Rams edge the 49ers with field goals on Thursday Night Football.

It was rainy and ugly, but the Los Angeles Rams won over the San Francisco 49ers 12-16.

After the Rams came off their season-high 44 points vs. the Buffalo Bills, they managed to win still, scoring 12 points and no touchdowns

The half was a slump fest. Both teams combined for three first downs, two field goals, and seven punts. The 49ers and Rams were tied 3-3 at halftime.

In the 4th quarter, the Rams scored three field goals in their last three drives, giving themselves a 9-0; the Rams went 0-3 in the red zone, resulting in field goals.

Rams kicker Joshua Karty kicked from 48,23,27, and 29 yards. 

San Francisco did manage to hold Cooper Kupp without a catch-all night, but it wasn't enough. Puka Nacua caught seven passes for 97 yards, including a 51-yard grab in the third quarter that set the Rams up their third field goal. Kyren Williams finished with 108 rushing yards on 29 carries.  

The 49ers didn't have anything go their way tonight. They dropped two interceptions early in the game, and Deebo Samuels was held to three grabs for 16 yards and a dropped pass that would've been a 29-yard reception. It was a weird performance after he went on social media and stated that he wasn't getting the ball enough. 

Brock Purdy finished with 142 yards, completing 14 of his 31 passes. He was picked off by Darius Williams late in the fourth quarter, setting up the game-clinching field goal for the Rams. Issac Guerendo finished with 16 carries for 57 yards and four catches for 18 yards.

San Francisco got the ball back with 18 seconds left. Deebo Samules took the ball to the 41-yard line, and then special teams player  Charles Woods was called for a horse collar tackle that gave the 49ers an extra 15 yards. This was followed by Brock Purdy throwing an incompletion and getting sacked as time ran out. 

While the Rams move to 8-6 and have now won the last seven of their nine games, they are still keeping their playoff hopes alive. They travel to the Big Apple to take on the New York Jets, while the 6-8 49ers will try to do anything to keep their playoff hopes alive with a visit to South Florida and take on the Miami Dolphins.
