Anyway back to our regularly scheduled Supernatural rambling but

Season 3 has me so fucked up because from time to time I'll realize that both Sam and Dean are wholeheartedly convinced that this is the last year they'll ever spend together???

Like they don't know that Dean will eventually be back. Jesus Christ isn't that just horrible

Lord knows I'm gonna regret this because people go buckwild about ships, but look. You can love destiel, I'm happy for you. You don't even need to give me any evidence. Ship characters who haven't even met if you want, I'm not bothered.

But please, I'm begging, stop using the siren thing as evidence for destiel. The siren being Sam isn't even subtext it's just text, what with the 'I gave him what he needed. And it wasn't some bitch in a G-string. It was you' line so there are exactly two ways you can take it.

1. Dean's greatest desire is to have a good relationship with his brother (the siren can take on the shape of platonic desires)

2. Dean's greatest desire is to fuck his brother (the siren can only take on the shape of sexual desires)

You don't have to like option 2, that's fine. But in that case, take option 1 and run with it people. Because if you start trying to argue that:

The siren is evidence that Dean has sexual feelings towards a man, so Dean is bi, therefore destiel. What you're really arguing is Dean has sexual feelings for the illusory, perfect version of Sam.

Like idk guys, I see people joking about how not heterosexual Dean's siren being a man is and... you can totally watch it that way. But the siren isn't just a man he is a very specific man.... his brother.... soooo.

a short defence of incest shipping:

psychology BA (and future psychologist most likely) here! also an incest shipper! my very valid and scientific theory for why we ship incest is that we desire a love where we could never ever be left by the other because we're connected in more ways than romantic. it's very similar than the soulmate trope but for people who like a bit of spice (i don't mean smut here btw). in the soulmate trope you're thrust together with someone new, the incest trope has more of a friends to lovers vibe. the idea of strangers meetcute falling in love is very Straight and Neurotypical, friends or enemies or siblings first offers a less conventional story structure. the incest trope also deals with shame. a lot of people have shame about love and sex! especially religious people and queer people. incest is a metaphor!!! it's not about wanting to fuck your literal family! it's just about liking a strong bond. what we ship does say something of us but it's not usually the most straightforward explanation. also, this is just my theory, there are probably more reasons for liking incest ships. but i beg, BEG antis to look beneath the surface when screaming about brotherfucking pro shippers.

and dean didn't even stop to think about it before he did what sammy asked because there's nothing sam could ever ask of him he wouldn't do or give or kill but at the same time he would get so annoyed because sam knew exactly the power he had over him. but eventually he came to terms with it and got used to the idea of having sammy as both a brother and a religion and just accepted his fate.

I need to make a rant about this since it's pissing me off. Im getting so damn tired of the supernatural fandom. Especially on tumblr. For context. I only follow the aupernatural tag itself. No subtags. Half of what i get on my feed is wincest. And then there's the rabid sam and dean girls. Like i just saw a guy complaining about how sam's loyalty was lacking when he let Dean be turned. Sam is soulles? His whole way of thinking is changed by this. He admitted this. Yes it was a fucking shitty thing to do. But he isn't Sam. Not really. He's ths brains and body of Sam. His soul, his feelings. Are stjll in tje cage. Like can we all just let each othwr rest in peace in this fandom. Like who you likw. Dislikw who you dislike. But im so tired of the tag being filled with this sort of stuff only. Like come ths fuck on man

Headcanon that sam has really crackly bones AND he's super flexible, like can totally fold himself into a pretzel. So he spends his time cracking his back in ways that require him to fold himself weird just to annoy Dean.

So I had a dream about wincest(being obsessed with each other as always lol)

I was half asleep when I wrote this so bear with me

So I had this dream where some monster essentially got to sam and manipulated his world into his like ideal world. And his ideal world was him being a kid again with Dean taking care of him, just them in this little house. The same perfect day played over and over again, like a time loop. And somewhere outside this house is the real Dean, caught a time loop of his own, as he continously breaks into this little house to try to get to Sam and free him. But this monster always gets to him first and catches him off guard. It's like he doesn't remember the last time he was in the house, like it always feels like the first time setting foot in it, because the creature uses the same move over and over to kill him(but like, he doesn't really die, its more like this world is its own little pocket dimension and every time dean dies he wakes up outside of it again). And ever time, kid Sam hears something, but the monster/kid Dean tells him it's ok and they ignore it.

By the way, the monster in my dream is basically like this black-grey sentient goop(think Venom) that can morph itself into anyone it wants, and is hanging in weird strands all around the house that Sam doesn't notice. But dean does, and even though he tries to avoid stepping in it, it always catches his foot and essentially Webs his hands and gun in place, disarming him, then slams him against a glass mirror or a wall hard enough that it kills him.

Anyway, somewhere outside of this loop, Dean is vaguely aware that this monster always catches him with the same move, and the only reason he dies every time is because the surprise attack makes him too unsteady to shoot it, and catches him at a point where his footing is off, so he's easy to take down. But every time he enters the house again, he forgets what he learned, and it takes him down all over again. He admits to someone unseen that the reason it takes him down so easily/catches him off guard is because he's alone, aka Sam's not there to help him.

At some point, Sam starts becoming more aware that something is off, and that things are too perfect.

This is where the dream gets kind of fuzzy, but essentially Sam becomes aware enough and, still as a kid, sees adult dean walking through the house and calls out to him, confused. This time, Dean sees Sam and looks utterly relieved and says "Sammy..." like he's so happy to have found him. But this distraction causes the monster to catch him off guard again. It catches his foot and grabs his hands in its weird goo, but Sam is here now, and he sees this creature for the first time. So he yells out to Dean to move a certain way that gives him enough leverage to shoot the creature(this was mentioned as something dean always knew would help but always forgot when in the house).

Meanwhile, the monster actively tries to get into Sam's mind again and tell him, as young Dean, that everything will be ok so long as he let's him kill this intruder who's trying to hurt them. Finally it stops working on Sam and he becomes his real age again.

Some fight happens in between that I didn't really get to see, but the outcome was this: they managed to hurt the creature by working together, now that Dean wasn't alone, he doesn't die and actually gets some good shots in. At some point, Sam rushes the thing and the only reason it doesn't hurt him is because it grew some sort of attachment to him during the whole thing, and so he's the only one that it would let kill it(feels like a metaphor for Sam and Dean's real codependent obsessive relationship).

Anyway I don't remember much after this so that's basically all I have, so yeah.(also ignore any typos, I didn't edit this. I just woke up)

The hot air that comes out of his mouth in rushed exhales gets trapped between his arms, both bent and awkward next to his face, his forehead pressed almost painfully to the floor- the thin layer of blanket not really softening the surface, just there to add more sweat to his front. 

The heat is almost unbearable, but Sam can’t find the strength to lift even his little finger, even if that means the hard metal against his wrists press even harder. The pain of it is almost distant. He burns way hotter in the back, and that’s where his attention stands. 

Dean is restless. He reaches up, holding Sam’s wrists, trying to alleviate some tension, or holding him in place, Sam doesn’t know. What he does know, what he can feel... all the little movements between his parted legs, the hot skin against his back and the rushed breaths in his nape. It's all so loud.

Dean gets close to his ear. “Don’t ever say that to me again,” he whispers, but it’s rough like a command. “You’re staying, Sam.”
