genre. fluff. headcanons. warnings. uhh planes. security checks (ew). food mentioned in almost all of them. not proofread. pairing. verivery x reader. wc. 500 or smth. request. no. a/n. idk randomly watching verivery vlogs and kangmin happened to look very boyfriend while on the plane so here we go (love traveling sm btw traveling is my bae) also who can tell i have a soft spot for yongseung...
LEE DONGHEON ミ 이동헌
way too chaotic while travelling because of the adrenaline of being on vacation
wants to buy all the souvenirs from shops— hats, stuffed animals, shirts, mugs, everything
you have to persuade him to not buy an extra suitcase and check it just to get more stuff cause he would
guards your luggage like his life depends on it whenever you go to use the bathroom or get food
BAE HOYOUNG ミ 배호영
most practical while travelling, he likes to be efficient
super organised during security checks, manages to sort all your electronics, jackets, and shoes into different bins at the speed of light
super into the views from the plane and likes to take pretty pictures or timelapses of the clouds
relays announcements to you if you were sleeping or had trouble hearing
HONG MINCHAN ミ 홍민찬
neck pillow connoisseur he probably packs way more than he needs just in case and buys a new one at the airport cause of the fun designs
always buying the most random trinkets just cause they’re funny
overly gentlemanly when you’re boarding; stores your luggage and ushers you to the window seat while calling you “milady”
reenacts the safety instructions that the flight attendants do with silly faces to make you laugh
JO GYEHYEON ミ 조계현
honestly sleeps wherever he can, both on the plane and while waiting to board
doesn’t like to get separated from you so he’d most likely follow you if you wanted to walk around or shop even if he isn’t too interested
makes travel playlists and shares his airpods with you so that you’ll both remember the trip through songs
gives you commentary on whatever movie he’s watching, complaining about annoying characters or plot-holes
JU YEONHO ミ 주연호
master of the comfort airport fashion so he can sleep on the plane, but also have a million pockets in case you need him to carry anything
is serious about ordering food and will take his time to pick the best options
100% gets lost at least once while window shopping
he loses where you are and is left wandering around the terminal forever trying to find you again
KIM YONGSEUNG ミ 김용승
uses your shoulder as his pillow instead of the other way around (he's the princess around here)
will write on his phone or in a notebook to communicate with you to get over the noise of the jet— he doesn’t like to raise his voice much :(
never gets lost in airports and always keeps track of the passports, tickets, gate number, etc
will store your luggage for you so you don’t have to lift the heavy suitcase
YOO KANGMIN ミ 유강민
let’s you rest your head on his shoulder
picks the same movie as you and times the start of them so it can sync up between both of your screens and you can watch together
plays with any jewelry you have on your hands/wrist while you sleep
orders food for you so you can sleep longer and will share his food with you if you want :(

Summary || Through a friend of a friend, you have been invited to some rich boy's birthday ball. Although large crowds aren't your thing, you've always wanted to go to a ball-themed event. However, you had not expected to soon be living out a modern fairy-tale.
Word count || 1.6k
He should've known it'd catch up to him. As soon as he entered his 20s, it's all everyone around him would talk about–
When are you getting married?
Are you talking to anyone?
You should meet this person!
And all he gave was an awkward smile. He didn't want to disappoint anyone, but how could he explain that he doesn't want to be with just anyone? Maybe it's all from all the stuff he's grown up watching, but the idea of having a romantic love had always enticed him. Not simply the cheesy romance, like talking in a cafe, but the hopeless type. The type only seen in, well, Disney movies.
There were times he'd often stare out the window and picture a grand ball. He'd stand idly by until his eyes caught a figure by themselves. As he mustered the courage to talk to them, the crowd between them would part, allowing him a direct passage to this dream person.
Divulging in this fantasy with others mainly resulted in eyes rolling or laughter. People told him to be realistic and use a dating app like everyone else. However, when his family proposed doing a grand celebration for his birthday, he jumped on the opportunity and blurted out that he wants it to be a modern ball. Of course, he won some odd looks, but the idea was accepted and promptly executed.
Although, now that he's standing here, scanning the crowd, reality started to kick in. How in the hell is he supposed to approach someone when he's... him? A handsome face, yes, but past date attempts have been all too truthful about his awkward personality. He was letting out a deep sigh, when he was interrupted by his friend's voice, "Staring's rude, you know." Minchan smiled teasingly at him.
"You scared me..." Dongheon muttered.
Minchan's smile dropped. "Ohh, no pouting or whining? Something's gotta be wrong." He nudged the other's shoulder. "What? Haven't had your Disney moment?"
"Hush." Dongheon frowned as he attempted to swallow down the embarrassment from rising. Then, he sighed again. "I don't know, I thought things would be different–"
"Well," Minchan patted his back, "you can't expect to find your dream person just standing here. I saw some potential people staring up at you..." He sighed and suddenly squished his friend's cheeks together with a hand, "Such a pretty face and it's wasting away up here!" He laughed as Dongheon swatted his hand away.
"Easy for you to say!" Dongheon huffed as he fixed himself back up. "You can just walk up to anyone and have them melt. With your dumb deep voice and stupid curly hair–" He began to grumble. Minchan hummed in agreement, but his gaze was directed elsewhere. "Hold that thought. Why don't you watch me at work? See how it's done." He hurried down the steps without hearing a response from the other. The birthday prince scoffed in disbelief, electing to ignore him instead.
He was getting tired of standing idly though...
Another sigh was about to leave him when his eyes caught something. Someone. They were by themselves, leaning against a pillar. Even from this distance, he noted the slight sparkle in their eyes, a secret eagerness to join the dancing. Before he knew it, his feet began to move. He weaved through the crowd, muttering quiet excuses. He was afraid of breaking his gaze. As if they'll disappear in a blink.
He barely heard his name being called.
Someone suddenly grabbed his arm. He turned his head to see it was a young woman. One he was actually trying to avoid throughout the night. Still, he smiled politely and asked, "Need something? I have somewhere to b–"
"You haven't touched the floor at all!" she pouted. "Come on, just one dance? I've been practicing this for weeks..."
He furrowed his brow, "How can you practice this–?" But was yanked back to the center of the floor. His head snapped back to the stranger; they were still there, now checking their phone. Oh no, they're getting bored. Dongheon bit back an irritated sigh as he returned to the woman dragging him. He forced a smile at her, even as she tried to pull them closer together as they danced.
Fortunately, he towered over her, and whenever he could, he would raise his head to check in on the stranger. Oh, this wasn't how he imagined it at all! He couldn't let this opportunity slip away so easily. That's when he noticed the other dancers. They were switching partners!
As soon as another duo came close, he passed the woman along. He... almost fell forward, though, considering her death grip on him, but he managed to break free from her. Okay, all he has to do is keep doing this and somehow... somehow get to them.
If this is who fate wants him to be with, then he'll fight tooth and nail!
The music began to swell in his ears, his moves energized by determination. It was a bit tricky at first, finding the timing, but nothing he couldn't handle. Within moments, he was weaving through the crowd and, bit by bit, was inching closer to his goal. As he was reaching them, though, he noticed how fast his heart was beating. He could see their features more clearly. His stomach twisted. No, there's no way he can talk to someone so–!
Their eyes met.
And the stranger smiled. It's a miracle Dongheon was holding onto someone, otherwise he would've fallen forward right then and there. He whipped his head back, eyes darting nervously. Reality was finally catching up to him. But he's so close! He can't be his own demise. Finally, he took in a deep breath and relaxed. Just a few more steps–
"Aw, just one dance, please?"
His head jerked up at the familiar voice. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted his other friend pulling the stranger to a dance. "Kangmin!" he hissed at him. Kangmin looked up and merely gave him that stupid, plotting smile. Oh, he's going to kill that boy one day.
But he kept his eyes on the pair as he danced and continued to switch partners. Compared to Kangmin's outgoing nature, the stranger appeared to be a bit shy and avoided eye contact. His heart melted pathetically at their blush and awkward smile.
But his feet were beginning to ache. How long have they been dancing? Is this really what fate has in store for him? To be this close and yet–?
"Oh! I'm... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you like that..."
Being in his own head, he barely recognized that he's switched partners. He stared wide-eyed at the stranger. They're so much more lovely up close. His voice caught in his throat, but he quickly cleared it. "It's okay!" he winced at his own voice cracking. "It's fine. I, um..." Oh, come on, Dongheon! Get it together–
"It's my first time doing something like this," they muttered, avoiding his gaze. "I don't go out very often... but my friends insisted." He noticed they began to ramble quietly. But it gave him a chance to relax. A smile slowly appeared and he gently readjusted their hands. His head tilted to the side. He wanted to see their eyes so badly– to see that sparkle.
"... Your hands are sweaty." they softly add. It snapped him out of his thoughts and an embarrassed blush swiftly rose up. "Sorry, I–" he stumbled through an apology, but when he tried to pull his hands away, their grip tightened. It's when he noticed their subtle trembling. "And yours are shaking," he retorted.
Their head shot up, and his breath hitched in his throat. Such a beautiful color...
"W... Well, of course I'm shaking a little," they grumbled, "got me dancing with a pretty man–"
He raised an amused brow. "Pretty man?" He subtly pulled them closer. "What about the other guy you danced with?"
"What? Him?" They shrug their shoulders. "He's cute, but not really my type."
"So... what is your type?" Dongheon innocently asked. His thumb began to gently rub over their knuckle. He could see the red appearing on their face. They were avoiding eye contact again.
"M...My type?" they repeat. "Um, I... I don't know. Tall, dark hair, pretty face... I like someone awkward, though. I think it's cute," They look up at them as they speak. Now, it was his turn to feel the heat. "Haha," he swallowed a lump as a stupid, cheesy joke was thought up, "well, I think... I think I know someone who checks all the boxes."
"Do you?" They laugh softly. "Tell me, what's their name?"
"Dongheon..." He answered sheepishly and held a smile to match, "You know, it's his birthday today."
"Hm? Oh, I didn't know that. Think you can introduce me to the birthday boy?" Their smile grew wider. Ohh, they're toying with him badly. But he mustered up his own smile, "Y... Yeah, I think I can."
They hum in appreciation then look off to the side. "Dongheon..." they quietly repeat. He thought it was them calling him, so he responded, "Hm?"
"It's a pretty name. I like it." He squeezed their hand in response. He can't tell if he's getting better or worse as time goes on.
"I bet yours is prettier," he tilted his head. It earned him another laugh, which caused his heart to flutter. "It's (y/n)." they reply.
"(y/n)... Ha, I was right." He smiled warmly. "Well, (y/n), do you... want to talk somewhere quieter?"
"I thought you'd never ask," they sighed, "My feet are starting to kill me."
He burst out laughing and all too eagerly grasped their hand to pull them out of the dancing circle. As he tugged them along, he spotted people staring. Kangmin gave him a thumbs-up, Minchan did a little salute, and that one annoying girl stared daggers at (y/n). But he didn't care what anyone had to do or say.
It wasn't a picture perfect fairytale, but it was pretty damn close.

BIRTHDAY PRINCESS .ᐟ.ᐟ.ᐟ
cw: l.dongheon x fem!reader, fluffy smut; oral (f!receiving), unprotected p in v sex; some feelings etc., not much is happening and it's mostly vanilla but lmk if i missed anything
wc: 693
a/n: it's my birthday :DDD i'm scheduling this post for 00:01 on saturday 23rd so that you won't be misled by the timezones anyway i had to uncrust my skills yet AGAIN and since i saw a screenshot of dongheon from the ep at the gym i'm writing all of this from my grave. peace out and i hope to come back here in no time again :DD
“you’re my princess, right? i will treat you as one.”
it’s not like dongheon is treating you differently on everyday basis but today is an even more special day. your birthday.
his head rests between your tits as he’s inhaling your delicate scent. he’s taking his time with you, not like any of you is in a hurry anyway; the fact that he even took a day-off is actually surprising to you.
“mmm, my- pretty princess,” dongheon is mumbling to himself while kissing your chest gently, while his hands roam around your thighs, hips, and waist. you’re sitting at the edge of the bed, with dongheon trapped between your legs and his head in your chest. your hands mindlessly run through his hair as you slowly doze off, lulled by the slow tempo and by the overall coziness of the situation.
dongheon slowly moves down with kis kisses, trailing a way down to your cunt, and as you lay yourself down on the mattress, he’s spreading your lower lips with his fingers.
“so that’s why you barely touched the dinner,” you laugh, remembering his words about how his dessert will satify him enough. but it’s like dongheon doesn’t hear anything; like he’s in his own world, which is actually true in a sense.
he starts by kissing your clit, slowly swirling his tongue around it, earning a few whimpers falling from past your lips. slowly pushing one finger inside you, he still nips and sucks your clit, which only drives you off to the crazyland even more. there’s nothing else on your mind, only dongheon, his lips, fluffy hair messed up thanks to your hands, and soon you start dozing off about other parts of his body, causing you to clench around his calloused finger as you mewl about how good it is.
it doesn’t take long for him to bring you over the edge; your hips move on its own as you ride through the ecstasy, using the face of your boyfriend for it. you smile through heavy breaths when dongheon gets up, runs his hand through his hair and stares at you with that eyes, full of desire and lust with sprinkles of drunken fascination.
“my princess- so good,” he says, hand going up from your waist to your inner thighs, spreading your legs apart. with one hand, dongheon adjust his length to your entrance, and the other is holding your leg over his shoulder. “can i?”
and when you agree, it’s when the fun begins.
dongheon is slowly pushing his length into you, and even if it goes in inch by inch, it’s still making you full. the way you clench around his tip alone is not helping, though at least he gets to know you’re as needy as him. nice.
“impatient, are we?” he laughs when he notices how you try to wiggle your hips just to lure him even more inside. “i’ll make you feel good in no time, i promise, but- you need to- be calm, okay?”
his own brain is slowly shutting off, words not making much sense together. not only your walls suck him in so delightfully but also that cute stare you give him, asking and begging to finally start the good stuff.
with the last push, his impressive length is all inside you. your eyes roll back, your lips part and a moan escapes past them. that’s when dongheon kisses you with the passion burning inside him, letting you know that the flame is all for you. after few kisses, your muscles relax and as you cup your boyfriend’s face, you let him take control.
dongheon breathes in. he’s on the verge of breaking and using you like a fleshlight; he knows that it’s your day and he’s ready to make you feel so, so good, although the feral thoughts can’t stop creeping into his mind.
he rolls his hips into you once, then once again. thrust after thrust, he’s calming down thanks to the steady pace he started. kissing you again, he swallows your moans as you do with his; you two start to melt into each other, becoming one for eternity.

Happy birthday Dongheon 🎂 🥳
The rain flowing down your body gave you a chill. You was grateful that the walls to your garden was tall and no neighbours could witness the scene.
Your boyfriend Lee Dongheon was on his knees. A silk cloth blindfolding not just his face but tying up his manly hands also. Bending over him your hands enjoyed the feel of him. His sleeveless jean jacket clinging soaked to his skin was a blessing to see and feel. His abs tense under your touch as you enjoy exploring his wet soaked skin of his stomach. Hair dripping with the gentle summer rain was a view that had your thighs tighten. “Oh daddy does look delicious,” you mock to his gentle growl. Bowl of strawberries in your hand, you kneel between him as you drag it along his lips. Removing it as his lips open agape to enjoy the sweet treat. You couldn’t help but giggle at his show of teeth to your toying. Following your second attempt his teeth snap at the fruit. “Don’t be naughty Daddy,” you snap pulling on the strawberry that the stalk is the only thing he allows you to take back. “Oh your so naughty,” you tease watching him chew looking as if he was in heaven. The rain gets harder in that second like it’s ready to punish you. Droplets dribbling from his hair soaking down on to him which heightens your arousal. You watch as a rain drop creates a stream down the middle of his chest towards his navel.
Lips falling to his neck he shudders in surprise as you let sweet kisses fall. You can feel the vibration of hums and gentle moans against your lips as your hand tackles his clothing. Letting his complete top half of his body unearthed to the elements, you let your lips kiss along every inch you could find. You can feel his hands fighting behind his back to set himself free. Thighs tightening at that very prospect because you know once he finds freedom, he will torment you himself. “Tut Tut, your being very bratty,” you smirk standing up. “Takes one to know one,” Dongheon growls as you smirk amused. Walking to the bag of goodies that’s now become a pool of its own, you pull the soaking wet flogger. “Well look at that, you couldn’t handle it could you,” you said positively despite being slightly anxious. The flogger is soaked in collected rain water and you fear it will hurt him more then you want to. Nevertheless you walk behind him with a softly swipe hitting his back. Instead of a cry he chuckles amused which makes your head tilt a little in confusion. “What’s up not hard enough,” you tempt him but he chuckles once more tight lipped. Placing it under the umbrella to avoid another soaking for use later, you look at the wet mess watching him shiver under the rain. His nipples are erect as you have a desire to warm him up. His hands that you felt so attractive have droplets running down the noticeable veins.
Dropping to your knees in front of him once more, you reattach your lips to his collar bone. Your fingers rubbing his nipple as he growls once more. “Are you a dog?” You mock as you bite in to his skin blemishing him. “Naughty puppy,” you smirk leaning up to lick his face as you feel his jaw tense. Lips falling to his nipple, your fingers find his other, playfully tweaking the sensitive bud. Instead of growls to fall from his lips soft moans escape. Your Free hand falls down his stomach to his shorts. He’s such a tease, he’s wearing thin material. His very impressive cock straining against the fabric. You can feel the veins throb the second your hand runs along it. “Oh Daddy is so needy,” you say by his ear as he breathes a sigh of relief at his sensitive body parts respite.
The rain had dropped heavy along his blindfold that its begins to slip. Too heavy to replace that your hands rip it off. His eyes dark, lust fallen even, in your sight. You gulp as you watch him smirk feeling his revenge swirl in his mind. Another attempt to free himself has you step back bracing yourself for a the demons freedom. But his struggle doesn’t become fruitful, that you can’t help but chuckle. “Oh Daddy, you can’t beat your princess,” you smirk taking that step forward closer to him once more. Lips pursing you admire the vengeance that would scare your core if you knew he wasn’t bound at that time. Pressing your lips to his he kisses you with a hastily speed. Teeth taking the opportunity to bite on your lower lip. Yelping you pull away to place your finger against his teeth induced injury. A dab of your finger against the skin tells you it’s bleeding a little as you look at his amused face. “I should punish you for just that alone,” you growl as he chuckles with amusement. Duck pouting his lips your way tells you he’s toying with you. He knows he hasn’t opened his mouth to speak and therefore can’t be punished. But nothing was in the rules about him taking his revenge by biting the skin you foolishly brought near him. Hands grabbing his manhood slightly a little more harshly then normal he growls. “Well that’s what you get for biting me,” you scoff letting your hands rub him with a harsher touch. Hands toying with the elastic band of his shorts you pull it as far as you can. His butt cheeks half hanging out. Smirking you can see he’s refusing to work with you. But you don’t let this knock you back as your hands fall inside his to press your fresh skin on his throbbing shaft. Bending into him to reach to pump his cock within his clothes, his teeth nip your neck that you’ve failed to protect.
Pulling back he winks as you scoff, hands touching to feel if the skins broken which it isn’t. “You really are vicious aren’t you,” you complain despite the fact your core is melting. His snigger tells you he won’t relent at all and when his hands lift to show you, you gulp.
The prey has now become you as you pushed yourself backwards landing on your ass as he stands. “Oh princess did you have fun? Now it’s my turn,” he growls stepping towards you. The rain in that moment decided to fall heavier then earlier in the night. Your own clothes becoming wet soaking and stuck to your skin. His toes crunch onto yours making you yelp as you realise he will torture you right there in that spot. Though your mind is filled with anticipation, your core is burning with need. “You stay right there or you see that,” he growls pausing to look at the flogger. “I will use it on you, but more harsher then you used on me,” he smirks as his feet lift from yours.
Pulling the bowl of floating strawberry’s he brings them your way. Tipping the excess water over your cleavage. He looks a little disappointed that your bright coloured corset isn’t thin enough to let your skin be see through. Hands falling to your clothing, he pulls it apart in one tug unearthing your breasts to his sight. Your nipples erecting as soon as the rain falls on them. Hovering over you he lets his lips cover your bud as he suckles while his hand grope the other. Totally engrossed with your breasts he doesn’t care for shelter from the rain.
Fingers tugging against the elastic band of your pants he rips leaving your aching core to the elements. Smirking against your skin as his fingers roll against your clit has you mew. “Oh look at your needy cunt, your dripping soaking wet ready for me,” he snarls. Fingers slamming straight into your heat you whimper as he takes his frustration out on you. “Remember your safe words,” he softly says in a gentle reminder which tells you he’s at the edge from ruining you. You’ve never been tempted to even use the warning words let alone to stop the torture he sets. But you know turning the tables on him on his birthday wish will have him throw a bigger hell on you tonight. Curving his fingers they press harshly against the soft padding within you. Your body jolting as you react as he wants, falling to pieces at his touch. Thighs shaking he removes himself licking his fingers in delight. His eyes falling on the strawberry’s which have become flooded once more.
Scooping one he crushed it in his hand letting the juices drip. Bringing his hands to your mouth he lets you suckle the fluid. The refreshing sweetness being just what you need for energy of what’s to come. Grabbing another he crushes it above your breasts letting it drip down on to you. His tongue attacking the second your coated as he drinks the juices from your skin. When he finishes he gets a third and aims over your heat, smirking devilishly at you as he coats your core. To make sure he’s coated his meal well, his hands return rubbing over your clit briefly, before a couple pumps against your walls.
As he wasted no time he presses his lips to your pussy. The rain having a short pause to your relief, before your mind is taking to his tongue swirling against your nub. But when it enters to slide against your walls your fingers rush to his hair. As he tongue fucks you, you let words spill that your sure is inaudible. Your mind being swarmed with an impending orgasm at the skill of his tongue. The view not helping the situation as you take him in. His dampened hair at the return of the rain still dripping as it runs down his face. His eyes glazed over as he’s in heaven toying with his prey. The sharp jawline in view as you watch him move to get closer within you. Thighs trembling once more it signals your close need to cum. Instead his removal let’s you burn further in a much more desperate need.
However, what he does next surprises you as he grabs his phone dialling away. “You want a treat?” You heard him smirk to the stranger he just video called. Not knowing what collapsed more your heart, expression or heat when you hear who’s on the other end. You had spoken about him watching you fuck knowing your crush on him when you was younger. But you never knew he would actually make it become reality especially on his own birthday. “Oh she does look delicious doesn’t she,” Hoyoung said smirking into the screen as he throws his hands threw his blonde hair. “Wait let me get you under the umbrella,” Dongheon said passing you the phone as he gets up to reach for it, feeling it start to rain heavier. “Fuck her good Hyung, I want to see her a whimpering mess,” Hoyoung said running his tongue down his inner cheek. “You let him fuck you good baby,” he coos as you hear him unzip his pants, preparing to relieve himself at the show Dongheon clearly wants him to witness. “I don’t hear a yes,” Hoyoung complains as you respond immediately. “Hey did you forget who’s your daddy,” Dongheon growls squeezing your cheeks with his fingers before snatching the phone. Placing the device on a chair in the garden covered by an umbrella, he lets his boxers fall showing his cock to spring, showing off.
You hear Hoyoung hum excitedly as he sits on the ground, patting his lap for you to join. “Bring those strawberry’s with you,” he orders as you obey. “Impale that pretty pussy of yours,” he demands as you gulp in anticipation. Sinking yourself down on him you both hiss till your still full of his cock. “Right you can’t moan or nothing, pure silence,” he demands as you look at him in horror. You know your very vocal when having sex and that this task will be very hard. “I’ll be a good boyfriend and help you out,” he said cupping your face sweetly with a tone that told you he was plotting. Taking the bowl from you he places it beside him. Popping a strawberry into your mouth you look at him confused. “Don’t eat them, they’re to stuff your face to keep those moans at bay,” he said placing another. “How?” You muffle as the third enters. “Because if you try the juices will flow down and I will have to torture you more,” he said looking at the flogger. He continued to fill your mouth till he knew you was stuffed as you struggled to remember to breathe through your nose.
“You can start riding me now,” he said swatting your ass. Setting a pace you felt the pain in your knees from the ground beginning to make yourself sore. But it was better to focus on that source of pain then the excitement that was beginning to fill you. However, the pain seemed to highten your senses, you could feel the drips of the strawberry juice flowing down your chin, clearly showing your struggles. “Oh princess your failing miserably,” he coo’s as you increase your speed. Your walls clenching around him from the view of his soaking wet dripping hair has moans escape from his own.
“Fuck this,” you hear him curse as he pulls you off him. You chomp the strawberry’s in your mouth instantly, regretting as you splutter from it going down the wrong hole. “Oh you didn’t,” Dongheon growls and you know instantly your in trouble as you try to enjoy the fruit juices remaining. You watch as he drags a box near the camera where you can see Hoyoung pumping himself on the screen.
Wiping the juice from your face he offers you his hand dragging you to throw you over the box. Hoyoung’s face is the only one you can view now. You hear him move to collect some items and you can already feel the flogger is one of them. Shoving more strawberry’s into your mouth you watch Hoyoung smirk into the screen, his cock throbbing in his hand. You’ve barely caught your breath when he slams into you from behind. The flogger hitting your ass as you yelp crushing some strawberry’s in your mouth. “Fuck,” you hear Hoyoung hiss as he pumps himself faster. Dongheon increases his speed, the moans failing to be held as you become a red stained dribbling mess. The swipes of the flogger against your skin doing little to control you. The burn isn’t painful now and instead has made you Extra sensitive. He realises his failing in his control of you and the situation, making him yank you up. Hands grasping around your neck your hands lap over his big manly ones, which has you moan louder. His slams become more harsher as he chases his own high. “Fuck Hyung she looks so good, shit I’m about to cum,” Hoyoung cry’s down the phone. Hoyoung moans mixed with Dongheon is driving you crazy and your walls are quivering around his cock. Dongheon’s grip around your neck tightens as you both hear Hoyoung’s release. your eyes watching the juices of his cum coat his hand as his body relaxes into the chair. Dongheon’s lips pressing into your neck biting, which causes you to yelp, crushing the remaining strawberry’s in your mouth. The image to an outsider would be that he was a vampire. Due to the view of dripping juices coating his hand around your throat and dripping down towards your navel, making you a sticky mess. But the image clearly was encouraging his high as you could feel his voice tremble. Whimpers of your name fall in to your ear as he fucks the remaining thrusts he has into you with intense speed. The mixture of sounds helping you to fall off yours as you convulse milking the remaining drops from him inside you.
Releasing his hands, you drop to the box you was pressed against, panting as you fight for air from the intense orgasm. “Princess,” Dongheon says kissing your back gently. “Baby,” you say catching your breath. He pulls you to him as you coat him in the stickiness too. “I hope I didn’t hurt you,” he said sweetly as he kisses your lips as you lightly chuckle exhausted. “No baby, you didn’t. I had fun experimenting with you on your birthday,” you sigh feeling your eyes feeling heavy. “Let’s get you inside and cleaned up,” he smiles at you adoringly as the rain starts to ease off.
Before you can leave you can hear Hoyoung yawning in the background and you remember your being witnessed right now. “Night Hoyoung,” you smile as Dongheon waves before ending the call. “Come on,” Dongheon smirked pulling you back in to get you cleaned up.

hopelessly devoted // lee dongheon
👑 pairing:: lee dongheon x reader 👑 genre:: fluff 👑 summary:: overhearing the boy that you love talk to a girl about some girl that he fell in love with hurts. but overhearing this at a party makes it just five million times worse. ——————————————————————————
“we were never dating in the first place so it shouldn’t even matter to you.” i looked up in the direction of the kitchen to overhear the girl who was now screaming at what dongheon had just said to her. over all this loud ass music and the multiple people dancing in front of us, we still managed to hear that one sentence. i looked at hoyoung trying not to burst into laughter. he shook his head sitting next to me before whispering in my ear that i should cut it out.
“who is this girl?” i laughed putting my head on his shoulder when kangmin walked past to sit on my lap stretching out to lay his head on hoyoung’s lap. hoyoung put his arm around my shoulder resting his hand on my arm.
“who’s heon hyung talking to?” he looked up with his puppy eyes at the two of us and we shrugged then i glanced back up to look at dongheon.
“some girl that’s been hanging with heon. she’s been clinging to him for the past few weeks.” yongseung came up behind us sticking his head in between hoyoung and my head. i bit my lip trying not to seem like i was pissed off, wait no was i being jealous?
“you being jealous there y/n?” hoyoung whispered in my ear and i glared at him before turning to slap him. i looked at minchan who was approaching the two in the kitchen but stopped before he was in view of either of the two.
“me? jealous? pft.” i rolled my eyes putting my hands down in my lap. when i glanced up again to look at heon, he turned his head around his shoulder straight at me. the way he smiled at me, made my whole world stop. through the people dancing i couldn’t look away. at all. i was definitely in love with him and every single one of the boys were catching on. i bit my lip when i kept eye contact with dongheon.
“what the hell was that look?” hoyoung teased me laughing, to then i scoffed rolling my eyes lifting kangmin’s legs off of mine to walk away from this annoying situation.
“i can’t take this anymore.” i said under my breath and as i was about to walk away, hoyoung grabbed my wrist turning me around pushing kangmin off of him. to which kangmin groaned then shot a glare at him before looking up at me. i shook my head pulling my wrist out of his hands. just as i walked past the kitchen, i heard the one sentence that made me stop.
“you fucking fell in love with a girl and expect me not to care? i thought we had a good thing going?” she scoffed to which i turned over my shoulder to look at minchan who was now wide eyed staring straight at me. i bit my lip and stood as still as possible. then i heard dongheon speak up after her constant talking.
“yes i fell in love with y/n. you and i were strictly on a no feelings relationship so i don’t know what the hell happened to you but i fell in love with someone else and when i get the chance to-” when i heard those first seven words, i shot my head up to look at minchan not believing what i had just heard. just as dongheon was about to finish his sentence i got pushed from behind, ice pouring down my back. i screamed before slapping my hand over my mouth because i was realizing now that i was in view of dongheon and this girl.
“y/n!” he ran towards me grabbing my wrist pulling me through the crowd of people, up the stairs and into his room, the door closing behind us. he pulled a hoodie out of his drawer as well as a towel from the bathroom and ran over to me.
“take off your shirt and dry off with this. are you okay?” he panted while looking me straight in the eye. he turned around after he got a nod from me and patted my head. i took my shirt off and dried off with the towel he gave me, thank god it was water. i grabbed his hoodie taking a deep breath smiling before pulling it over my head.
“i’m done changing.” i smiled again when he turned back around to face me. he walked up to me and i completely stopped breathing when he put both hands on my cheeks.
“you heard every word i said didn’t you?” his eyes darted from my eyes to my lips, then back down to my eyes. i nodded avoiding all eye contact.
“i-i tried not to. i won’t tell-” i started rambling because i was nervous. of course i was nervous. dongheon was inches away from my face and he was laughing. i couldn’t stop looking at him because my god was he good looking when he smiled.
“you won’t tell who? y/n did you even hear the name i said?” he scoffed laughing then put his arms around my waist. he pulled me towards him his chest up against mine.
“i mean i did but-but i just thought it was a mistake. there’s no way you would say my name.” i laughed nervously and dongheon tilted his head. he narrowed his eyes then licked his lips.
“what are you talking about y/n? i said your name. of course i said your name. you’re the girl i’m in love with.” he smiled rubbing the back of his neck before taking my hand into his.
“you’re what?” i gasped to which he laughed at then walked back over to me. he placed both of his hands in the crook of my neck before pulling me inches away from his face.
“hopelessly in love with you.”

k verrers do like giving them cute head pieces
can i request a pillow prince dongheon?🥺
Pillow Prince
note: i turned this into headcanons since my brain malfunctioned and couldn't come up with a fix
includes- sub!Dongheon x dom!reader, praise, sex toys, mirror kink, overstimulation
if you like my fics please reblog them with a nice comment or tag
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can totally see Dongheon as a pillow prince, since he loves to lay back and let other people do the work
loves to get spoiled with lingerie and have you help him put it on (you take polaroids of him when he’s all dressed up and he poses like an ethereal being)
has the prettiest and most expensive collections of toys (heart shaped glass anal beads and what not)
never takes off his plastic tiara, even when you have guests over (though they can’t see the matching butt plug that decorates his hole)
praise him and he’ll let you do anything you want; he’s very good at taking everything you give him, but he’ll stop cooperating the second the compliments stop coming
likes it when he sits in front of a mirror between your legs, and you gently brush his hair while a pink vibrator buzzes inside of him
likes to be held or to hold onto a plushie while you fuck him, and he loves to make a mess of the soft fabric when he cums
“I got Mia all dirty [he names his plushies], you have to clean her up again”, he'd say with an exaggerated pout
complains if you don’t please him right and you keep having to remind him of who’s in charge, even when you’re balls deep inside of him
the only way to break him is to make him cum over and over until he is left speechless and fucked out, clinging onto you and mumbling thank you’s when he finally catches his breath
half to your half
➳ Lee Dongheon is a praised choreographer for a soon-to-be debuting boygroup, but the trainees are complaining about his strict way of teaching, so he ends up at your dance class alongside literal kids.
“What do you mean I need training? I’ve thought you hired me because I was good enough.”
The air in the meeting room froze for a minute, but Lee Dongheon was firm in his words, and he wasn’t going to break the silence first when he was the one who had asked the previous question. He didn’t want to give up on keeping the eye-contact with the coordinator either because he was sure that sooner or later, the 30-something guy would break. He wasn’t willing to leave just yet, he needed his answers if he was about to receive training when he had been hired because the entertainment company had deemed him the most suitable dance choreographer for their soon-to-be-announced boy group.
“The thing is…” Mr Park started hesitantly, lowering his voice as he continued. “The trainees are complaining.”
Dongheon almost let out a snort hearing that. Almost. The only thing that held him back was his pride and the fact that he was a professional, so he wasn’t going to show that he wasn’t happy to receive such news.
“About what?” He quirked an eyebrow challengingly, having a feeling about what it would be about, but not wanting to back away either. He wasn’t even exactly surprised when he was told:
“About you being too strict.”
“They need to take dancing seriously. It’s not a child’s game. They are preparing for their debut, much worse is waiting for them once they eventually make it to live shows and all that,” Dongheon reasoned with a click of his tongue. He didn’t regret how he had treated those kids. Sure, they were 14-16 year old teenagers, but if they didn’t learn how to behave well during dance practices, when would they take their idol life seriously? One wrong move was enough to turn someone’s life into a hellhole, and they could laugh all they wanted outside of his dance practices, but he wasn’t going to let them have their way when he was their dance teacher.
So no, he didn’t want to show any remorse, nor did he want to seem like he was willing to beg for the company’s forgiveness. He didn’t think that he had done anything wrong. If they kept making mistakes, why wouldn’t he force them to practice more? Maybe he wasn’t the most beloved dance choreographer of all time, but his previous dance teams had never really complained. Though they hadn’t even been as young as these kids.
“Why don’t you just find a new choreographer then?” Dongheon asked flippantly, keeping the eye-contact with Mr Park. The coordinator let out an aghast sigh, then put his hands down on the table, leaning over, so that he could be closer to the guy and explain in a whisper-like tone:
“Because the choreography is yours, and the company is satisfied with it. You just need to soften up a bit,” he said, almost pleading. It seemed like they really did try to keep him at the company, but the choreographer wasn’t exactly happy about some random training when he had other dance classes to attend and other dance groups to teach.
He looked down at the inked words on his arm (a war worth fighting for), the half of that so-called soulmate quote everyone had on their skin. It was like a tattoo, but you couldn’t get rid of it no matter how much you tried. You had half of a quote and your soulmate had the other one, and when you said the two out loud at the same time when you finally found each other, the other half would be engraved into your skin.
He always looked at this half-quote as a life motto. He felt that if he wanted to achieve something, he would only get it if he worked hard enough for it, so that it seemed like a fight. Maybe this particular one would be the same.
“How?” He raised an eyebrow in an almost elegant way, willing to listen if they didn’t want to bring him into some nonsense. Hearing that, Mr Park leaned back, his lips curling upwards. He should have known that the man’s smile didn’t indicate anything good, but what he expected in that meeting room on that fine spring day was very, very far from what actually happened afterwards.
Lee Dongheon found himself at a different dance studio a few days later, staring at the palette of colourful clothes the kids were wearing as they were giddily running around the practice room, occasionally bumping into him and moving on after giggling a bit. If he called the 14-16 year old trainees kids, these kids were toddles. They couldn’t be older than 12. Tooths were missing, boys were screaming in high-pitched voices and girls were still taller than boys. This age group wasn’t something he had ever dealt with, and he didn’t even intend to do so. The entertainment company didn’t seem to think the same though.
He felt so out of place that his usually sociable self started feeling anxious, but it wasn’t because of the amount of people around, but rather because of the age group and their typical (and loud) antics. He didn’t get why he would need to spend time beside a dance teacher who taught dance to kids because it wasn’t the same dealing with teenagers and literal kids! They had different capabilities and different physiques, so how was he supposed to learn anything useful from this so-called training?
That’s when you walked in, dragging him out of his wandering thoughts, and greeted the kids cheerfully. They seemed to like you a lot, grabbing your hand to pull you closer to the centre of the practice room, hugging you (or well, your abdomen because they weren’t that tall to hug you properly) and chattering to you. You listened attentively to them, your smile dazzling and eyes shining in fondness, and only when you walked closer to the benches, did you actually catch sight of the choreographer.
“Oh, hi! You must be Lee Dongheon,” you noted with a bright smile, bowing a bit out of respect. He did the same, albeit a bit fidgety. You took note of his behaviour, cheekily remarking:
“You look like you’ve been reprimanded. Relax! It’s just a class for kids. I don’t even know why you’re here. I only know that you’re going to teach kids as well and need my help,” you explained to him beamingly, and you could see how his shoulders slumped. So you didn’t know. That lifted some weight off of his shoulder. Not because he was ashamed of the reason behind his presence, but rather because he didn’t get it either why he was assigned to you, so how could he explain the situation to you?
“Well, we could say so.” Dongheon nodded hesitantly because he wouldn’t quite phrase himself like that, but let’s just leave it that way.
“It’s okay. I’ve only been teaching kids for three years myself, so I’m not very experienced either, but all I can say is that with time, you’ll surely get used to it,” you reassured him first things first, and when you made sure that he didn’t have any questions, you clapped your hands to gain the kids’ attention, and started the class.
You started shushing the kids and telling them to follow you while you were presenting warm-up exercises. Dongheon followed you a bit clumsily in the beginning, but once he realised that the kid beside him wouldn’t give him odd glances (well, not all the time, just sometimes), he loosened up a bit, and you flashed an encouraging smile at him before continuing. After the warm-up, you went over with the steps for a choreography that you had started teaching the kids last time, and it wasn’t anything groundbreaking, so you weren’t surprised that Dongheon learned the moves just like that, and once it was time for the practice rounds with music, he executed it without any problem.
You decided that it would be best if you showed him how you usually led the classes and after going over the teaching part, he could try himself out while you were practicing the moves with the kids. You hadn’t been given any instruction on how to treat the dance choreographer and what you should do differently compared to your usual classes, you had only been told that he would need to learn how to teach kids, and it was your uncle who had asked you to let him join your classes, so how could you say no?
However, when it was time for the practice rounds by the end of the lesson, and Dongheon took your place, all you could hear was:
“Again!”
“Again!”
“Again!”
You shook your head after a few attempts of his because you could see how demotivated the kids got, their heads hanging low and their usually buzz killed right away. It physically hurt for you to witness what he was doing, and even though you were sure that he would make a great dance teacher one day, he really needed to learn how to deal with kids on top of being a good dancer himself.
“You can’t just tell them to do this again without pointing out their mistakes. They aren’t old enough to realise what they’ve done wrong each and every time.” You stepped beside him, deciding to interfere at this point, and despite the slight annoyed expression on his face, he didn’t voice out his disagreement, so you took it as a good sign and started going around the practice room, telling the kids individually what mistakes you had caught onto while watching them from the side. Then, you walked back to him, signalling him to go on.
You could see that the ones you had told about their mistakes tried to correct themselves, but there were still some children who did the moves wrong by either missing a beat, forgetting to move their hands alongside their legs or putting their arms in odd angles.
“Ag-” Dongheon started automatically, but when he caught himself saying the word, he immediately stopped. He sucked in a deep breath and closed his eyes briefly. For a moment, you assumed that he would give up and leave the dance practice behind, saying that he can’t do it any longer, but a second later, he started going around the room just like you had done so, instructing the kids what they should do differently.
You tried to conceal a triumphant smile, but you were proud nevertheless. He might have looked like he wanted to avoid directly touching the kids or that he was searching for ways to let them know about their mistakes without using too much professional dance vocabulary, but at least he was trying, and you appreciated that. Victories always started with initial attempts.
As he walked back to the centre, you tapped a few times on your wrist, indicating that it was time to finish the class, and he nodded.
“Okay, let’s do it one more time, and then, you’re free to go!” Dongheon announced firmly and when he gave you the signal, you pushed the play button on the laptop and started the music. You watched as this grown young man did the trivial little moves with your students, and you couldn’t help but smile at the sight. It was so obvious that he was used to something different, something that required more physical strength and stamina and probably more powerful moves, but he seemed to get the hang of your choreography by the end, and he was sweating nevertheless when the final round was finished.
“You all did well today, I’m really proud of you! Don’t forget to practice what we’ve learned so far! See you next time!” You clapped your hands as you were ready to bid your goodbye to your students. They all left in their own ways, but you liked that they were still pumped up, and some of them left the room while doing some moves. You gave them encouraging thumbs-ups and watched them leave with a fond smile before turning back to Dongheon.
“I can see that you have the intention of bringing the best out of them which is essential, you just need to keep in mind that teaching them and practicing with them isn’t the same as practicing by yourself and prompting yourself to do better,” you pointed it out based on what you had seen, but before he could say anything, you added: “But you were good. I could see the improvement.”
Dongheon seemed a bit speechless, ruffling his pitch-black locks to cover up his nervousness, but he still mumbled a hasty thank you in the end. You were content with just that much since it was the first time you had ever met. You inquired if he had any queries, but when he shook his head, you let him go on his way, watching with a knowing smile as he left. Then, you packed up your stuff after everyone had left and headed home.
The next time it was time for a class with the same group of kids, you arrived earlier than your brand new student slash co-tutor. You still didn’t really know why exactly he would need his training and why your assistance was enough because you were nowhere near an experienced professional, but you didn’t want to question neither your uncle, nor him. After all, you were sure that they would tell you if it mattered at all.
You put down your stuff on a bench, opening your laptop and getting ready to start the class while the students were coming into the classroom, chattering as cheerfully as always. Some of them went up to you telling you what they had been up to, or who around them had found their soulmate, and you listened attentively, finding their childish innocence and passion heartwarming.
Truth to be told, you didn’t believe in soulmates as much as those kids did. Maybe it’s because you had tasted the bitter medicine of life when you had been kicked out of an entertainment agency on the verge of debuting because you had messed up your final evaluation, but you didn’t believe in fairytales and in life working out the way you wanted it to. Not anymore. You had more important issues to deal with and more important questions to dwell on other than that big soulmate question even though everyone around you seemed to be buzzing in your soulmate-centric world. There were apps where you could upload your half-quotes and find which one seems matching, there were soulmate-based restaurants and selfie booths and movies and you name it. Once, you might have been interested in finding your soulmate, but after you had decided to become an idol and dating wasn’t allowed for trainees, you had tried your very best to hide your quote with those special sprays you could get your hands on.
You weren’t the only one who wanted to hide their quotes. Idols actually did so while performing live if they hadn’t yet found their soulmate, athletes did so and most teachers and professors did so too because they didn’t want others to see it. You couldn’t blame them. Soulmate quotes were highly personal, and those who didn’t want the whole world to see it and strangers gawking their eyes on what those words on their arms could mean tried to hide it, and there were creams and sprays and plasters and all kinds of things for such purposes. Even though you didn’t hide it anymore since your dreams of becoming an idol had shattered into pieces, you were reassured that you could always hide it if you wanted to.
“Hi!” A familiar male voice dragged you out of your thoughts, and you were lucky that you were currently sitting because you were sure that you would have stumbled backwards if you had been standing, you were so startled.
“Hi!” You averted your eyes to Dongheon who furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but you just shrugged off his unsaid question. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt that was tucked into his high-waisted black jeans, a black belt and black boots, the whole look highlighting his physique. He looked more as if he was to attend a fashion week rather than a dance class with kids, but you wouldn’t comment on his outfit choice for the world. Maybe he had come from a recording and he had needed to dress like that.
“Are we continuing the choreography from last week?” Dongheon asked as he put down his sports bag beside you on the bench, fishing a water bottle out of it and taking a sip from it while he was waiting for you to answer.
“Yeah, it’s the same as the last two weeks, and if everything goes well, we’ll be done with it today. Then, we’ll review it next week and record it at the end of the class.”
“Do you always record them?” He quirked an eyebrow as if it had been that weird, but you nodded confidently nevertheless.
“The kids like to watch it back, and their parents love that they can see their kids dancing,” you explained to him with a smile, thinking of that group chat you shared with your students’ parents. You were lucky that they were all very supportive of their kids’ hobby, it warmed your heart to read their compliments and to hear about their feedback. In a way, it was a way for you to feel as if you had left an impact on their lives. Just as you had wanted to do so by being an idol; you wanted to help others, to cheer them up and to give something to them that would make their lives a bit better, a bit brighter. As an idol, it would have been your songs and your performances, and as a dance teacher, it was the choregraphies you created for the kids and the weekly classes you gave.
“Understandable,” he noted after a few moments of silence, and you were about to ask him why he had posed such a question, but one of your students who had just showed up interrupted you.
“Are you going to teach us today, too?” Minhyuk inquired with his big doe eyes as he looked at Dongheon who was much, much taller than him. Dongheon looked back at you for support as if he had wanted you to answer the question for him, but you just shrugged your shoulders. If he wanted to learn how to teach kids, he needed to learn how to interact with them.
“Yes, I will.”
“I don’t want tooooooo,” cooed the kid with a pout, and you had to sniffle a giggle because he was just so cute, yet Dongheon was just so startled. “You were so scary last time. I don’t want to learn from you,” Minhyuk went on, puffing his chest out as if he had been ready to fight. You wanted to applaud his bravery, but you were so curious about the other dance teacher’s reaction that you kept your reactions to yourself and watched their interaction instead.
Dongheon scratched the back of his neck out of nervousness, then ruffled his pitch-black locks. Once. Twice. Three times. It could be seen that he didn’t know how to react because his eyes were flickering from one side of the room to the other, and his hands were fidgeting with the material of his shirt. Minhyuk kept looking up at him as if he wanted to intimidate him, not the other way round, and you were ready to rise from your seat and interrupt them, trying not to bring Dongheon into such an uncomfortable scene during his second class, but he decided to handle the situation by himself.
“I’ll try not to be that scary today,” he promised a lot softer than usual, but Minhyuk couldn’t be bought with just that.
“You pinky promise?” He raised an eyebrow in question as he held out his pinkie, and you were almost certain that Dongheon wouldn’t give into his wish, but in the next second, he crouched down to be at eye-level with the kid and sealed the pinky promise with the little boy. Minhyuk boasted a boyish smile at that, and bounced back to the rest of the kids with newfound joy.
Dongheon stayed in that pose for a few seconds as if he couldn’t quite believe what had just happened, and when he straightened up and looked at you, your lips curled upwards in an encouraging way.
“That was impressive!” You complimented him and gave him a thumbs-up before he could try to ask you to forget about it or deny that he gave in because he had a softer side, he was just not good at demonstrating it. You didn’t even let him say anything, you got to your feet and walked to the middle of the practice room, starting the class.
This time, the structure of the class was a bit different than last time because you asked Dongheon to do the new moves beside you, so that the kids could familiarise themselves with him and maybe feel closer to him by seeing that he also made mistakes from time to time. Although it was rare, you reckoned that it was only fair that he could be seen as something other than immaculate, and he didn’t seem to mind either. Even though you could see his frustration rising whenever someone missed a beat or made an obvious mistake or started acting up (because they were restless kids after all, occasional tantrums were inevitable), you didn’t need to interfere as much as last time. He still had a long way to go, but at least now he had taken your advice from last time, and pointed out the students’ mistakes albeit a bit harshly sometimes.
After the class, as you were packing your stuff, you didn’t think that Dongheon would speak up even though you could feel his eyes on you. Yet, when you walked back to your bag with your laptop in hand, he broke the silence:
“I don’t know how you can be so patient with these kids,” he mumbled in awe, and you tried hard not to show how surprised yet thankful you were.
“You learn how to be patient when you wait for years to achieve your dream, only for it to be taken away from you in the last minute,” you blurted out absent-mindedly, but when you saw the confusion in his eyes, you realised what you had just said. Damn it. “Nevermind,” you added with a semi-awkward smile, hoping that he wouldn’t dwell too much on your words. You didn’t want to dump your sappy ex-trainee life onto him out of all people. You were sure that he wouldn’t care.
“Anyways, good job today. You’ll get the hang of it soon, I’m sure,” you remarked in your best supportive tone, and watched as his face turned a shade brighter. Oh, so he could feel flustered because of a compliment. What a rare sight.
“Thanks.” He bobbed his head before gathering his stuff and leaving the practice room with you by his side. You bid your goodbye to him at the entrance as you were heading two different ways, and maybe you had seen it wrong, but it was as if you could see an empathetic smile playing along his lips. As if he had understood you even without you telling him about your crushed dreams.
Sure enough, Dongheon did start to get the hang of it, he just needed to learn how to treat kids on top of being a dance teacher. Or well, rather before knowing how to be a dance teacher to kids. Because someone could be an excellent teacher and horrible with kids, yet someone could be amazing with kids, but wouldn’t make a good teacher. So the two needed to go hand in hand, and you hadn’t been born with your current skills either, you had also needed to learn how to be a dance teacher to kids after giving up on your idol dreams.
You had loved dancing, you had loved kids, so you had thought that it would be rather easy, but you had had to learn a lot in the beginning, and if it hadn’t been for your love for both children and dancing, maybe you had given it up from the start. However, you hadn’t wanted to let this opportunity go when you had had the chance to continue learning unlike the time you had been kicked out of that agency.
You always watched Dongheon interact with the kids with a fond smile, and you had to realise that once he had gotten over his initial discomfort and sulkiness, he was seemingly starting to enjoy himself beside the little ones. How couldn’t he when he acted like a big baby sometimes? You wouldn’t have believed your own eyes that he was the same person from your first dance class together if you hadn’t witnessed both sides of him, but maybe he had just not wanted to do this whole thing in the beginning, and it had kept him from being his true self.
He could be silly and childish around the kids, joking with them and giving in to join their little games or listen to their ramblings. They even started to interrogate him about his life (and his love life), and despite them desperately wanting to know about his soulmate quote, he kept it hidden, telling them that he might show it one day but not so soon. You could understand him since they had tried to play matchmakers when they had seen yours, too, and it’s not like anyone could blame him for wearing long-sleeved shirts because it was winter anyways.
Thanks to the kids though, you got to know that he was a choreographer at an entertainment company, and he taught soon-to-be debuting teenagers, thus he was here to learn how to teach them in a less strict way. Even though you tried to bury your resurfacing memories from your trainee days, they came back anyways, sending a wave of bittersweetness through your body. When Dongheon caught onto your shaken up state and worriedly asked if he had said something wrong, you merely shrugged it off. It was all in the past, you told yourself, and decided to start the class instead.
However, it wasn’t only you who showed a different side of themselves during your classes. It was around two months after your first class together, and you could feel his tenseness from the beginning of the lesson, but decided to not bother him if he didn’t want to tell you about the reason. Maybe he was having a bad day, that’s all. On the other hand, when he got more and more frustrated throughout the class because of the kids’ mistake, you couldn’t just sit idly.
“That’s wrong. Do it again!” He practically ordered Kangmin to do the moves in front of the others without music, and when he was still not satisfied, he put his hands on his hips, letting out a long sigh.
“Can’t you see that you’re doing it wrong? You’ll never become a professional dancer if you keep messing up like this.”
That was when you decided to interrupt him, standing between him and the kid before he would say something that would move the boy to tears.
“Dongheon! You can’t talk to a child like that,” you told him firmly, and it was the first time your voice had such an authoritative edge to it. Whenever he was being a bit too harsh, you tried to prompt him to change his attitude in a rather friendly, nudging way. However, this time, you couldn’t just let him be. It seemed that your usual teaching style wouldn’t be effective on him.
“Why not? Should I be kind when life’s only treating me unfairly?” Dongheon looked you straight into the eyes, his words dripping with hurt and pent-up fury. His gaze could burn a whole city down with its fierceness and power, but there was something very sorrowful, very bitter in it, and your heart sank as you kept looking at him.
You were about to open your mouth when he turned on his heel and left the practice room, the sound of the door shutting behind him echoing for a long time before you found your voice and carried on with the class, your mind wandering off from time to time, wondering where he could be and what he could be feeling.
Not knowing his contact and not feeling like you had the right to pry into his life, you hadn’t seen, nor had you talked to Dongheon again, but you kept thinking of the reason behind his outburst, and it killed you that you felt like you couldn’t do anything for him. You could feel that there was something going on because there was no way he would have gotten so angry at Kangmin all of a sudden, but at the same time, you weren’t close enough to talk about such things. You wished you could be there for him because even if you might not have been able to help, you could at least listen to him.
The next week, you were so lost in thought that you merely registered that someone was already in the practice room when you entered, and if it hadn’t been for him speaking up first, you might not have recognised him until you had walked further.
“Hi!” He greeted you with a neutral expression, but you could detect guilt hiding in the corner of his mahogany eyes which made you feel even more empathy towards him.
“Hi!” You reciprocated his greeting with a subtle smile, not sure how to act around him after last time. So you decided on putting your bag down on the bench beside him without saying a word, letting him decide if he wanted to say something or not.
And so he did.
“I’m sorry.”
As you felt the words hanging in the air, you could feel how difficult it was for him to get it out, but at the same time, you could feel that it was as sincere as an apology could be. So you followed your heart and sat down beside him, looking ahead of yourself.
“It’s okay. You’ve probably had your reason,” you reassured him because anyone could have something going on in their lives that might affect how they treat others. You merely hoped that if he could share the burden, he would be willing to do so, but before that, someone had to show that they cared. So you gave it a shot. “Want to talk about it? If it’s about dance, I’m an ex-idol trainee who has been kicked out of her company after the final evaluation, so maybe I can understand.”
You weren’t afraid to confess something like this now because you wanted him to know that he wasn’t alone with whatever he was feeling. And despite the clear surprise on his face that you could see in the front mirror, you had a feeling that he already had a feeling that your back story would be something like this. He might not have been extremely nosy, but he was observant enough, so you were sure that he could guess some parts about your past.
“It’s not that. Not just that.” He shook his head decisively, and let out an aghast sigh. You finally looked at him and not just his reflection, and from the way his shoulders slumped, you could see that he was trying to master up his courage, but didn’t know how. You didn’t want to push him either, so you sat there side by side, listening to the sound of the clock ticking on the wall.
You would have been more than happy with the silence because at least he was there, willing to show up and willing to apologise, but when he spoke up, you listened attentively, your heart sinking deeper and deeper as the monologue went on.
“After graduation, I got accepted at a dance academy in the US, but a week before I was supposed to leave, my mom got sick, and then they found a tumor. She needed surgery and a few months of recovery, and I’ve stayed with her, giving up on my dream. Since then, I’ve never even left the city because I’m afraid something might happen to her, and last week she got her monthly examination, and her results weren’t that promising.”
“And you were afraid that she might fall sick again,” you whispered, barely able to master those few words out after you had gotten to know such a personal part of his life. He had always seemed rather composed and passionate, someone who had been confident because he had never tasted failure. You couldn’t have been more wrong.
Dongheon nodded, his mahogany eyes bathing in the sea of uncertainty. You wished you could say something hopeful, but it wasn’t like his mother’s condition would suddenly get better if you prayed hard enough. You also wished you could feel confident enough to reach out and hold his hand to show that you were there for him, but you didn’t know how he would react to that despite that inward urge to share the burden and listen to whatever worries he had.
“It’s no use running tests now because the doctors say that it’s common to have worse results once in a while, but I guess I was worried history would repeat itself,” he mumbled loud enough for you to hear it yet not any louder. It was a confession only you should hear, no one else. It was your secret, the whispers of his heart and the tales of his present.
“I don’t blame you. I can’t even imagine what I would be feeling if I were in your shoes.” A cold shiver ran down your spine even just by thinking about. “You know you don’t have to come to class if you don’t feel well. Mentally or physically, it doesn’t matter.” you added gently, trying your best with an encouraging smile. Just because he was supposed to come to learn from you, you didn’t want him to feel pressured to be here each and every time until his boss would finally be satisfied with his improvement.
Dongheon shook his head, bitterness swallowing up his words as he continued.
“I’ve wanted to apologise to you and to that kid.”
“I’m sure he would understand.” You nodded fervently, knowing Kangmin well enough to assume that he would stay just as determined as before, if not more. That kid was one of the most dedicated dancers in his group.
“Thank you for telling me this,” you felt the need to add before any of your students would arrive, and when he finally looked at you and you exchanged a glance, there was a bit of a smile in the corner of his lips, and suddenly, that inward urge to be there for him elevated. You couldn’t pinpoint why, you didn’t know what was this sudden odd sensation going through your body, but you reciprocated his smile, and you looked away only when one of the kids arrived.
After you had talked about why Dongheon had suddenly left the class that time, you felt less cautious around him, and he also seemed a lot more loosened up around the kids. As expected, Kangmin didn’t hold a grudge against him, so Dongheon was good to go again, and you would have never taken it to heart that he had just rushed out of your class, especially after knowing the reason why. You felt like you could understand him a bit better, and you could feel his empathy, too. It was as if you could relate to what the other had gone through, and it was odd since you had never felt this way before. May it be because you had quite a special case with being dismissed from an entertainment company and finding your way to your current workplace and his dreams changing due to the circumstances, but that string that had kept on pulling you towards him had become more and more difficult to resist. Not to mention when he wanted to get to know you better.
“Why haven’t you applied for a different company?” Dongheon inquired the next time you met, posing you the question after the class had finished, and it was only you two left.
“I’ve spent my youth on training at that certain one. I was tired of life kicking into me,” you replied with a bitter smile, but you didn’t mind his question. You had a feeling that he would understand, and you wouldn’t need to elaborate further. You were right.
“Understandable.” He nodded firmly, and his serious state showed you that he really cared. Lately, you had had to realise that he was such a goofy, childish guy in general, his serious self resurfacing only when it was about something work-related which was dancing in your case, so you weren’t surprised that you could only see his most authentic sides when some time had passed by.
“Want to show me how you dance if you aren’t teaching kids?” Dongheon raised an eyebrow challengingly, dissolving the tension in the air with his question. You snickered, raising your eyebrows alongside his as if you were ready to fight him.
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking that? You’re a choreographer for idol trainees.”
“Well, if you are that curious…” He shrugged without hesitating a moment, but before he would get ready to dance, he turned to you and put his index-finger in the air. “But you have to show me what you got afterwards,” he made you promise with a cheeky smile, and you rolled your eyes, but nodded nevertheless. You were actually curious how he would dance apart from your rather easy choreographies made for children, plus it really wouldn’t make any difference if you showed him what you had been working on instead of practicing only by yourself.
You couldn’t tell what exactly you had been expecting, but the guy didn’t disappoint. His moves were fluid, he was perfectly in control of his body, and he made the choreography look so effortless. You could still see behind the seemingly easily executed movements, see the many hours of hard work and the physical strength he needed to use to do certain moves such as pushing himself off the ground or sliding on the floor ever so quickly. Your lips parted in awe as you watched him dance because he was so immersed, it was as if dancing was his second skin, and you adored watching others dance who had the same passion as you did.
Since you didn’t know when he would stop and turn back to you, but the song went on because he probably didn’t finish the last touches on the choreography, he caught you staring with your mouth slightly agape. Even if you wouldn’t deny that you thought that he was amazing, he needed to rub it in your face.
“Not bad, huh?” Dongheon quirked an eyebrow teasingly, and that smirk in the corner of his lips made you roll your eyes. A second later, he let out a wholehearted laughter, and you let him enjoy this moment as he retreated to sit on the bench with you, reaching for his water bottle. That’s when you were ready to let him know about your opinion on what you had seen.
“That was impressive. You could have joined an idol group with those skills,” you pointed out frankly, but he shook his head after he had taken a sip from the water.
“Ah, I’ve never known how to sing or rap, and I didn’t want to be in the spotlight.
“To be honest, I’m rather thankful now that things turned out this way. I’m not sure I would have kept on enjoying being in the spotlight after debuting, so I can understand,” you let him know solemnly. Maybe you had been heartbroken over how you had needed to leave your agency, but now you were a firm believer that everything happened for a reason. Sometimes we can only see what a certain event or a milestone in our life indicates until some time passes by.
You sat in silence for a bit while he was trying to catch his breath, but he didn’t forget about your deal, so he prompted you to dance. You didn’t need to be told twice, you set the chosen song on repeat on your laptop, and walked to the centre of the practice room, sitting down and getting into position before the first beat of the song would be played. Then, you gave your all to the rather feminine choreography, focusing on your reflection in the mirror instead of Dongheon’s face, focusing on how you and your body felt while you were becoming one with the music. The moves were well-practiced and the transitions were smooth, so your hopes of telling a story with the choreography were high. Yet, due to the fact that you enjoyed it so much, it seemed like such a short time until you finished, and turned back to the guy, curious about his feedback.
Dongheon blinked a few times before he could form an opinion, and that was enough of an answer for you, so your lips had already curled upwards before he spoke up. He could scarcely be flustered, so you were rather content that you could make him lose his confidence for a bit while watching you dance.
“That was impressive, too,” he concluded after he had cleared his throat. You kept on your knowing smile as you sat back beside him, pulling up the sleeves of your sweater, the sudden rush of heat warming up your body enough to feel a bit suffocated in your clothes. You didn’t even think much of it until you caught Dongheon staring at your arm. To be precise, the inked half-quote on your arm.
“Oh yeah. My soulmate quote. It says ‘love is a war, but…’. I guess I may get to know once how it ends.” You straightened your arm, so he could see the quote properly. You had never really given the words much thought because there could be endless ways the sentence could end, so there was no use guessing.
On the other hand, Dongheon seemed a bit bewitched for a moment, yet you didn’t know why. Some people were rather sentimental about the soulmate quotes, so you assumed he was one of those too, and that’s why he looked so perplexed, but then he blurted out:
“A war worth fighting for.”
“What?” You furrowed your eyebrows in question, not knowing what his words could indicate. Was he trying to guess the ending of your soulmate quote?
“Love is a war, but a war worth fighting for,” he spoke up loud and clear, and you didn’t even have time to dwell on his words because you could feel a tingling sensation on your arm. It was as if an invisible force was hovering over it, but it didn’t hurt, it felt a bit ticklish instead. It wasn’t an entirely unfamiliar feeling, but you had felt this way only once before; when the half-quote had appeared on your arm on your 14th birthday just like it had done for everyone. Which could mean only one thing...
The moment you looked down on your arm, your quote was finished. After the comma, ‘but a war worth fighting for’ was written as if it had always been there. You blinked in confusion, looking up at the guy who held up his arm for you to show that he had the same - now - full quote engraved into his skin. He seemed just as bewildered as you, but knowing that he was your soulmate could explain why he had seemed to understand you like no one else, and why you had wanted to be there for him to share his burden. Sure, soulmates could be best friends, siblings or lovers, but whatever their relationship might be, they were called soulmates for a reason, and knowing that he was yours was both oddly satisfying and scary. You had toyed with the idea of meeting your soulmate one day, but you had never quite imagined it to go this way.
You were both speechless for quite a bit afterwards, but then he nudged your shoulder, and said:
“Hey! At least, it’s not that awkward that your jaw dropped upon seeing a guy dance because I’m your soulmate after all.”
“I’m not the one who needed to visibly gulp after seeing my dance,” you retorted as you nudged his shoulder back, and you caught him with that, you could see it in the way his eyes widened. However, in the next moment, his lips curled upwards and he burst into laughter. You followed his example, and you let yourself enjoy this rather joyful moment. With him. With your soulmate.
What a turn of events.
After getting to know that you two were soulmates, not much changed. Neither of you were firm believers of forcing this soulmate thing onto your relationship, you let things flow as they would either way. Though one thing that the realisation helped to facilitate was opening up to the other, talking about your dreams and past scars after practices because you knew that you were soulmates for a reason, so you could share such personal matters, and after last time, you were more certain than ever that he would be able to empathise with you.
You enjoyed getting to know Dongheon better because there were so many sides to him, and the initial sulky one was just one of them, and now that you knew why he had acted the way he had done so, you couldn’t even blame him. He was such a jokester sometimes, you didn’t even get all of his jokes, but as more time went by, you became accustomed to his cheekiness. Not to mention that he got better and better at teaching kids, and you had a feeling that it was because he was still a bit like a child at heart, he merely needed to put aside his sternness when teaching the little ones. It also helped that his mother was doing okay again, so he didn’t need to worry about her previous worrying results.
No wonder his higher-ups noticed the change in his way of teaching, and you were both told that he wouldn’t need to come to your classes anymore because his so-called training had seemed to be effective. On top of that, he became busy watching over the soon-to-be debuting boygroup’s practices, so he couldn’t come by every time, but he still made an effort to show up from time to time, and the kids welcomed him affectionately each and every time. You sometimes met outside of practice rooms too, mostly eating or having something to drink after both of you were finished with work for the day, and soon enough, you found it easier and easier to believe that he was actually your soulmate. You two were close friends for a while afterwards, and occasionally you helped each other out with choreographies for your classes or for your own pleasure. Sharing the same passion for dance brought you two even closer, and when it was just the two of you dancing in practice rooms, you felt like your heart would burst out of your ribcage each time his fingers ghosted along your skin, and each time you felt like you breathed the same air with only a few centimetres between you two.
Soulmates didn’t have to be lovers; they could be siblings, they could be best friends or anything similar, but you felt the string between you pulling you two closer and closer figuratively and literally. You caught him when he almost fell on his butt on the ice outside of the dance studio you worked at, he pulled you back when you stepped onto the ground when the lights turned red, you helped him get into a taxi and get inside his flat when he knocked himself out after a drinking night, and he accidentally held onto your hand when you were watching a horror movie together (or at least, he said that it was accidental). All of those moments might have been coincidental, but you wouldn’t have minded if they had been for real.
Dongheon must have felt the same because once when he pulled you with him when you were running to catch your bus, he didn’t let go of your hands when you sat down in a love-seat. You looked at your intertwined hands, and when he caught you staring, he merely shrugged his shoulders.
“Does it bother you? I think it’s rather comfortable,” he remarked with a subtle smile, casting you a curious glance nevertheless.
“It doesn’t bother me. I like it,” you agreed with heat flushing to your cheeks, and you had to look away before he could see the blossoms of burgundy tinting your rather pale skin. You sucked in a few deep breaths before turning back to him, but when you did so, he was closer than ever, and you almost bumped your head into his.
“Really? I like it, too,” he said in a rather cheeky tone, and his eyes were so mesmerizing, you just couldn’t bear yourself to look away, so you kept staring into those dark orbs, those hidden universes, and you wished you could capture this very moment; him being so close to you, your heart beating alongside his, and his breath fanning over your skin.
Sure, it might have been less intimate if you had just kissed him right then and there, and he might have felt the same way because he didn’t seal your lips tight, he merely let a boyish grin stretch over his lips that didn’t fade away even as your bus ride came to an end. He didn’t forget about your earlier confessions, so when he walked you home with his hands still in yours, he hovered over you gently and slowly, and kissed you while smiling to himself. He knew you wouldn’t push him away, he knew you would kiss him back, but what could you do? You were already weak for him.
But that was okay. He was your soulmate after all, and you were willing to fight by his side no matter what it would take to protect this love.
Classmate Confession - Schoolboy!Dongheon
Warnings: none
Summary: The silent boy who found a place in your heart has turned out to be your secret admirer.
now playing . . . HOLD ON by KARD - Gunshot promos are over, Jseph is enlisting soon and I’m sad :((
^Dongheon after he confesses :”)
School was hard. The long days and classes that seemed to never end were too much.
Luckily for you though, it seemed as though you had a secret admirer who was going out of their way to brighten your days.
Every morning before class, you would find something new on your desk. The first time, it was a drink from the vending machine that you loved. Whoever had left it there must have been quite observant, because you’d usually grab that drink from the vending machine before class after placing your books on your desk.
This person was one step ahead of you.
Then, there would be snacks next to the drink. Always something new, but always something you loved.
You didn’t even need to have breakfast anymore, because the snacks and drink were filling enough.
You got teased quite a bit by your friends who tried to guess who it was.
“So when you find the snacks, who’s in the room with you?” one of your friends asked during lunch time.
“Well, it’s usually Dongheon and his friend:. Minchan, Gyehyeon, Yongseung, Kangmin, Hoyoung, Yeonho. They’re always early anyway because they have dance practice in the morning.”
Your friends’ eyes were all wide and their jaws dropped. You prepared yourself to be nudged and prodded by them as they teased you.
That’s exactly what they did.
“It has to be one of them!”
“They probably just use their dance practice as an excuse!”
“Wait,” one of your friends said, putting their milk carton down on the table. “Isn’t Dongheon... your crush? WHAT IF IT’S HIM?”
All of your friends resumed their wild squealing and pushing. Your face was reddened at the thought... Dongheon, your long time crush leaving snacks for you in the mornings? No, it couldn’t be him.
He’d been your crush for many years now, ever since middle school started. Yet he seemed to never pay much attention to you. He sat right behind you in class and always had his head down, nose in a book.
He was the teacher’s pet and always tried his best, and you admired his determination. His friends hated how much he nagged them to study with him, but you found it cute. You secretly wished he would study with you just once... but the one time that you were in a group project with him, he barely spoke a word and never met your eyes.
“It couldn’t be Dongheon... you all know he doesn’t care for me very much,” you explained.
“What if it’s Kangmin? He’s always watching you and he’s so cute...” your friend said, their eyelashes fluttering.
You were never able to figure it out and were too scared to ask Dongheon or his friends, so you just kindly accepted the snacks every morning.
One morning, you entered class and your desk was empty. It made you feel a little sad. Had your admirer given up?
With a sigh, you dropped your books on your desk and left class for the vending machine. Someone was standing in front of it, so you patiently waited until they were done.
When they turned around, they were holding your favourite drink in their hand.
“Dongheon?”
The boy’s eyes widened and he looked down.
“[y/n]? Why are you here so early?” he asked, scratching the back of his neck. He chewed his lip as he waited for your response.
“I always come at this time...” you mumbled. “Do you like that drink too?”
“Oh, this? Ah, I wanted to try it once. Do you want it? There’s no more in the vending machine,” he said. You politely refused, deciding that you would get something else, but he insisted.
“I’ll just get something else, it’s fine!” he said after handing you the drink and scurrying away to the vending machine. He seemed to be acting so awkward and tense today...
As you left for the classroom, he called out your name.
“Actually, [y/n], can we talk for a second?” he asked, a small smile on his face.
“Sure,” you said, confused.
He walked through the hallway in search of what you assumed to be an empty classroom, and you grew a bit nervous.
“Can’t you just tell me here?” you asked him. He turned around, his eyes roaming around your face.
“I’m a little embarrassed... well, there’s no one in our class yet since my friends are still practicing for the dance team. Should we just go back there?”
You nodded and walked back with him.
As soon as you walked in, Dongheon closed the door behind him and faced you.
You were leaning against the wall and he stood in front of a cupboard by the door.
“[y/n], actually... you know the stuff on your desk that’s there every morning?” he looked down, hesitating.
“Actually... that was... that was me. I put them there.”
It took you a second to process what Dongheon was saying. So it really had been him this entire time?
“I like you, [y/n]. I know this is a lot all at once and you barely even know me, but-”
“I like you too, Dongheon,” you said, cutting off the nervous boy’s rambling.
“You do?” he asked, confused.
“Yes, and it’s been years.”
The too of you stood there silently for a few moments, unsure of what to do next.
The door swung open and Dongheon’s friends walked in.
“Why are they staring at each other like that?” Kangmin asked, innocently.
“Dongheon probably confessed, you dummy,” Minchan said, ruffling his friend’s hair.
FLUSTERED
genre. fluff. highschool au. warnings. kangmin is whipped and in love he's so loser coded lil baby :( and he gets extremely shy. mention that reader wears lip gloss. pairing. kangmin x fem!reader. wc. 523. request. no. a/n. totally didn't write this just for @heavenfilm to see her die noooo def not 🤷♀️ i would never do smth like that 🧐 enjoy ur loser kangmin <333
Kangmin was quite sure his heart had just fallen out of his chest as he stood on the sidewalk, shoes glued to the pavement, mouth open ajar in shock. He had been walking you home after the soccer team practice ended which was already a hard enough task. Whenever he was around you, especially alone, his heart would thump rapidly in his chest and his breath would hitch just from the close contact. His massive crush on you did him no favours— he was a complete and under mess as soon as you so much as glanced at him.
He had tried to work on it, maybe even gather enough courage to confess his feelings to you with the help of Dongheon and Gyehyeon. But their advice made no sense, and they always seemed to contradict each other. Dongheon swore that he had to just take the shot and ask you out immediately, while Gyehyeon was convinced that he needed to drop subtle hints otherwise you would feel that it was too sudden.
In the end, Kangmin wasn’t able to do either.
He felt like such a loser, unable to even form words if you looked at him for too long. God forbid you smiled at him; he needed a good 10 minutes to recover from that. He was so incredibly whipped for you that he didn’t even mind the constant teasing from his friends about how lovesick he was. It was the truth, after all.
Everything had been going smoothly, and Kangmin was even proud of himself for being able to hold a smooth conversation with you on the walk home. Your laughter and smiles still made butterflies swarm in his stomach, but he didn’t let them distract him too much. He was confident that maybe he was even building up the courage to ask you out. That was, until you turned onto your street.
It was the last thing Kangmin could have ever expected— that instead of saying goodbye and going into your house like normal, you decided to bid him farewell in a different way.
A kiss. To his cheek.
You disappeared behind your front door before Kangmin even had time to process what had happened. The only thing his brain could do was replay what had just happened again and again. You turned around, smiled, and he was so sure you were about to say goodbye like usual, but instead you were stepping closer to him and going up on your tip-toes. And then your lips reached his cheek.
Your soft lips on his cheek.
If any of Kangmin’s friends saw him right now, they would be able to tease him for the rest of his life from just how red his face was. He tentatively touched his cheek right where you had kissed, as if to see if it had really happened or if he was just dreaming. It definitely was real, because he could feel the slight stain of your lip gloss; and that made it 100 times worse.
Kangmin was pretty sure it would take a little longer than just 10 minutes to recover from this.
bewitched | dark!dongheon x reader
Summary || Set in the VRVR universe, where you have been kidnapped by a man who looks eerily similar to your boyfriend...
Warnings || 16+ for kidnapping, minor language
Word Count || 1.8k
The dream you were having was wonderful and simple. You were with Dongheon, arms wrapped around each other as the two of you quietly swayed, enjoying a moment of peace. Alas, it was only a dream, and when you opened your eyes, you were met with the complete opposite.
The warmth of your blankets were gone, instead replaced with the chill of an unknown room. You slowly sat up from the red velvet couch - you don’t remember Dongheon or any of his friends owning such a piece of furniture. Looking around, none of this seemed familiar. It appeared to be some sort of garage or warehouse. There was a long dining table in the middle; the food and decor in disarray. Behind it was a wall of screens. Most of them were turned off or only displaying static, but one showed a brown room with 7 beds, and another monitored a circular table with 7 chairs.
Caught up in all the details, you nearly failed to observe the most crucial one – you were handcuffed. A chain was attached to the cuffs and bound to the leg of the chair. You shook your head as the adrenaline was finally kicking in. You were more so panicking because you couldn’t remember how you got here. Last thing you remember was falling asleep texting Dongheon!
Your head whipped around at the sound of metal screeching. A door opening and closing. You squinted to try and spot the figure in the darkness. The clacking of their heels echoed throughout the room, momentarily breaking through the ringing in your ears. They finally step into the light, and it was–
“Dongheon?” you furrowed your brows. But he looked… different. Dressed up. He wore a dark striped suit jacket with a small brooch pinned to his chest. Silver chains draped along his neck, contrasting from the black turtleneck underneath. Your eyes momentarily fell to the thin belt that snaked around his waist. It proved difficult for you to pull away, but you forced yourself to meet his gaze. Your breath caught in your throat upon realizing how close he had gotten to you, and you could spot the glitter subtly shimmering across his eyes. In conclusion… he looked good.
However, there was a voice in the back of your head, a gut feeling, telling you something was off. This… isn’t Dongheon. It was unlike him to be quiet for so long. But you couldn’t just stare at him all day (well, you could, but-), so you eventually found your voice. “Um… is this like, a new thing we’re trying out, or-?”
He finally chuckled. Yet, it wasn’t a friendly one. “He was right, you are amusing.” The first words to come out of his mouth, and it was rather backhanded. He dragged out a chair from the dining table nearby and took a seat in front of you. One leg rested over the other, and he leaned back as he crossed his arms. You shifted in your seat as his eyes bore into you; you could see the gears turning in his head as he simply observed you. Curiosity twinkled within.
“I don’t like to waste time,” he tilted his head up almost haughtily, “so, let’s get this done before your honey bear realizes you’re missing.”
You blinked feverishly. “Wait, hold on, so you’re not–?”
“Your Dongheon? Ha!” He laughed behind his hand, “No. Absolutely not… Well,” he removed his hand to reveal a chilling grin, “not yet, anyway. Almost there.” He sighed dramatically. “Only need a few more finishing touches. Although…” He rested a hand on his chest, “I’m a bit hurt to know he has never brought me up. After we’ve been through so much together…”
He paused in his rambling upon spotting your expression. “You look confused.” he hummed then leaned towards you from his chair. “Can’t fathom the thought of him withholding secrets from you?” He giggled.
“Wh-What?” You shook your head. “N… No, he wouldn’t! We… We tell each other everything. No matter how weird.” You huffed at him, “Like him having some evil twin. He’d… He’d tell me…” You trailed off, gaze falling as realization sinked in. Why would he hide something like this…? Unless it was for your safety, but even then–
“Oh,” he clicked his tongue, “you have such a pathetic look on your face. It’s almost cute.” He leaned back again. “Let’s make this quick, shall we? Just answer some questions for me, and you’ll be back in your bed full of plushies in no time.”
Heat burst onto your cheeks at his comment. Again, it felt backhanded. You swallowed hard then turned your head away. You felt a sudden shift in the air. “Ohh, he did say you’d be a stubborn one.” You had no chance to react as he swiftly grabbed your face and forced you to look at him. Your heart pounded against your chest. His eyes were nearly identical to Dongheon’s, but this man held a cold gaze, it sent shivers down your spine. “Let’s not play this game, (y/n)... But,” his lips curled into a smile, “I think I like this spark of defiance in you. You have such loyalty to your man…” His smile quickly dropped, “It almost makes me jealous.”
His grip loosened. “Fine. Answer one question for me, and I’ll leave you with a nice parting gift.”
“Taking your kidnapped person home doesn’t count.” You scowled at him. His smile returned. He even let out a short laugh, “No, no, I’ll leave an actual gift. A token of my appreciation for your cooperation.”
“I don’t care about your gifts–”
You were silenced as he waved around your phone. “You care an awful lot about him, don’t you? And you’re toying with forces way outside your control. One phone call to him, and he’ll come running to your rescue.” He then shrugged, “As for him making it out with you, well, that’s up to you.” He finally pulled back to sit on his chair. “I know you’re smarter than you’d like people to believe.”
You rubbed your sore cheeks from where he grabbed you. Damn, he really backed you into a corner. But he was right; you care too much about Dongheon to risk his life, let alone him risking it for your sake. You closed your eyes to take a deep breath and sigh. “Okay. Fine. Whatever.” You opened your eyes to glare at him. “What’s this one question?”
His smile briefly resurfaced at your compliance, only for it to be replaced with an unamused frown, “... Why do you trust him?” He asked. Your brow furrowed. It… honestly was not the type of question you were expecting. Then again, you weren’t sure why he was asking. He seemed to understand your confusion, so he elaborated, “Your Dongheon is so… him. Why in the world would you trust someone like him? Why would anyone?”
You almost felt offended by the question. You couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Really?? The real question is how could you not!” The imposter’s confused look almost made you burst into a fit of giggles, but you held back. You sighed. “I know he might not look like it, but he’s a good person. On the outside, people may see him as totally awkward or a goofball, but he’s hard working and wants the best for everyone.” You shook your head. “He wants to see everyone succeed, and he’s always willing to work around to find solutions.”
You fiddled with your hands. “He understands when to be goofy Dongheon and when to be serious, and it’s hard to hate him, in my opinion. Watching him work, you just can’t help but view him as trustworthy.” You ended your ramble and locked eyes with the imposter again. You… struggled to understand the emotion he was conveying. He was fighting back a scowl; his lips held together tightly in a thin line. Eventually, he parted them to quietly answer, “I see.”
He raised his head to deliver a smile. “Thank you, that was incredibly insightful.” He stood from his chair to walk behind you. “I enjoyed our little chat, if I’m being honest. I suppose I’ll keep you around…”
“Huh?” You whip your head to him, “I thought you said you’d leave us alone!”
His smile remained. “That wasn’t a part of our deal. What, you don’t want to see me again? How hurtful.” A sigh, “And after I went through all this effort for you.” He held his head up smugly, and for a brief second, you were reminded of your Dongheon. This whole ordeal was something you were still struggling to understand, but it appeared as if he wasn’t going to bring harm to you.
At least, not tonight, you hoped.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when he reached to grab your face and gently bring you closer to his own. You shuddered at his cold touch, and you could smell the cologne he wore- Dongheon’s cologne. “You’ll see me soon enough.” He hummed, “Doesn’t matter if it’s in your dreams or your nightmares…” He then chuckled softly, “Just watch, you’ll miss me, and then begin to wonder when you’ll see me again,” His voice lowered, “Just as I will with you.”
You were hardly given a chance to respond, for you suddenly felt your eyes grow heavy, and the world went dark.
Your phone buzzed violently from the nightstand. Your head shot up from the pillows as you squinted in the morning light. All you could do was groan as you groggily reached for your phone. You answered without even checking, “Hello?” you mumbled.
“(y/n)!” Dongheon sighed in relief. “I figured you passed out last night, but then you didn’t answer this morning. I was starting to get worried–”
“Hm?” You slowly sat up. “What time is it…?”
“Definitely not morning… It’s 2 pm.”
“Huh??” You checked the time on your phone. “Damn…” you whispered to yourself then brought the phone back to your ear. “Yeah, sorry, I didn’t realize how tired I was. And then like, I had the weirdest dream–” You paused in your words. Was it a dream?? It certainly felt… real.
“A weird dream, huh? Was I in it?” Dongheon joked.
“... Actually, yeah…” You slowly answered. He became quiet for a moment before letting out an awkward laugh. “Well, if you got enough rest, you okay with me bringing you brunch? We can talk about that weird dream.”
You felt your nerves begin to melt away. “Yeah,” you sighed, “yeah, I’d love that, actually.”
“Well, good, because I’m outside your door. Like, right now. Please open up, it’s hot outside…”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his antics. You quickly hung up and crawled out of bed to go greet him. But you couldn’t get rid of that strange feeling. The dream felt like it was fading away already; the image of Dongheon blurring in your mind. When you stood up, you spotted something glimmering from out of the corner of your eye. You curiously approached it, but your stomach sank as it came into view. With a trembling hand, you raised the exact same broach you saw on the imposter Dongheon in your “dream”.
His voice suddenly replayed in your head, like a ghostly whisper, “You’ll see me soon enough…”
Verivery reacts to being kissed in front of the other members!
A/N: I want to apologize to the anon who requested this for taking so long, sorry! I just like to take my time when it comes to reaction requests so they come out good ^^’ I hope the wait was worth it and that you like this one!
Dongheon was a really responsible leader, everyone knew this.
The two of you didn’t get in trouble when your relationship became public, his company had been understanding and his fans had been more than welcoming, adoring every single public interaction they managed to see between the two of you.
He wasn’t a huge fan of letting them see though. Dongheon wanted your relationship to be intimate despite how famous he was, he wanted to keep your love private in order to keep the intimacy and to be an example for the other members. The fact that the company allowed him to have a girlfriend didn’t mean he could show off about it every single chance he got, that’s what he thought.
You tried to respect his decision but sometimes little mistakes would be done. For example, right now, as all of you were gathered in the kitchen cooking tonight’s dinner, you had unconciously leaned foward and pecked his lips. He had been shocked but couldn’t bring himself to scold you when he saw your cute little smile. Damn, you knew how to make him weak.
“I’m sorry, I was just...It just happened” You apologized chuckling, scratching the back part of your neck, noticing how your cheeks started to turn pink when the rest of the members started teasing the two of you without any mercy.
“It’s okay” He said with a small, shy smile. Chuckling when his members only got louder as soon as his face started turning red too “No need to apologize” Dongheon leaned in and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek before he hurried into the dining room to shut everybody up.
Cuddled up on the couch as you watched some movies with the guys, you rested your head onto Hoyoung’s shoulder, bringing the blanket higher on your body to cover most of your bodies. You loved lazy days besides them, it was just so relaxing to do domestic things with your boyfriend and his friends that on their free days you always ended up spending more time in their dorm than in your own place.
“Are you cold?” He asked quietly, rubbing your side gently as he pulled you closer to him “Need another blanket?”
Hoyoung was just so sweet than you couldn’t hold the urge of kissing him back and before he could get shy and move away, you placed a small, short kiss onto his lips, giggling quietly since all the guys had been too focused on the movie to notice it.
“I’ll take that as a no” He muttered chuckling quietly, cheeks slightly pink as he pressed a small kiss to the side of your head before resting his against yours.
“”I didn’t know you were here!”
You couldn’t help but smile when you saw your boyfriend walking out of his room, finding you in his living room, chatting with his friends. Dongheon had told you he was napping when you showed up so you decided to wait and let him rest instead of waking him up, they were all exhausted due to their upcoming comeback and you were nobody to steal some of his resting minutes from him.
“Hey babe” Minchan stood in front of you, leaning down to kiss your lips as you greeted him, a small smirk on his lips since he knew you were slightly shy about doing this kind of things in front of the other guys.
“EWWW!!” Some of the shouted, just teasing the two of you.
However, Minchan wasn’t having it and he only sat down on your lap, stealing chuckles from your lips already “Ew, what? Wanna see it again?” He asked teasing them back, puckering his lips to give you another kiss.
You played along and returned the kiss, laughing when the members just started screaming in disgust even louder.
“Is that my hoodie?” Gyehyeon instantly ignored the conversation he was having with Minchan as soon as he saw you walk into the living room wearing his clothes. A shy smiles made it’s way up to your lips while you nodded at him, hands nervously fidgeting with the hem of the cloth.
“I was just feeling a little cold and I-”
Before you could keep explainning yourself, he leaned down and pressed a kiss against your lips, feeling a little shy since he wasn’t used to demostrate his affection when the members were still around.
All of them started cheering around you as soon as your lips met and you couldn’t help but laugh against Gyehyeon’s lips. However, your boyfriend, being the guy he was, soon pulled back and turned around to glare at them. The rest of the members shut up and ran away before he could hit them.
“Hey! Didn’t know you were coming over today, didn’t you have to study?”
You shook your head, walking into the dorms as you got rid of your jacket “The exam’s date has been changed so I can study tomorrow instead. I thought about coming over since I knew you guys had the day off” Not seeing any of the members around, you leaned closer and gave him a quick peck, stealing a cute smile from him.
“EW! GET A ROOM!” Somebody shouted from the kitchen, making the two of you laugh. They always did this whenever the two of you were affectionate with the other.
“Ew! GeT a RoOm!” Yeonho shouted back, laughing as he pecked your lips again “You guys are just jealous that I have a girlfriend to kiss!”
You knew he was shy and you also knew that if he could avoid doing any affectionate demostrations while the other members were around, he would avoid it. However, you hadn’t been able to hold back the urge to squish his cheeks and peck his lips when you had caught him doing some aegyo due for a punishment the guys had establish for a game they were playing.
All the guys started cheering loudly and even though you blushed, you ended up laughing, seeing they were only teasing the two of you.
“Shut up guys” Yongseung said quietly, quietly hiding his face against your neck, only making his friends get louder in order to tease him even more “Tell them to shut up” He muttered to you shyly, keeping his red face hidden behind your hair and against your soft neck.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. You had only leaned in to kiss him just because you thought the two of you were alone but right in the exact moment your lips met Kangmin’s, the dorm’s door slammed opened and most of the members witnessed the moment.
To say the two of you were embarrased was a total understatement. Your faces got ridiculously red as they all laughed and teased him, he was the maknae, so he was obviously going to be teased to death for this.
“That’s what you two do when we’re not around?” Yeonho teased smirking, making you get even redder.
“Yah! Shut up hyung!” Kangmin shouted, pushing them all inside the dorm so they would leave you alone once again.
͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ [i got good luck with you] ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
requested? yes, for anon!
verivery (separate & no kangmin) x fem!reader; headcanon format abt their kinks; mirror sex, thigh jobs, praise, worship, blindfolds, degradation, sex recording (consensual); voyeurism, size difference, impregnation/breeding, dacryphilia, oral fixation, manhandling, orgasm control, tights & skirt fixation; ig that's it
a/n: i am not going to explain myself abt this one. it just happened and yall gotta deal with it. enjoy i guess. also it's divided into 2 parts since it was getting too long kxdksd
LEE DONGHEON; manhandling, mirror sex, orgasm control !
oh, he loves the way your small hands hold his big arms as he’s practically tossing you around like a light plushie. and when he can see it all in a mirror? man is losing it. his mind often goes blank when your wrecked figure is laying on the bed, drooling and crying because he’s doing you so good. and as much as he loves making you so dumb on his dick, he also loves teasing you by stopping right when you were about to cum. and then, flashing you one of his cute smiles, he continues to toss you around the bed into the best position for the mirror to reflect.
no strength was left in your arms but it’s not even necessary, as dongheon is practically doing the whole job for you, picking you up, tossing you on the bed with enough care, like you’re just a little sack of lemons. your moans getting louder with every thrust he makes, suddenly stop falling past your lips. and it’s all because your one hell of a boyfriend pulled his dick out of you at the speed of fast. as you whine and wiggle your hips, you try to convince him to let you finally cum.
“baby, have you forgotten?” he says with that cheeky grin, staring into your eyes through the mirror’s reflection, and you do the same while whining all your pleas. a soft chuckle escaped dongheon’s lips. “that’s my girl.”
BAE HOYOUNG; tights, oral fixation, praise (giving) !
do not even try to go out on a date with him while wearing tights, unless you want to end up in his bed instead of a cafe. he takes his time with you, taking off every piece of your and his clothing, leaving only your tights on. his hands go up and down your legs, squeezing the plush of your body here and there. one time your ice cream melted and a few droplets fell on your finger; when hoyoung saw how your tongue swirls around the finger, he hasn’t been ok since. despite the ways you mess with his head, thoughts, body, and basically everything, he still loves you with all his might and he has to let you know how wonderful you are.
“so beautiful, so gorgeous, so- mmm,” kissing his way from your ankle to your thighs, hoyoung is blabbering things that first come to his mind. and since these are only praises of your beauty… it’s another story. nibbling on your sensitive thighs right above the hem of your tights, he roams with his hands around your legs, still not able to get enough of them. “god, you’re so- mes- merizing. i- there’s not enough words to describe how i feel about you, darling.”
your answer is simple; it’s a quiet hum mixed with a whine while squirming around under his touch. that’s when hoyoung gets up and starts to hover over you, hand on your cheek and his thumb caressing your lips. you know what that means, so you do exactly what he wants; you part your lips and let his thumb inside your mouth. as you start sucking on it, twirling your tongue around it skillfully, he almost loses it immediately.
“ah, fuck- you’re gonna kill me someday with that divine beauty of yours.
HONG MINCHAN; size difference, impregnation/breeding, dacryphilia !
he finds it cute when you gasp quietly when he gets the stuff from the highest shelves with ease, so close to you, one of his big hands around your waist, his chest right by your back. the way you squirm and whimper quietly when he’s cuddling with you, all that overwhelming size difference is really turning him on. oh, how much he’d love to see the even smaller versions of you!!! that is why he always finishes inside. and bonus points if you start crying from the overbearing pleasure.
cries, moans, and some blabbering slip past your lips when minchan finally pushes himself all the way inside you. a little break for a lot of reassuring and full of love kisses, and as you relax, he starts moving. slowly, with the last bits of self-control, to not hurt you, he moves in sync with your hips rolling.
“do you wanna be a mama?” minchan asks, feeling the familiar sensation in his lower parts and placing kisses all over your neck, watching your beautiful face.
“yes- yes! make- me- a mama- ah!”
holy moly, he wasn’t expecting such pleas, but who is he to disobey? and to disobey YOU, his little darling, crying so prettily over the stretch his dick caused. with a smile, another series of kisses, and a finishing roll of his hips, minchan shoot his load almost right into your womb.
a/n: was requested by an anon to do a dongheon smut, so here it is ! hope y’all enjoy ~
how you got in this situation with your best friend was still unclear to you. it started off like any other night: a midnight stroll through the park connecting your apartments, talking about nothing and everything all at the same time. but now you were both deep between trees, hidden behind tall, thick bushes with his cock buried deep inside of you. you never imagined your first time with dongheon to be like this, let alone even imagine being with him in this sense at all.
it started off when you were catching up like usual, except the only difference being not having seen each other for the past month due to him being on summer vacation with his family overseas. him engulfing you into a hug felt different, more loving and intimate than it normally did but you pushed it aside assuming you were overthinking things yet again.
“so how was it?” you asked him as you walked side by side, glancing over at him and getting shy when you noticed him already staring at you with a smug smile on his lips.
“so how was it?” you asked him as you walked side by side, glancing over at him and getting shy when you noticed him already staring at you with a smug smile on his lips.
he shrugged as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants. “it was fun, i guess. we got to visit disneyland while we were there a couple of times so i felt like a kid again.”
you nodded, noticing an ever so slight twinkle in his eyes at the remembrance of his small summer getaway with his family. “that sounds really fun, actually. did you tell goofy i said hi?”
he let out a chuckle, his warming smile appearing at your small tease. “you can tell him yourself when we go together next time.”
you raise a brow at him, cocking your head to the side. “and what do you mean by that?”
you and dongheon always said you wanted to travel together after you both finished college. matter of fact, you even had a small list of places you always wanted to visit together. there was france, germany, brazil, and so many other places. sometimes he’d send you tiktoks or instagram reels of one of those traveling influencers and ask to add it to your list of places to go see together, which you always ended up happily obliging to because of how scenic everything came across.
it was his turn to cock his head to you, almost in a mocking manner. he grabbed your hand, making you both stop in your tracks by the bright orange slide collecting nightly dust. “why don’t we visit during our winter break between semesters? like, as a small christmas trip. i think we’ve both accumulated enough money to be able to afford at least a week or so trip together.”
you looked up in thought, noticing the stars as you did so. the crescent moon illuminated both of you, almost as if it were a spotlight shining down onto two thespians. in that moment, you both looked like two young idiots in love with one another. the way dongheon’s admiration for you spilled through in the way he watched you intently as you regained your thoughts, to the way your body seemed to melt under such a simple touch such as his fingers intertwining with yours. it was something out of a young adult romance novel turned into a sappy teen movie, but to you two it seemed nothing of the sort. to you it seemed like someone who was standing in front of their best friend trying to act as calm as possible as their heart raced under the touch they craved for the past month. to dongheon he hoped he was masking his want for you as well as possible, because truth be told being without you for the past month drove him up a wall.
sure, you both had been best friends for several years and of course spent even more than a month apart at some points. but around six months ago he started to feel something different towards you- something less platonic and more romantic. instead of feeling more calm around you, he felt more love struck and anxious. whenever you had study sessions for class or even hung out, his heartbeat would quicken its pace at just the sight of you. whether you were in sweats with messy hair or dressed up in everyday attire, he would feel himself staring at you admiringly with a hint of confusion racking his brain. why was he suddenly feeling this? and why now? sometimes all he wanted to do was to confess to you, to tell you everything hes been feeling. to kiss you and never let go- but his fear of ruining a perfect friendship always overshadowed any ounce of confidence he had when it came to potentially confessing to you his true emotions.
but for you, you had been feeling this way for two years. you had tried dating recently to attempt to move on, but none of it worked. the longest relationship you’ve obtained within the past few years only lasted around three months; it would’ve been longer but you felt bad dating someone knowing damn well you weren’t able to reciprocate those feelings. since then, you haven’t been able to date or even look at anyone the same way you look at your best friend. you wanted to tell him, but the same as dongheon, you couldn’t bring yourself to tell him due to the overwhelming anxiety of not having him feel the same and ruining something so perfect. whenever he fell asleep with his head in your lap, all you wanted to do with pecker his face with small kisses and whisper sweet nothings into his ear as he dreamt of, hopefully, you. but you couldn’t and wouldn’t do that, because you were just friends and friends didn’t do that type of stuff, right?
“if i pick up a few extra hours within these next few months we can afford maybe two weeks!” you exclaim, your smile widening at the realization.
this made dongheon’s heart do flips, seeing you so happy and excited. your smile was his favorite thing in the entire universe- he could stare at it all day. “you’re so beautiful.” he mumbled, rubbing small circles on the back of your hand.
the heat in your cheeks rose, your smiling turning bright and cheery into a small, shy one. the atmosphere changed quickly, from a lighthearted one to- well, you couldn’t place your finger on it. “says you.” you replied, looking down to his lips for a quick second before staring into his eyes once again. you attempted to be quick and smooth about it, but he caught that.
“hey, i saw that.” he teased, a playful smile on his lips.
your heart rate fastened, making all types of profanities fill your head. “i don’t know what you mean.” you shrug your shoulders, looking down to avoid the embarrassment peaking through your stare.
but it wasn’t for long since he took his middle finger and placed it under your chin, making you stare up at him. his sudden burst of confidence overwhelmed him in the best way possible, but he was unsure of where it came from. “you looked at my lips, did you not?”
another shrug of your shoulders. you weren’t sure what to say or how to react. your best friend, your crush, and his lips were only a few inches from yours and all you wanted to do was taste them. you wondered if he still used that pineapple lip balm you bought him last year as a small gag gift, imagining if his lips actually tasted like that. fighting the urge to stare at his lips again, you caught him looking down at yours as well. his usual loving eyes seemed to be replaced with dark, lustful ones. but you didn’t know that because you were unable to read them- denial overshadowing the fact that dongheon was indeed interested in you the same way you were interested in him.
his face moved closer, lips barely brushing against one another before moving his face towards your ear to whisper into it. “being gone from you for so long was so torturous. all i could do was think of you at every second; it drove me crazy.” he placed a small kiss behind your ear, sending shivers down your spine. “do you want me the same way i want you?”
you swallowed hard, biting down on your lip before nodding slowly to his question. a small nibble to your earlobe made a small sigh leave your lips, your thoughts jumbling all together at once. subconsciously, you moved your hand to the back of his neck and made him look at you. “we’re in public, anyone can see us if they just walk down the street.”
with one swift motion, he picked you up in his arms bridal style causing a few giggles to erupt from within you. he smiled happily at the sound and the movement of your arms wrapping around his neck to ensure your safety. you laid your head against his chest, hearing his rapid heartbeat. “damn, your heart’s beating fast.”
he carried his feet towards the trees and bushes, looking around to make sure no one was watching. when he realized you two were the only ones in the park, he shuffled over a bit deeper into the trees and set you down on your feet. you watched as he threw his jean jacket off and laid it down on top of a patch of growing dandelions, laughing at his attempt to be considerate of your comfort.
before you knew it, he turned back to you and picked you up by your thighs. you automatically wrapped your arms around his neck and let your fingers play with his hair strands. dongheon crashed his lips onto yours hungrily, his tongue grazing your bottom lip right away as he carefully placed you on your back on top of his jacket. you tugged on his bottom lip with your teeth, earning a soft moan of his to vibrate against your lips. teasingly, you rocked your hips against your best friends to feel him start getting hard. yet another moan from the man as he pulled away from you, both of your breathing’s unstable.
“you drive me fucking crazy, you know that?” he whispered as he placed sloppy kisses down your neck, causing small purple marks to appear across your skin. “every day that i was gone, all i wanted was to come back to you.”
tiny whimpers escaped your mouth, the music of it ringing through dongheon’s ears and into the night. you tried to keep as quiet as you could, not wanting to draw any attention to what you both were doing. “if you missed me, then show me.” you breathed out, tugging on the strands of hair of his you had between your fingers.
his head shot up to look at you, a smirk evident on his face. dongheon’s hands moved from your thighs to your waist, pulling down your jeans and eyeing the pretty underwear that you wore. he looked up at you for confirmation that he could pull them down, doing so as you nodded in agreement. the wet patch that had formed on your underwear caused butterflies to erupt within the pit of his stomach, all because he knew he was able to do the same thing to you that you did to him.
you watched as he moved his face down towards your entrance, worry taking over your body for a split second. “dongheon, we don’t have time for that. i don’t want us getting cau-“
he shook his head as he cut you off. “i’m not going in dry, no matter how wet you are for me already.” his ring and middle finger circled around your entrance, wanting to pick up as many juices as possible before doing what he had to do. “i want to make sure you’re comfortable, baby.”
your heart skipped a beat as he called you that, never have heard him call you that in such a tone that wasn’t teasing or playful. the new name felt good- it was your new favorite. you sighed deeply as he continued to tease you, gasping once you felt him slip his two fingers into you. you watched as he started to pick up the pace and bring your folds between his lips, sucking gently as to not make you uncomfortable. as you tugged on his hair at the feeling of being stretched out, you threw your head back as you tugged on his hair and let out soft moans that only you and himself could hear. the sounds you released combined with the hair pulling and feeling of you clenching around only two of his fingers made him groan as well, making you only moan a bit louder and more frequently at the vibrations it sent through you. subconsciously, your legs on his shoulders squeezed the side of his head but dongheon could care less. the only thing he cared about was making you feel good and to enjoy this moment with you.
“f-fuck..” you stuttered, bucking your hips into the air. but dongheon brought his hand to it and pushed it back down, holding you still as you wiggled close to your climax.
his fingers pumped into you faster, making you squeal in pleasure as you clenched around his fingers. he pulled his plump lips from your pussy, staring up to watch you come undone under his touch. “if you’re enjoying me this much with just my fingers, i can’t even imagine what my cock would do to you.” he mumbles.
as those words left his mouth, they were all you needed to release onto his fingers. he watched you intently as you leaned back onto your elbows, your mouth letting out small profanities and twitching under his control. he smirked to himself, continuing to finger you through your high. when he felt like you’ve had enough, he pulled them out and leaned over to grab your face with his free hand, forcing you to look at him as he licked your juices off his fingers. you watched with you bit down on your bottom lip, enjoying the sight the minimal moonlight provided you with.
your lust-filled clouded eyes stared at him as he twirled his tongue around, enjoying every last drop that remained on his hand. not being able to handle it, you grabbed the collar of his tee shirt and pulled his lips to yours to get a taste for yourself. your lips synched together automatically, moving in waves that tasted like bliss. as you hungrily tasted yourself, dongheon pulled down his sweats to his ankles. this is all he’s been wanting for the past six months, maybe even longer if he was willing to admit it. all he’s been wanting is you- to be with you. and, finally, he is. and in the way he wants to be.
you pulled away, breathing unstable as you rested your forehead against his. you glanced down to notice him pulling his member out of his boxer briefs, eyes widening at how thick he is. you always imagined him to be somewhat big, at least a bit more than average, but for him to be that thick intimidated you a bit. but you were never one to back down at a challenge, let alone one you’ve been wanting to conquer for so long. you felt his one hand rub your pussy, grabbing as much of your release on his hand as possible to coat his dick before sliding it into you.
pulling away to see a full view of your face, dongheon spoke up as he lined himself at your entrance. “are you sure you want to do this? i don’t want you to feel like-“
“i’ve been waiting two years for this,” you confessed, not breaking eye contact once. “i’m more than ready.”
he nodded, placing a small kiss on your lips before slowly inserting himself into you. you gasp at the feeling of your best friend stretching you out, throwing your head into the crook of his shoulder and biting down on his clothes collar bone. he bites down on his lower lip as he inserts himself further, letting out low moans into your ear.
“fuck, heon, you feel so good.” you mumbled into his shoulder, bringing your hands from his neck to his back. you slithered your hands under his shirt, feeling his toned back as you ran your hands up it and dug your nails into it.
dongheon let out another moan, not caring who heard at this point. hearing you call him that in this type of manner drove him up a wall- this is something he’s only ever had wet dreams about. but it was finally coming true, and you scratching his back was all the confirmation he needed from the slight pleasurable pain he felt from your actions. as he inserted himself fully into you, he moved very slowly as to give you time to adjust. he could tell you’ve never experienced someone his size before, and knowing this brought a devious smirk to his face. you noticed his smirk as you glanced up at him, placing a few kisses along his jawline and moving to his neck.
once you felt you become more comfortable under his touch, he started to move a bit faster. all the confirmation he needed was the sound of his name falling from your lips, causing vibrations to circuit through his entire body as your lips sucked deep purple marks into him. as you clenched around him, he let out deep moans of your name that made your mind hazy. the way your walls engulfed him made his heart race in more ways than one.
“fuck, baby.” he groaned, the pleasure you were providing him drawing him close. but he didn’t want to cum just yet, he wanted to draw it out as long as he possibly could. he wanted this moment to last for as long as possible, forever if it were possible. “it’s like your pussy was made for me.”
your nails dug deeper into him, scratching at his back knowing damn well it was going to leave a mark and possibly hurt the next morning. but you didn’t care, not in the slightest. and neither did he; if anything he wanted it to be that way. you clenched around him as he drilled into you faster, making your moans come out louder and higher in pitch. neither of you cared who heard of your actions, because in this moment all that mattered was being entangled in one another. all that mattered was this moment.
“i-i’m so close.” you muttered between choked out whimpers, pulling your head back to look into his eyes fully. when he looked up, you felt a rush of emotions come forth. all the love and care you felt for him rushed to you, making you clench around him yet again.
“me too, let’s cum together.” he responds, cupping your cheek in his hand as he rammed harder into you.
the sounds of both of your moans and juices filled the air in harmony. with one final clench, you felt yourself orgasm for the second time that night. not long after, dongheon did as well. his warm release covered your walls, causing tiny whimpers to be heard from you. the sound made his heart race quicken yet again, despite his breathing regulating along with yours.
minutes passed with you engulfed in his arms as he was becoming soft inside of you, up until realization hit him and he pulled out of you and quickly pulling up his boxers. realization hit you as well when you remembered where you both were, rushing to pull up your underwear and jeans. once you stood to your feet, you grabbed onto your best friend's shoulder for balance. he watched at you attempted to pull up your pants, laughing as you noticed how weak you seemed to be after the activity you both took part in. glaring at him, you fully stood on your two feet and smacked his arm lightly.
“don’t laugh, you did this!” you joked, holding back some laughter yourself. he rubbed his arm where you hit him, going along with the joke.
“two years, huh?” he asked, smiling happily at you.
your cheeks heated up, nodding shyly. “maybe.”
he took your hand in his, his smile never fading. “come on, let’s get to my apartment so we can properly wash up.”
you nodded, intertwining your fingers together as you walked towards the direction of his small studio. comfortable silence filled the air as you walked across the park, getting shy whenever someone would run or walk past you both.
“so-“ you both said at the same time, looking at one another as you heard each other’s voice at the same time.
you both shared laughter, staring at each other in admiration before dongheon spoke up. “you go first, baby.”
heart fluttering, your smile grew even wider. wider than you had thought possible. “what does this mean for us?”
he shrugged, looking forward to check for cars before jogging across the street with you by his side. “we can go on a proper date tomorrow, if you’d like?”
the right one
You don’t have a plus one for the prom-themed uni party you’re organising as a member of the student council, but Dongheon sets you up with Hoyoung who might actually become more than just a stranger who saves you from boredom during that night.
➳ Characters: uni student!Hoyoung x uni student!reader/you
➳ Genre: fluff, comedy, university au
➳ Words: 6.3k
➳ Warning: -
➳ Taglist: @dat-town
➳ A/N: I don’t know about you, but Hoyoung radiates warmth and comfort to me, so here’s a really cute and comforting story for you all. I hope it brings you some joy. ❤️
Sometimes, you wish for nothing more than to just lie down, close your eyes and rest for about a few days before any duty calls you ever again. Obviously, you can’t do that when you’re in finals week, and you’re also in the last stage of the university party preparation that you - alongside the other student council members - would want to make as enjoyable as possible.
Thankfully, the head of the student council - Lee Dongheon - is as prompt as always, and as the Leadership and Management master student as he is, he manages the preparation to the best of his ability. That doesn’t mean that everything goes as smoothly as you’ve wanted to, starting from the fact that you had to go buy half of the decorations in person a day before because the party props company can’t deliver in time due to high demand, not to mention the DJ you’ve invited falling ill and having to find someone to take his place a few days ago and some other, mild mishaps along the way.
After a poll that you’ve sent out to all students, it was decided that the student council would organise a prom-themed party, so it would be a more formal event which students can dress up for, come together with their significant order or just enjoy themselves with their friends as their requested song is being played by the DJ.
Though for that to happen, you really need to be done with the decorations as fast as possible, so you should probably stop overcatastrophising everything and finally put on that garland that you’ve been holding in your hand for the past few minutes.
“Hey! Need some help with that?” As expected, Dongheon is right there in a second with a small ladder in one hand, pointing at the decoration in your hand.
“Oh, thanks. I think I’ll manage. I was just waiting for you to finish with that side, so that I could have the ladder.”
“Oh yeah, sure. Don’t want a petite girl to suffer without a ladder,” Dongheon teases like the jokester he is, but you can’t be mad at him even if you hold your hand up as if you were about to hit him in the shoulder.
“Not everyone is as much of a giant as you are,” you counter-attack, a light laugh escaping your lips as you two exchange a glance before Dongheon sets up the ladder, putting it close to the wall, so that you would have an easier time assembling the decoration.
“So, do you already have your plus one for the prom?” The head of the student council asks casually as he’s holding the ladder, so that it would stay secure while you’re standing on it.
“No. I don’t have a boyfriend,” you answer nonchalantly as you attach a set of garlands to the wall. You turn back to look at him, motioning to him to hold up another set of garlands for you, but he’s too busy whining.
“Oh, come on! You’ve really organised this whole party just for others to enjoy?”
“I’ll go with my friends, that’s fine,” you reassure him firmly because you really don’t mind not having a plus one even though Yerin would go with Minchan and Hari would probably leave your side 5 seconds into arrival because she’s on a lookout for hot single guys on campus. That’s fine though; you’ve organised this whole prom-themed party with couples and singles in mind, so you can just sip on your punch by the corner and monitor if everything’s going fine.
“Now, the garlands,” you emphasise, and Dongheon lets out a semi-exaggerated sigh before reaching into the nearby box and giving you another set of garlands while you’re moving with the ladder alongside the wall.
You - very wrongly - assume that he will just let it slide, but about a paper lantern and a star-shaped decoration later, he suddenly speaks up.
“I’ll get you a plus one. You’re in your second year, right?” He asks even though Dongheon knows such information about everyone in the student council like the back of his hand. He even knows your birthdays which is pretty nice of him because he always gets something small for everyone. On the flipside, when he’s upset or dissatisfied with something, no one dares to speak to him because he’s like a ticking time bomb. Though he’s nice most of the time, so it’s not that big of a deal (and he’s definitely not as scary as rumours make him out to be).
“Yeah.”
“Good. I have a friend in second year who probably doesn’t have a date either. He’s always too busy taking care of others instead of himself,” he chatters with a reprimanding edge to his tone as if it was something horrendous.
“Sounds a lot like you.”
“Hey! You don’t want to see the currently dying plants in my room, okay?” Dongheon replies in a semi-serious state, but you both find yourself smiling afterwards. You turn back to the wall to attach a paper heart and as you do so, you blurt out:
“You don’t have to do that though. I’m fine without a guy.”
“Weeell, but I’ve really wanted to set him up for some time, and he’s a great guy, I promise,” he mentions, and it’s like he’s justifying himself already, and he’s so dramatic about it - all puppy eyes and pouts and a disheartened tone - as if his life depended on it. Knowing him, he probably does have sleepless nights over not being able to set up one of his friends with anyone.
“Fiiiine,” you say and let out a long sigh, getting off the leader in the meantime. As you reach the ground, you turn to face the now-grinning Dongheon. “But only if he wants to do it himself.”
“He’s dying to come, I can confirm.”
And so that’s a deal. Two days before the actual prom, Dongheon gives you the guy’s number, so that you could message each other and find each other on the day of the party, but little do you know, that night turns out way more different than you would have imagined.
When the results of the poll came back, and it turned out that most students voted for a prom-themed uni party at the end of the spring semester, you didn’t think much of it. Yet, as you’re looking down at your plain dress and your flat-heeled shoes because there’s no way you would spend hours in high heels, you feel a bit out of place. This party doesn’t seem like somewhere you belong, and you start to get extra anxious as you’re waiting for your plus one by the noticeboard in the hallway (a convenient place to meet up because probably nobody waits here other than you).
Dongheon has told you that his friend - Bae Hoyoung - is a really nice guy, he’s kind and considerate and very loving towards his younger friends, so he thinks you couldn’t have ended up with a better plus one. You don’t know how much of it is exaggeration when he claims that Hoyoung is a real gentleman and a handsome one on top of that because Dongheon likes to exaggerate, but you let him be.
No matter how cool his friend is based on the texts you exchange before the party, you start to question why you’ve decided to give in even though your friends were so happy to hear that you were about to meet a boy. Though the chances were very low that you would end up keeping in touch with your plus one after the event because you’ve never been lucky with boys, so why would he be an exception?
No wonder you find yourself nibbling on your lower lip as you’re waiting for Hoyoung, both anxious and restless, but when he walks up to you in a gorgeous suit and casual Converse sneakers (they at least match the black and white colour of his pants and shirt), you become a bit speechless. Surely, you have seen his profile picture on Kakaotalk, but that doesn’t do justice to how tall he is in real life, and you certainly didn’t notice the cute moles dotting his face on that picture as opposed to now. Even his smile is light like a feather, and the way the wrinkles around his eyes deepen when he’s smiling makes your heart take a silly little turn.
“Hey!” He greets you in a friendly manner, coming to a halt beside you. He’s towering above you a bit, but it’s not in an intimidating way, so you don’t feel uncomfortable.
“Hi!” You greet him back, feeling a bit silly over checking him out from head to toe a moment ago. What can you do though? His profile picture isn’t a full-body one. In fact, half of the picture isn’t even him but a white furball, probably his dog, so you could only see his face in the photo.
“Sorry about the shoes. I forgot that I don’t have dress shoes with me in the dorms,” he apologises immediately as he’s looking down at his pair of Converse.
“Oh, it’s totally fine. Don’t worry about it! It’s not like I dressed up as if I came to a real prom.”
“You look pretty,” he blurts out casually, but your lips part in bewilderment because you didn’t see such a comment coming so soon, and you need to remind yourself to function properly. You end up mumbling something akin to a thanks, and prompt you two to step inside the gym hall where the party takes place.
It turns out that the gym hall is packed with people, so much that you feel like you step on someone’s shoes every second as you’re trying to get closer to the centre of it with Hoyoung by your side. Which is great because it means you didn’t work for nothing, but it also means that you have a hard time finding any spot where you can dance without worrying about bumping into someone’s back or chest, and even when you do, it’s almost impossible to keep up a conversation because the music is so loud.
You dance for a bit though without saying a word, but it gets a bit awkward just smiling at each other and trying to move left and right without smacking someone, and you can feel that Hoyoung is thinking the same. You didn’t really come here just to dance, you aren’t even that good at it, but it’s impossible to do anything else because of the loud music.
“Don’t you want to-” You start saying, leaning closer to him, so that he could hear what you say, and he’s doing the same, so your faces are only inches apart. You blink rapidly, gulping down the nervous knot in your throat, trying not to pay too much attention to his beautiful, warm orbs that remind you of fall: of colourful leaves creating a carpet under your feet, of a cup of warm tea on a chilly night, of the smell of summer parting and a new season coming up and the bittersweet feeling of the cycle of nature moving forwards.
Your breath hitches in your throat for a moment because he does have beautiful eyes, and it’s hard to look away because they are like a magnet, but you’re saved by the boy’s question, his hot breath fanning over your neck as he’s leaning towards your ear.
“Should we go outside?” He asks with a raised voice, trying to speak over the volume of the currently blasted song.
You nod immediately, then turn around to leave the dance floor. As you’re doing so, you check back from time to time to see if Hoyoung’s still following you and you haven’t lost him in the meantime, and the third time you do so, you end up colliding with someone. You and the stranger both apologise, so you can move on, but you feel Hoyoung’s fingers over your wrist, giving it a slight pressure, his eyes asking if you’re okay when you look at him.
You try to reassure him with a bob of your head and a friendly smile, and thankfully, there are no further mishaps as you’re making your way outside of the hall. You just get to the corridor when you catch sight of Dongheon checking something on his phone while walking towards the doors of the gym hall. He only looks up when Hoyoung says hi, but when he does, boy, he’s grinning.
“Hey, you two! Is everything alright?”
“Apart from the music causing us ear damage?” Hoyoung replies immediately, his tone semi-playful. Dongheon’s smile falters a bit but only a tiny bit.
“Oh no! I’ve told the dude to keep the volume at a decent level,” he shakes his head in disapproval, and you can already foresee the master student’s first to-do when he gets inside the gym hall. “Anyways, where are you going?” He quirks an eyebrow, curious, and it’s you this time who answers him.
“Just somewhere where we can talk, I guess?” You say, a bit uncertain, sending a side-glance in Hoyoung’s direction who reassuringly smiles back at you. You immediately find yourself mirroring his action, and it may be because of this or the fact that you two are leaving the main party to have a conversation, but the head of the student council is more than delighted either way.
“Ooooh, you’re talking now!” He wiggles his eyebrows at you as if it could mean anything. “That’s great! Well, have fun!” He wishes with a wide grin, and as he’s walking past you two, he pats Hoyoung’s shoulder. You furrow your eyebrows, look at the boy beside you, and giggle when you see his reaction.
“He’s just weird,” he mentions as if that could explain anything, but even his lips curl upwards. Considering how Dongheon has said that he has wanted to set up his friend with someone for a long time now, you can guess why he might be like an excited parent who sends his kids off to school, realising how much they’ve grown up, but you try to tell yourself that it’s nothing like that. You would just merely prefer talking somewhere quiet instead of being smacked every second by someone around you and completely not hearing the other because the DJ is too loud.
“Soooo… should we walk in the park beside campus or…” Your voice trails off by the end, and you expectantly look at the pitch-black haired boy beside you, hoping that he might help you out.
“Yeah, that’s a good idea.” He nods, smiling, and it’s really adorable how his eyes become little crescents when he does so, his dimples deepening. You’ve always had a thing for dimples, and you can’t help but smile widely at him when his dimples literally pop out. You need to remind yourself not to stare too much at him, so you focus on your steps instead, looking ahead of you as you’re making your way to the nearby park.
The park which you’ve agreed on is only a few-minute walk from the main building of your campus, and given the later hour and the fact that the students who want to be at school right now are in the gym hall, not a lot of people roam around in the park. While it’s not prohibited for non-students to enter it, the majority of people are still students. No wonder why because it’s such a picturesque sight with the little lake in the middle of it with some ducks, the colourfully painted benches and the vividly green grass where groups can have lovely picnics in the shade of the magnificent oak trees.
“I love coming here, especially during exam season. It seems like such a different world from campus even though it’s so close. It’s good to clear your mind sometimes like this,” Hoyoung muses out loud, and you don’t even think twice before you say:
“Exactly! I totally feel the same way,” you mention enthusiastically, and you immediately feel so silly for sounding so pumped up even though the boy beside you is nothing but kind. He might look intimidating to others with his elegantly parted, pitch-black hair, the sharpness of his jawline and his mature features, but when he smiles, his whole face lights up, and his voice is full of life when he speaks.
“So Dongheon has said that you two work together in the student council.”
“Oh yeah. We know each other from there,” you bob your head, remembering back to the first time you met him, and how he has helped you with a lot of academic-stuff, especially when you just joined the council in your first year. “I’ve thought that he’s a really strict and stern guy, but it couldn’t have been further from the truth,” you admit with a little giggle that the boy simply mirrors.
“I can see why. Even when he has his neutral face, he looks a bit intimidating, but really, he’s just a big baby. Sometimes I feel like I’m the older one out of the two of us,” Hoyoung laughs a joyous laughter, and you join him, letting the early summer night carry the sound of your laughter around the park.
You let silence cover you for some time, but it’s not embarrassing or awkward. It’s more than comforting, actually. Yet, now that you’ve brought up Dongheon who has actually set you two up, you can’t help but ask:
“Why is he so obsessed with setting you up?”
“That’s a good question.” Hoyoung chuckles. “He’s just like ‘oh, Hoyoung, dude, you deserve a girl, I’ll get you one’ because he thinks I spend too much time helping others when in fact I think I just do things because they are the bare minimum?” He mimics Dongheon’s tone and it’s so hilarious, you laugh out loud. Then, he goes on to explain that it might be because he’s learned how to help others because he has 5 siblings, so he knows the importance of assisting others without being directly asked to. It makes sense, but at the same time, you’re truly in awe, and you’re sure that he’s a great brother himself.
However, as you talk about your families and non-existent love life that Dongheon likes to point out, you have a question on your mind, and you decide to blurt it out in the end:
“Do you feel like you need someone in your life?”
“Well, that’s a complex question,” the boy starts with a tilt of his head, contemplating.
“Says the Sociology major, I see,” you mention, and gosh, when have you turned playful? Hoyoung doesn’t mind though, in fact, he gives you a dimpled smile before his features smoothen out and his tone becomes more serious.
“I don’t really feel like there’s this void that needs to be filled with someone’s presence, you know?” He looks at you for confirmation, and you nod. “I believe that a romantic relationship should be about having someone to rely on, having someone you can take care of and feeling safe and comfortable beside them instead of feeling like they are your whole world, so when they may leave, your whole world shatters. It may sound egoistic but I feel this way, and for that reason, I don’t feel like I’m missing someone from my life, but it’s not that I would object if I fell in love.”
His words are mature and articulate, and you don’t know why, but you get surprised by how aware he is of his own feelings. You know how in today’s society, you’re almost being looked down on if you don’t have a significant other because it might indicate that you aren’t good enough, and a lot of people actively look for love because of that. There’s nothing wrong with looking for love, but just like the boy has said, you aren’t of the same opinion as others.
“No, no, that’s something I can relate to. I mean…” You decide to put in your two cents whilst you’re at it, but you need a few more seconds to put together your reasoning. “I’ve had crushes in the past, but my crushes never liked me back, and if I had let the rejections get to me, I would have felt really unlovable and probably would still do so. So I also think that preserving your autonomy while still being open to let someone in is what’s probably the healthiest option for me.”
You believe in love, you really do, but your experience has proven to you that you’re good the way you are, and you shouldn’t let others’ lack of romantic feelings towards you change anything about your self-worth. Especially because you can’t force feelings onto someone, you know that all too well.
“It’s not your fault that they didn’t like you back. The right one will do so,” Hoyoung adds gently, and you feel your heart thaw at his words. When you look him in the eyes, you can see the small version of the moon reflecting in his deep, dark orbs, and you think it’s beautiful; how he shines like sunshine with the moon in his eyes.
“It got deep pretty quickly, didn’t it?” The boy chuckles, breaking the precious moment, but you don’t even mind because you’re sure your feelings are written all over your face, so you’re glad when you can talk about topics other than love.
As you continue your stroll, accompanied by the slight buzz of the party and the sounds of the city that never sleeps, you end up talking about why you have joined the student council and stories regarding Dongheon and his student council duties, Hoyoung calling his friend out, saying that Dongheon usually calls him to vent to him when something goes wrong. Then, you also talk about your majors, why you’ve chosen them, whether you like them or not and what your favourite classes are this semester, and it’s lovely listening to someone who’s so curious and intellectual and able to share his opinion without putting down the other’s.
When you reach the lake, you stop for a while and sit down on a bench, and your heart yet again skips a beat when Hoyoung covers your legs with his suit jacket. Gosh, Dongheon was actually right about him being a real gentleman and taking extra care of others! Still, the gesture makes you blush really hard, so you’re glad that the nearby lamp posts radiate only dim lights because you wouldn’t want the boy to see your burgundy face.
Yet, getting away from the party means getting away from the food and drinks, so since you’ve already walked further from the gym hall, you don’t go back for that, you opt for a café on campus instead. While waiting for your sandwiches and drinks and while eating, you continue talking about common topics, but with him, even those seem special because he’s actually interested in your answer, and ready to share his opinion. It’s not a forced small talk you’re so terrible at, it’s actually an active conversation, and you have a hard time believing that you can feel this way around someone even if you’ve met him for the first time.
No wonder you feel the need to express your gratitude towards the boy when you finish your dinner and head to the dorms together.
“Well, I’ve really enjoyed today. I think our kind of prom was better than the actual one.”
“I promise I won’t tell Dongheon that you’ve said this,” Hoyoung jokes, making you laugh, and it’s such a lovely way to end this lovely night. You don’t have high hopes or anything of the sort for whatever that is between you and the boy, but your smile is genuine when later on, you wave him goodbye as you’re heading towards your room, and you know well that you wouldn’t have traded your kind of prom for anything else.
Dongheon might not have heard what you’ve said about the prom, but he has sure heard that you had a good time with his friend (from both Hoyoung and you), so he casually sends some so-called boyfriend material photos of his friend over to you one day without any explanation, and when you ask him why, he merely sends a shrugging emoji. You guess that he hasn’t been subtle to his friend either because Hoyoung ends up messaging you a few hours later, telling you not to take Dongheon seriously no matter what he says about him or what he sends.
“He just sent me some ‘boyfriend material’ photos of you. Wanna see them?”
“I’m going to strangle him one day, but sure.”
So you send him those pictures, mainly of him sipping on something at a café while looking out of the window dreamily, walking down the street in a puffy coat and a scarf, wearing an oversized hoodie with the hood over his head and holding a painting in his hands as if he was trying to show it off. Along the way, he ends up telling you stories that are related to the pictures, you even get to know that he painted that landscape in his hands, it was actually a painting workshop with an instructor during last semester, and when Dongheon asked what he did over the weekend, and he told the older boy about it, he was very keen on seeing the final product, so he sent the pic over to him.
“I didn’t think that he would keep them. :(”
“Now you know. Better be careful from now on.”
You type and send him an emoji where one of the Kakaotalk characters pat the other on the back, and you get a hugging emoji in return, and you’re so shocked that for a moment, you completely freeze.
“Oh, my bad, that was by accident. I’ve wanted to send this one.”
He replies a few seconds later with an emoji that’s bowing and thank you is written over its head. You tell him that he shouldn’t worry, but you need some serious amount of time to calm down your nerves.
It’s fun though, things fall back into normal afterwards, and actually, it’s not even that weird talking to the boy yet again. It almost seems natural, and since you two are both busy university students finishing finals, it’s not like you’re bombarding each other with messages. Yet, you can’t deny that you get an instant serotonin boost whenever you see that he has messaged you, and soon enough, your friends start teasing you about it. Yerin is being her kindest self as always, telling you just how much you would deserve a guy who likes you back while Hari starts moping that Dongheon should set her up with someone if he has so many single friends because he needs a boyfriend ASAP.
You tell them that it’s not like that, you’re just getting to know each other, but it seems awfully like a crush yet again, especially when summer break comes, and you two keep messaging each other. When the fall semester comes, you can’t wait to see him face-to-face, so when you manage to bump into him in the hallway or he lands Dongheon something in the student council office and you’re there, you feel like a silly high school student yet again, fanning over her first crush.
Then, he asks if you could take part in a project he’s doing for one of his classes and he needs to have interviews with students on how their childhood experiences shaped the way they feel towards socialising as they grow older, and in return, he treats you to a thank you lunch a few days later. After that, you lose track of the times you meet up, let it be for a quick lunch break between classes, studying together in the library or just randomly bumping into him in the hallway.
While getting to know each other through messages, random meet-ups and sometimes Dongheon’s intervening, you feel yourself falling for him more and more. You can’t help it, but this time, instead of falling head first, it seems like you’re falling gradually, and you don’t know which one is scarier. So you just let it be, enjoying your time beside the boy until you’re sure of his feelings towards you, and as time goes by, you’re less and less scared of falling.
With you two staying in contact over the weeks and all throughout the fall semester, it’s no surprise that Hoyoung knows when you take your exams, but you wish he didn’t remember so well when you feel under the weather after taking one of your exams, sitting on the top of the service stairs that not so many people frequent. That’s exactly what you need right now, and even when he messages you, asking about the exam and you tell him that you might have failed it, you don’t expect him to actually show up when he asks where you are.
There he is though, standing in front of you, eyes shining with worry as he’s looking back at you. You look down at your shoes instead, not ready to mope or vent to him. You see from the corner of your eyes when he moves towards you and sits down beside you, letting out a long sigh.
“What do you do when you want to cheer yourself up?”
“I watch funny videos sometimes,” you mumble under your breath, but you don’t feel like doing so now. You feel the need to cry, but no tears come out. Maybe it’s because you’re also partly angry, not just disappointed.
“Well…” He grits through his teeth as he’s thinking. “I’ll show you something better,” he announces, determined, as he reaches into the pocket of his hoodie, taking his phone out. You turn your head to look at him, slightly curious despite your state, and when he glances sideways and catches your eyes on him, his lips curl up a bit.
He turns back to his phone though and taps a few times on the screen before sitting closer to you and placing his phone in between you two, so that you could see what it is about. You immediately feel your features softening up when you catch sight of the fluffball on the screen.
“My sister said that she was trying to teach Deulle a trick, but it didn’t quite work out,” Hoyoung explains, smiling, as the video shows his sister’s dog going in circles around a small object that it’s supposed to jump over. The female voice in the video practically begs the dog to just jump, but instead, Deulle stops, staring at its owner, blinking frequently as if it doesn’t understand what’s going on. It’s going on for a few more times with the dog almost jumping over the object once, but in the end, it just decides to lie down on the grass, completely exhausted.
By the end of the video, there’s an evident smile in the corner of your lips, and seeing that, Hoyoung’s shoulders drop in ease.
“You’re too nice,” you blurt out, touched by the way he came over to cheer you up despite him having an exam a bit later. “You’re too good for me,” you admit, letting the words slip without thinking twice. It’s true though; ever since you’ve met him, you feel like you don’t deserve him, and in moments like this, you feel it even more intensively.
“Don’t say that,” the boy objects immediately, turning towards you with his whole body. Since he has scooted closer to you, so that you could look at his phone from up close, you two are pretty close to each other, but instead of intimidating, his closeness makes you feel comforted. To know that he’s just an arm length away. “You’ve also been there for me every time I was down in the past few months. It’s what people do when they care about each other,” he explains as if it was something so easy to say out loud, but he seems sincere nevertheless.
You don’t say anything, your heart is too burdened for that, so you just keep looking at him. He scoots a bit closer to you, slowly and gently, leaning closer to look you in the eyes. You feel bashful under his stare, but you don’t dare to look away.
“What is it about?” Hoyoung asks gently, his words barely a whisper. With no one around you since you’re sitting on the staircase leading up to the staff room, you feel like this moment is yours only. Something so precious yet so fragile, something that could easily break into tiny little pieces in a matter of seconds. “Do you feel this way because you might have failed your test, and you think you could appear less of a good person to me because of that?”
“I-” You start to protest, but you can’t find the right words to say. You look away, frustrated over not being able to put your feelings into words, but when you look back at him, he’s looking at you as patient as ever. “I think I just feel like… you know, there must have been something wrong with me, some flaws why people I liked in the past didn’t like me back, and I guess, I don’t know… It just crossed my mind that maybe one day you would see that too because I do that. When one thing goes wrong, I overcatastrophise and feel that everything could go wrong and I just… Gosh, that’s why I like being alone at times like this,” you rumble on and on, and by the end, you feel yourself tearing up, and you feel so pathetic, it’s not how you’ve expected this day to go.
You sniffle as you look away from him, not being able to bear his ever so warm eyes. You hate being vulnerable beside others, and it’s not like failing a test is a really big thing. Sure, it might be your first time failing an exam, but there are people out there with bigger problems, and you feel like a fraud mopping over your life in comparison to that. Plus, just as you’ve said, when this happens, suddenly you feel like a failure, someone who can’t do anything, who’s not worth anything, and a lot of times, a good cry helps to soothe your nerves, but you don’t want to cry in front of him. You don’t want to appear silly and overly emotional.
“I could bring up some theories and tell you how what you’re feeling is completely fine because I guess that’s what a Sociology major should do,” he interrupts your guilt tripping train of thoughts, and it works, you’re so surprised by his words that you find yourself completely frozen, the tears not coming out. He really has a way to shift the mood with his words, and you’re both in awe and in shock. “Let me tell you instead that if someone doesn’t like you because you’re flawed just as we all are, then you’re better off without them. It won’t stop me from liking you though.”
Now you’re even more surprised than before, and your eyes must be super wide when you turn your head towards him because his facial expression turns from stern to gentle instead. He looks away for a bit, scratching the back of his neck a bit sheepishly before looking back at you, ruffling his hair afterwards. You’ve noticed that he tends to do something with his hands when he gets nervous, and he’s trying to busy his hands today too, and you wonder just how much it must have taken him to say those words out loud. This time, it’s not the moon you see in his eyes but your own tiny reflection, and you also wonder how he really sees you.
“I’m being sincere,” he adds quietly yet confidently. He gulps once before he continues, and you can literally feel the same kind of nervousness he does, your heart threatening to jump out of your rib cage, so expectant and so giddy. “I like you, and I was trying to tell you for some time, but I guess I’ve waited for the right time, and this is definitely not the right time, not even the right place,” he points out sheepishly as he looks around once, and it’s so true, you find a small giggle bubbling up in your throat. He follows, and gosh, it’s so awkward yet it’s so right. You wouldn’t have had it another way.
“Thank you,” you say as you crush him into a hug, feeling bold and confident and all that. You aren’t even sure that it’s you anymore, but he has just confessed that he likes you! He actually likes you. “Thank you for liking me back,” you mumble into his neck as you’re hugging him, and you can feel his arms coming up to your back, closing his arms around you, tight and safe, comforting and warm as if he was trying to whisper it’s all okay, he’s right there with you.
Even though you could only hope that he would be right when he said that the right one would like you back, now you know that he wasn’t lying. Let you be silly or overly emotional, he doesn’t seem to care. If anything, his love towards you just grows even more.
Because he’s the right one for you. Now you know.
