Best Beaches of Mexico To Visit in 2023
Are you looking for an unforgettable beach vacation in Mexico next year?
With its pristine white sand, crystal-clear water, and tropical climate, Mexico is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches.
From secluded coves to bustling party spots, here are some of the best beaches in Mexico to visit in 2023.
Playa Sisal
Located on the Yucatan peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico, this breathtaking beach is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and other water sports.
As well, Playa Sisal has turquoise waters that are crystal clear and pristine white sand that stretches up to two kilometers along the shoreline. It has numerous reefs that offer excellent spots for scuba diving and fishing.
Basically, the ancient city of Tulum is located just north of Playa Sisal and offers a glimpse into Mayan culture and history through its amazing archaeological sites and structures.
Tips: The best part about Playa Sisal is its incredible seafood. From grilled shrimp to fresh ceviche, you can enjoy mouthwatering meals right by the beach!
Cancun
Cancun is not just any barrier island off the southeast coast of Mexico; it's an absolute paradise packed with rich history and jaw-dropping beauty.
From the moment you step onto its beaches, you'll be entranced by the breathtaking views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea and golden sands that stretch for miles. But there's more to Cancun than just its beaches.
We highly recommend the tranquil and less crowded Playa Chac Mool for families or couples seeking solitude. Meanwhile, Playa Delfines offers the best opportunity to spot playful dolphins in crystal-clear waters.
But that's not all - you can also explore the underwater museum at Isla Mujeres, where you'll be mesmerized by the unique and awe-inspiring sculptures.
Playa Carrizalillo (Puerto Escondido)
Of course, you might want to escape the crowds and find a secluded and serene place to relax. Playa Carrizalillo is the perfect spot for that.
Tucked away in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, this crescent-shaped beach boasts turquoise waters and breathtaking views.
To reach Playa Carrizalillo, you must walk down and then back up around 155 stairs, but the journey is worth it. Once you arrive, you can relax on the soft sands and enjoy the beautiful views.
Tips: Playa Carrizalillo isn't just a beach for regular beachgoers; it's also a popular place for beginners and intermediate surfers to go surfing. Surfboards can be rented from one of the many surf shacks on the beach for 150 MXN per hour. You can rent shortboards, longboards, and bodyboards when you arrive.
Playa del Carmen beaches
Playa del Carmen is a beach town that has gained popularity recently for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and rich history.
As you walk along the palm-lined beaches, you can't help but feel the cool breeze coming from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.
The city was once a Mayan fishing village known as Xaman Ha, which means "waters of the North." It was a significant trading center and religious site for the ancient Mayan civilization. Today, you can explore the remnants of this ancient culture by visiting the Mayan ruins of Tulum or Chichen Itza.
Tips: The fastest way to travel from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen is via ferry, which will take 35 minutes to reach your destination.
Costa Maya
Costa Maya, located on Mexico's east coast, used to be undeveloped until a large pier was built, attracting a lot of beachgoers.
The region maintains a beautiful balance between traditional Mayan identity and modernity, making it a recommended beach for tourists.
Tourists can experience costumed Mayan entertainers, Mayan architecture, luxury shopping, beach clubs, and restaurants.
Divers should go to the underwater wonderland of Banco Chinchorro, and history buffs should check out Dzibanch, Kinich-Na, and Kohunlich, three underrated Mayan ruins in the area.
Punta Mita, Riviera Nayarit
Punta Mita is a luxurious paradise located in the Mexican Riviera Nayarit, just a short drive away from Sayulita
What sets Punta Mita apart from other beach destinations in Mexico is the abundance of five-star hotels, luxury vacation rentals, and world-class golf courses.
Whether you prefer modern, minimalist, tropical, or rustic lodging, Punta Mita offers upscale oceanfront views that take your breath away.
Punta Mita Ocean Sports allows you to go sport fishing, kayaking, whale watching, surfing, paddleboarding, sailing, diving, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, and more.
Aside from the beach activities, Punta Mita has a bird sanctuary nearby. You can also explore recreational trails that abound in the landscape.
Playa Balandra (La Paz)
Playa Balandra is an stunning beach in Baja California Sur State, about one hour from La Paz, Mexico. Its crystal clear waters and brilliant white sandy beaches make it a popular spot for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking.
One of the most iconic features that make Playa Balandra unique is the "mushroom rock" on the beach's north side – it's a must-see!
Tips: due to its growing popularity on social media, it's essential to arrive early to secure a spot at the beach. Both the parking lots and the beach itself tend to fill up quickly,
Sayulita
This secluded beach is rarely crowded, so it's a great place to get away from the busyness of Playa Sayulita.
We all know it's also a great spot to catch the sunset, but be sure to have a secure way to get back to town after dark.
Sayulita is a sleepy beach village about 26 miles northwest of Puerto Vallarta, known for its world-class beaches and water activities.
Surfing is a popular activity among locals, with Playa Carricitos being the mecca for experienced surfers and surf schools available for beginners.
Tips: To get to Playa Sayulita, you can take a taxi, rent a car, or book a private transfer from the airport.
La Lancha
Visitors to Playa La Lancha are greeted with an idyllic paradise of white sands and clear waters. It's the ideal spot for an adventure-filled getaway, offering both surfboard rentals and lessons and incredible photography opportunities.
Basically, the waves here are perfect for surfing but can be too strong for swimming. There's even a tree that provides a shady spot for photos.
Those looking to explore further can take a hike down from the highway, but do so with caution - the beach is located near swamps which can be home to crocodiles during certain times of the year.
Tips : Getting there is easy; visitors can take a bus or Uber straight to the OXXO convenience store nearby, park in the lot across the highway, and make their way over on foot.
Wrap Up
Now that you are familiar with some of the best beaches Mexico offers, it's time to start planning your 2023 vacation! Taking a trip to a beach paradise can be just what you need for a mid-year reset.
Whether you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life or spend some quality time with friends and family in a tropical paradise, these best Mexican beaches will make your journey memorable.

So what exactly can you expect on such an outing? Allow me to be your guide as I take you through the ins and outs of sailing aboard a Catamaran  Riviera Maya. I’ll tell you all about what type of equipment and amenities are provided, how to choose the best plan for your group, and some tips on how to maximize your time out at sea. Let’s set sail!
Exploring the Riviera Maya on a Catamaran
Exploring the Riviera Maya aboard a catamaran is a sailing experience like no other. From the comfort of your own private yacht, you can get up close and personal with some of the world's most beautiful seascapes, including the Caribbean Sea and its breathtaking coral reefs. Whether you're looking to go on a romantic sunset cruise or set sail on a full-day tour around some of Mexico's renowned beaches, embarking on a catamaran tour is the perfect way to explore this stunning coastal region.
What makes sailing Riviera Maya aboard a catamaran unique? The answer lies in the vessel itself. Catamarans provide a comfortable and spacious accommodation as you travel across this historical landscape—allowing for plenty of room to accommodate large groups or families while still providing an intimate setting. Furthermore, they offer smooth and reliable sailing which makes them ideal for reaching more remote areas around Mexico’s coastline. Finally, the stability of catamarans make them an excellent choice for anyone who suffers from seasickness!
What to Expect on a Cancun Booze Cruise
If you're looking for a truly unique experience in Riviera Maya, then a boat tour is just what you need. A Cancun booze cruise is the perfect way to explore the Caribbean Sea and all its wonders, from crystal blue waters to stunning seascapes and beyond.

It's not just about sailing the seas—you can also explore the lush jungle of the Riviera Maya on a catamaran. Imagine gliding along the coastline with the sun shining and turquoise water, plus tropical birds flying overhead. Sounds like paradise, right?
If you want to experience something truly magical, a Riviera Maya jungle tour aboard a catamaran is perfect. The tour starts off with a mesmerizing sail along the coastline, followed by an exploration of the lush jungle on-shore where you can experience a totally unique ecosystem. Plus, you get to stop along crystal clear inlets and take a dip while admiring amazing rock formations.
Onboard your catamaran there's plenty to see and do—from snorkeling in hidden coves to kayaking or paddle boarding off-shore. Who knows what surprises await? Plus, your expert guide will teach you all about the region's rich culture and provide insight into its ecological significance. There's no better way to explore beautiful Riviera Maya!
Tips for Finding the Best Catamaran and Crew
Are you ready for the sailing excursion of a lifetime? Before you set off, here are some tips to help you find the right catamaran and crew:
Safety First
Make sure the catamaran's crew is experienced and reliable. Ask around before you book your trip and look up reviews on its services. You'll also want to ensure that the catamaran meets all safety regulations before signing up for the journey of your dreams.
Comfort Level
An experienced crew should be able to accommodate your comfort level and make any necessary adjustments. Whether you're an experienced sailor or a novice, they should be more than willing to cater to your needs whether it's sails, navigation or just advice on what to bring along for the trip.
Knowledgeable Guides
A knowledgeable guide can help teach you about the area, provide tips on activities in Riviera Maya and answer any questions you might have about sailing in general. Choose a captain who is passionate about his or her craft and can give you an unforgettable experience!
Availability
The best catamarans will require advance reservations, so make sure to book your spot early if possible. And lastly, when booking a catamaran for a day tour—or multiple days—be sure it's available when you need it. The perfect catamaran could be booked solid during peak months, so plan ahead!
Tumblr media

The best places to visit with your family
A family vacation is a great investment because you may need a couch or new carpet but the furniture or the carpet will wear out; but the memories made on a family vacation will last a life time and only grow better with age.
Now where you take your pre-teens may depend on what you want to do or what they like to do.
In my opinion, here are a few of the top 10 family vacations.
Hawaii, go here for your family vacation to enjoy beautiful white sand beaches, towering waterfalls, whales, dolphins, volcanoes and more activities than I could possibly mention.
Washington DC, this family vacation would be educational as your kids would see so much history their head would spin. But if you get your kids involved in researching the different.
Museums and historical sights, let them choose which ones they want to visit, you will be surprised how excited they will get about what they are going to see.
Costa Rica, this is one of my favorite family vacation destinations for those that like adventure and nature. Costa Rican's are so friendly and proud, they want share their beautiful country with you.
While drifting down a river you will see trees full of howling monkeys, toucans and other colorful birds, crocodiles and lizard like creatures that seem to walk on water. On this family vacations you can
Visit frog farms at night and zip through the tree tops during the day or simply relax at the beach.
Gulf Shores Alabama State Park, if you want to stay in the US , this is a wonderful family vacation. It has gorgeous beaches, fishing, skiing, nature hikes, golf and swimming, just to name a few of the things to do.
Colorado Springs area, also a great family vacation spot in the US . Here you can white water raft, horseback ride, go to a cowboy dinner, pan for gold, rock climb; and the list goes on.
Disney, this is a given. But don't forget about Disney in California . It is smaller, but there are so many other things to do in the area that it is a fantastic trip for a family vacation.
Cruises, kids love cruises because they have special activities on board for the different age groups and they make friends and before the cruise is over they will want to have sleep-overs.
Dude Ranches, Texas , Colorado , Wyoming are a few states that have Dude Ranches. These are about the closest thing in the US to an 'all-inclusive' family vacation. Here you can go on trail rides, tube float down a river, watch and sometime participate in a good old fashion rodeo. And most all meals and activities are included in the price. Activities that are included vary.
Riviera Maya, Mexico, this area has some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico and amazing all-inclusive resorts. Choose the right resort and your kids will never lack for something to do. They can go snorkeling, build sand castles, sail on a sunfish, slide on huge water park slides and all of this is included in the price along with all meals and drinks.
Smuggler's Notch, VT, Located in beautiful mountains, while on this family vacation your family can spend time together mountain biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, skateboarding, painting, making jewelry, playing golf or just being quiet and enjoying the scenery around you.]
I would always check into purchasing a good travel insurance for your family travel because you never know when you will need it. I always tell my clients 'travel insurance is one of those expenses that if you purchase it and don't need it, then you feel it was a waste of money; but if you don't purchase it and loose all of your money or need the medical part of the insurance while on your trip, then you wish you had purchased the travel insurance'. So it is worth investigating.

New Amendment Seeks to End Dolphin Shows, Experiences in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean
Under a possible new law in Mexico, marine animals such as dolphins, seals, and sea lions won’t be subject to performances and any type of dolphin shows or swim experiences, which are rather popular in the tourist regions of the Riviera Maya, including Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and Tulum, will no longer be offered. “Approximately 300 dolphins are in captivity in our country; this means that…

Riviera Maya - Mexican Treasure
Mayan Riviera, or Riviera Maya in Spanish, is one of the most popular destinations in Mexico. The Riviera Maya is the official name for a stretch of coastal land from the south of Fishing Riviera Maya to Tulum. It includes the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. This area of the coast covers 130 km (81 mi), not including the Reserve. It includes many small towns and hideaways, plus nature parks and large resorts, among which are luxury resorts of 5 or more stars. The largest towns are Puerto Morelos and Puerto Aventuras. These are lesser known but equally worthy vacation spots. Hideaways include Punta Bete, Xpu-Ha, Paamul, and Punta Allen. Major cities in this stretch include Playa del Carmen, Akumal, and Tulum. Cancún and the island of Cozumel are only minutes away by car or ferry. As you can imagine there are plenty of things to do for vacationers of all preferences. Whether you want to relax on the beach, snorkel in the clear blue waters, shop for souvenirs, visit historical or nature preserves, or eat at a plethora of restaurants, Riviera Maya will more then fulfill your vacation desire.
Lots To Do
Swimming with the Dolphins - Dolphin Discovery (998/887-0207) is located at Treasure Island on the side of Isla Mujeres, facing Cancun. Up to six people can swim with two dolphins and one trainer. Another option is Xel-Ha (998/883-3293), a theme park in Puerto Juárez. For under $90 US per person, you can swim for 30 minutes in a natural habitat environment called dolphinaria.
Snorkeling - Isla Mujeres is located close to one of many coral reefs, and the area is popular for its snorkeling and scuba diving. The most popular snorkeling area is El Garrafón National Park. Another popular spot is Bahía de Mujeres.
SCUBA Diving - By far, the most popular destination is Cozumel. It ranks among the top five dive destinations. But don't forget your dive card and dive log. Dive shops will rent you gear but won't take you out on a boat until you demonstrate some documentation. You can save money by getting a dive package together with hotel stay. Cozumel has a lot of diving locations. Some of the more famous are Palancar Reef, Santa Rosa Wall, San Francisco Reef, and Yucab Reef. The Great Maya coral reef is also breathtaking.
Wildlife - No, not the all night partying kind, but natural Reserves is what we're talking about here. South of Cancún, near the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, you will encounter the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Here you can enjoy wildlife in their natural habitat. Activities include kayaking, fly fishing, and educational programs. In Isla Mujeres you may want to visit the Turtle Sanctuary, a reserve dedicated to preserving Caribbean Sea turtles and educating the public about them.
Beaches - Playa del Carmen offers same quality of beaches as Cancun with fewer crowds, although it is growing in popularity. Few minutes by ferry will take you to the island of Cozumel which has wonderful beaches such as Playa San Francisco and Playa Palancar.
Swimming - If you're in Isla Mujeres, then we recommend Playa Norte. Anywhere there is a great beach in the Riviera Maya you'll find a great swimming experience.
Fishing - Riviera Maya offers great fishing experience. To arrange a day of fishing contact the Sociedad Cooperativa Turística. Alternatively your travel agent can arrange a fishing tour for you. Best months for fishing are April to September.
Museums and Maya Ruins - On rainy afternoons you may wish to check out a museum or two. In Cazumel, Museo de la Isla de Cozumel merits a visit. Mayan ruins are definitely worth a visit when you're in the Riviera Maya. One notable spot are the Ruins of Tulum, a Maya fortress-city overlooking the Caribbean. These are located thirteen kilometers (8 miles) south of Xel-ha.
There are way too many activities in the Riviera Maya to be able to list them all in a short article such as this one. In the near future look for more articles dedicated to one or few destinations in the Riviera Maya.

Reasons to have a vacation in Riviera Maya
The Riviera Maya, extending from the south of Cancun over Playa del Carmen until Tulum, is quite possibly one of the most beguiling destinations in North America. You will love to be at its immaculate white beaches, beautiful cenotes, archeological sites, restaurants, hotels, villas, and resorts.
The following are a few reasons it is worth being part of Riviera Maya tours.
The Beaches
You can enjoy the white sand, turquoise sea, and blue sky. These are why the beaches of Riviera Maya are some of the most incredible on the planet. It is the same irrespective of whether you are going to Puerto Morelos, Tulum, or pick the well-known Mamitas seaside in Playa del Carmen. The translucent ocean, delightful sun rises, and natural life will stay in your memory.
Tumblr media
Archeological sites
It is possible to explore the ruins of the old Maya and the hints of their way of life through the Yucatan peninsula. Then, only 45 minutes heading south, you will track down the archeological site of Tulum. An additional 30 minutes later, you can explore one of the most remarkable cities, Coba. Finally, by being with reputed tour operators, you can be at Chichen Itza and Ek Balam in no less than 2 hours driving. An archeological guide will lead you through all destinations.
Water sports
The natural miracles of the region are ideal areas for a wide range of water sports, including swimming, diving, kite-surfing, kayaking, SUP, and para-cruising. Pay attention to the murmurs of the breeze while flying over the kaleidoscopic ocean or be shocked by the bountiful existence of the peaceful submerged world.
Hotels and resorts
Only a couple of destinations on the planet have an assortment of accommodation choices as the Riviera Maya. From the beautiful boutique hotels with their smelling bougainvillea to the gigantic complex of extravagant resorts, you can stay anywhere you desire.
Unwinding, meditation, Yoga, and Spas
The Riviera Maya is a haven for body and soul. In its spas, you will reacquaint yourself and fail to remember every one of your difficulties, reviving your skin and soul with antiquated methods and regular elements of the greatest immaculateness conceivable. So, visit these sanctuaries of welfare and get back to see the value in your excellence.
Tumblr media
Wonderful Nature
The Mayan Riviera is home to numerous gorgeous natural miracles that will blow your mind. It is a pleasure to be at its cenotes, its vivid coral reefs, reviving underground waterways, and the biosphere reserve Sian Ka’an. You can notice many birds and crocodiles in the mangroves, manatees, turtles, and wild dolphins.
Nightlife
The evenings on the Riviera are extraordinary, warm, and splendid. The thumping of your heart will synchronize with the pace of the music while the warm breeze touches your hair. It is possible to dance, drink or eat until the sun rises.
Gastronomy
This region is a heaven for the sense of taste, with little, pleasant corners of regular food, popular, captivating cafés, and worldwide known cooking. At the Riviera, food tastes like the sea and smells like tradition with a hint of innovation. A blend you will not find elsewhere.

Take Time to Travel: To Mexico
Mexico is an amazing vacation spot for any person at any age. The activities and sights you can see there are endless and the fun never stops. My recommendation if you decide to travel to this destination, is to stay in an all inclusive resort. There are many reasons to travel this way but mainly because: the food and drinks are endless, there are tours that take you to and from the resort, you are always free to roam around, there is so much to do without leaving the resort, and everything is up to you.
In this blog, I would like to elaborate on the reasons that staying at an all inclusive resort in Mexico is the best thing to do when you visit. Hopefully, you can see the excitement of visiting this amazing country and I can answer some of your questions about traveling here.
1.     The food and drinks are endless - I don't think I need to elaborate on this one too much because it explains itself. On an all inclusive resort, the food and drinks are all included. This means you can walk into any of the dining areas and treat yourself to as much food as you could possibly want. The food itself is incredible too. The chefs create extravagant plates as well as "build your own" options such as omelets, crepes, nachos, etc. This can get to be dangerous though if you are trying to keep your beach body, so make sure to take advantage of the delicious fruits and vegetables they offer too! Most resorts also have swim-up bars in every pool. This allows you to retrieve your free drinks without even leaving the pool. The bartenders are always friendly and tentative which is really nice considering you aren't giving them money. Tips, of course, are accepted if they do a good job which typically, they do.
2.     The resort sets up tours for you - Resorts typically have deals set up with tours and activities outside of the resort that they will shuttle you to and from. When I went to Mexico, my family took advantage of this as we went zip lining through the jungle, swimming with the dolphins, and snorkeling to see the coral reefs. Each activity was amazing and never disappointed us and knowing we had a safe ride to get us to and from each place put our minds at ease during the trip. If you get a chance to visit Mexico, I highly recommend these tours for different reasons.
                                                   i.          Zip lining - Getting to zip through the jungle and feel the warm heat of Mexico on our skin as we made our way to each zip lining stand was amazing. It was so fun getting to interact with nature like that and be surrounded by lush, green trees and plants was a sight to see. We also met a monkey that was zip lining around and very friendly.
Tumblr media
ii.          Swimming with dolphins - Dolphins, or as I like to call them: sea dogs, are amazing to be with. They always seem to be so excited about working with people and the trainers treated them great. It was such a great experience getting to be in the water with them and pet them. This is something I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get some animal interaction time when they travel.
iii.          Snorkeling through the reefs - I have never seen more blue water than the water I snorkeled through in Mexico. But the clear blue sea isn't what caught my eye the most; the colorful fish and light pink reefs were the real sight to see. If you love the ocean and getting to experience the life swimming through it, you should plan a snorkeling tour, the sight will not disappoint.
3.     You are always free to roam around - Any place you go, whether it be the city or a small town, you tend to stay in after a certain time at night or are skeptical of what you could run into. On an all inclusive resort, you are completely secluded from everything outside of the walls. The resort is safe and secure so you can feel stress free and not think about making sure you have a safe way to get home or running into a bad situation. The walk ways are always lit up no matter what time at night, so if you are in the mood to go for a late stroll and get some air, there is always some place for you to go.
4.     Many things to do without leaving the resort - With the last point being said, there is plenty of space to roam around. There were four different resort buildings and "grounds" on one single resort where we went. I didn't even see two of the resort buildings because it was so big and there were so many other places to go on it. If you get a resort that is right on the ocean, you can of course hangout at the beach, or you can rent equipment from the beach shacks. From sailboats and water-bikes, to volleyballs and kayaks, there are endless activities to occupy yourself at the beach all day. If you want a break from the beach, there are multiple pools around the resort. There are family pools, pools with swim-up bars as I had said before, or even infinity pools that overlook the ocean. Sometimes these pools require you to be 18 years old or older so advise before you plan a family trip. There are also many shops set up along the resort with different trinkets and souvenirs that you can bargain with locals to buy. Many times these are hand-crafted or locally made which is amazing to walk by and see everything made in that culture. There is also the food and drinks as I had mentioned before that create a social atmosphere that allows you to talk to other tourists.
5.     Everything is up to you - Most trips require endless planning, looking at what days you are going to do what activity and what times and how you will get there. It becomes exhausting and you almost spend as much time planning your vacation as you do actually being on vacation. This is the case for many vacations, but at all inclusive resorts, you get to sit back and relax and schedule things on your own time. The tours can be set up the day you want to go, just let the front desk manager know and they will help set you up with the activity. You do not need to worry about making dinner reservations because the dining areas are set up in a way that makes it possible to feed many guests at one time with still exceptional food. If you do choose to visit one of the more high end restaurants on the resort, you can call and make a reservation, and walk to your destination because it is that close. All inclusive resorts also offer you the freedom to rent out any beach gear or ocean equipment whenever you would like, and also return them at any time you would like. You will never become board because there are so many options for you to do right on the resort at your leisure.
For people who are stressed and looking for the most laid back vacation and travel destination, an all inclusive resort in Mexico is your solution.
Mexico is a beautiful country to see and if you haven't visited it before, I highly recommend it at some point in your life. The amazing food, beautiful art, outstanding scenery, festive music, and exotic animals is something you can't miss out on. There is so much spirit and life in the country and being able to experience it for yourself is something you can cherish forever.
Throughout this blog, I had referred back to the resort I had stayed at often. If you would like to look at it and consider it for your travel destination, I have listed the information on it below.
Thank you for reading and please contact me if you have any questions or comment about my blog post.

This is where I was supposed to be today. With my good friends, playing on the beach, and my whole family was coming, too. It’s not an ordinary trip. This is a trip we earned for helping people. And my company appreciates our work so much that they not only were paying for the trip, but rented out the huge resort and planned big elaborate parties for us. My kids would have taken their first trip out of the United States. We were going to swim with dolphins. But I have to say Thank You to Beachbody for knowing what was happening and canceling the trip, and then for the entire island to go ahead and shut its doors. We don’t want this thing to spread and we would never want to endanger each other or another country. So instead, I’ll enjoy a little staycation in Austin. I can’t complain! My family is well! We are all home. We have trails and a park. We are so blessed to have our health and each other. And I’ll continue my mission of not only helping others, but helping others help others. Spreading the joy not only of health and fitness, but of COACHING for health and fitness is my focus. Next year’s trip is already planned. I will see my friends on the beach at Riviera Maya Mexico. And there is room on the beach for you. (at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9_52G6l58B/?igshid=jovb6s5ktznd

Honduran Bay Islands
With over 500 miles of glistening Caribbean coastline, its close proximity to the Mesoamerican barrier reef system and crystal clear waters, Honduras gives even the best snorkel spots of Belize and the Riviera Maya a run for their money.
Although you can find many amazing snorkel sites just off the coast of the main island, the truly spectacular underwater worlds are found around the Bay Islands. Roatan, Utila and Guanaja are each surrounded by a ring of vibrant coral and a stunning array of bright, tropical fish. Scuba divers and avid snorkelers flock to the waters of Honduras, and call the Honduran Bay Islands one of the prime snorkel locations in the hemisphere.
Punta Sal National Park
Easily found on the western side of Tela, is the eco friendly Punta Sal National Park. Accessible by boat, this secluded bay is the epitome of a Caribbean paradise. With its white sands, fantastic wildlife and crystal clear water, this is the ideal place to spend a morning snorkel adventure. Simply stroll into the turquoise waves off the beach of Puerto Escondido, and enter the colourful underwater world of Punta Sal National Park.
Here you’ll not only find a stunning array or coral and interesting marine plant species, but you will also be greeted by a school of parrot fish, angelfish and even a dolphin or two!
Mary’s Place
This is one of the most popular sites in all of Honduras. Any divers or snorkelers visiting Roatan consider Mary’s Place an absolute must for a unique underwater experience. Located on the south side of the island, close to the town of Coxen Hole, this one of a kind snorkel site completely revolves around a gigantic crevice. Hidden in the depths of the ravine you can find octopi, crabs and even lobsters.
However, brave sea turtles, spotted eagle rays and friendly little groupers will pop up to the surface to say hello. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a few seahorses hopping between the rocks, or a red starfish relaxing on the sand below. With haunting black coral trees and unforgettable giant sea fans, there’s definitely no shortage of life in this unusual site.
Cayos Cochinos
When people talk about Cayos, the first thing that springs to mind is a vibrant collection of tiny coral islands, sitting in shimmering turquoise water. These islands belong to the second largest barrier reef in the world, and are an archipelago of thirteen coral cays and two beautiful volcanic islands.
Cayos Grande is the biggest of the volcanic islands, and is the only one where tourists are allowed to snorkel. You can access this snorkel paradise by boat, but as it’s classed as a biological marine reserve, you will need to take an official boat out to the island. The waters of Cayos Cochinos are teeming with exiting sea life, such as banded butterfly fish, queen conches, sea cucumbers, jellyfish, anemones and even barracuda. It does cost a few Honduran Lempira to enter this bio reserve, but the sights are definitely worth it!
Chepes Beach
This is one of the more unknown snorkel sites in Honduras. Chepes Beach is located on the coastline of Utila, and is a budget snorkelers dream. Food, accommodation and equipment rental on this island are all extremely cheap and great quality.
Amazing shallow sand flats and patch reefs can be found just a few meters from the shore, and a little further out you will find the edge of the drop-off. Here you can see some outstanding sea life! Turtles, yellow stingrays, spotted trunkfish and dolphins all call this area home. You may even have the chance to swim alongside a gigantic whale shark while exploring the waters of Chepes Beach.
Texas
This site is not one for the faint hearted! Texas, found on the most western tip of Roatan, is home to the amazing hammerhead shark. Due to its location, there is a constant supply of food brought in by the current, so schools of snappers, jacks, tangs and hammerheads are brought in daily.
Due to a huge 100 foot drop-off, there are also vast caves are dark crevices to explore. In the shadows, octopi, giant sponges, nurse sharks and lionfish hide away from the bright Caribbean sun.
