Miele is absolutely enraptured by Ayame. They feel like she just doesn't question them. She just lets an Arrancar stroll inside her house like it's nothing and showers them with care. They know it's her nature to help others and see how much efforts she puts in that, with a family to care for to top it all off, and they're incredibly thankful for being accepted like that.

Aya and her house have become two of their safest places and she'd probably qualify as a close confidant (sidenote, they adore Shinji as well and think he's cool as fuck. They just get caught up in his antics-). Like, Ayame is there for them. They have trouble speaking up about what bothers them so when something's not right heir mind is immediately on board with telling her about it. I can totally see her, Kisuke and Kiku becoming their found family, seeing how protective they are of Kiku as well already.

And I think there's totally room for them and Aya to become something more. As it was said on discord we'd need an AU for that, but imagine them growing close through arts and crafts for example. It's not the first kind of relationship that came to mind for her, but if you're ever curious to explore the idea I'm down!

I think I do a very bad job at hiding how much I like these two's constant mutual bullying --Miele keeps nagging and poking fun at Rose but only because they feel comfortable enough to let out their more playful side around him. The way they feel at ease with him comes so natural that they don't even question it (I like to think it's also because of the Visored/Arrancar complementarity).

As a result, Miele acts all tough but they'll melt like a stick of butter once they get his attention. All he has to do to send them down a (positive) spiral is compliment them. It would be super fun to see how Miele could get out of their "there's no way he's into me" state of mind in case Rose makes his move; initially they'd probably deny he's being serious at all and think he's just playing around.

So sorry this took me a month (ー_ー;)

First, about the bingo card: while some of the options don't match my own enthusiasm/level of feeling (like "sure i can see it"), I still checked everything that's technically correct. Additionally, the pink heart options are things that, while they don't match my personal headcanons/interpretation, I'm absolutely cool with in fanworks! Where do I begin with these two? This May, I believe, it was exactly a decade since I realised that hey, new OTP. (So happy 10th AsaKikuversary to meee 🥳🥳🥳) Soon after, I came to the understanding that they were *the* OTP. The *One*. Like, there are OTPs - of which I have several - and then there's AsaKiku. And I can't very well explain why that is, but I suppose that, to me, they're the world's easiest puzzle. They just fit, and make such perfect sense. They're so utterly lovely together. And to this day, they still bring me so, *so* much joy and comfort. I just absolutely love and adore their canon relationship - that sort of awkward, yet undoubtedly supportive and respectful friendship they share. They're so sweet to each other, and match each other's temperament so well. Every single interaction they've had is *so* good. And the part w/ Kiku running up the hill to find Arthur = peak fucking romance. I could go on about all this, were it not for my fatigue (so don't worry, I'll stop soon!). Though, honestly, I wish I could put it in fewer & better words...

My one gripe about canon AsaKiku is that they're under-utilised. There have been *so* many moments over the years where Hima absolutely could have had them interact - where that would've made sense, but didn't happen. (I know he once said something about them being quite similar in certain ways, and therefore lacking "explosive power", so I suppose they're not haha funny enough for him to use a lot. Guess they just get along too well 🤷‍♀️)

In summary: AsaKiku holds a very special magic over me; they're basically part of my personality at this point. My merch collection is...embarrassingly large, and my dream is to someday finish a fic I'm actually pleased with ;; (No other ship has inspired *nearly* as many fic attempts as they have. My ideas for them are probably past 100 by now...)

While I love hetalia’s characters and the series does entertain me, please note that I’m still very critical of the source material and acknowledge a load of its fuckups loll. This series brings me a load of comfort and nostalgia otherwise. I also have the personal preference of often referring to the characters by their human names most of the time and I like depicting them as people with strong backgrounds in their culture’s traditions, kind of like a human au. I guess u could say a lot of this blog is for my own personal thoughts, ideas, indulgences etc.

example: I like to see Herakles having had a mother who was very involved in curating artifacts and artwork, teaching Greek history and tradition and took a huge part in cultivating Greek ruins. Maybe even some restoration work. And helped in arranging heritage festivals and exhibits. Perhaps she was a university professor

For a lot of the languages and cultures that I post about, please keep in mind that I’m still learning more and more about them and are by no means an expert on any of these topics! For Jan who would have grown up a medieval Christian, those almond blossoms would have as much significance as the sakura in Japan and I really do think there's at least a copy of it above their bed at some point. i think what really gets me about them both is that they’re both kind of seasoned, older nations? definitely not naive about love or romance—and they meet in the middle of the Eighty Years War (for Johan/Jan (Ned)) and right as Tokugawa Ieyasu is on the brink of achieving political unification (for Kiku). they’re both a bit of a mess when they first meet, and there’s that cultural gulf to cross...which they do! the idea that it starts out with some curiosity but also the usual realism most old world fucks have but then becoming deeply intense and romantic is so good? 

and tbh, i used to see 1853 and the end of isolationism as the end of nedpan but now im like...holy shit i am wrong lol. my academic specialisation is british imperial history, so prior to this i had my anglophone goggles on too hard. the black ships, anglo-japanese alliance, pacific politics in terms of the dominions and commonwealth etc. but there’s actually so much dutch involvement in helping japan through the growing pains of meiji-era modernisation?? the basis of the naval academy—but also very much non-military civil engineering for flood prevention and ports and general advice about government reform? hell, especially since flood control and water related engineering is such a Dutch thing. literal i left marks on your architecture and culture that lasted till today. and this also being the era that van gogh was inspired by the likes of hokusai and hiroshige to paint almond blossoms and damn. and the fact that it’s all being remembered in more recent years. fuckin statues and monuments to dutch civil engineers, the restoration of Dejima to how it looked during sakoku with the help of Dutch archives. the fact that so much stuff between them lasted.

I don't think anybody would really care. If Kiku (or any of the other brothers, for that matter) wore more feminine clothes the others would just be like '...sooooo.... what's up?' And then decide it doesn't really matter.

More likely Gilbert or somebody would come over to hang out and find a picture of little Kiku in traditional Japanese clothes and be like 'why are you wearing a dress?' And Kiku would just be like 😑

No. Not unless he brought home somebody who gave off really bad vibes. But if Kiku does bring anyone home Alfred and/or Yong Soo will be like 'He's not going to fuck you. You know he's not going to fuck you, right?' So Kiku doesn't bring anyone home unless he's really serious with them.

- Amelia calls Arthur and Kiku 'my boys' every chance she gets, she'll purposefully try to steer conversations in that direction.

- Arthur can't trust them to be alone together, they will just completely ignore basic necessities of sleep and social interaction and just binge tv or games for days at a time.

- Amelia has a Southern accent when she's tired or mad and it's kind of adorable.

- Kiku tends to be a bit more playful with Arthur and Amelia. He smiles and laughs a lot more and joins Amelia her teasing Arthur.

- Amelia is taller than both of them. By quite a lot. No she will not let them forget it.

- Arthur and Amelia share a bed the most often, and they're both clingy as hell when they sleep. Arthur sleeps in the middle when Kiku joins them.

- Additionally, all of them are terrible sleepers. Amelia snores like the devil, Arthur talks in his sleep, and Kiku kicks.

- Amelia hugs Kiku to her chest (effectively shoving his face in her boobs) to see him flustered.

- Once one starts laughing, the others can't really stop. This is mainly because they find eachother's laughs hilarious, so it just keeps them going.

- Kiku thinks Amelia looks cute with low pigtails, so she wears her hair like that when they go out. They also team up in putting hair clips all through Arthur's hair when he sleeps.

- Kiku likes sitting in their laps when he's in a cuddly mood. Arthur enjoys this the most because he's clingy as fuck-

- Arthur isn't keen on PDA, but he does like holding their hands when they're out and about.

- Kiku is house husband, Arthur is working husband, Amelia is equilibrium.

- Amelia 100% needs to have a goodnight kiss on her forehead when they're together or else she gets really sad and pouty that night and the next morning.

- Arthur uses really sweet petnames (although sparingly), Kiku doesn't use them, and Amelia's petnames range anywhere from "sugar" or "honey" to "broski".

- Their movie tastes conflict so hard, it's kind of insane. Amelia prefers action and coming of age stories, Arthur prefers the classics and a few romance dramas, Kiku prefers the real gritty side of psychological and drama.

One Piece 945: O-Lin

This chapter starts off with Orochi fleeing the Capital being his usual scumbag self. (I swear everytime Orochi talks now I only hear Tekking101's Orochi voice lmao).

Zoro is in a struggle with Kyoshiro screaming for Orochi to wait for him so he can take his head lol seems logical that Orochi would just listen to you Zoro.

I love how Kyoshiro is just smirking and why is Zoro already huffing? He must really want Orochi's head (for good reason obviously) or is he being pushed?

Then the Oniwaban-shu arrive and Fukurokuju realizes that they are all the Straw Hat Pirates. Seems like Hawkins snitched lol. One member fires a shot at Zoro which he dodges even while clashing with Kyoshiro.

Fukurokuju plans that all they need to do is capture one Straw Hat and make them spill the beans. This interrogation probably would be similar to the Kamazou/Killer treatment. Just dont catch Usohachi!! Lmao

Sanji hands off O-Toko to Usopp as X-Drake consistantly tries to bite him. I love how Sanji's like "Let's get started!!" And you see all the flames by his feet but his observation is Top tier but isn't on God tier yet because Drake swung his tail caught Saanji off guard and knocked him into a building.

As he does this X-Drake states, "So you're the O-Soba Mask guy...to think that you're a Vinsmoke..." which pisses off Sanji. I would really love to see and extreme diff fight between them Sanji and X-Drake.

Brook tells Komuraski to hurry and leave the Capitol but the Oniwaban-shu has already noticed some relation between her and the Straw Hats, specifically Zoro. Brook then proceeds to pull a Danny Phantom and goes ghost again to scare off the Oniwaban-shu which worked even though last time they realized the spirit could only chase them lol

Now onto my favorite scene this chapter.

I just love how casually Law pulls up and is just standing there right next to Hawkins, sword not drawn, no mask on his face, just chilling in the middle of the commotion.

Law realizes that Bepo is missing from Shachi and Penguin. (But I swear at first he was in jail with them 🤔🤔)

Anywho, Hawkins states, "Only a fool would keep all of the hostages in one place." As he reveals to Law that he has the lives of his 3 subordinates and the only way Law could defeat him is by first taking the 3 lives of Shachi, Peguin, and Beppo. And dudeeeeeeee the look on Law's face when Hawkins showed off his power......

Law knows this is going to be a tough one. Hawkins powers are ridiculous.

Komuraski gets captured while fleeing by Fuujin and Raijin of the Oniwaban-shu and let's out a "Kyaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!" Which is heard by Sanji and you already know when he hears the voice of a woman in danger he is on the move!!

Mosshead steps in to save the girl lol and Sanji's face is PRICELESS!!!

(So did Kyoshiro just sit back and grin while Zoro left from their clash to save Komuraski? I know he must be an ally on the low. He might even be the last missing Scabbard, Denjuro.)

We get a quick couple of pages where Kin'emon apologizes to Ashura Doji for burning down the My. Atama forest. Ashura Doji is pissed but seems to understand why Kin'emon did it especially after Lord Yasu died for the rebellion.

Kin'emon again asks Ashura Doji to fight with them to which he responds that he has something he needs to show Kin'emon and Inuarashi. I'm very curious as to what it is. I think we should keep a keen eye on what's going on there.

BIG MOM HAS ENTERED THE PRISON MINES

And everyone is confused like there's only one old hag who can take out steel doors, but no way she's here, I thought her ship was sunk, am I dreaming right now?!?! Lol everyone's reaction had me dying!!

How long have we been waiting for this interaction!?! Hahahah

Big Mom calls for O-Tama to come after her into the Prison Mines because she can smell the O-Shiruko. O-Kiku tells O-Tama and Momonosuke to hide outside because no one can see him.

Big Mom tells Queen to bring the o-shiruko and Queen is pissed off thinking someone was messing with him by telling Big Mom his favorite food, o-shiruko, was available.

In the midst of this Luffy uses some logic and yells that Kid and Killer will die while Queen is arguing but Queen is going Zoan form which means he's probably done arguing lol and is getting business. But how could u not get straight to business in the face of Big Mom.

Babanuki tries to warn Queen he can't keep Big Mom from food but Queen fully transforms revealing his devil fruit:

Chopper and O-Kiku are outside discussing that O-Lin is kinder than Big Mom and the enemy might be bullying her🤣

Queen, not not knowing that Luffy and Hyou ate all of his o-shiruko, states that it's all his and he won't give her a single bite. This obviously pisses off Big Mom, she yells, "Hurry up and give it to me already!!" Then fucking punches the shit outta Queen!!!

I don't see the utilization of armament Haki so the blow may not be as devastating as we think but Big Mom is a force to be reckoned with so never underestimate her. And that was the chapter!

BREAK NEXT WEEK

(I'm sad but it was well deserved)

This chapter kept me thoroughly involved, had a very good pacing, and covered mostly everything I wanted to see this week. It was really good.

Honestly... Am I the only person who does want want Yamato to join the crew? Don't get me wrong, I love him, I love this character a lot, but I don't feel like he fits in and I don't like how he imposed himself in the crew. Luffy never agree to let him in or never said "oh yeah, I'll let you join". I don't think Luffy is firmly opposed either, but I just don't like it.

I hate how people are always like "oh yeah, this and this character will join the crew!" or act as if some characters (like Carot) are already in it. It bothers me so much, because the characters in the crew are the main protagonist of One Piece and we've known them for so long now. We've heard of Jinbei before we've seen Chopper and we've known him for so long before he got into the crew. Yamato, we've only known him for a little while, so it just feels wrong to me for him to join the crew.

Also, as a afab nonbinary person who use he/they pronouns (but doesn't look like a "he"), it hurts me seeing people using she/her for Yamato, just because he has boobs and looks like a girl. I don't fucking care what is on his vivre card, he uses he/him in canon, then fucking use it, even if his gender is female. So I know this is part of why I don't want him in the crew, because it'll means that more and more people will use the incorrect pronouns for him and it will just hurt me. I understand this is more of a personal opinion and I can't do anything about it but anyway.

Anyway, I'm against Yamato joining the crew and I like how Jinbei said that they still have to hear it from Luffy's mouth (so that means don't jump to conclusion guys)

Anyway, I'll probably get hate from this but I don't care, I just needed to rant. I delete and block any hate anyway so.

The Yamato discourse just really shows who are real trans ally and who aren't. Yamato has always said he is a man, has always used he/him pronouns, yet people are still using she/her or they/them for him just because he has big boobs.

And the "but Yamato is so gender ambiguous so I'm using they/them for this character" is just as bad as saying "Yamato is a girl", because Yamato is not "gender ambiguous". He is a man, he never claimed to be anything else. I hate to break it to you, but that's the reality.

And I understand, I'm a non-binary afab with huge boobs (that I want to get rid of, but that's not the point here), using he/they pronouns, so it could be easy to project my gender to Yamato, and headcanons are fine for that, but in canon, Yamato is a man, and not non-binary, so I don't.

And those same people are fine calling Kiku she/her because she looks like her gender. Y'all are too hypocritical and call yourself trans ally, I can't.
