I feel like Im screaming at a wall here. Hillary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE IN 2016.
Just telling people to VOTE MOAR doesn’t fucking fix things you have to fucking strategize and apply your efforts where they are needed and can actually make a difference. This applies to electoral politics too!!!
Posting on tumblr to an audience of blackpilled irony poisoned internet communists and circle jerking liberals who already agree with everything you say does NOTHING.
I’d even argue that it’s worse than doing nothing bc it makes you feel like you did something and got a little endorphin hit from the likes and comments, but regardless, neither of those groups are EVER going to be swayed by your tumblr posts.
how about if you feel like reblogging a post to lecture and/or argue about voting, aka shouting into the void and wasting your precious finite energy, here’s a helpful list of options to redirect that energy and donate your time/money instead
donate to state legislature campaigns -> https://blue24.org/state-leg
donate to federal (congressional/senate) races -> https://blue24.org/federal
volunteer to phone bank (free, usually remote) -> https://www.google.com/search?q=democratic+party+phone+bank+volunteering+near+me
find out who your local candidates are and learn about them -> https://ballotpedia.org/United_States_municipal_elections,_2024
While you’re there, get familiar with Ballotpedia and be ready to disseminate the info you learn about candidates to people in real life.
find out voting requirements and dates/deadlines for your state -> https://866ourvote.org/states/
Do you have a car? If so, talk to people in your life who don’t and see if they need a ride. Find out if their friends need a ride too.
And if you aren’t voting? pls disregard and go donate to a gofundme or volunteer with an org of your choice instead.
tl;dr
telling people to vote on tumblr dot com does not materially help anyone to actually vote
voters: stop wasting your time and energy going back and forth with people staunchly opposed to electoral politics and do something fucking productive
non voters: stop wasting your time and energy going back and forth with people doing electoral politics and do something fucking productive

please, for the love of everything good left in this county. for all the people who have been hurt and killed, and for those who will be hurt and killed if we don’t do anything. please, please vote, if you are in the US and able to, and haven’t done so yet. vote now, as soon as you can! don’t wait till election day. if you’re doing an absentee ballot, send it in tomorrow! and honestly, at this point, try and drop it off at a legitimate drop-box. or hand it in in-person to an election office. Who knows how long it will take to be received by mail, at this point

Note
I'm sure you've talked about this somewhere before, but what is a reasonable way for individuals with their own jobs and commitments to get involved with local politics? What level of involvement do most offices/parties expect, or what is usually an option? Again, apologies if this has already been covered somewhere.
I'll start by letting you in on a secret: we are absolutely desperate for help and will accept any time you are willing to give us for any activity you are willing to do. And there are a ton of flexible options that you can spend a couple hours or less on per week. You may need to spend some time asking around to get connected with the right person in your area but a good volunteer coordinator can work with you to find something you enjoy and that fits with your schedule.
Canvassing (2+ hours per week) - campaigns and parties will generally have organized volunteer events on Saturday mornings that last maybe 2-4 hours but you can go on your own schedule and do as much or as little as you want.
Phone or text banking (2+ hours per week) - large campaigns and local parties may need you to come in to the office for these, probably for 2-3 hour shifts. They may also be set up for you to be able to work off of an app on your phone from your own home, in which case you can set your own schedule much like with canvassing.
Host an event (5-15 hours per event) - two main categories of events here: fundraisers and meet-and-greets. If you have rich friends and a fancy house, we'd love to use your living room or backyard for a fundraiser. But if you're normal like me, a meet-and-greet is a great option, especially for small local campaigns. Basically all we need is for you to invite a small group of friends/neighbors (10-20 people is generally ideal) over for an hour to meet the candidate and hear what they have to say. Fundraisers take a bit more work to plan but meet-and-greets are super simple and quick. The campaign can help you hammer out the details.
Contact elected officials (10 minutes a week) - any time your officials are dealing with an issue you care about (or failing to deal with it), give them a call or shoot them a quick email to express your opinion on it. I highly recommend sticking to a very quick and simple "Hi, my name is ___ and I would like you to vote yes/no on ___." You can check with your local party to see if anyone in your area puts out a call for action alert on big issues so you don't have to comb through meeting agendas on your own. You can also leave a voicemail, so don't worry if you can't make the call during office hours.
Speak at public meetings (2-4 hours per week) - technically you'd only be speaking for 2-3 minutes but if you have to sit through the whole meeting in order to do that, it'll obviously take a bit longer. I won't lie, there's a good chance the meeting is scheduled at an incredibly inconvenient time. Depending on where you live though, you may be able to call into the meeting and just put your phone to the side until it's your turn to speak or submit written comments instead.
Letters to the editor (30 minutes per week) - if you have a decent local paper that people actually still read, your local party and candidates would appreciate if you could write in and talk about why you are supporting them or their issues. You can contact them to get talking points and suggestions. They may also just be looking for someone to lend their name to something that the campaign team writes, so you can ask them about that too.
Donate money (0 minutes) - okay, this might be a bit of a cop-out answer but if you have financial means and no time, campaigns always need money. Always.

houseplant tour! | resources about BLM and racism in the description (or under the cut on tumblr)
To anyone else with information overload and executive dysfunction struggling to learn more and take action, here's a breakdown of some BLM and racism info, with some suggestions for first steps:
~Learning~ (confidence in your own knowledge can give confidence in difficult conversations)
Instagram posts as a bitesize introduction and springboard for further learning: (They’re not in any order, but are numbered to hopefully make the selection feel more manageable - the list might look big, but there are only 10 points (: )
1. helpful and harmful sharing about racism/BLM https://www.instagram.com/p/CA_Lm9pH_pl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
2. common mistakes made by allies and why they’re a problem https://www.instagram.com/p/CBvqNYFli1G/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
3. systemic racism in the UK https://www.instagram.com/p/CBaa5hyAjug/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
4. Alternatives to appropriative and problematic language https://www.instagram.com/p/CBB5YH-DF-J/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
5. some terminology to know around social justice activism https://www.instagram.com/p/CBQlddbJSPu/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
6. Tips for talking to racist family members/friends https://www.instagram.com/p/CBN4fylhZWm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link and responding to common racist statements https://www.instagram.com/p/CBEdBf3A2c_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
7. listening and responding (as a white person) to someone telling you about their experiences with racism https://www.instagram.com/p/CBgaey2pkcf/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
8. Inclusivity https://www.instagram.com/p/CCiflnXgquJ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
9. “reading about anti-racism doesn’t make you anti-racist” https://www.instagram.com/p/CCCcH3nhv4T/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
10. building tolerance for feedback https://www.instagram.com/p/CBgK1u4JwR2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
~Ways to donate financially~
- GoFundMe pages. If you're not sure where to start, pick a key word or phrase and search it on the GoFundMe website. For example, search combinations of ‘Black’, ‘BIPOC’, etc, and ‘medical’, ‘homeless’, ‘eviction’, ‘LGBTQ+’, ‘COVID’, etc. Once you have found a page and made a donation, you can continue to search and donate within your means.
As well as or instead of searching on the GoFundMe website, there are also lists circulating on social media that have compiled links to donate to individuals and/or organisations through various means (paypal, venmo, etc).
- If you can, set up repeating donations at whatever frequency you’re able to, e.g. weekly, fortnightly, monthly, etc, ensures you're making a sustained effort. (E.g. you could set an alarm on your phone to remind you at an interval of your choice.)
- Finding a cause, organisation, or charity local to you to donate to, financially, through volunteering, or through donating items e.g. food banks.
- Paying or ‘tipping’ Black/BIPOC content creators who are sharing information and educating us. They may have links to donate in their bios in social media, or may point you towards organisations that they would like you to support instead/as well.
~Voting~
If you’re of voting age, research the policies (in this case, especially around racism) of candidates/parties and vote accordingly. This is a way to bring about lasting change. Systemic change is vital.
~Signing petitions, for example to ensure that laws protecting Black/BIPOC people aren't being taken away, or to petition for additions of protection.
~Protesting~
If you’re attending in-person protests, you can search for ‘safe protest guides’ to find out all the information you need to participate in relative safety, and wear a mask if possible.
Some notes
- This is not an exhaustive list, just some basic starting points. These are some things that I’ve learned - it’s likely that we will all make mistakes during our learning, and acknowledging those mistakes and learning from them is important. Learning to let go of defensiveness is useful and an ongoing process to keep checking in with.
If you have any corrections, further suggestions, or things you’ve found useful, please share them in the comments (: Thank you!
Some things to consider about COVID-19:
Wear a mask, unless you’re unable to (e.g. for medical reasons). Wearing a mask doesn't take away all risk of COVID-19. It does *decrease* the risk. Not everyone who carries the virus (and therefore can infect others) has symptoms - you could spread it without realising, or catch it from someone who ‘seems’ well. Thinking about whether we need to go out or if we can stay home instead is still important.  ----- A plant tour for those interested in plants, or those who need background noise. If any of my plant IDs are wrong, please let me know! I'd love to learn from you (: I hope you're doing okay (:

Real Talk Time
CW: This is politics talk, sorry, folks! We’ll be returning to your regularly scheduled RP content soon.
Hiya, folks. Friendly neighborhood Mod TTMIYH here, here to talk about something absolutely unrelated to cherp or RP as a whole except in tangential broad strokes.
If you are an American, and you are over 18, you have to vote. The majority of the Cherp userbase almost certainly consists of marginalized individuals in one way or another, and if Cheeto Hitler wins a second term, a: we are not going to have another free election, and b: marginalized people everywhere (me included) are going to get fucking demolished. The planet is on fire. We have to stop the bleeding now, not in four years, not when it’s convenient for us, NOW.
How can you help? I’ll make it very easy for all of you guys.
1: Find a candidate you like. I like Bernie, and I think besides him and Warren most of the other candidates are unpalatable, so I’m going to be volunteering for Bernie’s stuff, but, and this may not be perfect praxis, literally anyone is better than four more years of trump, especially if we can get a majority in the senate and house. At the bare minimum, getting a senate and house majority will be able to cockblock Trump for four years and probably impeach him, but we really need to be aiming for a complete sweep via ANYONE other than Trump.
Bernie Sanders: https://map.berniesanders.com/ Elizabeth Warren: https://elizabethwarren.com/join-us (Sigh) Pete Buttigieg: https://peteforamerica.com/forms/volunteer/ Amy Klobuchar: https://amyklobuchar.com/ Tom Steyer: https://www.tomsteyer.com/volunteer/ Andrew Yang: https://act.yang2020.com/sign/organic-web-volunteersignup-20180821/ (Also Sigh) Joe Biden: https://joebiden.com/join/
Great. Got one you like? Did you research their policies and are sure they’re what you want? Good!
2: Fight like hell for them.
We need to be involved with the civic process at EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. Put in your zip code, find out phone banking and canvassing and door-to-door events near you. The more people you can get off the couch and inform about what is at stake, the better. Even if your preferred candidate loses the primary, you’re still helping engaging potential voters that would not otherwise have been engaged, and that can help whoever wins.
If your preferred candidate loses, I’m sorry! That sucks. But pick your chin up and get behind the next candidate in line. Your efforts are not wasted, but we have to keep it up.
3: Pester EVERYONE. See what I’m doing right now? I’m using the platforms I have (with permission from Insolent, don’t you fret) to spread the message that we need to fucking mobilize like never before. We need to absolutely crush the Republican party into the dirt with sheer numbers so that they can’t possibly fuck around with the vote enough to win.
Get your relatives to volunteer (if they’re the same party as you). Get them to pledge to vote. Bug your friends until they go canvassing with you. Talk about this on social media. Talk about it everywhere. Become the obnoxiously political friend. Reward yourself with some ice cream every time you get someone new involved with volunteering.
Do research. Don’t argue on the internet with people on the other side, because they’re not going to listen and it’ll wear you out, but convince people who seem like they haven’t decided one way or another. Make sure you know exactly what your candidate’s policies are so you can talk about them in a way that gets people on board.
Use your voice! You have one. Use it. If you reblog this post you are magnifying my voice to everyone that can hear you.
4: Engage in the civic process. I will make this just as easy for you as I did the volunteering stuff. Go to https://resist.bot/ , you can access it through Twitter, Facebook Messenger, or text message. It will guide you through the steps to send letters to your local representatives, even your representatives in your state legislature, your senators, your congressmen, and so on. You can send an email or a snail mail or even a fax because for some reason they still use faxes.
Research your representative’s policies. If they align with yours, encourage them to keep it up, and make sure they know if they keep doing the right thing, you’ll vote and donate to them. If they don’t align with yours, threaten them via civics. Explain how, if they vote against Trump’s impeachment, for example, you will do everything in your power to elect their opponent.
Make it personal. You are such and such from X part of their constituency, you grew up in XYZ town, yadda yadda. They are humans. Their staffers are humans. Appealing to their humanity won’t work for 99.9% of the bad ones but you might be that one letter that cracks someone’s shell. You have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.
Resist.bot makes it so easy. I sent my representative a letter just today and it was easy so I’ll probably send more. Yesterday I volunteered to do phone-banking for Bernie.
I’ve been sitting on my thumbs my entire life waiting for everything else to go well for me, but I don’t have time to sit on my thumbs anymore.
Things aren’t going to change unless we force them to change.
Volunteer. Vote. Get yourself involved. Mobilize.
There is too much at stake not to.
Thank you.

EXCUSE THIS QUICK GRAPHIC BUT IT’S TIME TO REGISTER IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY US FOLKS.
1. Register to vote if you haven’t already! Deadlines are coming up and it just takes a few minutes. Do it right now! You can start here!!
2. Tell your friends to vote. Do it. Do it right now. Tell your coworkers, your relatives, anyone you can, just do it. Hell, make a party out of it if you have to.
3. Will you need an absentee ballot? If you think you even might need one, GET ON THAT SHIT. Submit an application for your mail form and vote now. Better safe than sorry!
4. Don’t know where to vote? Find you polling place! Find it, figure out how to get there, set up a carpool to help you friends get there.
5. Donate to campaigns you believe in! Throw money at your candidate if you are able, or to swing left if you want to just help dems out!
6. No money? Ask how you can help your local campaign by volunteering! Phone banking is a good place to start. It’s tedious but it matters!
7. Post about voting all over social media, reach everyone you can.
8. See what’s on your ballot on ballotpedia! Local government is important so know who is on your ballot and represents the change you want to see! Referendums are also here, so read up!
9. VOTE
An additional note to my fellow white woman: we have to step up our game. Remember that more of us voted for Trump than Clinton. I know we can’t control other people, but we have the best position to influence other white people into changing their minds and working towards equality. Talk to people even when it’s difficult. Family, friends, whoever; make sure they know where you stand and that they need to vote too. We can’t repair what our voting block did in 2016, but we can help move forward.

Streamline Your Political Campaign with the 10 best Political Campaign Softwares
The top 10 best political campaign softwares
Tumblr media
Regardless of which country you are living in, a political campaign software is utilized to manage campaigns, donations, and events for elections, fundraisers, etc. Usually, such softwares greatly streamline the entire campaign processes, letting candidates and organizations manage their resources in an effective way. Political campaign softwares can either be used by political action committees (PACs), politicians, or Nonprofit advocacy groups (NAGs).
The various tools of a political campaign software let organizers track constituents, manage fundraising programs, connect with volunteers, and control an online outreach. However, these softwares work best when combined with other software solutions like social media management, web content management, CRM, and eMail marketing.
If you are looking to elevate your existing campaign to a whole new level, then the following list is for you.

Note
Hey, Ivm all about some #resist. But I love in Alabama and every one of my reps is right in live with Trump, as is the majority of voters in state. These "call your reps" posts just simply don't relate to me in any way, I also am a broke college (1)
(2) student who has no funds free to donate. What are some other ways that I can be involved?
First, I’ll say this: we have to put pressure on Republican members of Congress. To win anything over the next two years, we are going to need a few Republicans in Congress to break ranks. They are not going to do that unless we make it clear that we’re here, we care, and we are going to work tirelessly to defeat them if they don’t listen to us. Most of the time, your reps are not going to change their minds - but they are NEVER going to unless they hear from you. So we’d encourage you to call anyways.
Furthermore, right now Republicans in Congress are falling in line with Trump. If he starts getting more unpopular with Republican voters, Republicans in Congress may be more willing to jump ship, and your calls can help there.
The #WeeklyResisters also try to focus some attention on issues where we’re not just trying to change votes, but change the level of attention being paid and how much members of Congress think people care. For instance, there’s nothing necessarily partisan about limiting the president’s war powers - people on both parties are on both sides of that issue, and Republicans may come out in favor of it if they get the sense from our calls that we’re paying attention.
Four other things I’d recommend:
1) Getting involved with local politics. Those elections tend to be less partisan, and they get a lot less attention, so your work can make a bigger impact. And they make a lot of critical decisions - we’re talking about the prosecutors who decide whether police are prosecuted when they kill People of Color, the school board members who influence what’s taught in our history and science classes.
2) There are activist organizations are everywhere, and in a deep red area could probably really benefit from your energy. You could try volunteering for one.
3) NextGen Climate and some other political organizations are looking for folks just like you to participate in texting campaigns. They ask you to use their texting tool to reach out to people in swing states, encouraging them to call THEIR members of Congress on key issues.
4) Similarly, many political campaigns these days have virtual phone banks, where you can call potential voters from anywhere in the country and urge them to vote for Democratic candidates. Our friends over at Flippable.org can help direct you to some of them!

HOW TO FLIP A DISTRICT BLUE
Lessons from a Swing District Team that Succeeded in 2016 by Ayana Haviv and Shabbir Imber Safdar
California Away Team’s Shabbir Imber Safdar talked to me about the efforts of his group, in a safely blue district in northern California, to volunteer in nearby swing districts in Sacramento (CA-07) and Reno, NV (battleground, entire state!). We discussed strategies and tactics of the effort.  His team’s post-election analysis is here on medium.com, but here’s the summary:
“During the 2016 election cycle our 40 volunteers made 10 trips to Sacramento and Reno. 3,343 doors knocked on, 44 voters registered, roughly 759 hours of volunteer time given. We won the state of Nevada’s electoral votes for the Democrats, helped elect a new US Senator (Catherine Cortez Masto NV), a member of Congress (Rep. Ami Bera CA-07), and a Nevada state Assembly member by 38 votes (Skip Daly NV-31). We also passed a ballot initiative that closed the background check gun sale loophole in Nevada. Oh, and legal weed was on the ballot and passed in both CA and NV.”
Shabbir’s team is currently in the process of relaunching their project for 2018’s elections, and intends to have a presence in at least 4 locations in CA and NV, as well as start a satellite team on the East Coast.   To answer your question, they are not yet ready for you to volunteer with them, but we are working together and Shabbir’s excited to see lots of other efforts get underway that he doesn’t have to lead.
ACTIONS THAT ARE HELPFUL TO FLIP/KEEP A DISTRICT BLUE:
a) Registering Democratic voters in the district, well ahead of time;
b) Canvassing in the district in the months and weeks before the election;
c) Coordinating with the local Democrats in the district to find the best places to engage in a and b, as well as to help get people to their rallies and other events and to amplify their message; and
d) Donating to and fundraising for the campaign of the Democratic candidate. This blog post will focus on strategies a and b.  Statements directly from Shabbir are in quotes (“”). Everything else is my interpretation of the conversation. 1.       DO IT WITH FRIENDS.
To engage in registering voters and canvassing most effectively, start with a group of friends. Have a core of 4-5 people who are going to commit to multiple weekends. The friend group is important because you want to build camaraderie and make the experience as fun as possible. It’s possible (but not necessary) to coordinate with groups like Sister District Project , Swing Left, and Flippable, but sign up a friend or four to do it with you.
2.       WORK WITH THE LOCAL DEMOCRATS ON THE GROUND.
Call the county Democratic party in the district you want to flip, and/or the precinct captains. You can also work directly with the campaign of the candidate you’re endorsing. Those organizations should provide you with suggested locations to canvass or register voters, voter registration forms, canvassing packets, etc. The local Democratic club or Indivisible group can help you think of great places to register voters or canvass, and could send volunteers to join you.
3.       VALUE YOUR VOLUNTEERS.
Registering voters and canvassing is physically and emotionally draining work, and early volunteer burnout is a real danger. The more fun you can make this activity, and the more efficient you can be with your volunteers’ time, the better. Things that don’t work:
Letting outsiders dictate your group’s volunteer parameters without thinking, “How will this make my volunteers feel?” One example is the Hillary buses in 2016 that spent more time on the road than actually working on the ground in Reno (8 hours travel, 4-6 hours canvassing).   Many that went from SF to Reno burned out after one trip, and told Shabbir they felt poorly utilized.
As a comparison, Shabbir’s team drove up to Reno, NV Friday night, ate dinner together, had breakfast together on Saturday, canvassed 7-8 hours, had dinner and drinks and relaxed in their suite together.  Then they repeated the same thing on Sunday,  but ending around 4pm to get back to SF at 9pm. It was incredibly hard work, but there’s no doubt they did good work.
“Another thing that didn’t work was once when I brought 2 volunteers to a Congressional race after the campaign staffer told me they would be manning a voter registration table.  I set the volunteers’ expectations for that.  They were excited to register voters.  We got there, and I went out canvassing with the rest of our crew.  I found out the minute I left they got redirected to phone bank and stayed in the office doing that for 6 hours.  That’s kind of a miserable 6 hour job, and they didn’t need to drive 2 hours each way to phone bank.   The volunteers felt bait-and-switched, and I told the campaign staff that I couldn’t yank my volunteers’ expectations around like that, and that if they wanted us to keep coming back (we made 6 trips this cycle) that they had to treat my volunteers better.  It never happened again.”
Things that worked:
Going to Reno for the entire weekend. Arranging hotel blocs to make accommodations easier and keeping people close together (always in a union hotel!).  Renting out a suite together, which is always stocked with food and drinks, for breaks and for get-togethers in the evening. Going out to eat or happy hour every day with the other volunteers, who are based around a group of friends. Talking extensively on social media and in person about the friends who did this and how awesome they are – creating a kind of “in” crowd of cool volunteers – for peer pressure purposes, and to make your volunteers feel special. After all, they are! Celebrating small victories, like getting one voter registration. Making your volunteers feel rewarded at the end of every day of volunteering.
4.       PREPARE.
Some tried and tested preparation methods: Have a practice canvassing session for anyone who’s new at it before every volunteer day. Do your own 1-page guide on your candidate’s position on all the issues, with possible scandals/red flags that might come up on the back (and arguments to refute), and give to your canvassers as part of their training. 5.       EXPERIMENT. Try voter registrations in new places that are likely to attract many Democrat-leaning voters. Some ideas: synagogues, mosques, gay bars, African-American churches, Section 8 housing, Latin-American markets, marijuana dispensaries. Some of us are planning to register voters in line at Comic-Con in San Diego!  (Shabbir thinks this is brilliant, by the way) “The first time we rolled into Reno in late summer of 2016, the local Democrats informed us that the Republicans were ahead of us by 5,000 registered voters.  I freaked out.   Everyone in Washoe’s Democratic community (staff, volunteers, etc) pulled together to close that gap, but we still went into the election 3,800 registered voters behind. I swore that I would never fail to monitor and participate in that during the off year before the election EVER AGAIN.”
5.       YOU DON’T HAVE TO ACTIVATE PEOPLE ON THE ISSUES YOU CARE ABOUT MOST.
“When we were canvassing in the 2016 election, when we met someone under 30 who seemed like they didn’t care about politics, we led with legal marijuana on the ballot. When there was a tricycle in the driveway, we led with a school bond measure.  Not everyone is motivated by your issue.  You have to speak to people about what’s important to them, not what’s important to you.    A great opener is ‘What is the issue that’s most important for you this election?’ When you get the answer, you can think back to your your 1-pager to talk about where your candidate stands on that issue.   Never use a campaign script, always talk to people in the way that you would like to be spoken to.  Nobody wants to be ‘talked at from a script’.  Campaigns hate that I say that, but once you’ve mastered the art of talking to people where they are comfortable, you can’t lose unless they’re a die-hard opponent, in which case you can wish them a nice day and move on.  Ain’t nobody got time to try and reason with cognitively-biased Republicans.” Good luck forming your team to flip your nearby swing district blue! Keep your eyes on the prize – winning that election.

Millions of people around the world marched on Saturday to speak out for gender equality, stand up for human rights and tell the newly inaugurated President Trump that hate has no place in his administration.
But the work has just begun. As everyone discussed the impact of the Women’s March on Washington (and what fell short), activists and advocates across social media were quick to ask an important question: What’s next?

While the Women’s March and its many sister marches were an extraordinary display of solidarity, unity and democracy, creating change also requires dedicated, tangible actions on a daily basis. Several online tools are helping to lead the charge.
“Our march forward does not end here.”
“Thank you to the millions of people around the world who, on Jan. 21, came together to raise our voices,” the Women’s March official website now reads.”But our march forward does not end here. Now is the time to get our friends, family and community together and make history.”
Here are just a few websites that have popped up in the days immediately following the Women’s March to help you take action, push for social progress and fight for our collective future in the dawn of Trump’s America.
Be sure to also check out our list of extremely useful apps and sites to help you organize here.
1.Women’s March 10 Actions / 100 Days
Our march forward does not end here. Join us in launching a new campaign: 10 Actions for the first 100 Days https://t.co/kdxDJyAU8i http://pic.twitter.com/OouHIARogQ
Women’s March (@womensmarch) January 22, 2017
The Women’s March organizers launched a new campaign on Sunday, called “10 Actions / 100 Days,” in an effort to galvanize people involved with the movement to continue fighting.
Every 10 days during Trump’s first 100 days in office, the organizers “will take action on an issue we all care about,” posting each digestible activity on the site.
The first action is writing a postcard to your senators about the causes and issues that matter most to you. You can download printable versions, and even get together with friends and family to fill them out.
Sign up here to get notified when the next actions come out.
2.The Big Hundred
Continuing the trend of taking action during the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency, the Big Hundred is a celebrity-filled social media campaign promoting non-partisan actions the average person can take. The goal is to get everyone to “become more active in their government and communities.”
Every day, The Big Hundred is posting a new piece of content on its Instagram account, complete with actions across the social good spectrum, from contacting your elected officials to volunteering.
“No more tears, America!” the site’s press release said. “It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
Celebrities and influencers taking part in the campaign include comedian Paul Scheer, actress Constance Wu and artist Lisa Congdon.
3.Call Them In
If you want to call but aren’t sure what to say, we got you: https://t.co/S6O79Y6J3Q https://t.co/ms2gPyZceQ
Call Them In (@callthemin) January 22, 2017
Contacting your elected officials to voice your concerns has been a common, impactful call-to-action ever since Donald Trump was elected. But for people who might have trouble finding the right contact information, or those who might not know exactly what to say, it can be a daunting task.
Call Them In is a new website and email subscription service that has already done most of the work for you. If you sign up, you’ll get strategically timed email reminders to contact politicians, including tailored scripts to prepare and curb some of the anxiety you might feel. The site also has a handy list of Trump’s cabinet nominations.
“We will provide all the tools young people need to contact their elected officials, so that a growing constituency eager to communicate their views will be heard loud and clear,” said Bella Pori, cofounder of Call Them In, in a release.
The site’s strategy focuses on the Senate, and aims to help people “back progressive legislation in a meaningful way.”
4. Swing Left

“Don’t despair. Mobilize.”
That’s the tagline of Swing Left, a website that points out swing districts, or “places where the winner of the last House of Representatives election was determined by a thin margin.” The site helps you find the swing districts closest to you and, in turn, find progressive politicians to support.
The goal of the site, whose team says it has no formal affiliations with any party, is to regain Democratic control of the House in 2018. Republicans currently control the House and the Senate, which significantly narrows the path toward progressive legislation.
When you sign up with the site to join a Swing District Team, you can get information on how to fundraise for or donate to local progressive candidates, join a phone bank, volunteer, canvas and more.
If you live outside a swing district, Swing Left will send you ways to help from afar.
