Lil’ fanfic for Leah ( @teetlebros ) because she’s cute, really invested in the TMNT fandom and that it’s easy to write about someone who has the same fav boi as me :’) Hope you like it. >3<

Happens in the 2k7 universe one year after the movie or something. Y’all ready for some ANGST ??? Cuz I love writing DRAMA. 👏

She wasn’t sure if the dewy drops on her face were sweat, rain, tears, or a mix of the three. Unable to comprehend how she felt, her usual jogging session had quickly switched into careless running in the heavy rain, not knowing where she was heading. It’s not like the destination mattered anyway. She just wanted to run, to escape into another reality; if that was even slightly possible.

Leah wasn’t used to feeling like this. She was really pissed off, and guilt was also part of this strange state of mind. Everything happened so quickly. The young woman remembered seeing a quite usual quarrel between Leonardo and Raphael, and then, everything became... weird. Words that weren’t meant to be heard got out of her mouth, and now, she wanted to stay silent for the rest of her life.

Leah had a pretty rough day at school. She felt as if she didn’t do well in her exam despite the hours spent studying, she didn’t ate much, and on top of it, her basketball team lost by a close one. Even if she knew that her team losing the game didn’t depend entirely on her, she felt somehow responsible, like she could’ve played better. At least, she was supposed to hang out with the turtles tonight. That would sure give her a break; make her feel better after all of this. She had planned to watch a movie with Leonardo, the one and only being that could make her heart beat go so fast. After two years of knowing this strange family, -due to a series of unexpected events that included a random thief in the street- Leah still couldn’t believe the many new things that were happening in her life. She never thought she would meet mutant turtles; she never thought they would become like a second family to her; never thought about the possibility that they would treat her like one of their own family members; never thought that she could fall for a non-human...

It’s not like her relationship with Leo was clearly defined as “interested in each other”, but she had secret hopes that would be the case for the past 10 months. The situation was too confusing to be talked about anyway. Realizing her feelings towards him were more than friendship already took a while to determine. Falling in love with someone... different... unfortunately didn’t come with instructions. Leah thought it would be too weird to tell him, knowing his rigidity and his rather conservative view on some subjects. He was quite secretive himself, and it’s not like inter-species relationships were a casual subject they’d talk about out of nowhere. She knew she had to wait before trying something. She kept those feelings bottled up, seeing him almost three times a week. Some moments between them made her feel like he could, just maybe, feel the same way towards her. Although, that was a risk she wasn’t ready to take for now.

Tonight, when Leah opened the security door of the lair, she saw Mikey playing video games with his headphones. He didn’t even noticed her presence. She figured that Donnie was in his lab, plus she could hear Raph and Leo arguing in the dojo. So far, that was nothing new. Although, when she approached their training grounds, she heard a loud thud and saw Raph fall on his back. Visibly, he had just been pushed by Leonardo. His older brother even put one of his feet on his torso, as if pinning him to the ground wasn’t cocky enough.

“Sheesh Leo!”Raph screamed. “I can’t believe you’re blaming me for this.”

Raph sighed loudly, trying to get his air back. He looked so done he physically abandoned the will to get back on his feet.

“I thought the Night Watcher was gone, Raph! Now, a random photographer sees you, publish this picture and it’s everywhere!”

Leo threw his swords on the ground before doing something he would regret. He seemed to apply more pressure on his brother’s chest with his foot. Leah had never seen him mad like this.

“Y’a think I’m that dumb!? C’mon Leo, nobody knows I’m a giant turtle or anything!”

He heavily sighed in response before adding : “Plus, senseï won’t notice this since he wanted to spend time at April’s cottage.”

That seemed to infuriate Leonardo even more.

“It’s not because Splinter is not there that it’s ok to act like a fool! Do you realize the danger you could’ve put our family in? Again, what the shell were you thinking!?”

Raph violently pushed Leo’s foot off of him, then started to get back up.

“You- you weren’t there Leo! Casey called me because he thought he needed backup. Besides, I’m gon’ tell ya exactly what you told me!”

He pointed towards Leo.

“Like you said, big bro; It’s not because Splinter is not here that it’s ok to act like a fool. You’re NOT him, you’ll NEVER be! So stop harassing me with your dictatorship and your rules.”

“My dict-“ Leo scoffed loudly. “Oh wow, that’s grand!”

Albeit her efforts to stay subtle, Leah suddenly lost her balance and accidentally opened the shoji door, making them both look at her.

“Oh... hi guys. Sorry, I didn’t mean to interr-“

“It’s ok Leah, we were done here” said Raph while angrily wiping sweat of his face.”

“No we weren’t,” Leo argued, grabbing his brother’s wrist. “I demand you stop going out as the Night Watcher, like you promised a year ago!”

“Demand!?” Raph immediately repeated. “Gosh, Leo, do you hear yourself? I hate you when you do this! How old do you think I am!? You should go back to your lost jungle if you hate seeing me being myself so much!”

Leah felt irked, frantic even. She didn’t had a good day, her morales were low and she couldn’t make any sense of what was happening right now. Raphael always used harsh words, but that time, it stroke a chord for her. She knew how much Leonardo wanted to be the responsible one, how much weight he had on his shoulders for being the leader. She also knew him well enough to know that -even if he had an amazing wisdom- Leo could feel bad about himself to the point where he really would go back in Central America out of this sense of failure that was always inside of him.

“Enough, you two!” She screamed out of her lungs.

Donnie peeked out of his lab immediately, followed by Mikey who put his game on pause. If only she had known that before saying the rest.

“Leo, stop being so harsh with him! And... and you, Raph ... gosh, please stop being so hurtful with Leo! Sometimes, I wonder if I love him more than you do!”

Raphael and Leonardo stopped moving immediately, turning their faces towards her. Leo slowly released his grip on his brother while a small gasp escaped his mouth. Leah’s face became instantly red, not knowing why this bottled up emotion has been so easy to keep from him until this dumb situation. It didn’t took long for her to turn around, pick up her backpack and swiftly run for the exit. Donnie’s eyes were widened to the max, and Mikey was showing a strange expression that seemed like pity had mixed with tenderness.

seeing leosagi trend on twitter makes me so happy though at the same time i kinda avoid it cuz a majority of it is yu/ichi usagi that's with leo and i don't wanna ruin the fun of the people who enjoy the samurai rabbit show, i tried getting into the show a month ago but it just... did not catch my eye the same way rise did

maybe it's cuz the show's not technically about the og usagi or the fact that i struggle to care about cast and story itself cuz it feels... boring to me? idk, it's just hard for me to get into shipping rise leo with yu/ichi when i'm not really interested in the character or show (yu/ichi i mean), esp when i'm more attached to everyone's version of rise usagi

Okay  1. I was answering another ask when I saw this and deiced nope I need to answer this! 2.no so yes let us talk about this because i see you I feel you and get what you mean as well.3. Sorry this is gonna be a lil long.

Okay so I recalled when they originally announced doing the samurai rabbit show and I was excited cause Usagi content. Forgot about it till finally getting back into tmnt after being convinced to finally watch rise cause o didn't when it originally aired. Which sent me down a rabbit hole obsession on usagi in time for the Samurai Rabbit show coming out. And to make this easier when I say Usagi I’ll be talking about Usagi Miyamoto and Yu/ichi for Usagi Yu/ichi yes I know they have the same first name that's the point it’s just for clarification here.

Now I do not mind the show it’s fine for what it is and I think Yu/ichi is cute and interesting but I have a love hate thing for the show. I spoke to a mutual on tiktok about this and I know I made a post on my thoughts about the show. I like the concept of Usagi descendant  Yu/ichi trying to become a samurai in a future time period when Samurai aren’t around, because he idolizes Usagi. Only to find out Usagi is a bad guy so he tries to clear their name. Despite that set up its not really what we get and Yui/chi didn’t really clear their name im still annoyed about that. I do still enjoy Yu/ichi mostly the design I even drew some inspiration from it for my own rise usagi because I liked the bangs. And I do find he and rise leo could be fun buuuuuuuut He is not the Usagi I want.

See as I have gotten more into Usagi’s own series I have just really come to love the character even more and love the idea of him in rise compared to a cross over with samurai rabbit. I just love the idea of the conflict in personality I just want him to be a grounded samurai who is emotionally in touch. Like especially with Leo going into his role as a leader I just love the idea of that being when he meets Usagi because of how special that friendship is in the 03 series. Besides I enjoy the Lore of Usagi Yojimbo and would love tidbits of it in rise uwu

Well I will still share and enjoy ship art of both cause i’m greedy and like Leosagi I do agree with people that the two should have different ships names. I saw seabunny mention for rise leo and yu/ichi and thats cute. But yeah well the sudden boom on twitter been nice to see and I have a friend who prefers that version simply cause yu/ichi is cannon over a rise usagi is. Thats fine though I also feel there another reason for the push on yui/chi i’m just being skeptical though so i wont say that in this. I just personally perfect Usagi myself over yui/chi. Again theres nothing wrong with him it’s just well I feel hes getting more praise than what is earned really. Based off the show am I a fan of it? eh I like it i don't know if its something i’ll re-watch I wish the writing was better I kind wanna do a fix it fic for it but that's a lot of work compared to one shots lol

TL;DR: Well I dont mind yu/ichi as a charater when it comes to the leosagi thing esp for Rise I’m in the side of Usagi Miyamoto over Usagi Yui/chi. And feel they should have different ship names also 03/2012 usagi > over any other usagi uwu

Every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Show as Rated By Me, Ya Favorite Lesbian With ADHD

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990s (7/10)

Haven't seen much of this one so I'm going easy on it. Its pretty cheesy, completely outrageous. All the turtles look the same but that's okay. April is cute and like 23 years old in this one. In fact I'm pretty sure all the turtles are like 19 or something, late teens for sure.

TMNT (2003) (8/10)

Looks super edgy, is a bit more action than comedy. Has an overarching plot and is pretty cool in my opinion. Wasn't super fond of it as a child but then again it first came out the year I was born so I might not have been old enough to really get it even by the 4kids reruns.

This is where everyone got the April is a redhead idea.

TMNT fast forward (9/10)

Okay I know this one is just a later season of the 2003 series but hear me out. Its better than the rest simply because the premise is so absolutely buckwild.

So Cody (April and Casey's descendant) has in inherited the megacorperation O'neil tech and uses his funds to make a time window to watch the turtles who hes obsessed with. The window messes up and the turtles end up in 2105 (exactly 100 years after this season first aired) and so the world the turtles play around in is super high tech and complicated and its alot of fun.

The jokes are bad and so is the writing, but like its so much fun and I love it. Its a 9 outta 10 and you can die mad about it.

TMNT back to the sewers (3/10)

Also just a later season of the 2003 series. The turtles make the mistake of going back to 2005 and its not fun anymore? Also they brought serling with them and its weird.

They also have eyes now (previous designs in the 2003 series had white out eyes) and its terrifying.

I'm sorry I just dont like this season.

TMNT 2012 (10/10)

This shit is awesome. Great worldbuilding, great character designs, the turtles acrually have personalities in this one!

Everyone's like 15 which is odd for tmnt but still chill.

Kraang is like this hive mind thing that created the ooze and its just a great show.

Seasons 1 through like 5 are great.

The do eventually go to space but like when they come back is when I stopped watching simply because Nickelodeon wouldent let me. By the time kavaxas was introduced the writing had lost its charm and everything was kinda meh. I don't even remember the last season or the post Apocolypse debacle, I remember seeing bits and peices and being very lost and uninterested.

Seasons 1 through 5 are definitly worth a watch though and this is a very good introduction to TMNT as a whole.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (10/10)

I haven't seen much because Nickelodeon won't let me watch it but, so far its fantastic, the animation is phenomenal , Aprils new design is great, you can now easily tell the turtles apart!

Its fun the writing is hilliarous and it looks like the show is setting up something bigger and more serious. I have a feeling that it's gonna progress slowly into the more serious aspects over time and have the turtles fall into their normal roles.

Right now all the turtles appear to be like 13 (they act like middle schoolers) and its actually fun? Their personalities are not as distinct but I think that will change over time! Also new weapons?????? Yes!!!!!

I just wish Nickelodeon would let me watch the show!!!! I'm 16!!! I don't have a say in wheather or not my house gets cable!!!

Alright, I took a back seat long time ago with rants, I PRAISED this show. STUCK UP for Ciro all this time. I dont blame the whole TMNT crew cause they were doing their job. But I will blame you CIRO.

From the very beginning you said you had 5 seasons planned. So this “finale” of yours was planned? Really? When even the network changes it up, that kinda gives you an idea, it should give you an idea that, the “Finale” wasnt child friendly. IM AN ADULT AND THAT SHIT WASNT FRIENDLY WITH ME.

We can handle alot. Well I can, I dont know about others. I wont speak for others. But for myself, I handled Splinters deaths, the fast pacing, and the stuff that made no fucking sense what so ever. I handled your stupid obsession with monsters back in the day, and with your annoying references, I put up with the ending to that space arc, WHICH ILL ADMIT I LOVED IT, but of course you had to make it so...deflated.

Season 4 should of been the ending to this series. Season 5 should of never been made, and if it had, you should of resolved the fucking stuff you started not make insane bullshit tales. Granted the crossover arc and ICK was indeed canon and legit, but it again held nothing. Usagi arc, while it was amazing to see him, IT DID FUCKING NOTHING.

YOU ALSO HAD A FUCKING CHANCE TO SAY APRIL’S MOTHER DIED IN FUCKING SEASON 3. But why the fuck would you say that you----

Okay. Breathe Mik. Breathe. I know its not totally Ciro’s fault, for the other arcs, but this “Finale” bullshit I BLAME HIM FOR. IT has his name written all over it. You seriously just couldnt give these teens a happy ending could you? I legit see why Nick canned your ass. If it was up to, the turtles would of either been horrible injured or killed. Splinter already died for shit sake. Like in season 5, i ACTUALLY STARTED MISSING THE KRAANG AND SHREDDER. Why? BECAUSE THOSE WERE ACTUALLY GOOD FUCKING PLOTS YOU DIP---

Im trying to be level headed here. Im trying to be calm. Im trying to see your side Ciro. But honestly I cant. To say you have respect for the turtles and then go and do this to them was just, mind blowing.

Now Im not saying go be a dick to this guy, sadly he had his version, thank god its fucking over. YEAH I JUST SAID THAT YOU DICK. but that doesnt mean I cant be mad. I will be mad for a while. I dont know, I know im being unfair, but I cant help but to think this stupid finale was on Ciro himself. He never liked master splinter, and it shows in all the finales except season 1. I kinda think Nick had it when you tried it for a third time. HELL I HAD IT WHEN SEASON 4 HIT.

Whats bad is, IM LOOKING FORWARD TO 2018 VERS. Why? Causes its not in your sadisting horror movie obsessed grubby little hands. 

DONT MAKE A SHOW IF YOUR GONNA JUST END IT LIKE THIS JUST TO BE A DICK TO YOUR FANBASE or to keep people from remaking.

This show had promise. This show came out, and made me fall in love with these turts. Made me fall in love with everything of these turtles. Season 5... as much as I love ships. And the kavaxas story, and all the other tales, I wished this show would of ended at season 4, because it ended in a decent way. In A RESPECTABLE FASHION.

Would it resolve issues that are now left unresolved? No, but it surely would of been better then that apocolypse bullshit.

If you ever do another one of those, LEARN THAT THERE WOULD BE BUILDINGS DESTROYED AND RUN DOWN. LEARN THERE WOULD BE STILL HUMANS IN THE GOD FORSAKEN WORLD, and LEARN THERED BE AT LEAST SOME FOOD, oh yea....LEARN THAT TURTLES WOULD NOT GROW HAIR. My god....

And learn that TMNT will be rebooted, and your version may even get remade in the future into someone elses vision. So no this does not stop ANYONE to go back and change this. It will happen. Like it or not.

Aslo, this isnt related to this but Im glad the show is over cause now I dont have to see you and brandon whining about leaked episodes or spoilers. Like holy shit guys. But I digress. For now.

Ciro, to me, you were the villain this whole time. Flavor yourself and stay away from TMNT all together if your not gonna give it the closure it fucking deserved.

Ill do a post later on maybe expressing about the fandom and stuff...but I wont say goodbye. I will go on with this show as if it hasnt ended.

Its about on par with the first film, not significantly worse or better in any way that warrants mention. Sure its more comedy focused, but more gags made me laugh so it plays out.

Other than the complete abscene of Casey Jones, it feels like a healthy follow-up to the first film. The Foot Clan are a shadow of their former glory, the Turtles' origins are explored as they search for a new lair, Shredder becomes obsessed with vengeance as he ups the stakes by creating new mutants, its almost all accounted for.

The animatronics are a slight improvement over the first film, so Donatello no longer looks like the leftovers from behind-the-scenes. He also gets a new, much more naturally sounding voice actor, and his persona of "the brains of the bunch!" is actually present here, though his knowledge with regards to science and technology is obviously limited. Donatello has never been my favorite Turtle because most versions of him are a walking deus ex machina, capable of solving any issue because he has virtually no limits to his knowledge, so I prefer his skills be limited. Him being the one that has something of an existential crisis upon learning that their existence is because of a fluke is interesting because in the Mirage comics that's usually Raphael's role. Though it is a prelude to how he'd be defined by being skeptically minded in the IDW series and go head-to-head with Leonardo (Leo is the only Turtle old enough to remember their past lives and Donatello doesnt believe in reincarnation).

The Turtles's origins here are a bit anticlimactic if only because this is only major version of the property where aliens dont exist. No Krang. No utroms. So where there is room for more spectacle and worldbuilding, this film leaves it a vacuum. I dont know if there was an earlier draft that did feature those elements or if it just wasnt in the budget, its such a bummer. Im of the mind that the best origin for the Turtles was the one introduced in the IDW comics, wherein they and Splinter are reincarnations of Hamato Yoshi and his actual sons, but that's 20 years out from this film's initial release.

Keno could have done more, but I like Raphael taking on a student so to speak of his own. It preludes the Mirage comics involving Raphael becoming the Shredder for a while and then later being the mentor of April/Casey's daughter Shadow.

April doesnt get much to do here, but its an issue with most Turtles media where she isnt all that interesting after she's first introduced. Shredder conversely is plenty more interesting, the design tweaks they gave him make him look less comical and his ambitions of wanting the Turtles dead and gone make him more of a menacing presence. Him becoming Super Shredder at the end is a "thanks but no thanks" type of thing, it happens too late in the film to be of much interest. Super Shredder, like most aspects of the Turtles mythos, would be made much more useful in the Nickelodeon series.

Tokka and Rahzar only exist because this film couldnt get the rights to use Bebop and Rocksteady from the Fred Wolf animated series, and their relative non-existence in most Turtles media confirms it. Tokka is in a bad spot because in terms of evil Mutant Turtles, the position was already filled by Slash. Rahzar's only decent incarnation is the one from the Nickelodeon series, where he's not even his own character. He's the second mutation of Chris Bradford, a Chuck Norris parody that works for Shredder. Chris had already been mutated once into Dogpound, but eventually found his body too cumbersome and wanted to reverse his mutation, but a second exposure to mutagen fucked everything up. Admittedly the skeletal ninja design for Rahzar sells it for me.

Id be remiss to not mention the musical number by Vanilla Ice. "Go Ninja Go" is the only song of his Ive heard aside from "Ice Ice Baby". Vanilla Ice would preform the song again in 2014 in a commercial for TMNT Kraft macaroni and cheese, so its ~nice~ that his contribution to the franchise wasnt a ome off deal.

Starting up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of The Ooze (1991) and it opens up with "In Memory of Jim Henson".
