idk really if your games look good and are good then ask for money but if you havent made games before and will be doing amateur work youre probably gonna get better results releasing free stuff for your first things.

ultimately i dont think its about if its paid or free when getting started its more like.. dont spend 5 years working on your first project. aim to do small ones like jam games that take a month or two to make. then you can release a pay what you want free game and a paid game and see how it compares and then use that experience as your information going forwards

also if you're doing free games i thikn pay.what-you-want option with some bonus stuff like for example an artbook like how i do it is a pretty good way to approach free games as well. i dont see it as often as id expect given how nice it is

if you end up making money from your games eventually i think the best thing to invest in terms of games is to pay a good artist to make you nice looking sprites it helps with people taking your game more seriously be it a paid game or a free one

This is an ask/RP blog based off of Lampert from the Roblox game Regretevator. Though, keep in mind it won't be 100% canon, and will both be sprinkled with my own headcanons and also occasionally out of character for Lampert because, shockingly, I am not Lampert Real Life™ and do not know how he would react to everything. I try my best though.

Lampert uses primarily he/him pronouns, but sometimes I sprinkle in some he/they in there. as a treat

platonic / non-romantic dynamics !! (not in any particular order bcus im awful at ranking)

Dynamis & King & Tithi - people whove known me for a bit probably have read some texts or threads on twitter about me rambling about them. this dynamic is the case of "there's a few frames of them together and some interactions; im gonna place them all into a pod now" and me taking the little characterization they have and stretching it so far. but idgaf !! it's my brain i get to do what i want !! i've got a sort of brother/familial dynamic with them. i remember some scenes where Tithi held onto King and adjdjdjdj it was just very adorable and it's stuck with me for a while. and we also have one of the ending scenes where Tithi is with Dynamis at Mist Mountain. Tithi is the center of this dynamic really, because King and Dynamis don't really have any direct/1-on-1 interactions in the show. i like to imagine the Tithi-Influence-Banter Dynamis and King would have; Dynamis being the more "responsible" older brother and King the more daring and reckless middle brother. Tithi takes from both of them, and Dynamis ends up scolding King when they both get into trouble. the thing i like a lot about them though too is that i get to expand on Dynamis a little more. bro has been stuck in a temple all his life and grew up having to live up to his life's purpose !! it's all over now !! let the man have fun !! heal his inner child as he King drags him to events with Tithi !! i don't think i can project my eldest sibling experience on him though. (that's for vita...sorry vita...). in canon this dynamic probably wouldn't work out the way i have it in mind because they all live in separate places, but i think even then they could have a close bond. Tithi would look up to both King and Dynamis and be happy whenever he talks to them and visits them.

Zhouxing & Bao - this one has been brewing in my brain a bit i need to talk about it more purely shitpost material (/hj). they would start off with the most one-sided beef (from Zhouxing). yeah they dont have any interactions in canon really except for that one indirect one. but again this is my brain. same guy different fonts; one gets bitches the other is bitchless; Zhouxing has to deal with another guy who basically holds the same role as him from an opposite team/group; they both lost to the same green guy Zhouxing starting the beef is sooo funny to me. obviously the two of them would be a bit hostile/suspicious of each other at first because of Beylin Temple history, but this is all after the Nemesis Crisis so there's a truce now. this new Bao guy is clearly on his level and Zhouxing needs to challenge him in everything. he has to prove that he's the superior pretty guy (by annoying the shit out of Bao). Bao doesn't catch on to what's happening for a while until Zhouxing does something crazy and Bao snaps and is like "dude what the HELL is your PROBLEM?!" (Bao is now committed to the fight). At some point after, they get along. Bao is like "dude if you just told me you wanted to fight I would've fought you." They become homies (sort of) (they still sort of hate each other) (not seriously though). this is one of those "guy who's silly and guy who's serious" kind of dynamics and that's probably why i like it a lot adjdjdjdj. Bao is more of a no-games sort of guy before the Nemesis Crisis and probably a little bit after. but those days are over !! time to put him in the middle of a found family (WHZ) and figure out how to fit in with the Rizz Blader being his rival (that he had no say in) from it.

Masamune & Lera - MLM WLW SOLIDARITYYYYY !!!! AND ALSO HOSTILITYYYYY !!!!! they're the "they didn't allow us to be friends in canon because we would be too powerful" duo. they're the meme of the lesbian flag stick figure kicking the gay flag stick figure. they will tell anyone that asks that they think the other is insufferable, but they always have a blast whenever they chat. Laz has spoken about them before and I adore them <3 I think Lera would find Masamune very annoying but also he's entertaining and he's so easily amused by everything that she can state the most random facts about anything and he'll either jaw drop in amazement or in complete utter despair. They both seem very chatty i think they could talk to each other non-stop for hours. they definitely share the beef and gossip about other people.

Tsubasa & Yu - (explodes into tears) one of the best dynamics in the entire show (and one i actually have canon to go off of !! wow !!). the way they have a rocky first start but later develop as a duo with a really close bond is so :(( tears in me eyes :(( Tsubasa and Yu not seeing eye-to-eye throughout their interactions in Fusion, but later getting along and supporting each other after the Dark Nebula falls. Yu starts to stick to Tsubasa and values him very much, and vice versa (which makes Tsubasa's conflicts in Metal Masters more heartbreaking for me </3) . They are the brothers ever <3 Tsubasa picked up a stray cat (fox, really) and he follows him around sometimes <3

Dynamis & Pluto - deity ik you don't give a fuck about them but I DO !! AND IM GOING TO BE UNWELL FOR A MOMENT !! (as you can tell i am heavily influenced by Alexis) (and also i like to grasp for straws) (i am going off by both implied/very far-reached canon and solar swap au). this will probably be the shortest explanation for those reasons. and also i cant put my thoughts into words to how these guys make me feel. i just. the. the way that those two in canon know each other and have had to known each other for years. they knew their destinies and that they inevitably would fight each other at the end of it all. they've definitely got some crazy history and it's FUCKED UP that the show didnt do anything with that (i say for the thousandth time)

(i could be wrong since its been forever since ive watched the movie), but it think that was the point of the metaphor. if you peel off the layers of an onion, you'd still find more onion--it doesn't change no matter how deep you look into it. Shrek was saying that no matter how much you try and look deep into an ogre, they'd still be the same. he was saying that he doesn't have any sort of specialness deep down inside of him; that he is exactly like how he is, both inside and out. if you kept peeling him, you'd still find the same ogre-ness to him, just like how if you kept peeling an onion, you'd still only have the same onion, nothing new or special different

-i definitely think the way you explained the idea makes a lot more sense to Shrek's characterization, It doesn't seem like it was trying ti insinuate that there was something particularly special about whats under the layer, just that there is more to him than the outer layer

-it did seem that it was trying to express something about outer appearance and stereotypes but probably not in the manner my blunt autistic brain takes metaphors so literally

-so onion metaphors in general do exist theoretically before Shrek and in general it is used to convey multiple layers around one core, and apparently "peeling the layers of the onion" is seen as a metaphor for like, personal growth and dealing with deep buried problems in your life, not sure if the second ones relevant but idk maybe someone can find a tie in

-so I'm guessing the layers of the onion is either like, how much somebody sees of you, or the persona that you show on the outside, I'm not sure which one is more fitting or neither or both, but I guess the idea is that like, someone may seem rude and cold on the outside but behind that outer layer there's other aspects to this person, I suppose to tie in the its still the same, it could be argued that the outer layers are still a part of that person, it's just not hollow like some assume it to be, and if you peel back the layer its the fact that there is anything more than the outer layer that is signfigant

-i could see that approach to it making more sense since I think its trying to say something about stereotypes, I vaguely remember Shrek also saying that people will decide they dont like him when they barely know him

-in that case I guess you could try ti apply a similar metaphor to a real stereotyped group, like perhaps a gay man acts eccentric and fits those stereotypes and so people write him off as just the "gay best friend" and boil down his entire person to just that outer layer, it doesn't accur to them that the outer layer isn't just hollow, that there's anything underneath, and they might not think to try and peel it because they think they know the person based on only the outer layer, in which, I guess we can think of the core of the onion as that person at their purest, and by peeling back the layers your getting close to seeing that person for every aspect of who they are, so if you peel back the layers of this theoretically gay guy, yeah he still likes men but he also has this thing called a life and more than one personality trait

-i still find irony in that the idea is that by peeling back layers your seeing "more" to the person, sense peeling an actual onion makes it smaller

-but I the metaphor won't be perfect to its litteral counterpart...

Cove Holden Headcanons that I Made Up

hed get into flower crowns, like REALLY into flower crowns one day after seeing mc making them one time, so he learns how to make them and will want to make matching flower crowns for mc and himself whenever the opportunity comes up

if the mc owns sundresses cove would ask if he can wear them sometimes. it takes some getting used to but he ultimately really enjoys the fit of sundresses and how soft and flowy the fabric is. hed jump and twirl around a lot just to watch the fabric move with him

hed try high heels to go along with the sundress(es) exactly one time before deciding that theyre too awkward and uncomfortable and make hin feel too much like a baby giraffe. after that hed just wear like a cute sandal or something

I think that’s an extremely normal thing to do. The events we like to explore with our imagination often don’t have any sort of direct correlation with what we want to do or to occur IRL.

This ever-increasing demand that we justify our interaction with fanworks that include kinky or problematic-IRL themes with ‘coping’ or ‘healing’ has created a frankly dangerous pressure on queer fandomgoers. Nobody should feel compelled to disclose a history of trauma to justify their interest in dark or kinky themes, nor should people who lack such trauma feel guilty for consuming dark or kinky works.

(& frankly, I think the lives of most queer fandomgoers have been traumatic enough to explain the rather high interest in dark & kinky themes, even if none of the trauma has been ‘major’ for most of us. Capitalism is traumatic. Marginalization is traumatic. & if you feel like you need a reason to like something in fiction that would disturb you IRL, that should, imho, be reason enough.)

Shoutout to the unsung heroes of the SNK/AOT fandom

With the last chapter on the horizon, I thought it high time to share my appreciation for all the magnificent meta writers that put the time & effort to analyze, theorize, research, break down and process everything going on in the SNK/AOT universe into concise, articulate cliffnote posts so that the rest of us dumb dumbs could even remotely follow along (lets just say the mad man that is Isayama certainly doesnt make it easy for some of us). This also goes for all who “devote their hearts” in character/ship analysis- this goes for ALL ships, while i dont agree with some, i read across ships because i wanted to see & understand different takes- i honestly would not have understood/fallen as hard for these characters if it wasnt for you! 

Don’t get me wrong, i love a good shitpost but I’m just blown away by the sheer level of dedication and detail put into these analysis posts- its what makes fandoms like these so great.  Seriously all you be busting out custom charts and timelines while chopping every panel, interview, official source material to support your analysis like a goddamn PHD thesis.  Y’all motherfuckers like:
