sorry i took a hot minute answering these. some of these i had to think hard for, lol, but ty for excellent questions! much appreciated.

how could a human beat a beastfolk in court? —anonymous

hmm, humans are not to be denied from a handful of things. education, health, safe home, etc. if a beastfolk (or a group, even) is denying them from any of those things, any average joe human can win the case fairly easily with a half-decent lawyer—or even without, by themselves if the judge is without a bias.

the laws also does not look well upon beastfolks for being a shitty abusive owner / mate either. 

all of this unfortunately depends on where the human lives though. if in more liberal areas, humans would actually have good chances of winning. if in rural / overly religious regions…good luck trying, because the humans there oftentimes have little to no rights to anything other than basic health. if you looked decently clothed, wasn’t dirty, and weren’t skinny to the point where your ribs were showing, you basically have no chance against the beastfolk you’re filing against—unless you’re with the beastfolk (presumably your owner) who filed a suit against the offender for whatever reason (it’s probably possible for the owner to lend their human to a temporary ownership for while they are away—maybe they’re a soldier being sent to oversea or something).

i’ve been thinking that the beastfolks valued humans’ breeding capabilities so much that they would actually judge the beastfolk owner if their human have too many children in a short period of time too. again though, this wildly depends on where the human lived.

other than that, the cases where the human would have 1% chance of winning would be things like, trying to leave their owner / mate and/or to take the children with them via a divorce and any other similar examples. divorcing is…a very hard to process to win in beastfolk verse. its not really anything like our irl, where we’d almost always get our divorce paper filed away in the end, with or without the other party’s expressed agreement (…presumably if you’re in the western / european regions. i don’t believe this would’ve apply the same in other countries, but i digress). i would have to look back in my notes, but i also believe that it’s also hard for humans to have any sort of ownership over properties as well.

those are just few examples though. i’ve gone in depth on legal things in other posts iirc, if you wanted to know more.

what would happen if humans in the world of beastfolk were placed in zoos? —anonymous

UHHHH…not really zoos, but that’s already sort of happening via adoptive facilities and underground human trafficking auctions. its just not as publicly broadcasted.

now, if you’re talking about an au where it’s the reverse where the beastfolks were never placed in the zoos but the humans instead…that’d probably for another post lmao since this post is getting long as it is.

but the short of it, i dont think the humans could actually break out on their own. 

the zoos outbreaks occurred because the beastfolks at few specific (poorly run) zoos managed to sit down and learn—and using their own strengths, broke out, somehow gathered together with those never in the zoos (there are still a good amount of beastfolks living in the ‘wild’ starting to spearhead grassroots movements for beastfolks rights, some actually living with sympathetic humans, etc. they were just not in the ‘plain’ views for the general public), and started the process of breaking other beastfolks out. it was a fairly slow process in the beginning, gathering enough powers to start hosting influences on other beastfolks, and they took advantages of the human authorities to keep things under wrap of the growing numbers of the escapees. because human authorities weren’t prepared to deal with all possibilities behind the beastfolks getting more political powers.

somehow, they were able to convince the zoo-kept beastfolks to come in entire force together and blast pretty much every zoo at once, essentially (not at the exact same time, but those occurred gradually before rushing in numbers like a slow long fuse to an massive explosive).

things crashed and burned after that.

obviously, it would not be possible for the humans with their strengths feeble against a single beastfolk, on average, and are denied from common objects to create (dangerous) tools with. there’s a number of possibilities, that like i said, that would have required its own post.

what would happen if all humans in the Beastfolk world were independent? —anonymous

uhhh, hmm. not sure. i honestly doubted this would have happened at all, given how instinct driven the beastfolks were, to the point that human morals doesn’t really apply to them 75% the times.

this would require further discussions and inputs from friends and followers alike, i’m sure.

what would a human's punishment be if he killed a beastfolk? —anonymous

hm, depends on why (self defense? crime of passion? is it over someone the beastfolk took from them, presumably?), where (liberal? conservative?), and who (is the beastfolk well-known? loved? hated?) tbh.

laws doesn’t always look lightly on the abusive and neglectful owners as mentioned earlier, so if provided with evidences, the human would’ve gotten off scot-free—albeit might be placed in some state-run facility where they are never to be adopted again due to traumas and all that.

they don’t really like giving humans the death penalty though—since humans still have…their uses, so to say. 

interpret what i said however you’d like it, because it’d probably still be accurate in the end.

In world of Beastfolks, how humans are represented in the media in general ? —anonymous

depends on the timeline.

if so soon after the zoos, probably…not so good. you can imagine it sorta like how the pocs were used to be depicted in american cartoons shudders and not in any good/pretty light either. there might be a gem or two though in some old films, which would probably be considered as cult classics.

some time afterward, representations of humans would’ve started becoming more...over-sexualized, implying that’s all they are good for. maybe in the grittier style of 50 shades of grey too, even. this might be true even in children medias too. yikes.

prons of them being…dominated by beastfolks would’ve gotten fairly common too, easily accessible in local smoke / adult stores—and still was a thing for decades until the internet took the stage.

i do feel that one specific show might’ve started off an avalanche of where a human is shown to be a good parent—and this triggered more demands for better human representations, at least in parenthood / toward children and is probably pushing beastfolks to start taking humans for themselves. but, otherwise beastfolk and humans relationships would rarely be written in healthy light until way later in the timeline, maybe by 50 years or so. i do imagine they would have one similar to the Addams family back then though lmao but otherwise most of that time period, it’d something be like a nagging mean wife and lazy husband who would’ve gotten everything he wanted anyway without facing any consequences.

honestly, the human representation in medias over the timeline would serve as pretty good examples of how the beastfolks’ perspective of them had been changing over time.

tbh?? likely neutral and would keep their distance, but would give a human a hand if they needed it. that is if they sincerely believed in what they believed and display generosity to help all others, no matter who they are.

this also depends on what religion they believed in too. more…”extreme” faiths would’ve barred priests from ever supporting humans. others, religions that emphasized on kindness and loving thy neighbors? doesn’t matter, they will do their best to help however they can and feed and provide shelters.

of course, there are…those who would happily take advantages of whatever circumstances to suit their desires under the guise of kindness and religion. but that’s a post for some other time.

hmm, this is far from being a tactful example i will admit (genuinely couldn’t think of any other example atm) but you know how common lbgt+ are amidst the hetcis folks? the odd is similar to humans having preferences between their own species and beastfolks—and vice versa…at least in 50+ years post zoo. im sure there would be humans feeling instinctively attracted to beastfolks way back then, but they wouldnt be open about it—or be honest to themselves.

i’ve mentioned this before, but lgbt+ had always been a widely accepted thing, both in humankind and beastfolks in their entire history in their universe. despite the discordant relationships they had with one other in most of the world history together, they had a peaceful beginning before things took an ugly turn.

due to the said beginning, the beastfolks’ influences took roots in humans to fully embrace the lbgt+ people that a large margin of the human beings would actually ridicule those who are against lbgt+—usually those practicing specific faiths. again, remember, nature irl is very not linear—gay swans, lizards asexually reproducing, hyenas, etc, that it’s logical that the beastfolks wouldn’t not be for lgbt+.

lbgt+ is so widely accepted in their world* that labels such as gay, lesbian, etc. aren’t really used, though trans and intersex folks are often excepted. this is mainly due to health reasons though (doctors needing to know because there are specific health conditions differing between what sex part you got) and for the young’uns needing role models to better understand themselves and their developing bodies.

if you, an afab, prefer afab? people wouldn’t bat an eye. amab, mlm? same. same for those who are bi, pan, demi, aroace, etc. everyone support everyone’s rights to love one other and to love who they are—even from the transformative age where you’d be questioning who you are and your sexuality.

needing top/bottom surgeries? your insurance will cover them no problem, you might need to sit through a handful of consultations and therapy sessions though, but that’s mainly because they really wanted to make sure you are ready and willing to change your life and body for life—and your insurance will cover every one of those sessions too.

lbgt+ is so embraced in the beastfolk verse that it’s mindboggling to imagine the antis ever existing.

however, the same could not be said for beastfolks preferring humans and humans preferring beastfolks. so, to answer your question, yeah, it’s fairly common for humans to not be into beastfolks—though, this is probably more so in nurture kind of situation than nature (lbgt+ / sexuality), where humans grew up seeing and hearing about human oppressions that they generally see beastfolks in a scary light.

depending on how recent the zoo outbreak and beastfolks taking the reigns are, you would be pretty hard pressed to find any human actively pursuing a beastfolk (it’s almost always the other way around) that early on. if this is, say, a hundred or so years later post zoo, humans preferring beastfolks may become a fairly commonly accepted thing (though, i will admit, i don’t believe humanfuckers beastfolks / beastlovers humans would ever be as widely accepted, at least for everywhere, for a very long time).

this also depends on where the humans / beastfolks live too. factor in differing cultures, religions, way of living (urban vs suburban vs rural lifestyles), and all that.

so…tl;dr, depends on when and where.

*edited to add, of course there ARE exceptions. some tribes / families / packs / what have you, have their own beliefs regarding lbgt+. the lioness is the main example of struggling against her own culture, before finally taking the head to transit to the body she wanted. her pride was…not great for people questioning the bodies they were born with. the human the lioness fell in love with and took for herself, was probably the first person she met who openly supported her choices and was able to get her the resources and surgeries she needed. however, the pride she’s originally from was among a small percentage of the world population who were not 100% supportive for lgbt+ and they were from the “untouched” land where they were fairly isolated from the modern world as well.

just wanted to point out that nothing’s perfect in that world regardless of how widely embraced a thing was.

i believed i’ve answered this several times before though? please look through either beastfolk or beastfolks tag in my blog next time. but, i’ll answer your question anyway, as a refresher.

humans mistreated beastfolks (though, beastfolks weren’t much better). through convoluted, complicated skews of worldwide political events that i wont get into because my brain is too smooth to understand political bullshits, humans managed to have overthrown the beastfolks and (literally) threw them in jails—aka the zoos, for human citizens to gawk at.

for the longgggg stretch of their history, they both kept to themselves. at a handful of points over the course of the said history thoiugh, political nonsenses occurred, both risking wars and did igniting wars that ultimately led to nowhere for both sides (beastfolks wanting nothing to do with humans slash leading humans to fear them more, which never led to any peaceful conclusion), before humans took what most (including many human themselves, even) considered to be a cheat / cowardly resolution. they utilized chemical and biological warfares to win what should have been losing wars for them.

beastfolks have stronger senses than they do, which…led them to be much more sensitive as well, which were something that had been used against them. hell, we eat poison on the daily, such as chocolate, junk foods, and coffee—all those things that would’ve sicken and kill our animals with eases. we humans tolerate shits so much better than most other living beings, which would reflect the same in the beastfolk verse,

the main method most human delegations used to win the perceived war(s) were poisoning their water sources and killing off their animals they kept for food, weakening and starving them until humans were physically able to literally throw them into what is considered (today) as the Zoos.

while beastfolks did and does sport much stronger and more dangerous physiques that can easily shred humans like wet paper, humans are more capable of creating things seemingly out of nowhere. aka, humans understand overall science junks better while beastfolks operates mainly on instincts to hunt and to survive. it doesn’t help that humans were / are like cockroaches, they’re very difficult to get rid of once they’re there, adapting to any kind of situation to live and will study the said situation to strive better too.

humans saw the weak points that the beastfolks didn’t really think about, back then, and took advantages of them.

humans feared and still fears beastfolks (fear was the main drive for what humans did to the beastfolks) while beastfolks viewed them as lesser beings and on most parts, still does see them as weak, being driven mostly by irrational emotions and reasons. they since then believed that humans did and does have their uses (can’t deny how much better the modern conveniences were to living in the pure wilderness) that it wouldnt be right to get rid all of them by…extreme means, but still felt that the humans deserved their punishments, that they had been too lenient, that the humans needed to be oppressed and be collared. etc. (…coincidentally, it is through the humans and their treatments that the beastfolks were and are able to strive and thrive better together in whole. before, beastfolks were also segregated by species. canines keep to canines, cats to cats, winged to winged, etc.)

the short of it, humans got mistreated because they mistreated the beastfolks too. i hesitated to say that humans started it first, because the beastfolks weren’t good guys either, but those things never happened without reasons.

who started the fight the humans or beastfolk? in modern society there could be a new war ? —anonymous

already answered the former. as for the latter, def not really possible with humans with how subdued they are under the beastfolks’ reigns (not impossible, but very slim that it’s not worth trying), but wars can still occurs between countries and even different species of beastfolks. in fact, in more…unexplored lands (there’s more unexplored lands than we do irl with our planet due to how dangerous the beastfolks can get), wars between tribes and villages still happens, but those are typically between rivaling beastfolks. not so much with humans anymore, unless they’re far removed from modern civilizations or something.

how did the beastfolk evolve? before in the Beastfolk world were there animals like in our world? —anonymous

you know how we basically evolved from apes? well, thats not at all accurate irl ofc, but that’s basically the case with the beastfolks who gained the ability to stand on two legs and developing intelligence, hands and thumbs (for canines, felines, winged, equines, etc.) and staying upright and developing two arms and hands in the cases of snakes, sharks, etc. still having their tail. the…i still need a term to call the actual animals, but all i can think of is the ‘lesser’ or something the similar, so i’ll take suggestions for this one.

but having farm animals and pets would still give humans and beastfolks tools to grow their own foods, maintaining needs for company, and all that. beastfolks would obviously have less needs for working animals though (unless its beasts of burden like driving horses because nobody would want to run for miles for traveling) since they generally can do those themselves.

now, i do imagine that some races of beastfolks would’ve develop beliefs to either keep distance and / or to place complete respect for the animals they evolved from to the point that they oftentimes do not keep as pets or farm animals. canine based beastfolks does not want to have dogs in their homes but would adopt birds, fishes, cats, etc. feline based beastfolks would not have cats but wouldnt mind taking care of pet snakes, etc. 

yeah, it’s fairly awkward overall, but animals still have the same roles as they do with our world…mostly. overtime though, they basically look at those animals they evolved from as we do with apes and monkeys—very cute, impressive, awe-inspiring, but would feel very weird to keep as pets because of how many things we have in common.

who were the descendants of the Beastfolks in the prehistoric era? —anonymous

…this is already answered above? not sure how to interpret this question, sorry. 

i…think this is the answer you’re looking for?? it’s basically the same evolution process like ours.

replace the first stage from the left with any animal, like…tiger—or whatever the original ancestor the tiger originated from. they would’ve gradually develop the ability to stand upright to the right and looking more…humanoid in manner in comparison from their ancestor but still retaining the same animalistic features like tail, claws, fur, teeth, ears, etc. because those still have their uses.

obviously, the actual animal tiger and tiger beastfolk would actually have split at some point from their evolution process, to where the beastfolk would actually (somehow) share more dna with humans—enough so where they are 100% compatible in producing pureblooded beastfolk children together. biology never really explained how the compatibility humans and beastfolks came to be though. it is widely proven that there are still too many missing links between all races of beastfolks and humans together but no evidence had been uncovered yet—if at all. 

there’s many religions offering different sorts of explanations though, often with supernatural elements. ranging from believing beast gods placing humans in their world as their salvation to…er, having the first humans…reproducing children with actual beasts (most of those religious tales and myths are weird, man) because there were no others to have children with, thus how the beastfolks came to be (but didnt explain how more humans came to be either—smh, plotholes).

aka, idk im not a biologist. too smooth brained to explain how any of this work and i aint gonna get into this shit for real in my actual writings. you are welcome to form your own conclusions.

Shoto Todoroki x Fem!Reader 

Warnings: Spoilers about Dabi's identity? (I don't think this is a spoiler anymore lmao) and a little of gaslighting from the reader if you stretch

Plot: AU where Shoto kills Touya on accident, he and Endeavor run away, they end up on a ghost town and meet the reader, this will be a series and I can promise you I have a very good mystery for the town, also this was totally inspired by devil town by cavetown, it wil have many references to the song so… if you are a fan I think you will like this <3

The bright rays of dawn streaming through his curtains woke Shoto up, he took his phone in his hands wondering how soon in the morning would it be to have the sun just rising now

9:00 a.m his phone screen read 

Where in the world did the sun rise so damn late?

Shoto found clean clothes on his little bedside table, the very same clothes he was wearing, the same print on the white t-shirt he was wearing was resting on the white t-shirt on his table, the same blue shirt he was wearing could be found underneath the white t-shirt and the very same denim jeans he was wearing too, they had just one diference, the new ones waiting in his bedside table were not soaked in now dry blood from his brother.

Once dressed in his new clothes he opened the door just to hear his father’s voice calling him from behing 

Deciding to ignore him Shoto hurried up to the stairs, soon finding the hostel hall and, in its reception desk, the recepcionist was waiting, her elbows on the tabble, her chin resting on her hands and a little movement from side to side from her head, he found her just like he had left her the night before, the same white striped dressing gown on her and the same 'everything is just a game' expression on her face

The girl waved at him and that was the only thing Shoto needed to take his decision

He approached the girl, ready to ask her what had kept him awake almost all night when she cut him 

“Were the clothes of your liking?” she smiled 

“Eh... yeah, yes they were” so it had been her who brought them to his room and found them in the first place “How... How did you find clothes so similar to my old ones? And... it was already midnight when we arrived, the day had just started when I woke up and they were already on my room where did you bought them?”

“I... made them?” her eyebrows curved “Look, it’s my job to make sure everyone in this town is comfortable, I gave you father clothes too and he did not complain, take them and stop asking so many questions, will you?”

“But... I have one more question” the girl nodded at him, allowing him to continue “I want to know your name” 

She giggled 

“I want to know your real name too, I guess we can’t have everything we want” 

“At least give me a false name so I can refer to you” 

“You souldn't refer to me, you should go out and meet the town's people, you will lose any interest in me as soon as you do so”

“I heavily doubt it”

“But I am sure of it” she said, focusing her eyes on the book she had on her table

If there was something Shoto was more curious about than the girl it was that book, it looked like the usual book they have on a hotel to know who is staying in each dorm but the misteryous girl and her misteryous hostel had no one else hospeding than him and his father, what else could be filling pages and pages of that book? and why would she look at it and have it with her everytime? 

"Look, you are cute, really cute, but I’m not interested so can you please leave for once?” the girl’s angry voice woke him up

“Yes, sorry, I got distracted by...” she would never tell him what was inside that book, would she ever explain anything? “its nothing. I will leave now”

Already on the door Shoto said something else before leaving the hostel “You are really cute too” It was more a muffle to himself than a sentence directed to her yet she heard it and a silly smile appeared on her face

He was shy and unused to romantic interactions

And something much worse, he was in a weird town with a death in his back, this was not the time to fall for someone, less someone even weirder than the town itself

The sun rays blinded Shoto at first, how could it be already so shiny when it had just rised?

It’s true one of Shoto’s eyes was blue, which usually make the eyes more sensitive but he had never really be blinded by the sun before 

“I guess the hostel is way to dark and my eyes were not ready for this” Shoto calmed himself 

The whole town had changed, he knew it, his father's car wasn't at the hostel door anymore and the hostel was again at the top of a slope

But this time, under the slope Shoto found what he expected to find the first time instead of a weird forest, a little town

Much to Shoto’s disgrace it was now the entrance to the town and the road he and his father were following what had disappeared this time alongside the lonely forest 

Not more than ten houses, a clock tower and a cafe 

That was what constitued this “town”

He entered the small cafe, trying to get them to give him some information about the whereabouts of the road 

Inside the counter was a blonde boy with a black highlight, laughing loudly at whatever his co worker -a big muscular man with thick lips and scary eyebrows- had said. The big guy was scary at first but once Shoto saw him baking and joking with the blonde his first impresion changed completely, he seemed like a good person

But then Shoto thought to himself, Didn't he look like a good person too? And he was a murderer and no better than his horrible father 

“I’m Jirou and I have to attend you, is there anything you want?” a purple haired girl in the same uniform as the two boys behind the bar welcomed him and guided him to his table 

“Do you have green tea?” 

“No, we got out of it just yesterday but we will have the new cargament by tomorrow!”

“Well then I guess a dark coffe will make it too” 

“Alright, tomorrow we will have your green tea ready eh... what’s your name?”

“oh! right!! you are new!!” the blonde exclamed 

“The name’s Dabi” 

“Welcome to Devil town Dabi!” A pink colored skin girl greeted him

Shoto’s cup of coffe was almost empty when a green haired boy filled with freckless all over his faces entered the saloon, standing on a girl of his same height, big eyes and red cheeks

“Denki please, could you give us some ice for Izuku’s ankle? he broke it again”

“Shouldn’t you go to the hospital instead of asking for ice?” Shoto found himself asking

“Are you going to bring them to the hospital?” A deep and angry voice asked him 

“Don't you have one here?”

“Fuck off bastard, you can’t be serious and I really hate people mocking me” The blonde boy whose deep angry voice belonged to treatened him 

“Uraraka will take me to the city tomorrow to get checked” The injured boy, izuku, affirmed

 “In this shitty town there is nothing more than stupid trees” the angry boy spoke again

“And a road in the middle right?” Shoto asked, trying to find it again 

“What are you talking about?” Izuku asked

“There was a road with a sign with the towns name that crossed the whole town”

“The whole town are 10 houses and this cafe, I think you are mistaken, there’s no road here” the girl who attended him, Jirou, clarified 

“No, there was a road and-” Shoto then found a better thing to ask “the hostel! the hostel at the end of this slope, you have seen it right?”

“Yeah, but it’s been abandoned for years now, none of us has seen it working”  The baker answered 

“I don’t think its abandoned, there’s a recepcionist working on there”

“Who?” Denki, the guy who gave the injured boy the ice, asked this time

“I... I dont know her name”

“Look bastard, if you want to make fun of someone go somewhere else I dont want to see your stupid half burned face”

“Bakugo!” the girl with pink skin reprimanded him

Shoto left the saloon after that, wondering if he was the one losing his mind and not the people on this town, his biggest hipotesis was that both, he and the villagers were losing their minds

He wanted answers and he wanted answers from that stupidly misterious girl on the hostel 

He headed to the little amount of trees near him, he remebered, alongside the road were plenty of trees, he heard his mother on the woods. He had to walk through plenty of them until he found the hostel and not a single time did he sight the damn town

Shoto walked miles, he walked through the woods for hours and yet he couldn't find the road to get out of the weird town

He heard his mother voice again, calling him, screaming at him like the day he got the scar he had on his face 

“You said something dumb again” Shoto turned to where the voice came from

Sitting on one of the trees branches there she was, the recepcionist again 

“She’s mad” She jumped back to the ground “At least that’s what they say”

The girl was even prettier at the moonlight, it was easy for Shoto to lose himself on her eyes and forget about everything she was saying 

“Who? Who says that?” 

“The trees, obviously, who else would it be?” she laughed 

“oh” Shoto tried to find what she found so logical on her answer but he did just find it irracional, there was no way the trees were speaking, not even if he himself was hearing his mom coming from one of them “who... who is mad?”

“I'd say it’s your mother, she must miss you, all of you.” Was she refering to his older brother too? “I think this is not what she expected when you left” 

Shoto gulpped

He knew well what the misterious recepcionist was talking about, he left on a mision with his father to bring Touya back and now Touya was dead and both him and Endeavor were missing with no explanation

“But we’re fine, no one’s gonna catch you here” She said, speaking from his back again, she had walked through him while he thought about his past 

“What-?” 

When he turned around she was no longer there and so he decided to leave, it was dark at night already and he wanted to wake up soon, he needed to know more

“Can I get an explanation to that last thing you said in the woods?” Shoto exclamed just the moment he entered the hostel, his voice much louder than he had ever expected it to come

“I... I wasn’t on the woods Dabi, I’ve been here all day” 

“You were on the woods, sitting on a branche you said something about being save here because no one would catch us and-”

“Dabi, I think you need to rest”

- snl ripoff au! danny and rusty are the weekend-update-adjacent anchors and they get gay. i Would have this take place in la (reuben is taking A Risk producing a late night sketch comedy show on the west coast but the 11/12/however fuckin many are fantastic cast members so even though they lose revenue from the other timezones not watching as much as they watch snl or whatever, they still make BANK... but danny and rusty getting gay throws the equilibrium out of whack) BUT la sucks DICK so its happening in new york. also this way u get Ocean Sibling Banter (debbie and lou are the anchors for The Actual Weekend Update and when debbie/lou get together and also when danny/rusty get together there are so many ‘just switch out the blondes/brunettes nobody will be able to tell and we won’t have hr down our necks’ jokes)

- au based on this post where some archaeologist finds a bunch of dannys [french person voice] Love Lettairs 2 rusty and so obviously the logical course of action is to rob the museum (which happens to be the museum that tess is curating. funny how things work out) without telling his team What Theyre Stealing. they successfully pull off the heist but turns out the letters were not among the items they stole!! danny is getting desperate. as a last-ditch attempt he calls tess and asks her to let them rob the museum. shes like Why The Fuck Would I Do That. he explains and she begrudgingly agrees. danny and livingston go break into the museum Again but rusty tails them bc dannys been acting Weird and he finds out abt the letters bc livingston sweats more whenever he tells a lie. they live happily ever after (literally, theyre immortal) the end. also even though dannys a werewolf the 11 all call him the new jersey devil (its not his fault that legend came to be ok!! he was very drunk!!)

- superpower au where rusty has midas touch and danny has corrosive touch and when theyre too young to have control over their powers (abilities develop throughout adolescence and the user gains control at the end of adolescence) they accidentally brush hands and are terrified they just killed each other but turns out their powers like. cancel out. so until they reach like 21 or 22 and can touch things without fucking them UP they just. hold hands all the time. bc otherwise they have to wear gloves to prevent Accidents and both of them “hate gloves” (and also love holding hands. gayasses)

a voltron au? in 2020? it’s more likely than you think

look. LOOK. i know that voltron is stupid and we hate it but lets be honest: everything up until season 3 was pretty good and had lots of potential !!

today i was rewatching voltron and a thought struck me: what if, instead of shiro being cloned, he was chipped and turned to the side of the galra?

so here it is, i did not blink since i thought of this

(warning, i have not seen voltron in a while and this is just knowledge i have stored in my moss brain and stuff i know from rewatching the first season)

au where shiro goes evil bc of what happens @ end of season one instead of the clone thing bc 1) haggar rly could not have made thousands of shiros after bumping into team voltron like what twice? its hella improbable and 2) just… weird

so instead they insert a chip in him that helps them spy and control him just like kuron (the clone) did minus the unlikely storytelling

eventually after the convo with sendak when he was in the pod trying to temp shirp, he does have thoughts about helping zarkon

(“im already infiltrated with the arm, i could just speed up the process by leaving now. save the team the trouble of investing in a leader that’s doomed to fail from the strart.”)

shiro ends up leaving team voltron in season 2 after zarkon goes crazy w the black lion n stuff

^^ this adds to Keith’s reasoning of joining the Blade of Marmora (shiro is his main stability and one of the main reasons he even stuck around with team voltron, so with shiro gone and keith questioning his place as the leader and paladin of the black lion, he decides the BoM is just.. what’s best for him) 

obviously lance isn’t happy with this (“you just told me that i’m a valuable member, now you don’t think YOU are? what logic is that?”)

in the fight between lotor and zarkon, (and after, of course lots of self doubt and questioning) shiro comes between them and convinces lotor NOT to kill zarkon

then zarkon kills lotor

everyones like oh shit bc surely someone who’s life was just spared wouldn’t kill the person who seems to have the most power

but he did. bc he’s zarkon. and he’s fckn crazy.

shiro doesn’t go back to team voltron bc its too much too easily

instead he takes the place of lotor in the group of gals 

he convinces them all to rebel against the galra

eventually they teach him all about quintessence and all the shit lotor had planned that they can’t do anymore

(lotor wasn’t harvesting alteans in this universe bc what the heck even was that subplot that had little to no relevance to the main storyline?

instead he was trying to find a way to technologically bring back alteans (kinda like how allure’s dad was originally preserved in s1)

i know nothing about How Stuff Works and i dont remember much about quintessence n shit but the basic idea is that when tying in some of a persons artifacts with technology stuff and some quintessence then boom. a weird route from astral projection land to the team is created and ppl can come back or smth idfk

but lotor was never able to get the comet so shiro decides he and the gals will get that comet and try to bring back as many alteans as they can

^ all this while infiltrating as many galra fleets as possible + saving planets under galra empire

they personally visit every planet that lotor was in charge of and release them from galra control

they are able to bring back an altean (its romelle) and she talks abt her friend who lives on the balmera and they go to the balmera and its revealed that it was shay’s great grandmother so romelle asks where shay is and shay’s family is like with team voltron of course

so

they take her

obviously team voltron, the BoM and the Rebels r very hesitant to make contact but they decide to try it out

keith refuses to meet, instead he’s on the team that stands guard

reunions !! 

romelle and shay hit it off and hunk makes a dinner much like roselle’s past (allura and coran also hang out and they all vibe)

lance talks to shiro abt everything to do with keith and shiro is like dude do u??? like him?

and lance is like what? no ofc not—oh shit.

pidge matt and shiro catch up n shit

meanwhile keith is like Hey Lance Uhhhhhh What The Fuck

they end up being like hey since we’re all here and we hate zarkon what if we make a plan to end the galra’s reign Right Now

except something is going wrong and in the middle of an attack zarkon is able to get the upper hand 

due to haggar’s magic and lance’s mental and emotional instability, zarkon is able to get in his head

everyone is trying to talk him down but they’re all under a lot of pressure

allura is also conflicted bc she wanted to be black lion bc she wanted to rub it in to zarkon’s face that she was stronger than he and that she could beat him at his own game

but the negativity and instability feeds into zarkon’s power and makes him and haggar stronger as they pull in voltron to finally take over the team and regain their status as the most powerful alien race

hunk realizes this and is like okay can y’all stop being negative? its clearly affecting them in a good way and it makes us an easier target

and pidge is like im literally a child pls i don’t wanna die i just got my family back it can’t end like this

shiro realizes what’s going on and he goes to save them

he uses all his energy, pulling in the positive memories (everything: first learning about space, becoming a teacher, meeting adam, meeting keith, first making team voltron, his friends and family--all of it) to push back zarkon and haggar’s powers and battle once more in the astral realm 

in defeating zarkon, shiro loses his life

afterwards keith enters the ship in a hurry and is like where the fuck is shiro where’s my brother what did you do what happened

and team voltron is like hey man.. we are so so sorry

and keith cries because the last thing he ever said to shiro was mean

lance feels like its all his fault since he was supposed to be a good leader

they talk about separately while hunk pidge and allura discuss

krolia is like keith we, ur family, are here for u

and axca is there and shes like um?? hey?? sry for trying to kill u bro

and he’s like i absolutely do not wanna talk i just lost my closest friend

they talk about it later

axca tells keith abt shiro finishing lotor’s work and abt bringing people back and well.. 

they use the methods to help keith visit shiro in the astral realm

her heart is strong enough to care for everyone, so thats what she does

allura starts running an inn for alteans filled with painted sceneries like altea in case anyone ever needs a reminder of home

when lance reunites with his family its a real tearjerker

rachel finally gets her jacket back and veronica is like So.. Axca 👀

the McClain’s host a huge party for everyone and it’s filled with lots of hugs and loud music and even tho lance was way too tired, he danced all night

he wouldn’t trade his family for the world—genetic and chosen

when hunk reunites with his parents they don’t let him out the house for hours, he tells them all about his new best friend shay as well as hundreds of his favorites stories from space

they are so, so proud of him

hunk spends the next days playing minecraft and animal crossing with pidge, giving their brains a rest from being on hyperdrive for 3 yrs straight

when pidge gets home she finally gets grounded by her mom, only being allowed to leave the house to see her old teammates

(same for matt and her dad)

(her mother cries so hard when they opened the door to the home)

the holt family holds movie nights filled with popcorn, cuddles, and tears

keith moves in with the holt family, and finally accepts that he has a home as well as a family

he often goes on trips with the BoM but mostly just stays on earth

after a Team Voltron sleepover in the altea inn keith and lance decide to get an apartment together and live their lives in love and in peace

everyone gets together once a year in celebration of shiro and the sacrifice he made for them

they use the ship to visit Astral Shiro and once they even met adam

everyone laughs and catches up and just... live their lives

everyone is happy

is War Games (specifically steph being fired/stealing bruce's plans and Dying) gonna exist in ur RR au?

This is very much a ‘Yes and No’ kinda answer! I’m mix and matching a LOT of events/motivations for each of the robins. So yes, some form of War Games is going to exist, but no, it’s not quite going to effect Steph specifically? Lemme explain:

(Under a Cut for Spoilers to my RR au, and also bc Long and Rambly lmao)

Mostly I’m aiming to do some event swapping bc I like the idea of some of these events being given to their respective ‘reversed’ robins? So like, Dick n Duke’s relationships with the fam & esp with Bruce are going to be flipped bc it feels like the logical progression for someone who’s been with Bruce for the longest vs someone who’s relatively new (which is also why im considering doing a “We Are The Flock” type thing for Dick to parallel the “We Are Robin” movement. but thats neither here nor there).

So we’ve got Babs n Harper as logical swaps ofc, and so are Damian and Jason (altho for them, their backstories are so different that it doesnt allow for as much swapping in quite the same way). And you might be thinking “But randy, you’re not swapping Tim and Steph/whoever in the same way? what gives?” and yeah, youre right, im not. But that’s bc Jason and Steph... have always felt like much clearer parallels to me *shrug*

They’re the ones who get some more arc sharing. thems the breaks. my version of the AU, my rules.

The War Games arc (specifically with stealing a contingency plan into motion in an Effort to Prove™ oneself) is gonna mostly be shuffled over to Jason now. I’ve decided to commit to making Jason take up the Rook mantle regardless of what Tim chooses (or maybe even in spite of him haha) and the more I was thinking abt especially Cass and Jason’s new dynamic, and the idea of her underestimating him/goading him (as siblings do)... the more I liked the idea of Jason having a BIG chip on his shoulder and putting War Games into affect to Prove himself to the rest of the fam. That he Is just as Smart and Cunning and Capable as the rest of them. (& it having the disastrous results we all very well expect) 

And from there, that’s where Im gonna do a slight merging of the Under the Hood arc alongside War Games (altho Steph isnt going to be donning a Red Hood costume. she’s gettin :) something else)

As far as steph’s death tho, I want it to moreso be a parallel to Damian’s death. A sacrifice in an effort to protect others. Bc ultimately that WAS what damian was doing. he was capable of holding his own in a fight. I do think he could have held Heretic off... but there were people there he needed to protect. And that was what made his death so tragic, and had such an impact. That Growth™ he had before it. So imagine some of that tragedy for steph, but this time, its in the direction of “she had been doing so well and Bruce was giving her credit where it was rightfully due, despite his protestations when she had first started”... only for her to realize in a moments notice, that the Only Way to save the day, is through that ultimate sacrifice. 

I want to be clear that I dont blame any of the Robins for their own deaths, its a decision of the authors/editorial. But I do like a Good death much more than a shocking one. I ultimately accept a death in fiction much more easily if the characters have some form of choice in the matter. Esp when that choice is a sacrificial one. (which is why I think Jason and Damian’s deaths hit so hard, where Jason was doing all he could to save his mom, and Dami was protecting civilians in the area, whereas Steph’s (who had no choice in being tortured and unable to save herself in time) is called into question much more often, even tho, the same as Jason and Damian, she was intended to stay dead. that and her not dying “in costume”, which bothers the HELL outta me. like... her LAST CONVERSATION WITH BRUCE was him AFFIRMING that she was Robin! ppl who dont count her as a Dead Robin bother the FUCK outta me. i cant fdsajkl;)

Anyways, that’s kinda OFF topic. Back On: I do still want her to die more or less at Black Mask’s hands tho. We gotta keep SOME consistency. And esp bc I’ve got Plans™ for how its all gonna come back around full circle for when Steph comes back to Gotham. Her being killed in a gang war, and then being a Dramatic Bitch™ and coming back in the middle of another one... just really hits me in all the right ways too lmao

NGL as a certified monsterfucker™️ i want to say; yes. Absolutely. Of course. Theyre as powerful as they are insufferable and no one is more angry about it than Goro. Theres a fic somewhere out there (that i never did read; cant remember why) w the concept of hearing personas talk to their own users, but also hearing them chat amongst themselves and their users getting annoyed from it. Could u imagine?? Literally so fucking funny, 10/10

But realistically? Nah. I like seeing the personas as helpful extensions of their users. Like “i am you, but also i have answers to parts of you u dont quite understand yet. We work towards a common goal bc i Am you.” Not too much more than that rlly. As much as i LOVE the idea of persona couples (because they ARE good and cute and 🥺) i think it would detract from the primary goal of “help user fully realize themselves”

BUT. W that logic id love to think that loki, robin hood and arsene have all adopted (almost literally) a new user to take care of.

For Akira, Robin Hood is nearly a direct parallel of Arsene. A thief, sure, but a justified one. Maybe a bit over the top w the hero motif, as if to deceive or pretend the questionable crimes they commit dont exist. But overall, someone Akira immediately vibes with. Goro has mixed feelings about seeing them get along so well. Reminds him too much of how he first awakened Robin Hood; how tightknit and close they were until he awakened Loki.

Loki, however, is absolutely unhinged. Theres evil in this world, and it wont go away by playing nice. Seek and destroy, the ends justify the means. Will is a driving force of humanity and stripping it is a fate worse than death as evident by Ann (i wanted him to suffer; death is a cheap way out) and the numerous people whose treasures were stolen. Loki is full on an enabler, someone who thrives off chaos and what it brings, but understands that this is simply the punishment for the dredges of society. Nothing changed until They decided to take matters into their own hands. Something that Akira Understands fundamentally, but refuses to enact on such an extreme scale.

But he gets it. He understands Loki, and understands that he himself has inhibitions he refuses to let go of. In the grand scheme of things; he IS too nice, he IS lenient, and some people are not deserving of his hesitance. Maybe he DOES wanna go apeshit...Loki is waiting for the day he finally does lmao

Goro does not like Arsene. Like. Not even a little bit. He vocalizes his disdain and Arsene is like “oh, yes. Of course. In the same way you hated my user. Funny that. Ill keep that in mind.”

Arsene sees something similar in Goro. Hes nowhere near the same as Akira; theyre not different sides of the same coin. They have extremely different personalities and morals, but he can see how the world warped both of them (he sees it for all of their users). And he can think of a world where Akechi possibly awakened later in life. Or possibly, a world where Akira awakened earlier than intended. The paths are not the same, but maybe reflected in tinted mirrors.

So he treats Akechi as someone who doesnt need alot of guidance. This kids already guided himself throughout all of his life, and he figures he can continue to do so. But he DOES still help. He fights in battle when summoned, giving Goro a passive reminder of what it means. He gives unsolicited advice that leaves Goros mouth feeling a little more than bitter and Arsene feeling a bit light in the head from laughing. There are no rules. No demands. No belittling on Arsenes end. Merely...nudges in the right direction. A groomed assassin at age 16 is still a groomed child at age 16, and he hopes that maybe some passive advice is passed down from him.

He only thinks its maybe working because Goro talks now. Not to anyone but Loki and Robin hood, and very rarely Akira. But thoughts tumble out sometimes, and he allows himself the need to rubber duck troublesome feelings and ideas to, who he considers, very close confidants.

He knows for certain its working when Arsene is summoned; not to fight, but to listen.

hey leo, how do you think s3's gonna begin? are they gonna pick it up where s2 left off (aka directly after they find shiro's empty seat) or do you think they'll do a time skip? i kinda want to see their immediate reactions tbh

Hi! huh thats a really interesting question. we know that season 2 picked up right after season 1, but we also know that both seasons were planned to just be season 1, which is why the last episode of one flows right into the first episode of another. its like the show was interrupted midseason and just put on pause. so you know, its very possible that won’t be the case with season 3.

personally, id like to believe that we’d pick up right from where we left off though. i mean, losing shiro is a huge blow, and i also really want to see all the paladins’ reactions to it. for me, that’s just the logical answer. but also…i mean, we never saw anyone but shiro react to keith’s “galra reveal,” so,, they could do sort of the same thing, where we’d just kinda have to gauge how everyone’s feeling from their reactions rather than actually taking the time to sit down and talk about it. 

i think the way they handled keith’s galra reveal was really weird though, and i hope they dont do the same thing. most likely, i think we’ll have some time to let everyone’s initial reactions really sink in–and then save any possible timeskips for after. you know, that way we can see like a progression from their feelings at first to “well, here’s where they are now.” i think that would be a better way to handle it. also, they��re hyping this whole missing shiro thing up so much, i find it hard to believe they’d just brush over it lmao 

but also, if we do get a time-skip, it might not be in this time-line. like, we don’t know where shiro is exactly–and with all the talk about alternate universes and the astral plane and teleportation and time and space well,,, it could be that shiro ends up in like some alternate future au where all the other paladins are much older. 

did you ever watch the old teen titans? there’s this episode where starfire disappears and gets sent to the future, and she sees how all her teammates kinda went off on their own after they lost her, and she has to like track them all down and get them to band back together. not that i think this would happen to the paladins in our timeline, but its the kind of worst case scenario au i can see the writers kinda playing around with to show us how things could’ve turned out differently. and also maybe offer some insight to the characters you wouldn’t typically see in our own universe 

so, if we do move ahead, i think it will only be after we’ve established everyone’s initial reaction’s to shiro’s disappearance. or, we might not get a time-skip in the cannon storyline exactly, but maybe it’ll be something shiro gets a glimpse of while he’s traversing the vast expanse of the universe
