i was starting to think the appeal of sonilver would be the angst that already potentially exists in silver's circumstances but cranked up to 11. silver already has to deal with the fact that all of his friends are from another time that he doesn't belong in. that he can never just come and hang out and be friends. his appearance will always be an omen and a sign of pain to come, regardless of his actual actions.

add on falling in love with one of those friends? the fact that he barely gets any time to be around him, and would no doubt miss him dearly? the pain of wanting nothing more for someone to be happy, second only to your desire to be around them, and yet you can't have both unless you give up the world you have dedicated your whole life to saving, over and over? god. the emotional turmoil. the decision. the bittersweet ending either way. this boy is so fucking doomed by his very character concept
