“Some” ✦ Bolbbalgan4
“Power (R3HAB Remix)” ✦ EXO
I tend to listen to one thing over and over again until I get tired of it/move on, so this was kind of hard lol. Currently, I’m really into that Pewdiepie remix and whatever’s on my K-pop-inspired, Sue x Sean playlist (songs 3-14), since I’m really invested in The Middle and Donasue rn :’pp SEVENTEEN’s “Pinwheel” has also been on constant repeat atm, I’ve been listening to this stellar piano cover of it as well.
I’d like to tag: @inatq @barbieomoviegeek @jokerslight @montsseok @noeedes @vitamnsikk @shinwhoohoo

Since you seem to be emotionally mature, can I ask a really dumb question? I've heard that when something bothers you, you're supposed to talk it out with someone and let it out before you bottle it up and it grows into something worse. But then when people DO try to talk it out, they get yelled at for "whining" about stupid stuff. So which is it? Are we supposed to talk out our issues or not? I'm missing something here.
You think I’m emotionally mature XDXD well, I’m not exactly in a position to judge that for myself… So, I wouldn’t know. :P Thank you, though.
So, to me… “whiny” is “unsolicited complaining with a captive audience and won’t accept advice”.
If someone voluntarily said they are willing to listen to you vent, it is not whining. If people are free and able to walk away from you/scroll by without repercussions (eg. “vent posts”) it is not whining. If you have a need to voice your problem to a particular person order to obtain a solution, it is not whining.
Whining: walking around the house loudly complaining about how stressed you are and everything sucks, and when people (who are busy/not interested) try to offer suggestions, shoot them down and tell them they don’t understand and you just want to vent (DON’T DO THIS EVERYONE HATES IT AND WILL HATE YOU FOR RUINING THEIR MOOD) (IT’S NOT FAIR TO INVOLUNTARILY SUBJECT EVERYONE ELSE TO YOUR EMOTIONS)
Not whining: “Hey I have a problem I wanted your advice” “Hey do you mind listening to me go off for a minute about this crazy thing that just happened” “Hey guys vent post under the cut” “Can I just rant to you for a second if you’re not busy” “I need your help with something”
Don’t forget to take the other person into consideration! Having you just dump a bunch of stuff onto them at random may be an emotional strain that they need to prepare themselves in order to deal with! Don’t just “fill the air”! Be directed and specific and think about what you are going to say before you speak so you don’t hurt somebody’s feelings. Be considerate of what the other person’s role is in the conversation!
