Ellie, during one of her stints of what do I do with my life right now, decides to, with the help of her Original Dad-Person (Look he’s aging and she’s not and it gets less questions the older he gets if he says daughter instead of sister with how the Fentons are getting older too) creates a Boo-Tube channel. No, not a Youtube channel, those are stuck to a single dimension.

Bootube on the other hand? Due to being through the Realms (and wow is Tucker getting so much income from creating it) is interdimensional. Which is so cool honestly. And she doesn’t know what to do at first, and honestly there’s already so many travel blogs that she kind of just… decided to do something that she wished someone had done for her and her brothers and Danny when she was new to the world. 

So she creates the channel CAAW: Clone Awareness, Accommodations, and Welfare. They had to learn things through trial and error, but maybe she can help someone out there learn how to find their own selves, or even help someone not melt.

in the modern au would they adopt?

There's been talk of this a couple of times before and I'm still on the fence about it myself. I think Vasco likes the idea of fatherhood and would have children if given the choice. Machete doesn't hate children but is strongly unnerved and doesn't know how to deal with them. So the odds of them agreeing to initiate the adoption process aren't promising, but if they, by some random chance, found themselves responsible for a child, it's entirely possible they would grow very attached to the kid and excel as parents.

I love Tarn and Camien Nurse. They're both so dumb about the situation they're in.

Nurse: We're going to divorce eventually. Right? Right?!

Tarn (looking up from tickling soft newspark frame): Yes, of course. I'm just doing my absolute duty to you.

Also Nurse, performing a lot of Seekerkin social bonding rituals, including but not limited to: herding the Tarn in the showers after a hunt ("It's for hygiene."), continuously nesting in his hab after each carriage ("For the bitties and my sleep schedule."), and figuring out his fuel preferences for meals ("A small token of gratitude for everything, even if it's his own doing.").

Also Tarn, constantly seeking out Nurse's attention during free time, manhandling the entire family for activities, literally went to get genital piercings because of a giant misunderstanding, sharpens Nurse's collection of blades, and basically menacingly looms over everyone else (not part of the Justice Division) that tries to get near them.

One thing I'm headscratching about WRT the 'one save' rule being 'untested': what exactly would you call the fall of Beacon? Yang's maimed, out cold (again) & on the verge of execution, but not a peep from the egg donor who likely link-sensed at least some of that. I mean, the rule itself is also probably 'more of a guideline', but so far as 'mom hasn't been there and still won't bar Something Big', message sent.

i mean. the time for raven to intervene then would have been before adam sliced off yang’s arm, there is no way she could possibly have anticipated and reacted in time to prevent that in the span between yang rushing forward and losing the arm two seconds later, and in about the time i imagine it would take to process the VERY SUDDEN tempo change from “yang is scared but not in imminent danger” to “DISMEMBERMENT?!” yang had been scooped up by her teammate and rushed to safety.

remember that adam’s slow, threatening advance in that moment was toward an illusory copy of them that blake left behind; yang was not on the floor longer than a couple seconds before blake got her.

we don’t know exactly how raven’s danger alert works but her semblance does seem to feed her enough spatial information for her to know things like yang being moved. (there is… also a nonzero possibility raven was there in bird form, given she was hanging around qrow that way earlier in the volume, in which case the semblance question would be moot)

whereas on the train, yang was unconscious and had no one else there. (notice also the delay between yang getting knocked out and raven port along in: we see in other contexts that over long distances, her portals take a bit of time to open at the other end)

raven’s “saves” seem to mean “if a bond of mine WILL DIE without my immediate intervention, i will intervene. once.” not “if you’re severely injured and a teammate of yours rushes to your aid and gets you out of there, i’ll appear to thwack the guy who hurt you.” and that’s a line she draws because she is desperately trying to hide that she cares.

but in vacuo she’s going to be trying to hide that less and the “rule” is going to turn out to be bullshit as soon as she stops posturing.

I think Pregnant Stone = Soft Stone. He'd be singing softly to his baby bump, constantly caressing the bump. He plays his Bollywood vinyl albums for the baby. He cuts back on the amount of spicy food he eats. He no longer wakes up at four in the morning to start his day, instead he sleeps in later.

He cried happy tears upon seeing the ultrasound at his first appointment, babbling about how he'll love them so much. He buys so many parenting books, intent on not being like his father. While talking to the baby in his womb, he tells them that he'll love them no matter what. No matter what gender they are, no matter how eccentric they'll be.

I've always had a thought about him being able to stitch and knit, because they're important life skills, so he's knitting his own socks and baby blankets for the baby.

He definitely doesn't do much heavy-lifting around the house, since he's in his mid-thirties and that's when pregnancies are in the danger zone. But he's determined to ensure this pregnancy will go smooth and that both him and the baby makes it.

He sees the world in a bright light now, there's finally someone for him to fight for. Someone to fight to come home to. And he'll protect them as much as he can.

Tbh I’m like thinking abt future au romance stuff and I keep kinda switching my mind on certain things

In the future as talks of Balmoral's kingship continue, there comes with it talks of his legacy. Balmoral's goal and plan had always been to establish a meritocracy-- he had no interest in handing off his crown to a possibly completely inept heir just because they were related by blood. However, the Unseelie are unused to change in their own ways, and the nation had gone through its own bit of instability the past few regime changes that had ultimately ended with Balmoral forcibly taking the throne. Because of this, it was soon understood that it would be best for Balmoral to first at least have an heir to stabilize his reign...then implement his meritocracy.

So Balmoral needed to get a kid or two.

A fairly simple endeavor, except for a few caveats. First, Balmoral would have no interest in having children with any other than his partner, Mhoirbheinn. Of note, their relationship even in the present time is something that is really just between them. They're not I.nstragram official, so to speak, for privacy reasons, professional reasons, and so on. Anyways, secondly, Mhoirbheinn also didn't like the thought of Bal having a child with anyone else. Balmoral taking over lovers was fine, so long at it was Mhoirbheinn he returned to at the end of the day, but a child was a physical tie and a mingling of Balmoral's bloodline with another's. Yeah, Mhoirbheinn wouldn't be jazzed at that thought.

The third thing though, and the biggest wrench-- Mhoirbheinn didn't want to be a parent. He had no interest in it, for usual and also personal reasons.

So the two of them came to an agreement. Mhoirbheinn would help father the heir, but he would not be their parent. The truth of their other parent would be kept secret from all and from the children as well (for safety reasons too, since it'd just increase the target on the kid if Mhoirbheinn being the parent as well was known). For all extents and purposes, Bal would just pop in out of nowhere with the heir (since they would also keep it a secret that Balmoral was the one who birthed them (Harbinger physiology stuff, I'll let Kirei explain it if she wants to but basically what you need to known is that Bal could make it so he was able to be the birther), to help further hide who the other parent was).

So, the heir that turned out to be heirs were born and were simply told that Balmoral was their single parent father, and that the dour-looking guy beside him was his lover. Since the fae get their kids whichever ways they can, no one really batted an eye at the unmentioned presumably mother of the twins.

Some of the Generals suspect or have figured out in some way the truth, but no one's snitching and causing trouble.
