an ex mate might be someone who found him too intense and broke up with him, someone who indulged his narcissism and boosted his ego til his other quads were forced to intervene, or something else entirely, as long as there was a reason they had to break up (i currently dont want him to have a red quad 4 Reasons)

Time to clean your dash and replace the hand-wringing wankfest with blogs that are genuinely supportive of Louis’s career (I have recs if you need some, any blog that’s complaining or despairing on Louis’s behalf right now...idk what you need, man, the good stuff is happening??).

Ditto twitter...there are a lot harries trolls who crow triumphantly when they perceive anyone in One Direction “failing” because they need that validation on some level, but the sooner they overcome the boyband fan stigma, the better for everyone (twitter is garbage, but you can follow people who celebrate Louis, you can follow fans of the rest of them who aren’t dicks, I never pay attention to what’s “trending” on twitter because it’s targeted at you and your self-selected interests, not the world, believe me, the world isn’t that tuned into who said what about Liam).

Don’t compare Louis to anyone else, especially anyone in One Direction, he doesn’t deserve it, and it’s not fair to him, them, OR you. All five of them are in different stages of their careers, all five have different goals, problems, setbacks, audiences, teams, demographics. Yes, HS2 is making great numbers, actually a lot more than HS1...so zooming out, what do you think will happen with LT2? (I don’t remember HS1 being no. 1 in so many countries in its first 24 hours, but even if I’m wrong, Louis’s success in one fucking DAY has been incredible).

You don’t get paid to worry about charts and numbers, and it doesn’t sound like it’s a hobby you enjoy for fun, so why are you torturing yourself over it? Why does it even matter, you can prove ANYTHING with charts and stats, and Louis himself has said he’s not focusing on that, so why should anyone else?? hey maybe a wack question, but how do you typically find out about local shows? like it’s probably different for every area but i don’t really know what to begin searching, especially when looking for like smaller bands yknow? (like i want to discover newer bands and house shows and that kinda stuff..?)

honestly its all about connections. im friends with a lot of local musicians and have been going to shows in diy spaces for like 4 years now, so i know my way around the scene pretty well by now and have plenty of people to ask about upcoming shows etc. since ive only lived in 1 city my whole life i really have no idea how to get into a scene if ur new to it other than by knowing someone who knows more about it than you. if u can find a local band or a friend whos into music they might be able to tell you. idk anything about ur city so really i have no idea im sorry. if u live in a bigger city im sure its easier to ask around. i find out abt most shows through friends or social media (facebook event pages + the instagram pages of the diy venues). i think u just need to ask around, or look around the internet. all u really need is that first connection, to go to one show or make 1 friend in the scene, and from there youll find more and more. dont be afraid to ask people for help/info! theyre more than happy to help u! i always love when someone tells me theyre new to denver or the music scene and i give them a big list of diy spaces to check out :) even if u go to a show in a non-diy venue, if u find some cool people u can ask them for info on good places n bands :)
