I'm a new Love Scramble player with very weak Japanese and your tutorial has been a god send. I have all sorts of questions but the one that I'm stuck on is how to get the books to evolve certain cards. Specifically the pink books with the little icons in the bottom left corner. I think they're related to events (2 of the cards are from the Shields as cops gacha and have the same icon) but I have no idea how to get the books to evolve. Can you please help? Thanks!

Hello! I’m happy to know this was well worth the effort (and temporary loss in sanity) in doing. My crapanese is strong so I feel ya *pats shoulder* I’m lucky to remember anything I learned when I took those 2 semesters of Japanese many, many beans. Now, to your question~ (WARNING: Photo heavy!)

These are the books you’re talking about:

>.> Yes, I hoard and so should you! Why? Because you can only get them from the event at certain point levels. Once the event is over, that’s it. This is the sad, but genius financial ploy that the Voltage gods have set before is all to spend gems to get energies and point boosts during that time. For iOS users not in the Japanese market, it is a cursed blessing not to be able to spend for gems (because who has money like that?). But, for those that got the app through the Android third party markets, it is a cursed blessing to be able to actually spend for gems (because who needs food right?).

I recommend you save all the books you earn as you must learn from this terrible moment I gave myself. Remember that you can still possibly draw an event card after the event has passed. After the Alice in Wonderland event, I decided to use my 3-star bunny books to level up some cards. The next day, I drew The Mad Hatter Ishigami in he gacha and discovered I used the 4 crucial books I needed to awaken him. Don’t me like me. Use those gems for space or sell the extra juice bottles and coin cards they keep giving us at event these days. Once you finally use those books, you’ll gain back some space. Space in the card inn is so important! T-T *ahem* Moving on…

Now, you can replay select events of the past! However, there are some things that are different from the initial release. I explain.

First off, you need to find this banner: (sorry, boss! I get you new shirt and jacket! XD)

That banner with Epic Saizo on it will lead you to the list of currently available past event. This is also where you’ll have to go to get to the event you plan to redo: (Please excuse the squished fuzziness of this, but I didn’t want to have a huge list of banner things. Gomen…)

As you can see, there have been a lot of events since the beginning and they include the birthday ones and some even I missed because taking breaks is important. Now, each one can be replayed for 25 gems and you get 10 days to get through it as best you can. And you can replay more than one event at a time! For those of us that aren’t made of gold, playing a current event and a replayed event would be well beyond our means as it is. Thankfully, there is no event at the time of this post, but more power to those that will attempt more than one replay event AND current event. *dies just thinking about that* 

Here’s how the list will look like with the current past event you’re replaying with the day you it ends. 

Each event has the info page for that one with the cards related to the event listed. There’s also a points list to show what you get at which point level before you spend the preciously hoarded gems. 

Here is how the event screen looks like when you redo one. Yes, I spent the gems to do this since it was asked. I need the books for these cards so it’s ok :)

As you can see, there’s no rank here. It’s all solo work so all you need to concern with is the amount of points you gain as you go on. Again, the day and time of expiration is also there so you can keep track of your 10 days.

This is the list of points and items for those of us that can’t read Japanese. This can be found poking the purple button next to where your points are shown.

These are the random items you’ll get for each round.

Here’s the caveat to repeating a past event:

Event card still count in these do overs. If you or someone you know have them, they will boost your point count but the percentage won’t show like in the event. (I’ll post the photo of that when I get to work)

No fever tickets will be gifted. You have to purchase them if you want that gung ho kick to boost your pointage.

Reading the intermission stories WILL NOT give you gems. If you did it once before, good. If you haven’t, that’s not good but that it the suckage we must bare for these second chances.

One thing I have yet to determine is if you restart if you attempt one of these second chances for a 2nd or 3rd time. Most likely yes, unless they do that kindness and save your progress in that event. I’ll check back in 10 days and update this post regarding that.

So, I hope this helps. I feel like I went way beyond what you asked, but this just couldn’t have been done half-assed. If there’s anything I missed in this, please submit to the Ask Box so I can update this post. And, again, I will update come the 10 days and if I didn’t get all the books. I did try the event with the Epic Saizo card as a rank prize so that might reveal more.

Hi. Umm, i wanted to ask if the missions that cost only 1 AP that give a set of the material books have to be done on certain days of the week or at certain times of day?

For those that have been with Love Scramble since the dawn of it’s release (or at least before Xmas Holiday 2016), Voltage put in this section as like a gift to all the users.

I clearly remember users had until 12/31 to get in on these and you only got one set from each section. But, I guess as more people found their way to it, they let them have at it? I busted my chops to make sure i got to them all and use them.

Now, the one you might be thinking about it this materials thingy:

Enter reused and slightly less crisp screen shot~! These are the ones that rotate each day so pay attention to what they are. These do not have a 1AP option so you kinda have to choose materials vs. event vs. main route. But, if you really want that card awakened, this is where you need to be. Don’t forget you can get materials by chance through the main route. You just have to find the area that gives you what you need.

Aww, thank you ^^ I’m glad you like it.

I would hope so. The problem would be that there are some games that are discontinued or not released here in the US. Sleepless Cinderella Party no longer gets updated and Celebrity Darling was never released here. Plus, all the sprites are from the party versions of the paid games (My Sweet Bodyguard and Kiss by the Baddest Bidder) which are still in Japanese.

However, if Voltage can see past all that and release this into the American market, I, for one, would appreciate that because we lose out on the stories that we could be enjoying and not everyone has the capabilities to learn the language for various reason. My crapanese only gets me so far in reading. 

All we can do is wait and see.

Sorry to bother you but I have a question. When you are arranging your unit and you click one of your main members in your unit, the box opens and it seems as if the character can fit slits in? Is this how you are able to power up characters? Because right now I am struggling to beat the quests with the attack power of my unit ( they are all above level 60 and are mostly 5/6star cards ranked SR) could you help me? Thank you

Girl, you had me thinking about this at work and everything had to stop so I could figure it out. At first I didn’t know what it was for, but since I don’t play as regularly as I used to, I went to investigate.

So this is the roster screen and, when I poked Edward, this came up (I hope this is what you meant >_>)

When I poked one of those boxes, it’s an option to put in a present. Now the present feature was added a while ago and if you gift your guys their fave item, they go to level 3 in that aspect and gift you something in return.

Excuse the editing. I have too many apps and forgot the one I usually use for this. Anyway, so I pointed out the presents tab and I remembered I did an entry for this. If the gift is for the right guy, it’ll look like this:

I highly doubt Edward wants Kota’s gameboy XD Anyway, as you can see, this is an event R+ 4-star card of Kota and that is his gift. Now, Yamato is one of the cards I gave all the gifts I could to so let’s see what he has to tell us.

Okay, this will be a little ass backwards bc I forgot to take a shot of the first box. For 200,000 gold, you can unlock the first box, 600,000 for the 2nd and 12,000,000 for the third. Once you unlock them, you’ll get this confirmation:

I’m not sure what this entails other than a possible supplemental but I haven't been able to figure this out.

If you’re trying to awaken those select cards that can go up to 7 stars now, those are the only ones and they require those extra special books that can only be retrieved from the gacha. That gacha will tell you which cards are able to go another level. I’ll try to do a post on that :)

Hi! I saw all your tutorials for love scramble and I really appreciate what you are doing for the community!! So I realised something recently, with certain cards, like SRs, the leader skill isn’t activated 😰 and I wanna ask whyyyyy like it will say something like 四枚以上のユニットで発動 which I don’t get HAHA I thought it just meant that as Long the unit has 4 cards then it will be active but that’s not the case :( please help!!!

Now, it has been a bit since I played, but I believe that you have to have all of your units activated to get the leader skill. That means that all of your team must be fully charged to get the leader skill you’re looking for. of course, i played fast so all I cared about was the explosions that were happening on my screen XD But, this has to be what you’re missing. Try to get this to happen and see. I’ve actually just popped Love Scramble open to see this myself. *dusts off the neglected guys*

Hello :) thank you for answering my question :) I have another question, can you increase the attack power of the cards other than training button and leveling up the card from upgrading it or increasing its rank. And is battle raffle the only way to do an increase in exp for cards and increase ranks outside of the story quest and special quests? Thank you very much for helping me :)

Battle Raffle is different from the regular Quests and Events. In Battle Raffle, you earn points that accumulate to a certain level. Once that is maxed out, you can earn gems and gold, but you won’t earn experience to level your cards up.

If you wanted to level up by gaining experience, you need to do the regular quests and events, or use the matching cards or items to do so. I haven’t seen any other way so far.

New Feature: Gifts! :D

As you can see, there is a heart shaped box button where you can buy your card’s fave foods and things. You get one slot and the 2nd will cost you 100 gems. 

The middle button is your roster:

And the third button is a list of all the things you orders for your roster. I had nothing at the time I took these so no pic :D

When you select the slot, you have a list of items to buy. Each one is the fave of the guy named at the bottom next to the heart. 

Each selection has 3 selections: 

Bronze: arrives in 1 hour for 25,000 coin

Silver: arrives in 2 hours 30 mins for 60,000 coin

Gold: arrives in 8 hours for 200,000 coin

My foo self was fiddling with lack of sleep and inadvertantly spent gems. But, to speed things up, hit the purple button on your order and spend the required gems.

Here we have Sir Kyo in epic kimono with fried rice (did that sound too corny?). Now, because I can’t remember names in Japanese, I assume this is his fave because his fried rice is the best. But please, double check or else feed your guys whatever and get them fat XD I don’t know what happens. Could be less effective than their favorite food or object.

Thanks to @aishiteru-otome, I can tell you what happens for each one that gets to Level 3 and maxed out:

R cards: 1000 gacha tokens (the pink ones)

SR 4 star cards: premium gacha tickets

SR 5 star cards: TBD

She’s currently in the process of finding out that piece of information and as soon as we have it, this post will be updated.

Sorry to bother you but I am playing love scramble and I have a few questions. First, once your card reaches a max level, can you only level up that card once using books? How do you make your cards stronger( is training button the only way?) ? What is the purpose of food and affection in the game? What is the food for? How do you rank up cards? What are drink cards for in the game? What are book cards for in the game? Sorry that I have a ton of questions. Thank you.

Regarding the new food feature, I’m working on a post so please be patient on that as I’m hoping to get that done after this one.

This post shows you how to “evolve” your cards once you can no longer feed them other cards. You can also feed them the drinks to level up as well. But, once a card can no longer accept anymore, they must be evolved and they can only be evolved once. 

Ranking happens when you continue to merge cards of the same type. You’ll notice it when you “Level 2 > 3 (I never got shots of this so I’m sorry on my part for that but I will if you need it). Some cards are low level but, I have a few that’s gone to level 10 and may still go. I’ll have to ID which ones when I can. 

Please look at the post I linked to and let me know about anything else you got a question on. I will try to get the food post up asap.

hi!! i don't know if someone asked this already, but i just started playing love scramble and I want to know how do i change the leader? I can't seem to change it. Or do I have to reach a certain rank before I'm allowed to change it? Thanks!

Hello~!

Nope, it hasn’t so you’re in luck. Now, unlike the other 3 cards, the leader card can’t be removed by poking and dragging. You need a leader. 

Here we have Iori’s current event cart as leader. (Side note: always good to use an event card as leader so your friends can use your help in events.) To switch your leader, you need to choose the card you want to replace your current leader with and drag him over. 

I chose Birthday Masamune to show you mid drag. Drag him over your current leader and he will replace whoever you got.

Do not forget to poke the pink button at the bottom to set your team. You’ll get a pop up asking most likely “Do you want to save your team?” or “Are you sure you want this to be this way?” Always poke the pink button before you leave. 

And that ends “changing the leader. You can do the same thing for your other cards and learn who does what and arrange them accordingly.

In love scramble, does your unused event tickets and fever tickets disappear after the event is finished?"

The Event tickets for the gacha do have a “use by” date and usually it’s not long after the event ends. Also, some are for specific gachas. If you played during the month of September, Love Scramble held special mini events for all the players who had birthdays that month. So there were gacha tickets given out for that special draw. 

As for the fever tickets, I believe they are meant for just that specific event. Unfortunately, I’ve used them as soon as my stamina is full to take full advantage. The best way to use these tickets is:

make sure your stamina is full

check to see how far you are from leveling up. When you level up, your stamina gets full again and you can just keep going till the fever is over

have a team comprised of all event cards. I’ve learned that during Kyohei’s birthday event, having all of his cards on my deck got me the most points per round. But that won’t always be the case. They’ve started letting certain cards you already own be event cards so always check your deck and see what you got.

hi! i wanna ask question about love scramble. do you know how to level up your character's star? for example, i have seen SR cards that at first was 5 stars changed into 6 stars (green color card). thank you ^^

Hello! Thank you for your question. I knew I forgot to cover something so, again, thanks ^^

DANGER: BRACE YOURSELVES! PHOTO HEAVY! (and Dori forgot to crop things… please no hate…)

So, here we have the Home screen and on the bottom are the banners for all the current things. The one shown here with Yukata Ota is the standard banner for obtaining books for upgrading aka Materials. When you poketh said banner, you go here:

Now, you see the banner for the current event (go, Team Instinct! ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧) and another one. That 2nd one will be where you can earn books for that color and it changes every day. This is a good chance to earn anything that can help level up and evolve your cards.

These are all the banners for each color and you’ll only earn books for that color on those days in this section. The last one is straight coin and you will need lots of coin to upgrade (you will see in a few photos). Unlike regular quests, you don’t earn experience. 

This is how the materials quest looks like. Each level requires a certain amount of energy and each provide a certain level. The high the level, the greater the cards. 

To figure out how to use the books, you must go to the Characters section. (Isn’t it nice I still have some of these crappy diagrams? :’D)

Here you’ll see all the cards available for evolution. If one has all the books needed, it will glow.

Here is Lord Kojuro to show us what I mean. Here you see he need 4 Rare Intelligence, 4 Rare Strength books and 50,000 coin (indicated under the books). When you have all the required things, you poketh the pink button to the right of the coinage. You will be asked to confirm and his evolution is complete! 

Now, here I’m showing the new thing they got going with Casual Civilian Yamato.

Yes, your eyes are not broken. Each section is 1 stamina and will give you materials for Normal, Rare and Super Rare. 1 full set and no more:

I tried getting more rares and it won’t give so pick the one you want to evolve and go forth! You have until December 31st to claim all these!

Yes I still do, though the current event is not as interesting as reading Mitsunari’s MS for the early bird specials lol

Unless you get an SR ticket from an event, you can take the chance drawing from the R gacha that requires gems. I’ve managed to get a few by chance and that’s just what you have to take. If you save 250 gems, you can draw 11 for the price of 10 and your chances at getting an SR are better. I was lucky to get Archer Joshua and Sext Teacher Yamato in a single draw, but that is the chance you take. 

There’s no other way unless you try to gain 500,000 points in the events, which is super hard unless you spend gems for the fever tickets. Now, I haven’t tried to load credits into the market since it’s a Japanese account so I don’t know if they use gift cards the same as we do, but I know the credit cards might not work the same way. I’m in the US so I won’t take the risk either way.

Hi Do you know how to use the drinks in love scramble?

Basing on color and type, I usually use them for the related cards. Think of them like the intelligence or strength books. If they’re for Normal, Rare or Super Rare, use them for the corresponding cards that need the boost. 

They can be used for any of the cards, but don’t seem to be as beneficial.

Love Scramble: Battle Raffle

Battle is located with eh Missions under the blue star button on the Main Page. I call it Battle Raffle because you need tickets in order to participate in these. You don’t need stamina in this instance, but your team still gains experience.

The Scoreboard ( “ ス コ ア バ ト ル”/ sukoabatoru = Score Battle) is where you can see where you rank among your friends in this and you can send them tickets usually once a day and that pink button would send all. But, I just tried to send to all and it took me to the next screenshot. This was because some on my list haven’t been active in this week’s raffle. You can poke the individual tickets to send just the same

Every week your score is zeroed out, but each level can be played over and over. Each level is 4 rounds:

Level 1: 4 squishy enemies (easy) Level 2: 1 squishy enemy (medium) Level 3: Chibi Goto

Improving your score gains you gems so when you’re out of stamina and/ or want to level up your cards, this is a good spot to spend time in.

Love Scramble: Story Mode

*snickers as she loads the image* Okay, for the record, I did not plan to take what would be considered a candid photo of Joshua and Kojuro. I just so happen to choose this one for the menu. (Although, it does look like Kojuro is pretty upset with me... We’re still friends, right? :D)

In Story Mode, the menu options are pretty basic and no, I haven’t figured out how to move the text box (if there’s a way...).

1. Game Settings: Basically, the same access as you would in battles

2. Log (“ロ グ”/rogu): AKA History. Probably a good thing to have if you’re learning the language.

3. Skip: For those that are completely fed up in trying to read a language that they can’t. I, personally, like testing my minimal Japanese knowledge and see Joshua overreact to things |3 (good times X3)

4. Rewind: in case you miss a funny facial moment because you can’t read Japanese (Why so serious, guys? Let’s put a smile on those faces! XD)

5. Fast Forward: I use this whenever I have a story to read but gotta hustle. You can always go back and reread them from the card list.

Now, I’m pretty sure everyone’s experienced this already, but you gotta love how they guys just end up in your face from time to time. I think I almost threw my phone across the room the first time this happened. Of course... I was playing at 4am and really should have gone to bed, but I was too busy fangirling and sharing with my friends that had to wait for the Android version. (Friends don’t let friends suffer in silence when they have to wait for their turn in a game like this.)
