the box with tears in your eyes. The men told you that his body was found and would be returning soon. You thanked them and closed the door as you held the box tightly in your arms and sunk to the floor sobbing. Your sweet Simon. He was gone, never to come home to you and your son. You knew it was a dangerous job, but it never really hit you till now. Your husband, the man that always let you take off his mask, the man that would cuddle with you at night and rub your back after a long day, the father of your 3 month old son who he would stay up late to let you sleep. He was gone, ripped apart from you. How were you going to tell your son about his father, the man who loved his son from the moment he was born. You cried on the cold floor till you fell asleep, still holding onto the box. You woke up to the sound of your son crying in his room. Getting up, you walked and a dead sonter to his room. Tomas your son named after your husbands brother, was crying in his cradle. Carfully you picked him up and held him close. He looked so much like his daddy, blonde hair, dark blue eyes, fair skin. âShhhhh my loveâ you rocked your son with tears in your eyes. âDaddy isnât coming back.â You stated as a hiccup got you. âHe loved you so muchâŚ. He loved me.â You knew your son wouldnât remember this but it was still so sad to hold your little boy and know he would never have a father and son bonding.
You sobbed as you held onto him. Tomas sensing his mothers destress, he quieted down and cooed. After a while you fed him and put him down to bed once more. You opened the box after sitting down with a hot cup of tea, ready to take on what you needed to. With a sniffle, you opened the lid to reveal his skull mask, the dog tags that he wore, his SAS badge, and a few other things. âOh Simonâ new murmured as you carefully picked up the mask and set the box down as he traced over the lines to his skeletal features on his balaclava. It smelled like him. That rich, earthy smell, that he always seems to have with a hint of gunpowder and bourbon. It was a lingering sent, but it was a good one at that. You held the mass close as you leaned back on the couch and close your eyes. You already missed him more than you did before maybe it was because you knew that you would never see him again, to have him be in the house and be present with you and your son. You would go on with your life fine you are a tough woman, one of the many reasons to why Simon married you, but it was your son that you were worried about. You wanted your son to have a father figure. A dad that he would learn to grow up and love. Simon never had that sort of dad, and had always wanted to be that way for his own children.
Now Simon was never going to live out his dream, and Thomas, your son, was never going to have that sort of special bond. I thought made you incredibly sad once more but no tears fell, your eyes were all dried from the previous crying. The weeks came and the funeral happened, your husband looked peaceful in his casket. You wanted some alone time with him first and held his stiff, cold hand. â Thomas will miss you⌠I will miss you. You were my rock and shield. Itâs going to be hard without you Si⌠I will always love you and miss you.â The funeral took place and it was a sad time. The team of 141, your family and friends helped with whatever you needed. Now, you were cleaning out things from your late husband. As you were cleaning out his bedside table drawer, you saw a note, folded up neatly. Curious, you unfolded the lined paper and read the words on the paper.
âMy dear (y/n), Birdie if you are digging in my drawer then that means I have passed, the mission was botched⌠Iâm sorry⌠I know Thomas is in good hands with you. Please donât worry about money. My account will be given to you. As I am writing this, itâs late, youâre sleeping next to me. Itâs the night before we leave⌠I am looking at you for the last time, taking in all your beautiful details. Your face is so soft in sleep, you look so angelic. I am going to miss you⌠I know you will miss me too⌠Iâm sorry I havenât said âI love youâ that much. I hope you know I cherished and deeply loved you. I still do. I know you are a strong woman, that is what drew me to you. I know you will move on. If you wish, find someone who can love you and our son just as much as I loved you. I will be waiting for you when you come. I will always be watching out for you. Please donât let our son forget me. I want him to know how much I loved him and you. I love you my Birdie, my beautiful wife. ~Simon.â
You held onto the paper and cried. This was going to be ruff. You were going to be ok. A sense of comfort filled your mind and warmth flooded your body. âI love you my Simonâ you smiled and the familiar sent of him wafted and you felt his warmth envelop you.
Gaz
when the news reached you, it hurt like 1000 tiny little daggers. You had just gotten married to Gaz, your Relationship was just beginning. The two of you had been high school sweethearts. Times had gotten tough for both of you and you broke off your relationship before time being until you rekindled it once again, realizing that he was the only person for you. You had only gotten married a few months prior and just had your honeymoon before he was shipped off. Four months he was gone. And he was supposed to come back in two, however, the letter that you received told a different story. He would never be coming home. His body was blown up so badly that they couldnât find all the pieces to him. We would do everything that they could to get the majority of him back home so that there could be some proper burial. This broke your heart. He would never get to share the life with you that you too so desperately dreamed about, a small home, somewhere on the suburbs of London with a dog, and maybe a child somewhere down the line. That was your plan at least but now things have changed, and now your beloved was gone.
It had been a few weeks since the death, and the burial of what was left at him. You had moved back in with your parents for the time being. As you were cleaning up your room, doing the best to get over your grieving you noticed a note on your bed they have been delivered by your mother earlier. Carefully you walked up to the letter and looked at it. It was addressed to you by Gaz. A sense of panic swelled in your chest. Did he really survive? Or was this some cool trick that somebody was playing? Quickly opened the envelope, and you looked at the letter the date showing that it was a month ago that he had sent this; before his death. With shaky hands, you begin to read the chicken, scratch lettering, tracing over every word, and taking to heart as if it was the gospel.
âHey Love!
Things are crazy right now! Weâre going to be going into a city not too far from here. Iâll make sure to pick up some stuff for you. I know youâve been wanting to decorate the house for a while and Iâm so excited to see what sort of projects youâve been working on? Howâs the art piece coming? I remember you telling me that you wanted to start up painting again. We always had such a pretty drawings. I have no doubt that theyâre not going to be beautiful. I hope you hang them on the wall for us to see. I miss you. A part of me wishes that you were here at least the part that isnât the most violent. Unfortunately, weâre not in the best area we are being attacked left and right. Donât worry sweetheart. Iâll be home soon! I promise Iâll fix the leaky faucet. I know itâs been driving you crazy. I I sent a letter to my folks, but could you tell them that I miss them as well? I want them to know how much I miss them, but I think I miss you the most. When I get back can we get a dog? Also, can we have like a full day of playing video games just with you and me? I know I sound like Iâm rambling, but itâs just whatâs on my mind recently. Late night cuddles with you while playing Mario kart. It just sounds so relaxing right now. Iâm really tired. Well sweetheart, I better get to bed. I love you and I hope that you have an amazing day tomorrow and the next and the next after that.
Your Husband,
Gazâ
Hugging the letter, you cried your eyes out. Tears streaming down your face as you laid on the bed, holding onto the last remnant of what your husband left you. It sounded as if he was somewhere in a safer, better place. You hoped that he died quickly that he didnât suffer and his last thoughts were good thoughts. A breeze drifted into the room from your open window and a warm bit of sunshine hit your cheek as the breeze drifted passed it felt like a stroke on your soft face. He was there sitting beside you, even though you couldnât see it, you could feel his presence. He was safe and he was watching over you.
Johnny McTavish
The news has gotten to you quickly. It was actually delivered by Price himself. You couldnât believe it. Your Scottish highland your man was no longer going to come home to you. He was shot through the head. Taking a bullet to save a life. Your young son, John, named after his father, was going to be home from school soon the devastating news hurt you more than anything else out there. How are you going to tell your six-year-old son that he was not gonna have his daddy near anymore? Who was going to play football with him in the yard? Who is going to read bedtime stories? Who is going to play in the rain with him? Your son needed his father that boy looked up to his dad, like he was the sun, its self. The news hurt you hard calling his parents and his family was going to be hard as well if they had an already heard the news. He was close with everybody and his family and he had quite a large family.
The upcoming days to the Memorial as you wish to have been cremated, were hard and brutal. Everybody that you knew, and your friends and his family all gave their condolences to you and to each other he was loved and well liked by everyone your son took it hard he didnât understand why his dad wasnât coming home and cried and cried and cried it was like that for almost a whole week, he was doing so bad that you had to pull him out of school for the time being because he was unable to function properly. You did everything you could you hold him tight in your arms until he cried himself to sleep at night in which you also cried your own silent tears. You would go walk on the open, Highlands that overlooked the beautiful scenery where your husband, his fatherâs ashes, cast out upon the open landscape. A small memorial was placed there in memory. You would have picnics out there are frequently, simply listening to the birds call from high above and feel the warm sun cast Itâs beautiful rays. They felt cold and dull to you, but you did your best to hold out for your son.
Cleaning out the closet with all of his stuff. What is your next task as you were taking some of his old stuff down you noticed a hard drive they had fallen out of one of his pockets with your name on it. Curious, you took the hard drive and you plugged it into your laptop. It open the file which had a video and it. You clicked play.
The video with your husband sitting on the couch in your living room, smiling at you âHello my bonne Lass. if yer seeing this then ye know what happened and I donât think I need ta say anymore abou thaâ. I am so sorry that I cannot be with Yer. I love ye so much. I love our son John so much. Please remind hemâ every day how much I love him. Please play football with hem as much as ye can. Please read to hem every night fer me. I know itâs a lot ta ask with whatâs going on but I think it might be good fer both of ya ta share thaâ quality time. Iâm gonna miss ye both, but Iâm always going te be with yer. Iâm always going to be watching over mo little family. Donât worry Lass, life insurance should cover a huge portion of everything. Hopefully it can help provide some security fer you and fer John. I also have thaâ university fund ye wanted me ta set up fer him. Let the money grow and add te it. If ye want by the time he turns 18 he can open that account. The files are actually in my cabinet on the right side of the desk. It has all the important paperwork and documentaries yer gonna need. I really wish I was there with ya Lass. Iâm going to miss holding you at night and whispering I love yous.â His beautiful eyes stared right back at you with his stupid little mohawk and broad shoulders facing the camera. â I know you got this, please donât ferget about me, but I do want you moving on. Find a man that makes yer heart is happy to be with as it was with meh. I know itâs a lot ta ask for, and Iâm not expecting ye ta get married right this instant⌠I want ta see ye happy I want to see you taken care of. I love ye, my princess.â he reached over to turn off the device that he was using, and the video ended abruptly. A new wave of tears hit your face as you laid your head on the desk and cried for the fifth or sixth time in the past few days. Your son came in the room and gently touched your shoulder. âItâs OK mama! Daddyâs going to be with us. Heâs just going to be invisible.â he was quoting some thing that you had told him. When you had to break the news to John, you had told him that the angels up in heaven needed his daddy to help fight the battle up there because he was so good at his job. One day he would be able to meet his daddy up there as well. Now John had taken this to heart and thereâs now quoting this in hopes to make you feel better. You carefully picked up your son and held him close to you. â you know youâre the best against your father had ever giving me? When you were born, he had tears in his eyes and he was hugging you and kissing all over your face and just absolutely doting on you 24 seven. He told me how proud he was of you. He told me how proud he was of me. Those were good times.â Your son gently hold you tight in his own little arms. â itâs OK mama will make it out together.â You could almost feel a kiss on your forehead as ifâŚ. As if your husband was leaning over to comfort you.

Little Dove 5/?
You're Pro Hero Hawks' little sister. Dabi finds out and everything devolves from there.
HawksxReaderxDabi
TW: none for this chapter, but future parts may include, but are not limited to, noncon, dubcon, drugging, forced incest, yandere hawks, yandere dabi, coercion, lying, manipulation, grooming (of an 18 year old character), obsession, gaslighting...
Part 1 Part 6
Keigo is still home when you wake up, a rare occurrence given his hours. You stare down at your phone to read through a few texts from Dabi and look up when you hear an abrupt sound. Your brother is making scrambled eggs wearing your frilly apron and a pair of boxers. You canât help but giggle at the sight of him whistling a little flourish while he flips the spatula through the air.
ââMorning, Dove. Sleep well?â
You blush, remembering that you fell asleep while Keigo was preening your wings. Youâd woken, tangled in sheets and diagonal across the mattress. âDid I steal the covers last night?â
He grins that heartbreaking grin of his that comes so naturally when heâs around you. âOnly a little. I kept plenty warm, considering you were half on top of me.
âIâm sorry.â
He bats away the apology. âIf it bothered me, weâd have separate beds. Youâve always been clingy in your sleep.â
To be fair, so is he. Itâs a remnant of your childhood, when you were each otherâs only real family. You still are, but now you have a stable life to go along with your relationship.
There was a time Keigo left. It was sometime after your father was finally arrested, when your memories become a blur for a while. You know you were hungry and cold and sad. Your mother was annoyed at your complaints, but there was nothing she could do about them. She yelled at Keigo, called him useless, and he took off.
You think you saw him once after that, then nothing.
For a little while, you stayed alone with your mother. She rarely helped you with clothes or food or anything, really, so you quickly became a mess of a child. By the time the HPSC dropped in to pluck you from Tomieâs grasp, you were in such deplorable state that Keigo became furious when you saw him.
It was in the penthouse, your now-home. Heâd fought with the commission to get a place for you, and a separate one for your mother. When you asked why, he always shrugged and muttered something about everyone being happier this way.
Keigo had run across the bare floor and dropped to his knees to look at you. âDid mom hurt you?â His hands were warm on your shoulders, his eyes boring into your own. You shook your head. âDid she feed you?â he asked next, to which you shrugged. Keigo sighed, glanced up at an adult and said, âGo get her something to eat.â
It was the first time you ever heard Keigo give a command.Â
Your brother guides you to the table, snapping you from your memories. He has a full plate and orange juice all laid out.Â
âThank you, Keigo.â
 He beams. âYouâre welcome.â He has made himself a plate with more food than yours. He spends all day most days out on patrol and apparently flying takes a lot of energy, so he keeps fueled. Youâve always marveled at how much he can scarf down per meal.
Your phone buzzes and he frowns at it. âJust a friend from school,â you explain, though you have the phone upside down, so itâs not like you can see the screen. He hums in response.
âDo you have the day off?â Hope lays thick in your voice. Youâd promised to see Dabi later, but heâd understand that Keigo is home.
He shakes his head. âNo, I just had a little time this morning. Sorry, Dove. I know I owe you some one-on-one time, but things are hectic at work right now.â
You know what thatâs code for. âThe commission has you on a special mission, huh?â You hate when this happens. They suck the life out of your brother, promising him the moon for one more little favor. It never ends; you know theyâve sent him to do things he shouldnât, things he wonât talk about to anyone, but especially you. He could never ruin your image of him; it would break him.
You tell him youâll love him anyway, but he just shakes his and smiles sadly.
âYeah. Itâs a really important one, though. It might stop a war.â
âDoes it have to do with that guy who fought All Might?â you ask. Heâs behind bars, but maybe he has some sort of team who can take over his evil plans.Â
Keigo bites his lip. âYou know I canât tell you anything about it.â
âYeah, yeah, secret squirrel stuff.â You raise a hand in defeat. âI know.â
âThe secretest.â He puts your plates in the dishwasher after youâve both cleared them, then pulls you into his arms for a hug. âI told them Iâm taking a break after this one. I need it. Weâve all been working our asses off since All Might retired, but the flame man and I most of all.â
His heart is a steady beat against your ear. You wrap your arms around your brother and take in how much stronger he is than you. Even without him feathers, he could throw you over his shoulder. He takes his work seriously, despite his carefree appearance. You squeeze him, aware of how strong some villains are and how small your brother is compared to some. âYou promise?â
Keigo rubs your back. âI promise. They wonât get anything outta me for at least a month.â
âA month?â The idea thrills you; youâve never gotten to spend that much time free with him.
âYep, just you and me. We can do anything, go anywhere.â
You grin up at him. âI canât wait.â

Nova is so precious, protect her at all cost!
TW: a child being locked up, panic attack
Lucifer and Alastor sit together, in eachother's arms. The radio demon dreads sleep lately. Ridiculous thing, that one needs it every night. But the deepening pit of worry is interrupted by shrill child scream. They decide for Alastor to go, too many people might make it worse.
------------------------------------------
Nova is terrified. She's screamed at night! With her entire body trembling she holds a hand in front of her mouth, not wanting to make a sound.
She's gasping for air. It's too dark. Is she in the closet? She can't see anything, so she must be. She doesn't want to be there.
She buries her head, in her arms, crying softly. Tail wrapping around her legs protectively. She wants out.
Alastor turns the lamp on the bedside table on. Oh and that small child shaking in her bed- it's heartbreaking. The man sits down in front of the bed, getting himself on eye level with her.
Alastor: âNova? Darling? What's wrong?â
Nova, quivering: âP-lease l-l-let me outâ
She sniffles. The demon would like to pull her close. But it could give her an even stronger reaction and Alastor couldn't bare that.
Alastor: âOut of where, dear?â
Nova, heaving a breath: âC-c-â
She has to take another breath, attempt it again.
Nova: âC-closetâ
Alastor, patiently: âNova, darling, you're not in a closet. You're in bed. It's alright, try and look up.â
Nova: âIt's too darkâ
Alastor: âI turned on the lights. Take your time. I won't let anyone hurt youâ
She huffs. Then quickly steals a peek upward. Then buries her head again.
Alastor: âNo closet. I promisedâ
She's still shaking, not alright at all. The demon wracks his head, trying to remember something from that trauma book.
Alastor: âNova? Can you tell me five things you see?â
Nova: âWh- what?â
Alastor, kindly: âTry it dove. I'll listen. It'll helpâ
She looks up, just barley, ready to resume her defensive position.
Nova: â.... lamp. You. T-the bedâŚâ
Alastor, soft: âVery good dear. Two moreâ
Nova: âThe.. the window. The door too.â
Alastor: âPerfect darling. Can you tell me four things you hear?â
Nova: â... The l-lamp f-flickers sometimes. Your V-voice.â
She takes a shaky breath.
Nova: âThereâs noise outside. Th-the clock is tickingâŚâ
Alastor: âVery good darling. Now three things you feelâ
Nova: âThe- uh the bed. A-and my clothes. And- andâŚâ
Alastor: âTake your time.â
Nova: â.... Myself?â
Alastor: âVery good. You're doing wonderful. We're almost done. Can you tell me two things you smell?â
Nova: âYou and the blanketsâ
She has mentioned that she likes how they smell freshly washed. Alastor is relieved that she seems a bit calmer.
Alastor: âCan you tell me something you can taste?â
Nova thinks, but shakes her head.
Alastor: âThat's alright too. How do you feel?â
Nova: âI don't want to be aloneâ
Alastor: âOh, that's no problem, dove. Do you want me to hold you?â
Nova nods strongly. He swoops her up swiftly, she clings to him.
Nova: âI had a nightmare.â
Alastor: âMhm. Do you want to tell me about it?â
Nova: â... It was more a memory too. Kinda bothâ
Oh. Oh. The hug is suddenly slightly tighter. Seems to run in the family.
Alastor: âI am here to listen. But you don't have to tellâ
Nova: âDo you remember the stuff I said about the closet?â
How could he forget?
Alastor: âI recallâ
Nova: âIt was about that.â
Alastor: âOh I'm sorry darling.â
Nova: âIt was the worst oneâ
Alastor: âThe worst one?â
Nova nods. She sounds unusual. A bit⌠blank.
Nova: âI was in the longest. It wasn't niceâ
Almost Clinical. He doesn't like his little girl being so void of emotions. Of herself.
She is four. It can't get out of his head. Four. A tiny little child. Before his âsabaddicalâ she wasn't even alive yet. And this is what she has to deal with.
Alastor: âOh dear, I can imagine it wasn't nice.â
Nova: âHe went outside. I heard the door click.â
All he can do is hold her. Make sure she knows she isn't alone anymore. That she's safe. He wishes he could do more.
Nova: âIt was really long. Very really much long. It was night twiceâ
Two fucking days. Fucking hell. He knows that is unpleasant.
Alastor: âThat must've been hardâ
She clings a bit tighter to him. His grip gets firmer. Not unpleasantly so. It's grounding.
Nova: âI got really thirsty.â
Alastor: âThat's natural. You shouldn't have to go without food and water that long.â
Nova looks a bit embarrassed. Alastor goes through her hair.
Alastor: âThat's nothing to be ashamed of dear-â
Nova: âIt's not thatâŚâ
Alastor: âOh?â
Nova mumbles something into his chest. Despite his best efforts he couldn't hear it.
Alastor: âI'm sorry, I couldn't quite catch thatâ
Nova: âI⌠peed myself. Made the clothes dirty. Father was madâ
It's so quiet. Alastor has to take deep breath to stay calm.
To lock a child in, with no means of relieving themselves and then getting mad at them!
Alastor: âThat's natural as well. You couldn't help it. Nothing to be ashamed of either. Such things happen. And your circumstances were especially roughâ
Nova shrugs. Not really sharing the sentiment.
Alastor: âHe shouldn't have done that. That shouldn't have happened to you. I'm so sorry my dear.â
Nova: âI didn't listen. He said not to do it but I did anywayâ
Alastor: âDarling, look at meâ
She does. The face still so painfully blank. It's a trauma response.
Or so he read.
Alastor: âIt doesn't matter one bit what you did or didn't do. He shouldn't put you in a closet for days. That is simply unacceptable.â
She studies him, his smile is small at this point, trying to not show the fury for that man. And after a careful analysis a four year old is capable of- she smiles.
But it's wrong. She isn't happy, it's not even close to reaching her eyes. She is doing what he does.
Alastor: âDove- â
His mouth goes dry and he isn't sure what to say.

Omg omg omg omg I just read both of your Deamon AU fics???? They are so good!! And beautifully written!!!
please please if not too much trouble, can I please request for that Au?? Maybe like all of 141 meeting each other and Deamonâs for the first time?? I picture Gaz has some kind of bird like a mourning dove or a humming bird and Price has a stronger dog breed- like a Shepard of a sheep bearding dog â y know something protective?
UGH I LOVE THIS AUUU A
((sorry if you arenât taking requests on this, I just wanna say itâs the best thing Iâve readđđđ))
Requests are always open! (I just might take a while because I'm slow af lol)
I wanted to get this out this weekend just passed, but I got a fresh 'rona shot on Friday and it took me out with more precision than a sniper bolt to the face jfc. I absolutely adore the thought of Gaz with a little birb (a pretty one ofc), but I'd actually already picked something out for him, so I hope you like it almost as much as your idea. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!
Summary: John Price has hand picked every member of his Task Force carefully to create the perfect team we have today, even if it hasn't always felt like that.
Notes: Written from Price's POV reflecting on the team's past.
Pairing: John "Soap" MacTavish x Simon "Ghost" Riley
Series Masterlist: Here
CoD Masterlist: Here
Taglist: @heyitsropi
The first time John met Simon, he was only that, Simon Riley. The Ghost was yet to exist, and in his place, was a young man still full of life. He was friendly enough to the men close to him, but with a weariness toward anyone unknown. Â
That caution, of course, extended toward John in the early few days. The first few times they interacted, he was strictly professional, his daemon even more so. The panther would stalk along beside her human, remaining in silence throughout all discussions, coming and leaving as quietly as a shadow.Â
But over time, the younger man gradually began to settle. Simon certainly wasnât the only person in the military to suffer from a rather poor childhood riddled with trauma and pain, and his team were kind enough to never push him too far. He would always maintain a slight distance between himself and the rest of the men on his squad, but he was often quick to smile and joke with them, telling what very well could have been the worst âdad jokesâ known to man. Â
Both Simon and Elanor seemed to revel in the pained groans his terrible jokes could invoke, smiling innocently as if not understanding why everyone was so upset. It wasnât a surprise to learn that Simon had a younger brother, he certainly had the annoying-older-brother act nailed down perfectly. Â
After a few good missions together, Simon was less reluctant to talk about his family with John in the room, discussing what he planned to get his nephew for Christmas, where he wanted to take his mum out for lunch during leave, and how he was going to get Tommy back for getting a stain on his ManU jersey. Â
Simon was a good man and a great soldier, and John was disappointed when the time came for him to return to his own unit. John was to travel up north toward Herefordshire and Simon was to meet with some of their American contacts to help root out a cartel down in Mexico. Â
Ghost was not the same person as Simon. He had the same daemon, the same brown eyes, but he was not Simon. He lacked the underlying gentleness in his eyes, and heâd grown to be cold and closed off toward everyone around him, friend or foe. Â
If Simonâs daemon had been quiet before, she was dead silent now. Liz would trot over to the cat with a slowly wagging tail and try to greet her, but the panther would just look at her, before slinking off to go rejoin her human. It was heartbreaking to see a daemon who had only just started to come out of her shell become so walled off again. Â
Sometimes he wouldnât even see the animal in the same room and couldnât help wondering where the daemon could have vanished to. Just seeing a daemon so far away from its human sent a shiver down Johnâs spine whenever he thought about it, his fingers instinctively curling themselves into the soft fur of his own. Â
The reports he had seen about what had happened to Simon to create this Ghost, some of them first-hand from Simonâs own therapist, sent his stomach rolling uncomfortably, and the parts about their treatment of Elanor? He had sweat beading his forehead and Liz pulled into his lap. The rough collie did her best to comfort him, but he could feel her own distress at just the thought of such a thing happening. Â
It took well over half a year before Ghost and Elanor were comfortable with turning their backs on John and Liz, and several before they were comfortable working alongside them. The Ghost and his daemon worked alone, but John and Liz were gradually, slowly, at the rate of a melting glacier, becoming an exception to the rule. Â
This made it particularly difficult when Ghost was introduced to Soap. Â
John MacTavish was, and still is, a loud and confident man. He doesnât tolerate nonsense and will proudly stand behind his own personal morals and beliefs, even if itâs to the detriment of his professional career. He stands for whatâs right, regardless of the consequences, and heâs entirely unapologetic of that fact. Â
Soapâs daemon, Gwen, is a perfect match for him. A honey badger, just as unconcerned with the thoughts and feelings of others, and entirely fearless, even when up against daemons easily twice her size. They share a fierce aggression that would have most shaking in their boots, and John has seen firsthand even lions fleeing from their warpath. Â
To say that Soap was a bit... much... for Ghost would be an understatement. Soap is so openly friendly with every team he works with, both verbally and physically, and his rather emotional responses to things seem to constantly have the masked soldier on edge. Â
Since their first meeting, Soap has learned to reign in his emotions and has matured greatly with the help of experience and the guiding hands of more seasoned soldiers. But several years ago, fresh out of SAS selection, he was far too much for a quiet Ghost who could hardly stand having even John working with him at the best of times. Â
While their first meeting didnât exactly go swimmingly, it ended amicably enough since Soap didnât seem to take Ghostâs reluctance to socialise to heart. Meanwhile, Ghost just appeared glad to have a break from spending time around someone so bright and bubbly, almost immediately vanishing on a solo mission for a week. Â
Kyle was a much safer bet for working alongside Ghost. The young man, while inexperienced, was the top of his class and always eager to learn more. He was like a sponge, soaking up every little piece of advice heâs given and doing his best to apply it to his work. He always asks the right questions at the right times, and always thinks on his words before speaking. Â
His daemon, a friendly marbled polecat by the name of Milly, was the first daemon Elanor was willing to open up to. She wasnât insistent like many of the other daemons in the military, providing the panther with plenty of space, but always choosing to sit beside her, greeting her with a happy chirp. These simple greetings were eventually returned with small nods or pleasant rumbles, and over time, and two daemons fell into the rhythm of being at one anotherâs side. Â
Gaz was always seeking out new things to learn and Ghost had plenty to teach. No matter how difficult the lesson, he would always have the determination to see it through to the end, and his mature, competent nature was gradually winning over the stubborn lieutenant. On the rare occasion where Kyle wasnât with John, he could be confident that Ghost would have the younger manâs back. Â
But Gaz brought more than plain professionalism to their team, he also brought the fun, youthful spark that the group had been missing. His sassy remarks during OPs and cheeky behaviour off the field was worming its way under Ghostâs thick skin, and John could see it in the way his lieutenant began to offer banter of his own in return. Â
It was like watching a grizzled old dog interacting with a friendly young pup, slowly relearning what it meant to actually enjoy life here and there. Sometimes Ghost still needed that time to be alone with Elanor, but Kyle and Milly were drawing them out of the dark and back into the light again. Â
More often than not the two could be found sitting peacefully together, doing nothing but enjoying the company of their fellow brother in arms. Whether it was eating meals together in private where others wouldnât see Ghost removing part of his mask, running on the track first thing in the morning to wake themselves up, or claiming the bench under the old tree where they could discuss upcoming schedules or laugh at the young recruits just learning to walk, it was all done by each other's side. Â
John could see the pride in Ghostâs eyes whenever Gaz managed to get an upper hand on him in training, he could see how Elanor now greeted Milly with a gentle headbutt, how trust was building between them and their team was solidifying into something unbreakable. Gaz was a loyal man, almost to a fault, but he had awarded that loyalty to John and Ghost and, in return, had been given it back tenfold.Â
But the team was yet to be complete, and it wouldnât be, not until John MacTavish joined them. Â
John was admittedly still not certain how well Ghost would take to working so closely with Soap after finding the other man a tad overwhelming the first time, but with Lizâs encouragement and seeing how much Ghost was beginning to come out of his shell, he had no choice but to commit to the selection. Soapâs file reported nothing but constant rapid improvement. He was a talented, driven man, and precisely someone John wanted on his new task force. Â
The offer was sent out and immediately accepted. Â
Soap and Gaz were, understandably, complete menaces. Two young men eager to prove themselves and have a little fun while theyâre at it. Theyâre thick as thieves and both just as determined to inconvenience John as much as possible while dodging reprimands like the plague. âA bunch of childrenâ heâd called them one day, earning a grunt of agreement from Ghost, Liz and Elanor sharing a look of endless suffering.Â
As for the relationship between Ghost and Soap, the best John was hoping for was for them to learn to accept one another, even if that was just enough to be able to put their best foot forward during missions. And it worked well enough, until Las Almas happened. Until Sheperd happened.Â
Until Simon happened. Â
Years of hiding away, and suddenly it wasnât Ghost standing before him. It was Simon. Â
Soap was looking right at him, and Simon was looking right back. Â
Something had changed between them. From the report he got from the two soldiers about the events that transpired he couldnât tell what, but it was clearly something significant. It had changed them from work colleagues to something far more dangerous. A better man would have nipped it in the bud before it had the change to potentially ruin them, but John has never claimed to be a good man, good men donât last long in their line of work. Â
If he and Gaz are a good team, Ghost and Soap are unstoppable. Â
When they think heâs not looking, John has caught how Gwen excitedly jumps around Elanorâs body, learning against the dangerous predator and covering her with affectionate licks. More surprising, is how Elanor returns the behaviour, nipping playfully at the badgerâs feet and tussling about on the carpet like a pair of kittens. Â
It isnât until he sees Soapâs bare hand brush through Elanorâs fur that he knows the depth of what they are to one another. Â
He just hopes he hasnât made a horrible mistake. Â

Hi, I wanted to ask you if you could write a one-shot about Ezio Auditore x Reader (Lorenzo's niece)?. where the two of them have an important relationship, which one day the reader discovers that she is pregnant and she immediately goes to tell Ezio but she finds out that he cheated on her with Cristina. due to the pain she decides to leave Florence and raise the child alone (the only ones who know about the pregnancy are Lorenzo, Giovanni, Maria and Federico) only later Ezio finds out and goes to look for her
Oooh bringing in the angst!! đâ¤ď¸â𩹠no happy ending here
You look down at her and your heart breaks. She looks like you and so much him at the same time. If things had gone differently, Ezio would be here with you both during playtime with the dolls.
He loved you. He loved Cristina. He risked everything to keep you and his family safe. He gave himself to you endlessly and selflessly. The network of ally spies revealed to you he had seen Cristina again.
Two of the four who knew were tragically passed, even though you knew Giovanni and Frederico would have been ecstatic to be a part of your daughterâs life.
For the longest time, you wanted to be angry at Cristina, at Ezio, at the world, but what good was that going to do? The poor young woman and you never got him in the end.
Now Claudia had become another informant, and her letter betrayed the timing of when Ezio was due to your abode.
Downstairs, you hear the commotion between your Uncle Lorenzo and Ezio. Raised voices and desperate pleading before thudding footsteps got closer to the doorway.
You held your breath for a split second as the door swung open, and Ezio burst into the drawing room with gasping breaths.
The little one turned to look at the disheveled man before turning back to her imaginations.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â
The cracked voice betrayed all the anguish that been pent up inside the young man. Tear stains and sunken eyes painted his heartbreak.
âIt was not how I wanted to tell you, but things do changeâŚâ
He took a tentative step towards you both with a hopeful expression. You hoped the situation would not involve raised voices. There has been too much of that through all the sleepless tearful nights of your pregnancy.
âCan Iâ?â
Any other time, you would have agreed to him, but nothing would ever be the same again.
âI am not sure, EzioâŚI am not certain about anythingâŚâ
Outside your window, two doves nestled to each other protectively over their nest of new hatchlings.

Memories: Harry Hook
(Thatâs right, Iâve done it again, this time in my psych class. Have fun)
Harry has a few memories of his mother. He remembers her watching as his dad taught him to sword fight, how she always called him âkiddoâ⌠and how she was the only person he ever heard say âI love youâ
Harry was six when he started hearing things. It started small, hearing someone call his name when no one was there, hearing clock ticking when he wasnât anywhere near his familyâs shopâŚbut then he started seeing things too. As he got older the voices became louder and the visions more clear, heâd always seem out of it, his maniacal laughter scaring people away and seeming unable to focusâŚbut then there was Uma. Uma wasnât afraid of him, she trusted him, she saw him as an ally, someone to be kept aroundâŚHarry liked having Uma around
Harry was ten when his mother diedâŚsickness, a terrible way to go, really. He would always sit with mother while she lied in bed, heâd always tell her about what was happening that day, sometimes even bring her back a little gift that he âboughtâ from Jafarâs junk shop. His favorite thing he ever got her was a little pocket watch, it was damaged and stuck at 11:30, but it had a little design engraved on the back⌠a swan craning out itâs neck, surrounded in a frame of vines and roses, he always loved that watch
The day his mother died, Harry sat with her and told her about what happened that day, how he and Uma pulled a prank on Cruella deville and didnât get caught, how Harriet beat up a guy who called Captain Hook weak, and how he even saw a little dove by the docksâŚthough that one wasnât real, just him seeing things again. When his mother died, Harry saw his father cry for the first time, Harriet tried so hard to shield him from everything, but there was no hiding him from that. Harry hugged his father tight and tried to tell him itâs ok and that everything will be alright, just like Harriet would do for himâŚbut then the voices came, and it wasnât just whispering, they were loud and saying terrible things, it eventually got so bad he had to let go of his father and sit in his room with his sisters until it got silent again
Harry was eleven when he gained a reputation. Harriet always told him that if the voices got bad to go find her, but Harry added an extra step, if the voices got badâŚplay it up, laugh, smile, whatever, just act insane so people stay out of the way. Harry had gained the reputation of âHookâs psycho sonâ though that didnât stop his classmates from giving him heart eyes, so he also became the Isleâs heartbreaker, which wasnât necessarily a bad reputation to have once he got a little older. Always feared, or a fantasy
Harry was sixteen when the hallucinations were at their worst. Everyday there were visions of violence and carnage, and the voicesâŚthe voices were the worst part, always yelling, always saying horrible, horrible things. Harryâs day always started with whatever strange medications Harriet found on the barges, and ended with him throwing up over the edge of the lost revenge. Uma and Gil would always stay close to him, tell him when what he was seeing was or wasnât real, guide him away from prying eyes when the visions and voices got bad, and would help sell the act of his insanityâŚhe had a reputation to keep up after all. One voice always stood out from the others, it wasnât loud or vicious, it was soft and gentleâŚalways saying âI love youâ, it was the one voice Harry didnât mindâŚreminded him of his mother
Harry was eighteen when he joined his father for a drink. He had indulged plenty of times, always with Uma and the rest of the crew, but never with his father. Harryâs vision of his father had been shattered long ago after he caught his father three bottles deep, swearing him out for a menagerie of things he did or didnât do through mournful cries, though Harry didnât really hold it against himâŚhe knew his father was just trying to numb the pain of well, everything. The barrier has been down for a few months and Harry was getting overwhelmed, Auradon was a lot to take in and the hallucinations werenât helping. On a crisp autumn night, Harry went down to the Jolly Rodger, sat down next to his father, and took a swig of rum. The two men talked through the night, about Auradon, Harryâs visions and the voices in his head, and about all the things Hook tried to numb, the pain of losing his wife, the pain of his oldest daughter growing up to fast, the pain of his only son hearing and seeing things that werenât there, and the pain of his youngest daughter never truly knowing her mother.
That night, Harry barely slept, his mind was rattled by the rum and the voices were so loud, and yet, he could still here one⌠âI love youâ

hi there! love your young vets au and all the blurbs and headcanons youâve been putting out lately. just wondering if we could get any more info about wyatt and the period of time where he runs away from home and gets into a bad spot? love the story youâve created around these ocs and iâd love to know more about this part of the story!
wyatttttt. my poor bub. when i say rachel and i whumped that poor kid to nearly deathâŚ
once you see a read more line- cw for assault and human trafficking. dead dove do not eat. wyatt is about 23 during all of this, itâs the summer after he finishes college. wyatt pinterest board.
⢠has a huge fight with ev that comes to âyou are NOT my dadâ blows and just. bolts. runs and hides from conflict like he has since he was little. just takes it a step farther this time.
⢠the most heartbreaking part of it all for me at least is that he got *so* close to the bucks. when he gets in this guyâs car and everything goes south heâs all of 15 minutes away from their house.
⢠after everything it took to get to wyoming from new york he just wanted to get to his uncles and micah, have a little breakdown about how heâs pretty sure his parents hate him after that big fight with ev and then go from there.
⢠but heâs so tired of walking and itâs getting dark and heâs a little lost. and this guy is super nice when he pulls over to ask if he needs a ride somewhere. so wyatt doesnât see any reason to turn him down.
⢠when theyâve been in the car for about ten minutes thatâs when how nice he seems starts to really creep wyatt out. guy is making comments on his appearance, asking personal questions and just making him really uncomfortable.
⢠wyatt fishes around to get his phone out of his pocket but thatâs when the guy pulls over and he gets that real bad âsomething is terribly wrongâ gut feeling and. freezes. has been a freeze response guy since he was little. since his early memories of helenâs abusive partner between nash and ev.
⢠the guy does. some stuff to him in the car and when thatâs over makes wyatt give him his phone.
⢠drives him to what is *not* the bucksâ house. tells him he seems like a troubled kid, might be better off here then whenever you were going.
⢠and everything is *screaming* in him to turn tail and run but heâs so scared and still in freeze mode even though his body is moving just. tells himself to go along with it for now and he can figure out getting out of there in the morning or something.
⢠but then it turns into weeks of people in and out of this guys house and wyatt just tellin himself to go along with it for now and figure something out in the morning.
⢠out of that house back at home in new york and down the road at the bucksâ everyone is. distraught. ev and helen thought when he bolted outta the house he was just gonna drive around for a few hours and come back but he was just. gone.
⢠sawyer has an incredibly hard time too. struggles with emotional regulation and changes in routine/structure as his and his big brother being gone makes all that 100x worse. sleeps in ev and helenâs room more than even the younger kids do. cries himself to sleep in there telling them he wants his brother back <\3
⢠this is alluded to in my recent josie naomi blurb but josie also has a hard time because micah obv loses it. and seeing her baby brother like that and not being able to fix it really eats at her.
⢠micah ends up taking some time off from school (heâs younger than wyatt and still in college) and when he has the little breakdown that triggers that he calls his sister before their dads.
⢠then the weeks in that house turn into months and wyatt is doing worse by the day but. also kinda starts to resign himself for this situation. has very little window to the outside so itâs easy for him to be convinced that his family stopped looking for him even though that is incredibly far from the truth.
⢠thinks being in this situation must be punishment for something- for being a bad son- for being bad.
⢠and if thatâs his cross to carry so be it.
⢠the thing that triggers him getting out of there is- disgustingly someone bucky knows and tells about the situation with their friends missing kid realizing the kid in question is at a certain house he frequents.
⢠piece of shit doesnât do the actual right thing by going right to the police or anything like that. but next time heâs at the house he gets a real good look at wyatt and is like. god damn this kid is in bad shape. he doesnât want to be here. shit.
⢠still a horrible horrible person but. when hes alone with wyatt outright asks if he wants to be there.
⢠wyatt just looks at him all wide eyed and doesnât really say anything. but the guy tells him heâs gonna figure something out so he can get out of here, just trust him. when i say jump you gotta jump kid, yeah?
⢠goes about it so fucking recklessly though. just outright tells the guy that took wyatt that the people looking for him are closer than he thinks- he should let him leave, gonna be more trouble than itâs worth to keep him here till they find him etc etc.
⢠but this guy isnât new to this business either so heâs like yeah alright thx. got it. and just starts making plans to leave wyoming with him and go elsewhere.
⢠which his buddy gets wind of and feels sick about because god damnit i told that kid i was gonna help him get out of here and now thatâs. not happening.
⢠panics and goes over there real angry telling him he shouldnât do that, asking what he gets out of dragging this kid around, look at how much weight heâs lost and the shape heâs in. what are you gonna do if he gets sick or worse.
⢠which like before does 0 to actually help the situation (dude call the fucking cops) because the guy just lashes out again. gets into a huge fight with his buddy asking if heâs a fucking narc, you sure havenât bitched about a damn thing till now you think i wouldnât bring you down with me? etc etc.
⢠but as terrible as he is he is starting to panic about everything. has a you want that kid out of misery, fine moment- goes full break glass in case of emergency mode and sets the house on fire with him in there. (hence those pics on the pinterest board)
⢠the fight with his buddy was at like 10pm so this is all happening in the middle of the night. wyatt was /asleep/ and wakes up to a burning house heâs been trapped in.

My friend @m34gs asked me in her reply to my ask (this post) about what my Top Five Favourite Link Click moments are. I decided to answer in my own post though I recommend you read my friend's answers too! Just be wary of spoilers for both her answers and mine!
Anyways, here are my Top Five Favourite Moments in Link Click. I'm listing them in order with one being my most favourite moment. I'll also not include the OP or ED in this list. Just know that VORTEX slaps and is one of my favourite OPs of all time.
5. Li Tianchen discovering his neighbour was one of the gossipers regarding his mother and father's marriage
First, the visual set up of the scene is utterly beautiful. The saturated colours in the evening sky, the mostly flat colours on the characters with only dark shadows and white highlights, and the obscuring of the photo. All these elements help build and add to the slow suspense building in the background.
I am also in love with the framing of the reveal. I adore how the audience doesn't see the photo as Li Tianchen looks at it. All we see is his reaction: how mostly silent contemplation morphs into despair, sorrow, anger, frustration, etc. His twisted laughter is utterly heartbreaking and horrific. Allowing the audience wallow in it for just a few moments before showing the photo was a brilliant move on the creative team's part.
Next, we have the music that gradually swells as Li Tianchen's world view is completely shattered with the reveal of the photo. It's a score that perfectly encapsulates the inner turmoil of Li Tianchen as he's pushed to his breaking point and makes the choice that ultimately secures his destiny.
All these elements make for a scene that's so potent and visceral that it permanently lives rent free in my mind.
4. When Li Tianxi and Li Tianchen's running is paralleled at the end of S2
This is another scene that I adore due to the visual elements and symbolism. If there is one element in story telling that I'm weak for it's parallels between characters. In this case, it's the parallels with Li Tianxi and Li Tianchen running away.
My heart utterly aches at how in this scene it's clear they're still the suffering, scared little children we met when Cheng Xiaoshi dove into the photo. All the layers around them break down and we see their core as they run. Li Tianxi runs because she's scared and saddened by her brother's actions in regards to Chen Bin. Li Tianchen runs because his entire world has once again shattered before his eyes. The sister he loved and vowed to his mother he'd protect is dead.
Watching both of them running away crying breaks my heart every time I watch the scene. How I long for both of them to return to their halcyon days where their parents were alive and there was no sorrow in their family.
3. Cheng Xiaoshi's plan to trap Liu Min in the dark room is executed
Time for a bit more of an uplifting scene: Cheng Xiaoshi luring and beating up Liu Min in the darkroom! This scene is so cathartic to watch as the boys finally give Liu Min what he had coming: justice. It's even better when they're using their abilities (time travel) to keep the upper hand while confusing the hell out of Liu Min (and Li Tianchen). It's also a well thought out plan with more than just "use my ability to win". I loved the subtle psychological game played with the photos in the dark room too.
2. Cheng Xiaoshi on the receiving end of his Dumbass Nature
Just like my friend, this scene is in second place. It's too good to not mention! Nothing is funnier than witnessing Cheng Xiaoshi go "Look at me for doing a good job and saving Lu Guang... oh no who is that dumb ass and what is he doing?" only to go a second later "WAIT. That's ME. I'm the dumb ass!!!" Cheng Xiaoshi finally got a taste of what Lu Guang has dealt with for majority of the series and the expression he makes is priceless.
The big reveal at the end of S2
Honourable mentions: Li Tianchen revealing he was impersonating his sister, Cheng Xiaoshi as Doudou uppercuts the woman who kidnapped him, and Xiao Li every time he's exhausted because "I guess time travel exists".
Before this reveal I was already extremely invested in Link Click. I love time travel and watching series explore the concept. What do I love just as much as time travel? Time Loops. I eat that concept up all the time.
So, watching the end scene slowly pan out to Lu Guang's perspective and reveal to the audience that yes, this has a time loop made me want to scream aloud. It's even better because this time loop is a Tragic Doomed Gay People one. When a time loop is all about saving the ones you love, that makes it even better.
However, what truly solidified this scene in my brain were all the little clues leading up to it. First, and most obvious, was the password on Lu Guang's phone that Cheng Xiaoshi put in to unlock it. The reference to the time on Lu Guang's phone before he time travelled to save Cheng Xiaoshi (again??) is amazing.
But, that's not the end of it. Oh no, it's the fact that I read a meta post about how the photo in the hospital was not meant for Cheng Xiaoshi from the start. The breakdown of evidence pointing out that 1) Lu Guang hid the phone in an obscure place, clearly not wanting ANYONE to find it and 2) That he doesn't know Cheng Xiaoshi knows his password really hit me hard. The level of detail and attention put in this series is truly amazing. Realizing the seeds of foreshadowing were present the entire time makes me want to not only rewatch the series but also show it to all my friends.
And there you go! I hope you like my top five favourite scenes in Link Click, friend! Let me know what you think!

born to die
morpheus x reader
warnings: slight yandere themes if you really really really look, death, reincarnation, diy abortion, pregancy (for a little while)
one day, you died. and then, you came back. one minute you were a grown woman and the next, in the body of a little boy. it never hurt to die, but you always remember. you remember everything. it left you disoriented the first time, coming back. you felt scared, always crying, screaming for your lost family, but soon it became too tiring. too exhausting to mourn for people you had loved, too exhausting to love and know youâll never spend eternity with them. it was your own damn fault, of course, not realizing what you had agreed to.
âwhat are you doing here?â silence filled your apartment as you stare at the man in front of you.
âi felt your yearn for me.â Morpheus says, gently. he moves towards you. instinctively, you take a step back. your back presses against the wall.
âi- i donât know what youâre talking about. youâre not real. iâm just dreaming.â he steps closer to you, only inches away now.
âmy dove,â Morpheus carcasses your check with a cold hand. you lean into it. âi am no dream. iâm back⌠for you.â
âno, Morpheus. we canât.â you press your eyes closed as tears well. you love him, but the gods have said that a mortal and an endless donât belong, their story always ends in heartbreak. he had told you himself when you had met for the first time.
it was your first life. the beginning. you were once royalty, you bathed in wealth and riches. your father, the duke, spoiled you rotten and your mother, although strict, always gave you what you wanted. no matter what you asked. so, youâve never wanted to love or romance. what was the need for temporary feelings when you can fill your heart with gold.
âmagician, why have you requested the audience of the duke?â your fatherâs chamberlain questioned. a man stood before him, dressed in black from head to toe. he adorned a cloak that shimmered as it moved, and with the right angle, you could see glittering stars and galaxies on the inside. a strange aura surrounded him, you couldnât feel any magic like from magicians you have met before, but there was something about him you couldnât place. he says something in response, but you couldnât hear. his voice was quiet, but it felt like the ground rumbled as he spoke. you shake your head, believing you must have lost your mind.
âboo.â someone whispers into your ear. you jump and turn in surprise. your handmaiden laughs loudly at your display. you quickly cover her mouth.
âshh! iâm watching the new magician!â you whisper, you turn back and your handmaiden peeks over your shoulder to watch the magician walk through the doors. he pauses, you both still, he turns and you see him. he was⌠beautiful. you had never seen a man so alluring. his eyes meet yours; your heart feels like it has stopped. his eyes swirl with different colors, it reminds you of the night sky. his face betrays no emotion as he tilts his head and examines you, but you can feel his gaze soften. he turns back and walks into the great hall.
you donât see him after that, not for a couple days. in those days, you felt a strange emptiness. you had never felt such longing before. youâre not sure what to make of it. you fill this emptiness by going out, buying beautiful dresses and jewelry, but nothing worked. you stand at your balcony, leaning your head against your arm, your ache weighing you down. you watch the sky darken and watch the trees sway in the light wind. suddenly, you see something in the garden, someone. your ache disappears, replaced with giddiness. you pulled on a coat over your nightdress and snuck outside, carefully avoiding the servants and guards. you make your way to the garden and see your mysterious magician sitting at a bench, facing the roses. you quietly come and sit next to him. neither one of you say anything, content to sit in each otherâs company.
âi had requested for these roses to be planted.â you say, keeping your eyes on the red roses. you remember when you had asked for the garden to be made. it was your 15th birthday, you had made a passing comment about how a garden would look nice outside your room and by the next week, your parents had started planting and building. you smile, reminiscing your childhood. he hums, you could feel the vibrations of his voice in your chest.
âitâs beautiful.â his voice was deep, elegant. it was soothing. every ache, every pain, every awful feeling you had when you hadnât seen him, it washed away. you let out a small breath.
âyour voice is very beautiful.â you say, looking at him. he looks at you, a small smile dances across his lips. you smile back, âhas my father appointed you as our mage?â you turn back towards the roses.
âperhaps.â his voice was traced with mirth and you grin.
âyouâre very mysterious, magician, iâm sure iâll see you again.â
âiâm sure you will, my lady.â
soon months passed and you fell in love, your magician had told you his name was draumey, seemed to fall in love with you as well. he came to you every night, in wake and in sleep. the two of you talked for hours. he would soon confess his true identity, Morpheus, lord of the dreaming.
âi donât understand, why canât we be together?â he shakes his head, his annoyance obvious on his face.
âmortals and endless cannot be together, (y/n).â he states with finality. tears stream down your face, and Morpheus turns away from you, unable to watch as his lover crumbles. âit ends in a tragedy, it was foretold in the beginning of everything.â Morpheus tries to explain to you, but you break down into sobs. his face was wracked with guilt, he only turns to leave, but you call out to him.
âplease, my love, stay with me, for one final night.â Morpheus doesnât answer, âplease give me one last moment with you.â you beg. Morpheus turns back to you, silent. his eyes, filled with stars, search your face. in one quick moment, your face is in his hands and his lips on your lips. desperation was in every kiss, searing and steaming. you could feel every ounce of guilt and sadness in him. you kissed him back, needing to make him remember you. his hands move to your back, quickly undoing your lace. with in seconds, your clothes were on the floor and your body was in his hands.
by morning, Morpheus had left, leaving only a rose where he had laid next to you. as soon as he was gone, the ache was back. but soon, you learned that you were with child. the ache you had felt was gone, but dread replaced it. fear for your child and fear of the tragedy that Morpheus had warned you about. your handmaiden was sworn to secrecy, fearing your parentsâ reaction. but as soon as you found out, your life ends.
you stood at your balcony, one hand on your stomach. your thoughts full of your love.
âhello.â a sultry voice sounds from behind you. you turn and the most beautiful person stands in front of you. their hair black and lips a deep red. they hum, you feel the vibrations in your chest.
you gasp, âyouâre like Morpheus!â your eyes widen.
they chuckle, âhe told you, hasnât he.â they start laughing, loud and menacing. âoh, he truly loved you.â you feel fear trickle down your spine. âoh sweetheart⌠donât be scared.â they smile, wide and evil. âiâm here to help you with that âthingâ in your belly.â
your eyes grow wide and your hand goes back down to your stomach, protective, âwhat? there- there is no need for that.â they pout.
âoh, but there is.â they flick their wrist and youâre falling. the balcony was built with your safety in mind, this shouldnât be happening. you scream, but soon, youâre looking down at your mangled corpse. blood flowing from your head and- âmy babyâŚâ you feel the wind get knocked out of you. you watch as your parents run to your body, screaming. a hand rests on your shoulder.
âhello, love.â calmness washes over you. you turn to look at the stranger. she felt similar to him, to your Morpheus. âah, you must be my brotherâs lover.â she smiles, warmly.
âi didnât- i donât know what to do⌠i miss him.â tears run down your face. she wipes your face.
âi can help you, but there are great costs.â she looked at you with worry. âonce i do this for you, there is no turning back, (y/n). you will never be rid of this curse.â
âi donât care⌠please⌠help me.â you feel the loss of your love, and then your child weighing on your heart. she sighed and nodded, and with a snap of her fingers, you were born again.
you push away his hand from your face. âi need you to leave, Morpheus.â you stand firm, wiping away your useless tears. youâve survived decades of love and heartbreak, life and death. you will not lose yourself in love again. you will not lose yourself in him.
âyou love me, i know it, (y/n).â Morpheus smiles. you grit your teeth.
âi donât love you.â even you couldnât believe your half-hearted lie, but you couldnât risk it. Morpheusâs smile drops. you see the man that left you once more. Morpheus backs away.
âi do not believe you, and when youâre ready to listen to me, i shall find you, my dove.â he turns away, cold.
your stomach drops and fear twists your face, âno, Morpheus. donât do this, please. please i canât-â he snaps his finger, and once more, you are born again.

A bunch of silly heroes / Marvel AU Fic
-> Ok the last fic was a heartbreaking one, so itâs only fair to do a more lighter thing. Consider this a late gift card of sorts.
~~~~~~
April. The month filled with springy details, new ideas, flowers being delivered and most of all holidays.
And this case, April Fools.
The winning queen of that prank tended to be Liane Felton, who tends to drag one, if not two, of her friends into the plans. This year went a little differently.
She was the one who was surprised to find a breaking news in the bathroom that morning. It was supposed to be a fun day of work outs, having her favorite lunch at the Cafe, pranking her friends and celebrate with a movie.
But this was a pretty cool surprise.
On the counter of the bathroom was a pregnancy test. She knew it wasnât Rochelle or any one of her friends, that she was sure of.
Then her eyes landed on the smell of the bathroom and the Dove crème being used. MIA! She wondered if her fiancÊ knew.
She gasped, âIâmma be an auntie again?!â
She rushed out of the bathroom and went to find Nikolai, Ethan and the others. The girls almost stumbled onto the heels she was wearing, searching around for the gang. Half of them were in the kitchen and others in the common room chilling out. Ethan catches her before she can hit a wall and asked what was going on.
Nikolai was cutting up some fruit, his favorite being apple slices, as he watched the blonde. Rochelle was eating some blueberries and texting Rick about something, concerned about her cousin's act.
Liane giggled trying to contain her excitement, which earned a few raised eyebrows.
"Someone here as a bun in the oven." She revealed.
Everyone looked at Rochelle as the redhead exclaimed, "IT'S NOT ME!..damn, you have two babies and everyone thinks it's you.."
Ethan joked, "Babe, it's April Fool's Day. Who pulled a prank then? Was it you?"
"No! I am a good girl."
That earned a few 'are you serious Felton?' looks towards her as the blonde rolled her eyes. Nik stopped cutting up the apple slices and asked, "Alright hold on. Ethan's right. Did you do something?"
"Not it wasn't me! I mean, it sounds like a fun prank but, no. It was your agent girl." Liane admitted with a grin holding up the test.
Nikolai was thankful he stopped using the knife that moment, or he would've cut himself by accident. He laughed as his accent was clear as day, not believing it for a second. It was April Fools, and if anyone was runner up for tossing pranks around it was his wife. Yeah sure, they always talked about kids and having their own, aside from their adorable dog Arrow Mills, but the idea was always flipped on the heads based on work.
But then again, they both knew their children would be the most loved babies in the whole damn world. From the day they met, he knew she was his. So of course children were in question down the line. Especially with their friends and family involved. He wondered why his wife hasn't said anything about this.
However he wasn't exactly sure it was real either.
Rochelle gasps and grinned, "Wait wait! Agent Parker, aka Miss Hot-Shot Bartender is..that's a joke, right? Liane ,what did you and Mia pull?"
"I didn't! I mean, honestly it could be a prank she did to me. She had JARVIS suddenly speak in a French accent one year. Threw me off." The blonde replied thinking about it herself.
Ethan was curious himself as he wondered, "And she did pull a prank on our training schedules once after we screwed around with her.."
"And she did have me overwork one night as payback for a bad prank." Nikolai admitted, "What did we do to Mia this time?!"
Hell, once Mia pulled a prank on them that resulted in their shampoo having coloring it. Rochelle was a light strawberry blonde for weeks, Ethan's hair was darker, Liane's hair was pink and Nik's hair went red for a couple of days.
She even made Rick's hair green and Luna's hair a deep purple almost pink color too.
Ethan took the test out his Liane's hand to get a better look and showing it to the others.
"Uh, you know she maybe peed on that right? Or used water to make it look was..." Nik said winced a bit.
"Relax. It's define as a prank for a reason!" Ethan exclaimed, "Where is she anyway?"
"She went to go see her mom's place today. Something about helping out at the food drive."
"Aw that's sweet. Wait--it could be a lie! Ohhh she is in trouble, if it is."
"I pranked her last year with painting her whole office and adding posters on the wall of clowns...but what did we all do to her to mess up?"
Rochelle raised her hands in innocence as she said, "Don't look at me. I'm cool. She babysits my twins and..well me and Luna did use baby powder on her twice, when she walked into the elevator door."
Liane snorted, "I remember that! She was pissed. I remember I burnt her files a couple of days ago out of anger...I wasn't thinking straight and she was mad.. Ethan?"
"I did pull a small prank of using magic to change the rooms with Cole as she was running around looking for the kitchen." Ethan added with a chuckle, "It was funny."
Nikolai chuckled as well and thought, "Okay. Maybe this isn't a prank. But what if it is? It's kinda bad to make us all run around like a chickens and not know what we did to her. I know I am known for messing around with Mia, just to get her railed up and annoyed, until she realizes I was joking."
They all decided to try and track her down to give her a taste of her own medicine. But as their plan as set in motion, the elevator arrives and the doors open, revealing Mia with a bunch of shopping bags.
Mia strolls over, whistling a happy tune as she makes her way over to the living area.
âToday drained me. What are you guys doing?â She asks, peering at her friends. âHey, honey,â she greets Nikolai separately. âWhatâs up with you?â
Liane raised an eyebrow at the perky side of Mia. Something was up, it was a prank! She shared a look with the others, as if to cue to others in.
Nik sighed and asked, "What the hell is this, darlin'?"
She noticed the test in his hand and her face fell, "Oh..you guys found that?"
"Yeah we did. Liane found it. Is this a joke or are you serious? You decided to mess with us about it. What did we do to you this time?"
Liane exclaimed, "I'M SORRY ABOUT THE BURNT FILES! And Chelly is sorry about her pranks too! Don't harm us-wait what's coming after this prank?"
Rochelle rolled her eyes at her cousin as Ethan snorted placing a hand on his lady. The room went silent as if waiting for the big undertaking of this prank.
But it didn't come.
Instead, Mia studies their faces as she took the test away from her man's hand and chuckles softly. Nikolai waited for an answer, can't read her face or not, but his expression softens.
âI didnât want you to find out this way. I guess, I got a little too excited and forgot to take it out of the bathroom. I wanted to surprise you once you got home from the gym.â She admitted.
âWaitâŚthis isnât a prank?â Rochelle asks, a hint of a grin appeared on her lips.
âNo. Why the hell would IâŚoh shit itâs April Fools! I forgot! I wanted to get you guys good this year.â Mia pouts in annoyance.
âHold on, hold on.â Nikolai puts a hand up to silence him, still hung up on the fact that she wasnât pranking him and was actually pregnant. âAre you sayingâŚare we having a baby?â
âWell, Iâm having the baby. Youâre having a panic attack, sweetheart.â
Liane sighed in relief then squealed at the excitement taking hold on her brain as she shakes Ethan jumping up and down. Mia takes her husband face in her hands and says, "Hey, look at me, it's okay. No pranks, I promise."
"You sure? Because we all thought we fucked up and you were messing with us.." He said with a smile, chuckling now.
"Well I did pee on the damn thing."
Ethan's eyes widen and wiped his hands on his jeans realizing what he did as the girls laughed. A series of 'oh my gods' came from Nikolai this time as he lifted up Mia in his arms and pressed kisses along her whole face, her giggles could be heard. That was a tale sign he was more than happy.
He rested his chin against her head and smiles, with hands on her shoulder. He chuckled and hummed a few cheerfully words, but then Mia pulled away to ask, "Hold on. You guys thought it was a prank this whole time?"
Rochelle shrugged with a smile, "Well..yeah you did prank us before for messing with you."
"Hell nah! That's low, even for me!"
"Holy cow, wait, I'mma be an auntie now. Oh my god this is amazing!"
"You all are a bunch of silly little fools, I swear..but next year, I'm prank y'all for sure!"
Chapter 10 - The Basement
Elizabeth paced back and forth in her room. Her nerves were at an all time high. Thomas was difficult to read, to understand. His unwillingness, or perhaps inability, to speak made it impossible to have a conversation. He understood her, clearly answering her questions with nods or shakes of his head. But, she had to work hard to figure out what he wanted or how he felt. He, in turn, worked hard on figuring out sex with her.Â
There was really only one thing she knew he wanted. He wanted children. It would ultimately secure her if she did get pregnant. Keep her forever safe being the mother of his children. Children. That was a scary thought. Thomas would make a good father, oddly enough. He was protective and kind to those he cared about. Maybe a little over protective. But, she knew his mother and uncle still had a strong grasp on him. Elizabeth could see Luda Mae easily undermining her. And she wouldnât be able to keep her children from not seeing Hoyt. She shivered at the thought of having a little girl. Although, at the same time, she couldnât imagine Thomas being alright if Hoyt did anything to his daughter.
Elizabeth stared at the floor for a moment. She didnât want a daughter. What she wanted was a little boy. She felt like she understood boys a little bit more, having taken care of her brother for part of his short life. A little girl⌠from what Elizabeth had gone through, she didnât want her daughter to have to deal with anything like that.Â
She absentmindedly rubbed her wrist. Children were a future problem. Her IUD was still in and the chance of getting pregnant was still pretty slim. She looked down at her wrist, she really wanted her things. A couple of items had popped up in their room, items she knew didnât belong to the Hewitts. The jewelry that she found she couldnât wear. It was wrong. But, she liked the books. It just gave her hope that her own belongings were somewhere, perhaps in the basement. But asking him, it made her nervous. The problem was, she didnât want to feel like she owed him something for returning her items.
âYou can do this, Elizabeth,â she muttered to herself. âWorst thing that can happen is him not having them.â She stared at her wrist. The worst that could happen was heartbreak. If he had gotten rid of all her items it would hurt. The only thing she truly wanted was a charm bracelet. It was a gift from her brother and something she normally never took off. Unfortunately, she had gotten it caught and accidentally broken it three days before finding herself in Texas. For safe keeping, she had left it in her luggage, along with her small photo album, another item she desperately hoped was still around.Â
She didnât want to mope around. Her change of mood and being more calm had in turn calmed Thomas down as well. They were in a âgoodâ place for now. She wanted to keep it that way.Â
She deeply inhaled then exhaled. âPrepare yourself for disappointment,â she whispered to herself. She had to know. And unfortunately, a small part of her hoped. Yeah, she was going to mope if she didnât get back those two items.
 Gathering up her courage, while also attempting to steel herself for disappointment, she walked out of the room.Â
âThomas?â she asked as she headed down the stairs. Once again, the house was empty. Although, not like last time. Luda Mae was somewhere outside and the other uncle was in his room. It was really only Hoyt who was truly gone. But, that wasnât unusual for him. The family were comfortable enough to not expect her to try and run away, allowing her to feel more free with her movements.
She walked down the hallway, hoping that maybe Thomas would appear by the kitchen, or somewhere else. âThomas?â she called out. No answer. She paused in front of the basement door.Â
Did Thomas have someone down there now? Were her things down there? It seemed like the only logical conclusion that whatever items she owned and that they had taken from the car were down there somewhere. Her heartbeat picked up as her brain brought up the terror, embarrassment, pain and fear she felt when Thomas raped her in front of Jason. The same location where she murdered her travel companion to spare him more suffering. She had actively avoided looking at the door any time she was near it, even quickening her pace whenever she walked by it.Â
Dare she open the door and walk down there? Her heart pounded in her chest at the thought.Â
The door knob twisted before she could gather her courage to do it herself. She didnât move as it swung back, her eyes saw the darkness first before Thomas. His own widened and he moved his head back, startled that she stood there. His human mask was a little bit different. Did he change it? It was hard to tell, since she rarely saw it. He did his best to leave it off whenever she was around. But, he clearly was most comfortable wearing it.Â
âIs anyone down there?â she asked. Her voice was stronger than she expected.
There was a moment of silence as his eyes seemed to study her for a moment, before he slowly shook his head. Swallowing hard, she reached out and touched his arm.Â
âWill you show me?âÂ
He jerked back with surprise at her request. His brow furrowed. He finished walking up the stairs and stood over her. Tilting his head to one side, he leaned down and cupped her face, eyes filled with concern as he studied her. She didnât say anything, didnât move or lean back despite how uncomfortably close his human mask was to her face. Her request even surprised her, but she couldnât show him that.Â
He rose back up then glanced down the stairs. With another questioning look, he held out his hand to her. She didnât hesitate as she took it and let him lead her down the stairs.Â
Face your fears.Â
He agreed that there wasnât anyone down there, and for their sake she hoped he wasnât lying. But, she needed to see the basement again. She needed to know and face it. And maybe, just maybe, sheâd find her belongings.
She let his hand go the moment her feet hit the concrete. She could sense him watching her with interest as she walked past him. Her jaw clenched and her breathing deepened a moment when she spotted the table heâd roughly fucked her against mere weeks ago. Gently, she placed her hand on the edge, running her fingers along the cold metal. Her body trembled despite her best efforts to remain calm. Such a bad memory, and yet it seemed so distant almost as if it happened a lifetime ago.
Tearing her eyes away from it, she pushed her body forward. The red stained metal hooks where Jason once hung hadnât been moved, but there was no body on them. Had she eaten him? Probably. Although, Hoyt did claim sheâd spoiled the âmeatâ. But, she couldnât put it past them to lie to her, because they were by omitting the fact they were feeding her human meat. It wasnât hard to taste the difference, notice the texture, food with meat versus food without was very different. Oh God, she was a horrible person. But, she was tired and done with fighting them. They won this battle. Fuck, theyâd won every battle so far.
A large white fridge was in a corner of the room, most likely storing human flesh. Why couldnât they be normal cattle farmers or something?Â
Her eyes slowly wandered the room. Chains, hooks, wooden beams, leaking pipes, and broken furniture, the basement was a mess. Something, she hadnât noticed her first time down there. But then again, there were other things she had been focusing on. It was a torture dungeon. A place she would have spent an unknown amount of time in, slowly dying till they ultimately killed and ate her had she not been kind. Had Thomas not taken an interest in her.Â
There was definitely more to the basement. She could see corridors and other dark areas that could be explored. So much to explore. It seemed to go on quite a bit. Did it lead to the outside somewhere back there? She wasnât sure, and there wasnât a reason to figure out and know. She wasnât going to escape. Her only hope was being found, being rescued.
A workbench caught her attention and she walked over to it. Her fingers carefully examined a chainsaw, running along the large body before hovering over the blades. What did he use that for? She swallowed hard. Sheâd never heard it being used before, but there was a forest nearby. Heâs not cutting down trees, Elizabeth, she scolded herself. Such a cruel and grotesque way to kill people. The Thomas she was growing to know seemed drastically different from the Thomas who butchered people. But at the same time, what he did to Jason was cruel and grotesque.Â
Moving past the chainsaw, she grasped a mallet, picking it up. She playfully pressed it against the palm of her hand. Heavy and firm, a perfect device to bludgeon someone. Setting it down, she ran her fingers along a few other tools before finally ending on a knife. It was the one sheâd used to kill Jason.Â
Thomasâs presence was strong as he positioned himself behind her. Undoubtedly, he was worried about her hurting herself. But, she ignored him, picking up the knife to examine it. It had gone through Jason smoothly in the end. There was no blood on it, meaning Thomas must have cleaned it. But of course he did. That was weeks ago. And judging by the look of the blade it had been sharpened. In fact, all the tools he kept around seemed to be in great condition, unlike the basement.Â
She heard him hold his breath as she ran a finger delicately on the flat edge of the blade. It was rather amusing that he was worried sheâd hurt herself. She made it seem that she was going to cut herself just to toy with him. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him reach for her. She set the knife back down as casually as she picked it up and moved away from him.
Her eyes searched, but she didnât find any sign or piles of items that belonged to their previous victims. âDo you keep their stuff?â she asked as she turned to look at him. She knew the answer, she just needed to have him say it. Much to her relief, he had taken off his human mask. He shifted his stance uncomfortably, but didnât answer.Â
She opened her mouth then closed it. There was no way around other than asking him. She absentmindedly rubbed her fingers over her right wrist. Ask him, Elizabeth!Â
Something fell in the background and they both turned, although there was no urgency. She didnât feel like she was in danger, she didnât feel a presence. Maybe it was an animal? A rat? Thomas didnât look alarmed. Didnât look like he was worried sheâd figured out heâd lied and there was someone down there. But, she didnât see Thomas as a liar.
Thomas returned his attention to her. She couldnât do it. The thought that heâd shake his head if she asked if he had her stuff just hurt too much. Taking in a deep breath she touched his arm. âThank you.â She didnât wait for him to say anything and walked upstairs.Â
If he still had her things then he would have given them to her already. She had to believe that. There was no reason not to at this point. She wasnât going anywhere. She was willingly fucking him, not complaining, not fighting back. And, although she hated admitting it, she was enjoying herself. What a life.Â
She left the basement door open since she heard him walking up behind her. She didnât keep going, instead she stopped and waited as he closed the door behind him. The clicking of the latch hitting the plate seemed to seal shut that part of the dreadful house. For now. Ignorance is bliss. She had to survive, she didnât want to go crazy. And unfortunately, that meant not thinking about random strangers who shared the same fate as Jason.
âI donât want to know,â she stated, when he finally turned to look at her. âThis one thing, I want you to lie to me about. Donât-â she paused as she felt a strain in her throat. He understood what she wanted, at least, she hoped he did. Taking in a deep breath she quickly let it out, forcing a smile to cross her face. âItâs nice, isnât it? Having the house be so quiet?â The change of subject was easy although clearly forced. But, she was done thinking about the darkness.Â
His mouth twitched, then he shook his head.Â
âDonât like quiet, huh?â she asked.Â
He nodded his head, making her giggle. He took a few steps forward, then peered down at her. His hand reached out and lightly brushed her cheek, before he pulled it back.Â
âThank you,â she said, making him cock his head to one side. âFor taking care of me, when I was sick last week. I donât think I ever said it. You didnât have to. So, thank you. And for the books youâve been giving me. I donât-â she paused and looked down at the floor before back up at him. âIâm okay with the books. I donât want anything else thatâs not new.â She hoped he understood her meaning. Just, saying the word âVictimâ it hurt to think about.Â
Clearing her throat, she tossed her head back. âI would like to go out sometime. Maybe just the two of us? It would be nice to get out of the house. Of course, not in this hot weather. Does it ever get cold around here?â
He shook his head.
âOf course it doesnât,â she said, turning her back to him as she walked away. She let out a surprised cry as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.Â
Her body twirled into his, and he wrapped his arms around her, pressing her against his own. Her eyes widened in surprise as his lips smashed into hers. There was a desperation in his kiss, in his breathing that she quickly matched with her own.Â
Alright, Thomas, alright.
He sat at the edge of the bed, slipping on his shoes before glancing back at her. She let out a content sigh and curled up under the sheet. She was such a gorgeous creature and all his. Completely now. He was still careful, he had to be. Such a delicate being. She felt so fragile in his arms as if he could break her. The more he thought about it, the more amazed he was at her own strength. Especially after what he'd done to her.
Seeing her happy made him happy. He watched her carefully, learning what he could. She didnât really talk about her old life much⌠old life. He wanted to know more about it, but he couldnât ask her. So he had to make due with watching her, studying her personality now that she was more relaxed. There had been a significant change in her demeanor, enough to ease everyone. Would she try to escape? He doubted it, but he still kept a careful eye on her, on her mood.Â
Today she surprised him. she had gone down into the basement. It didnât escape his attention how she avoided it at all costs. He couldnât exactly blame her. What he did to her down there, he knew it wasnât right. But heâd never ask for forgiveness. It lead them to where they were now. And he loved their current situation.Â
He didnât want to take her down there, worried about how she would react, but he did. Her careful examination of his workplace was interesting. Watching her fingers move carefully and delicately as they did, he wanted to grab them and kiss them. He knew she wasnât, but he felt as if she was blessing his tools with the way she touched them and handled them.
He wanted to fuck her down there. Give her a better memory than what she had. It was his room, his workplace, his peace and quiet, despite the screams and pain of his victims when they were down there. It was his pride and joy and he wanted her to like it, to accept that part of him. But, she probably wouldnât have appreciated it. So, he sat back and watched her.Â
It was the moment that she picked up the knife, the one he knew sheâd used on her traveling companion, that he slightly panicked. What if he read her wrong? What if she intended to kill herself? After all heâd gone through to win her over? Her fingers, so close to cutting themselves with the sharp blade. He had to move closer just in case. Before he could take it away from her, she had placed the knife back down and walked way. Without her notice, he quickly hid it, just in case.
It was her searching eyes, the tone of her voice that made him realize she was down there for a specific reason. He thought he had been discreet in leaving items of his various victims in their room for her to find. But she had clearly put two and two together. She wanted her things. He didnât want to give them to her. He still had them, safely stored away so that no one could mess with them. He used to go through them in the early days, especially her photo album. Staring at the images of the people she knew, how happy her life seemed like, of her brother, it made him jealous then. He had entertained the idea of giving them back to her, before he started to gift her the other items. But, what if that brought back her fighting spirit? Her rebellious nature? Or the sadness and loss of her old life? He didnât want that. Her life was with him now. She was happy. She was laughing.
Thomas leaned in and gave her cheek a kiss. She smiled and patted his arm.Â
âIâm going to nap,â she muttered and turned her back to him.Â
Staring at her back, he smiled. She was happy with him and he was happy with her. He needed to show her. And not just with sex. He needed to do something else.
He walked out of the room, quietly closing the door behind him. She mentioned wanting to go somewhere. He rarely left the house, there was no need. But now, he wanted to. Take her somewhere new just to see her reaction. Just the two of them. But where? An idea formed in his head. Oh yes, he rather liked his idea. A surprise, a pleasant one. He couldnât wait to see how sheâd react.Â
Gin shifts in bed, groaning at the nonstop noise of her phones notifications going off. Turning on her side, she tugs the pillow over her head and curls into herself, legs tight to her frame. The continuous noise of her phone going off was starting to irritate her.
"Who's messaging you on a Saturday this early?"
The voice next to her makes her let out a sleepy moan, feeling him turn in bed and wrap his arms around her waist, pulling her leg over his hip. Gin couldn't help but lazily place her hand on the top of his head and gently pet his hair. The feeling of his lips grazing her chest sent a small chill up her spine, causing a small grin to form on her lips.
"Someone's blowing up the group chat for no reason," she mutters softly, trying to relax again and fall back asleep. "Just ignore it, Yuuji."
"If you say so," he responds, nestling himself between her supple breasts and licking a stripe between them.
Gin was never the type of girl to hold long-term relationships, let alone trust anyone with her true self. But when it came to Yuuji Terushima, she'd only allow him to see a deeper side of her that other's weren't allowed to see. Helping her out through heartbreaks, saving her from sticky situations, and even being emotional support for her.
Despite being childish and energetic, Gin never had a disliking to Terushima like she did with other people. Over the years of knowing him, she developed a fondness for him, despite knowing he was a bit of a flirt. She knew it wasn't love; it was lust over everything. She trusted him more than most of the guy friends she has, and he never left her side.
Their torturous game of Cat and Mouse was fun for them. It kept Terushima on his toes and kept Gin from feeling some kind of relief in never desiring an official relationship without the problems. Luckily their little charade was never picked up by any of their friends.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
"Son of a bitch...," Gin muttered before turning slightly, feeling his arms let go of her to let her pull away.
Feeling his fingers dabble on her stomach, she slaps his hand away from her with a light laugh. She unlocked her phone and opened up her group chat ready to start typing to shut them up. But when she skimmed through the messages, her heart dropped in her chest with her eyes went wide. Looking at the time gave her a sudden jolt, tearing herself away from Terushima and jumping out of his bed.
Eyes going wide, Terushima sits up on his elbows, watching Gin run around his room gathering her things while trying to text on her phone. Panic written in her eyes and movements, making him slightly concerned over the matter. He didnât think sheâd have a shift at the bathhouse today, but she could have been called in.Â
Before he could open his mouth to ask her what was wrong, Gin looked over at him, tugging up her jeans from the previous night. âDrop me off at the Family Mart by my house!â She nearly screamed at him with urgency in her voice, then dove back to trying to find her shirt. âI-I forgot I have to be at this game for the volleyball team! Ugh! I hate everything!âÂ
Terushima couldnât help but laugh at her distress, seeing her frantically trying to get dressed. He was slightly surprised seeing her going through her overnight bag and quickly brushing her hair up in a high ponytail. She came prepared, but just for the dick appointment?Â
âWhereâs the game at?â Terushima asked, getting out of his bed and walking towards his bathroom to quickly clean himself up. âI can just-âÂ
âDonât finish that sentence!â She snapped at him before he could finish it. She walked over to him with furrowed brows, lips formed into a slight frown. âNo one can know that weâre sleeping together. Just drop me off at the Family Mart, theyâll pick me up there.âÂ
At her domineering tone, he couldnât help but laugh in amusement despite the small sharp pain in his heart. âAnd she starts demanding favors from me; Iâm flattered.â He retorts in a smug voice as he sees her face contouring from panic to anger.Â
âYuuji, I fucking swear you wonât be fucking anything for the rest of your life.â She threatens snappily, his hand going to pat the top of her head.Â
âFine, fine, Iâll take you. You owe me though.â He responds coolly with a smile. When the look of relief washes over her, he grinned the moment she turned her back. âUse that tone with me again, Iâll make sure you wonât be getting off at all.âÂ
When he shut the bathroom door, Gin felt her cheeks grow warm. Growling in irritation, she glared back at the door before texting her group chat again to let them know sheâll be there. Silently hoping Terushima wouldnât take his sweet ass time to clean himself up to just drop her off.Â
Her relationship with Yuuji Terushima is something she wanted to keep just between them. No strings, no drama, just time to get their sexual desires out of their system until the next time.
As if Lady Luck was on their side, Zanpakuto made it to the gym that their game was organized at just the right time. Quickly everyone got off the bus and was sent to the locker rooms to go change into their jerseys and uniforms. The guys obeyed what Gin ordered them to do from changing quickly to warming up and finishing up with a smidge of practice without question.Â
Gin sat back on the bench with her notebook in hand, letting out a sigh as she relaxed a bit. At least with the Psychology club, she was able to catch a break over the weekends and have her time to herself, switching to the volleyball club became a hard transition. She didnât want to wake up early in the morning, she didnât want to stay late at school later than needed before needing to go to work.Â
But a small price to pay to help out her friends with their club and beloved sport.Â
Once the game was set in play, Gin set her gaze on her team and analyzed each of their movements. Subtly taking down the needed notes of where improvements were needed and what was working for them. At some point, she caught herself getting immersed in their game, her gaze turning to their opposing team.Â
Grand Lineâs team didnât seem to take their game seriously, seeming to play the game just for fun rather than trying to win despite their ace and setter shouting at their captain to take the game seriously. But by the looks of their libero, he kept making heavy eye contact with Katakuri with every chance ball made or every save.Â
As much as Gin knew little about Katakuri through Jezebel, their rivalry was interesting. It couldnât be their height difference, this had to run deeper than just that.Â
With the first set, Zanpakuto had the game in the bag by 25:23 and broke them into a small break before switching sides. Gin couldnât help but look over at the other team handing out water bottles and towels to the guys. They talked amongst themselves as well taking their quick break of drinking water and patting off their sweat with their towels, she couldnât help but watch them.Â
They all looked so lively and in sync with each other, despite seeing the green-haired male snapping at the blond male every so often before the redhead female on their team barked at them to knock it off. Their captain seemed so childish, seeing him hop around as if he still had the energy to still be hyper.Â
She had to admit, he was slightly reminding her of a certain male in her life. Volleyball was just a game with no real goal as long as there is fun in the game.Â
âWhat are you staring at, Gin?â Tomoeâs voice fell next to her, having her glance up at him quickly before looking back at the other team. His yellowish-green eyes followed to where she was looking before grinning, âGrand Line is quite the team, arenât they?âÂ
âThey have no definitive motives or set pattern, theyâre erratic like Johzenji,â Gin noted, watching the other team interact and even laugh amongst themselves. âDespite their ace and number 3 are rivals, they work well together. Their libero is flexible with fast reflexes, which alone makes him a dangerous opponent. Their numbers 5 and 8 sure donât get along either but they know how to work as a team when it calls to it. Strange team.âÂ
Tomoe nodded his head, âIâm intrigued by their thought process. Being able to jump from nine points to twenty-three so effortlessly.â His voice drops a couple of octaves with an almost sinister gleam in his yellow-green eyes and his lips curling into a grin. âThe fear of losing could be their downfall as well as their adrenaline inducer. I canât wait to see how everything goes.âÂ
At the sound of the whistle being blown by one of the refs, each team set down their towels and water bottles before heading back onto the court. Gin collected their towels and water bottles as they ran off to the court, setting down the sweat-filled towels on the bench and taking the water bottles to get refilled. Quickly running off to the sidelines to go do just that, hauling the heavy bag with her to make it a quicker trip.Â
Knowing that Junzo can take the notes that were needed for their gameplay whilst she was briefly gone, Gin had a little ease on her time limit. Filling each water bottle with ice water with haste, she couldnât help but look back at their game. Her eyes follow the ball and watch each player doing whatever they could to keep the ball from touching the ground. The squeaking of the shoes against the waxed gym floors started to grow on her.Â
Hearing the guysâ shouting echo across the gymnasium with the lingo of the sport steadily made sense to her. Although, it did sound the same to her followed by defeated groans and excited cheers from the players. Glancing back at the game again, it amazed her how serious the guys were about the sport, the solid passion or drive to just win. Thatâs all it ever came down to was for them to win.Â
Returning to Zanpakutoâs bench with the filled bottles, Gin set back down the case before hopping back on the bench to watch the game.Â
After watching several rounds go by, Gin had the sudden urge to use the restroom. Quietly excusing herself to run to the restroom, she ran off the sides to find the nearest bathroom and to get back as soon as possible. She wasnât even sure if this was allowed, but neither their coach nor teacher advisor seemed to care.Â
The ball came fast towards Zanpakutoâs side of the net, Katakuri waiting to give Dagger and Seifer the signal to jump to block the ball. Watching Grand Lineâs number 5 spike the ball with a cross-shot, Katakuri was fast to block the ball straight down. The ball slammed against the court floor with Grand Lineâs number 11 diving to save it but was a second too late.Â
Giving Zanpakuto another point led them to serve the next round. Tomoe silently pinpointed where he wanted the ball to go as he spun the ball between his hands, mentally configuring what type of serve to give that would grant them their next point. At the sound of the refereeâs whistle, he tossed the ball in the air before giving himself a running start to run and then jump.Â
Number 3 of the Grand Line quickly took notice of the other players of Zanpakuto covering the back of their heads as their Ace served the ball. But before he could warn his other teammates, his feet moved faster trying to save the ball. The ball slammed hard against number 3âs face, hard enough to throw him out of bounds.Â
The sudden silence of the game had Gin running back to the court in fear that she missed something important. But when coming back, she saw one of Grand Lineâs players get slammed off the court by one of Tomoeâs sinister serves. Feeling her gasp get caught in her throat, her body raced towards the player as a minor timeout struck the moment he slammed into the floor and didnât immediately jump back.Â
Number 3 groaned in pain after a few moments of the initial shock washed over him, his eyes slowly opened to see an unfamiliar beautiful face looking down at him with a worried expression. She held a towel in her hand, blood staining the baby blue towelette that didnât belong to her. She wasnât Nami or Robin who came to check on him, she was Zanpakutoâs manager- That thought alone made his breath get caught in his throat and his cheeks redden.Â
âAre you okay? Tomoeâs serves arenât entirely safe to be blocking with your face.â Ginâs voice was rather emotionless with faint hints of concern written in, her eyebrows knitted together with her lips slightly turned into a frown.Â
Number 3âs nose starts to gush out more blood, his eyes staring up at her, speechless, and just nods his head in silence. She helped him sit up before pressing her towelette over his nose and having him hold his head down. Her touch was gentle when he reached his hand up to take over holding the towel to his nose, their fingers brushed as she retracted her hand from him. Her skin was soft as if her hand never tarnished from handy work.Â
At the sound of footsteps running towards them, Gin stands up with him looking up at her with an awestruck gaze. Her squinted eyes stared down at him with a subtle gentle look with her lips forming into a line.Â
âKeep your head down so the blood can flow out and you wonât choke on it.â She says in an almost sweet tone but still stony from emotion. He watched her turn on her heel to trot back over to her teamâs side of the court.Â
Holding her towel to his face made his heartbeat skip a beat with an indescribable feeling forming in his stomach. He couldnât stop staring at her, watching her walk up to their Ace and snap at him before going back to the bench. With the sound of his name being called, he looked over to see his managers, teacher advisor, and coach run up to him. They asked him the same question that Zanpakutoâs manager asked him.Â
As much as he didnât care about his current state and needed to go back to their game, he begrudgingly went with his manager to the first aid to check on his nose. Walking off with Robin leading him out of the gym with his head down, he couldnât help but look back at the manager of Zanpakuto. He wanted to know who she was and why she helped him despite being on the other team.Â
After the match with Zanpakuto winning in the end, both teams went out of the gym to a meal prepared for both teams to celebrate their good work in the courtyard. Both the teachers and coaches congratulated each other with Grand Line's teacher announcing the meal was for all of them, giving credit to their number three. When they were dismissed, everyone raced over to the tables that were neatly laid out for them.Â
The managers of both teams helped out the guys get their plates and utensils before getting their food. Everything worked out fantastic with the teams starting to mingle amongst themselves and the managers coming together.Â
Sanji stood with Luffy and Law near one of the barbecue grills, a cherry red lollipop hung out of his mouth with his ocean blue eyes trailing off to the other side of the courtyard. A small smile curled at his lips, only partially listening to Luffyâs story he was telling to mainly just Law.Â
Ever since the manager of Zanpukto helped him out, he couldnât help but want to talk to her. Although she looked aloof and wanted nothing to do with people from afar, she seemed pretty passionate about her team. He didnât know why he felt so drawn to her, she didnât do anything but she just seemed intriguing as if she was a mystery.Â
âSanji-ya, who are you staring at?âÂ
Sanji turned his head letting out a soft âhmâ as if she wasnât staring off. His ocean blue eyes shone in semi-interest towards his male friend, expressing his attention was on him now. Law stared at the blond with an expressionless gaze and his eyebrow rose.Â
âWhat?â The feigning innocence in Sanjiâs voice caused Law to roll his eyes.Â
âWhy donât you go talk to her?â Luffy asked with cheeks stuffed with meat, holding a fork of meat already close to his mouth. His onyx eyes shifted from Sanji to the manager of Zanpakuto who sat on a chair with the other manager of their team and Katakuri. âShe seems fun! She let me take the last piece of meat!âÂ
âYou still need to give back her hand towel,â Law mentioned, watching Sanji visibly shudder in his spot as if he was nervous.Â
Sanji turned to look at the pair, âI canât give her back the bloodied towel!â Sanji exclaimed with his curled eyebrows knitting upwards. âItâs filthy! A lady shouldnât take back a dirtied token!âÂ
âSheâs not a princess, Sanji-ya.â Law clicked his tongue in slight annoyance, his eyes then shifting to Luffy. âIsnât your brother dating her sister?âÂ
Luffy shrugged his shoulders, âI stay out of my brothersâ relationships when I can.â He almost sounded uncharacteristic, causing the other two to look back at him in shock. He looked back at his friends, smiling and then laughing, "I'm kidding! Ace is dating the head lady of the Baba Yaga Bath House. I dunno if they're related."Â
"They look alike," Law deadpanned, blinking his golden eyes at Luffy with his lips turned to a slight frown. He looked back at Sanji, âJust go talk to her. You never had a problem talking to girls before.âÂ
Sanji shook his head, âWhat do I even say to her without her finding me as the guy that bled on her towel?âÂ
âJust pretend sheâs Nami or Robin,â Law answered simply with a slight shrug of his shoulders before biting into his onigiri.
Before Sanji could back out again, Luffy laughed as he shoved him in the direction of Zanpakutoâs manager. Sanji stumbled forward with his arms flailing and trying to skip to a stop but ended up hopping to the middle of the courtyard. He stood up straight, looking around quickly before straightening himself up and approaching the manager.
Law had a point; How hard is it for him to talk to females?
Walking up to Gin, Sanji was ready to properly introduce himself but momentarily froze at the sight of Katakuri standing next to Ginâs seat and Junzo on her other side. Junzo was the first to take notice of Sanjiâs presence, stepping aside taking notice he wanted to talk to Gin. In mid-conversation, Katakuriâs eyes shifted to the side before narrowing down on the blond male approaching them. This caused Gin to look away from the middle blocker to the front of her to see Sanji.Â
Gin turned her head with her cheeks filled with her food, her sights focusing on Sanji. Swallowing her food, she wiped her mouth with her napkin and setting her legs back to the ground. Her cheeks warmed when her eyes met his, seeing his faint blush forming on his cheeks.
âOh hey,â Gin was the first to break the silent stare, her eyes averting away from his. âHow's your nose?âÂ
Sanji nervously laughed with a hand rubbing the back of his neck. âItâs better! Thank you for helping me out before our managers could get to me.â He smiled, his other hand going into the pocket of his gym shorts. He looked down at her, his eyes moving down to her empty plate. âHow did you like the food?âÂ
Gin waved off her friends with a grin forming on her lips. âIt was delicious! Everything was seasoned so heavenly, the meat juicy, everything was so flavorful!â She beamed happily as she leaned slightly forward in her chair. âMy compliments to the chef~âÂ
âYouâre too kind, Mademoiselle,â He sheepishly laughed with his smile growing, his heart beating faster in his chest. âIâm Sanji by the way.âÂ
âGin,â She responded before standing up to get more food. âYouâre a fantastic chef, Sanji! I canât wait to eat more of your food!âÂ
Before she could walk away, Sanjiâs shy and bashful demeanor immediately flipped. âI can get more for you! It wonât be any problem, and youâre probably parched too.â He offered in a gentlemanly manner, holding his hand out to take her plate from her.Â
Looking down at his offering hand and then back up at his eyes, Gin felt her heart grow warm. As she was used to Tomoe being chivalrous towards her but from Sanji, it felt different and gentle. She couldnât tell whether she liked it or loved it in a sadistic manner. Sanji seemed nice anyways, and if he was willing to get her more food, she wouldnât mind it.Â
âWill you?â He nodded, âThank you. More meat please and light ice on the drink.â She sheepishly handed him her plate with her gaze averting away from him.Â
Sanji motioned her to sit back down before walking off with her plate humming. There was almost a bounce in his walk as he went towards the grills to fetch her more meat, a smile curling at his lips with his heart racing in his chest. Excited to be serving a pretty girl food and getting the chance to talk to her.Â
From his other teammates, they watched Sanji yet again be bossed around by another girl. But of course, Sanji doesnât mind it at all. Women always came first for him and heâll do anything to get an appraisal from them, or even a chance to maybe get noticed by them. Nami couldnât help but sigh upon seeing Sanjiâs puppy-like state, swearing that if he had a tail, heâd be wagging it.Â
Throughout the rest of the cookout, Sanji sat with Gin and talked to her. As she was listening to one of Sanjiâs stories about one of their games with Johzenji, her phone started to buzz in her jacket pocket. While letting him know she was still listening and that she needed to check her phone for work, he happily continued.Â
Upon unlocking her phone, she saw she had several messages from Terushima and a few followed by the Miya twins. There was a singular message from her sister letting her know the game plan for when she comes into work that night. Gin let out a sigh before typing back a quick response to the twins and then looking back at Sanji with her full attention on him.
But soon their time together had to come to an end when both teacher advisors and coaches told both teams it was time to leave. While helping to clean up, Gin had given Sanji her number before going off to stay with her team. But before Sanji could attempt to ask her out on something to date, Tomoe and Anzai appeared on either side of her and tossed a threatening glare back toward the spiker.Â
Later on that night, Gin was now at the token counter at Baba Yagaâs with a bored look in her eyes. It was one of the slower nights at the bathhouse, giving her time to finish up homework and study for a bit. It was enough to keep her busy in between guests and distract her from wandering over to the front to talk to Jezebel who worked at the reception desk.Â
But that was only if she had something to keep her busy.Â
Before their late-night activities, Gin finished up her homework with Terushima and even did a quick pop quiz. The perks of having an intelligent best friend that acted like a horny frat boy, lucky her. So she didnât have any school work to do; let alone, she left her stuff over at his place due to being late.Â
Behind the counter, Gin wasnât allowed to be on her phone. Rarely ever had the chance to check her phone due to guests always coming up asking for bath tokens or help to find their rooms. But tonight, it was painfully slow with the exception of the Miya Twins being in the bathhouse. But shockingly, they even left her alone.Â
That night Jezebel wasnât scheduled to work, so she was really bored and alone.Â
Leaning on the desk, Gin let out a sigh before dropping her head and letting her ponytail fall over her shoulder. She could go bother the twins if she wanted to but she wasnât sure if they were in the baths, hot springs, or in their room. But at the same time, she didnât want Atsumu to start jumping to conclusions and to start thinking she was into them.Â
Just before she could entirely leave her post to take a âbathroomâ break, Ginâs phone vibrated a few times on her side of the desk. Leaning back and sitting down in the swivel chair, she looked down at her phone to the lock screen of Grimmjow lighting up with text notifications popped up. Leaning up slightly to look around, she pulled herself into the desk in the chair before picking up her phone.Â
She knew she shouldnât look at her phone, but she was dying of boredom.
NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 8 Ep. 139: A Fiery Fiend
Peachyâs transition back to the work-a-day world was much less âphone it inâ. He dove eagerly into his first case after leave: an arson in Bridgeview.
He carefully collected his evidence for later analysis and interviewed the disgruntled homeowner. The sim was certain that his ex-girlfriend was to blame, spinning a tale of his exâs fiery temper and her final threat to âburn this house downâ when he kicked her out in the middle of their last fight.
It was obvious to the young captain that the man was hardly an impartial witness, but heartbreak was a solid motive to follow up on.
---------------------------------------------
Once he started digging into that evidence and checking out the story from their neighbors, Peachy quickly found more evidence than he needed.
It looked like this wasnât the first time the homeownerâs ex had tried to make good on a final threat, and the neighbors across the street even had a security camera that showed her leaving the house right after the fire started. He went to pick her up for questioning.
---------------------------------------------
Locating his suspect in a lounge in Komorebi, Peachy wasted no time making an arrest. The girl seemed highly offended that her early night was interrupted, and he carefully kept the mood light and let her complain and talk freely.
Once in the interrogation room he carefully referenced the fight with the victim to see what his suspect would volunteer. The fiery girl made it abundantly clear that she considered the arson the âperfect responseâ to the disrespect her ex had shown her during the breakup. She went into detail on how she just wished she had thought to shut off the fire suppression system to âreally show himâ.
Peachyâs job here was done. This sim didnât seem to understand the seriousness of her crime, but her lawyer and the judge would take it from here.
---------------------------------------------
Once heâd completed filing his case report Peachy grabbed Fabian and headed upstairs to their favorite spot on the rooftop.
As their cauldron bubbled Peachy told his buddy about his latest win and his hope that it would put him over the edge of that promotion heâd almost earned before his leave. Once he was a Colonel, heâd be positioned to finish clearing the chief as an obstacle to stopping Nancy Landgraab.
Fabian had some exciting news of his own to share. Heâd taken Jackâs advice and broached the topic of kids with his girlfriend. Sheâd decided she was also ready to start a family and they hoped to have a little one soon. Peachy wished him the best of luck and looked forward to introducing their kids.
---------------------------------------------
Peachyâs promotion sense had been right on the money, and he ended the day officially a Colonel.
Arriving home, he shared the good news with Jack, who was in the nursery watching over their little napping angel. They wanted to celebrate, and Peachy had the best idea for the doting pair of new fathers. The baby monitorâs range reached to the edge of the bay behind their house, so they could take a short walk and do some fishing without ever losing sight of Luigi, who would wake for an evening bottle shortly.
The look on Jackâs face told his husband how much he appreciated the suggestion of a low-key, family friendly way to recognize Peachyâs accomplishment. After one final check to make sure their boy was sleeping soundly, they headed down to the fishing hole behind the homestead.
---------------------------------------------
During their walk they came upon a giant leaf pile and Jack mentioned that it would be fun to play in the leaves with Luigi someday. With a sly smile Peachy suggested they didnât need to wait for Luigi to be old enough to come with them to enjoy the fall foliage.
Jack melted into Peachyâs deep and meaningful kiss before allowing himself to be pulled into the leaves for some fun that was just for the grown-ups. One explosively good time later they exited their hide-a-way all smiles and proceeded down to the water to try their hand at catching dinner.
When it comes to a show like FROM, where every answer spawns three new questions, no one keeps us on the edge of our seats quite like Catalina Sandino. I had the pleasure of speaking with the powerhouse actress about the FROM Season 3 Finale, and let me tell you, she brought the same energy and intrigue that makes her character Tabitha unforgettable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ao9lmIOaus If youâre not caught up yet, grab a snack and some emotional support because spoilers are coming faster than the man in yellow can swing a knife. Tabithaâs Big Twist: Reincarnation Revelation One of the finaleâs biggest jaw-droppers was the reveal that Tabitha is the reincarnation of Miranda. Yup, the writers really said, âLetâs bend minds today!â Catalina admitted that the twist made her do âmental gymnastics,â and honestly, same. âI mean, it all makes sense,â she said, reflecting on Tabithaâs tender relationship with Victor from the start. âItâs brilliant because theyâve been building to this since season one. The motherly moments, the calming presenceâit all clicks now that we know who she really is.â Itâs wild to think about how much Tabithaâs character has been foreshadowing this twist. Catalinaâs genuine awe at the storytelling reminded me why FROM fans are so hooked. The Tragic Death of Jim And then thereâs Jimâs death. The man just wanted to figure out whose voice was on the radio, but curiosity doesnât just kill cats because it takes down dads too. âItâs going to be heartbreaking,â Catalina said. âTabitha has lost a child, and now a husband. How is she supposed to keep going?â https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsD5qP1WqKt5Do-oklc04OLEHN3n8K7VE She hinted that Tabithaâs journey forward will be an emotional rollercoaster. Between grieving Jim, dealing with her kids (oneâs apparently lighting up behind her back), and leading the charge for survival, Tabithaâs plate is fuller than a buffet on Thanksgiving. Whatâs Next for Tabitha? So what does Catalina hope to see for Tabitha in a potential Season 4 (knock on wood)? âThis is something Iâve been thinking about,â she shared. âShe has to cope while being the responsible parent, but itâs going to be tough for the family.â While she didnât spoil anything, she expressed hope that some of the events might just be nightmares. A little dream-sequence magic wouldnât hurt, right? The Mystery That Keeps on Giving Catalina also dove into the mysteries sheâs most intrigued by. âThe kids and the symbols. Why are they there? What do they mean?â she asked. Honestly, same, Catalina. Same. Her theory? Well, sheâs not much of a theorizer herself. âIf I rationalize it all, it takes away the surprise. I just go with the flow and let the story unfold,â she explained. Why Weâre All FROM Obsessed What stands out most about Catalina Sandino Moreno is how much she appreciates the showâs layered storytelling. Even as a performer, sheâs constantly surprised by the twists. Itâs this level of unpredictability that keeps us tuning in week after week. Catalinaâs passion for her role and the series as a whole shines through, making it clear why Tabithaâs journey resonates with fans. Final Thoughts As we say goodbye to FROM Season 3, the lingering mysteries, emotional gut-punches, and Catalina Sandino Morenoâs stellar performance leave us hungry for more. Whether itâs uncovering the truth about those creepy kids or figuring out whatâs next for Tabitha, one thing is certain: FROM isnât done playing with our emotions. Catalina, youâve left us shaken (in the best way possible). Letâs hope we see you and the gang back in Season 4, unraveling more mysteries and breaking our hearts all over again. Â
