Hey, I’m on the Internet!!

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by. Since this is my first post, I think it’s a good time to let y'all know what I'm all about.

My name's Nick. I'm a near middle aged dude who likes to cook. Actually, I love cooking. Especially barbecue! And I love feeding my friends and family almost as much as I love cooking!

Growing up where I did, cooking was always a big deal. We'd find any excuse to get people together and have some giant feast. Birthdays, holidays, weekends, hurricanes, you name it. So I guess cooking is in my blood. My grandma and uncles taught me the basics, and the internet filled in the rest. The internet also has tons of awesome dog pictures, by the way. So, I'm not a trained chef. Not even a part time cook. I don't participate in competitions, and I'm not really interested in why Aaron Franklin's barbecue is better than mine (Aaron Franklin’s barbecue is WAY better than mine, btw). Why am I going though all of this trouble to post pictures of my food on the Internet? Funsies. It's fun, I love it, my wife loves it, my family loves it, and most importantly, I’m bored and have some free time on my hands.

I hope y'all have a good time here. I know I sure will!

My next post will feature the equipment I use to make things delicious and maybe a bit about how I got into BBQ, specifically. Until then, may your fires burn steady and your temps remain stable.
