What things I don't like seeing with Natsu in fanon between fics and fanarts(mostly fics):
Only caring about Lucy
Making him more ooc than necessary
Making him a complete ahole
Not caring about FT or defending his home (are we talking about the same Natsu)
Making him look too s*xual with Lucy (as in thinking they're always at it don't mind some affectionate pieces but that extent no just no)
Being rough to anyone who isn't Lucy including other guild members
Not thinking anyone isn't just as important as Lucy
Throwing everything away for Lucy (Natsu wouldn't do that at all he loves both Lucy and FT)
Making him let go of all his morals just to be with Lucy
All I can think of for now when the times I would come across an FT creator and they had only Natsu just being centered with Lucy it's like they didn't even read the series just wanted him to be paired up with Lucy and nothing else mattered

She fakes her death in New England. Then hides IN NEW ENGLAND? I know the states are densely populated even tho they're small, but the point of faking your death is to make it improbable nobody you know could ever find you. Do you know how often ppl in New England states just hop around other states for any banal reason? You cross state lines to go to an amusement park. Restaurant. Store. Game. Visit extended family. She can't even keep it up for 6 months anyway.
It's only in the final episode of a 2 season series that Allison comes back to say she wants a divorce. After she tried to kill that ahole, had hurt multiple people, committed felonies, and faked her own death. What a failure of writing. The word "divorce" should have been brought up in ep2. The Real-World Kevin should have made threats or Sitcom World should have shown it's somehow impossible for that to happen no matter how many times she tried, THEN she could have moved on to desperate measures to escape with our understanding.
The Sitcom World was obviously to show Kevin was the main character who would always win because it's literally his world. The Real World showed everyone was trapped with him, unhappy. Why was that not utilized fully? It tried now and then, but ultimately showed she could have always walked free at the very end. Her somehow breaking the sitcom rules by asking for divorce (which I don't get bc it's not groundbreaking; other sitcom couples have divorced) broke his own world. So where's the explanation for why she couldn't have done that and saved us about 16 1-hour episodes to sit thru?
The creators and writers had such a good premise and some interesting ideas, but failed so hard in execution. At first I was convinced they made Allison and so many chars dumb, even in the Real World, to show they were still made from the Sitcom cloth. They can't solve problems realistically bc sitcoms never do. But the more it went, the more I'm convinced the writers were just that dumb themselves. A shame.
I'm 7 eps into watching "Kevin Can Fuck Himself" and I'm so mixed on it.
Like, yes, every sitcom wife has the absolute right to escape the clearly emotionally-abusive-for-laughs husband written by the worst men in showbiz. I'm down for that concept. But... they kinda skipped right over the divorce option. They never even brought it up to explain why she can't? She goes straight to plotting murder and cheating with a married man when divorce is a thing?
I know very well sitcom men are the worst and Kevin's a great amalgamation of most of them, but he hasn't even threatened to hit her or neg her for sex like some. Just leave. Is this a Masshole thing? Am I supposed to like absolutely nobody except the friend Patty?

I set this to a couple other writers but no one answered. do you think that site engagement has dropped because the quality of writing has gone down? maybe if people wrote better content, people would interact more.
Hi, anon.  Maybe no one else answered because this is incredibly rude? But I’ll answer you because I honestly don’t care how you take my response. I’ll even elaborate for all of the other people that haven’t responded.  We are in a worldwide pandemic, and even though some states and countries and people don’t think it’s a big deal so they’re still living their lives as they please, the majority of people are not.  Myself included. My entire schedule and life changed in April/May, and it hasn’t gotten better. But writing has been an escape for me, so I used it as such. Did the amount of content that I put out there decrease? I don’t think so. I definitely changed my focus and wrote fewer different stories, but the overall amount of content stayed the same.  However.
There have been very few writers/giffers/artists that have been creating content consistently throughout the last year - and that’s perfectly fine. Putting out less work or different work or even MORE work in a shorter period of time and then nothing for a month and then something else is perfectly fine. It happens. Writing and giffing and creating artwork take time and energy and effort. They take motivation. And for a lot of people, the last year has been very difficult.
Have you ever published something or shared something you created, anon? It’s scary. And try as we might not to put ourselves into our work, it happens. So sharing something is often a reflection of what and where we are at the time ... and for you to question the quality and say that’s the reason people aren’t interacting? It’s bullshit, and all it’s going to do is make people even more hesitant to share their work in the future.  We do this for free. Some of us have Ko-fi or other links available should the people that view what we do want to contribute, and that’s much appreciated. But that’s not the reason we share our work on here. Some people need validation through interaction. Some people beg for it - that’s their choice. But as an author or an artist or a gif maker on a FREE WEBSITE we are not entitled to responses or interaction or support, no matter how much we think we should be. But you aren’t wrong - interaction and sharing have gone way downhill in terms of numbers lately, but it’s definitely not because of the quality of work.  How do I know this?  I’ll focus on writing, because that’s what I’m most familiar with.
There are stories on here that haven’t been edited. They don’t have punctuation or complete sentences. They misspell main character and setting names and locations. They are wildly out of character and/or clear self inserts marked as reader or OC stories. There is no plot, no organization... and they still get hundreds of notes. This has been the case forever.
Compare this to meticulously researched and outlined stories that are written with the intention of being accessible to wide varieties of people and groups. They are edited. They are formatted. They feature in character/in originating universe situations that feel realistic, details, chapters, etc ... and they do not get these notes. This has also been the case forever.
Are these both valid representations of fanworks that people want to share with others? Are they there for people to read and enjoy and share if they choose to? Yes.
But since your choice of the word - quality - is so important to you, you need to ask yourself what the word actually means to you - and consider the fact that to different people, quality often means something very different.
Some people think quality simply means entertaining. Some people think it means involving. Some people don’t think, and just consume whatever they come across, no matter what it is as long as it features their favorite characters or fandoms. Your definition of quality might be very different than mine, and mine might be very different from the next person’s.  So no, anon. I don’t think engagement and interaction has decreased because people are producing lower quality content. I think that it’s gone down because people are just not sharing or reblogging or reaching out as much on the things that they consume. Also? People outgrow fandoms. It happens. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve had drop off mid-story and just stop reading, for whatever reason. Tumblr is a shitty environment a lot of the time, so I get them stepping away from here, too.
And it’s a shame, because there are some really, really talented people out there that get skimmed over in favor of other stories/art/gifs/etc. I myself need to do better when it comes to reblogging, but I like to give people actual feedback when I do, and as of late, I haven’t had the motivation to do so. It sucks. We need to do better to support our friends and other content creators on here.  This got long, but I wanted to be sure that I clearly explained myself. So if you’re reading, still... I hope this cleared some things up.  Also, if you’re implying that *my* work has gone downhill recently, please feel free to tell me that straight up. Because I want to know, so that I can focus on things moving forward - and so that my writing doesn’t continue to go downhill.

I wanted to say this to someone: the thing about the narcissistic thing in the Loki episode that bothered me, was that you can have narcissistic tendencies but not be a narcissist. So while Loki has probably had narcissistic tendencies, many of us have though, I don't think he's a narcissist, not really. So I think narcissistic tendencies is the better wording for it.
And I feel that word is thrown around too much.
Idk, I know I could say this to you. And I get frustrated when people see a character showing narcissistic tendencies but call them a flat out narcissist.
Hi babie!(っ˘з( ・ั﹏・ั) yes, you can come here and tell me..and I hear ya..
And yes! I too have major problem with Loki being enforced the title of narcissist by people who probably don't understand it or probably are throwing the word around lightly, which I think was a thing of the past given that we're in 2021 now..but of course it's not🤦🏻
I've done a little bit of googling around which I think the creators didn't bother to do..imma try to break this down..
Mostly Narcissists are said to have a "grandiose ideas about their own abilities and importance. Such persons think that they're exceptional and react with rage or humiliation if others don't recognise this fact." This one is psychological def..but here's the thing....in a human exhibiting these traits yes they would be a narcissist, but Loki isn't human, he's a Jötun, who grew up as a prince on Asgard, both of which are factually in this fictional context superior races compared to humans. So when Loki says "I'm a god you dull creature" he means it.. factually, given he's going to live 1000s of years, is naturally born powerful and durable and resistant to strain and damage in his own small body..weighs a lot more than a human of the same size.. because he is.. infact not a human ..so while a human would be narcissist saying that..Loki was just having a terrible day and just wanted it to end and be done with whoever had control over him..when he fights with Thor and says I'm better than you..he's again saying it factually because the only thing Thor is better than him at is brute strength and you need more than that to be a King.. if you compare Loki to humans..sure he might seem like a narcissist to you, but he's not a human..he's a fucking God..which is to say he is a being of a superior species..but when you put him in Asgard and look at him, he's just the smarter wiser little prince who never fucking got his due in Asgard because he was a sorcerer and Asgard values brawn over brains.. in Asgardian context Thor is a fucking narcissist but he's never labeled as such even tho two seconds before Loki fights Hulk, Thor is fighting the Hulk for the same damn reason!
Another important marker of Narcissism is lack of empathy...............WHERE IN THE FUCKING HELL DID LOKI LACK EMPATHY!! BOY HAS TOO MUCH OF IT! HE TEARS UP EVERYTIME SOMEONE GETS HURT! His own line of "I don't enjoy hurting people. I..uh..I don't enjoy it. I do it because I have to, because I've had to." This little soul teared up when he read about the destruction of his..what had been his home for so long and who had been his people for so long even though we know he wasn't afforded the same courtesy in return, especially by his own brother and so called friends and his jackass dad..
They think..by they I mean the show creators and the writer, they think they understand Loki and what his story has been but good gawd never has his story been about a grandiose idol who gets his feathers ruffled when he's not acknowledged. They were writing for the MCU Loki, for the tortured soul who had just escaped the clutches of Thanos after being captured after a failed su**ide attempt..There's no consistency in what they've written..
Loki is the scapegoat..like @latent-thoughts said..he's not the one asking for undue attention, he's a fucking neglected kid who just wants someone to honestly acknowledge what he can do and not in a backhanded way like Thor or his friends did sometimes..Odin never fucking acknowledged him, but he looked up to that man who was his "father"..he just wanted to prove himself to his father that he may be the adopted frost giant but he was just as fucking good if not better than Thor..and Thor 2 just kinda proves that he was better, he sacrificed himself for Thor not knowing he'd live and not believing Thor would do the same for him....the beginning of Ragnarok proves he was the better king..Asgard was less colonial and more into the arts and people were happy under his reign..he gets all up excited around Mobius because for once someone is listening to him and paying attention to him and what he says without him having to prove himself..
And good gawd! Let's reiterate that this being..who is of a superior species grew up as the Prince of another superior species, excells in combat and sorcery and is way more intelligent than humans can comprehend, has seen the universe, been around different places on the Yggdrasil without an infinity stone, has read more in more languages than humans can comprehend..if he calls himself smart..THEN YOU SHOULDN'T GO oooohh look at this narcissist (눈‸눈)
Another thing that pops up under narcissism is someone who loves or desires their own body sexually............imma stop y'all right here he hasn't actually said he did.. Mobius bless that lil ahole soul I like him even tho he's a bit of a dick just assumed he did.....and also....like again..this is a shape shifting sorcerer......if he hasn't had a threesome with his own clone and someone else..then I'm calling that a waste of power (⌐■-■)
Anyway..the whole point of it is, Loki is made the narcissist for the same things Thor is appreciated for..yet again..This was supposed to be about listening to Loki's side of the story and not enforce the pre-existing ideas about him on the people who actually care about him..this series was, as I'm starting to feel, made for your everyday ma*vel fan and not particularly Loki fans, who have been picking up crumbs about this character since the first time he showed up and tried to talk down Thor from starting an unnecessary war with an opposing kingdom in an effort to show their dad that Thor's not ready and accidentally found out he was adopted..(ب_ب)

As someone who has watched both Voltron and She Ra, I just want to ask, is She Ra worth watching? I say this because of the all the crap I heard surrounding the show's staff last year. How they seemed to support the harrassment and Joaquim and Montgomery, and supposedly copied scenes from Voltron into their own reboot. But made it "better" according to their standards. I'm really confused and actually want to watch the show, tho I don't want to support anybody who just acted like aholes.
What happened with she ra staff is that a few of the storyboarders were liking some tweets that criticized voltron and the writers/showrunners. And to me that came across as unprofissional. The worst one was that one of the storyboarders (who I don't even know if she still works there anymore or not) was given a Lance drawing made by JDS and wishing her luck, but she still went ahead and liked some tweets saying bad stuff about voltron and its writing.
As far as I know things have calmed down and the storyboarders haven't been acting that way. When I started she ra I didn't care for the storyboarders because of what happened. But the creator, Noelle Stevenson, is a really cool person and she cares a lot about her show and so far hasn't gotten into any drama.
The "she ra copied voltron" is not true at all. The "she ra copied this hanging from a cliff scene from The Black Paladins" couldn't happen because animating an entire season isn't done in just a few weeks and I really doubt that the she ra crew was still animating the first season when voltron season 6 came out.
There is also people saying they copied designs but once again, she ra is a show that has been pitched and worked on for like three years before it was even out. So before Shiro had white hair in s6, the she ra crew had already designed Scorpia to look like that.
Would I suggest you watching she ra? Yes, it's a really enjoyable show and I think it's really worth it to watch it.
At first, after the drama with the storyboarders, I also had doubts about watching because I didn't want to support them, but then went like "screw it" and watched anyway.
You can watch the show and not interact with crew/staff if you don't like them. Aside from the voltron drama, they also got into some other drama with people from she ra fandom, so yeah, the voltron discourse isn't the only discourse they got into.
