Too lazy to take photos of my fanart like a normal person so here's fanart for a Bow/Double Trouble fanfic called Take a Bow in the form of a tiktok I made last week

I have a couple more but they're so skribbly that I am literally the only person who knows what they are

DYou know those videos by the guy who’s username I can’t spell, the series titled “What your favorite (insert piece of media here) ship says about you”? He’s done videos for She-ra, Miraculous Ladybug, Harry Potter, My Hero Academia, and a bunch of others.

Well, as someone who frequents that part of the She-ra fandom that latched onto Double Trouble the minute they were introduced, I had an idea like the hack I am. This is heavily based on those videos. So without futher ado, this is what your favorite ship involving Double Trouble says about you (most of this is a joke, so don’t expect it to be completely accurate).

Copycat (Catra/Double Trouble): Okay there’s actually a lot of variation with you guys, but a lot of you saw that scene where DT manages to make Catra laugh and went, “I’d like more of this and if the show won’t give it to me then I’ll write it myself.”

“Catradora” (Catra/DT pretending to be Adora): You’re just here for the angst.

Doubleblue (Double Trouble/Peekablue): You had ONE revelation about the nature of the abilities of a character who’s never been seen onscreen, and the whole thing spiraled from there.

Sea Trouble (Double Trouble/Sea Hawk): You love a theater kid with destructive hobbies so much that one day you were like, “You know what’s better than one theater kid with destructive hobbies? Two theater kids with destructive hobbies.”

DoubleBow (Bow/Double Trouble): You believe that every mean or manipulative character needs a ray of sunshine to balance them out.

Wrong Trouble (Double Trouble/Wrong Hordak): This is basically the same joke as DoubleBow but with the added bonus that WH is naive as fuck. Also you’re probably in on that “DT starts a theater troupe with the clones” headcanon. 

Double Glimmer (Glimmer/Double Trouble): You are a firm believer in the inherent eroticism of trolling. Like even more so than everyone else on this list.

Double Catradora (Catra/Adora/Double Trouble):You guys are just really horny.

Doubledak (Double Trouble/Hordak): You will take “this person could have easily killed this other person but they didn’t” as a sign of love.

Huntrouble (Huntara/Double Trouble): I know there’s at least one of you on Ao3, and you are the kind of person who tries to be original and somehow manages to make something that kind of makes sense given the circumstances.

Entrouble (Double Trouble/Entrapta): You just want to see what happens when you combine the only two characters with no explicit moral code. Probably disaster, but you knew that.

DoublePrime (Double Trouble/Horde Prime): I’m pretty sure none of you take this seriously, but all of you are really kinky.

That’s all of the ones I could think of, probably not all of them. I’ll add more if anyone asks me to.

Do you have more hc's for Doublebow? I love this ship, it's so sad that there are not more content of it

For some reason I have trouble imagining DT really talking with anyone. Not that they wouldn't, if someone managed to get past their defenses - I just can't think of actual dialogue for a lot of their ships. Every time I try, the DT in my head just teases the other person and evades any attempts at getting in their head. They don't take the conversation, or the other person, seriously. Not without serious pressure. But not Bow. Bow is a smart cookie, which isn't to say none of the other characters are smart. He's just smart in a people way. He uses his smarts to mediate disagreements and keep his friends together. Meanwhile, DT uses their people smarts to pry people apart. I'd love to see them go head to head - him trying to get to their heart and convince them to be a better person, them trying to thwart and frustrate him to the point of giving up.

I can so clearly picture them getting into philosophical discussions about morality. Bow is definitely Good, while DT stands in the Neutral zone with their big toe poking over the Evil line. They can do good things, but rarely for the right reasons. They can do evil things, and enjoy them, but doing evil isn't their raison d'être - more like an indulgent treat. Bow would be turning in circles trying to reconcile the cruel, conniving spy who helped the Horde take over a kingdom and then stabbed his now-friend Catra in the back, all with a smile on their face... with the casual, amiable, funny and fun-loving theater fan they are the rest of the time. He'd try so hard to figure them out. And they would try to stop him - but more for love of the chase rather than a lack of respect for him. And then later because he's actually starting to succeed, and they're starting to fear being understood. Because they're starting to like him, despite their better judgment. And if he comes to understand them, he'll know how bad they really are. And then he'll reject them, because no one as good as him could like someone as bad as them. And that would hurt, which isn't fair, because he's the one who started trying to open them up in the first place, and he'll be the one to leave in disgust when he doesn't like what he finds. At least that's what they expect.

But Bow is a persistent guy, so... who really knows?

Little things:

Bow defending them. About anything. Something small, even. Them being confused and frustrated about it. They've always looked after themself, because no one else would. What are they supposed to do when someone does?

Instruments. He seems to know violin and lute; they've got piano at the least. They can make lovely music together.

DT encouraging his musical talents. He's been very focused on his tech skills and fighting skills, but now that the war is over, he really should just relax and reconnect with his hobbies. They're good at relaxing.

Analyzing people. Bow goes at it with a compassionate approach, DT exploitative. "Poor guy, he's going through a rough patch" vs. "He's really vulnerable right now; shame if someone took advantage of that." It leads to some conflicts, but also to understanding each other's minds better. DT starts to appreciate how Bow sees the best in people, despite themself. Bow starts to understand that they constantly feel at risk of their weaknesses being exploited, and that's why they feel the need to preemptively find others' weaknesses first.

DT starting impromptu musical numbers, usually with Sea Hawk, and bothering Bow until he joins in.

Bow showing a polite interest in their species. Getting used to the traits he used to think were strange. Finding cute little lizard things to coo over.

Bow realizes they're cold-blooded and starts giving them thick blankets and warm cuddles every night.

N/S/F/W warning: Bow treats them really well in bed. Like, better than they've ever been treated. So well they don't know how to handle it. They've always done it fast and rough - thought they liked it that way. They never experienced the alternative.

There are so many songs written about rainbows, & what’s on the other side, b/c rainbows are magic & possess energies that can make the impossible possible. And if one encounters a double rainbow, that’s twice the impossible possibilized (😏). Hawaii has far more rainbows than we do in Minnesota (& slightly warmer winters) but the double rainbow displayed during yesterday’s #popup storm was breathtaking & reminiscent of a glorious rainy-season #doublebow (the pics don’t do justice). They’re both DRAMATIC and PETTY and KINDA MEAN. Mermista would be something of the straight man to DT’s quips and jokes, and they could both revel in chaos and destruction together. We revisit my Mermista-Catra-DT mean girls AU.

3. Entrapta

Chaotic Neutral x Chaotic Neutral is.... SO good you guys listen I LOVE CN x CN ships. I do think DT was genuinely interested in meeting Entrapta AND genuinely let down when they didn’t get the chance to. An individual with a flair for the dramatic could use someone to rig some explosions for them, from time to time, and I AM married to the hc that they love the sound of their own voice, so with Entrapta as a demonstrably good listener I think that’d work well. Plus, they’d totally enable each other’s chaotic tendencies.

4. Bow, and I CANNOT find the fic that inspired this ship (ao3′s tagging system is pristine so I’m inclined to fear that the author took it down)

But basically the gist of it is that DT’s reaction to other’s problems is

and the idea of shipping a hypo-empathetic character with a hyper-empathetic character is.... tasty. Bow would continuously try to convince DT to become a better person, to learn the lessons of love and camaraderie, to improve, while DT would be relentless in their attempts to corrupt Bow and seduce him to the dark side. Which side shall win? And will they make out about it (the answer is yes)?

Oh, absolutely no question, Bow is completely on top of his game. I think one of the reasons that DT might be drawn to Bow is that Bow is just as good at reading people as Double Trouble is. Maybe Bow’s even better at it in some respects.

I just think it would be so funny if DT was like “You know, I think hiding my crush on you was my finest performance yet.”

And Bow casually goes “Oh, I knew for about three months before you said anything” and then casually rattles off all DT’s tells (including a couple DT didn’t even know they had) until DT just kisses him because they’re like “finally, my equal”

Shoutout to Trouble, who would never admit it out loud, but is very, very flustered.

Hey, doublebow guy again, I was just imagining how it would play out, the two of them slowly working towards that moment where Bow can be as sappy and affectionate as he feels and DT becoming willing to receive it (and give it back) the question is how that would shake out; do you think it’d be an anguished declaration of love when one of them’s in danger or something quieter like a vulnerable conversation when one of them is working in something?

I'm leaning toward anguished declaration of love, because 1) I want that Drama and 2) I think something like that is what it would take for DT to take anyone seriously as a romantic option. I feel like they'd start the relationship seeing it as nothing more than fun - not a responsibility, not something deep and important, probably not even long-term. Just a fun way to pass the time. I think it would take Bow cracking and telling them they're important to him, and that if he's not important to them then what are they even doing in the relationship? He doesn't want to give his heart to someone who doesn't really want it. And that would force them to analyze their own feelings and be really honest for once and start taking things more seriously because, surprise, they don't want to lose him.

Or BETTER, anguished declaration immediately followed by a quiet vulnerable conversation where they figure out what the heck DT's problem is with emotional intimacy.
