got a real gem in the mail today - Fatal Zero Action, a 3D hack-n-slash rogue lite Fate doujin game released by Light's in 2012. you can play as Saber, Kiritsugu, or Rider from Fate Zero

the difficulty ramps up a lot but every time you die you get skill points that can be used to permanently unlock certain things (like increasing your health, increasing the skill slots you have, etc)

SFW Images from the hentia Doujinshi Sailor Moon game by Mermaid - "Axis: Dreaming Story World" for the PC-98.

There was a bit of a kerfuffle a few years ago trying to find any information on whether or not this was a real PC-98 game. Since then, someone has uploaded in-browser versions of the game to various NSFW visual novel sites.

It's not worth looking up. These are the only SFW images in the game as far as I was able to google, and the rest of it is pretty gross from the snippets I've seen. Typical 'You play as a badly intentioned dude creeping on girls' kind of eroge.

But these images are cute and I like the colour scheme.

A horizontal scrolling shoot 'em up game, the player must avoid opponent's bullets and shoot back at to progress through the stages and beat each boss, and get the highest score possible. Each enemy drop bonuses when hit and the player can chose to throw the companion to hit groups of enemies.

The game follows a story that plays through 6 levels, featuring bosses and mid-bosses, there are 7 playable characters (some of them lockable) all comes with their different magic and bullet patterns.

Featured Characters:

『Personal Review 〜 One of the best UKGK fangames. The music is good, the graphics are correct with cute pixelated sprites and portraits of each character who are all voiced. The lockable characters makes the game somewhat replayable, new enemies are introduced with as the player progresses through the game and all the bosses have different attacks and mechanics, making each level unique and offering a bit of a challenge. The animated intro and song is the cherry on top.』

looking for lost media - Secret Garden

thought I'd make a formal post - I'm looking for a doujin d.gray-man fangame that was made in Japanese by the doujin circle moonlight cafe. the circle no longer has any online presence and the game is lost media.

things we know about the game:

was made by the doujin (i.e. indie) circle moonlight cafe, who produced at least 2 other d.gray-man fangames before this one (Strange house, which I own and will release soon, and Infinite Melody, which is also lost media aside from the guide book)

originally released December 29th 2011

LaviYuu sound novel / visual novel (sound novel is an older term that visual novels are sometimes called in Japan)

the old moonlight cafe was this site when they were making Strange house, but this site somewhat still works

most of this info comes from the only source of info I have found for this game, which is a suruga-ya store listing. I've yet to see the game pop up anywhere else.

we also have this fuller image of the key visual which was uploaded to photobucket some years ago with no helpful description.

I would love to find a physical copy of this for sale on any Japanese secondhand sites but haven't yet. I have yet to search on torrent sites or the like, so if you know of any JP places where someone may have uploaded the original game, please let me know. this game and basically everything about the circle is lost media so I'd like to preserve this bit of history.

Second Bound Prince research essay.

"Why is there a second one", "why did you make two seprate ones that are completely diff levels of quality" I got bored. I like to research a 2005 - 2012 doujin flash game, so two were made when I found new imformation.

I started my research at 4am on the 10/01/25 and I am still researching into 12/01/25 due to me enjoying the peak mystery that comes from researching this type of thing. I didn't like to play the game due to some of the topics but I like the people who were dedicated in making and translating it as it's a great bit of fandom culture that really shows you what these spaces were like if you weren't active.

Also It gave me a reason to look into livejournal again. I am thinking of doing something with fanlore as this would be liked on there but I need to learn how to use it, and what it's like.

So, enjoy the 3,317 words and the imformation that took hours to get and than write into such a google doc. Enjoy!! If theres a tag I should add or remove, just tell me and I will.

Someone uploaded the final patches for the Mai-Hime fanmade fighting game.

There's an upload of the game itself on Internet Archive.

It's not a perfect upload since it's missing some of the files for the manual, but the movelist is there. To patch it to 1.02, you just drop the files in the folder.
