My only gripe with the trans character brackets polls that have both canonically trans characters & characters with popular trans hcs is just.

Usually it’s whichever character is more popular that will win & that’s understandable. And I LOVE trans hcs for characters so much, BUT it just feels wrong when a character who is canonically trans loses to a character who is not.

My Rant...

I rarely come on here anymore but I just wanted to say my piece on this infuriating election and the way Britain is run.

I’m not sorry and I have a lot to say so bear with me.

This all started because of the referendum. A referendum which showed up just how discordant and split the country truly is. I do not agree with the result and am very upset we are leaving the EU.

All I have heard though since the results came out, have been politicians calling it the “will of the people”. Ok. A small majority voted us out. But that’s right. A SMALL majority.

And that was only of the people who actually voted.

There a many of those who couldn’t vote (because of age restrictions) or wouldn’t vote for whatever reasons they told themselves, and those who did vote for remain, who did not want to leave the EU. In my books that far out numbers the people who voted leave.

It is not the “will of the people” if the majority of the country didn’t vote for it. That is a small sector, just like a lot of the politics in this country has been about lining the pockets of the wealthy, the 5% of our population who do anything they can to better their own lives and damn the consequences it has on others.

I wish people were more generous and thoughtful. More considerate of the people they share their lives with. Believe it or not your life doesn’t just affect your own. You come into contact with countless people every time you go to work, or school, or even just go for a walk. How do you know that the smile you gave that one random person didn’t make their day? Because it could have. People’s actions have an impact in the smallest ways and the biggest. Some are just more noticeable.

Especially by those who hold power in parliament. The term “holding power” is distasteful and it’s so controlling. But that’s unfortunately the society we live in. Where there will always be those who think just because they are well off or own a company think they have more rights to things like education or healthcare than the rest of us.

The whole, “private versus state” thing is ridiculous divide and actually gets in the way of education. Parents who say “I’m paying for a better education for my child.” are actually saying “I’m paying for white boards or more resources to be pumped into the school.” That’s not an education. That just fancy toys. An education is when you learn something. When you actually come away from that day of sitting in classrooms inspired by something a teacher said or what you read or something that proved to you, yes you can do that thing you were struggling with. That won’t happen by throwing more money at it and shoving all kids into the same way of teaching and testing. The best teachers I had were ones who had a dialogue with the students. Where we were able to question the text books and engage with it ourselves. OK I was a shy student who didn’t feel confident enough to share my views and this post is hard for me to make but here I am.

Now onto the election and the person who calls herself the leader of Britain.

She stands there talking about working together and providing stability, when the only thing her government has done, has separated this country and made so many u-turns I’m surprised parliament hasn’t fallen down into the Thames. She hasn’t wanted to engage or debate or trust the public with the truth.

She keeps hiding behind statements and the party line, just like so many politicians have before. Now I don’t agree with some things Corbyn says either. Like his views on Brexit but we aren’t voting for one person we are voting for the party.

May is a poor example of a leader and much of what she says does not stack up. Alot of wwhat the party stands for is truly shocking and is saddening to see how it is still in today’s politics. Serving the interests of the better off in a hope that it will magically get the population more money is not a stable or even workable frame of economics. It doesn’t happen like that. Hasn’t happened. The rich get richer and hell to the rest.

The media is just as guilty for misleading people. And I have never been more ashamed of the BBC. The national broadcaster and they keep hushed up on what the conservatives are doing but any other party and they line them up in the firing line.

Teresa May says she is doing what she is doing for the people.

To which I say to her, really?

Look around.

Are the children who’s parents can’t afford to get them new school uniform or lunches because you keep cutting their benefits and rising taxes being looked after?

Are the elderly in dire need of care and attention getting the support they need?

Are those ill and ailing people in hospitals who in recent years have had to wait the longest time for care which should be readily available feeling like they are being cared for at all?

Are the people who provide these services getting the resources they need?

Not from what I have seen, read or heard.

How can she stand there and say her plans are stable and providing a future to protect us when she herself has voted on issues to block progression, to block support getting to those who need it.

The facts are out there that she doesn’t support the lgbtq community, that she doesn’t support our elderly, that she doesn’t support our children. So how can she stand in front of the country and promise to look after ‘the people’ when she refuses to acknowledge a majority of the population.

And when she does in her speeches, it’s to use as a point against labour. She brings up hashed old arguments from Camerons government, from Blairs government.

OK labour hasn’t always been great and there are still issues within the party that need to be addressed. But I have never felt a more relieving breath of fresh air than when I first heard Corbyn speak. For once there wasn’t a politician who said, the Tories do this, the tories do that. He spoke about what the issues were and how they would be addressed.

Like I said before there are some things I do not agree with him on but when will you ever agree with some one on every single thing.

I just want May to take a step back and really think in what way is she representative of anyone who has any loving, generosity in their hearts, who would put others before themselves . Leaving the EU is not progressive. Taking money away is not progressive. Excluding members of our society is not progressive.

All these stupid political borders and separations we have on this planet.

A show I watch, that I implore you all to watch, Sense8 is one of the most beautiful and uplifting pieces of drama I have ever seen on screen. It has representation and diversity. And in its second season has a really powerful speech about who some one is.

Who am I? Do you mean where I’m from? What I one day might become? What I do? What I’ve done? What I dream? Do you mean … what you see or what I’ve seen? What I fear or what I dream? Do you mean who I love? Do you mean who I’ve lost? Who am I?

I guess who I am is exactly the same as who you are. Not better than, not less than. Because there is no one who has been or will ever be exactly the same as either you or me.”

We are one planet, one species which has to live together. If our governments truly wanted the best for us there would be no restrictions placed on minorities or the freedom of movement.

If you look at someone and think they don’t belong because they are different, than you are one of the worst types of people.

Difference is what makes humans so amazingly beautiful. And our capacity to love and embrace that difference is breathtaking.

A human being is a human being whether they are black, asian, white, gay, bi, straight, trans, female, male and all other variations.

If you let hatred in, you’ve already lost. If you let disrespect in, why should someone respect you?

Everyone should be free to be who they are, wherever they are.

Our governments need to change. They need to change to reflect the people who live now.

So when Teresa May stands up and opens her mouth, how can she possibly stand there and say she is working for the people when nothing she has done reflects that.

I don’t have any impact on many people’s lives and I doubt this will reach anyone beyond this space, but to anyone who will read this, there needs to be a way we can make a difference. Differences make us who we are and fuel a progressive society.

The whole Brexit disaster shouldn’t have happened. After campaigning for Scotland to stay, united, stronger together it was ridiculous that the next thing to happen was to shut the EU out. I’m not surprised Scotland wants to leave England again.

The whole point of the EU was to bring peace between our countries after the horrific world wars. Look at our world today. We are breaking apart at the seams. Yes the wars in Iraq and Syria predate Brexit but we don’t have to look far to know who to blame for that. If anything this is a time to work closer together not apart. So again how can Teresa May say she will be the one to bring stability to the country when it was her party that tore it apart.

So go and vote. Use that vote that so many have fought for in our past. Use the privilege of the vote this country has to make a stand against those who want to silence us.

We are better together. We only have to prove it.

Cole is such a messy thot, Kevin is that but without being remotely good at the game, Arika and Julia are best friends IRL and 1000% will be working together. Louise is a fucking saint but that also terrifies me because I can't do shit against her without being a terrible person. At least Madison is really down to earth and chill even thought I've known her for two days and met her on Club Penguin. I don't know Bryce, Noah or the other one so they're 1000% my go to people right now.

I literally hate this whole tribe so much, and I'm going into this game with the mindset that we are losing every single immunity and reward. When I saw the first three cast reveal posts i prayed i wasnt on the orange tribe. i actually believed and god, and asked him for forgiveness for all the sins ive committed and pleaded my case to on why i shouldnt be on this tribe. but, alas here i am. so its time to play i guess I'm not good with social game, and thats why i usually fail at survivor. I always have a good first few days, but then its just me being inactive and skirmming my way until my inevitable premerge eviction. But in this game im literally going to pull all the stops i can. I will start to set up my reputation as a good survivor player. And it starts here. Even if nobody pms me I will take this game by storm. Meaning right now its getting good with the influential such as Jay and Drew. They have a few buds on the other tribe, and working with them can only help me when we hit merge. i'm also going to keep Chrissa tight because she is just such a good ally, but its also going to be hard to protect her as she is such a shit competitor. But thats all plans let me talk about to cast Cameron: Love cameron our last org played together we made final 3, and he asked me to cut him. I will keep him under my sphere of influence especially since he said he isnt familiar with this group of players Chrissa: I also love chrissa. She can be a little annoying sometimes, but she always has good intentions. She is fiercely loyal, and thats something great to have in an ally because numbers are more important in survivor than big brother Constance: I don't like him. I want nothing to do with him. The closest association I ever had with constance was us two being on the same cast reveal post. And I'm far more than content with that interaction. He's from facebook, and that means he is going to stir the pot when there isn't any stirring necessary. He is going to make a move just to make a move, and if I cut him earlier the better. But if I can work with him, and test and experience how he plays this game. I do think it would be more entertaining Drew: I have good relations with him but really havent played an org with him. I have no intentions on backstabbing him especially in this cast. I do think he will either slide into the shadows, or emerge as the person calling the shots for this tribe. Jay: Same as Drew tbh. They're together as a duo, so anything one does the other will follow. I'm not going to beef with him Jill: I haven't met Jill before this. but she is the driest person i have pm'd in a while. Me and her are having forced small talk, but i dont want to lose connections with her yet. I'm hoping she isnt well liked or well received so she can leave. My tribe is probably going to be useless. Which means that we have to turn it OUT for immunity. Randy, Roxy and I are all attempting to make flags. I have faith in Randy's abilities... roxy, not so much. But she does have a good artistic ability, so I hope she turns it out for this. We can hope. We can hope.

I really don't like my tribe but I think I like the other tribe even less just from the few people I've encountered before or at the very least heard about. If anything though that's great for me because I have all of two or three people I remotely care about so I have no issues with taking people out.

Anyway. Here's some tea. Roxy thinks I talk too much about being in the hospital. Sorry sweaty, I'm disabled, I'm gonna be in the hospital. And I have the right to talk about whatever I want. ANYWAY, Constance, the literal loml, gave me this tea so that's great. I LOVE HIM. So we made an alliance of me and drew, because drew has a "bad reputation" (sweetie, you were the one making tasteless comments night one, let's not get it twisted here!!) We talk a bunch, we have good laughs, and we head to bed. I went into this round wanting to target Roxy anyway, but she just went painted a bullseye on her back for me!

This first round felt so nostalgic to me, in the sense that being gone from these games for a while allowed me to step back and revitalize the way that I play games. In the beginning of the game, I felt an immediate connection with Cameron. He is someone who has a really nice, personable outlook as a person and I could see myself becoming really good allies and friends outside of this game. I also really enjoy Drew, Sam and Jill. Drew: I was excited to see him in this game because we just met a few days before the game started because he flirted with me a little and I thought he was a nice guy in general. I haven't had the chance of getting to know him all that well yet, though he stated to me that he will not write my name down throughout the game when we were first added to the tribe, so I hope that stays as promised. Sam: We both come from the same community but we both individually transferred to Tumblr at different points in time. I don't know him well enough to say he could be someone I stay with for the long run, but I have had a few calls with him and he seems pretty straightforward about what he wants in this game and where he wants to go. I'll leave it at that for now. Jill: She is literally everything that is me. "I'm going to see my sugar daddy," "I am eating a whole barbecque chicken pizza to myself," "I need money" I LOVE THIS CHICK! We need to align and become friends for sure because I can't see myself without her! One smaller relationship I have is with Chrissa and that will require some work on my part, both game wise and friend wise included. We had a rough past on a personal note but we are working our ways around it to become friends again on a personal level, not even on a game level. I feel like if Chrissa is able to handle herself in this game with me the way she did in Arrakis ages ago, she should be good to go with me! The people I really don't talk with or connect with right now are Jay, Roxy, Randy and Regan. - Jay just hasn't spoken a lot, but that may be subject to change? - Regan has this huge negative perception that everyone has given about her and I'm honestly not about holding past games or whatnot against anyone. If she is as crazy or as ballistic as people say she is then that will happen on it's own accord. - Randy is..Randy. I'm not really putting a whole lot here. He comes off extremely weird to me and I'm not feeling it. - Roxy and Randy both share the same trait they don't mind expressing: their messy players. I'm not one to want to play with people who are going to knowingly make things difficult for me in this game moving forward. I feel like getting out people who tend to be wildcards for my individual game will boost my ability to better know the personalities I surround myself with. Intended Target: Roxy Reason: I had a call with Sam and discussed some feelings about the challenge for the flag that had taken place. In my individual opinion, expressing the idea of putting in effort for a challenge and then doing the opposite of what you said you would do, shows a false sense of sportsmanship and that bothers me. Roxy said she would make a temporary flag as a concept, but never did and constantly said "I'm lazy, so I don't want to do it." Adding on to the reason above, I was asked if I wanted to be added to a call with Sam by Roxy as they were both speaking with each other and I said I wouldn't mind joining. We both tried asking Roxy about potential ideas for the vote off and Roxy made it clear that Regan would be too easy to get rid of. Then came the critical point of the conversation where Roxy would bring up Cameron and Drew's names, stating that Drew apparently has a bad or weird reputation in the Tumblr community of games, but this is COSTA RICA not any other game. She also stated in regards to Cameron word for word that, "I just think Cameron talks about themselves too much in the main chat, and that brings people to feel for them more, and that makes them look bad" and this was in relation to when Cameron stated he was in the hospital. I found that to be extremely bothersome because otherwise, Cameron has never talked about himself constantly or anything like that. My intentions are to pull myself, Drew, Cameron, Jill, Sam and Jay to vote out Roxy. I started the idea when I asked Sam on call blatantly and he agreed and I calmly took it by step. That's all I have folks! I hope this works out and if for some odd reason I go home first, well then it was fun while it lasted! 

Okay so I need to catch yall up on how shit can turn into bliss SO reward I literally ate shit in. i scored to lowest out of everybody in the whole cast. Making myself inferior to competition flops like Chrissa. So that wasnt really well. However my soccial game has been stepping up. Even though im lacking a little bit in the pm part of my game. I have been having good chemistry with literally everybody in the tribe chat. I have also led us in the flag immunity. So me and Cameron made a flag. And the tribe had to pick which one, and it was pretty set even. I do think the end result wouldve been the same but it was nice to see people on my side and supporting me. So then we lose the tribal flag, and im literally yeeted away from the tribe. Which is really good since with this tribal vote i wouldve been thrown under the bus. allegedely roxy has been throwing names around, and had i stayed in the tribe it might of been my name that was thrown around since it was my flag that lost. so im happy to avoid the drama of the first vote. but now that people have bonded since roxy's polarization im starting to become more outcasted. I just need go stronger for immunities and amp up my social game even more. Since ive been to the other tribe I have a feeling on whats happening. Cole is aligned with all them bitches. Literally Madison Louise are people he's played with before, and when we talked in pms he said this tribe is full of his friends. He is very safe in his tribe which is really nice. Since the League of Gays need to work together at the merge : ~)

Munday

I didn't post a Munday last week because I was too upset about Dodger, so here's the Munday I was going to post then, which is mostly about my vacation.

- There was a little white boy with red hair by the pool who was speaking Spanish. Fabian is real, you guys.

- I saw real live sea cucumbers for the first time! There had been a storm and it had stranded some on the beach. I threw them back, of course!

- Florida deer are smaller than regular white tail deer, like large dogs, and ADORABLE. Some were right near our car when we drove through a park! - How u kno ur high femme: packing 3 purses for a weekend trip

- If I were an animal, I'd be a hamster. Not a rat. Rats are far more social than I am. Hamsters, like me, are cute but sleep all day, only care about food, and hate everyone. Okay, I don't hate EVERYONE, maybe I'm more a chinchilla---they're very sensitive and very selective about people, and they're not unfriendly but also are not “cuddly” types like rats.

- When we went here last year, I went to a restaurant on my own while my parents did other things. The waiter very clearly thought I was underage (the hotel staff did as well, they didn't give me the pass for drinks like my dad got until he told them no she really is over 18---I'm 27 you guys) so he was really nice to me and talked about things to go see and stuff. I enjoyed the food so I came back this year, and once again I was solo and while I got a different server (who was wearing a FANTASTIC 90s-chic choker + velvet dress combo) the waiter from last year saw me and came up to me and was like “you're here alone again?” and basically acted like a dad, it was a very sweet.

- I've got my next LARP character planned for once I get settled with my current one, but at some point I also wanna just...play a super sleazy guy and flirt with all the girls. I am predictable, no?

- Okay, so while on vacation I got the phone game “Vampire Prelude: We Eat Blood and All Our Friends Are Dead” to play in the car, and I recommended it here in an OOC post. That said, I have found out some information that I hadn't been aware of when I purchased it. The artist and writer, Zak Sabbath, is an established serial harasser. Pretty gross, from what I understand. There's like...so much out there on the matter that you should probably just Google his name if you want details.

There were also some very legitimate complaints online about one of the characters, a vampire named Avery  who is one of your allies. She's a transgender woman who works in porn, and she hunts by calling uber drivers. If they're a man, she gets in with them, flirts, informs them she's trans, and asks if they want a handjob. If they've been dicks or said they voted for Trump or something like that, she feeds from them (I can't remember if she kills them or not, she gives you good information on how NOT to kill someone while feeding, which you didn't know how to do before) But if they were nice dudes, she just gives them a handy and sends them on their way. So, it's a very sexual portrayal of a literally predatory trans woman who may also (depending if she kills them or not) technically be a serial killer. Which is about as cliché as you can get in terms of negative fear-mongering portrayals of trans women.

And in most contexts I would be no-holds-barred pissed at that. But in the context of this game, you (the player) and ALL your allies are like that. Even after you learn from Avery how not to kill when you feed, you still murder a dude at a party because you were hungry (though you kind of have to because you CAN'T follow her advice, you're a thinblood and don't have fangs so you have to kill with a knife) Your other allies are Alfonso, Morgan, and Izzy. Alfonso is a tattoo-faced punk who kills cops for food, fun, and politics. Morgan, also a trans woman, was a vegan in life and feeds on vegans now. Your friend Izzy is the only one who doesn't kill anyone, I don't think, but he accidentally makes a guy into his slave and is fine with that. Everyone is awful, it's just the villains are even worse. Much like the Bloodlines PC game in that regard, actually---no good guys, including you. So like, on the one hand, a sexualized transgender predator is a super horrible trope. But on the other hand I'm not sure it's the same when in context, she's not remarkable/unusual for that, and is in fact one of the “good” guys, and there's also another trans woman who isn't portrayed at all in the same stereotyped sensationalized way (though technically still a predator because she's a vampire too but again, EVERYONE is a vampire and not the nice kind) so I feel like context matters.

But I'd still be iffy AT THE LEAST about it except that the other writer BESIDES Zak Sabbath is Sarah Horrocks, a transgender woman herself, who responded to the matter by saying that she personally finds “bad bitch” types like Avery, be they trans women or cis women, to be empowering, and a lot of personal stuff about why she wrote Avery how she did that I think is better told in her own words, so you can read the conversation on her blog here: http://mercurialblonde.tumblr.com/post/157525001658 I think that her being written by a trans woman makes a huge difference, definitely, than if a cis person had done it. #TMIishTuesday #46 - The Trumpet - But why?

Hey there mighty people of the internet! And welcome to issue #46 of #TMIishTuesday - my weekly Tumblr post about what goes through my weird mind and what you guys want to know more about. It can be something very personal, it can be something political, it can be completely pointless - but in 99.9 % of the cases, it involves opinions. And mine as well. // Last week I talked about make-up. On girls, but more about it on guys: Society's general perception of it, some male YouTubers who look ACE with make-up, and my opinion on whether or not men should or should not wear make-up. Not telling you to read it, but… YOU SHOULD! // Disclaimer: I can't treat certain people the same as everyone else. People who just disrespect of groups of people for one, and only one, reason: Belonging to this group. And by saying this, I do exactly that, I know... And I’m still gonna do it. You know, if they were at least a little bit open-minded or didn't treat people like they're sh*t, I'd respect that. I wouldn't cheer for them, but everyone has different opinions - and that's awesome! But I won't respect people who hate on others for having one attribute that the haters don't like: Gender, sexuality, race, color of skin, this list goes on and on. Okay, so if you're not living on the Moon (and even then), you'll most definitely have noticed that the U. S. have a new president. For the reasons stated above, I will not call him by his name, but rather refer to this person as "the Trumpet". Not much of a difference anyway, right? And now you know who I'm talking about, we can start this post. Did I mention that it's about reasons why this person could even become president? Oh, I didn't? Well… Now you know! There are obviously lots of reasons why the Americans eligible to vote voted like they did. I pick three that seem most important to me.  1. The devil vs. the deep blue sea With the elections coming up one thing that I read a lot in polls and assessments of the candidates is: "I can't possibly choose between two inacceptable candidates." As expected, Democrats and Republicans had voted two extremely opposing candidates to go for president - Clinton: the impersonated establishment who still lives on her father's achievements as president and who is rather conservative for a Democrats candidate. And - the Trumpet: the impersonated American dream: business man, self-made millionaire, the exact opposite of the establishment, who bluntly told his opinions on basically everything, even when not asked about it. And I had the impression that people didn't feel that ANY of the two would be a good president. But given the American political situation, with only these two parties standing a real chance to win the election, most people did choose to distribute their votes between the devil and the deep blue sea - or simply didn't turn up to the polling stations. 2. Jobs vs. trade There is a common misconception that many Europeans might have fallen for: The Trumpet's only focus seemed to be on immigration politics. Constructing a wall at the U. S.-Mexican border and getting rid of TPP* and TTIP* trade agreements, before the latter was even signed. These seemed to be the Trumpet's only political goals. At least if you believed European media. Oh my, were we wrong! The Trumpet actually got lots of votes in the Mid West states promising people to get jobs. Of course that's part of the getting-rid-of-TPP-and-TTIP deal. But that's not what was the most important aspect of this issue. The U. S. still suffer from the global economic crisis that was sparked by the failure of the banking industry in the late 2000s. The most important promise of the Trumpet was jobs. Jobs, jobs, and more jobs. And, please correct me, if I'm wrong, dear Americans, but to me it looks like most Americans don't bother too much about what is going on in the world, if the U. S. is not involved. Am I wrong in assuming that? And to be honest, it's looked to me like that over the last few years/decades. Rather, you guys are more focussed on your own country. You know, I'm not a big fan of overly demonstrated patriotism. But it makes sense that you voted the Trumpet then: He promises to get you all into jobs again. Sure, that will work. But there'll also be massive inflation, if he basically closes down foreign trade and goes back to producing everything domestically. But people don't seem to see that. Or they ignore it. Well, if you don't see it, let me give you a quick tour, okay? The Trumpet wants to put import tariffs into place again against any country out there. Sure, most still have import tariffs - the EU certainly isn’t the norm - but over the last couple decades there has been worldwide understanding that we should thrive for lower tariffs and less trade restrictions. In 1947 32 nations signed the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) which wanted to "reduce tariffs and other trade barriers" among the signing countries. Over the years, with globalisation hitting in more and more, more nations joined the agreement and tariffs and trade restrictions got less and less. Based on the work that had been done under the GATT framework, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) was established by 123 nations in 1995. A huge part of this hard work is at stake now that one of the biggest economies of the world threatens to leave the WTO. As I'm typing this, the Trumpet has just announced that the U. S. will not ratify TPP. A small step for a Trumpet, but a huge one for humankind. Anyway, I'm drifting off. And the effects of the U. S. leaving the WTO and other international trade policies could fill another #TMIishTuesday. Let me know, if you are interested in that! * TPP - Trans-Pacific Partnership * TTIP - Transatlatic Trade & Investment Partnership 3. Ego vs. opinions This might even be the most important factor that got him the crucial votes in the swing states* which ultimately led to the Trumpet winning the entire election. All the way during his candidacy - in the internal Rep duels as well - he has been very straightforward about basically anything he represented. He made clear his goals basically on day 1 of the Rep internal campaign and, from what I can tell, he sticked to them. All this "The U. S. don't need any foreign trade" thing, all this "I don't give a f*ck about minorities" hatred, all this "I'm the king of the world" behaviour - it was there from the very beginning. And even if Clinton didn't change her campaign too much, too - just by not letting anyone exert ANY influence on his campaign, the Trumpet really presented the "I am me, I won't change for others" attitude. When most candidates try to take on some viewpoints of the other candidates of their party to rule out competitors, he didn't do that. Cause he didn't need to. The whole "I won't change for others" thing was already bearing fruit. Many Americans are apparently still looking for a father figure to look up to. And that's EXACTLY what they got. ...Although you might argue that someone, who is as bold as the Trumpet, is not exactly a father figure… Granted, but he's definitely "the strong man" the people were looking for. And I guess the Americans just thought Obama didn't take measures drastic enough to cope with the (perceived as well as existing) problems the U. S. were faced with. * swing state = "a state that could reasonably be won be either the Democratic or Republican presidential candidate" Finally: Judging from the younger history, it just made sense that a Republican was elected president: The last three presidents all took two terms in office - and after each 8 year period a president of the other "big" party - Democrats and Republicans - was elected into office. Right, I'll leave you with that. This post turned out way more subjective than I planned to. But I never promised that. And remember how I started this post?
