when she is reborn, she is not the same. energy does not course through her veins and a gaping hole tells her there is something missing. there is something gone
they took her power; reduced her to wisdom and weaving; what place do those have  she wonders on the council of the gods.
a new goddess has been born crafted from stolen powers her powers but she cannot fault her bellona did not ask for this.
she remembers bits; odds and ends of a time before remembers her scorn remembers her pride pride, pride comes before a fall.
but she is not nothing, still something something less, but that was their mistake they took away from her but they did not take her.
she vows retribution- the time will come for her to rise she will make them pay they will regret breaking her down stealing her strength.
but in time- for now she is content in living in each one that calls herself woman. she is willing to sit back and watch these queens conquer.

(i) it wasn’t her fault. the history books always get it wrong it wasn’t her fault. (she screams and screams) (when she’s heard, the result is… unexpected)
(ii) “turn your pain into anger. become stronger.” voices tinged with vengeance. “you do not deserve this but you will take it  make it yours. make them regret.”
(iii) she listens. she hears their ideas, agrees, even. she becomes what made her. “predator” they whisper. “retribution” she screams back.
(iv) “they fear you”  the whispers in her ears say “show them why they should show them why they’re right to call you monster.”

@femmefatalenet | Event Three | Monsters | The Sphinx
In Greek mythology, the sphinx was considered to be a woman. One sphinx was only considered to exist in Greek mythology; she was the daughter of Orthus, and either Echidna or Chimera. Apart from the human head and the body of the lion, she also had the wings of an eagle and the tail of a serpent. According to the myth, she dwelt outside the city of Thebes, and asked a riddle to all travellers, in order to let them pass.

the goddesses are not worshipped, but they are not dead.
Tumblr media
there is a small diner on the outskirts of town. the owner is a kind woman, always welcoming her patrons with a smile; walking through the door is like coming home.
but there are times roaring flames reflect in her eyes.
when there is a young girl hurting.
when people are being unkind.
it takes you a few weeks to realize there is no fireplace in the room.
Tumblr media
the garden is always green, and the lushness of it seems everlasting. Everything is brighter and bigger, the scents of fields of grain and meadows of flowers wafting through the air.
but there are times it seems like the town is experiencing winter in the fall.
her eyes turn cold when she sees a laughing dark haired young woman.
she doesn’t speak of her daughter’s lover.
it takes you a few months to realize there are always strawberries for sale.
Tumblr media
the first time you meet her, you don’t realize this is the third sister. the cold eyes and the harsh lines of her face don’t match your mind’s portrait of the artist described.
but then you see her photos. the white dresses, the decorated altars.
the reverence she displays throughout the ceremonies.
the lingering touches on petals.
it takes you three weddings to realize there is a ring on her finger too. - the big three are goddesses too; hestia, demeter, hera // maya

@femmefatalenet | Event Four | They Deserved Better | Amphitrite
In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite was a sea goddess and wife of Poseidon and the queen of the sea. Under the influence of the Olympian pantheon, she became merely the consort of Poseidon and was further diminished by poets to a symbolic representation of the sea.
