Dominic’s eyes stared daggers at the ceiling, dozens– no, millions of thoughts racing through his head.

Thoughts about a certain pink-haired boy clouded his mind. His soft skin, his gentle voice, those circle-frame glasses that fit his face shape oh-so perfectly. He couldn’t seem to take his mind off of him.

Off of Elliot Thornton.

Oh my goodness, what is he going to do?

It was almost clear as daylight that Elliot didn’t like him back. It was crystal clear that whenever a red-headed girl entered the greenhouse, his eyes would light up and he would almost immediately perk up at the sight of her. At the sight of the pink-haired devil herself, Millicent Brooks.

How Elliot would brighten up at the sound of her, how a pink powder seeped onto his cheeks whenever they made the smallest bit of contact. How he even talked about her, admiration thick in his voice, his love for the girl painfully obvious.

Dominic sighed in defeat. Just his luck.

The animal lover tucked himself into bed, trying to stop his stupid thoughts from ruining his sleep schedule. He failed, still thinking about this guy who’s the president of this stupid little gardening club.

It hurt him.

He knew that even if he was the prettiest boy in the world, Elliot wouldn’t even look at him like that.

There will always be a brighter star in the center of his universe.

My tmf family headcanons because I’m bored and I’ve been thinking about it for the past few days

I’m only gonna do the ones I’ve thought about the most (so Jake, Hailey + Zander, Henry, Drew, and Zoey) in this one (because I’m going to ramble…a LOT). I’ll do the others in another post. If anyone has any requests those will be my top priority I promise

Alright let’s get into it!! (Cut bc like I said I’m going to ramble a lot lol)

First up is JAKE!!

He lives with his mom, younger brother (Milo), and his dog, Oreo! His dad unfortunately passed away while working as a firefighter when he was 8.

He has a good relationship with his mom, although he doesn’t see her often due to her being a trauma nurse and working a lot. She used to be around more but since he and Milo have gotten older she decided that it would be good for her to take on more shifts. She always tries to get off work for anything important in her son’s lives though!

Jake was 5 when Milo was born, and was extremely enamored by the idea of a little brother. He took very quickly to the role and there are many photos and videos of a little Jake Sterling running around entertaining his brother. Unfortunately Jake started to withdraw from everyone (including Milo) during middle school ☹️. He stopped that when he got to high school though and him and Milo are still pretty close!! Even if Jake finds him more annoying than ever. Tis the curse of the oldest sibling.

Okay next is HAILEY!! and ZANDER!!

They live with Hailey’s dad (Michael), Zander’s mom (Shannon), each other (obviously), and their little sister (Bethany).

Hailey’s biological mom died giving birth to her, so when she was six and her dad introduced her to Shannon she was like “oh hey i have a mom now!!” and that was that.

Zander…was a bit more complicated.

We know his dad left him and his mom at a young age (probably around 5) and he has trouble trusting people because of that. All of this to say…he did not like nor trust Michael when he met him.

Shannon and Michael had already been dating for about a year before Shannon decided to introduce Michael and Hailey to Zander. She had hoped that by introducing both of them at the same time that Zander might not trust Michael completely but at least trust that he wasn’t just going to up and abandon them like his biological father did.

Didn’t work.

He liked Hailey, but he did not like Michael. He didn’t start liking him until after Shannon married him, when him and Hailey were 8. He didn’t start fully trusting him until after Bethany was born, when he was 10.

He likes and trusts him fully now! He still calls him Michael, because he just got used to it and thought it would be weird randomly start calling him Dad lol.

They both LOVE Bethany. Both of them were super excited to be older siblings (although Hailey insists she was ALREADY an older sibling, and yes that one month, two weeks, and one day counts thank you very much) and they are just the sweetest oldest siblings ever.

Alright next is my man HENRY!!

He’s the middle of 5 children! He has two older sisters, one of which is 15 years older and the other is 4 years older than him, and he has 2 younger siblings (a brother and a sister) who are twins and 8 years younger.

His oldest sister was not planned, and was the result of dumb teens fooling around without protection. Unfortunately she followed in their footsteps and got pregnant with Faye and Dominic when she was 16…her parents were not pleased.

Henry has no idea that Faye and Dom are even related to him, let alone his niece and nephew, since he never talks to his oldest sister. She was essentially excommunicated by their parents, and the only reason he even knows he HAS an older sister is because his second older sister was around and has vague memories (mostly lots of arguments) of the whole fiasco.

He doesn’t know what happened to his oldest sister, and his parents just say vague things like “she made her own choices” and nothing more than that. It’s one of the few things that irritates him about his parents.

Other than that, he has a great relationship with them!! His dad actually introduced him to anime, and they watch it together. They sometimes convince his mom that it’s worth her time and she watches with them. He loves his older sister (well, more specifically he loves ANNOYING her), and he loves his younger siblings. He’s the one they go to if they want to get away with something, and they tease him about the fact that his younger brother is already “approaching” (he’s still about 7 inches away) his height.

(Sometimes he does wonder about his elusive older sister, and why no one talks about her. He’s asked nearly everyone in the family. They all just go quiet and look awkward. He wonders what she did that was so horrible that no one is allowed to talk about her. Did she murder someone? Was she abusive? Did she threaten someone? Or did she not do anything wrong? Are his parents worse people than he thought? Is the whole family bad?)

Him and Liam have been best friends since kindergarten, and often go on family vacations with each other. They’ve only had one real fight, when they were 9. They don’t even remember what it was about, but it was bad enough that they swore they’d never talk to each other again. Henry’s sister laughed and said “You’ll be friends again by the end of the week.”

He held out 2 weeks just to spite her.

(Okay wow that got a lot more writer-y than I expected it to. Can you tell I’ve thought about this a lot?)

Okay anyway onto the one, the only, Mr. Family Trauma himself DREWWWW!!

He legally lives with his mom and his dad.

Truthfully, he lives by himself.

His parents just don’t live where he lives. He lives in Rosemeadow, they live…wherever the hell they are.

His parents never wanted children. He was born to keep appearances within the social circles they were in, and nothing more.

He had a revolving door of nannies. He used to act out for attention (still does, sometimes), and a lot of them just couldn’t handle it. Couldn’t handle him.

He doesn’t have any siblings, but he does have cousins. A lot of them. Most of them are spread out across the States, but some of them still live in The Philippines. He’s only visited a couple times, when he was young, but he thinks he always misses it. (Yes I am pushing my Filipino Drew headcanon on you what are you gonna do about it)

(Okay I actually don’t have much to say about Drew that I thought I would lol. Ig since his family situation is pretty clear cut but the effects that it has on him is what’s complicated. Maybe I’ll get into it later)

Alright now onto the final victim character of the night, ZOEYYYY!!

She lives with her parents. Her older sister moved out and never looked back. Zoey both admires and resents her for that.

Her mom is a “functioning” addict. Her dad’s an alcoholic. Neither of them raised her.

Her older sister was her caregiver, and she made it clear that she resented the fact she had to take care of a child she was barely 7 years older than. Zoey understands.

Zoey’s mother encouraged her mean girl attitude. She found it funny. Her father didn’t care. Her sister just scoffs and rolls her eyes whenever Zoey starts.

She mostly avoids her parents. She doesn’t talk to them. They don’t talk to her. It’s fine.

She tries to talk to her sister, but she’s perpetually trapped in the “annoying little sister” role. Sometimes they have a genuine conversation. It’s gotten more common over the years, something which Zoey is grateful for.

Okay I think that’s all for now bc it’s now almost 11pm and I’m tired lol. I’ll probably come and edit some of these in the morning bc idk if I like some of them.

TMF Halloween Costumes Day Four: Dom as a squirrel because of course he’s a squirrel what else would he be?

Hey so uh about my Vampire AU… I still somehow have no clue what I want to do with the first chapter so uh… UH- DISTRACTION! DOM AND FAYE HEADCANONS BECAUSE THEY MAKE ME VIOLENT!!

💚Faye is brutally honest, whereas Dom has absolutely no issue lying if he thinks it’ll be for the better. It’s gotten to a point where he does it almost compulsively now. (This has definitely impacted him negatively in the past, but will he stop? HAH-)

🧡Despite me saying this, I feel like Dom can’t lie on command. He can do it impulsively, but if he’s specifically told to lie about something he struggles to keep a straight face. (This leads to a lot of people thinking he’s just as bad a liar as Faye when this really is not the case.)

💚Faye is easily overwhelmed by loud noise, and usually has to listen to music at a low volume. Dom, meanwhile, has to blast his as loudly as possible.

🧡I feel like they mostly listen to Indie stuff. I can’t really see them being into any main-stream artists.

💚Considering Dom’s comment about him and Faye wanting to be friends with Elliot for a while, I like to imagine that after they said goodbye to Elliot in the first spin-off episode, they high-fived and got super giddy. But then cut to two hours later and Dom’s pacing the room like: “oh my God, we overshared again he LITERALLY HATES US-”

🧡I’m sorry but there’s no way they both don’t have low-self esteem. (Dom’s: “We can be a bit annoying to be fair-” will forever live in my head rent-free until further elaborated on.)

💚Anyways, I feel like these two are always sharing their thoughts with one another, and even when they’re apart, they’ll still turn to where other would usually be with the intention of saying something, only to realize they’re not there and feel a little awkward afterwards.

🧡DO NOT SEPARATE. THEY DO NOT LIKE BEING SEPARATED.

💚They’ve probably tried to create their own language before. But they kept changing the rules of it so neither of them really understand it anymore.

🧡But they probably have a second, non-verbal language of just hand motions, expressions and straight up mind-reading.

💚They’ve probably tried to pass as one another at least once before. (And no one fell for it.)

🧡I like to think they both have DND-style OC’s they’re super invested in, but they don’t really do anything with them other than create increasingly complex lore and compare them with each other. (They’re always arguing over which one would win in a fight.)

💚Faye’s really sweet to everyone else, but I like to think she’ll bully Dom any chance she gets.

🧡I also feel like Faye likes giving Dom space buns because they look funny, but Dom’ll usually keep them in since they keep his bangs out of his face.

💚Faye loves platonic hand-holding.

🧡Dom probably collects random acorns and pinecones. (Thank you @ratkingnezu for randomly looking over my shoulder and suggesting this lol.)

💚They also probably have all sorts of knick-knacks resembling birds and rodents and insects scattered all around their room. (And they all have names and despite taking up so much space, Dom and Faye refuse to part with any of them.)

🧡They’re both hoarders. They’ll be going through all their stuff and find some random ribbon they took off a Christmas present and be like: “…but what if I NEED IT-” and then they’ll immediately forget about it like two days later.

💚Speaking of Christmas, I feel like they’d both hate Christmas music. (They hear Mariah Carey on the radio in November and suddenly they’re filled with dread.)

🧡I feel like these two would hate clothes shopping. If they ever needed anything, they’d probably just go to a Target or something.

💚Also, if they see anything that looks remotely soft in a store, they have to go and feel it.

🧡They probably hate coffee with a burning passion. (And I like to think they’re both juice-box addicts.)

💚I feel like Dom and Faye were the type of kids who weren’t allowed to have phones ‘til they were around 12-14, so up until then, they were probably just sent outside and told to be back before dinner. (Optional.)

🧡But quickly after Faye got a phone she got addicted to Instagram and now spends several hours scrolling each day.

💚These two probably prefer the company of animals over people, honestly. Neither of them understand people very well.

🧡Dom seems like the type of guy to be just a little bit obsessed with his friends. Like not even in a romantic way. He’s just… really clingy. (He’s probably not used to having someone other than Faye to talk to. So when he does find someone he sticks to them like glue.)

💚Meanwhile, I feel like Faye’s a lot more introverted. She’s more than comfortable being alone, and she doesn’t really mind that Dom’s technically her only friend. (All she really needs to be content is Dom and her spiders. Neither of which are going anywhere anytime soon.)

🧡I feel like Faye tends to go non-verbal whenever she’d overwhelmed or overstimulated. Whenever this happens, Dom’ll usually take her somewhere quiet, and hold her hand silently as she calms down.

💚She probably also has some noise-cancelling headphones she brings whenever she goes out to loud or crowded spaces.

🧡Meanwhile, Dom will do everything he can to mask and pretend he’s fine and he’ll literally be on the verge of a meltdown with tears streaming down his face all like: “No, no I’m fine, I just something in my eyes.”

Anyways Elm! Elliot and Dominic! We’re all familiar with these goobs! We love them! Time for my very- ahem, well-thought out explanation for this ship!

…Okay so I don’t actually have one. I have zero evidence for this beyond just me looking at Dom and being like “…Well that’s a little fruity.”

I mean-

I mean…

He’s a lil 💅 you know? Just a lil bit. Like those looks aren’t hetero. Those are homo eyes. 👀

I think the real reason I ship these two is because I like unrequited romance and Drew died in the new episode so I had to push that dynamic on someone else and-

And I like Dom! I like Dom a lot! You know what I do with characters I like? That’s right! I put them in a blender and crumble them up into pieces. (I am normal human I do not need to touch grass I promise.)

And I also really like the trope of ‘shy character who’s really insecure is a lot more charismatic and charming than they realize, thus leading to several characters falling head-over-heels for them’ because it kinda takes their insecurities and reverses them, showing that you can think of yourself one way but there will always be people out there who absolutely adore you, and want to stay by your side. And I mean Elliot already has Milly head-over-heels for him, and he also somehow manages to fluster Bradley every other interaction so we can say Brad’s somewhat a simp? Just throw Dom onto the pile and now you got yourself three Elliot simps!✨

Also, I think Elliot and Dom would have a really cute dynamic, with Dominic being all silly and impulsive and Elliot keeping him grounded. (Opposites attract my beloved.) And I think it’d be so cute to see Dom actually develop feelings and suddenly go from this charming little stinker to just an absolute awkward loser. Like laughing way too much and never knowing what to say. Sort of like Milly, but instead of going quiet he tries to say eighty things all at once and accidentally gets himself in a nervous laughing fit. Meanwhile Elliot’s oblivious and very clearly pining for Milly, so Dominic knows from the start he doesn’t have a chance with him, but it still hurts sometimes whenever Milly comes to the garden and Elliot practically gets hearts in his eyes as he shows Milly around. And he knows he should be happy for Elliot. He is happy for Elliot. But a part of him wishes Elliot could’ve found those feelings of love with him instead. And as a way to cope, he teases them. He pretends he doesn’t have a crush on Elliot and pretends to be just as supportive as the rest. Teasing them and telling them to get a room whenever they talk to each other. (Maybe he just doesn’t want to see how close they are.) He’s already accepted Milly and Elliot are going to get together, and all he can do is watch from the sidelines hoping his own feelings will simply fade with time.

Oh, and uh… I may or may not have already started a one-shot for this very idea. Might post it, might not. Who knows?

TDLR: I like Elliot but I like Dom more so I’m gonna give Dom an unrequited crush on Elliot.
