if his coworker hadn't BEGGED him to pick up the game while he worked, he would have stayed in his apartment all weekend streaming to be one of the first to complete the release. it wouldn't be a speed run, not with his luck. knowing him, he would end up clearing the game just a few seconds after someone else. so instead he opted to explore the side quests and build up the lore of the floors. though his viewers will probably think he was just a SUBTLE fanboy trying to hear a certain idols voice before moving on to the following bosses. but he already prepared his response to those comments--

thankfully his go-to shop still carried one more copy after the rush in sales. was this a sign that his bad luck streak was FINALLY ending? maybe it was time to seriously invest in his gacha games to pull the units he needed. at least-- those were the thoughts initially running through his head until a hand brushed against his to grab the last copy of the game.

before he could even think of letting the game go, the hand immediately pulled back as if the touch burnt their hands. "ah-- it's fine. i have a copy already.." he mumbled out an explanation, bringing the game down from the shelf to hold it out toward them. "my friend can use this as a lesson to pre-order items.." he HOPED she would take the game from his hands. how awkward would it be if his one attempt at being generous was rejected? he would NEVER show his face at the shop again. "you should.. probably buy it soon before another person sees the copy and grabs it from my hands."

A VOICE ACTING JOB... for a game that was set to release for a portable game console on that day. ai just voiced a minor character for the game, but she was excited about the job all the same. she played the first boss in the game - one that tells the cast of a rumor of people being possesses, only to be the one possessing the townspeople. She's slain in the end, but it was a role worthy of showing her name on some of the advertisements, if nothing else.

unfortunately, the game just seemed to be flying off the shelves !! no matter where she went, she couldn't seem to find a copy to purchase. to think that she'd be spending her off day like this !! clad in a disguise she enters what she thinks may just be the fourth or fifth shop - a single copy sits neatly on the shelf. she reaches out to it, the game nearly in her grasp as her fingers brush against someone else's.

looks like someone had beat her to it, right at the end. though she may have been disguised, she wouldn't hear the end of it if word got out that she caused a scene over a video game of all things.
