'We were at the ARIAs…and her dressing room was next to ours and we get this knock on the door,' Dougy recounted. 'She was like "Hey", you know, "I'm a big fan" blah, blah, blah, 'And she goes "Ahh it's my boyfriend's birthday soon I wanna give him a present - here's a piece of paper, can you please write down the lyrics to Sweet Disposition, sign it, I wanna give it to him"
This story ran 27 January 2015 (x) 10 days after Taylor posted a photo of the signed lyrics in her kitchen:
The Daily Mail referred to a video, as did Pedestrian, who also tagged their post Harry Styles with a Swift pun, however the video doesn't actually tell the story. (I feel like I have seen it but can't find it now.) However they also retold this story on their TikTok 23 January 2025 ...oddly nearly on the 10 year anniversary of the first time they told it.

Not so Sweet Disposition? The Temper Trap reveal Taylor Swift asked them for handwritten lyrics to hit song…proving then-beau Harry Styles inked wrong lyrics on arm
Daily Mail 28 January 2015 (x) and Pedestrian TV 27 January 2015 (x) Harry Styles has been caught over an apparent tattoo blunder after Australian band The Temper Trap told Pedestrian TV the One Direction band member has the wrong lyrics inked on his arm.
'Harry Styles has got the wrong lyrics tattooed - he's got like a portion of the pre-chorus of Sweet Disposition…but it's wrong,' frontman Dougy Mandagi said in the video.
In April 2012, the then 18-year-old heartthrob inked the phrase 'won't stop 'till we surrender' instead of 'won't stop to surrender'. When Harry started dating popstar Taylor Swift, around October, reports say she pointed out the lyrics of the 2009 hit song were wrong, but Harry didn't believe her.
So when the then 22-year-old singer bumped into the band backstage at the ARIA Awards in Sydney, in November of the same year, she asked them for handwritten and signed lyrics of the song.
'We were at the ARIAs…and her dressing room was next to ours and we get this knock on the door,' Dougy recounted. 'She was like "Hey", you know, "I'm a big fan" blah, blah, blah,
'And she goes "Ahh it's my boyfriend's birthday soon I wanna give him a present - here's a piece of paper, can you please write down the lyrics to Sweet Disposition, sign it, I wanna give it to him"
'So I had this dilemma in my mind at that point - "do I write the wrong lyrics? Do I write the right lyrics?",' Dougy laughed.
'I kept it real, I wrote the right lyrics man', he added, prompting drummer Toby Dundas to joke: 'And they broke up soon after'.
After a whirlwind romance the pair called it quits over a row on holidays in January. However, it could be said, that Taylor never intended to give the lyrics to Harry as a gift but rather to prove she was right.
In March 2013, a source told UK newspaper, The Daily Star, that 'Harry didn't have a clue' about the incorrect wording and was especially embarrassed when Taylor proved him wrong.
'He wouldn't accept he was wrong until she asked The Temper Trap at the ARIA Awards back in November,' the unnamed source told the publication.
'Harry was so embarrassed he made Taylor promise not to tell anyone but that's all changed now they've split up.
'Taylor knows just how sensitive Harry is about it so she's planning to mock him in a new song,' they added. A number of songs on the American popstar's 1989 album are believed to be about the pair's brief but intense relationship, although nothing specific about this tattoo has been decoded in her song lyrics.
Meanwhile, the now four-piece Australian band still get a giggle out of the whole story - laughing together heartily at the end of the short video.
As The Temper Trap finish up on their next album, they've partnered up with sports brand New Balance for a series of behind-the-scenes videos.

The Temper Trap, Trembling Hands, acoustic, 2 012
Superbly soft acoustic version of an already very good song by the Australian band The Temper Trap and its powerful and delicate Indonesian/Australian singer and guitarist Dougy Mandagi, proof of the excellence of Australia in its immigration management, Muslim included, until...something went slightly wrong some years ago, allowing radicalization to proliferate, and terror attacks to quite frequently occur.
Remember that one of the first attacks of the horrible series the West is under happened in Sydney at the end of 2 014 at the Lindt Café.
The brilliant Imam Tawhidi, whom I have often spoken about, warns us over and over, facing, as we are so many to have to do, the neo-collaborationnists (Twitter of Imam Tawhidi here).

I happened to catch the final third of 500 Days of Summer on television the other day. I wasn’t really meaning to, since I’ve already watched the rom-com flick countless times over the years, but I couldn’t help myself, especially since I love the soundtrack for the film, too. Of course, everyone remembers Sweet Disposition, and how the timeless hit propelled The Temper Trap to the top of everyone’s playlists that year. It’s such a well loved song, I’d say it takes much courage and bravado to take it upon yourself to remix the track. But that’s exactly what Midnight Kids has done, and their re-imagining of Sweet Disposition is a wondrous beauty, to say the least. The emerging electronic duo, who have been creating astir lately with their ace remixes, have turned The Temper Trap’s song into a heart-bursting, life-affirming electro/progressive dance anthem without taking anything away from Dougy Mandagi’s spectacular vocals. Whenever something gets you down, turn to this remix and it’ll remind you of the big picture. After spring comes summer, and after summer comes autumn, just like in the movie. Surrender yourself to Midnight Kids in the meantime, and all will be well. The remix is a free download, here.

New Track: Louis Baker - Gave It All Away
New Track: Louis Baker – Gave It All Away
LOUIS BAKER shares new single ‘Gave It All Away’, which follows two breathtaking songs ‘Fade’ and ‘Rainbow’ and a year of co-writing and songwriting sessions abroad. ‘Gave It All Away’ has been released as two different versions: one is a strikingly raw, acoustic recording by Baker, and the other is an electronic dance track produced by none other than Fat Freddy’s Drop legend behind the MPC, Mu.

Interview with Lo Moon
We had the pleasure of interviewing Matt Lowell of Lo Moon over Zoom video! Known for delivering enticing and atmospheric soundscapes comprising ethereal guitar work, yearning lyrics, and resonant synths, Lo Moon are an alternative pop/rock outfit based in Los Angeles, California. Made up of frontman Matt Lowell (guitar/vocals), Crisanta Baker (synth/bass/samples), Sam Stewart (guitar), and Sterling Laws (drums), the group first appeared on the scene in the latter half of 2016, although the project had been evolving for many years prior. Lo Moon's self-titled debut album appeared in 2018 and charted in the Top Five of Billboard's Heatseekers chart, and the band returned in 2022 with sophomore their full-length, A Modern Life. Around 2011, principal songwriter Lowell had begun planting the seeds of what would become the project’s first single, "Loveless." The track went through many changes in terms of lyrics, sound, and length. During this time, Lowell relocated from his native New York to Los Angeles, where he encountered Baker and Stewart, and Lo Moon became a collaborative effort. With Baker and Stewart's talents and input, "Loveless" wound up being a seven-minute epic that sprawling and transcended light and dark, both lyrically and aurally. After putting out the song online, it began to garner widespread attention and praise from the likes of Beats 1 Music and frontman Dougy Mandagi. Many also began to draw comparisons to fellow atmospheric acts with weighted songwriting under their belt -- from and to the and. However, the band decided to hold back in delivering further material and let "Loveless" stand as the sole representation of their sound for quite some time. During this "hibernation period," the track's demo was eventually passed on to producer, and former guitarist. Impressed with the layered sound palette and the band's approach to the writing process, went on to help produce their debut album after they signed with. The activity was also rife outside of the studio, with the ensemble going on to open for, Muna, and, both in the U.S. and overseas. Lo Moon's eponymous debut full-length arrived in February 2018. The band's second single, "This Is It," charted in the Top Ten of Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart, and the album peaked at number four in the Heatseekers chart. Non-album single "For Me, It's You" appeared in 2018, and touring drummer Sterling Laws became a full-time bandmember later in the year. The band returned in 2021 with the single "Dream Never Dies," which made the Top 40 of the AAA chart. Lo Moon's second album, A Modern Life, appeared on in 2022. The band described the album as being about survival, and the struggle to find an identity. We want to hear from you! The Temper Trap @ The Commodore
// JUNE 2ND, 2010
Joining thousands (I'm sure Whistler must be a ghost-town tonight) for the completely sold out gig, we were all treated to a textbook, non-stop delivery of nearly every track off their fantastic debut album "Conditions" including "Rest", "Fader", "Down River", "Soldier On" and their international hit "Sweet Disposition".

The highlight for just about everyone in the room, was definitely their final song of the regular set as they combined the haunting track "Resurrection" with the raw, rhythmic power of "Drum Song" which turned into a good old jam session with lead man Dougy Mandagi joining in with his own water covered floor tom at the front of stage. Awesome!
With the boys leaving the stage after the last song, the crowd made it more than blatantly obvious that they wanted more, stomping on the wooden ballroom floor with purpose in a way that I've not experienced at The Commodore before. Apparently, there were glasses falling off tables, so that should give you an idea of how much the place was rocking! It was like the spirit of "Drum Song" leaped off the stage and manifested itself in the crowd... ok, that's deep, even by my standards! Haha!
A well received encore performance which featured a new single, "Rabbit Song", was the perfect way to end the night and I, along with my friends in attendance (Chris, Andrea, Hazel & Andrew) all went home with ringing ears and big smiles – the result of a really enjoyable night out.
Here's a few pics from the night...

An interesting read on the struggle of the lead singer of The Temper Trap. Due to hoping around as a kid Dougy generally doesnt express his heritage as much as some previous artists research, generally having a more western approach to the industry. Which in turn is not bad as the focus is music and not this idea of “diversity sells”. Theres still an expression of self identity as his sorrowful for his relatives but it seems to be more subtle out of respect, as he generally seems to be perceived as an australian within his australian band.
