GENTLE REMINDER
Tumblr media
Just a gentle reminder to NOT add fanfic to sites such as Goodreads and the like. Fanfic exists in a legal grey area as transformative works but what we won't want to do is summon the Great Eye of Sauron that is publishers and rights holders to the little sandbox we all play in by making fanfic INCLUDED IN SEARCH RESULTS FOR THE ORIGINAL MEDIA.
I've had to email Goodreads support to get my fanfic removed from their site this morning, and I'm waiting on a response now.
Goddamn.
This is the only time I will ask nicely.

Note
hello! i saw a post that some people apparently have used ai to "finish" wips that have been "left too long"... i don't think those people really care about blanket permission (tho i wouldn't call their output "transformative work") but it did come up on the post, so i thought maybe i should ask for clarification? because i personally understood that authors give permission under the assumption that a person would make a thing based on their thing, so i don't know if this should be a further disclaimer (like the goodreads thing) or if it should be taken for granted..
(not to mention that this isn't fic of a fic, its literally finishing someone's writing)
No, you should never do this. Author's put a lot into writing those works, using an A.I to finish them would never be the same as them finishing the fic. An A.I can only "add" from what it knows from scrubbing works that people do not consent to.
Do not use A.I to finish fics that authors abandoned or haven't finished. That is super disrespectful to them.
I understand wanting to see a fic finished and wanting to know the outcome but doing it with A.I would never fulfill that for you. It's merely guessing and adding from multiple different things/works that it's stolen from and might not even make sense. It doesn't know what direction the author was going in, it doesn't know the twists and turns the author was going to add, it doesn't know anything about the author.
An A.I generated fic is Completely Different from a fan-made art or fic based off your work. It's Completely Different than someone asking to finish your work themselves.
A.I is not a "cool way to finish unfinished fics" .
Please don't use A.I on fics just because you are curious about the ending.
It will never be the same as actual human writing. And it is super disrespectful to authors who put time and care into their work.
Sorry if this comes off annoyed, I just really don't like this whole A.I writing fanfic thing lol

Keeping Your Fics Off Goodreads
Sharing in case anyone finds it useful:
Thought I'd go see if anyone has added my latest fic to Goodreads now that it's done (so I can angrily have it removed), and I found something interesting!
Someone did indeed request it be added, but the Goodreads Librarian actually went to my AO3 profile to check my policy, and then quoted it back to the reader and said no.
This is a sample size of one, obviously, but I want to believe that Goodreads is beginning to develop some internal policies about respecting fic author's wishes, when they are known.
So add a note to your AO3 profile if you don't want to have your fics added to Goodreads. It definitely can't hurt.
Tumblr media
(and if you don't know, it's actually pretty easy to have a fic removed these days. Fill out this form and select "book records: adding or editing" and it should be gone in a day or two. You may have to verify it's yours in some way - I use the same email address listed on my AO3 profile so they know it's me)

Some Thoughts
(For readers horrified by what’s been going on in fandom who want to help)
Twats
I’m sad that some authors have been pulling their works from AO3, though I totally get it. But I’m not going to add to the “don’t sell fanfics” commentary much. I’m working with a lawyer to get mine taken down from Etsy, and it sucks, but I think this is an opportunity to talk about the fandom community as a whole. Specifically, what you can do to keep it alive and healthy.
I think it’s easy to sit at home, read about this illegal fanbinding drama with interest, run to AO3 to mass download your favorite fics, pat yourself on the back for not buying or selling fics illegally or not adding them to Goodreads, then move on with your life. But I would argue this passive attitude is just as harmful to the community, in some ways.
The Criticism Ratio
You all have probably heard that you’re supposed to deliver compliments and criticism with a ratio of 5:1. This is because negative comments stick in our heads more, so even if you were balancing the good and bad, or giving twice as many good comments as bad ones, the bad ones carry so much weight, they still seem to be winning.
With writing, I would argue this ratio is probably more like 10:1. Because it’s so personal. And most of us are so new to it. And it’s so much freaking work. I timed it once, and one chapter typically takes me 12 hours to write. That doesn’t include editing, or the hours my beta puts into editing. Then, to float all that work out into the world and get negativity back … oof, it makes embarking on the next 12 hours, and the next and the next VERY difficult.
My Experience
I’ve been an author of some popular fics in both the Harmony and Dramione spaces. On the Harmony side, I’ve dealt with personalized attacks, not just against my stories but against me as a person. And when that was going down, there weren’t a ton of fans speaking up on my behalf. I got a lot of DMs telling me those bullies were just the “loud minority” but from my point of view, with my supporters sounding like crickets, they felt like a majority.
(Quick note to my Harmony readers: No I’m never writing Harmony again, get over it, and stop following me to every work I write next to ask me when I’m writing Harmony again. You had your chance to support me, and you fucking missed the boat.)
On the Dramione side, the public spaces are more moderated (thank God) so I’m less likely to stumble upon downright bullying. But this space is overwhelming in how BIG it is and how much conversation goes on about my fics. I always feel like the last to know when there’s some big Tik-Tok boom happening with one of my stories, when a story gets added to Goodreads, when there’s a reddit thread discussing the flaws in ‘Timeless’, when it gets posted for sale on Etsy, when someone popular binds it. It’s very hard to keep up with this giant fandom and it’s too much to handle at times. Which means if people don't send us things directly, we don't see it.
I also get this thing in Dramione that I didn’t get as much in Harmony where people act afraid or embarrassed to reach out to me. They’ll say things like, “I’m so sorry to bother you…” or “I’m sure you hear this all the time, and I know you don’t need to hear it from me too, but your works are great…” I think in Dramione people assume because it’s so big, other people are taking care of things, but that’s not the case. There is a lot of activity, for sure, but not much of that is making it back to the author.
My Ask
So anyway, think about the role you play in fandom. Are you contributing to the compliment bank, or the criticism one? (Remember, abstentions go with the majority. And in this case, every negative experience holds x10 weight).
Good things can be as simple as sending a quick note like, “Just letting you know I thought about your story today” or “Here’s another kudos because I just reread this gem!” It can be correcting a negative comment or review you see out in the wild, so that if the author ever stumbles across it, they see that their people are out there, sticking up for them. Ten people can instantly negate a bad comment with ten positive ones. Then if the author ever finds it, no harm done.
We all know the bad things that harm fandom, so there’s no need for me to rehash them here. But don’t forget that the passive things can be just as harmful. Things like: Rating a fanfic on Goodreads, because it’s already there, and you really want it to count towards your goal. Downloading a story, loving it, and never letting the author know. Reading rude comments online, complimenting yourself for not being that mean, then scrolling to the next thing.
My challenge to fandom is this: Let’s fill that compliment and support bucket so full that when an author does encounter a negative experience with one of their fanfics, they have a giant, fluffy pillow of endless love to fall back on. Let’s make those rare moments of nastiness truly feel like a minority to our creators. It’s not a ton of work. Our fandom is so flipping large, it just takes a tiny comment from each person to keep our community feeling like a fun, positive place to play.

AITA Harry Potter Fandom Edition
Or an etiquette guide I wish I'd have had when I started reading fanfiction two years ago. Please feel free to add to it, as I'm sure it's missing a few things.
I track the fanfiction I read on goodreads (or other book tracking app). AITA? Sorry, YTA. Fanfiction should not be tracked in the same place as books. It's not professionally published, and you should not treat it as such. Authors do not want this, most fans do not want this. Fanfiction already exists in a sticky legal area, do not put it at risk by treating it as if it were a book.
I rate the fanfiction I read on goodreads or another public site. AITA? Sorry, YTA. Fanfiction is a GIFT. Imagine you go to a picnic where everyone brings a dish. You love potato salad, so you put some on your plate. However, you take a bite, and this is the worst potato salad you've ever had in your life. What do you do? You move on right? You ignore the potato salad and eat the macaroni salad. When folks are discussing the picnic, you say you had a lovely time. You don't bitch about the potato salad, you just say to yourself "hmmm, that wasn't for me, but look, there's a whole buffet of things I do like." This is fanfiction. You try a fic, and you don't like it? Oh well. You move on. No one forced you to read it. You don't review it, you don't rate it. This was a gift to a community, and you are not the intended audience. Move on.
I bought ATYD on etsy or another website. AITA? Yes, YTA. Fanfiction cannot be sold. You can bind it yourself if the author gives permission for this. You can give it to a friend (100% free, no money/trade, a true gift). You can print it out, three hole punch it, and put it in a binder. You cannot sell it, buy it, or bind it if an author asks that it not be bound.
I asked the author if I could bind a fic for personal use, they said no, but I did it anyway. AITA. Yes, YTA. What you do when no one is watching tells a lot about who you are as a person. If an author asks that their fic not be bound, respect their wishes. They wrote the fic as a gift to the community. Don't shit on their gift by not honoring their wishes.
I steal typesets from creators and then sell my binds on Etsy, AITA? Yes, YTA. First, you put fandom at risk by doing this. It's illegal to sell fanfiction. Second, you piss off binders that share their typesets for free, and they pull their typesets which then limits access for people that ethically bind. Just don't.
I steal art from creators because they post it, and I don't give credit. AITA. Yes again, YTA. Most artists are more than happy to give permission for their art to be used in personal binds, but give them the benefit of granting permission for the gift they've given us. If they are ok with their art being used, give them credit in the typeset.
I use AI for writing prompts, help with my outline, character art creation, and help with dialogue. AITA? Yes, YTA. AI does not belong in creative spaces. All AI use involves theft and tremendous ecological burdens. There is absolutely no place for AI in this space.
I put up a patreon to release my fic (or release it early) to paid members only, AITA? YTA. Charging for fanfiction is illegal and puts all of fandom at risk. If you want to do this, write non-fandom works.
I don't read WIPS, AITA? Hmmm, this is a tough one, I guess your NTA, but if no one read WIPs, we would quickly lose all our writers. Writers thrive on engagement. Sure they are writing for themselves, but hearing from readers, knowing that people are excited to read what they've written and want to read what is coming, motivates them. Reading WIPs nutures the fandom and encourages the interaction between writers and readers that leads to amazing fics.
I don't leave comments, AITA? Yes, YTA. If someone took the time to write a fic, and you took the time to read it, you owe them a comment of at least "Thanks for this!". Writers LOVE comments. They are writing for themselves, but they are motivated by your comments. They wrote a whole fic that you devoured, you've told all your friends about, you made a tiktok video about, and you've personally bound. Tell the author how much the fic meant to you!
If an author doesn't update, I send them a message and try to pressure them to update, AITA? Yep, again, YTA. Comment on their WIP how much you love the fic, tell them all the things that made your toes curl when you read it and made your breathing speed up. Tell them what you are hoping happens or dreading what comes next. Tell them you appreciate their gift! Do not bully them. It's never ok.
I fucking hate femme Sirius, and I make a point to bitch about it every time I see him. AITA? In extra bold letters, YTA. Not every fic/art is for you. Scroll on. You want masculine Sirius? He exists, go interact with his writers and artists. Quit engaging with the content you don't like. It might be a little known fact, but the reason you keep seeing it is BECAUSE you keep engaging with it. Quit. It's that easy. Engage with the content you want to see.
I ship shame the fuck out of jegulus because I'm #TeamJilyForever, AITA. Yes, YTA. See above bullet point regarding femme Sirius. Again, quit engaging with content you don't want to see or don't like. It's not for you. I don't particularly like a lot of stuff, but that just means it's not for me. There's no ship shaming in fandom.
I post 2 sentence plot bunnies, personal head canons, or trope ideas and then accuse others of plagiarism when I find a fic with something similar in the wild, AITA. Yes, YTA. First, you did not invent the only one bed trope or the sick fic. Anyone can and should write about any trope they want. You also aren't the only person that posted a plot bunny of "Marauders Coffee Shop AU, and Remus is a chronically ill barista that serves Sirius his morning brew". Unless someone is directly lifting words from your published fic or extremely detailed plot points, let folks write their own spin. If you really have something you don't want to see others write about, don't put it out there for folks to see. (This one might be debatable, but this is my take and mine alone. I definitely do not mean it's ok to plagiarize. Just don't be an asshole on either side of this one, ok?)
Whenever I see a post/video with a personal head canon or plot bunny, I ask the creator for recs, AITA. Yes, YTA. Most of these creators have a whole playlist of recommendation videos or entire spreadsheets of recs. They are just putting out a fun idea, quit flooding the comments with "any recs bestie?"
I see creators/writers/artists as my personal service providers, so I feel entitled to ask for recs whenever I want, AITA. YTA, read the room. These are people with real feelings. There should be a give and take relationship with these people, not a continual take and take on your part. If the video is about recs, fine, ask although honestly, learning to search on your own would be best. We really need to quit burdening these creators with the labor we should be doing. But also, start seeing these creators as people with feelings, not just a service provider at your beck and call. Some of these folks are fighting for their lives daily, being slammed in comments, and are hanging on to this fandom by a thread. If a post is about something completely unrelated to "recommendations," it's probably not the time to ask. Instead really listen to what they are saying and engage with that in an appropriate manner. Show them appreciation, and if you don't enjoy their content, move on.
I don't search for fics on my own, I just ask creators, AITA? Yes. YTA. Ao3 has a robust search engine that is easy to use. Watch a TikTok to learn how to use the search feature. ffn is a lot less search friendly, but if you search reddit or tumblr, you can find what you are looking for. This is a really important skill to have, and I promise if you learn it, it'll only benefit you. I am likely twice your age and have figured this out, I promise you can do it!
I kink shame, AITA. Yes, YTA. Just don't read or engage with the fics you don't like. No one needs to know, it's just between you and your Ao3 history.
I leave public bookmarks where I rate fics and leave reviews, AITA? Yes, YTA. Again, fanfiction is a gift. No one wants your review, least of all the author. This is not a book you paid for. Mark your bookmark private and then you can leave all the info you want.
I like to make posts/videos about the fics/characterizations/art styles I don't like, AITA? Yes, YTA. Make all the videos/posts you want about the fics/characterizations/art styles you LOVE. Tell the world, we want to know! But quit slamming creators that offer their best to us just because it's not for you. You are not the intended audience, so keep it moving
I make videos/posts about fics/art that I didn't create and never encourage folks to go leave comments for the author/artist, AITA? Unfortunately, yeah, YTA. You might not intend to be, but this one is easy to change. You want your videos/posts to succeed, of course you want engagement on what you post. But it's really easy to encourage those that like what you are posting to comment on the original. A lot of authors specifically see engagement about their fic on TikTok but have very few comments on the actual fic. It really shouldn't be this way.
I only read the BIG fics, AITA? You know what, you do you, boo. I guess your NTA, but you aren't supporting fanfiction in a constructive way. Maybe you only have 2 long fics in your for the year and so yeah, you want to read the hot ones, I get that. But if no one reads the undiscovered, the hot ones will never become hot. We have a handful of great authors that get recommended 90% of the time. That recognition is well deserved, I love them too. But we have so many great authors that aren't getting recommended, and those hidden gems are undiscovered. If you have the time, use the search and try to find the next fic that makes you stay up til 3 am to finish. They are out there, and they aren't just the ones you see all the time (although read those too, because they are awesome!).
I went to Universal, did a studio tour, and keep buying official merch. AITA? YTA. There are many videos about this, but you cannot keep putting money in jkr's pocket and expect this fandom to thrive. You cannot "reclaim" something that still financially benefits jkr. Trans rights are human rights, and this fandom, specifically the Marauder's fandom, is supposed to be an inclusive place where ALL are welcomed. When you do these things, you create an unsafe environment for all. The last few months we've seen many writers and creators leave the fandom because of this behavior specifically. Do better. (If you are going to do these things, please take fuck jkr out of your bio because you don't mean it).
There are so many more unspoken etiquette rules that I've missed. This is not meant to be all inclusive, just a random list of the top issues I see and how you can become NTA in this fandom. Some of it isn't intuitive, I admit to being guilty of some of these early on. However, when you know better, you do better.

AO3 Tracker??
So I'm a computer science student right now and I'm just now learning how to finally build my own apps/websites.
I also have a problem when it comes to forgetting which fanfics I have actually read or which link are just grayed out because I clicked on them and forgot to read or didn't finish or something else like that. I therefore wanted to make a website that would easily enable my keeping track of what fics I have actually finished reading.
Sure I could just make an excel spreadsheet, but why not make it harder on myself now so that its really easy for myself and others in the future.
This is what I have so far. I don't know how far down the tags rabbit hole I want to get because as far as I know AO3 does not allow web scrapping so everything entered would have to be copy/pasted.
Tumblr media
Obviously it's not very pretty at this moment in time. And before I get to far on this time sucking project, I was wondering if something like it already exists...
If not, what other things would people find useful in something like this? I'll for sure add maturity ratings if I decide to go further. Maybe even a personal rating of authors/fics. The goal would not be to turn it into something like goodreads, but to be able to quickly find your favorite ever author/fic. And they would only be able to be seen by the user rating them.
If you think this is an interesting idea, please reblog so I can get more feedback!! Thank you

Fics on Goodreads???? Don't do it!!!
If you want to try to add the word count/pages read to your reading goal, watch this video and it can help you.
Fic authors DO NOT want their fics on there (or at least the ones I've seen talk about it)
--dont add them yourself. Don't review them on there. Spread the word.

Hi! I’ve just finished reading Remain Nameless and loved it! I wanted to add it on Goodreads, where I keep track of anything I read (fic or not), but it marked an error.
As I am a Goodreads Librarian, I tried to see what happened and there was a legend saying you don’t want it to be there and therefore cannot be reviewed anymore, was it truly you? Or is this a mistake?
I’m just curious about it, if you don’t want it there it’s fine :)
Hi anon. I absolutely do not want my fics on goodreads. I'm going to repost my full answer from a previous ask about this, but i encourage you to read the notes, replies, and reblogs from other fic authors. I don't claim to speak for all fic writers, but every single writer in my friend circle is horrified about this trend of adding fics to goodreads.
My previous answer:
Please. Fic readers, I implore you to please stop adding my fanfics to goodreads. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. Fic writing is an unpaid hobby for me and to have it critiqued publicly alongside traditionally published works does not sit right with me. Awhile ago, someone let me know Remain Nameless was on goodreads, so of course I looked it up. And wow, yikes, found some real nasty reviews there, and while there were also positive ones too, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand people like to do this because they like having their fic reading counted towards their in-app reading goals. But please, if people could consider how this once again blurs the line between unpaid fanworks and traditional, capitalist media. Fanfiction is a separate form of media, it's written and shared for free, it exists outside mainstream publishing. It's also not a great idea to keep drawing attention to fanworks on the same platform as the actual trademarked properties. Just my view as a fic writer, and i hope people will respect my wishes in regards to my stories, though i obviously have no way to enforce this.

Writer Interview
I was tagged by @xpityx <3
How many works do you have on AO3? 65!
What's your total AO3 word count? 1 445 234
Your top 5 stories by kudos? Muscle Memory, Winter Coat, Purpose, I Came Here Without a Choice, and Message. All from the good ol' Witcher fandom days. :)
Do you respond to comments? Oh yes, almost always. I keep hoping people would start more dialogue based on the replies, I love making friends that way.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? revealed (in absentia). It has an open ending, sort of hinting at the larger scale of unhappiness experienced by Corvo and Jess both.
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending? Probably The End of Gifts. I love happy endings that have a hint of bittersweet in them. Sewn to Your Sleeve is kinda like that too. It feels better to have a happy ending where some things cannot be recovered or they don't stay the same.
Do you write crossovers? Sometimes. I've done at least Dishonored/Death Stranding, and I have a CoD/Locked Tomb one in the works. :D My favorite brand of crossover to write is taking characters from one world and chucking them into another. I love figuring out where and how they fit into another set of rules.
Have you ever received hate on a fic? At most people leave entitled or kind of rude comments, but that's very rare.
Do you write smut? Do I ever!
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Luckily not, I think. Someone put reviews on fucking Goodreads once.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Yep, at least to Russian and Chinese. It's a special kind of honor.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? Several, and I love doing it. My partner and I have written hundreds of thousands of words of RP, and some of that has been published.
What's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? I never fully give up on WIPs, but the Night Vale/SPN crossover has now been in the limbo for almost a decade, so. :D
What are your writing strengths? Worldbuilding and plots, I think. I love writing shortform stuff, but these days I gravitate towards longfic by default. I have lots of words stuck in my brain, and I think I'm pretty good at coming up with stories.
What are your writing weaknesses? I mean, sometimes I wish I could go back to banging out short fics. Also one of these days I will get around to learning English punctuation, prommy. On the other side, I want to get better at writing characters who are not introspective fuckers. Lately I have been deliberately trying to write the blorbos being less likeable and/or making choices that cannot be justified, which is its own kind of fun and actually harder than you'd think.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Complicated. I'm not a native English speaker, so I'm already navigating in another language than the one I spoke growing up. My general opinion is that sometimes it can add something to the story (for example, writing from the POV of a character who doesn't understand what's being said), but unfortunately there are ten bad choices for every good one lol. Single words and phrases, especially something that's like a trademark for a character, are alright.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to? Hmm. I'm bad at keeping my fingers away from things I want to play with. I'm going to nominate the Dorian/Bull fic I have as a WIP, that's a delicious ship I haven't touched yet in terms of publishing anything.

I'm sorry did somebody say POST-SEASON-11 FIX-IT FIC??????????
this is a real book, you can buy it, I don't even know what the summary is yet because I am just going to quote the beloved YouTuber who brought it to my attention and in doing so immediately confirmed I must have it:
"The utter relief I felt that these characters were in safe hands again, meaning not in Chris Carter's hands..."
"Fixes what went so very badly wrong in the last few seasons."
"Claudia Gray gets it. She gets the x-files part of it, she gets the Mulder & Scully relationship part of it; she wrote this with full knowledge of all 11 seasons, 30 years of story behind it, as if these people had actually lived these lives and had grown as people because of it."
"If you're an X-Files fan, go get it. Read it, buy your friends copies, get the audiobook, get the e-book, make the sales happen so we get more of these books."
(P.S. I have glanced at the summary and it's definitely spoilery if you haven't seen S10-11 so that's another reason I'm not going to include it here, but I did add the Goodreads link.)

hiii
not sure if you’ve done this before, but would you mind recommending me your top pynch fics? Please and thank youuuuu
hi anon! thanks for the ask! I haven't done a "top" or "favorites" list but I just made my trc/tdt bookmarks on ao3 public so feel free to check those out. i normally bookmark fics i want to re-read and i've been sometimes posting a "fics i read this week" post where i bookmark fics from my history to post here on tumblr.
if you want to stay for a while i can tell you why i don't like top/favorites lists but no worries if you wanna stop reading now and also i def dont mean to project any of this below toward you, anon, i really appreciate the question! however, when someone asks me something (esp on anon), i wanna be able to share my feelings on the subject, so here are just my thoughts on the topic of this.
i don't like favorites/top lists in fandom for a number of reasons:
I am SUPER indecisive - I read fic all the damn time and I have loved so many fics I read that if I made a favorites list, it would be 100+ long haha not super digestible for folks to read/pick and choose from. My bookmarks, for example, is over 120+ at the moment and I add to it nearly every week.
I am SUPER forgetful - I sometimes forget to bookmark or save a fic that I read and loved and then it feels like its gone forever. My bookmarks is not a solid list of every fic I've read and loved and people remind me of fics that I think "OMG I LOVED THAT ONE" like every week and I realize I didn't save it so even if I did make a favorites list it would probably be the faves I remember at that moment and not an accurate representation of all the trc fic I've been reading since 2021.
I am SUPER against it - this could just be from my experience in the marauders fandom, but I hate when authors are put on a pedestal or seen as "the best of the fandom" because I don't want to deter anyone from writing fic or creating content in the fandom they love. I've been writing fic since I was 13 (I am 30 now) and we didn't have influencer culture or rating fics on goodreads or speculating authors irl identities on tiktok. (Again this is mainly hp/marauders fandom toxicity hence why I'm outta there, but I think this must also permeate other fandoms - thankfully not trc that I've seen.)
Anyway, my point being - creating content (fic, art, music, etc) for a fandom you love is BEAUTIFUL and I don't want to contribute to the emphasis on number of kudos, bookmarks, and/or comments - that stuff shouldn't matter to readers and it shouldn't matter to writers either. And sometimes when these "favorites" lists come out, it makes the creators (artists, writers, etc) feel like their stuff isn't good enough. With the trc fandom already being so small (I think? where is everyone?) I don't want to contribute to that narrative.
TLDR: Liz, it's not that serious. I know but I was in the marauders fandom around the big boom of ATYD so like I've seen some toxic-ass shit. ty 💕

Paranormal Romance Book Covers & Titles - Tooz Prompt!
Over breakfast this morning I opened Tumblr and this post caught my attention - the book cover to the book "Morning Glory Milking Farm."
I had to look the book up, of course. The title was just so funny to me, let alone the perfect cover art. [Link to book on Goodreads.]
But I really had fun looking through the Recommended Books. I love a fun titles that make me laugh and sound ridiculous - so you know the author has a great sense of humor. Besides, y'all know I don't shy away from any monster. Don't these sound fun? Imagine your favorite author here writing a fic with a title similar to these. OMG, now I'm begging for some crazy stuff! Such as.....
"Titan: Romancing His Stone. A Daddy Dom Gargoyle Romance", by Jullian Graves.
Tumblr media
"Love, Laugh, Lich: Sex Rituals Are Not OSHA Compliant", by Kate Prior.
Tumblr media
"The Orc At The Office: Mate-Bonding With A Co-Worker Is Against Company Policy", by Kate Prior.
Tumblr media
"Knot Today Satan", by Calliope Stewart.
Tumblr media
And I can't forget "Morning Glory Milking Farm: A Monster Bait Romance", by C.M. Nascosta.
Tumblr media
Okay.... Tag you're it. Add a fun crazy title and book cover for a Paranormal Romance, or whatever. Something that catches your eye. Maybe some of us will be inspired to write something off the wall? Or create your own book cover and title. Oooo, then maybe someone will write a story to it. Or someone might make a cover for your title? Challenge yourself!!
Here are a couple people I'm tagging to throw a monkey wrench of a challenge into your day - week maybe? Obviously no pressure. Just for fun.
Open to everyone!!!
Whatever muse you want - turn him into a monster or a paranormal creature of some sort!
Instructions:
Find a fun paranormal romance book cover and reblog, maybe challenge someone else?
IF you get inspired to write your muse as a paranormal creature, or do a mood board, artwork, book cover, - whatever creative outlet you do, it'll be amazing!!! Please tag me or message me.

10 Questions for Fic Writers
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
35
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
461,252
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now: Lokius, but in the past I've written: MDZS/The Untamed, Assassin's Creed, X-Men: First Class, Captain America, Overwatch, and a few anime. (Only counting things I've shared.)
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do my absolute best to! Sometimes I fall behind but a few months ago I chained myself to my desk to get caught up and now I'm trying not to let them go unanswered for too long.
I do it because I really appreciate when someone takes the time out to tell me what they liked, or just that they did like what I wrote! Also, I love talking about my fics! So sometimes I may respond with more information than you expected when you left a simple comment about one line you liked. 😆
5. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I hope not, but I have had someone put my fics on GoodReads which I DO NOT WANT. Please, please, please do not list fanfic on GoodReads or any similar site.
6. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Depends on how we're defining "co-written". I've never split writing between myself and another author, but I have done an event fic that was extremely collaborative and I think the artist deserved credit for helping to come up with many of the ideas used.
7. What's your all-time favourite ship?
An impossible question! It's usually whichever I'm focused on at the moment, which is Lokius in this case, but if I have to make a top three Nope. I realized as I was writing those words that that is also impossible!
8. What are your writing strengths?
I know I answered this in a different game and can't remember what I said. 😅 Let's go with soft, sappy moments and porn with feelings. (Get you a writer who can do both, as they say.😂)
9. What are your writing weaknesses?
World building and sometimes scene setting. When I'm picturing a scene, I don't really think much about what's surrounding the characters, so those are details I have to consciously add in after the first draft.
10. First fandom you wrote for?
I honestly can't remember if it was Star Wars (original trilogy) or X-Files because it was so long ago. Probably like circa 1995?

hey! i’m not exactly sure how it works, but i’m currently reading keep calm and i want to log it onto my goodreads but it’s not available there. i did notice some of your other fics are on there though. is there any way u could add keep calm to goodreads? :)
hello! thanks for reading my fic.
i haven't added any of my fics to goodreads, so it must be something that readers can do. as an author, i wouldn't have done it, though i don't mind people recording what they've read, so if you work out how to add it, please go ahead.

Making a pinned of my various links, because I'm kinda shifting where I hang out these days. Between the changes in site structure and culture, the endless moderation issues, and the vocally pro-israel CEO I just don't really have the motivation to be here as often, or feel that I'm getting what I want to out of this site the way I used to. I don’t feel i can really enjoy using a site i’m honestly on just to blog about my hobbies and shit when this is the situation here and when so many other people who are just trying to hang out, make art, or share resources are being harassed or kicked. I'll be around here still and post some art and whatnot til I get my neocities blog up and running, but I think I’m phasing out, lads.
However, some of you aren't half bad, so I'd love to keep up if anyone's so inclined! Feel free to add me anywhere whether we're mutuals or not! I use the same username pretty much everywhere for consistency.
Personal Neocities website : under slow construction, since I'm learning html from the ground up, but I plan to blog, post art and various projects, etc.! I think this is where I'll be the most, so please feel free to hang out or watch me fumble through building the thing in the meantime. Frankly I think we should just all make neocities sites.
Cohost: I'll probably be here more than any other socials! art, unfiltered stupid thoughts, etc., (so pretty much like here lol)
Ao3, if you want to be jumpscared when I post fic once every 2 years
My discord @ is such_a_fellow5832
SpaceHey: an absolutely delightful classic MySpace clone. I'm not on there too often but I highly recommend it.
StoryGraph: if you're the type who likes to follow peoples' Goodreads, I guess. This doubles as a plug for StoryGraph, which is miles better than Goodreads and isn't run by Amazon.
anyway free palestine, fuck capitalist internet, etc.
