Something i’ve noticed is that people can’t have nuanced characters, unless they’re a villain they need their favourite characters to be morally good and nice otherwise they’re the worse character ever, even if they are a villain they hold them to these standards.
I also noticed that it’s only men, which is not much of a surprise anymore but come on.
Somebody likes Bakugou from bnha? Oh no he’s not a teenage bully with a murder count, he’s just misunderstood and he really wants to be better 🥺, guys i promise he’s trying he acts that way because he’s insecure.
Somebody likes Valka from httyd? Oh no you cant like her because…. She was kidnapped by a dragon and then abandoned her family by never going back… even though everybody in the village literally hated her and she didn’t belong there? But no she’s a servant for her husband and son she can’t think for herself, that means she’s a morally bad character and nobody is ever allowed to like her.
Wdym you can’t like a character thats a bit mean? God forbid that woman commit murder. People either try to justify why the character is bad, or they banish them to the “dni if you like this character” corner
