Dorothea Benton Frank's book Queen Bee is the story of a young woman, Holly, who is trying to take care of her Mother and her bees. She also takes care of the 2 young boys that live across the street in an unofficial capacity. Her life has become entwined with the two boys since their Mother died unexpectantly and she has set her sights on their father. But as so often happens in life all of that changes suddenly. The boy's father gets married, Holly's sister, Leslie, has left her husband and she returns home. I liked the story but it was definitely not my favorite Dorothea Benton Frank novel. I would recommend it to those that like Women's fiction, Contemporary fiction and books that are set in the low country South Carolina books.

TS.  By now fans around the world have heard about Dorothea Benton Frank’s passing earlier this month. A rare blood cancer swiftly took her life at age 67. When I interviewed Dorothy Benton Frank back in 2015 it was a large feather in my cap as I had been a fan for decades. I found her warm and friendly, much like her stories. As a tribute to this wonderful story teller, I have resurrected that interview so that we might once again enjoy her humor and inspiration. You and your stories will be sorely missed, Dorothea.
